In this article we discuss our practice-based research into effective architectures and creative workflows for creatively coding massive multidevice light and sound installation artworks. We discuss the challenges of working with networked multidevice systems and illustrate these challenges with examples of the type of content that one may wish to display on these systems. We then consider how the structuring of a creative framework can strongly influence how an artist approaches the creation of such work, eases the process of creative search and discovery and reduces the time cost and risk of solving technical problems of architecture design. We take a design perspective on how to make effective creativity support tools and also consider a holistic perspective on creative practice that attempts to satisfy creative ideals grounded in the reality of practice.

In September 2016, we organized a roundtable entitled “Community engaged cultural research: an emerging agenda of practice” at the 9th Midterm Conference of the ESA Research Network Sociology of the Arts in Porto, Portugal. The authors sharing their research during that session challenged us to go further and publish our experiences with society-friendly research in a variety of cultural contexts, practices, backgrounds and beliefs. By choosing the theme of “community and creative research”, this thematic issue of Conjunctions has gathered experiences from around the world (Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Switzerland, Argentina and Cyprus) on different approaches to democratic practice using the lens of cultural participation. It feeds on the intersection of action research work performed by academics, activists, artist, theorists and citizens, who study and work within different sectors of our societies through participatory methodologies.

A community-based project, the Participatory Creative Music Hub (the Hub) was developed by the Canadian New Music Network (CNMN) to research, create, and distribute an online resource to inspire creativity in music and sound for all. In addition to inspiring people of many backgrounds to create their own music, the process of building and sharing the Hub has helped to develop a sense of community among diverse creative practitioners across Canada. In doing so, it has raised questions about both the aesthetic and social values of music. In recent years, on an organizational level, CNMN’s focus and scope has transitioned from a primarily industry-focused network dedicated to building professional networks and opportunities to an outward-looking, knowledge- and resource-sharing network actively cultivating a more inclusive member base and connecting with other sectors. The Hub is one of the CNMN’s recent initiatives that is working to redefine the place of music in Canadian society and shift ideas around who can and does make New Music across Canada, and where, how and why people make music. In this article, we propose that the Hub also performs socially engaged practice-based research that models an expanded imaginary for creative music and sound in contemporary Canadian society.

Grime music is an Afrodiasporic performance form originating in London. While artists such as Stormzy and Skepta are now international stars, its gestation took place within a grounded network of record shops, radio stations and raves. This article argues for grime pirate radio’s role as both an oppositional channel and site of creative practice. Based on empirical work undertaken from 2017 to 2019 in London’s grime scene, it demonstrates how artists harness radio’s communicative power to engender a Black counterpublic, before outlining a framework for creative agency: afforded by a network of stations and practitioners; made meaningful through its community of listeners; and realized through improvisatory practice. Existing studies focusing on pirate radio often present these fora as domains for dissemination. In grime, however, its creative function highlights the potentiality of radio as a performance medium: a space for quotidian belonging and co-presence, but also for musical development and grassroots practice.

The article explores the role of art festivals as platforms for knowledge and network development in the creative industries and creative policy intervention using the case of a small street art festival ( Fuse Festival in Medway, UK). The analysis provides a broader perspective on the current research and debate on the impact and role played by arts festivals in local economic and cultural development—which usually concentrate on either their socioeconomic impact on local communities—to focus instead of their role in building knowledge communities and communities of practice. The results highlight the key role played by the festival in supporting and commissioning artistic work. The results also expose the temporary and explorative nature of many artistic practices and the role of interaction with audiences and other creative producers. Following a network perspective, the findings highlight the role of temporary clusters not only in shaping career opportunities for artists but also in drawing new pathways for local economic development for contexts undergoing regeneration.

We have recently undertaken a corporate strategy evaluation for a more accurate appraisal of the Ayurveda Practice Based Research Network's two-year outcomes. While many of our views and experiences may not be original to PBRN networks, we feel that for Integrative Ayurveda, our insights will be valuable to others who are constructing or reshaping Ayurveda practice in a shifting health care context. Research that is contemporary, applicable, and amenable to integration into practice must be prioritized. Clinicians, academics, information technologists, and various scientists, as well as strategy implementation professionals, combining to establish a creative Hub, is a viable approach for reaching this objective in comparison to the original PBRN models. The creative Hub could assist academics in identifying significant research topics and meeting "critical" standards. Bridging the ends between practitioners, researchers, and clinicians may require novel partnerships and non-traditional funding sources in the future.

This article explores hybrid curatorial practices that have developed around digital “socio-techno-cultural” practices such as machinima. Machinima is a creative cultural movement that has evolved considerably since its emergence in 1996. The article highlights interrelated themes of curatorial practice: coevolving sense-making and social consumption; creative cognition and exploratory visualization; technologies as cultural intermediaries; social products, materialized expression and collective memory; capturing contexts through cocuration; and sustainability and stability of cultural capital. The article concludes that curation is a process of continually evolving interpretation of the artifact, representing shifts in the technology landscape, network of community members and audience interactions.

