Texto completoProduce a complex historical report, heterodox and heterogeneous from psychoanalysis meanders in Curitiba, by analyzing documents, acquired information from newspapers and performing interviews, are the main goal of this thesis. This is an unprecedented proposal aiming to minimize the significative lack of researches in this area about Curitiba as well as to contribute to the theoretical construction work regarding the way how the psychoanalysis is thought and practiced in Brazil. Therefore, it was opted to divide the work in three chapters. In the first chapter, it is detailed the used methodological, theoretical ethical procedures. The second chapter proposes a reflection about the three main moments of psychoanalysis\' institutionalization process, in which was verified that Freud endow, consciously or unconsciously, the classic psychoanalytical historiography with the ideas from the splendid isolation and resistance to psychoanalysis. In the third chapter, divided in two principal parts, it is related histories of the psychoanalysis in Curitiba. Some of these narratives are permeated by parts of the history of the city. As the background of these histories are two modernization processes of Curitiba. The first part presents some of processes that give origin to institutionalization of psychoanalysis in the city, contemplating since mid 1960s to 1975, year that represents the arriving of the lacanian movement in the city. The present work made possible a more clear mapping of the transit of psychoanalysis by the city of Curitiba and the option of using the psychoanalysis culture and not only the institutionalized psychoanalysis as a parameter for research allowed the knowledge of how in curitibian society, especially in a so-called intellectual circles, the growth of psychoanalytic culture helped to shape, little by little, a cultural ground and a favorable tradition for the institutionalization of psychoanalysis, especially from mid 1970s, the moment when it occurs the expansion of psychoanalysis in the city

Texto completoThis paper aims to pose questions about the subject , about society and about the symptoms of culture by means of mutual relations between the subjectivity of the contemporary subject and the cinematographical work. To this end, a bibliographical research about the psychoanalitical history and concepts in Freud and Lacan is carried out. This research introduces a brief history of cinema and a few themes that are entwined with the seventh art and psychoanalysis. Subsidies in the field research are also sought in order to develop the objectives. "O Homem que Copiava" (The Man who Copied ) is the chosen work for the field research considering that it is a contemporary Brazilian film whose characters are the ordinary youth living their daily lives. The methodology for the analysis of the data collected in the survey about the film carried out with adolescents is performed by means of a metapsychological essay. The reading of the bibliographical, documental and field research will instrumentalise the researcher’s transference that, along with the subjective implications, will analyze the text constructed by the collected data in order to identify the significants that may be used for the composition of the metapsychological essay. The significants found in the speech of the participants: false, true, money, violence, banalized, nonsense, father, kill, drugs, happy, poor thing, necessity, law, weak, safety, have been used to develop the metapsychological essay. In view of the bibliographical, documental research and of the reading made by the teenagers about the film "O homem que copiava"( The man Who Copied) in the field research, it might be deduced that it is possible to derive subjective effects from the various aspects of the current ideals in the culture, such as the nonrecognition of the symbolic debt to their ancestors, the apology of individualism in detriment of tradition, the decline of the paternal role, the search for a totalizing pleasure, the nonrecognition of limits. Therein lies the current ethical crises in terms of failure of the basic values existing in comtemporaneity.

Texto completoThe obscurantism of the lacanian text, the several institutional crises and the difficulty of the metapsychological vocabulary may be overcome in favor of the theoretical contributions that the lacanism could provide to the culture historiography. This thesis argues that this assumption was already present in the multidisciplinary propositions of the Annales school and in the so called social texts by Freud. Consequently, a progressive strategy that would be useful to new readers of the metapsychological subjects, as much as, to the more experienced ones, the first two chapters are an introduction to the lacanian jargon, the third and fourth chapters, are a reflection about the state of the art, whilst the last two parts are about metapsychology applied to the capitalist discourse, one of the main contributions of the lacanian oriented psychoanalysis to the so called social knowledges.

