Resumen
The shift of the real communication to the virtual sphere has influenced the nature of interpersonal relations. The article focuses on the characterization of the phenomenon ‘virtual communication', playing the dominating role in the electronic world culture. Drawing from a socio-cultural analysis and the theory of simulacra by J. Baudrillard, the article proposes the classification of the virtual communication types in terms of the nature of human relations and illustrates their peculiarities and features. Using the axiological approach, the author characterizes the phenomenon of the virtual communication and the existential and ethical aspects of the interpersonal relation transfer to the sphere of the information contact. The research resulted in revealing the features and peculiarities of the virtual communication and the benefits and risks for human beings and society.

Resumen
This paper is concerned with fictional communication, as the act of an author in relation to a reader. Fictional discourse exhibits certain complexities that are not observable in other forms of discourse. For example, the author’s act is mediated for the reader by that set of persons called characters. This fact generates a range of relations, firstly the triad of author-reader, author-character, and reader-character. But closer observation reveals that this mediation may be such that it gives way to another, deeper set of relations. At the deepest level one may postulate reader’s relation to author’s self-relating and author’s relation to reader’s self-relating. These questions are explored with view to deriving a revisionist notion of pragmatics that is open to agency.

Thesis title: Health Professional-patient communication in relation to weight managementBackground: Global obesity levels have doubled since 1980 and are expected to rise. It is associated with key health risks such as heart disease, some cancers and osteoarthritis and hence has considerable economic consequences for health care resources. Key policy guidelines recommend that all health professionals (HPs) should discuss weight management with their patients making every contact count. However, we know HPs find discussions about weight challenging due to lack of time, training and skills. Knee Osteoarthritis (KO) and obesity are inextricably linked and together with a rise in obesity levels and growing numbers of older citizens rates of KO are set to escalate. As obesity is the key modifiable risk factor for KO, discussions about weight are paramount. This thesis explored this relationship further from the perspectives of patient and HPs, focusing on KO as an exemplar condition where there is scope for improved weight management. Methods: Utilising qualitative methods, three studies were undertaken. Firstly, a systematic review and thematic synthesis was conducted of published literature of physicians' views and experiences of discussing weight management within routine clinical consultations, not specific to KO. Secondly, HPs' experiences of discussing weight in consultations with KO patients through semi-structured interviews were conducted with 26 HPs. Interviews were audio recorded and analysed using TA. A final study recruited 25 overweight/obese patients with KO and investigated their experiences of talking about weight with HPs. Results: Overarching themes were identified across the studies. Firstly, HPs are pessimistic about patients' desire to lose weight and their capacity to help them. Several factors lead physicians and HPs to be reticent to accept responsibility for discussions about weight. Within routine consultations and between HPs and KO patients, weight was viewed as a sensitive topic. Both HPs and patients recognized the difficult cycle of pain, reduced mobility and weight gain. Patients with KO desire patient-centred (PC) care but, despite HPs recognizing its value, they do not receive it. Both physicians and HPs lack communication skills in weight management. Conclusions: The work undertaken in this thesis demonstrates that barriers preventing effective clinical interactions about weight identified in routine consultations still exist, even when two conditions such as KO and obesity are inextricably linked. Although HPs and patients hold similar understanding of these interrelationships and recognise the value of PC discussions, HPs struggle in effective behavior change talk. HPs expressed impatience with the efforts of their patients. To readdress this imbalance all consultations about weight should be PC. Both physicians and HPs were inadequately trained to discuss weight and patients' views supported this. HPs working with overweight patients should be trained in evidence-based behaviour change techniques and PC communication techniques to increase their confidence to support patients in weight management. Finally, health psychologists have the skills to both deliver and guide discussions about weight.

The aim of the study is to develop knowledge about what employees in communication agencies and its customers perceive as central to the relationship. The research questions are: What do communication agencies experience as central to the relationship with customers? and What do customers experience as central in the relationship with communication agencies? Based on Social Exchange Theory (SET), supplemented with Behaviorally Driven Relationship Marketing Theory (BRM), we have investigated what is central in the communication agency– customer. As a basis for achieving our goal, we have in total conducted semi-structured interviews with nine people, six people from a communication agency and three of their customers. We have interviewed employees from both a communication agency and from customers to achieve a more nuanced view of the research problem. In our thematic analysis of our interview transcripts we found the concepts Phases in the Relationship, View of the Relationship, and Cooperation as central aspects. Through these aspects we illustrate the respondents' perceptions of what is central in the relationship. The study's results indicate that the longer the relationship is, the better the cooperation gets, which enables both parts possibilities to achieve desired product. In addition, a crucial part of this seems to be the start up phase and an equal view of the relationship. Furthermore, an ongoing relationship should be characterized with trust, commitment and two-way communication.

Bonnet, Fabien.

