Resumen
We consider the dilute regime of active suspensions of liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs), addressing issues motivated by our kinetic model and simulations in Forest et al. (Forest et al. 2013 Soft Matter 9 , 5207–5222 ( doi:10.1039/c3sm27736d )). In particular, we report unsteady two-dimensional heterogeneous flow-orientation attractors for pusher nanorod swimmers at dilute concentrations where passive LCP equilibria are isotropic. These numerical limit cycles are analogous to longwave (homogeneous) tumbling and kayaking limit cycles and two-dimensional heterogeneous unsteady attractors of passive LCPs in weak imposed shear, yet these states arise exclusively at semi-dilute concentrations where stable equilibria are nematic. The results in Forest et al. mentioned above compel two studies in the dilute regime that complement recent work of Saintillan & Shelley (Saintillan & Shelley 2013 C. R. Physique 14 , 497–517 ( doi:10.1016/j.crhy.2013.04.001 )): linearized stability analysis of the isotropic state for nanorod pushers and pullers; and an analytical–numerical study of weakly and strongly sheared active polar nanorod suspensions to capture how particle-scale activation affects shear rheology. We find that weakly sheared dilute puller versus pusher suspensions exhibit steady versus unsteady responses, shear thickening versus thinning and positive versus negative first normal stress differences. These results further establish how sheared dilute nanorod pusher suspensions exhibit many of the characteristic features of sheared semi-dilute passive nanorod suspensions.

Resumen
Prediction of ship’s total resistance of a pusher-barge system has become enormous complexity involving nonlinear-hydrodynamic flows behaviour along their hull forms. Both of empirical and simplified numerical solutions may still lead into inaccurate results due to presence of nonlinear characteristics of the pressure and viscous resistances. The use of a more sophisticated method would obviously necessitate to solve the above problem. This paper presents a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach to predict the total ship’s resistance of a pusher-barge system at various barge’s configurations. To achieve such objective, four different configurations of the barge models incorporated with various Froude numbers have been taken into account in the computational simulation. In general, the results revealed that the increase of Froude number (Fr = 0.182 to 0.312) was proportional to the magnitude of RT, RP and RV. Regardless of the various Froude number, the pusher-barge system with a 13BP configuration provides the highest resistance compared to the 12BP and 11BP. In addition, the arrangement of barges in the longitudinal (12BP) and lateral (21BP) configurations produced a significant effect with increases in RT, RP and RV values of 110%, 167.5% and 77.6%, respectively. The possible reason for this is that the increase of the total wetted surface area for 21BP has produced to a proportionally higher amount of the pressure and viscous resistance. Overall study, the numerical results were presented and analysed based on few aspects involved the total resistance and resistance coefficient in terms of pressure and viscous resistance of the pusher-barge system. This analysis provides very valuable information on choosing the most reliable arrangement of pusher-barge system. Resumen
Reheating of steel slabs for further processing such as hot rolling usually takes place in gas-fired pusher furnaces. Temperatures well above 1000°C, combined with an atmosphere containing H2O, CO2, and O2, lead to substantial oxidation of most steel grades. Newly developed advanced steels often contain significant amounts of Si. This element plays a dominant role in the scaling behaviour near the steel-scale-interface, since fayalite (Fe2SiO4) forms a eutectic with wuestite (Fe1–xO) that melts as low as 1177°C.To better understand the high temperature oxidation behaviour, lab-scale trials were performed with different steel grades containing up to 3 wt.% Si. Possible interactions of Si with other alloying elements present in the samples such as Cr, Mn and Al were also of interest. The atmosphere contained 20% H2O, 7% CO2, and 3% O2, resembling reheating conditions in pusher furnaces, and temperatures ranged from 1100 to 1240°C. For metallographic investigation, the oxidised samples were cold mounted under vacuum using taper section angles. After preparation, the sections were examined through light microscopy, SEM/EDS, XRD, and TEM. The local distribution of the alloying elements could be mapped efficiently, and phase identification was successful in most parts. Under the applied experimental conditions, the elements of interest were present in their oxidic form either as pure or as mixed oxides. Higher Si-contents led to an increased build-up of eutectic melting phase at the steel-scale-interface at temperatures above 1177°C, which in turn further accelerated the oxidation.