This thesis identifies in the current psychoanalytic literature the diffusion of a common argument that states that the decline of the paternal function in the contemporaneity – considered as a cultural mutation – is correlative to new symptoms and clinical forms. According to this argument, the practice of psychoanalysis nowadays encounters specific and unprecedented difficulties. In this work, this correlation is critically investigated and its methodological and epistemological aspects are emphasized. Understanding the relationship of Lacan's psychoanalysis with science is essential for this purpose, since it provides the theoretical tools that support this criticism and allows the construction of a structural topology: a method that approaches localized structures in a way that is opposite to the way of how contemporary issues of psychoanalysis are being developed. I consider that the universalist and totemic hypothesis of culture, as well as the tripartite diagnostic rationality (neurosis, psychosis, perversion) that it sustains, are the insufficient foundation of the argument widespread in literature. Thus, within the structural topology context, the localized solutions are proposed as alternatives for the creation or emission of existences, which justifies them as a third way of the structure, neither empirical nor formalist, but universalizing in a sense that is opposite to the generalist and inductive universalizable. Finally, examples of uses of the structural topology in localized regions of the psychoanalytic theory are proposed: the interpretive cut, whose support is the Moebius band, and the relation between theory and psychoanalytic technique, sustained by the toric structure of the Other as incomplete universe of speech.

Texto completoThe present work intends to investigate how music appears in the way of being of a pianos teacher in dialogue with her student (researcher). The motivating questions were those connected with the psychic phenomena involved in the constitution of self and how music can promote such event, as well as the importance of culture in the constitution of human being from music perspective. The investigation was based on the pianos teacher biography and was made from spontaneous conversations between teacher and student/researcher. These conversations were then registered by the researcher, compounding a narrative with the memory of such conversations enriched with comments and further theoretical reflections. In this way, the present work was realized using a dialogic perspective and written around thematic cores. The following themes were discussed: memory, the importance of teacher-student meeting, the perception of reality and the hyletics phenomena, and the theme of music as a part of the personal idiom, concept developed by Gilberto Safra. In the end, the role of music is discussed and considered as a field of experiences capable of connecting human being to the so-called memory of the originary. In this way, music can cure from the ethical breaks that threaten the human condition itself in the contemporary world

Texto completoOn the context of the new temporality of flexible capitalism, based on short-term conditions, volatility, flexibility and inability to distinguish working time from free-time, this study aims to highlight the enormous challenge for people today, that is, to build a coherent narrative for their lives, especially in the labor area. The unbelief of the grand narratives (or metanarratives), the loss of traditional narrative and a sort of symbolic misery, addressed in this thesis and based on the considerations of Walter Benjamin, Richard Sennett and Sigmund Freud, were conditions underlined as predicates of contemporary culture, thus triggering consequences on psychological scope. The various forms of psychological distress at the present time point, as a whole, to major difficulties in the symbolization; this feature directs us to the traumatic issue, as proposed by Freudian theory. Nevertheless, if we find on one hand potentially traumatic conditions from the new forms of labor regulation at the present time, on the other hand it is possible to hypothesize that today man - immersed in new temporalities and new rules of contemporary organizational culture but still eager to get some direction in their relations with work - search for \"borrowed narratives\", although fragmented and impoverished in its symbolic dimension. The peculiarities of this loan were considered from some elements of the book The Servant: A Simple Story about the True Essence of Leadership. We examine the prescriptive writing of this self-help best-seller literature under that loan hypothesis, new models for the man today, especially regarding a \"self-creation ideology.\" It was from this context that we come to the conclusion that the man adrift - coined so by Sennett - is set between omnipotence and helplessness

The research reflects about digital games as a product and object of culture construing the elements of its constitution from the psychoanalysis point of view as happened previously in the literature, the theater and the cinema. It construes its methodological course from Arlete dos Santos Petry reflection in "Heavy Rain or What We can Experience with Narratives in Digital Games" (2011), in which digital games and their constituent structures are thought of as enablers agents of subject emotional experiences and fundamental reflections, both for the players and for developers. I will present the concepts and content defined by Freudian Psychoanalysis base that may be present in digital games, applying them on the elements present in a digital game that starts as the point of the work of Lewis Carroll, the game "Alice Madness Returns". Based on the connexion between the concepts organized by Psychoanalysis and the development of the game performed by the developer/author, the search goes so far as to consider the elements present in the digital games as symbolic structures that are part of culture and human development. It concludes with the need for further study of relations between games, culture, design and narrative with the Psychoanalysis knowledges about art in general

