Resumen
Poetry is a form of literary work that is very well known and appreciated throughout the world. Famous poetry works are often able to describe the emotions, experiences, and lives of the poets in a very beautiful and poetic way. One of the famous poets whose works are highly adored is Sylvia Plath. Sylvia Plath is known as one of the most talented poets of the 20th century, who managed to capture strong emotional nuances and life experiences in her poems. This research aims to analyze and interpret the meaning of connotation in two of Sylvia Plath's poems, namely "Daddy" and "Tulips". These poems were chosen because they both have different themes and styles, but they both describe the poet's personal feelings and experiences. In this study, qualitative methods were used to collect data from text analysis and interpretation of the connotative meanings contained in the poems. The results of the study show that "Daddy" and "Tulips" have complex meanings and contain many symbols that describe the poet's experiences and emotions. The poem "Daddy" describes Sylvia Plath's feelings of hatred and anger towards her deceased father, while "Tulips" describes the poet's desire to escape feelings of depression and loneliness. Resumen
Generally, Idiomatic expressions are characterized by great importance in creative texts and poetic texts in particular, because they have special connotations that express the extent of the poet's creative ability since the poets embody the content of their poems implicitly within the texts, in an attempt to increase the artistic taste of the reader. This study is entitled “The Reflection of the Idiom in the Poetic Language by the poet Wali Diwana”. We took the poems of the aforementioned poet as a sample for the poets of his time. In those days, the poets of southern Kurdistan, in general, implicitly expressed the living style and social conditions in their poems. The idiomatic expressions of all kinds were embodied in the poems of the above-mentioned poet, in a special style and technique, and this was reflected in the contents of his poems. The importance of this study turns out to be an applied study, and on the other hand, it opens the way for other researchers in the literary and linguistic fields to raise this issue in their studies.

Resumen
Romanticism is an important branch of the literary genre, and imagination is an important feature of it. From different historical backgrounds, Both British poets and Chinese have each profound insight into the imagination in their romantic poetry creations. Samuel Taylor Coleridge, as a pioneer of English Romantic poetry, his dream fragment Kublai Khan established an unshakable position in the poet's literary circle, while Li Bai was a well-known romantic poet in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. His representative work, Mount Skyland ascended in a Dream-A Song of Farewell, shocked the entire Chinese poetry circle as soon as it came out. This essay analyzes the poets' poetic thoughts on imagination by studying the different backgrounds of the two poets, the cultural traditions they contacted, and the philosophical thoughts they infected and meanwhile compares and analyzes the image characteristics of the two poets' representative works to explore the concrete expression of the poet's imagination in the poems. It is found that there are similarities and differences spatially and emotionally in terms of imagery. Moreover, the imagination in romantic poetry not only creates a series of illusory images and casts a phantom veil on the whole poem but also insinuates the poet's poetic thought and inner emotional appeal.

Resumen
As in every work of art, meaning and expression in Divan poetry are among the basic tools that determine the poet's style and artistry. In Divan poetry, which produces products based on tradition, poets shape and express their feelings and thoughts through poetry, while they differ from other poets with their stylistic features. Poets process the common content from different aspects thanks to their expressive ability. In this way, poets with style have always been one step ahead of other poets. One of the poets who has a unique style and is known for this style is Nedîm, one of the leading poets of the 18th century, who is remembered for his time. Poet Nedim has worked by adapting the content and expression features of Classical poetry to his own artistic creation and Nedimâne has become the creator of the style. A better understanding of this style depends on recognizing the content and expressions of Nedim's poems. Genre, style, and expression techniques, which have an important place in the establishment of literary texts, are the elements that mediate the understanding of the depth of meaning of literary texts and the determination of the stylistic features of poets. From this point of view, in the present study, Nedim’s Divan has been scanned from beginning to end, literary genres, literary styles, and expression techniques used in the work have been determined and the determined elements have been given together with sample texts, and the meaning and imaginary world that shaped Nedim’s style has been tried to be revealed.

KİRAZ, Alaaddin. "The Criteria for the Concept of Fuḥūla According to al-Aṣmaʿī and Ibn Sallām al-Jumahî: A Comparative Study". Journal of The Near East University Islamic Research Center 10, № 2 (31 грудня 2024): 910–30. https://doi.org/10.32955/neu.istem.2024.10.2.20.