This research investigates the evolution of the relationship developped by EDF, a former state company, with his clientele. Implementing a communicational approach, we are notably questioning the sense of marketing practices and speeches, which came with the recent emergence of the notion, systems and practises of the Customer Relationship Management. After showing the necessity of a contextualised approach in order to tackle the research object in its whole complexity, the relation between EDF and its public is analysed at the rise of the socio-political and economical evolutions which underpinned its development. In a second part, this research analyses the way the company put in practice and staged its customer relationship since its creation in 1949. In particular, a stress has been put on the move of the company messages towards a stronger symbolic dimension. Finally, these practises and their presentation by EDF are questioned through customer perception and put in perspective through a case study. Consequently, collective interviews allow to identify the lack in signification of broadcasted messages. The case of the German energy provider Yello Strom confirms the interest of a communicational approach of social interactions between companies and customers, apprehended in their symbolic and sensible dimensions

Resumen
Stylistics can be considered as a field of study that crosses text theory, linguistics, and journalism. Although different schools create different approaches to stylistics, each stylistic approach will include in its paradigm some basic factors, such as the reader and the author. This article shows how these factors interact with each other and, ultimately, create the basis for the emergence of a new field in Ukrainian journalism – interactive stylistics. The study is devoted to interactive stylistics, which is considering as a field based on the text’s own pragmatic potential in the context of modern humanities methodology. This discipline acquires a new function: to observe and interpretively explain, firstly, the meaning of interactions between agents (author and recipient) in communication, mediated by the media text, and, secondly, the effect that this interaction brings. At the center of interactive stylistics is the author (journalist), who through the text discusses the content of interactions in relation to his own interests, as well as cultural, social and historical contracts with the reader. The meaning of the expressions used and the general meaning of such interactions arises in the context of communication events, based on the perception of the subjects of communication with the surrounding reality through the assimilation and adequate interpretation of new information. In modern Ukrainian science of communication, the study of interactive stylistics acquires significant potential. It profiles itself in the context of interdisciplinarity and aims to explore interactivity, interpretability, as well as intertextuality (in specific media texts or interdiscourse dialogue). Interactive stylistics is able to meet the needs of communicators as a useful source of instructions on how communication subjects interact and has a chance to achieve success both at the domestic and international scientific level. Due to its scientific perspective of applying the above-mentioned methodology, it is harmoniously integrated among the tendentious linguistic and broader social science and humanitarian disciplines in Ukrainian scientific research or in the wider international context. Keywords: interactive stylistics; stylistics; reverse communication; style; interactivity; media text.

Bourrier, Mathilde, Michael Deml y Farnaz Mahdavian. Comparative report of the COVID-19 Pandemic Responses in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. University of Stavanger, noviembre de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.31265/usps.254.

Resumen
The purpose of this report is to compare the risk communication strategies and public health mitigation measures implemented by Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (UK) in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic based on publicly available documents. The report compares the country responses both in relation to one another and to the recommendations and guidance of the World Health Organization where available. The comparative report is an output of Work Package 1 from the research project PAN-FIGHT (Fighting pandemics with enhanced risk communication: Messages, compliance and vulnerability during the COVID-19 outbreak), which is financially supported by the Norwegian Research Council's extraordinary programme for corona research. PAN-FIGHT adopts a comparative approach which follows a “most different systems” variation as a logic of comparison guiding the research (Przeworski & Teune, 1970). The countries in this study include two EU member States (Sweden, Germany), one which was engaged in an exit process from the EU membership (the UK), and two non-European Union states, but both members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA): Norway and Switzerland. Furthermore, Germany and Switzerland govern by the Continental European Federal administrative model, with a relatively weak central bureaucracy and strong subnational, decentralised institutions. Norway and Sweden adhere to the Scandinavian model—a unitary but fairly decentralised system with power bestowed to the local authorities. The United Kingdom applies the Anglo-Saxon model, characterized by New Public Management (NPM) and decentralised managerial practices (Einhorn & Logue, 2003; Kuhlmann & Wollmann, 2014; Petridou et al., 2019). In total, PAN-FIGHT is comprised of 5 Work Packages (WPs), which are research-, recommendation-, and practice-oriented. The WPs seek to respond to the following research questions and accomplish the following: WP1: What are the characteristics of governmental and public health authorities’ risk communication strategies in five European countries, both in comparison to each other and in relation to the official strategies proposed by WHO? WP2: To what extent and how does the general public’s understanding, induced by national risk communication, vary across five countries, in relation to factors such as social capital, age, gender, socio-economic status and household composition? WP3: Based on data generated in WP1 and WP2, what is the significance of being male or female in terms of individual susceptibility to risk communication and subsequent vulnerability during the COVID-19 outbreak? WP4: Based on insight and knowledge generated in WPs 1 and 2, what recommendations can we offer national and local governments and health institutions on enhancing their risk communication strategies to curb pandemic outbreaks? WP5: Enhance health risk communication strategies across five European countries based upon the knowledge and recommendations generated by WPs 1-4. Pre-pandemic preparedness characteristics All five countries had pandemic plans developed prior to 2020, which generally were specific to influenza pandemics but not to coronaviruses. All plans had been updated following the H1N1 pandemic (2009-2010). During the SARS (2003) and MERS (2012) outbreaks, both of which are coronaviruses, all five countries experienced few cases, with notably smaller impacts than the H1N1 epidemic (2009-2010). The UK had conducted several exercises (Exercise Cygnet in 2016, Exercise Cygnus in 2016, and Exercise Iris in 2018) to check their preparedness plans; the reports from these exercises concluded that there were gaps in preparedness for epidemic outbreaks. Germany also simulated an influenza pandemic exercise in 2007 called LÜKEX 07, to train cross-state and cross-department crisis management (Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk, 2007). In 2017 within the context of the G20, Germany ran a health emergency simulation exercise with WHO and World Bank representatives to prepare for potential future pandemics (Federal Ministry of Health et al., 2017). Prior to COVID-19, only the UK had expert groups, notably the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), that was tasked with providing advice during emergencies. It had been used in previous emergency events (not exclusively limited to health). In contrast, none of the other countries had a similar expert advisory group in place prior to the pandemic. COVID-19 waves in 2020 All five countries experienced two waves of infection in 2020. The first wave occurred during the first half of the year and peaked after March 2020. The second wave arrived during the final quarter. Norway consistently had the lowest number of SARS-CoV-2 infections per million. Germany’s counts were neither the lowest nor the highest. Sweden, Switzerland and the UK alternated in having the highest numbers per million throughout 2020. Implementation of measures to control the spread of infection In Germany, Switzerland and the UK, health policy is the responsibility of regional states, (Länders, cantons and nations, respectively). However, there was a strong initial centralized response in all five countries to mitigate the spread of infection. Later on, country responses varied in the degree to which they were centralized or decentralized. Risk communication In all countries, a large variety of communication channels were used (press briefings, websites, social media, interviews). Digital communication channels were used extensively. Artificial intelligence was used, for example chatbots and decision support systems. Dashboards were used to provide access to and communicate data.