Texto completoThis research work intends to think about childhood obesity in the light of the dialogue between psychoanalysis and culture. Such a dialogue is reflected throughout the web of probabilities woven with and around the word, that is, in the field of the discourse and psychoanalysis. The itinerary to be traced will be constituted of lines that will take the reader to travel a way trespassed by the compositions of research, which have been built based on a clinical experience with three mother-child pairs, accomplished in the outpatient clinic of a hospital in Porto Alegre. The choice for the theme of this thesis was based on a genuine drive towards openness to listening, that will be, for the purposes of this research, called inventive. The inventive listening, as we call it, brings in its core idea the research method in psychoanalysis. Our proposal to unwind obesity in childhood is characterized by the desire to problematize its articulation with lines of force that constitute the subject that suffers. Among constructions and symptoms, impoverishment of experience, lack of playing and culture criticism, between inhibition and anguish, between anguish and abandonment, between the constitution of the subject and of the word, between compulsion and repetition, we understand that the structuring of such fundamental concepts to psychoanalysis can present itself by means of creativity to allow fluid, dynamic and ventilated reading.

This work aims to show how the relationship between social psychology and individual psychology is thought about in Freudian theory. It broaches the issue separating nature and culture, which is dealt with in Freudian discourse as fundamental to the makeup of the subject. Along these lines, we highlight two psychoanalytic concepts that surround the problem: narcissism and identification. The theory of narcissism in its intersubjective dimension provides the basis of examining the opposition between these psychologies and a metaphysiological foundation of social bonding, and therefore, of the very makeup of culture in the Freudian perspective. Beginning with the preliminary analysis of Freud s entry into the discussion of phylogenesis, we go through a discussion of the theory of narcissism through which the death instinct takes the stage. We then discuss this concept in its essential dimension - aggressiveness considering the context of reformulations in the psychic apparatus. Finally, we discuss the conception of the psychoanalytic subject as a potential enemy of civilization , of culture as produced by unconscious and irreconcilable conflicts; and the social and individual psychologies as mutually constituting each other

Texto completoThis study addresses the link between adolescents and new audiovisual series. The questions raised about the theme came from listening to young students who sought psychological care in a student assistance sector of a Federal Institute of Education. This research is based on the bet that the study of these cultural productions may allow us to know a little more about these young people that access them. To delimit the research object, only one of these series was chosen: Breaking Bad. It drew attention because of its appeal to the public, as well as for its plot that points to a certain malaise, unusual for the series usually accessed by adolescents until recently. Due to this, alongside working with the concept of Adolescence (understood here, according to the presuppositions of psychoanalytic theory, as a psychic operation, a period of recapitulation, an afterwards the mirror stage), there is a theoretical articulation with the Freudian concept of Malaise in culture. Also, as a methodological reference for the analysis of the work, we use studies that establish dialogues between Psychoanalysis and Cinema, conceiving Cinema as language and taking the cinematographic work as filmic text. Thus, although some articulations about the narrative are made, we prioritized the analysis of the operations through which filmic signs refer to each other, provoking effects of meaning. For this analysis fragments of the Pilot Episode of Breaking Bad were used in its possible associations to other scenes from other episodes. Finally, this analysis looks at film elements that stood out during the series and how they make it possible to think about the malaise in the culture and the subject of the contemporary adolescence. Those reflections highlight the spatial and temporal dimensions, which are profusely explored through formal resources present in the work and allow various points of dialogue with the theme of adolescence. It is also observed that, according to the approach given to some scenes, these appear to be able to evoke the issue of malaise (here understood as topological, mark of a place, something of the spatial order), which is already widely present in narrative aspects of the series. Thus, we bring a discussion that reveals some interweaving between Breaking Bad, Malaise in Culture and Adolescence.