Resumen
IntroductionPoststroke pusher syndrome (PS) prevalence is high. Patients with PS require longer rehabilitation with prolonged length of stay. Effective treatment of PS remains a challenge for rehabilitation professionals. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive neuromodulation technique that is effective and recommended in the clinical guidelines of stroke rehabilitation. However, the role of rTMS for PS has not been examined. The study is to assess the efficacy of a specific rTMS programme for patients with PS in reducing pushing behaviour, enhancing motor recovery and improving mobility, as well as testing the safety of rTMS for patients with PS.Methods and analysisA randomised, patient and assessor blinded sham-controlled trial with two parallel groups will be conducted. Thirty-four eligible patients with PS will be randomly allocated to receive either rTMS or sham rTMS for 3 weeks. The primary assessment outcome is the pushing behaviour measured by the Burke Lateropulsion Scale and Scale for Contraversive Pushing. The secondary outcomes are the motor functions and mobility measured by the Fugl-Meyer Assessment Scale (motor domain) and Modified Rivermead Mobility Index, and any adverse events. Assessment will be performed at baseline and 1 week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks after intervention. Repeated-measures analysis of variance will be used for data analysis with the level of significance level set at 0.05.Ethics and disseminationThe protocol has been approved by the Biomedical Ethics Committee of West China Hospital, Sichuan University on 23 March 2022 (2022-133). Resumen
The wear behaviour on prealloyed sintered steel parts TiCN PVD coating was analysed. Cylindrical specimens ( 40x30 mm3) were compacted to the green density of ~7.0 g.cm-3. The specimens were sintered in pusher furnace at the temperature of 1180°C for 40 minutes in an atmosphere of 25H2+75N2. Part of sintered specimens was then coated by Physical Vapour Deposition. Wear tests were carried out by means of a pin-on-disk tribometer. The results of profilograms (the values of surface roughness) and the wear curves (mass loss versus sliding distance) showed positive effect of coating on the wear resistance of the tested specimens.

Resumen
Delta wing is a triangular-shaped platform that can be applied into the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or drone applications. However, the flow above the delta wing is governed by complex leading-edge vortex structures which result in complicated aerodynamics behaviour. At higher angles of attack, the vortex burst can take place when the swirling flow is unable to sustain the adverse pressure gradient. More studies are needed to understand these vortex phenomena. This paper addresses an experimental study of active flow control called propeller on a generic 55° swept angle sharp-edged delta wing model. In this experiment, a propeller was placed at two different locations. The first location was at the apex of the wing while the second position was at the rear of the wing. The experiments were conducted in a 1.5 × 2.0 m2 closed-loop wind tunnel facility at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The freestream velocities were set at 20 m/s and 25 m/s. The research consisted of an intensive surface pressure measurement above the wing surface to investigate the effects of rotating propeller towards the leading-edge vortex. The experiments were divided into four configurations. The clean wing configuration was performed without the propeller and followed by pusher-propeller configuration using 10-inch 9-inch propellers. The final configuration was the tractor-propeller with a 10-inch propeller. The results emphasise the influences of the propeller size and its location corresponding to vortex properties above the delta-winged UAV model. The findings had indicated that the vortex peak is increased when the propeller is installed for both pusher and tractor configurations. The results also indicate that the pressure coefficient is increased when the propeller advance ratio increases.

Resumen
The paper presents part of the experimental activities carried out in the GARTEUR Action Group RC/AG-26 to study the acoustic and aerodynamic characteristics of small rotor configurations, including the influence of the rotor-rotor interactions. Two rotors, equipped with two-bladed propellers of a diameter of D=330.2 mm, were operated at two rotating speeds of 8025 RPM and 10120 RPM and arranged in different configurations. Isolated rotor and two different coaxial configurations in hover conditions were assessed. The aerodynamic loads and the rotor slipstream characterisation, in terms of flow field velocity, tip vortex characterization as well as acoustics emissions, were performed using a six-component load cell, Particle Image Velocimetry and microphone measurements. The isolated pusher rotor presented better aerodynamic performance with respect to the puller one. The coaxial configurations result in a loss of thrust and an increase in torque compared to the isolated rotors. The upper rotor is barely affected by the presence of the lower one, while the lower rotor experiences a thrust loss ranging from 17 to 19%. The configuration with the larger rotor distance experiences greater performance loss. The mean velocity fields of the isolated rotors are measured and compared with the coaxial configurations for assessing the roto-rotor interaction, the results support the aerodynamic behaviour. The isolated rotor slipstream characterisation was carried out by phase-locked measurements covering the full rotor azimuth angle range from 0° to 350° with an increment of 30°. Tip vortex paths are followed up to a vortex age of 3.5 rotor revolutions. The 3D reconstruction of the tip vortices is conducted to gain insight into the slipstream behaviour and enhance the occurring vortex roll-up during the second revolution. The tip vortex jitter is investigated and the anisotropic distribution is confirmed along the slipstream. Furthermore, the noise emission intensifies in magnitude for the coaxial configuration with increasing relative gap between the rotors. The turbulent kinetic energy and the meandering of the blade tip vortices support the findings of the acoustics results.

