La agresividad es un comportamiento agonístico importante en los animales, con influencia en la supervivencia y éxito reproductivo de las especies. Los papamoscas (Tyrannidae) exhiben conductas sociales altamente visibles, pero poco se ha documentado sobre su comportamiento agonístico. Registramos una conducta agresiva del mosquero de Hammond (Empidonax hammondii) sobre el sapo pinero (Incilius occidentalis) en un bosque de pino-encino de Omiltemi, Guerrero, México. De acuerdo con nuestra observación y a lo reportado en la literatura para otros mosqueros, E. hammondii puede presentar conductas atípicas relacionadas con el ataque o la depredación de anfibios de talla pequeña.

Abstract Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) is an aggressive disease characterized by chromosomal instability (CIN), whereby cells continuously acquire chromosomal abnormalities that promote therapeutic resistance, immune evasion and metastasis. CIN in cancers also fuels the misplacement of genomic DNA in the form of structural abnormalities of the nucleus, such as micronuclei (MN), that lead to chronic activation of the cytosolic DNA sensing cGAS-STING pathway. However, how chronic cGAS-STING pathway activation is tolerated and shapes the tumor landscape of CINhigh EAC cancers is poorly understood. Using publicly available RNA-seq and genome sequencing data of EAC tumours and esophageal cancer cell lines as well as a panel of EAC cell lines, we demonstrate that the core cGAS-STING pathway machinery is rarely inactivated in EAC despite high levels of baseline CIN and aneuploidy. Through transcriptomic profiling of an isogenic EAC precursor cell line model of variable CIN and cGASKO/WT EAC cell lines we show that both chronic and transient CIN-driven cGAS-STING activation converge on the expression of CXCR1/2 ligands and other pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines rather than typical anti-tumor type I interferon signalling in EAC cells. Indeed, a novel transcriptional signature of cGAS+ micronuclear burden-correlated genes correlates with orthogonal measures of CIN in EAC tumours and esophagogastric cancer cell lines and is associated with an enrichment in myeloid-derived cells as well as poor prognosis. Correspondingly, using multiplexed immunofluorescence (IF) we find that a high preponderance of cGAS+MN and STING expression in human EAC samples is associated with decreased tumor purity, increased myeloid cell and macrophage infiltration, and increased peripheral blood neutrophil counts, indicative of tumor-promoting myeloid inflammation. Ongoing multiplexed IF and single-nuclei RNAseq analysis of cGAS+MNhigh and cGAS+MNlow EAC tumors will further help characterise the components that comprise the CIN EAC tumor microenvironment (TME) and the CIN- and cGAS-STING-dependent cell-cell interactions that govern it. Taken together, our findings provide an explanation for the observed maintenance of cGAS and STING in EAC and identify disruption of cGAS-STING-dependent myeloid cell inflammation and recruitment as a potential therapeutic target for CINhigh EAC. Abstract Background: Why some patients fail or have short lived response to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) immunotherapy remains largely unknown. While baseline molecular assessments have provided clues to prognostic factors, insights into resistance drivers remains elusive. This is partially due to the difficulty in getting access to post progression samples from patients that were either primary resistant or developed acquired resistance after an initial response to ICB. Thus, the tumor-intrinsic and -extrinsic features that are selected for during progression and potentially drive primary and acquired resistance to immunotherapy remain underexplored. Methods: To compare clinical features and immunogenomic drivers of acquired and primary resistance to ICB across major cancers, we analysed and annotated de-identified patient records in the Tempus real-world database. We built an immuno-oncology cohort consisting of >2500 multimodal (DNA, RNA and clinical outcome data) pre-treatment baseline