Texto completoThe Lyotardian concept of "postmodernity" refers to the current crisis, namely a crisis of the "meta-narratives" organizing modernity, and the resulting social, epistemic and discursive order. Faced with the current hegemonic attempt of biomedicine and cognitivism, which propose a new scientific myth, that of transhumanism, and play the game of an increased "bio-power", an alternative approach would be to converge "deconstructive" readings, who, from psychoanalysis to philosophy through a certain anthropology, are entitled to an approach in terms of "pharmakon", that is to say of ambivalence of the poison and the remedy, between Eros and Thanatos. The search for limits is the contemporary condition of the "uncertain individual", eternal adolescent. Here we find the "new psychic economy", making a sign towards a new clinical figure, that of the "borderline” patient, which knows multiple avatars and resists classifications.A number of essays on "discontent" intermingle individual clinical and cultural speculation, based on the key concept of "desymbolization". The lack of Law and the symbolic Father, however, seems an insufficient explanation, as does the reverse reading that leads to the libertarian headlong pursuit. Our reading of Lacan refuses to be part of this Old / Modern dualism, and focuses on the category of Ego Ideal and "unary trait" which suggests a knot of the symbolic with the imaginary, far from opposing them; it plays a vital role, allowing the symbolic to register. Symbolization is thus a process rather than a state, in which the subject is confronted, in ambivalence, with the question of its limits. He must convert the ideal Ego into the Ego Ideal. This is what myths allow to do, they are used to support, as mediating totems, the work of subjectivation, by engaging subjects in an identificatory and "transfictional" process that produces creative effects. In our era of “disenchantment of the world”, the available myths are only quasi-myths, "evasive" myths, against the background of discontent, and death of God. But popular literature, especially the one which is aimed at adolescents, like some vampire stories, offers "narcissistic romances", where Oedipus is now in the background. It revisits the character of Hamlet.Paradoxically, the figures of the mystics, adepts of limit-experiences and impregnated with ambivalence, close to Lacan by their "negative" theology of kenosis and their "apophatic" word, which cultivates loss, also find a new relevance, as well as the figure of the Apostle Paul, read by Agamben. His christology of the weak, depressed God, subject to lack, resonates like a deconstruction. It opens to a "time of the end", "time that remains", which suspends identities, defuses the powers and makes possible, perhaps, a "promise" and a "faith" in the sense of Derrida, in a ambivalent logic of the sacred where the Ideal is close to the abject. Therefore, should not the cure, by renouncing a too nosographic approach, and too much centered on the symbolic castration, endeavor to find the fruitful and invigorating trace of the unary trait, that is to say, to leave a place to the imaginary? Thus the analysis would play the role of a kind of "Camera Lucida": by letting out the "myths".But it is perhaps at the price of the risk, that of the fall, of the "skandalon", that one can hope that the subject is deprived of the ideal Ego and its traps, to effect another knotting, never foreseeable nor assured in advance, and always in the neighborhood of the "hole": a nomination, a sinthome

Texto completoThis research presented a study on the teacher be based on theoretical psychoanalysis. The interest for this study arose from the practice of the researcher as a teacher. Aimed to understand what being a teacher, and the teacher-student relationship in kindergarten, contributing significantly to the teaching practice and the teaching-learning process. In Brazil, recent public policies for education, point to the importance of collective work for teachers and students. In this sense, this research located in the area of Human Sciences, relied on studies of major theorists in the field of groupality such as Rivi?re (1986), Bion (1975), Anzieu (1993) and Ka?s (1997), to understand be the teacher within a psychoanalytic perspective group. From the interface between Psychoanalysis and Education, was proposed through this theoretical reflection, thinking about the possible use of psychoanalysis in schools, as well as the challenges and prospects of this profession. We conclude that the possible path includes a practice that allows profisssional spaces and moments to share experiences and knowledge free movement of teachers across operating groups.