To explore and examine the role of social media as a tool for professional learning within teacher preparation, this qualitative case study examined 73 preservice teachers' observations of literacy teaching on Twitter. Findings indicate that visual posts enhanced teaching strategies and lesson ideas, posts influenced beliefs about teaching and connections to practice, and observations increased enthusiasm toward becoming a teacher. Attention was given to students learning in-action. Reflections emphasize what to teach using a specific strategy or idea. Findings imply that expanding professional learning networks to digital spaces can cultivate teacher knowledge, foster creative teaching practices, and enhance self-critique.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a theory of governing in integrated care networks. Asking how and why the governance of these networks emerges and evolves over time, it responds to calls for more innovative thinking in this field. Design/methodology/approach Data result from a rare longitudinal qualitative case study conducted with the Healthcare Centre Lower Engadin, the lead organisation of pioneering health and social care network in a rural Swiss region. Findings Actors governed the network through repetitive sequences of collaborative inquiry, a practice through which they defined and addressed recurrent problems of network governance and joint network action in creative and experimental ways. Research limitations/implications Explaining how and why the governance of integrated care networks emerges and evolves, this study adds a dynamic theory to previous research, which has studied the determinants of effective network governance without considering their temporal evolution. It also contributes to the wider network literature, drawing attention to the pivotal role of meaning making, creativity and experimentation for understanding network governance dynamics. Practical implications The study invites practitioners to reflect on how they want to design collaborative inquiry in their own contexts. Important design levers include the creation of communication forums, trust and information transparency. Originality/value The study adds a rare longitudinal perspective on the governance of integrated care networks.

Historically, network music has explored the practice and theory of interconnectivity, utilising the network itself as a creative instrument. The Machine Orchestra (TMO) has extended this historical idea by developing the custom software suite Signal, and creating a shared, social instrument consisting of musical robotics. Signal is a framework for musical synchronisation and data sharing, designed to support the use of musical robotics in an attempt to more fully address ideas of interconnectivity and embodied performance. Signal, in combination with musical robotics, also facilitates the exploration of interaction contexts, such as at the note level, score level and sound-processing level. In this way, TMO is simultaneously building upon the historical contributions and developing aesthetics of network music.

Aerobic exercise is a very popular form of exercise. It combines various forms of sports and music. Aerobic exercise improves muscle tone and relaxes the mind and body while burning calories. It is designed to individualize instruction for different audiences. It is an important factor in the applicability of the operation. The purpose of this paper is to build different human models based on sensor network numbers to quantify different movements through the Internet of Things (IoT) to design personalized curriculum design and practice to improve the popularity of creative aerobics curriculum. In this paper, we first give an overview of the algorithm and data fusion algorithm and then simulate the aerobics creative curriculum design. First, the variance is used as the error measure to establish the data fusion algorithm and aerobics new concept innovation curriculum design and practice. The established model is compared with the aerobics curriculum design under the traditional model to highlight the advantages of the curriculum design under the data fusion algorithm. A comparison is also made with examples. The experimental results show that the data of the audience’s movement changes during different creative processes solve the aerobics creative editing problem. Compared with the traditional curriculum design, the efficiency of the curriculum design and practice is improved by 20.23%.

This article presents a conceptual framework for substance abuse research and practice collaboration based on John-Steiner's (2000) seminal work on characterizing creative collaborative processes in fields such as science, art, music, and literature. Using John-Steiner's core concept of “co-construction of knowledge,” the authors provide examples of informal and formal collaborative methods for “bridging the gap” between substance abuse research and practice. An ongoing collaborative effort in Los Angeles County, California, called “L.A. County Partnerships Network,” is described and important strategies for developing collaborative relationships between substance abuse researchers and practitioners are highlighted. Informal patterns of collaboration, such as those used by the L.A. Partnerships Network, can lead to significant developments among substance abuse researchers and practitioners.

The high importance of mass creative culture and the active digitalization of all spheres of life, combined with social restrictions during the pandemic, are caused changes in society's perception of cultural and social values. These affect the most psychologically flexible social group, the youth, who are equally open to any innovation and dependent on the socio-psychological and cultural environment. The article raises the problem of formation of an artist-person in the period of digitalization from the point of view of the development of creative potential. Based on a systematic approach and the results of participant observation of the behavior and development of creative users of social networks, the socio-psychological features of the activities of Internet authorities as intermediaries between a person and the cultural environment, as well as the influence of trends in modern online platforms on the creative potential of an individual, were analyzed. A multi-level model of the creative development of a person in the network was presented, taking into account the risks and negative impact from the Internet society. The model includes the stages: passive observation, repetition of the mass pattern, creative activity, separation the art from creativity, and the art level itself. The most dangerous are the passive-affective and detached-creative levels, at which the influence of society on the developing creative personality is strongest and most unpredictable. The results are interesting for specialists in the field of cultural studies, sociology, social psychology, and pedagogical theory and practice in the context of the digital transformation of education.