Resumen
Background: When integrating visual and somatosensory processing into the subjective postural vertical using the Romberg test, patients with hemiplegic can be sorted into either post-stroke or pushers with unilateral spatial neglect (USN). This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of the integrated processing of the integrated subjective postural vertical (ISPV) with open or closed eyes in patients with hemiplegic and/or pusher with USN. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 91 patients with hemiplegic and 45 with pusher and USN. The outcomes included the ratio and sum of SPV with the eyes closed and open. Statistical analyses were performed using the parametric and/or non-parametric Wilcoxon rank-sum test, Mann–Whitney U test, or chi-square test after the Shapiro–Wilk test. Results: The outcomes in the 91 patients with hemiplegic were as follows: moderate-to-severe ISPV with ratio, 1.64°; ISPV sum (ISPVS), 9.41°. The outcomes in the 45 patients with pusher and USN were as follows: moderate-to-severe, ISPV: 1.35°, and ISPVS: 13.96°. No significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of demographic data or ISPV. However, the number of patients with pusher syndrome was significantly higher in the ISPVS group than in stroke patients with hemiplegic. Conclusions: Adaptation occurs by integrating sensory modalities, and the pusher behavior in patients with USN is characterized by the specific pathophysiology of a two-modality disorder with visual and somatosensory deficits. This study provides key insights into the pathophysiological characteristics of patients with pusher syndrome and USN.

Resumen
ObjectiveTo determine the effects of 2 weeks of intensive robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) on pusher behavior compared to nonrobotic physiotherapy (nR-PT).MethodsIn a single-blind, randomized, controlled trial with 2 parallel arms, we compared 2 weeks of daily RAGT (intervention group) with the same amount of nR-PT (control group). Patients with subacute stroke who had pusher behavior according to the Scale for Contraversive Pushing (SCP) were included. The primary research questions were whether changes in pusher behavior would differ between groups post intervention, and at a follow-up 2 weeks afterward (SCP and Burke Lateropulsion Scale, Class II evidence). Secondary outcomes included the Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment, the Functional Ambulation Classification, and the Subjective Visual Vertical.ResultsThirty-eight patients were randomized. Thereof, 30 patients received the allocated intervention and were included in the analyses. RAGT led to a larger reduction of pusher behavior than nR-PT at post test (SCP: U = 69.00, r = −0.33, p = 0.037; Burke Lateropulsion Scale: U = 47.500, r = −0.50, p = 0.003) and at follow-up (SCP: U = 54.00, r = −0.44, p = 0.008). Pusher behavior had ceased in 6 of 15 participants in the intervention group and 1 of 15 participants in the control group at post test. At follow-up, 9 of 15 and 5 of 15 participants, respectively, no longer exhibited the behavior.ConclusionsTwo weeks of RAGT seems to persistently reduce pusher behavior, possibly by recalibrating the disturbed inner reference of verticality. The potential benefits of RAGT on pusher behavior and verticality perception require further investigation.Trial registrationGerman Clinical Trials Register (registration number: DRKS00003444).Classification of evidenceThis study provides Class II evidence that RAGT is beneficial to reduce pusher behavior in patients with stroke.

Resumen
“Pusher syndrome” is a clinical disorder following left or right brain damage in which patients actively push away from the nonhemiparetic side, leading to a loss of postural balance. The mechanism underlying this disorder and its related anatomy have only recently been identified. Investigation of patients with severe pushing behavior has shown that perception of body posture in relation to gravity is altered. The patients experience their body as oriented “upright” when the body actually is tilted to the side of the brain lesion (to the ipsilesional side). In contrast, patients with pusher syndrome show no disturbed processing of visual and vestibular inputs determining visual vertical. These new insights have allowed the authors to suggest a new physical therapy approach for patients with pusher syndrome where the visual control of vertical upright orientation, which is undisturbed in these patients, is the central element of intervention.

Resumen
Pusher behavior (PB) is a disorder of postural control affecting patients with encephalic lesions. This study has aimed to identify the brain substrates that are critical for the occurrence of PB, to analyze the influence of the midline shift (MS) and hemorrhagic stroke volume (HSV) on the severity and prognosis of the PB. We identified 31 pusher patients of a neurological unit, mean age 67.4±11.89, 61.3% male. Additional neurological and functional examinations were assessed. Neuroimaging workup included measurement of the MS, the HSV in patients with hemorrhagic stroke, the analysis of the vascular territory, etiology and side of the lesion. Lesions in the parietal region (p=0.041) and thalamus (p=0.001) were significantly more frequent in PB patients. Neither the MS nor the HSV were correlated with the PB severity or recovery time.