Texto completoP. Dirgėla’s „Kingdom” reflects the conversions of a historical novel. P. Dirgėla’s literary images and basis of thinking is related with cyclical processes in the history of the state (when the past returns to the present) as well as the interdependence of processes or phenomenon’s. „The Kingdom”can be understood as the interactive structure of myth and history and the set up of the Kingdom’s space as mitohistorical reality. The symbolic structure of reality presented in the „Kingdom” largely coherent with the mythical, historical, social or other structures of reality. There was selected only one of the most significant works of the symbolic epicenter of the procedure: a mythical marine and the rising image of Lithuania as mythical marine state. The aim of this paper is to identify the reality of Lithuania as the mythical marine state and discuss its relationship with other symbolic structures in P. Dirgėla’s novel „The Kingdom”. The writing of the work is based on modern theories of myth, hermeneutical and psychoanalytical interpretation of myth reality, historical and cultural interpretation of literature as well as on the concept of history and literature body structure which is found in J. Lacan and other author’s works.

Texto completoThis work aims to understand the possibility to promote a formative education which could offer conditions for some resistance to consumer and advertising culture, with the intention of withdrawing the subjects out of a passive and spectator attitude to a creative and engaged one. At first we aimed to carry out an advertising and media literacy which would skill the youth to deal with these stimuli in an enlightened and attentive way. Our theoretical and field surveys revealed that this task could provoke psychic resistance related to withdrawing what we like or what we believe we like which involved dreams based on having and looking like and brands consumption. These aspects may be understood as some of the pillars of culture industry ideology and logics in late capitalism. The theoretical concepts which guided this work were administered society and culture industry as presented by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer from the Frankfurt School, Adorno´s proposals for formative education which could work as antidote to this industry, as well as the concept of ideology as articulated after Marx by Wilhelm Reich and retaken by René Kaës. Kaës´ Psychoanalytical Theory of Groups was the basis to think the formation of social ties and groups facilitation in a transforming perspective. In order to analyze the youth discourse we are based on the Freudian concept of perlaboration, on studies about adolescent problems by Monica do Amaral, Jeammet and Corcos and others. Gilles Lipovetskys look upon contemporary phenomena and the so-called media-fashion culture were important to update a discussion about consumer society. As a result of our field survey held with young people from the 3rd grade of high school in a public school in São Paulo, Brazil, we concluded that a formal apprehension of what lies behind the logic of advertising is fast and precise. However, it implies a deconstruction which can be threatening and painful. It has to be looked at carefully as it refers to a structural deconstruction of what is understood as our environment, and so some dreams may fade away. Although borrowed from the culture industry, these dreams exist and guide many of us. The work of a critical education towards consumption and advertising must therefore overcome an instrumental approach and focus on the strengthening of the self by means of activities to promote self-awareness and intra / intersubjective transformation, preferably acting in transitional space through groups facilitation.

Texto completoThis research begun by asking why education has been related more to its obstacles than to its opportunities. Why has education been seing as an event that happens with to such a difficult? To answer these questions, we used a psychoanalytic concept that tells us about the encounter of the subject of the desire with culture, which allow us to a reading of its crossings and implications for subjectivity and education. The identification of modern pedagogy to the discourse of science in the school has forged a scenario marked by segregation and intolerance for differences - despite the \'inclusion discourse\' to point the opposite. Given this situation, the subjects have been responding with their disengagement, dismating education of its conditions of possibility. The analysis of an institutional arrangement allowed us monitoring a modality of clinical response, which aims to restore responsibility and involvement, which are indispensable elements to the learnings and to the encounter with other in the social ties.

Texto completoUmbanda can be considered a religion that portrays through its rituals the African roots of our society. The present study aimed to investigate the construction of affective and filiation bonds in the rituals of an umbandist family. To this end, based on Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, it was examined into what extent the African-brazilian ancestry experiences are able to repare and consolidate affective and filiation bonds through a symbolic conception of family (a família de santo). The method used is named participant listening. This method combines psychoanalytic technical resources, including attention to the mode of inclusion of the researcher in the field and attention to transference aspects with ethnographic procedures. The research was conducted in a Temple, named Seara da Esperança and Lar Dona Cotinha, social institution administered by the family under study, both located in the city of São Paulo. About the concept of family, it was observed an African-brazilian matrix of understanding which reflects in the meaning of work in the social institution. The spiritual guides of the temple interpret themselves as \"parents\" and ancestral spirits and the faithful and other members of the community as their \"children.\" These latter are defined as children but also as ancestors potentially caretakers, since these positions may alternate in the chain generation of the family. This representation of person and family is not only crucial to the understanding of the relationships within the family but also broadens the understanding of the work meaning with children in shelter, translating into inclusive social knowledge and practices that deserve the attention of an Afro-Brazilian Ethnopsychology

