Resumen
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the techniques of matricing used by Egyptian dentists, and evaluate the influence of these techniques on the reproduction of optimum proximal contacts for posterior proximal resin composite restorations. Material and methods: An online questionnaire was developed and sent to 785 dentists via e-mail and social media platforms. The survey asked the participants about the following: the highest academic degree achieved and their experience, techniques of matricing used, brands of matricing systems used, assessment of proximal contact points, their evaluation of the contact points they reproduced, and their assessment of the restorations’ emergence profiles. Results: A total of 415 dentists participated in the study (response rate 52.8%). 308 dentists (74%) preferred using the sectional matrix system, while 107 dentists (26%) preferred using the circumferential matrix system. One hundred twenty-six dentists (31%) reported that the circumferential matrix systems reproduced optimum contacts, 105 dentists (25%) reported tight contacts and 184 dentists (44%) reported open contacts. However, for the sectional matrix systems, the optimum contacts were reported by 279 dentists (67%) tight contacts by 109 dentists (26%) and open contacts by 27 dentists (7%). There was a statistically significant difference between the sectional matrix systems and the circumferential matrix systems regarding the tightness of the proximal contact points (P<0.0001). Conclusions: Egyptian dentists preferred using the sectional matrix systems. The survey indicated that optimum contact points were highly associated with the sectional matrix systems, while poor (open and tight) contacts were highly associated with the circumferential matrix systems.

Some argue that the ultimate purpose of accounting research should be to improve accounting practice, rather than simply to describe or understand or critique it. Hence a gap appears to have emerged between practitioners and academics with regards to accounting research. In order to exploit as better as possible the output of the accounting research performed by academic researchers, the accounting profession should create a point of contact; auditing networks might facilitate this link. On the other hand, research performed by academics should become "understandable" by practitioners using a different jargon and simple mathematical formulas.

Resumen
This study aimed to evaluate the number, intensity and position of occlusal contact points in a case of mesiocclusion, hyperdivergence, with open bite. An occlusal record was taken from a patient with anterior and lateral open bite mesiocclusion, using the Planmeca Esmerald S intraoral scanner in maximum intercuspation. The intensity of the occlusal contact was analyzed with the software 3shape Ortho Analyzer Orthodontics, using the Occlusion Map module, through the 3D Color Map tool, with a 0.5 mm virtual articular paper. These results were compared to the occlusal support points defined by Planas [10]. The interpretation of the data obtained was made by assessing the interocclusal intensity of the contact points, number of contacts and position during three different moments (1S, 2S, 3S) in the record taking process. The chromatic scale of the Color Map is: red, orange, yellow, green and blue. To identify the occlusal contact points in digital, they are shown in red points when full contact occurs, while minimum contact is shown in blue. We evaluated the number of teeth with interocclusal contacts. It was determined that having the appropriate number of contacts does not imply that they are in the correct position. In addition, the method suggests reliability in the filing and record keeping of occlusal contacts. By identifying intensity, number and position of the occlusal support point we can objectively record interocclusal alterations.

Resumen
Background The growing use of digital primary care consultations has led to concerns about resource use, equity and quality. One of these is how it affects antibiotic prescription. Differences in ease of access for patients and available diagnostic information for the prescribing physicians are reasons to believe prescription rates may be affected. Objectives We estimated differences in antibiotic prescription between traditional office-based and digital contacts, if these differences varied between groups of diagnoses depending on the availability of information for the prescribing physician, and if differences were associated with socio-demographic patient characteristics. Methods Using individual level register data for a sample of patients diagnosed with an infection over a two-year period, we estimated differences in prescription between the two types of contacts and applied propensity score techniques to mitigate possible problems with treatment selection bias. Results The share of antibiotic prescription was 28 (95% CI 27–30, p < 0.001) to 33 (95% CI 29–36, p < 0.001) percentage points lower among digital contacts as compared to office-based contacts. For urinary tract infections, the differences in prescription rates between the two contact types were smaller (34 to 41 percentage points difference) than for throat and skin infections (50 to 60 percentage points difference). For women, rural, older, and people born outside Sweden, digital contacts were associated with higher prescription rates. Conclusions Antibiotic prescription rates were significantly lower for digital contacts compared with office-based contacts. The findings suggest that digital primary care may be an effective alternative to in-person visits without undue consequences for antibiotic prescription levels, although to varying degree depending on diagnosis.

