Resumen
Postmodernism, a mid-20th-century cultural movement reacting against modernism, challenges grand narratives and absolute truth, emphasising fragmentation. Virtual Reality (VR), simulating real or alternative experiences, has become an accessible artistic medium. Postmodern art in VR is self-referential and interactive, exploring reality-simulation dynamics. Artists like Gibson/Martelli's "The History of the Future" transport users to a dystopian future, emphasising activism and choice. Jacolby Satterwhite employs VR for performance, blurring virtual and real through digital sculptures and live presentations. VR in postmodern art prompts questions about reality and viewer-artwork relationships. As users immerse in virtual environments, the line between reality and simulation blurs, challenging traditional ideas of authorship and interpretation. Multiple perspectives emerge, aligning with a postmodern emphasis on plurality. The abstract concludes by asserting VR's role as a platform for postmodern exploration, enabling new forms of expression and interaction, and pushing artistic boundaries.

Resumen
The movement of globalization caused postmoderns to "replace the modern worldview" with "postmodern worldview". That means there are massive and fundamental changes. Therefore, this transition period is a period of great change, which is not easily accepted by many people because it has caused many major problems with humanity. Globalization presses in many directions, so that nothing is lost. Globalization has made many people and organizations become voracious and ferocious. That means using the time available. Nothing is greater than God's will. The will of globalization is under God's will. This is the strong foundation of a servant of God acting as the main actor of globalization. The main role of God's servants as the main actor of globalization, namely preaching the Word.

Postmodern architectural products that can be described as kitsch have become rapidly consumed objects because they have appealed to the whole society. As a demand stimulating, easily comprehensible, and rapidly consumable product, kitsch has gained an important place in postmodern culture and architecture. These features of kitsch have easily made it a paradoxical part of consumption culture. After the Neoclassical boom in the 18th century, architectural movements such as Eclecticism, Orientalism, and Historicism became widespread in the 19th century. Towards the end of the 20th century, these tendencies came to the fore again within the Postmodern paradigm, and new kitsch architectural structures have begun to be produced in these undertakings in accordance with the spirit of the period. Eclecticism which has become prominent again in postmodern architecture has been referred to as neo-eclecticism or eclectic populism and has been defined as a style that ‘complexity, uncertainty and contradictions’ are expressed, ‘references from history and symbolic elements are used. Together with various historical forms in the postmodern period, orientalist images have been also used. Images consisting of stylized views of the Western culture on the Orient and that are not based on an authentic eastern depiction have been used in the production of orientalist architectural form. In recent years, eclectic, kitsch, orientalist, neoclassical forms that are independent of context and time have been frequently encountered in architectural applications in also Turkey. On one hand, elements from Turkish culture have been used and on the other hand, architectural elements from foreign cultures have been preferred. It is seen that there have been contradictions between form and meaning in educational structures built in Turkey during the period that the paradigms of the Postmodern era have been dominant. In this study, it is aimed to read and analyze the concepts of kitsch, eclecticism, neoclassicism, orientalism in the postmodern paradigm on recent university buildings and campus portals. In line with this purpose, an extensive literature research was conducted within the scope of the study; in the case study, recent university buildings and portals were analyzed in terms of postmodernism, the historical periods and architectural elements they derived were determined.

Resumen
Appropriation can generally be explained as the reinterpretation and production of artworks by quoting them. Appropriation is associated with the postmodern period, although it was also seen in previous periods. In the postmodern period, in which the pluralist approach gained prominence, collage and montage became widespread; artists perform reproductions containing different expressions and effects, using quotes, pastiche, parody, emulation, and similar usage within the scope of intersemiotic. Artists can use the works they quote through these reproduction forms in different contexts as meaning and content, as well as in similar tendencies. In this study, it is aimed to examine the concept of appropriation in line with the artistic qualities of the postmodern period and the Spanish artist Lluis Barba's reproduction on famous artworks named American Gothic, Athens School and The Gleaners in the context of intersemiotic. Within the scope of the study, the reproductions analyzed with intersemiotic, which examines interformal quotations between homogeneous or different types of art products, were interpreted in consideration of the artist's explanations. Analyzing and interpreting the reproductions in relation to the artworks is considered important in terms of developing interpretation knowledge and critical perspective.