Texto completoWith several studies trying to understand which are the changes in contemporary subjectivities, we try to define what are saying the authors that advocate a new subjectivity in today\'s times. Starting from a brief literature review on the subject, we then selected a book from each of these three authors (Joel Birman, Nahman Armony and Jean-Pierre Lebrun) and carefully analyzed them seeking to delimit, in his speeches, which places were set for this subjectivity, culture, family, psychoanalyst and so on. This analytical work was carried out according to Institutional Discourse Analysis (IDA) which allowed us to work the texts of psychoanalytic authors without having to agree with the assumptions of psychoanalysis. The analysis achieved results on two fronts: showed some of the discursive strategies used by the authors to legitimize their findings and concluded that the contemporary subject these authors is always described in a naturalized way, as a version that has something more or less than the \"classic subject\" of Freud\'s time. In the texts of Birman and Lebrun, the analysis showed that the subject now, in these speeches, no longer has what defines the \"real subject\"; while in the text Armony, the subject is outlined as the one who finally was able to develop completely, the so-called \"mild borderline\". In addition to the theoretical arguments, such conclusions are supported by the construction of a privileged place for the author: in the speeches analyzed the place of the author is a privileged speech, the place of those who know what it says, that see \"beyond appearances\", that is well read, an experienced clinician; this place more than any theoretical articulation or clinical demonstration, is the support of the statements presented in the texts

Texto completoThe Nabokov studies have tended to ignore the possible influence of the German culture on Nabokov’s works. This position springs from the writer’s often quoted words, which stress that, although he lived in Germany, he could not speak German and avoided any intercourse with the German world. Russian emigration certainly constituted a state within the state but the borders between the Russian and German worlds were not so impenetrable. Nabokov spent fifteen years in Berlin and his books were translated and published in German by a German publishing house. There were several projects for screen adaptations of his works, in particular for the novel King, Queen, Knave. While in Berlin, he wrote at least two novels, King, Queen, Knave and Kamera Obskura (Laughter in the Dark for the revisited version by Nabokov), and a series of short stories which describe the German world. All this undermines the principle established about the ignorance of German influence. Our thesis aims at reading Nabokov’s works in the context of the German contemporary art, in particular Expressionist aesthetics. We consider three major issues, namely the distortion of the psyche, which leads to an inner division of the self, the ambivalence of the female figure and the representation of the big city. Thus an extensive analysis allows us to reveal links with German silent cinema and with painting which had eluded researchers so far. The present work aims at introducing a new dimension in the reading of Nabokov’s works and at restoring them to the cultural context of Berlin in which they were created

Texto completoThe present study makes an analysis about the information conveyed by the press concerning to the consumption of psychoactive substances in an environment of culturally established tendencies in Brazilian society. It aggregates 110 reports that discuss about different products and medicines, individual e ethical matters, to develop a focalized reading in the light of language sciences, especially psychoanalytic theory. The piece of work is shown in three parts, which organize theoretical points and give support to the hypothesis of the investigation. The first part discusses the social pharmacothymie, concept that concerns the dissertation, exploring locations where one can find a cultural consumption of substances. This introduces medical language as consensus and disciplinary paradigm in reference to healthy life and moral virtues. This part develops a reflection on the drug stigma, where consumption and dependence are related to a disposition to take medicine. In the second part, the dissertation states the matter of temporality in the universe of consumption and of youth and body cultures emerging in the last centuries. It comments on the time dimension inside a logical frame that brings the subject concerned to a present elasticity. From this point, the timeless notion in the unconscious justifies peculiar pharmacotymic disposition and significant effects. The third and last part consists in the reading over the excerpts from the reports, systematized in the corpus of the research, and their implications regarding the theoretical contents previously developed. The analysis focuses on the significant remarks and effects united in topics of investigation, circumscribing a pharmacotymic subject as the symptom of social mechanisms, the hypothesis of the study.