Resumen
The extracellular matrix is vital for tissue organisation in multicellular organisms. Cells attach to the extracellular matrix at discrete points on the cell surface, termed cell-matrix contacts. In general molecular terms, these contacts are assembled from large multiprotein complexes. However, many forms of matrix contacts can be distinguished by microscopy or by biochemical criteria, and these fulfil a diverse range of roles associated with cell adhesion, guidance, migration, matrix assembly, differentiation and survival. Two major functional categories are the protrusive and contractile matrix contacts. I describe contexts for the formation of protrusive or contractile contacts and discuss recent information on the molecular processes by which these contacts are specified, coordinated and regulated at a cellular level.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Objectives (1) To evaluate the applicability of using 3D digital models in the assessment of the magnitude of occlusal contacts by measuring occlusal contact surface areas (OCSAs) and 3D mesh points in ‘contact’ (OCMPs) in a sample of orthodontic patients; (2) To detect any sex differences in the magnitude of occlusal contacts in all malocclusion groups; (3) To detect intergroup differences; (4) To assess possible correlations between occlusal contacts and other dental characteristics. Materials and methods Study casts of 120 malocclusion patients were selected and divided into 4 groups (class I division 1, class II division 1, class II division 2, class III) with equal numbers for both sexes. 3D digital models were produced using O3DM™ technology. Occlusal contacts were quantified using two methods of measuring. Results (1) No significant sexual differences were detected for OCMPs (mesh points) and OCSAs (mm2) in all groups. (2) There were statistically significant differences among malocclusion groups for OCMPs and OCSAs (p < 0.001). Tukey's HSD posthoc tests showed that class III patients had significantly less occlusal contacts than other malocclusion groups. (3) Stepwise multiple regression equations showed that overjet, lower arch width and overbite could explain approximately 19.5% of the total variance of OCSAs and OCMPs. Conclusion Sexual differences in occlusal contacts were not detected. Class I division 1 patients had the highest amount of occlusal contacts among all groups of malocclusion. Overjet, overbite and lower dental arch width were best predictors of occlusal contacts in the current sample. How to cite this article Al-Rayes NZ, Hajeer MY. The questions are: Where are the ‘footprints’ of the ancient Macedonian Macedonians’ toponyms and vocabulary, remaining in the linguistic-semantic fund that would witness the continuity of historical development and transformation, respectively, the “antico-Slavic mixing” that has been widely claimed by some Macedonian historian? “What are the remaining words of the ancient Macedonian heritage, even of the language of the old Greeks old neighbors who would testify to their every day contacts?”, when we see that today’s vocabulary fund of the Macedonian language is strictly Slavic, except for Turkish and Bulgarian-Serbian borrowings and the modern inflows of internationalisms and technicalities? Where are the old ancient Macedonian words which the Macedonian Slavic language today inherited, however few were they ?! The ancient language dictionary of the ancient Macedonian tribe should have definitely left a mark on today’s Macedonian language vocabulary, as they have left the mark of the old Anglo-Saxon in today’s English language or the language of Old Gallons in the French language today. This is the fact of the missing points of contacts between these two cultures, among others....

Resumen
Nonhomologous chromosome interactions take place in both somatic and meiotic cells. Prior to this study, we had discovered special contacts through the SYCP3 (synaptonemal complex protein 3) filament between the short arms of nonhomologous acrocentrics at the pachytene stage in the Alay mole vole, and these contacts demonstrate several patterns from proximity to the complete fusion stage. Here, we investigated the nonhomologous chromosome contacts in meiotic prophase I. It turned out that such contacts do not introduce changes into the classic distribution of DNA double-strand breaks. It is noteworthy that not all meiotic contacts were localized in the H3k9me3-positive heterochromatic environment. Both in the mid zygotene and in the early–mid diplotene, three types of contacts (proximity, touching, and anchoring/tethering) were observed, whereas fusion seems to be characteristic only for pachytene. The number of contacts in the mid pachytene is significantly higher than that in the zygotene, and the distance between centromeres in nonhomologous contacts is also the smallest in mid pachytene for all types of contacts. Thus, this work provides a new insight into the behavior of meiotic contacts during prophase I and points to avenues of further research.

Resumen
The improvement of mechanical contacts or microcontacts seeks a nearly uniform current density over most of contact area. When microtopography is homogeneous, this aim is achieved if nominal shape of contacting surfaces yields a nearly uniform central pressure which decreases monotonously to zero in contour points. These authors derived recently this shape for circular contacts by employing high-order surfaces. This paper extends this result to elliptical contacts. Some results are used to this end, derived for elliptical elastic contacts between high-order surfaces. As homogeneous high order surfaces lead to a highly nonuniform pressure distribution, central pressure is flattened by making the first derivatives of pressure vanish in contact center. Then, the contacts between fourth, sixth, and eighth, order surfaces are analyzed and recurrence relations for pressure distribution and contact parameters are proposed.