with >1500 post-treatment tumour biopsy samples from mainly NSCLC, TNBC, HNC and Bladder cancer patients. We used bulk RNA-seq data to estimate activation of the hallmark oncogenic pathways and immune cell composition and used panel DNA-seq data (>500 genes) to quantify mutation selection at the gene and pathway levels using dndscv. Results: Compared to acquired, primary resistant patients tended to have a higher observation of liver lesions at progression. Post-ICB, acquired resistant NSCLC and HNC patients showed a significantly inflamed tumour microenvironment (TME) characterised by higher estimation of infiltration of T cells and myeloid cells and higher activation of interferon gamma (IFNg) signalling as compared to primary resistant patients. In addition, in post-ICB acquired resistance in NSCLC we observed selection for mutations in genes involved in known immunomodulatory pathways, including loss-of-function mutations in B2M. Consistently, acquired resistance patients showed stronger selection for mutations in Hedgehog and Notch pathways as compared to primary resistance patients across NSCLC, HNC and TNBC post-ICB. Conclusions: Acquired and primary ICB resistant patients have distinct clinical and molecular features at progression. Their tumours’ TME is fundamentally different with acquired resistance TMEs being infiltrated with immune cells albeit escaped post progression. In addition, ICB selects mutations that potentially activate pathways such as Notch and Hedgehog. This multi-modal Real-World Data with post therapy biopsies has given insights for patient selection strategies and provides rational into combination treatment options for acquired resistant patients. La geomorfometría desempeña un papel fundamental en el estudio y análisis de la superficie terrestre, proporcionando una base conceptual y metodológica para comprender las características del medio físico. En este contexto, las cuencas del río Grijalva y Usumacinta (CGyU), compartidas por México, Guatemala y Belice, destacan por su abundancia hídrica, riqueza natural y alta vulnerabilidad a los eventos hidrometeorológicos extremos. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es la caracterización geomorfométrica de las CGyU. Para ello, se desarrolló la clasificación jerárquica mediante el método de Hammond y se automatizó el proceso utilizando Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) adaptada por Dikau. Los resultados revelaron la existencia de cinco clases principales y dieciocho subclases de formas del terreno en ambas cuencas. Con base en estos hallazgos, podemos concluir que la metodología empleada demostró ser confiable para describir las formas del terreno en estas cuencas. Por tanto, este estudio contribuye al desarrollo de nuevas investigaciones y a la implementación de políticas públicas relacionadas al ordenamiento territorial, la protección civil, la biodiversidad, entre otros. An automated classification of the relief Abstract: Geomorphometry plays a fundamental role in the study and analysis of the earth's surface, providing a conceptual and methodological basis for understanding the characteristics of the physical environment. In this context, the Grijalva and Usumacinta River basins (CGyU), shared by Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, stand out for their water abundance, natural richness, and high vulnerability to extreme hydrometeorological events. The main objective of this research is the geomorphometric characterization of the CGyU. For this purpose, hierarchical classification was developed using Hammond's method and the process was automated using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) adapted by Dikau. The results revealed the existence of five main classes and eighteen subclasses of landforms in both watersheds. Based on these findings, we can conclude that the methodology employed proved to be reliable for describing landforms in these watersheds. Therefore, this study contributes to new research and the implementation of public policies related to land use planning, civil protection, and biodiversity, among others.