Texto completoThe research presents reflections, analyses and experiences focused on children‟s looks over the city of Porto Alegre based on transdisciplinary articulations between psychoanalysis, education, art, culture, history and urbanism. The project City of Children was the field in which artistic and ludic activities open to children in public and cultural sites of the city were carried out. The processes of collective creation, temporal extension, repetition, listening the children and recording their production were the most noteworthy paths of the work. The experience of City of Children highlighted sites in which children found the possibility of carrying out creative processes in the field of non-formal education. The children‟s trajectories were tied to the city‟s memory and to the social bonds that developed through their elaborations and personal experiences. Infantile looks over the city reveal that beyond real mirrors there are possibilities of experiencing the city with the creation of systematic collective bonds, from imaginary and symbolic networks that grant consistency to the constituting place of childhood in the city‟s public and cultural spaces.

Texto completoThe study aimed to identify how categories individual and society they relate and how they are theorized in Freud s work, as well as reflect on such elements from the particular conception of: the Society of Critical Theory proposed by the first generation of the Frankfurt School, especially Adorno and Marcuse. To this end, they were selected three representative works of Freud s thinking about the relationship between individual and society, which were: Totem and Taboo , Psychology of Groups and Analysis of the Ego and Malaise in Civilization . This material was analyzed according to the contributions of Adorno and Marcuse. The study indicates that, for the frankfurtian authors, culture appears as a factor mediating the relationship between individual and society to Freud, however, the author defends the cultural processes at the expense of freedom and autonomy of individuals. Such aspect constitutes itself how one of the contradictions of Freud s though, given that psychoanalysis is guided in the liberal model. Such element turns out in critical of decay of such model of constitution of the individual in the transition from competitive capitalism to monopolist. At the same time, the works of Freud suggests that the contradictions of culture end up being subjective to the individual. In addition, the emotional ambivalence generated by the contradictions of culture, is manipulated to become in accession of the individual goals to social goals. Adorno and Marcuse realize that the Freudian model points to the liberal individual and seek to reinterpret psychoanalysis, each in its own way, to the light of the transformations of capitalism and new social cultural settings. It is considered the opinion of recent authors, suported by lacanians concepts which differ from the Frankfurtians, disagreeing that the structural conception of the subject in its relation to language, implies the denial of the historicity of social bonds in which they occur

Texto completoThe main goal of this paper is to discuss some relations that may be established between the subject of sexuality and culture through Freud’s work, more especifically the so called “first topic” period of his work, which withholds the texts that were published by Freud before the turn of events in the 1920’s. First of all, we will show how the theme of sexuality was since the beggining put in question by freudian psychanalitical theory regarding the clinic – namely, with the emergency, at Freud’s time, of a large number of neurosis cases. In this discussion we will approach the clinic distinction suggested by Freud between psiconeurosis and actual neuroses, delimiting the specificities of this cases and the differences in handling the sexual excitation in both. Afterwards, we will make a collection of the development of a Freudian conception of symptom, through the introductory conferences pronounced by Freud about this subject. In the next chapter, we will discuss the making of a freudian conception of sexuality, more especifically, on how this conception distinguished a lot of that shared by the medical knowledge back then, on how Freud’s fisicalist orientation had an effect on him and how the development of the concept of narcissism took this conception to the next step. In our third chapter, our goal is to narrow the links between the themes of sexuality and culture, through the reading of some sociological Freudian texts. With this end in sight, we will make a rigorous exam of two important texts from Freud’s work, Civilized Sexual Morality and Totem e tabu, so that we can point out the connections between the clinic and the culture through the strife among instinctual demands and the other, represented by the social values. Up next, we will do some observations about sublimation as a valuable instinctual end to the culture, through an exam of the construction of this concept in Freud and by taking the figure of the artist as a reference. In the end, we will make some considerations about the results of our work, emphasizing how we cannot think satisfactorily the clinical setting without a broad knowledge of the factors that condition a particular social estructure.