Baigiamajame magistro darbe nagrinėjama postmodernizmo stiliaus raiška privačiuose gyvenamuosiuose namuose Lietuvoje, nuo XX a. 9 dešimtmečio vidurio iki 10 dešimtmečio pabaigos. Darbo apimtis – 92 p. teksto be priedo, 57 iliustr., 9 schemos, 99 bibliografiniai šaltiniai, 3 priedai.
The goal of Master thesis is to investigate expression and features of postmodern style of private dwelling-houses of Lithuania, from the middle of the 9th decade to the 10th decade of the twentieth century. In order to reveal the characteristics, features and cultural significance of the style in Lithuania, the private dwelling-houses of postmodern style of the Western world (the U.S., Western Europe, Japan) are analyzed, as well as conditions which prompted their development. The paper discusses that the social, political and economic factors of Lithuania at that time, led to the suspicion and critical evaluation of postmodern architecture in general. It is assumed that due to the political-economical factors, the Western magazines were one of the main tools for Lithuanian architects to get to know postmodern architecture. Therefore, a comparative analysis between private dwelling-houses published in foreign periodicals, and of Lithuania, is conducted. Consequently the most common features of private dwelling-houses of postmodern style in Lithuania and their links with Western architecture are determined. Houses of Lithuania of high quality postmodern architecture are named, their valuable properties are defined. Thesis consists of: 92 p. text without extras, 57 pictures., 9 schemes, 99 bibliographical entries, 3 appendixes included.

"The special period and the postmodern turn: Rewriting the Cuban Revolution in the Cold War aftermath". Tulane University, 2000.

Resumen
With the collapse of the Soviet Union in the late 1980s, the interpretive framework for cultural analysis in Cuba has shifted in fundamental ways. On the material level, the cultural institutions of the Cuban Revolution---the UNEAC, the ICAIC, or Casa de las Americas, for example---no longer fund the arts as they had for the first thirty years of socialist government. Cuban writers, filmmakers and musicians living on the island have thus come to depend, to a large extent, on the same foreign markets, and companies as their contemporaries in exile, blurring like never before the already confining categories of 'revolutionary' and 'counterrevolutionary.' Although the new market realities, together with the perceived failure of the socialist economic model throughout the world, constitute a crisis for the official narrative of the Cuban Revolution, the three texts that are the focus of this study rewrite not only the triumphant socialist narrative but the hegemonic narrative of exile as well. 'El lobo, el bosque y el hombre nuevo' by Senel Paz (1991), Las palabras perdidas by Jesus Diaz (1992) and Informe contra mi mismo by Eliseo Alberto (1997) do not participate in a common social movement or belong to a common literary school; all three, nonetheless, deconstruct the nostalgia-driven narrative of a paradise lost that has characterized much exile literature as well as the Utopian narrative of socialist revolution and redemption. The authors themselves, moreover, resist categorization as either old-guard exiles or militant revolutionaries---a fact that may not justify positivist or deterministic conclusions about the nature of their work but that does, nonetheless, structure the cultural significance or reception of that work. We are confronted, then, with works that occupy more ambiguous cultural and ideological spaces than revolution and exile had generated heretofore, and that cultivate, at the textual level, an ideological and cultural middle ground. The challenge these texts pose to the contending hegemonic narratives of revolution and exile, then, comes not in the form of an alternative and definitive counternarrative, but rather in the form of self-consciously partial and multiperspectival narrative modes that undermine the very premise of narrative authority or objectivity

This thesis employs the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) methodology proposed by Norman Fairclough to examine the colonial text, ‘Account of the Inhabitants’, written in 1628 by the Dutch missionary, Georgius Candidius (1597-1647), focusing, in particular, on narratives related to women’s marriage and abortions customs. The aim of the research is to identify the problematic usage of language and to trace the development of the written text and the accompanying discourse, showing how this was produced and practiced, as well as how it influenced Formosa’s Aboriginal society. Candidius’ written words influenced the Western world’s perception of Formosa’s Aboriginal people and have generated a series of historical representations since the seventeenth century. In Taiwan itself, after the lifting of martial law in 1987 and the transformation of political power, the so-called “Pingpu Studies” became, for a while, a main strand of academic research: Dutch-Formosan archival material was drawn upon and the phenomenon of textualization and reproduction emerged on the island. CDA is employed as a linguistic and sociological research method for the historical text and for its later usage in the Western and Taiwanese context. Based on the results of this analysis, the author highlights the ideology implicit in the account provided by Candidius, revealing the structures of power relations and the social inequality. Ultimately, the research doubts that the unchallenged legitimacy of Candidius’ text as a first-hand resource in Taiwan historical studies by a perspective of Postmodern.

Richter, Klaus Max Erich. "Mit dem Hörer ins Gespräch kommen : Situationsbezug der Predigt in der Epoche Johann Michael Sailers im Vergleich zur Gegenwart". Thesis, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/10500/14607.