<p>En el presente estudio se analiza la dinámica y la estructura del sector laboral del transporte en México, específicamente de los “Conductores de transporte y de maquinaria móvil", así como el impacto del crecimiento económico sobre la demanda de trabajo por categorías de los trabajadores de dicho sector de acuerdo a la Clasificación Única de Ocupaciones del sector laboral mexicano. Se utiliza la metodología presentada por Kato (2004) siguiendo a Sydsaeter y Hammond (1995) para determinar la elasticidad producto del empleo para el periodo 1996-2012, haciendo uso de microdatos de la Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares (ENIGH) publicados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).</p>

SUMMARYIntroduction: Formulas of ideal body weight (IBW) including the body mass index (BMI) of 22 kg/m2 are used under the assumption to provide a healthy weight. Objective: We compare the perceived ideal body weight (PIBW) with the calculated IBW by formulas and the BMI of 22. Methods: We recruited 705 women (20-25 y). Six common formulas and 2 published equations by our team were used. Results: Group regression analysis determined that including the frame size improves the agreement of formulas of Robinson et al, Hammond and Hamwi with the PIBW (p>0.05). Individually, the concordance analysis (higher % of differences <2 kg: PIBW - IBW by formula), determined that for a measured BMI <20, only the Faspyn 1 formula needs to be adjusted by frame size; while Robinson et al, Hammond, Tokunaga (BMI of 22), Faspyn 2 (BMI of 22) and Broca, are equivalent with the PIBW in different intervals of BMI. Conclusions: According to the BMI perceived as overweight (23.8 kg/m2) and perceived as ideal (21.1 kg/m2), caution is suggested when using the IBW formulas for BMI of 22 as a diagnosis. The IBW formulas and BMI of 22 does not necessarily represent a desirable or aesthetic weight. Objetivo: Comparar el peso percibido como ideal (PPI) contra el PIF y del IMC de 22. Métodos: Se reclutaron 705 mujeres (20-25 años). Empleamos seis fórmulas comunes y 2 publicadas previamente. Resultados: El análisis de regresión grupal determinó que incluir la complexión corporal mejora la concordancia de las fórmulas de Robinson et al, Hammond y Hamwi con el PPI (p>0.05). Individualmente, el análisis de concordancia (porcentaje mayor de diferencias <2 kg: PPI-PIF), determinó que para un IMC <20 kg/m2 solo la fórmula de Faspyn 1 debe ajustarse por la complexión corporal, mientras que las fórmulas de Robinson et al, Hammond, Tokunaga (IMC de 22), Faspyn 2 (IMC de 22) y Broca, son equivalentes con el PPI en diferentes intervalos de IMC. Conclusiones: de acuerdo con el IMC percibido como sobrepeso (23.8 kg/m2) y percibido como ideal (21.1 kg/m2), las fórmulas de peso ideal y el IMC de 22 deben ser usados con precaución en el diagnóstico de peso ideal ya que no necesariamente representan un peso deseable o estético.

Considerado el primer relato autobiográfico de un esclavo afrodescendiente publicado en América, A Narrative of the Uncommon Sufferings, and Surprizing Deliverance of Briton Hammon, a Negro Man (Boston 1760) carece hasta ahora de una traducción al español. Esta obra de naufragio, cautiverio indígena, esclavitud en Cuba y esclavitud en Massachusetts le debe importar al estudioso hispanohablante no solo por su carácter fundacional, sino también porque La Habana es uno de los lugares clave en el que se desarrolla la historia de cautiverio de Briton Hammon. El texto refleja la relación tensa entre el Caribe hispánico y las colonias británicas de América en el siglo XVIII. Las siguientes páginas ofrecen una traducción y un estudio introductorio del mismo.

El neumomediastino espontáneo o síndrome de Hamman hace referencia a la presencia de aire en el compartimiento mediastinal en ausencia de traumatismos o procedimientos médico-quirúrgicos; de presentación poco frecuente. Está relacionado en más de la mitad de los casos a cuadros de crisis asmática como factor desencadenante. Se presenta el caso clínico de un varón de 15 años de edad, admitido en el Servivio de Emergencia por dolor torácico y disnea; y, en el examen destacaba la presencia de enfisema subcutáneo en el cuello y región supraclaviculary más sibilantes espiratorios e inspiratorios en los pulmones. La radiografía y tomografía torácica mostraron neumomediastino. Instaurada la terapia, el paciente evolucionó de manera favorable y fue dado de alta.