Resumen
This article is a comparative study of the criteria for fuḥūla in Arabic poetry as put forward by al-Aṣmaʿī (d. 216/831) and Ibn Sallām al-Jumahî (d. 231/845). Al-Aṣmaʿī and Ibn Sallām are two of the most important critics of Arabic literature. The concept of fuḥūla is considered one of the main pillars of ancient poetry criticism and was a measure to deter-mine the poet's power, creativity and ability to innovate. The term originated in al-Aṣmaʿī's “Ṭabaqāt al-fuḥūla al-Shuʿarā” and then appeared in Ibn Sallām's “Ṭabaqāt al-Shuʿarā”, where it developed sig-nificantly into a unified theory. This study focuses on the differences and similarities between these two critics' principles of evaluating poets and tries to identify the qualities that a poet must possess in order to be a Fahl (master poet). The study begins by presenting the concept of fuḥūla/master poet according to al-Aṣmaʿī. Al-Aṣmaʿī believes that Fuhūla is related to the quality of words and mastery over language. He argues that the poet must have the ability to use powerful and impressive words. Al-Aṣmaʿī emphasizes linguistic skill and knowledge of ancient poetry as the main criteria for evaluating the poet who is Fahl. Ibn Sallām, on the other hand, takes a broader view of the concept of fuḥūla and focuses on the social and historical background. According to him, a Fahl is a person who sincerely and realistically articulates the problems of his age. He categorized poets into successive classes according to their poetic competence. This study aims to examine the commonalities and differences between these two critics and to analyze the critical meanings these differences contain. This article examines the fixed approach of al-Aṣmaʿī in evaluating fuḥūla, where he classifies poets into two categories: fuḥul and non-fuḥul. His comments are characterized by brevity, reflected in the concise nature of his work, which does not exceed fifty pages. al-Aṣmaʿī used the large number of poems and the length of the poems as a criterion for a poet to be considered a faḥl, and he preferred the poets of the Jahiliyyah period to others because they reflected the simplicity of Bedouin life in their poems with strong expressions and clear language. Ibn Sallām, on the other hand, adopted a different approach. According to this approach, he accepted that all poets were faḥl and divided them into two classes: the Jahiliyyah period and the Islamic period. However, he did so in a general historical order, without a strict connection to chronology, by placing the four most famous poets in each class. In this way, he brought together poets from different periods, for which he received some criticism about his method. Ibn Sallām based his evaluation of the poets on the principle of similarity, drawing parallels between the poets of the Jahiliyyah period and the poets of the Islamic period according to common characteristics such as obscenity, fluency of poetry, power of language, and diversity of themes. This difference between al-Aṣmaʿī and Ibn Sallām's methods of examination and analysis reveals the diversity of critical approaches in ancient Arabic thought. While al-Aṣmaʿī approaches the concept of faḥl from a linguistic perspective focusing on the richness of language and the power of expressions, Ibn Sallām approaches it from the perspective of the poet's creativity and originality, the power of creativity and the ability to innovate.

Du, Plessis Jeanne Catherine. "Poetry portfolio : Things I’ll never say and Mini-dissertation : The fragmented self : female identity in personal poetry, with particular reference to selected poems by Anne Sexton, Antjie Krog and Finuala Dowling." Diss., University of Pretoria, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/2263/30351.

Resumen
This mini-dissertation examines selected poems by three female poets who deal with what I have termed ‘the personal’ in relation to specifically female concerns in their poetry, namely Anne Sexton, Antjie Krog and Finuala Dowling. There has been a considerable rise in personal and autobiographical writing in the last few decades, and this trend shows no sign of decreasing. This kind of writing has provoked much heated debate, both regarding its content and its style(s). Many critics and poets, such as Robert Lowell or James Dickey, disapprove of the frankness with which female poets discuss subjects which are specific to women, and consider the poems to be too graphic or crude. Personal poems which are not graphic are also criticised as being boring, irrelevant or lacking in artistic craft. Those in favour of poetry of the personal, such as Collette Inez and Alicia Ostriker, believe that contemporary poets’ freedom to examine any topic they like is a positive development. Instead of considering these poems to be irrelevant to readers, they believe that personal poetry can be a means for both writers and readers to explore identity and to navigate various female roles. This mini-dissertation argues in defence of personal poetry, and addresses the common criticisms of this type of writing briefly mentioned above. It highlights women’s issues and questions of female identity throughout. The different ways in which female writers approach personal poetry are also examined, and the mini-dissertation compares the controversial aspects of Sexton’s writing with Krog’s candour and Dowling’s understated humour. Through close textual analysis, the mini-dissertation highlights both similarities and differences in the work of these poets, in support of the value of such poetry for both readers and writers. The mini-dissertation is accompanied by a portfolio of my own creative work. My poems also fit into the category of female poetry of the personal, so while I do not directly discuss my own work in the mini-dissertation, the portfolio and mini-dissertation are thematically linked.
Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2010.
English
unrestricted