The reliability of Ni2Si/n-SiC ohmic contacts with Au overlayer either without or with Ta-Si-N diffusion barrier was investigated after long-time aging in air at 400oC and rapid thermal annealing in Ar up to 800oC. It is shown that aging of the Au/Ni2Si/n-SiC contacts in air at 400oC resulted in complete degradation due to both oxygen penetration and interdiffusion/reaction processes. In contrast, only a small change in properties was detected on the contacts annealed in Ar at 800°C. The stability of both electrical and structural properties of Au/TaSiN/Ni2Si/n-SiC thermally stressed contacts at different conditions points out their superior thermal stability.

Resumen
Purpose Past integrated marketing communications (IMC) frameworks have established brand contacts as important sources of information and feedback. This paper aims to discuss how the presence of multiple brand stakeholders and the proliferation of digital media increase the amount of brand information generated exponentially. When a firm fails to harness this information, it risks misalignment between brand identity and brand image, which, in turn, tarnishes brand-equity. Design/methodology/approach Past IMC frameworks are reviewed and extended to identify specific brand contact points between multiple stakeholders that hold significant potential to dynamically reconfigure brand identity. Theoretical propositions regarding the IMC function’s role in managing these contact points to generate brand-equity are offered. Findings The brand contacts described and their successful integration into a firm’s brand-equity strategy extend current IMC-based brand-equity models and suggest fruitful, novel avenues for creating brand-equity. Further, these brand contacts offer practical examples of how the scope of marketing communications can be redefined. Originality/value This paper contributes to the body of research on the elevation of IMC to a strategic level function. In addition to the synergistic communication of the brand offering, IMC needs to play a pivotal role in coordinating the contacts between the brand and stakeholders, and in extrapolating relevant brand insights from these contacts.

Resumen
The two-dimensional contact problem for an elastic body indenting an elastically similar half plane resulting in double contacts is important for various applications. In this paper, a generic quasi-static two-dimensional symmetric double contact problem with nonsingular end points between two elastically similar half planes, under the constant normal and oscillatory tangential loading, is analyzed. The classical singular integral equations approach is utilized to extract the pressure and shear functions in the contact zones; subsequently boundary conditions at end points are applied and a new side condition is derived and titled “the consistency condition” for symmetric double contacts. This condition is necessary for determining the extent of the contact and stick zones. Next, this analytical approach is applied to the symmetric indentation of a flat surface by two rigidly interconnected wedge-shaped punches.

Resumen
For epithelia to function as barriers, the intercellular space must be sealed. Sealing two adjacent cells at bicellular tight junctions (bTJs) is well described with the discovery of the claudins. Yet, there are still barrier weak points at tricellular contacts, where three cells join together. In this study, we identify tricellulin, the first integral membrane protein that is concentrated at the vertically oriented TJ strands of tricellular contacts. When tricellulin expression was suppressed with RNA interference, the epithelial barrier was compromised, and tricellular contacts and bTJs were disorganized. These findings indicate the critical function of tricellulin for formation of the epithelial barrier.

Resumen
Wherever friction occurs, mechanical energy is transformed into heat. The maximum surface temperature associated with this heating can have an important influence on the tribological behavior of the contacting components. For band contacts the partitioning of heat has already been studied extensively; however, for circular and elliptic contacts only approximate solutions exist. In this work a numerical algorithm is described to solve the steady state heat partitioning and the associated flash temperatures for arbitrary shaped contacts by matching the surface temperatures of the two contacting solids at all points inside the contact area. For uniform and semi-ellipsoidal shaped heat source distributions, representing EHL conditions and dry or boundary lubrication conditions respectively, function fits for practical use are presented giving the flash temperature as a function of the Pe´clet numbers of the contacting solids, the conductivity ratio, and the aspect ratio of the contact ellipse. These function fits are based on asymptotic solutions for small and large Pe´clet numbers and are valid for the entire range of Pe´clet numbers. By comparison with numerical results they are shown to be accurate within 5%, even for the situation of opposing surface velocities.

Resumen
The experimental electron-density distributions in crystals of five chain polymers [M(μ-X)2(py)2] (M = Zn, Cd; X = Cl, Br; py = 3,5-substituted pyridine) have been obtained from high-resolution X-ray diffraction data sets (sin θ/λ > 1.1 Å−1) at 100 K. Topological analyses following Bader's `Atoms in Molecules' approach not only confirmed the existence of (3, −1) critical points for the chemically reasonable and presumably strong covalent and coordinative bonds, but also for four different secondary interactions which are expected to play a role in stabilizing the polymeric structures which are unusual for Zn as the metal center. These weaker contacts comprise intra- and inter-strand C—H...X—M hydrogen bonds on the one hand and C—X...X—C interhalogen contacts on the other hand. According to the experimental electron-density studies, the non-classical hydrogen bonds are associated with higher electron density in the (3, −1) critical points than the halogen bonds and hence are the dominant interactions both with respect to intra- and inter-chain contacts.