Informed by a bridging activities model (Thorne & Reinhardt, 2008), the authors designed and implemented a series of activities using Facebook to develop elementary level Korean learners’ socio-pragmatic awareness of the use of Korean honorifics. Nine students took part in the activities, which involved student collaboration to create five invented profiles and shared resources, guided analysis of expert/native use, role play activities to practice new socio-grammatical understandings, and analysis of peer production. Based on analysis of student work and post-instructional surveys, the authors found evidence for the development of socio-pragmatic awareness, as demonstrated by the practice of pragmatic flouting, the understanding of contextual constraints on use, and the creative use of Facebook affordances.

Literary relations between Poland and Spain are not only the subject of some purely theoretical considerations of this essay, but also a space for creative practice within the literary field, in the sense proposed by Pierre Bourdieu, as a complex network of positions, relations, and rivalries between its participants, individuals, and institutions. The main subject of the article is the process of creating a Polish-Spanish dramatic collage called 'Daughters of the Air. Balladyna’s Dream' (2019) based on Calderon’s and Słowacki’s dramas, grounded in the historical context, from the Polish-Spanish dramaturgical assumptions to the bilingual libretto of the play, which premiered first in Opole and then in Almagro. Such a process of creative rewriting of our classic literature can be compared to the forgotten comedias colaboradas, which were extremely popular in Spain during the Golden Age: those multi-author dramatic adaptations often resulted from a fruitful collaboration between two, three, or even more writers and dramaturges, which nowadays seems somehow more challenging.

Based on the Chinese intangible cultural heritage " Tantou New Year Prints " as the research subject, within the perspective of the "creative economy" in the cultural and creative industries, the basic paths of cultural exploration, focusing on pain points, form translation, and urban regeneration are employed to explore its contemporary value. In the research process, a model is constructed to theoretically innovate and regenerate the "art" of the " Tantou New Year Prints " era. In practice, it hones the "skills" of the era, achieving a mutually reinforcing and winning convergence. Through this exploration, a feasible pathway is established within the perspective of the "creative economy" for the intervention of traditional handicrafts in a corner of the contemporary creative industry network. This provides an effective path and practical validation for the innovation and inheritance of excellent traditional culture in the new era.

This article discusses how the issue of precarity has developed into a new catalyst for activism in Italy and demonstrates how this activism is linked to changes in the employment and capitalist manufacturing environment of the 1980s and 1990s. It links events in Italy to the activism of the global anti-neoliberal movement and discusses how various activist movements (the independent Marxist tradition, creative activism, social activism, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT), radical feminist activism) are mobilizing around the issue of precarity. This article focuses specifically on the activist network ‘Precari su Marte’ (Precarious on Mars) which has been active in Turin since 2005. It demonstrates how the theoretical and practical evolution of this network has led to various outcomes, including experimenting with creative forms of political practice at MayDay demonstrations and questioning the boundaries of gender.

This article explores the implementation of Connected Art Practice in diverse learning environments, serving as an immersive entry point for students and researchers to develop collaborative transdisciplinary skills. This innovative approach integrates audio, educational, and sustainability research, employing sound-interaction methods applied to tangible objects. Participants engage in exploring the interplay between objects representing interests or values, fostering the creation of a visual and linguistic network of interconnectedness. Inspired by artistic research, particularly Dérive, the practice provides experiences of connectedness to others and the environment, intertwined with reflections and discussions that foster a community of inquiry. This community collaboratively designs shared practices or projects, encouraging a holistic approach to transformative learning, addressing heterogeneity, complexity, authenticity, critical awareness, and emotional connectedness. All three case studies utilized qualitative analysis in artistic and academic settings. Datasets were collected in case study two from group discussion, participant observation, press releases and documentary photographs. In case studies one and three, audio–visual recordings, participant observation, field notes, and photo-documentation were collected. This study demonstrates that “Connected Art Practice” enhances competences in artistic expression, communication, and collaboration across disciplinary, social, and cultural boundaries. Specifically, it contributes to creative reinvention, personal sharing, self-reflection, and the capacity to co-design diverse projects. The paper concludes by discussing findings and pointing out the essential qualities of Connected Art, providing insights and resources for educational and research institutions seeking to foster transdisciplinary engagement and transformative learning in their curricular activities.

Resumen
This Editorial charts the journey from an initial conversation amongst visual culture colleagues at the University of the West of England to this Special Issue on ‘Ways of Writing in Art and Design’. It describes our intention to imagine forms of writing in/through/ alongside/with creative practice, as opposed to writing ‘about’ it, in the context of visual culture pedagogy. This is the desire to treat the artwork or other type of creative practice as a fellow subject, not an object to be written about. The Editorial explains the process through which we came together as a research network, describes a series of workshops that enabled our thinking, and situates the project within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, it introduces each of the contributions in this collaborative constellation of articles, polemic, reflection, visual essay and illustration.