Resumo: Atualmente, a quantidade de dados disponíveis na Internet supera a casa dos Zettabytes (ZB), definindo um cenário conhecido na literatura como Big Data. Embora as soluções de banco de dados tradicionais sejam eficientes na busca e recuperação de um conteúdo específico e exato, elas são ineficientes nesse cenário de Big Data, visto que não foram projetadas para isso. Outra dificuldade é que esses dados são essencialmente não-estruturados e encontram-se diluídos em toda a vastidão da Internet. Desta forma, novas soluções de infraestruturas de bancos de dados são necessárias de modo a suportar a busca e recuperação de dados similares de maneira não exata, configurando-se a busca por similaridade, isto é, busca por grupos de dados que compartilham entre si alguma semelhança. Nesse cenário, a proposta desta tese é explorar a similaridade de Hamming existente entre identificadores de objetos gerados através da função Random Hyperplane Hashing. Essa característica presente nesses identificadores servirá de base para propostas de infra-estruturas distribuídas de armazenamento de dados capazes de suportar eficientemente a busca por similaridade. Nesta tese serão apresentadas a Hamming DHT, uma solução P2P baseada em redes sobrepostas, e o HCube, uma solução baseada em servidores para Data Center. As avaliações de ambas as soluções são apresentadas e mostram que elas são capazes de reduzir as distâncias entre conteúdos similares em ambientes distribuídos, o que contribui para o aumento da cobertura em cenários de busca por similaridade
Abstract: Nowadays, the amount of data available on the Internet is over Zettabytes (ZB). Such condition defines a scenario known in the literature as Big Data. Although traditional database solutions are very efficient for finding and retrieving a specific content, they are inefficient on Big Data scenario, since the great majority of such data is unstructured and scattered across the Internet. In this way, new databases are required in order to support queries capable of finding and recovering similar datasets, i.e., retrieving groups of data that share a common meaning. In order to handle such challenging scenario, the proposal in this thesis is to explore the Hamming similarity existent between content identifiers that are generated using the Random Hyperplane Hashing function. Such identifiers provide the basis for building distributed infrastructures that facilitate the similarity search. In this thesis, we present two different approaches: a P2P solution named Hamming DHT, and a Data Center solution named HCube. Evaluations of both solutions are presented and indicate that such solutions are capable of reducing the distance between similar content, improving the recall in a similarity search

The main subject of this thesis is creating a programme, used for channel coding demonstration. This programme will be used for teaching purposes. The programme contains various codes from simple ones, to those which almost reach Shanon’s channel capacity theorem. Specifically these are the Hamming code, cyclic code, convolutional code and LDPC code. These functions are based on theoretical background described in this thesis and have been programed in Matlab. Practical output of this thesis is user interface, where the user is able to input information word, simulate transmission through the transmission channel and observe coding and decoding for each code. This thesis also contains a comparison between individual codes, concerning bit-error rate depending on SNR and various parameters. There is a computer lab with theoretical background, assignment and sheets for convenient accomplishment of each task.

The thesis deals with both scheme and its implementation of water-level metering apparatus. This data are send wireless into 500 m distant station. Potential ways of solution are gradually studied and final design suggested. Detailed implementation methods are described in the following section. Ultrasonic sensors are employed for level measurement and controlling element is processor ATmega162, data are transmitted by transceiver RC1280HP. Apparatus is suggested with a view to the lowest power consumption considering it will be supplied only with a accumulator. Solving of accepting station is not a part of the thesis. Functional tested sample is understated in the execution section.

Biometrics is a method of recognizing the identity of a person based on unique biological characteristics that are unique to each person. The methods of biometric identification is currently becoming increasingly widespread in various sectors. This work is focused on the identification of a person by iris images. The introductory section describes the principles of the well-known methods for biometric applications and the next part describes the design method and its implementation in Matlab. In the practical part, fast radial symmetry method is used for detection of pupil, from which it derives further image processing. Two dimensional discrete welvet transform is used here. The proposed algorithm is tested on databases CASIA-Iris- Interval and database IITD.

In my thesis, I focus on the task of recognizing human iris from an image.In the beginning, the work deals with a question of biometrics, its importance and basic concepts, which are necessary for use in following text. Subsequently process of human Iris detection is described together with theory of evolution algorithms. In the implementation part, is described the design of implemented solution, which uses evolution algorithms, where is emphasis on correct pupil and iris boundary detection.