Texto completo
Preaching in the church today faces manifold challenges. The dynamic web of relationships between preacher and audience, text and situation is difficult to keep in balance. When analysing the homiletic publications of the present and recent past, it becomes apparent that the sermon is very thoroughly reflected with the context of the situation of the audience. In this connection, one has to draw attention to a possible conflict: a sermon designed with regard to the situation of the audience may be tempted to neglect the biblical text and its demands. Therefore, this thesis aims to make a clarifying contribution to the question of the audience orientation of sermons, namely by means of a homiletic comparison of the epoch of Johann Michael Sailer with the present and recent past. In spite of all critical distance to the history of thought of the Enlightenment Movement, we should not overlook the fact that fruitful impulses emanated from this time, and that, for example, many concerns of the “Catholic Enlightenment” were addressed again at the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). The homiletic efforts of the Enlightenment period in the 18th century, which were widely led by anthropological interests, can be recognized as analogous to the current situation. The homiletic conception of the pastoral theologian and later Bishop of Regensburg, Johann Michael Sailer (1751-1832), will be described in particular. His conception of Christian ethical teaching on a biblical foundation is of timeless relevance. As comparison, the homiletic drafts of Ernst Lange, Rudolf Bohren, Wilfried Engemann and Rolf Zerfaß will be exemplarily analysed, particularly with regard to the expectation of the audience.

Resumen
Over the last 70 years, Holocaust representations increased significantly as cultural objects distributed on a large scale: fictional books, museum sites, artworks, documentaries, and films are only a few samples of those echoes the Holocaust produced in contemporary Western culture. There are some specific patterns in the way the Holocaust has been represented that, however, contrast with the survivors’ account of the same event: for example, the dichotomy between bad and good characters so essential within Holocaust-based media – especially on television and film - does not really match with the testimony’s experience. While storytelling strategies may help to involve the public by emotionally engaging with the story, the risks of altering the real meaning of the Holocaust are quite high: what we often label as a “story” is actually been an outrageous, documented mass-genocide. Furthermore, as the age gap between the present and the past generation progresses, also the collective awareness of Nazi crimes as a real fact gets compromised. This volume explores selected Holocaust narrations by contextualizing the historical, literary, and social influences those texts had in their unique points of view. Starting with some recent examples of Holocaust exploitation through social media, the first chapter explores the paradigm shift when the Holocaust became a cultural, fictional trend rather than a historical massacre. In the second chapter, the analysis examines postmodern representations of Holocaust and Nazi semantics through relevant examples taken from both American and European literature. The third chapter analyses Europe Central by William T. Vollman, as all the narratological and cultural issues considered in the previous two chapters are well outlined in this articulated novel, where the relationship between reality and its representation after the postmodernist period is largely investigated. In chapter four, an account is given of the connections and differences between the narratological category romance, as understood by Northrop Frye, and Holocaust narration features. In chapter five, those elements are used to consider the work of Italian Holocaust survivor and Jewish writer Primo Levi, as his narration around Auschwitz adopts some fictional tools and still refuses undemanding storytelling mechanisms. The sixth and final chapter examines the relevant novel Les Benviellants by Jonathan Littell, considering its Nazi genocide account through the antagonist’s perspective.

Resumen
Contemporary conflicts and warfare are invariably connected to some recurrent elements: globalization; the decline of the State; the emergence of transnational relations, both cultural and economic; late capitalism; post-industrialism; the end of ideologies and metaphysics; and the rise of the “society of spectacle” and the information age. These elements are all generally recognized as being the distinctive characteristics of postmodernity. The media plays an important role in understanding conflict dynamics and in illuminating some characteristics of postmodern conflict. The literature on the relationship between the media and conflict develops concepts and theories which are essential for understanding the role of the media in the evolution and conduct of contemporary conflicts. This literature focuses on two different aspects: firstly, the specific activities of the mass media, i.e. the media coverage of conflicts, and secondly, the interaction between the media and the political and military decision-making processes. Following either the powerful media paradigm or the limited effects hypothesis, these works develop in the same period very different concepts like propaganda and the CNN effect. It is important to keep in mind that these concepts are the result of an attempt to clarify the existing conceptualization of the role of the media in present conflicts and do not represent consolidated categories as such.