Industrial and service robots deal with the complex task of grasping objects that have different shapes and which are seen from diverse points of view. In order to autonomously perform grasps, the robot must calculate where to place its robotic hand to ensure that the grasp is stable. We propose a method to find the best pair of grasping points given a three-dimensional point cloud with the partial view of an unknown object. We use a set of straightforward geometric rules to explore the cloud and propose grasping points on the surface of the object. We then adapt the pair of contacts to a multi-fingered hand used in experimentation. We prove that, after performing 500 grasps of different objects, our approach is fast, taking an average of 17.5 ms to propose contacts, while attaining a grasp success rate of 85.5%. Moreover, the method is sufficiently flexible and stable to work with objects in changing environments, such as those confronted by industrial or service robots.

Resumen
The use of pottery distributions to identify trade contacts is one of the most important tools in the archaeologist's repertoire. Recent examples of such studies, concentrating on the classical period in Cyrenaica, have produced evidence which provides valuable new insights into changing trade patterns for which there is precious little historical information. There is, at present, a debate over Cyrenaica's trading contacts during the classical period in which Fulford has proposed a definite bias towards trade with the eastern Mediterranean (Fulford 1989) whilst Lloyd has challenged the lack of emphasis given to Italian imports (Lloyd forthcoming). Abulafia's reassessment of the Pisan bacini has likewise stimulated debate on the development of trade contacts, this time in the medieval period (Abulafia 1985). Such studies rely upon two points; the first is a well-documented corpus of material and the second is a detailed background knowledge of the wares and fabrics in general circulation to which the corpus can be related. On both points medieval archaeologists are clearly still at a disadvantage to those working on the classical period, and an attempt to understand Cyrenaica's medieval trade contacts from its ceramic assemblages cannot therefore achieve the same detail as, for example, Fulford's work (1989) has done. Nonetheless, an examination of the material which is available, and a discussion of its significance, is the intention of this paper.

Purpose This paper aims to provide a theoretical principle for the stability control of robot climbing stairs, autonomously based on human–robot interaction. Through this research, tracked mobile robots with human-robot interaction will be extensively used in rescue in disaster, exploration on planetary, fighting in battle, and searching for survivors in collapsed buildings. Design/methodology/approach This paper introduces the tracked mobile robot, based on human–robot interaction, and its six moving postures. The dynamic process of climbing stairs is analyzed, and the dynamic model of the robot is proposed. The dynamic stability criterion is derived when the tracked mobile robot contacts the stairs steps in one, two and more points. A further conduction of simulation on the relationship of the traction force and bearing force vs the velocity and acceleration in the three cases was carried out. Findings This paper explains that the tracked mobile robot, based on human–robot interaction, can stably climb stairs so long as the velocity and acceleration satisfy the dynamic stability criterion as noted above. In addition, the experiment tests the correctness of dynamic stability analysis when the tracked mobile robot contacts the stair steps in one, two or more points. Originality/value This paper provides the mechanical structure and working principle of the tracked mobile robot based on human–robot interaction and proposes an identification method of dynamic stability criterion when the robot contacts the stairs steps in one, two and more points.

Resumen
The physics and technology of metal/semiconductor interfaces are key-points in the development of silicon carbide (SiC) based devices. Although in the last decade, the metal to 4H-SiC contacts, either Ohmic or Schottky type, have been extensively investigated with important achievements, these remain even now an intriguing topic since metal contacts are fundamental bricks of all electronic devices. Hence, their comprehension is at the base of the improvement of the performances of simple devices and complex systems. In this context, this paper aims to highlight some relevant aspects related to metal/semiconductor contacts to SiC, both on n-type and p-type, with an emphasis on the role of the barrier and on the carrier transport mechanisms at the interfaces.

Resumen
In long-period running of switch cabinet, the temperature of contact points will be rose by the big contact resistance, poor contact and longtime overloading. Overheat can cause oxidation of contact points and the increasing of contact resistance, and then the contact may be generated the spark and arc discharge. That is a bad circle. So the temperature of contact points can affect the reliability of switch cabinet. For detecting the temperature of contacts and the switch cabinet’s environment in Yanjin transformer substation, we design an Insulated FBG temperature sensor. The surveys of upper reaches indicate that the temperature of moving contact A gets the maximum 32.98°C Aug.20, 2011, the temperature of stationary contact A gets the minimum 5.75°C, and the change temperature between contacts and environment gets the maximum 2.82°C. According to relevant state regulations, the contact’s temperature of 70 °C and temperature’s changes of 35 °C in the case of environment’s temperature below 40°C are Alarm threshold value of switch cabinet.