Resumen
#Youngart & Future Skills research project had two main foci. One was to develop and investigate models for collaboration between the art and education sectors, and the second to inquire whether the art programs and teacher/artist collaboration promotes the future skills of Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Communication. Two art programs were carried out in Norwegian secondary schools in 2022 and 2023. Art program A was developed by a theater company in collaboration with a teacher and four artists in a large secondary school class with 45 students in Trondheim. Art program B was developed by a filmmaker in collaboration with a teacher in a small secondary school class with 18 students in Sunnmøre. One of the aims of #Youngart & Future Skills was to investigate how different class and school sizes functioned in different art programs. The art programs were documented through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and the students feedback on post-it notes and drawings, and the material was analysed by the research team. The research finds that of the four future skills Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical Thinking, the first three were strengthened through the art program, and Critical thinking to some extent. The collaboration between classroom teachers and teaching artist was appreciated by both parties. At the same time, there seems to be potential in a closer collaboration and a clarification of roles in relation to the implementation of the art program. It is important that both parties can use their expertise in the implementation, and that the school’s needs and the teaching artists goals and proficiency meet in a good way. There is a need for more research to explore and make choices in relation to the diversity of possibilities in scope, length, timetable, and forms of collaboration between teachers and artists.

Lylo, Taras. THE MISSION OF A JOURNALIST IN THE ESSAYISTIC INTERPRETATIONS BY OLEGARIO GONZÁLEZ DE CARDEDAL. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, marzo de 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2024.54-55.12156.

Resumen
The article analyzes Olegario González de Cardedal’s views on journalistic mission, that he interprets as a “ministry”. For him, a journalist is the minister of the word, the creator and the interpreter of events, the spokesperson of human being and the witness of human hope. For the Spanish Catholic theologian and author, the newspaper is both “structure and soul”. He believes that media is something more than an ordinary profitable enterprise and interprets journalism as a “spiritual ministry”. A prerequisite for the true ministry is the hierarchical system of values. In this context, for González de Cardedal the most important are “decisive values”, “permanent priorities”, from the positions of which one should think. He also defines two main ideals of mass communication: the development of nobility and the strengthening of freedom. In addition, Olegario González de Cardedal emphasizes such features of a journalist as the devotion to the truth, the respect for facts, the professional cognition of the order of reality, the empathy and the freedom in relation to the powerful of this world. Moreover, the essayist pays special attention to the need for a more targeted approach to the coverage of international events. Olegario González de Cardedal believes that a reader first of all looks in a newspaper not only for what helps him get closer to the people who live nearby, but also to those ones who live far away. This, in his opinion, is a necessity at a time when information is a source of orientation in the struggle for existence, especially at a time of integral challenges that make geographical distances relative. “Human life has already reached cosmic proportions, and we cannot be human without being neighbors. Even through a provincial newspaper, great events of the world must travel: its landscapes, its people, its destinies...” Recognizing the fact that all newspapers are fundamentally local, however, the thinker notes, they must all build a common consciousness, convince of the common purpose and hope. Keywords: journalistic mission, newspaper, values, ideals of communication, freedom.