Resumen
The paper is devoted to the problem of imitation of maps in the late Renaissance Polish poetry (between 1580 and 1630). The author first discusses the special interest in cartography that existed among the Polish elite and poets of the period. The main thesis of the paper is that poets widely used map-based techniques in constructing their poems. Imitation (imitatio) played a crucial role in this process. To illustrate this concept, the author analyses the work of five poets: S.F. Klonowic, K. Miaskowski, S. Petrycy, M.K. Sarbiewski and Sz. Szymonowic. Looking at the shared topoi used in poems and maps and investigating how the late Renaissance poets described the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, allows the author to draw a similarity between controlling space in poetry and maps. This suggests the idea of ruling over space might be related to the 16th-century idea of a God-like poet.

Resumen
In this chapter, the focus is on oral poets and their diverse roles within different cultures and societies. The chapter begins by addressing the broad question of who the poets are, explaining that virtually anyone can assume this role depending on the social context. While oral poets can be found in various forms—from official court poets in medieval kingdoms to unpaid singers among labourers—there are recurring patterns that shape their societal roles. These poets are often bound by social conventions and are influenced by the economic and political institutions of their societies, indicating that the position of oral poets is not entirely random. This chapter further explores these positions through case studies of five distinct poets from various cultures: Velema Daubitu, a seer and poet in Fiji; Avdo Mededović, a Yugoslav epic minstrel; Johnnie B. Smith, a black American prisoner and song leader; Orpingalik, an Inuit poet and shaman; and Almeda ‘Granny’ Riddle, an American folksinger. These studies illustrate the variety of oral poets, from those who consider themselves mere conduits for ancestral voices to those who use personal experiences and social circumstances to compose their works. While each poet navigates different societal expectations and roles, their artistry is shaped by both their individual creativity and the cultural frameworks in which they operate. This reveals the complex interplay between personal expression and the collective, traditional structures that support oral poetry.

Resumen
Abstract ‘Expert Poets’ discusses the poets Homer and Hesiod. These epic poets helped shape intellectual agendas and were revered for their ideas on many topics, including astronomy and meteorology. The chapter describes the poems ascribed to Homer and Hesiod, which were the focus of commentaries by various later ancient authors. The Homeric Iliad is concerned with the Trojan War, while the Odyssey recounts the travels of Odysseus, one of the heroes of the Iliad. Even though the natural world was not the focus, the poet does provide a sense of how some phenomena, as well as health and disease, were understood. Hesiod’s Theogony describes the world and its coming-to-be. The large number of references to these poems by later ancient Greek and Roman authors—even in prose works on specialized, technical subjects—indicates that the epic poets had great intellectual impact, even on topics for which we would not normally expect poets to be experts.

Resumen
The article deals with the translations of Sergey Esenin’s works into Georgian. Georgian poets-translators have repeatedly turned to the work of the poet since the 20s of the 20th century. Esenin’s work has always been of great interest not only to Georgian poets-translators but also to Georgian readers. Translation activity began in Georgia in 1924 by Konstantin Chichinadze from the translation of the poem “Comrade.” It began to be actively continued by Mikheil Pataridze. In 1926 a collection of Esenin’s poems was published as a separate book, which combined 15 poems by the poet, in 1927 — a separate edition of the poem “Anna Snegina” (in translation by Grigola Tsetskhladze). By the end of 1956, the translation of the poem was published in two periodicals at once (“Mnatobi,” “Talga”). Both versions were made by the Georgian poet and translator Giorgi Salukvadze. Fortunately, another edition of the poem “Anna Snegina” was found in the collection of poems and poems, dated 1969 (Batumi “Sabchota Adjara”). All works are translated by Giorgi Salukvadze. In 1981 translations of Esenin’s poems were published in the literary and social magazine “Chorokhi.” In 1984 a collection of the poet’s poems was published in Batumi (Batumi “Sabchota Adjara”). The translator of both editions is Salukvadze.