Resumen
Abstract GMDE is a program, available on the desktop for Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, and Linux platforms and in a mobile version for iOS, that enables geologists to extract quantitative structural information from geologic maps and satellite images. The program facilitates the digitizing of strikes and dips or calculating them from three-point problems, calculation of stratigraphic map thickness, determination of piercing points on faults, and the construction of down-plunge projections and vertical cross sections with projected apparent dips, contacts, and cylindrical folds. The program also enables the automatic plotting of planar contacts across topography based on orientation calculated from three clicked points, which can be carried out in the field for immediate hypothesis testing. Error propagation is built into many of the calculations. Maps and satellite images require no projection or datum information, just four points with known latitude and longitude information. Alternatively, the user can enter the map or image in MBTiles format. Users can easily extract X-Y-Z data for any clicked or calculated point or polygon, enabling them to make their own calculations.

In his article, we explore a method for measuring position and attitude parameters of protable three-coordinate equipment based on monocular vision. The T-Probe of Laica is used as the experiment equipment and its four coplanar LEDs are chosen as feature points. While measuring, the probe contacts the measured point, the CCD camera takes the image of four coplanar feature points, the image coordinate of the feature points are accurately obtained by image processing programs. Using the linear idea for solving the P4P question, the coordinate of these feature points and attitude of object are gotten. Eventually, the measured points' coordinates are derived.

This paper uses group theory for enumeration of contacts between geometric elements necessary for kinematic registration or part referencing in robotics. The results are applied to type synthesis of tactile sensing mechanical fixtures. Kinematic registration is an important step in robot calibration and in data driven automation. Although the scope of the paper is limited to geometric contacts involving points, lines, planar surfaces, cylindrical surfaces, and spherical surfaces, the techniques developed are general and can be applied to other geometric features and non-tactile sensing elements used in robotic calibration and part referencing.

The crystal and molecular structures of the title triorganotin dithiocarbamate, [Sn(C6H5)3(C7H14NS2)], are described. The molecular geometry about the metal atom is highly distorted being based on a C3S tetrahedron as the dithiocarbamate ligand is asymmetrically chelating to the tin centre. The close approach of the second thione-S atom [Sn...S = 2.9264 (4) Å] is largely responsible for the distortion. The molecular packing is almost devoid of directional interactions with only weak phenyl-C—H...C(phenyl) interactions, leading to centrosymmetric dimeric aggregates, being noted. An analysis of the calculated Hirshfeld surface points to the significance of H...H contacts, which contribute 66.6% of all contacts to the surface, with C...H/H...C [26.8%] and S...H/H...H [6.6%] contacts making up the balance.

Resumen
Stresses in flex spline/gear cup in harmonic drives with involute toothed gear pair and conventional strain wave generating cam are analyzed using finite element method in ANSYS® environment and experiments. The most innovative part of this investigation is establishing the evidence of secondary contacts and probable load shared by those contacts experimentally over the finite element analysis. Aiming at the performance improvement of gearing in harmonic drives, with involute toothed gear pair, the investigations are carried out through the following analyses. (a) Initial stresses in flex gear cup due to cam insertion only. (b) Stresses in flex gear cup at no load in fully assembled harmonic drive components i.e. flex gear, ring gear, and strain wave generating cam. (c) Stresses in flex gear cup at full load passing through the two pitch points, i.e. the intersection points of ring gear pitch circle, flex gear pitch curve, and major axis on both sides. Finally, (d) stresses in flex gear cup at full load distributed over all possible primary and secondary contacts, in proportion to their contact intensities. Recorded strains of the flex-gear cup while the cam being rotated showed very good agreement with the results obtained by finite element analysis with proper modeling of loading.

Resumen
For a class of rational triangular maps of a plane, characterized by the presence of points in which a component assumes the form [Formula: see text], a new type of bifurcation is evidenced which creates loops in the boundaries of the basins of attraction. In order to explain such bifurcation mechanism, new concepts of focal point and line of focal values are defined, and their effects on the geometric behavior of the map and of its inverses are studied in detail. We prove that the creation of loops, which generally constitute the boundaries of lobes of the basins issuing from the focal points, is determined by contacts between basin boundaries and the line of focal values. A particular map is proposed for which the sequence of such contact bifurcations occurs, causing a fractalization of basin boundaries. Through the analytical and the numerical study of this example new structures of the basins of attraction are evidenced, characterized by fans of stable sets issuing from the focal points, assuming the shape of lobes and arcs, the latter created by the merging of lobes due to contacts between the basin boundaries and the critical curve LC.