The article considers neuroaesthetics as an important direction in modern science, neural networks that are actively included in art and culture. The network as a metaphor for our society is becoming the basis for the humanists’ reflections on the features of modern digital culture, the tools of neuroaesthetics help scientists, physiologists, art critics, and culturologists to better understand the characteristics of a person. A few provisions of torii art have also been proven from the standpoint of the work of our brain in the framework of neuroscience. The possibilities of neuroaesthetics and neuroprogramming have become part of the life of a modern person, manifesting themselves both in the use of graph theory and in the modeling of various objects associated with cinema and art practice. An important point is the criticism of neuroaesthetics for trying to present its conclusions as universal, but as human history shows, it is impossible. A separate issue is the criticism of neural networks by a few creative people, for whom digital projects based on neuroaesthetics and neural networks are identified by competitors. On the other hand, for a few creative people, neural networks have become a valuable tool for creativity, the creation of interdisciplinary projects of humanistic significance. As history shows, modern technologies help us solve principal issues, but cannot completely replace a person. The development of neuroaesthetic science expands our knowledge about the visual perception of works of art and other qualities of a person and the culture he creates. Latest information about sensations will lead us to an understanding of perceptual aesthetic experiences.

Abstract This paper, by the founder of the UK based Secular Liturgies Network and Forum, explores the concept and purpose of secular liturgy, and the potential for liturgical events in modern secular societies. It examines the practice of writing secular liturgy, discusses potential contributions from atheists, agnostics, humanists and religious progressives, and considers the new pastoral roles that may evolve alongside a secular liturgies movement. The author argues that secular liturgies and liturgical events have the potential to enrich secular culture, nurture community, facilitate healthy social interaction, advance ethical thought, promote creative writing and other arts, and galvanise people in their efforts towards sustainability and the creation of cultures and environments of health.

Practice as Research (PaR), and Practice-led Research, as studied by Hazel Smith, Roger T. Dean, and Graeme Sullivan, are increasingly being implemented in a wide range of disciplines. In this article, I will report on the methodological trajectory of my creative practice, an autoethnographic work that used film forms as research. The process progressed on three levels of investigation: the narrative, the epistemological, and the ontological. It developed from my personal experience and research in the archive, as a network of references supporting and responding to the needs of producing films through the exploration of prior film methodologies, and elaborating novel forms of mediation of history, memory, and postmemory.

The transformation of media and journalism in the digital world needs to be understood not only scientifi cally, but also in practical terms. What roles are there for young journalists in new media? Will there be a place there for all representatives of traditional journalism? These questions from journalism students and current professionals served as the impetus for considering the practice of one of the leading regional media - the Internet portal 74.ru. His publications over the past ten years were studied, in the preparation of which the tools of online journalism identifi ed by media researchers were used. The author believes that the experience of the Internet portal 74.ru, which serves as a kind of reference point for colleagues, can eventually be used by other regional media.An analysis of his publications showed the real involvement of regional journalists in the processes of digital transformation of the media. They successfully master many tools of online journalism, which allows them to achieve impressive creative results. Materials that have the characteristics of online journalism are the most informative and attractive among other portal publications. Involving user content to prepare problematic materials, the visual language of online publications, extracting relevant meanings from an endless variety of disparate information on the Internet helps them solve serious problems of Russian society: establish modern journalism as a public good, connect the public to the discussion of important public issues, and formulate a consistent picture of the world. All this allows the author of the article to express confi dence in the demand for the eff ective practice of the 74.ru Internet portal, and to give a positive answer to questions about the prospects of the new generation of journalists.

The industrial design is one of the ways to express one’s own ideas, to embody images; however, for this, one should possess a complex of knowledge and skills in the field of theory and history of design. This has determined the relevance of the presented scientific work. The purpose of the academic paper lies in establishing the effectiveness of the introduction of training courses dedicated to the evolution of the artistic image in the interior design; describing the experience of studying the evolution of artistic images in design, which helps to create design projects according to a certain style and genre; determining the attitude of students to educational and content innovations. The learning algorithm was presented in the form of 3 stages, namely: theoretical; creating a design from the textual description of Dynamic Memory Generative Adversarial Network (DM-GAN); defining genre and style compatible with genre using WikiArt; creating stylization in the interior design. The hypothesis of the research lies in the fact that the end-to-end solution for the practice of creating artistic images in the appropriate genre and style of design is the introduction of creative projects according to a well-defined algorithm. The result of the research is the successful introduction of a step-by-step method of a creative project based on using an artistic component in the interior design. In the perspective, research projects will be introduced, which on a deep theoretical basis will make it possible to correctly generate the desired artistic image in design practice, according to a specific genre, artistic stylization.

The purpose of this study is to theoretically substantiate the need for the development in Kazakhstan of such network forms of innovative entrepreneurship organization as research firms. In the study, general and particular methods of economic research were used: the method of comparison and generalization, the method of expert assessments based on the analysis and synthesis of world experience in the development of innovative entrepreneurship, in particular through the development of network interaction of key participants in the scientific and innovative process. A research firm is a form of innovative entrepreneurship organization, primarily focused on the initiation, development and maintenance of new knowledge production processes, through the implementation of the main stages of research and development of prototypes, followed by a stage of practical application and introduction of new knowledge in the form of innovation. The research firm interprets and qualifies the disciplinary diversity of the experience of its employees and their competencies as a potential opportunity and asset for creative activity in the production and application of knowledge. The research firm is interested in creating networks with universities and other research institutes, driven by the desire to gain access to fundamental university research and their further transformation into an entrepreneurial asset. Thus, in accordance with world practice, one of the main directions of development of research firms in the modern economy is effective cooperation with academic research institutes and universities, which is not practiced at all in Kazakhstan. Therefore, it is within the framework of the functioning of research firms that the conflicting commercial and scientific interests of the main participants in scientific and innovative activities, including universities and research institutes, can be maximally harmonized.