Resumen
This chapter evaluates two renowned poets: one, Archilochus, who lived in the early Archaic age of Greece, and the other, Pindar, who lived at its close and on into the time we call Classical. Their audiences and their modes of performance may have differed, but the two poets spoke the same essential language, and that language included nonverbal communication. Some fragments of Archilochus's poems preserve evocative words or phrases whose articulation seems to need an attendant gesture. In creating a character who expressed himself vividly, Archilochus can hardly have failed to use his head and hands to accentuate words or pictures as he recited his poems. If there is a question as to who exactly performed the odes that Pindar composed, whether it was the poet himself or a chorus-leader or selected members of a chorus, the sort of gesture that was needed to make sense of two “incomplete” conditional sentences was easy to do.

Resumen
The present contribution discusses the changing position of the personality and work of Jiří Wolker (1900–1924) in his time and in the course of hundred years since his death, also in the context of other prominent Czech poets of the 20th century. It is not a big discovery that his personality and his poetic and other works have always been the object of envy, hatred and ostracism, passionate disputes that are still surprising today with their sharpness and even brutality on the one hand, but also one-sided adoration on the other. These controversies – as is almost always the case – testify more to polemics and criticisms than to the poet himself, whose work, even if limited to an extremely short period of time, as is the case with genius creators, belongs to the top of not only Czech, but also European and world literary creativity. The article tries to present the different positions of Wolker's assessment and the originality of his poetics, which consists in the intermingling and permeation of poetological features of various literary currents and in the strong position of the Neoclassicism of the 20th century, and at the same time draws attention to "eternal" thematic and poetic values. Even though the poet had a clearly formulated political opinion, and in this sense developed an activity responding to specific conditions of his time, i.e. mainly the late 10s and 1920s of the 20th century, with his transcendences he grasps the fate of man and the world in the timeless dimensions of justice and dignity.

Resumen
The censorship of Azerbaijani literature during the Soviet period also limited the study of Azerbaijani- Ottoman literary relations. For this reason, the biographies and art of Azerbaijani poets who lived in the Ottoman Empire during the 15th-19th centuries, the literature of migration, and Azerbaijani-Ottoman literary interactions have been understudied. Written sources, especially Ottoman biographies, anthologies, and poetry collections, play a vital role in studying these relations and the place of Azerbaijani poets in the Ottoman literary environment. This study examines the parallels (nazira) that Shah Ismail Khatai drew with the poems of Ottoman poets and the reactions of Ottoman poets to his poems, based on Ottoman biographies (tazkira) and poetry collections (majmua). Two Ottoman nazira collections (Majmua-i Nezair and Pervane Bey’s Majmua) are important sources for studying the literary connections of Azerbaijani poets with Ottoman poets. These works include parallels that Shah Ismail Khatai wrote with the poems of poets such as Ahmed Pasha, Jem Sultan and Nizami, as well as responses by Ottoman poets to Khatai’s poems. The parallels drawn by Ottoman poets with Khatai’s poems reveal the place that Azerbaijani poets occupied in the Ottoman literary environment. Despite the political tensions between the Safavids and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, literary relations seem to have continued. The parallels that Shah Ismail Khatai drew with the poems of Ottoman poets and the responses that Ottoman poets wrote to his poems prove that literary relations in this context have a feature that goes beyond borders. The aim of this study is to uncover the interaction between Ottoman and Azerbaijani literatures by assessing the literary links between the two cultures in the light of naziras and poetry collections.

Resumen
The article is devoted to the problem of continuity of Parnassianism in the oeuvre of poets of the first wave of emigration and it is based on material of an analysis of three poems by V. Khodasevich, G. Ivanov and Yu. Terapiano. The poetic controversy between Khodasevich and G. Ivanov in the early 1920s revolved around different views on the role of the poet in difficult historical times, as well as around the dispute about where art comes from, from above or from the soul of the poet. Ideas close to the views of G. Ivanov stemmed from the views of his teacher N. Gumilev, expressed in his article about Theophile Gautier. Already in the 1930s, the same ideas resonated in the work of Yu. Terapiano. He creates a cycle of poems “French Poets”. The Parnassian poet Leconte de Lisle in his poem subordinates the feelings and the world around him in difficult times when “there is no support”.