Resumen
Scientists have accumulated considerable experience in the study of the concept of “linguistic contacts”. Multidimensionality and multifunctionality of this phenomenon, its research in various fields of scientific knowledge determine the existence of various interpretations of this concept, each of which reflects its different points. The analysis of scientific works by Chinese, Russian, Western scientists in which the understanding of the concept of “linguistic contacts” is presented, made it possible to identify the following aspects in the interpretation of this concept: an emphasis on linguistic interaction and interaction in the process of linguistic contact; definition of linguistic contacts as an interaction between languages as a result of the interaction of communities speaking these languages; the study of linguistic contacts in the aspect of the existing variety of linguistic phenomena caused by the contact of languages. The paper defines the essential characteristics of the pidgin, identifies the factors of occurrence and features of the Russian-Chinese pidgin. Based on the analysis of scientific approaches to the study of pidgin, the reasons for their appearance, conditions of functioning, it was concluded that the main factor in the emergence of the Russian-Chinese pidgin was border trade, which occupied a special place in relations between Russia and China. The research materials can be applied in studying the features of language contacts, the interaction between Russia and China. Resumen
Topographies of engineering surfaces normally have both random and periodic components, designated as surface roughness and waviness. True contacts between two such surfaces develop between the peaks, or asperities, on each surface. The waviness of the surfaces determines the spatial distribution of true contacts over the interface such that true contacts on wavy surfaces occur at and near the wave crests. This paper presents a computational method for analysis of contact between two rough wavy surfaces for which the nominal contact area may be arbitrarily large. The model used here combines local deflection of a contact point due only to the force acting on it with the non-local deflection of the same point due to forces at all other points of the surfaces. Using a three-stage loop similar to multi-level substructuring in finite element analysis and a nested iterative approach, the proposed method calculates the true contact area for a large number of asperity contacts, O103. Results of calculations show how contact parameters change with external load and also demonstrate the validity of the method.

Resumen
Summary The subject of this article is the interaction between the military and civilian communities in the Dutch Limes zone. Central questions are what influence the Roman army had on the civilian population, how the contacts between both groups were shaped, and how the individual soldiers interacted with civilians. The influence of the army was most prominent at the forts, but was also present outside the areas where the military was stationed. Civilians enlisted in the army, creating intermediaries. The Roman cities also functioned as transition points between the army and the civilian population, but they may have had other, more primary military functions as well. Contacts between the two groups were generally peaceful and provided benefits for both. As military and civilian communities became increasingly intertwined, it is likely that individual contacts between the two also contributed to this process.

Resumen
In order to enhance the wear resistance of copper contacts in high-voltage switches and improve the abnormal discharge phenomenon caused by wear gaps, laser remelting technology was used to strengthen the surface of copper contacts. The surface morphology, microhardness, and wear resistance of the remelted samples were tested and characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), microhardness tester, and friction and wear tester. The test results indicate that laser frequency, pulse width, and energy density parameters can directly affect the surface morphology and wear resistance of the sample, but their influencing processes vary. The laser frequency is achieved by the variation in the superposition relationship between the impact points, while the pulse width and energy density are achieved by the variation in the laser intensity at the impact points. When the pulse frequency is 10 Hz, the pulse width is 10 ms, and the energy density is 132.69 J/mm2, the sample exhibits a more balanced surface morphology, microhardness, and wear resistance.

Resumen
The contact between aggregates is an important feature of asphalt mixture skeleton. By comparing skeleton-dense and suspended-dense structure asphalt mixture test results, this paper studied the distribution characteristics of coarse aggregate contacts by using two-dimension digital image processing technique. The results indicate that skeleton-dense asphalt mixture has more homogeneous distribution of contact points, and a relatively stable skeleton structure than suspended-dense mixture. In two-dimension image, homogeneous distribution of contact points and little unrestrained coarse aggregates are two evident characteristics of asphalt mixture with good rutting resistance. The rutting resistance of asphalt mixture has no correlation with contact points, but is related to the spatial distribution of the contact points.

Resumen
This article discusses two very different points of views of the behaviour of plastically deformed asperity contacts with friction loading. A fundamental mechanics study is carried out using the concept of contact hydrostatic pressure. The study reveals various features of the two view-points. Some literature results are subsequently analysed. The analysis suggests that the friction force may significantly reduce the contact hydrostatic pressure thereby reducing asperity load capacity along with other consequences in the tribo-systems. This article may increase the understanding of the behaviour of asperity microcontacts and may be useful for future modelling of frictional contact of rough surfaces.