This article examines the development of the creative industry in Singapore in the context of globalisation. In studying the application of a government-based development model that prioritises economic goals in fostering a culture-based creative industry, the article explores the effects on the complex social network when the state is involved in introducing Western globalisation into the local society of Singapore. It discusses the major government initiatives to develop the creative industry and the views of local new media artists towards this policy. The article concludes with the resilience of local culture, arguing that the public response and the ‘bottom-up’ artist movement are beginning to embrace new media art forms as part of the national culture in Singapore. New media technology has been a site of cultural practice that allows media artists to participate in the state's development of a homegrown new media industry.

Many factors that SMEs must consider in driving their business to achieve success. This study attempts to identify and analyze the factors that can encourage the business performance of SMEs by considering sales force strategy and network capability. This study also examines the mediating role of network capability in the influence of sales force strategy on business performance. This study used a quantitative approach, with 140 creative SMEs in Bandung, West Java, as the respondents. The data was collected using a survey and further analyzed using regression and path analysis with SPSS 25 software. The findings indicated that sales force strategy and network capability positively influenced business performance and that sales force strategy influences network capability. Furthermore, this study confirmed that network capability mediated the relationship between sales force strategy and business performance. This study provided implications for both practice and theory.

Social networks provide a gaming environment for the academic process. Pedagogical theory and practice lack tools for assessing the impact of social networks on the formation of professional competencies in university students. They create content for online programs in professional television editorial offices under realistic conditions. This experience motivates them and develops their professional skills. Social networks increase motivation for learning, reveal creative abilities, and organize the academic process.

Using the music of the Final Fantasy game series as our case study, we follow the music through processes of transmediation in two very different contexts: the Netflix series Dad of Light and music transcription forum Ichigo’s Sheet Music. We argue that these examples reveal transmediation acting as a process of ‘emptying’, allowing the music to carry its nostalgic cargo of affect into new relationships and contexts. This study’s theoretical combination of transmediation with Bainbridge’s object networks of social practice frame challenges normative definitions of nostalgia. The phenomenon of ‘emptying’ we identify reveals a function of popular culture nostalgia that differs from the dominant understanding as a triggering of generalized emotional longing for (or the desire to return to) the past. Instead, this article uncovers a nostalgia that is defined by personal and communal creative engagement and highlights the active and social nature of transmediated popular culture nostalgia.

Introduction. The current development of mobile applications, including the introduction of chatbots using artificial intelligence, further expands the possibilities of the teaching process, its personalization, and the development of an individual educational trajectory. Using the chatbots ChatGPT and Midjourney will make it possible to practice English language skills at one’s own speed, simulating communication with a native speaker, as well as practice the formulation of clear commands for an algorithmized executor. The aim of this paper is to describe the specifics of using chatbots in the process of studying English by undergraduate students. Materials and methods. The experimental study involved 186 students of the Faculty of Linguistics of A.S. Griboyedov Moscow University (Russian Federation). The experimental group attended elective classes, during which the students debated in English with the ChatGPT neural network and generated images using queries in English in the Midjourney network. Methods of mathematical statistics: Pearson's chi-squared test. Results. The practice of using neural networks in teaching a foreign language has demonstrated that a neural network can act as a simulator of a native speaker, as well as a kind of “command executor” obeying simple instructions. The results confirming these statements and the effectiveness of the experimental work are embodied in the positive dynamics of generating creative statements and texts in a foreign language (χ2 = 9.174; p < 0.05). Conclusion. The data obtained in this experiment make it possible to recommend the use of chatbots with artificial intelligence tools and expand the range of exercises with their application. Using chatbots in this capacity is little elaborated in Russian educational practice, and the scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in suggesting a specific methodology of the option for introducing interaction with automatically learning chatbots in the educational process.

Applying machine learning (ML), and especially deep learning, to understand visual content is becoming common practice in many application areas. However, little attention has been given to its use within the multimedia creative domain. It is true that ML is already popular for content creation, but the progress achieved so far addresses essentially textual content or the identification and selection of specific types of content. A wealth of possibilities are yet to be explored by bringing the use of ML into the multimedia creative process, allowing the knowledge inferred by the former to influence automatically how new multimedia content is created. The work presented in this article provides contributions in three distinct ways towards this goal: firstly, it proposes a methodology to re-train popular neural network models in identifying new thematic concepts in static visual content and attaching meaningful annotations to the detected regions of interest; secondly, it presents varied visual digital effects and corresponding tools that can be automatically called upon to apply such effects in a previously analyzed photo; thirdly, it defines a complete automated creative workflow, from the acquisition of a photograph and corresponding contextual data, through the ML region-based annotation, to the automatic application of digital effects and generation of a semantically aware multimedia story driven by the previously derived situational and visual contextual data. Additionally, it presents a variant of this automated workflow by offering to the user the possibility of manipulating the automatic annotations in an assisted manner. The final aim is to transform a static digital photo into a short video clip, taking into account the information acquired. The final result strongly contrasts with current standard approaches of creating random movements, by implementing an intelligent content- and context-aware video.