Resumen
In this paper we propose a new active control strategy to control the dynamic behavior of flexible structures: fuzzy modal control (FMC). This strategy, based on the modal state feedback of the structure, uses independent fuzzy controllers for each mode to be controlled. This method is applied to a flexible beam controlled by a transverse plane of action using piezoelectric actuators. First of all, a model of a piezoelectric actuator is proposed, followed by the formulation of a finite-element model of the mechanical structure/actuator. The model is then fitted using an identification of the characteristics. After modal reduction, the FMC is carried out in two steps: the control of the beam in only one transverse direction by a piezoelectric pusher, then in two transverse directions by two orthogonal piezoelectric pushers located on the same plane. A digital controller was built in the Matlab®-Simulink® environment, and implemented on specialized cards in order to perform the corresponding experiment. The method is validated by comparing the results between the simulation and the experiment.

Resumen
We report a sequential neuroimaging study in a 48-years-old man with a history of chronic hypertension and lacunar strokes involving the ventral lateral posterior nucleus of the thalamus. The patient developed mild hemiparesis and severe contraversive pushing behavior after an acute hemorrhage affecting the right thalamus. Following standard motor physiotherapy, the pusher behavior completely resolved 3 months after the onset and, at that time, he had a Barthel Index of 85, although mild left hemiparesis was still present. This case report illustrates that pushing behavior itself may be severely incapacitating, may occur with only mild hemiparesis and affected patients may have dramatic functional improvement (Barthel Index 0 to 85) after resolution pushing behavior without recovery of hemiparesis.

Resumen
Background and Purpose Considerable disagreement exists among researchers with regard to the prevalence, pathophysiology, and treatment of “pusher behavior” (PB), partly because of different testing procedures. This study was primarily aimed at establishing cutoff scores for and the construct validity of the Scale for Contraversive Pushing (SCP). The prevalence of PB in people with right- and left-brain lesions also was investigated. Subjects and Methods The study subjects were 105 consecutive patients with recent stroke. Two methods were used to diagnose PB: clinical examination and SCP score with 3 different cutoff points—an SCP total score of greater than 0 (Crit_1), subscores in each section of the scale of greater than 0 (Crit_2), and subscores in each section of the scale of ≥1 (Crit_3). Clinical and SCP diagnoses were independently made by different examiners. The Cohen κ coefficient was used to determine the agreement between clinical and SCP diagnoses. The construct validity of the SCP was estimated by calculation of Spearman rank correlation coefficients for SCP and balance, mobility, and functional scores. Results The agreement between clinical and SCP diagnoses was low (κ=.212) when Crit_1 was used. Crit_2 led to the highest agreement with the clinical diagnosis (κ=.933). However, only Crit_3, although globally less accurate (κ=.754), ensured no false-positive results. The construct validity of the SCP was demonstrated by significant (P<.001) moderate to high correlations with mobility (rho=.595), functional (rho=.632), and balance (rho=.666) scores. The prevalence of PB was not influenced by the side of the lesion. A limitation of the study was that the reliability of the clinical examination method was not investigated. Discussion and Conclusion The results support the validity of the SCP and suggest the need to choose different SCP cutoff criteria (Crit_2 or Crit_3) according to the aim of the evaluation.

Resumen
Masonry is common used for classic building construction, but is known for its seismic vulnerability. The existing regulations in Serbia (Eurocode) demand control of the behaviour of masonry buildings exposed to seismic actions. For this it is most convenient to use, for engineering purposes, non-linear static (pushover) analysis. With the aim of increasing knowledge about the seismic behavior of different structural configurations created by upgrading an existing residential two-story masonry building, a comparative study was conducted on four different proposed models. This paper presents the most significant results of pushover analyses performed on a spatial model of the structure of the existing building that needs to be upgraded and on spatial models of the structures with an additional floor level and different positioning of vertical confining elements while evaluating their seismic capacity in compliance with the regulations. Two different lateral load distributions are assumed in computation since the appropriate lateral load profile is not always obvious. Based on various approaches, there are different identified responses.