The aim of this study was to determine whether or not the analysis of maximal intercuspation, protrusive and laterotrusive movements requires an additional digital method of occlusal diagnosis using the T-Scan™ Novus™ device (TekScan). In this observational study, we retrospectively examined a number of 10 subjects which were divided into 2 groups: the 1st group involved patients with intact dental arches and the 2nd group with patients that had received implant-supported restorations. The methods of analysis involved the calibrated articulating paper of 200 and 40 micrometers, and also the T-Scan™ Novus™ device (TekScan). The following data were collected: contact points in maximum intercuspation (functional and premature contacts), the pairs of teeth performing protrusion and right/left laterotrusion, active/passive interferences and premature contacts during protrusion and right/left laterotrusion. Descriptive statistics were obtained using the MedCalc Statistical Software version 19.2.6 (MedCalc Soft-ware bv, Ostend, Belgium) and Microsoft Excel for MAC 2011. It was tested if a statistically significant difference existed between the diagnostic methods regarding the number of contact points. The T test for independent samples without the assumption of equal variances and the Mann-Whitney test was used (to which we reported the medians of the 2 subgroups and the P value adjusted for equalities) and also the magnitude of association using the Chi-square test (p value) was measured. Also it was studied the correlation between the number of premature contacts and the number of contact points, respectively, obtained by each diagnostic method, and we expressed the results through the Spearman correlation coefficient. The analysis of the maximum intercuspation, of the protrusive and the laterotrusive movements has shown comparable results using the two examination methods. There were no statistically significant differences between the two methods of analyzing dental occlusion.

Resumen
The planetary indexing cam mechanism is a type of indexing cam mechanism that employs planetary transmission structure. The mechanism is unusual compared to other planar cam mechanisms for the self-intersection occurs inevitably on the pitch curve of the cam. This results in the loss of contacts between a few rollers and cam profile. This paper investigates the effects of such loss of contacts on the transmission by analyzing the meshing procedure of the mechanism. The number of the self-intersection points on the pitch curve is determined in terms of the rotary index of the continuous curve. The meshing procedure is analyzed in detail and the pressure angles are calculated. The effects of the design parameters on the meshing status are studied and illustrated. At the end, it is pointed out that loss of contacts will not hamper the rightness of motion transfer in the mechanism if the design parameters are well selected.

Resumen
Chronically ill and healthy persons are compared as to social roles, dominant concerns, and in coping with stress. The comparison is based on a longitudinal analysis of data which was collected in the Bonn Longitudinal Study of Aging (BOLSA). The empirical analysis indicates that both groups show great success in mastering life situations and in coping with challenges and restrictions. This competence persists over the eight measurement points. The empirical analysis also makes clear that chronically ill patients often cope actively with stress, that they are able to accept restrictions and to look simultaneously for new possibilities in life. Social contacts have a predominant position in coping with chronic disease. Intrafamilial and extrafamilial contacts are important and helpful for chronically ill patients. As the longitudinal analysis reveals, coping with challenges and demands of life is influenced by the individual life-style. The analysis points to the aging process as a process of growth and of new potentials. This applies not only to persons who are in good health, but to chronically ill persons as well.

Resumen
SUMMARYThe use of shared common water points (WPs) and grazing points (GPs) at two different levels of administrative aggregation (village and kebelle) in a region of the Highlands of Ethiopia was explored by means of a questionnaire survey and social network analysis. Despite GPs being more abundant than WPs (208 and 154, respectively), individual GPs provide more contact opportunities for animals. There was great variability in the contact structure of the selected villages within kebelles for both networks, with this variability being higher in the GP networks for each kebelle. Contrary to the commonly held view that WPs are critical for the potential transmission of infectious diseases, intervention at GPs in the Ethiopian Highlands may have greater impact on contacts and thereby opportunities for transmission of infectious diseases between flocks. Some villages appear naturally at much lower risk of introducing disease. These findings could help the design of surveillance and control activities for directly transmitted infectious diseases.