AbstractWe argue that there is scholarly potential in linking theory on industry clusters with theory on value networks. To date, these two theoretical streams have developed largely in parallel, limiting understanding of how the two are integrated in practice. By considering these theories in combination and the unique context of creative industries, we generate insight on the management of clusters as value networks. Our ongoing longitudinal empirical case is a new media cluster called ‘Mediapolis’ in the city of Tampere, Finland. The case study commenced at the time the cluster was in the planning and early operational stage. Results demonstrate the usefulness of linking the two theories, and support a future research agenda examining the types of cluster configurations meeting the criteria of value networks, and the conditions under which value network cluster configurations are more sustainable than simply a spatial agglomeration of clusters.

Such creative workers who rely on mental, spiritual, and emotional labor as the core in cyberspace have realized the labor upgrading from "digital odd jobs" to "digital spiritual jobs". Then it is worth pondering over how platform capital will achieve ideological control of digital flexible labor through hidden labor control. At present, there are a lot of research results on digital flexible technology, but the research results from the perspective of journalism and communication lack systematic theoretical elaboration. This article hopes to start from the local practice, and put the emerging communication phenomenon of digital flexibility in China in recent years into a specific social and historical stage scenario for investigation. This article explores the under-researched intertextual and intermedial connections between Leonora Carrington’s transdisciplinary practice and the medium of film. The analysis focuses on the artist’s cameo appearances in two 1960s Mexican productions—There Are No Thieves in This Village (Alberto Isaac 1964) and A Pure Soul (Juan Ibáñez 1965)—which mark her creative collaborations with Surrealist filmmaker Luis Buñuel and Magic Realists Gabriel García Márquez and Carlos Fuentes. Carrington’s cameo roles are analyzed within a network of intertextual translations between her visual and literary works that often mix autobiographical and fictional motifs. Moreover, it is argued that Carrington’s cinematic mediations employ the recurring Surrealist tropes of anti-Catholic and anti-bourgeois satire. The article also investigates Carrington’s creative approach towards art directing and costume design, expressed in the Surrealist horror film The Mansion of Madness (Juan López Moctezuma 1973). The analysis examines the intermedial connections between Carrington’s practice of cinematic set design and her earlier experiments with theatrical scenography. Overall, this study aims to reveal undiscovered aspects of Leonora Carrington’s artistic identity and her transdisciplinary oeuvre.

Abstract : Bibliometric Analysis of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Domain in 21st Century Education Using Vosviewer.This study aims to determine the development of research on the domain of higher order thinking skills in Scopus indexed journals or proceedings from 2010-2020. Data collection is done using the Publish or Perish application with the keywords critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem solving. Microsoft Excel was used to analyze the development of the number of publications, author productivity, and top articles cited by Microsoft Excel, while to analyze the relationship between research topics, research trends, and research topics that were most frequently researched, the VOSViewer application was used. The results showed that the highest publication occurred in 2020, which was 404 publications (14.92%). The 3 most productive researchers are Dwyer, C, and Fahmi, M who produced 7 journal articles. Creative thinking is the most cited topic. Network visualization is divided into 6 clusters. The latest topics based on article data in this study include models, technology, emotional intelligence, active learning, and higher education which were most widely published in 2017-2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa publikasi tertinggi terjadi pada tahun 2020 yaitu sebanyak 404 publikasi (14,92%). 3 peneliti paling produktif adalah Dwyer, C dan Fahmi, M yang menghasilkan 7 artikel jurnal. Creative thinking merupakan topik yang paling banyak dikutip. Network visualization terbagi menjadi 6 klaster. Currently, there is an active process of expanding the educational space, including the higher education of the Russian Federation, at the expense of informatization. Informatization of educational area of higher education is impossible without using web-technologies and, such as social networks. The authors of the article suggest social networks to be understood as a working version of an “interactive multi-user website that implements a network social structure consisting of a group of nodes — social objects (groups of people, communities) and links between them (social relationships), on the basis of which participants can establish relationship with each other. Currently, there are several main functions of social networks: educational; adaptive (acts as a resource of adaptation); compensatory (replacing institutional mechanisms of adaptation); informational (supports communication between authors of social interaction); transit (allows an individual to make the transition along the social ladder); coordination; social support functions (strengthen communication within and outside the network) and the function of a sociocultural marker. Social networks, speaking as a special social space of the Internet, have become the sphere in which traditional forms of socialization and social relations are transformed, and communication as a type of leisure activity becomes possible not in the traditional form of direct live communication, but acquires the features of simple communication. The authors state that at present using social networks in the educational area of the higher school of the Russian Federation is minimal. The network educational community on the basis of a social network - a virtual educational environment - is necessary, first of all, for students who have difficulties in communicating directly or need additional knowledge and skills that an educational institution cannot provide. From the point of view of education, social networks can be: freely available (non-specialized networks for which professional communities are not paramount and purely professional communities of practice) and in a corporate format (free-access networks; not specialized (“general profile” network)). The advent of Web 2.0 has expanded the possibilities of using social networks in education, has changed the attitude to the Internet as a whole, and teachers have begun to more actively use the Internet services for educational and educational purposes, in extracurricular activities and creative activities. It has already been experimentally proven that network communities can serve as pedagogical practices for development: co-thinking, tolerance, mastering decentralized models, critical thinking.