This work is presented as a point of reflection on the interface between psychoanalysis and religion, based on the dialogue between Sigmund Freud and the psychoanalyst pastor Oskar Pfister. There shall be analyzed the concepts of science and religion referred by both authors in their argumentation in the respective works The future of an illusion and The illusion of a future. This research aims to understand the way those theorists think of culture and its role in the relationship which man establishes with religion. Regarding the concept of illusion, we shall seek to understand its role towards belief, while regarding the concept of sublimation, the cultural processes towards the formation of the religious phenomenon, as well as the transformation of the sexual drive into superior values. As a final contribution to this dialogue, Carlos Dominguez Morano and Antoine Vergote shall reappropriate the Freudian concepts of illusion and sublimation, respectively, pointing to their relevant implications to the relationship between man and the religious experience.

Texto completoThe general propose of this study is to examine how the Freudian psychoanalytical approach could collaborate in the addressing the phenomenon of precariousness of the labor, investigating the contemporary ways of subjectivity construction. We seek a dialogue in psychoanalysis interface, health and work, from a psychoanalytic observation of a case investigated in the Workers Health Surveillance (VST-COVISA) of the city São Paulo, devices featuring analysis of the joint subject and society, and recovering the foundation of the psychoanalytic in dimension extension. The analysis of the organization of the production process, in the case studied, showed that the worker subjected to a precarious working condition with multiple exposures can have a loss in health and an early death. The situation faced in the company was referred to the concept of supply chain that, under the psychoanalytical lens, would reveal a perverse assembly, marked by the bias of bondage and sustained by a kind of manipulation of power in the contemporary society. From the Freudian idea developed in The civilization and its discontents (1930) whereby the work is one of the tools that the man has created to deal with his helplessness (Hilflosigkeit), it was possible to articulate precariousness of the labor, servitude and helplessness

Texto completoLaughter finds in the social the fullest way to manifest itself. Constituted by language, it compliments, denounces and puts forth the multitude of wishes which pass through the symptomatic signs of culture. The pleasure obtained from irony or laughter pleases the ego or the mass, and demands constant repetitions to fulfill the libido. This work is based in the consequences, on the communication field, of the assertive ridendo castigat mores assertion (with laughter the habits are punished). The wit, especially the published ex-professo by the media, obtain not only funny sense as like can name the forbidden true. The main objective of this work, based on the humour studes and the Joke teory of Freud, include the politically incorrect that obtain pleasure in the readres as well inquire the social power. In this case of the brazilian media, three important publications, of different times, are studed: the journal A Manha, of Barão de Itararé; the Pasquim and the piauí magazine, analyzed by psychoanalytical semiotics, as example the pleasure obtained from laught and the social critic act. The first and second chapters contemplate the essence of laughter and its inherently humane quality of creating pleasure. The third and fourth ones treat historical matters of mass communication and the brazilian press, and the fifth and final penetrates in the freudian structure by means of the daily praxis and puts the laughter on a polymorphous position to unveil the malaise in the civilization

Texto completoThis research explores clinical practice of first interviews in two cultural contexts, through the way the analyst accounts for his/her internal psychic development of thought. The data comes from the qualitative analysis of the thematic content of 15 research interviews, performed with psychoanalytic psychotherapists and psychoanalysts with 3 to 37 years of clinical experience, both in France and Quebec. According to the results, the analyst’s internal psychic development of thought would follow a pre-established organic listening structure, of which the level of explicitation would vary with clinical experience. The analyst’s elaboration, both secondary and intuitive, would be based on present and absent clinical material, theory, and clinical experience, always carrying out a form of predictive assessment. Similarly, the analysts would take into account in their decision the assessment of the demand, psychic functioning, and possible meeting within a “transference context”. Psychodynamic hypotheses would be at work as soon as the first interviews, involved in the adjustments of the framework proposed to the patient. The counter-transferential dispositions –projected onto the assessment– would influence the nature of predictions about the outcome of psychoanalytic work. The "desire of the analyst" would clearly influence the evaluation of analytical work opportunities, advantaging favourable assessments or potential evolution, to the detriment of hindering elements. The cultural context would not influence the decision making process, but would modulate the demands and the analyst’s possibilities to answer, opening the door to future line of research