Blackground: under physiological conditions, teeth are stabilized in the dental arch by making occlusal contacts with opposing teeth and proximal contacts with adjacent teeth. A weak or slightly open proximal tooth contact would permit food impaction, one of the etiology of periodontal disease. The common therapy is to make a permanent restoration using composite restoratioan having regard to proximal contacts, occlusal contour, and facial and lingual contaour to protect periodontal tissues. Objective: to show that it is important to restore contacts points in maintaining periodontal tissues using composite restoration. Case: on the first case, we found caries on the distal site of 2.4 and 3.5 and mesial site of 2.8 on the second case, and open contacts, resulting a periodontal pocket. Therapy: the initial treatment are scaling and root planning and curretage. Composite restoration to restore proximal contact points using matrix band and wedge. Maladaptation of either the matrix band or the wedge result in clinical failure such as overhanging margins, faulty contouring of the proximal wall and inadequate contact points. To select a correct wedge, four variables should lie considered the convergence angle of the base, the mesiodistal width of the base, the gingivo-occlusal height of the transverse section and the concavity of the side walls. Conclusion: Clinically, there are reduction in pocket depth after the restoration, but radiograpgically, there are no significant result in three months.

Resumen
A new numerical method for the analysis of elastic and elastic-plastic contacts of two rough surfaces has been developed. The method is based on a variational principle in which the real area of contact and contact pressure distribution are those which minimize the total complementary potential energy. The present variational approach guarantees the uniqueness of the solution of the contact problem and significantly reduces the computation time as compared with the conventional matrix inversion method, and thus, makes it feasible to solve 3-D contact problem with large number of contact points. The model is extended to elastic-perfectly plastic contacts. The model is used to predict contact statistics for computer generated surfaces.

Background: As a result of multiple recommendations from the Danish Health Authority during 2005-2006, the structure of emergency care was reconfigured, including a reduction in the number of entry points in the form of EDs. The reconfiguration process was set to start in 2007, with a goal of completion within 5-10 years. The aim of this study is to shed light on the effect of partial closure of an ED on the utilization of EDs. Methods: Our population-based historic cohort study was based on data from Statistics Denmark and from Danish health registries, including the Danish Civil Registration System and the Danish National Patient Registry. We included all non-psychiatric ED contacts in citizens of Vejle municipal in the period 2014 to 2015 as Vejle ED on 5 January 2015 ceased its intake of acute orthopedic injuries between 10 pm and 7 am. As of 2015, Vejle municipality had 111,138 citizens. Contacts were excluded if patients where below 18 years old. For each contact emergency department utilized, residential municipal, and date of contact was extracted. Difference-in-difference (DID) estimation based on linear regression was employed, the dependent variable being aggregated daily ED contacts. The control group was defined as contacts between 7 am and 11 pm, and the cases being contacts between 11 pm and 7 am.Results: The study included a total of 39,659 contacts. Out of these 34,901 where between 7 am and 11 pm, and 4,758 where between 11 pm and 7 am. In days before 5 January 2015 there was on average 7.33 contacts between 11pm and 7am, in days after the average was 5.75 contacts, resulting in a 21.6% drop. The DID analysis’ comparison of contacts before and after 5 January 2015 resulted in a coefficient of -2.07, p<0.01, 95%CI [-3.44, -0.70]. Conclusion: In conclusion, the negative DID coefficient found shows a drop of 2 contacts per day between 11pm and 7am. This drop in utilization of EDs could indicate an inequality in accessibility to healthcare. This begs the question; which citizens does not utilize the EDs after reconfiguration, and what conquests this brings?

Resumen
Abstract Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes a range of illness severity. Mild illness has been reported, but whether illness severity correlates with infectivity is unknown. We describe the public health investigation of a mildly ill, nonhospitalized COVID-19 case who traveled to China. Methods The case was a Maricopa County resident with multiple severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)–positive specimens collected on 22 January 2020. Contacts were persons exposed to the case on or after the day before case diagnostic specimen collection. Contacts were monitored for 14 days after last known exposure. High-risk contacts had close, prolonged case contact (≥ 10 minutes within 2 m). Medium-risk contacts wore all US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention–recommended personal protective equipment during interactions. Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal (NP/OP) specimens were collected from the case and high-risk contacts and tested for SARS-CoV-2. Results Paired case NP/OP specimens were collected for SARS-CoV-2 testing at 11 time points. In 8 pairs (73%), ≥ 1 specimen tested positive or indeterminate, and in 3 pairs (27%) both tested negative. Specimens collected 18 days after diagnosis tested positive. Sixteen contacts were identified; 11 (69%) had high-risk exposure, including 1 intimate contact, and 5 (31%) had medium-risk exposure. In total, 35 high-risk contact NP/OP specimens were collected for SARS-CoV-2 testing; all 35 pairs (100%) tested negative. Conclusions This report demonstrates that SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause mild illness and result in positive tests for up to 18 days after diagnosis, without evidence of transmission to close contacts. These data might inform public health strategies to manage individuals with asymptomatic infection or mild illness.