Resumen
This chapter uses the term ‘postmodern’ to code a new set of circumstances and processes interacting to mark the period in which they became operative as substantially different from the preceding time. It argues that, at least in terms of Jewish history, the ‘postmodernity’ — in the literal sense of succeeding modernity — of the current era is demonstrable. By proposing this periodization, the chapter reveals its own metahistory. Nevertheless, it offers this construction in the hope that it will be part of a process of reconsideration of how we configure, organize, and present the Jewish past, as well as how we understand the Jewish present. After all, if Jews are no longer modern, then it begs the question of what that might mean for modernity, if not of the Jews themselves.

Resumen
The Postmodern period is characterized by significant changes in the system of Monetary Relations, which concern not only technical innovations but also the very essence of Money. It creates a necessity to analyze Monetary Innovations with purposes to build a theory of their impact on the Monetary Sphere. Based on this, the author uses process tracing and event analysis methods (in particular, in the theoretical part of the work—theory-building process tracing). The main conclusions of the analysis were the conclusions that Financial Globalization logically requires the emergence of Global Money, but the problem is complicated not only by the fact that there are different options for such Money but also by the fact that Globalization itself develops nonlinearly and changes in the economic and political environment will also affect the choice of a Global Money Model. However, the dominant trend is the Destuffation of Money—that is, the disappearance of material (stuff) forms of money, and therefore, the real choice of such a model is between Cryptocurrencies (which represent the Free Market) and Central Bank Digital Currencies—CBDCs (which represent the Monetary Sovereignty of the State).

Resumen
Abstract America of the 1950s and early 1960s was a nation characterized by consensus and confidence.1 Many Americans, including most legal process scholars and political theorists, had believed throughout the 1950s that the nation was joined in a consensus celebrating democracy and the rule of law. Moreover, they were confident that because of American knowhow, prosperity, and power, these noble principles could not only suffuse the lives of all Americans but also could beneficently shape the entire world. Yet, this period of consensus was, perhaps, “a fool’s paradise … a time of false complacency and of hubristic and dangerous illusions.” The early civil rights movement suggested the flaws in the idea of consensus, but then widespread support for the movement itself became part of the consensus—reflecting ostensibly the American commitments to liberty and equality. And the successes of the early movement only fueled American confidence: most Americans believed that Southern racism could be defeated so that all citizens would have an equal chance to share in the American dream.

Resumen
Cityspace has been the topic of urban and cultural studies for at least two decades and has opened a variety of ways to approach the city, from historical and cultural perspectives to socio-geographical, economic, religious, literary, postmodernist, post-colonial and, more recently, geo-critical ones. The article looks at the European and American city from the 1970s to the present through the lenses offered by the theoretical approaches by Edward Soja, David Harvey, Michel Foucault, Frederick Jameson, Bertrand Westphal, Manuel Castells, among others, while highlighting the specific characteristics of cityspace and citizenship, the use and misuse of living and imagined spaces in the period mentioned above. The shift from the modern city to the postmodern metropolis and global megalopolis has entailed essential changes in the views on cityspace both from the architectural perspective and from the city dweller’s perception of space in the city. How these changes have affected our lives and what the city of the future will look like are two core questions this article attempts to answer.

Resumen
Consumerist society is a concept which was exist in modern history and raised up with postmodern period. Therefore, it belongs to the period of time corresponding to after modernity of mankind. Some features of the consumerist society like consumption of images and consumption for pleasure, causes serious environmental problems. Because of frantic production and energy consumption in order to meet the demands about consuming and discharging of goods without obsolescence, our planet is becoming less and less livable. Create awareness of this is to be done first to put a stop to dangerous downturn. In order to emerge a social reaction and to provide conscious consumption, it is necessary to create awareness about the damage to the environment of people first. Otherwise it seems to, it will not be a livable world for our future and our children. Here the key issue at this point to keep in mind is, there is no other planet that we can live yet.

Resumen
The periodization of fine and applied art after the industrial revolution and the response of alienated artists to industrial kitsch testifies to the utility and purpose of art—the artistic and social avantgardes and the crown of all their endeavors in the heroic period. From art and craft pastiche, to utopian efforts to reform society through design, a rich linear syntagm was structured that intrigued and burdened the creatives from this region, who sought to introduce the land of peasants and barbarogens into the currents of industrial and social progress, culture and art. One of those individuals, in whom Morris and Marinetti, Van Doesburg and Itten, Gropius and Meyer, Vassarelli and Dibiffe... Müller-Brockman and Rand conflicted, tirelessly pursued the affirmation and institutionalization of applied art and design through pedagogical, editorial, theoretical and research work, as well as visual and graphic practice. Miodrag Miša Nedeljković was a modernist with a small 'm', artist and designer, theoretician and practitioner, who nomadically moved through the currents of modern and postmodern fine and applied art and design with renaissance curiosity, driven by intrigue and logic, was primarily concerned with the emergence and establishment of circumstances, and environmental issues.