Nos últimos anos, a segurança tornou-se uma preocupação constante da grande maioria das pessoas. Os sistemas biométricos vem ganhando destaque em soluções ligadas à segurança, uma vez que tratam de características físicas e comportamentais para reconhecimento dos indivíduos e permissões de acesso. Este trabalho objetivou a proposição e implementação de um método para reconhecimento de indivíduos por meio de características contidas na região interna da íris com um alto percentual de exatidão no reconhecimento e uma grande diminuição no tempo de processamento, se comparado aos demais métodos encontrados na literatura. No método proposto foram utilizados operadores de morfologia matemática para localização da íris, wavelet de log-Gabor para extração das características e a distância de Hamming para o reconhecimento. Os resultados experimentais obtidos utilizando a base de dados CASIA mostraram que o método é confiável e seguro, além de se destacar com relação ao baixo custo computacional
In the recent years, the security became a constant concern of most people. Biometric systems have been highlighted in solutions related to security, since they deal with physical and behavioral characteristics for individuals recognition and access permissions. Production before the advent of magnetic tape—in the era of 78-RPM records—emphasized "pre-production." A&R men (short for "artists and repertoire") chose artists to record, and they paired songs from the publishing firms of Tin Pan Alley with artists. The A&R work of Milt Gabler (at Commodore and Decca Records) and John Hammond and George Avakian (at Columbia) is exemplary. Gabler organized a series of jam sessions, which he recorded. Avakian produced Chicago Jazz (1940), the first jazz "album" of original material. As part of their popular music divisions the major labels—Columbia, Decca, and RCA Victor—record and market jazz. A number of specialty labels emerge: Commodore, Prestige, Contemporary, Verve, Blue Note, Atlantic, Riverside, and Savoy. Though dependent on pressing plants owned by the majors, they reflect the production philosophies of the connoisseurs who founded and owned them.

Resumen
Para muitos, ter sucesso em matemática implica em chegar a resposta certa o mais rápido possível, consequentemente, na maioria das salas de aula acredita-se que um aluno aprendeu o conteúdo se ele acertar o resultado de um exercício. Dessa forma muitos alunos não se reconhecem como seres matemáticos. Porém, o fazer matemático vai além das respostas certas, ele envolve busca de padrões, estabelecimento de conexões entre os conteúdos, desenvolvimento de estratégias, experimentação, e análises dos erros. Assim, o objetivo desse trabalho é contribuir com a construção e aplicação de uma práxis pedagógica que fortaleça a identidade matemática nos alunos e promova a equidade. Para tal, reunimos as práticas matemáticas do Common Core (as diretrizes curriculares da educação básica nos Estados Unidos), estudos de neurociência e educação matemática publicados por Zaretta Hammond e Jo Boaler e a metodologia de pesquisa Improvement Science. Este trabalho anuncia um sistema de classificação de níveis de aprendizagem em matemática, explanando as oito atitudes matemáticas que estão presentes no que consideramos o fazer matemático, assim, propondo um framework. Baseado na Taxonomia de Bloom, o sistema de classificação de níveis é constituído por quatro grandes etapas iniciando em busca por padrões, passando pelo desenvolvimento do senso numérico, a expansão do pensamento algébrico e finalizando na generalização. O framework traz possibilidades para que docentes possam trabalhar a aprendizagem matemática para além de respostas certas e erradas, ou seja, focando no processo. Além do framework, trazemos sugestões de atividades e possibilidades de adaptação de tarefas para desenvolver as atitudes matemáticas com intencionalidade. Notamos que ao vivenciar atividades que desenvolvem as atitudes matemáticas, consciente dos níveis de aprendizagem, respeitando ritmo, vivências, dificuldades e reconhecendo a capacidade de cada indivíduo, os alunos se reconhecem como seres matemáticos, fortalecerão a identidade matemática e terão uma relação positiva com essa ciência.