The authors consider one of the most important tasks of modernization, both general and secondary vocational education, namely the comprehensive development of project forms of education in the framework of network forms of interaction of organizations of General and vocational education. The purpose of the network project training is to create conditions for self-motivated acquisition of missing knowledge by students from different sources; training skills of using the acquired knowledge to solve real cognitive and practical problems; acquisition of communication skills, work in groups; development of project skills and system thinking. The authors show that the educational project makes it possible to organize educational activities, keeping a balance between theory and practice. It stimulates the true teachings of the students themselves, and easily fits into the learning process. Within the framework of network project activity, project competence is formed as the ability and readiness of students to productive educational, research and implementation work, focus on self-education and self-improvement, integration of research and practical training activities into an inseparable whole, the transition from exclusively performing to exclusively creative, creative activity. Project competence is an interconnected complex of several components (a combination of knowledge, ability, skills, actions, experience in the field of educational research and solution of practical issues and problems of implementation).

With the rise of cultural and creative industries, cultural creativity has gradually become an important factor to promote the value of design in the future, and it is also a trend to integrate “cultural elements” into the design of products. At present, the cultural and creative industries in Western countries and Taiwan are the mainstay of their economic development. We should actively absorb their successful experiences and, with the support of national policies, carry out effective and lasting development of them, as well as continuously improve the quality of cultural and creative products. In today’s steady economic development, the emotionalization of cultural and creative consumption has gradually formed a new consumption trend. When cultural and creative consumers buy stationery, they will inevitably have three situations: purchasing instinct, purchasing behavior, and reflection. Therefore, this paper adopts the method based on machine learning to conduct in-depth research on the users of cultural and creative products of “Forbidden Day and Night Set Gift Box.” Through the research on the cultural and creative consumption intention of “Forbidden Day and Night Set Gift Box,” it can effectively promote the development of domestic cultural and creative enterprises, and then promote the customer satisfaction of cultural and creative enterprises. This paper makes a detailed analysis of it from the perspectives of data processing, feature engineering, classification prediction models, and future development directions. By studying the cultural and creative behavior of users, a deep learning model based on neural network is established. The feature extraction, feature preprocessing, feature selection, and asymmetric data collection in the process of data processing are discussed in depth. In order to further improve the prediction accuracy and conduct more in-depth research, this paper establishes a deep learning prediction model based on depth. This model is experimentally validated and it can be observed that the model is 10% more efficient than the traditional model, so the model can learn data better from the user’s behavior in several aspects, and the proposed and practice of this model has good practical significance.

AbstractIn 1987, two women hatched a business plan that became Creative Memories, a direct-marketing company that sells scrapbook materials and techniques to a mostly female clientele through a worldwide network of sales consultants. By the beginning of the new millennium, millions of people had participated in Creative Memories workshops. Many successful imitators also flooded the crafting market with specialized publications, Web sites, tools, and materials, creating an industry worth $2.55 billion by 2004.As significant as the economic impact of scrapbooking is, however, the claims of importance made by its practitioners rate closer examination. Promising to keep photos safe from deterioration, Creative Memories also sold a worldview, reflected across the industry, that such preservation is essential to human flourishing. Such a claim invites considerations both of how the promoters of memory-keeping envision its working and how memory-keepers themselves distinctively shape their practice. This article takes the view that album-making constitutes a kind of innovative female meaning-making (that is, religion) shaped, in part, by American-style Common Sense epistemology while also reflecting what we might call a sidelong feminism, in which a woman expresses agency, claims her voice, and declares the complexity of her full humanity, all by using modes that, on the surface, appear compliant with patriarchy. This article also uses certain notions of religious testimony to gauge the space between the Common Sense project of the album-making industry and the results produced by album-makers themselves.

Abstract Home modification (HM) can promote older adults’ functioning as their needs change, reduce fall risks, and support caregivers. A supportive home environment is increasingly important as homes become healthcare delivery sites for home and community-based services (HCBS). HM is funded and administered by disparate agencies, often hindering access to HM services for at-risk older adults who need them the most. The Aging Network (State Units on Aging (SUAs), Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), and Title VI organizations serving Native American older adults) plays an important but not well understood role in HM. To address this lack of research, the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, ADvancing States, and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in cooperation with Scripps Gerontology Center conducted three national surveys, with support from the Administration for Community Living: 1) directors of the 56 SUAs with an 89% response rate; 2) directors of the 618 AAAs with a 79% response rate; and 3) directors of 276 Title VI programs with an 84% response rate. Exemplary practices included HM advocacy through interagency coalitions; state and local plan priority setting; creative HM financing with housing, disability, and health care sectors, including partnerships with Medicaid agencies; and integration of HMs into state and local HCBS, including nursing home transition and caregiver support programs. Findings on the types of HM activities, service delivery barriers, funding sources, collaborations, and targeted populations will inform HM policy and practice for the Aging Network’s critical state and local agencies serving low-income older adults.