Resumen
The article analyzes the novelistic work of E. Katishonok. In her novels the author adheres to his own aesthetic program, essentially realistic and postmodern in form. Katishonok, in the spirit of postmodernist trends, affirms the reality of consciousness that transforms life “close to the text,” which becomes clearer in the endings of novels, in which the image of the subject of speech / “a creative person” appears. References to previous texts become markers of aesthetic convention and at the same time serve to destroy it. In addition, the genre-specific dynamics of the texts on which the author relies (fairy tale - epic - novel), reflecting the process of individualization of the subject of speech in the narrative over the centuries, coincides with the evolution of the image of the narrator in her novels.

Resumen
The analysis of theories and models of radicalization existing in psychology and sociology is given. The complexity and transitivity of the world, the emerging methodological trends in psychology, the change of postmodern discourse to metamodernism require new psychological approaches to a research of this phenomenon, which can take into account the role of cultural factors and anthropological turn, as well as space and time as ontological constants of reality. Theoretical: theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific literature, comparison, generalization, interpretation. The paper summarizes a number of empirical studies of the authors related to the problems of extremism. The goal is to consider the evolution of ideas about the radicalization of protest activity and substantiate the high relevance of the subject-being approach to explain the problem of extremism. The authors distinguish six main theories and models that reveal the nature of radicalization: the theory of anomy (R. Merton), the theory of "relative deprivation" (T. Garr), the concept of an authoritarian personality (A. Adorno), a model of social identity in collective activity (M. Van Zomeren ), the model of radicalization (R. Borum), the model of radicalization (F. Mohaddam). The authors note the demand for a metamodern methodological strategy, which makes it possible to record personal transformations and construct new images of a person. The authors come to the conclusion that the substantive differences in approaches lie in the influence quantity of external determinants causing the emergence of radical attitudes. In the development of the theme of extremism, the main ones are the principle of the unity of the personality and its being, the methodological principle of subjectivity and the principle of uncertainty, which reveal additional nuances of the phenomenon that increases cognitive capabilities. The conditions of the subject-being approach are considered and the concept of protest activity is presented, based on the notions of "existential personal identity", "subjective activity", "subjectivity", revealing the reasons for negative transformation of personality, considering extremism as a violation of the developing configuration of identity. The subject-being approach to the personality is recognized as the most efficient theoretical and methodological basis for researching this problem, since it allows us to overcome the deficiency of the content given by the deterministic interpretation of radicalization.

Resumen
Play and game are two activities which allow us to be and develop as human beings, and they represent two basic components of education conceived of as a practice of teaching and learning. The importance of these activities which belong both to human nature and culture has been stressed by many modern and contemporary philosophers and educationists (Schiller, Huizinga, Simon, etc.). In recent years, the Polish sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Baumann, father of so-called "liquid theory" of society, has discussed the role and function of play and game within postmodern society. Pedagogy as a theoretical and practical science of education highlights the importance of examining and studying all human games in order to identify those that can be better used as a means to promote education and its values in the context of leisure. Sort pedagogy as a science of physical and leisure activity is interested in this topic. To be clear, this science is interested in studying sport as a recreational activity which always implies body actions, movement, and play/game. For this reason, among the points of view of the sciences dealing with the study of human games, that of sport pedagogy can be seen as one of the most capable of explaining, comprehending and understanding what play and game really are and their meaning for the person and her/his education. The digital revolution and the advent of virtual reality in all its forms (mainly 3D) we experience in our everyday life have created new scenarios for developing new educational games and virtual ways to play the sports. All these scenarios frame and mark a new digital era in which communication technologies give rise to new trends in education, and edutainment (a concept expressing both education and entertainment) plays a fundamental role and function. For this reason, starting from this cultural analysis and utilizing a hermeneutical methodological approach, our study will classify, first all, the different types of educational games, and show their implications from a theoretical point of view. Secondly, it will stress the importance of sport pedagogy in studying the issues dealing with this specific research field. Our aim is to show that digital and virtual games are emerging tools capable of fostering leisure along with health, exercise, and sport. We want to demonstrate that this kind of games allows pupils and children as digital natives to learn and to be educated in a true educational way, that is playing. In conclusion, because of their being wonderful tools to improve learning skills and to promote educational values and the sports in their different aspects, educational and virtual reality-based games have not to be considered with suspicion by educators and (physical education) teachers but a great opportunity to teach and learn.