Resumen
No presente trabalho, é apresentada uma versão modificada do algoritmo de Busca por Cardume (FSS – Fish School Search) aplicado ao problema de Quantização Vetorial Robusta (QVR), sendo consideradas distâncias Hamming igual a 1 e 2 no índice de desordem, o qual é figura de mérito para o problema de otimização considerado. Os resultados de simulação mostram que o algoritmo FSS apresentou melhor desempenho quando comparado ao Simulated Annealing (SA) para várias condições de transmissão de imagens por Canal Binário Simétrico.

This paper presented here deals with study of identification and verification approach of Diabetes based on human iris pattern. In the pre-processing of this work, region of interest according to color (ROI) concept is used for iris localization, Dougman's rubber sheet model is used for normalization and Circular Hough Transform can be used for pupil and boundary detection. To extract features, Gabor Filter, Histogram of Oriented Gradients, five level decomposition of wavelet transforms likeHaar, db2, db4, bior 2.2, bior6.8 waveletscan be used. Binary coding scheme binaries’ the feature vector coefficients and classifier like hamming distance, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost), Neural Networks (NN), Random Forest (RF) and Linear Discriminative Analysis (LDA) with shrinkage parametercan be used for template matching. Performance parameters such as Computational time, Hamming distance variation, False Acceptance Rate (FAR), False Rejection Rate (FRR), Accuracy, and Match ratio can be calculated for the comparison purpose.

Esta presentación analiza la implicación de la experiencia urbana en la obra del artista afroamericano David Hammons, como artista referente en el contexto del arte afroamericano y como figura influyente en el arte contemporáneo internacional, mediante el análisis de algunas de sus intervenciones mas destacadas en el espacio urbano a partir los años ochenta: Human Pegs Pole Dreams, Bottle Trees, Higher Goals, Path Free y C#. La interacción de sus intervenciones urbanas con las tradiciones rituales procedentes de África en el contexto urbano de Harlem. Las correlaciones con el conjunto de actuaciones que definen lo urbano y su conexión con los referentes de la cultura urbana afroamericana: narrativas ocultas, problemática social, así como la indagación en elementos culturales propios del contexto afroamericano in barrio de Harlem. Relación de sus propuestas artísticas con la música de Jelly Roll Morton y con la idea de criollización cultural propuesta por Edouard Glissant.

Redes neurais convolucionais (CNNs) têm sido amplamente empregadas em problemas de visão computacional, especialmente em aplicações que envolvem imagens convencionais, baseadas em captura pinhole. No entanto, há uma crescente demanda por soluções capazes de lidar com imagens esféricas e a adaptação bem-sucedida de métodos utilizados em imagens planas para imagens omnidirecionais não é uma tarefa direta. Neste trabalho, nosso objetivo é realizar uma análise comparativa entre duas arquiteturas de redes neurais para a classificação multirrótulo aplicada a imagens esféricas. A primeira rede utiliza convoluções convencionais, enquanto a segunda incorpora convoluções esféricas. Ambas foram treinadas em um subconjunto da base de dados Structured3D. Foram feitos dois experimentos com o conjunto de dados: no primeiro experimento consideramos imagens ERP não-rotacionadas e no segundo experimento foram utilizadas imagens ERP rotacionadas, simulando capturas inclinadas. Constatamos que para ambos experimentos a CNN esférica obteve um desempenho mais satisfatório em relação as três métricas analisadas: Hamming Loss (HL), Exact Match Ratio (EMR) e F1-score.