Resumen
This is a study of horizontal and vertical solidarity within a national labour movement, based on a nationwide survey of members of affiliated unions of the Congress of South African Trade Unions. On the one hand, the survey reveals relatively high levels of vertical and horizontal solidarity, despite the persistence of some cleavages on gender and racial lines. On the other hand, the maintenance and deepening of existing horizontal and vertical linkages in a rapidly changing socio-economic context, represents one of many challenges facing organized labour in an industrializing economy. COSATU’s strength is contingent not only on an effective organizational capacity, and a supportive network linking key actors and interest groupings, but also on the ability to meet the concerns of existing constituencies and those assigned to highly marginalized categories of labour.

Resumen
We performed coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations of DNA polymers pushed inside infinite open chiral and achiral channels. We investigated the behavior of the polymer metrics in terms of span, monomer distributions and changes of topological state of the polymer in the channels. We also compared the regime of pushing a polymer inside the infinite channel to the case of polymer compression in finite channels of knot factories investigated in earlier works. We observed that the compression in the open channels affects the polymer metrics to different extents in chiral and achiral channels. We also observed that the chiral channels give rise to the formation of equichiral knots with the same handedness as the handedness of the chiral channels.

Resumen
Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah/MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, thereafter called MSMEs) is one of the business sectors playing significant roles in the economic growth of Indonesia. The increase of MSMEs pushes the State Minister for Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to encourage MSME performance by enhancing their quality. One attempt taken is to apply information and communication technology, especially social media, to promote the products. In reality, many MSMEs lack sufficient understanding of social media usage in business. As a result, many MSMEs have difficulties identifying online media consumer behavior in developing their marketing strategies. This researchattempts to map consumer behavior in social mediaand explores how MSMEs can capitalize on the marketing powers of social media. This research uses a netnography method for mapping online consumer behaviour. Primary data are collected from observations of online interaction between consumers and sellers (MSMEs). The results are analyzed using Philip Kotler’s Consumer Behavior Model and Kozinet’s Online Consumer model.

Resumen
Seismic codes use the behaviour factor to consider the ductility and the structure's non-linearity to improve the system's overall performance. Generally, Steel moment-resisting frames are characterized by a relatively high period showing high deformability and, foreseen that with stringent damageability criteria, the adopted behaviour factor might not optimally be utilized for achieving better performance of the frames. The design is generally governed by stiffness, leaving behind a complex structural system where the capacity design rules are disturbed and therefore necessitates to relax the drift limits for such frames. Given this and with extensive parametric analysis, the current paper aims to examine the behaviour factor of steel Moment Resisting Frames (MRFs). The parametric analysis has been conducted on rigid steel MRFs of 9, 7, and 5 storeys with bay 4 different bay widths of 9.15 m, 7.63 m, 6.54 m, and 5.08 m. Perimeter frame configuration has been designed using 4 different behaviour factors (q = 6.5, 4, 3, and 2) for a total number of 144 cases. Static nonlinear analysis has been conducted, and consequently, the behaviour factors have been examined. It has been observed that compatibility is required while choosing the drift limit for an assumed ductility class of the code. Doi: 10.28991/cej-2020-SP(EMCE)-08 Full Text: PDF

Resumen
This paper presents possibilities offered by the constructivist approach to analysing behaviours and attitudes of Eurosceptical MEPs towards the EU’s external actions. The analysis conducted in this paper shows that constructivism is very useful in explaining why Eurosceptics’ behaviour is often unusual in the field of European foreign policy. It also shows the evolution of Eurosceptic attitudes and identity. The inner organisation of the European Parliament is the main reason of this situation. The behaviour of small EP political groups is limited by the EP statute. It pushes Eurosceptical politicians to take part in debates within the EP framework, which has a significant influence on their identity. The final part of the paper shows the consequences of this process. The first of these are the “discursive nodal points” present in the Eurosceptical debates. The second is a “diplomatic republic of Europe” built between Eurosceptics in the EP. The third and final consequence is a “European public sphere” which emerges because Eurosceptics take part in EP debates.

Resumen
The behaviour of soap films pushed through tubes at large velocities, up to several metres per second, is investigated in this paper. The film shape deviates from its equilibrium configuration perpendicular to the walls and gets curved downstream. A simple model relates the radius of curvature of the film to the friction in the lubrication films touching the wall, and the scaling of Bretherton (J. Fluid Mech., vol. 10, 1961, pp. 166–188) holds up to surprisingly high velocities, at which the capillary and Weber numbers are no longer small parameters. The tube geometry is varied and accounted for through the notion of hydraulic diameter. A limit of stability of the films, beyond which they burst or evolve unsteadily, is predicted, and it quantitatively captures the observations. The new questions raised by our results on the dissipation in soap films are discussed, especially the role of Plateau borders and inertial effects.