The aim of the study is a practical analysis of social network services as a place to store multimedia resources that allow you to store and share digital photos, audio and video recordings, text files, presentations, and organize resource discussions for free. They can be used as educational materials (educational videos, photos on various topics, audio and video recordings of scientists' speeches, eyewitnesses of events, etc.), as well as means to store student video, photo, audio files and creative works. Method. Theoretical materials of the research are the best practices of foreign and domestic scientists in the field of network communications and their impact on the future specialists preparing in geography and tourism, namely articles, monographs, abstracts, dissertations. The study uses the method of theoretical materials analysis, as well as methods of observation, abstraction in identifying the qualification characteristics of social Internet networks. Content analysis (analysis of the social networks community messages content); statistical and comparative information analysis was carried out. Empirical research on the social Internet networks lies in creating and filling a community on the social Internet network, as well as engaging students in that community. Results. In the research it was found out that social networks can be used to solve the following tasks: to organize the collective work of students in the classroom (and outside it), which will be favourable to the communication, to gain the team experience; to ensure the development of the students personalized learning environment; to promote students independent learning, as everyone works in his own rhythm; to promote informal communication between the tutor and the students; to change the tutor's role, who will become an assistant, friend, mentor; to create digital educational content of the disciplines. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that on the comprehensive analysis of social internet networks, internet blogs, tourist internet resources basis, their place and role in the information and educational environment of higher education institutions are determined, in particular: the specifics of the content, prospects and mechanisms of the development of the social Internet networks from the point of view of training future tourists are determined; the dependence of the functions of the Social Internet Network, Internet blogs on their structural elements is established. Practical significance. The obtained scientific results are used in the educational process of future specialists in the field of training "Tourism", with the educational qualification "tourism expert, organizer of excursion and animation activities" when teaching the disciplines "study of local lore and tourism", "tourist work", "recreational geography", "geography of Ukraine", "professional competencies in tourism business", "organization of tourist activities". The research practices can be used to conduct tourist, museum, local history, excursion and other types of student's practice.

This article, derived from a larger ethnographic research created around the production of the award-winning independent film Notes on Blindness (2016) and conducted by a researcher active as a film professional, explores the deeper consequences of choosing to pursue a production ‘in-house’. Through participant observation, Actor-Network Theory and negotiation between film practice and research, the researcher finds independent filmmakers caught between the opposing trends of high-end industry and the digital economies. The organization forms observed in this article stand opposite to the prevalent globalized creative labour trends motivated by the internet and new technologies, and can best be described as a revival of Richard Sennett’s craft workshop in the digital era. These are ultra-dense creative spaces where craftspersons nurture their creative impulses and shield them from the negative aspects of the technological and economic upheaval. In the hope that the findings will inform future filmmakers in the role of this specific type of organization in delivering the intended output, this article offers insights beyond the industry self-avowal and sales pitch.

Recognising the untapped potential of multiple discrete community-university partnerships (CUPs) in San Francisco, San Francisco’s Neighborhood Empowerment Network (NEN) and the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement at San Francisco State University are in the midst of creating a collaborative community-university partnership called NEN University (NENu),which includes other Bay Area institutions of higher education as well as city agencies, non-profit organisations, businesses and neighbourhood resident leaders. This article reflects on the author’s experiences and observations in the ‘doing’ of engaged scholarship as it relates to NENu over the past two years. It contributes to the discussion of how best to build sustainable (in that they have staying power beyond the commitment of a few key individuals) and effective (in terms of building or strengthening communities) CUPs. In so doing it offers a framework for understanding possible threats to the sustainability of CUPs and applies that framework to an account of NENu’s partnership development process. This paper traces the history and development of Playful by Design, a cross-campus initiative at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from which the interdisciplinary Game Studies & Design program emerged. Interdisciplinary collaborations bridge differences between academic cultures and can spur innovative research and new programs and initiatives. Games, understood both as objects of study and as a methodology for conducting research on topics other than games, are moving into the mainstream within multiple academic disciplines; that doesn’t mean that interdisciplinary game studies must disappear as an intellectual endeavor. Playful by Design has become a local and global community of practice in which shared and overlapping interests in game-relevant research of all kinds, but also design, pedagogy, and technology, provide a durable interdisciplinary third space. As a network, it can welcome multidisciplinary activities pursued by teachers, scholars, artists, and designers within their own disciplines and in their own ways. Through creative collaborations, the sharing of resources, and the growth of team-based studio work and other experiential learning, this approach facilitates the emergence of transdisciplinary and glocal aspirations. These include shared values of accessibility and inclusion, reflected in how we teach and conduct research, and in the design and creation of games, simulations, and other interactive and immersive experiences that address the critical shared challenges of our times.