La pandemia generada por el COVID-19 ha cambiado las actividades académicas en todo el mundo, la mayoría de los estudiantes y docentes enfrentan un reto importante de comunicación, administración y gestión, así como de generación y aplicación del conocimiento para lograr el cumplimiento de objetivos, estrategias didácticas, prácticas de taller y laboratorio, visitas guiadas e instrumentos de evaluación entre otros. Para los diseñadores industriales que cursan los dos últimos semestres de la licenciatura en Diseño Industrial no es la excepción, ya que deben formalizar con un protocolo de investigación lo que será su proyecto terminal de grado. Por consiguiente, deben proponer proyectos innovadores que impacten favorablemente en un entorno determinado. El presente trabajo tiene como propósito analizar las diferentes técnicas para identificar, comprender y plantear proyectos de diseño industrial de mayor impacto en múltiples áreas, específicamente en la médica, rehabilitación, saneamiento, psicología y entretenimiento. Se utilizó la teoría de la información denominada “distancia de Hamming” para verificar si el valor estimado real es congruente con el valor estimado ideal, valores numéricos obtenidos de la conceptualización e identificación de factores relevantes para proponer proyectos terminales de diseño en contextos diferenciados. Como resultado se obtuvieron nuevos parámetros para educar más asertivamente hacia un pensamiento innovador de los diseñadores industriales, aplicando requerimientos de diseño, con base en las características de interacción, uso, función y adaptabilidad restringidas por el COVID-19, los cuales serán imprescindibles en los trabajos terminales de grado con alto impacto comunitario.

Existem barreiras burocráticas e de ideais que tornam a comparação de departamentos e identificação de padrões, em geral, tarefas difíceis. A exploração dos dados coletados, juntamente com um modelo descritivo induzido a partir desses dados, podem ajudar a identificar modelos destoantes e promover a comparação das instituições. O estudo propõe a criação de modelos de redes Bayesianas capazes de representar e extrair conhecimentos novos e significativos a partir dos dados nas variáveis utilizadas no estudo de caso. São selecionadas variáveis sobre secções obstétricas de hospitais de Portugal para a criação do modelo de cada entidade/secção. As funções do pacote R "bnlearn" foram usadas para manipular e recriar dados no modelo. O desempenho deste modelo foi validado quanto à capacidade de recriar dados. Para construir uma matriz de distâncias entre modelos para identificação de entidades destoantes, a distância de Hamming. As anomalias detectadas pela comparação dos modelos criados foram validadas por especialista de acordo com a escala Likert. Os dados foram descritos e recriados através de redes Bayesianas com imputação de dados, com referência significativa aos dados reais. A comparação dos modelos sobre as secções de obstetrícia identificou padrões e anomalias. A comparação permitiu diferenciar os setores com diferentes taxas de cesárea e distribuição nos grupos de Robson, de acordo com as variáveis selecionadas, preservando o acesso aos dados reais das instituições.

In fuzzy pairing, two parties compare two bit strings which are supposed to be similar, but almost never identical. So A and B engage in a protocol to verify whether d(sA, sB) is less than some threshold T; if not, the parties abort and authentication failed. Here d() is to be taken as the Hamming distance. One standard protocol is the code-offset method: A computes a random vector x such that sA − x is a code word of some pre-agreed error-correcting x. Together they verify whether the code and sends x to B, who decodes sB − two decoded codewords are the same. A common secret key can be obtained subsequently, We cast this problem in a different context, in which A and B want to compare continuous signals, instead of discrete bit strings. We test the code offset method for four classes of error-correcting codes: Reed-Solomon (RS) Codes, Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) Codes, Repeat-Accumulate Codes (RAC) and Low Density Lattice Codes (LDLC). For similar error correction capability our results show that RS codes perform slowly, while LDPC and RAC which very similar are both really fast. LDLC has the best correction capabilities, but are slower because of their mathematical complexity. Our results can be generalized to fuzzy extractors.

The National Park Service (NPS) Water Resources Division’s Natural Resource Condition Assessment (NRCA) Program initiated an NRCA project with Fort Pulaski National Monument (FOPU) in 2022. The purpose of an NRCA is to synthesize information related to the primary drivers and stressors affecting natural resource conditions at a park and to report conditions for natural resource topics selected by park managers. Resource conditions are evaluated as either a condition assessment or a gap analysis, depending on data availability. For FOPU’s NRCA, managers selected salt marsh, shorebirds, Eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica), and butterflies as the focal resources. FOPU is comprised of two islands in coastal Georgia, McQueens and Cockspur, which are separated by the Savannah River near its confluence with the Atlantic Ocean. Cockspur Island contains the 19th century masonry fort, Fort Pulaski, and the monument’s visitor services and facilities and is primarily constructed with dredge material from the Savannah River. McQueens Island is almost entirely salt marsh habitat and most of its area is eligible federal wilderness, containing one of Georgia’s oyster recreational harvest areas (RHAs), Oyster Creek RHA. Both McQueens and Cockspur islands are designated as a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Marine Protected Area (MPA), underscoring FOPU’s natural resource significance. Riverine, freshwater, and estuarine wetlands cover 83.81% of FOPU, with the latter accounting for almost 99% of all monument wetlands. Persistently emergent vegetation of smooth cordgrasses (Spartina spp.) and unconsolidated shore represent the dominant wetland types. McQueens Island estuarine wetlands were evaluated for 11 functions and were rated primarily as high functioning, except for the wetland north of Highway 80, where the causeway has altered its ability to function properly. The wetland west of the Highway 80 bend is composed of unconsolidated material so was rated as moderately functioning in carbon sequestration, retention of sediments, and shore stabilization. In contrast, the unconsolidated shore wetland in the Oyster Creek RHA, where the highest concentration of FOPU’s oysters occurs, were rated high for all expected wetland functions. In 2013, over 75% of the total oyster area from within four of Georgia’s RHAs was in the Oyster Creek RHA. A spectral analysis of oyster density in Oyster Creek RHA, comparing 2013 and 2018 images, reported an increase in the high-density class, a decrease in the moderate-low class, and an increase in the no oyster class, with the latter likely a function of how oyster areas were drawn between the images. A successful 2013 enhanced reef project in Oyster Creek RHA reported a pre-enhancement oyster area of 2.68 m2 (28.8 ft2) that increased to 894.2 m2 (0.22 ac) of oysters by 2018. FOPU’s extensive salt marsh habitat and beaches provide critical food sources and habitat for shorebirds in the Atlantic Flyway, especially during the pre-breeding season. The American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliates), Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus), and the federally threatened rufa subspecies of Red Knot (Calidris canutus rufa) are identified as high priority species in the flyway and have been observed on Cockspur Island during the Manomet International Shorebird Surveys (2019–2022) at FOPU. The USFWS (2023) is seeking additional critical habitat designation, which will include Cockspur Island, for the rufa subspecies of Red Knot, whose estimated population abundance trend is declining throughout its entire range. FOPU’s non-wetland, upland habitat is primarily located on Cockspur Island and supports vegetation that can serve as host, roost and/or nectar plants for pollinators, especially butterflies. Cedar–Live Oak–Cabbage Palmetto (Juniperus virginiana var. silicicola–Q. virginiana–Sabal palmetto) Marsh Hammock and Cabbage Palmetto Woodland contain the most diversity of beneficial butterfly plants. While a comprehensive butterfly inventory is needed, fall migration surveys have recorded three target species of the Butterflies of the Atlantic Flyway (BAFA): monarch (Danaus plexippus), gulf fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), and cloudless sulphur (Phoebis sennae). Collectively, FOPU’s natural resources are affected by the sea level, which has risen by 0.35 m (1.15 ft) from 1935 to 2022. Hardened shorelines, such as causeways or armored structures, are identified as the greatest threat to the salt marsh habitat’s ability to migrate upland with continued sea level rise. Erosion along Cockspur Island’s north shore is an ongoing issue and FOPU managers have been working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to develop solutions to address the erosion, while also creating habitat for shorebirds. Several agencies routinely monitor for water and sediment pollution in and around FOPU, which, if managed collectively, can inform landscape-level management actions to address drivers that are influencing resource conditions at the ecosystem level.