Within the Turkish state tradition, the majority of Turkish Khans are also poets. It is known that some of them even had a divan or had enough poems to form a divan. These khans, as well as being poets themselves, gathered artists around them during their time, protected them and rewarded them in various ways for the poems they wrote. Babur is one of the important Turkish khans who bears this title. The ruler who owns a divan is one of the poets. In his memoirs (Vekayi/Babürname), he mentioned the names of some poets around him or in the places he was in and shared his thoughts about them, their poems and their poetry. Especially Ali Şir Nevayî has an important place in his artistic life.

Resumen
One of the most interesting and reliable sources for the study of the Safavid period of Azerbaijani literature is the work “Tazkere-ye Nasrabadi”, written by Muhammad Tahir Nasrabadi. There are many handwritten copies of this work in the world’s book treasures. “Tazkere” was published in Tehran in 1378 year of Hijra in two volumes by Mohsen Naji Nasrabadi. The work is a source that provides detailed information about the social, political and cultural life of its time. When writing this work, Muhammad Tahir Nasrabadi came into direct contact with contemporary poets, about whom he wanted to give information in his work, asked them for samples of poems, carefully read the Divans compiled by them, and additionally used other sources and collections. “Tazkere” consists of an introduction, a conclusion (Hateme) and 5 chapters called Saf. At the beginning of the work, the “pen holders” — rulers and princes — are represented. The first chapter provides information about officials close to the shahs, as well as information about the emirs and khans. This chapter presents poets living in both Iran and India. The second chapter presents the Seyyid poets who considered themselves descendants of the prophet. The third chapter is devoted to scientists and virtuous personalities. This section also presents dervishes, famous for their poems. The fourth chapter introduces professional poets. The first part of this chapter, consisting of three parts, presents the poets of Iraq and Khorasan. The second part presents the poets of Central Asia, and the third part — the poets who lived and worked in India. The author devoted the fifth chapter to the compositions of his close relatives, as well as own works. The final part presents historical dates — chronograms, as well as riddles in verse form. The first half of the chronograms are texts of authors whose names were well-known to Nasrabadi, the other half of the chronograms are presented as “texts of unknown authors”. In general, this work contains information about more than a thousand poets, many of whom lived and worked in the geographical space of Azerbaijan.

Resumen
The 1930s is one of the most tragic pages in the history of Georgian literature. As a result of Bolshevik rule, Georgian poets had to give up the search for versification and artistic-stylistic forms and, instead of developing modernist trends they almost wholly confined themselves to proletarian themes. Georgian verse, highly enriched in the 1910s-1920, nearly stopped evolving a decade later. The poets who failed to fit into a common pattern and tried to preserve their individuality were declared the "enemies of the people". They were faced with the choice of either to write Bolshevik poems or to be physically destroyed. The poetry was focused on the theme of revolution and building of communism. Proletarian literature rejected patriotism and replaced it with internationalism. Despite the threat of physical destruction, some Georgian poets still managed to adhere to the main path of the development of ancient Georgian poetry in the 1920s and 30s. Along with the older generation, a new generation of poets (Lado Asatiani, Mirza Gelovani, Aleksandre Sajaia, Giorgi Napetvaridze, etc.) appeared on the scene in the early 1930s. These poets were able to revive the forms of national versification under the guise of Soviet internationalism. They adapted the traditional long– meter (20– and 16-syllable) textual structure to the verses on patriotic theme. The genre of ballad which occupies a worthy place in the works of the poets of "Our Generation" was also revived. Young authors turned poetic folklore into a source of creativity, and literary verse again came in close contact with folk poetry. This is especially important because these poets managed to breathe new life into the traditional Georgian verse forms at a time when the Bolshevik regime was fighting against "formalism."

Resumen
The research, entitled "The Day of Uhud in the Poetry of Abdullah ibn al-Zubaira and Hassan ibn Thabit al-Ansari," aims to identify a number of poetic texts that the two poets wrote following the Battle of Uhud, which took place between the Quraysh polytheists and the early Muslims who supported the Prophet (peace be upon him). The research will reveal the artistic images used by the two poets, whether in the field of lamentation or in the field of satire. Ibn al-Zubaira was one of the poets of Mecca who defended the Quraysh polytheists and mourned their fallen fighters in the invasions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Prior to his encounter with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he sought repentance and offered an apology for his actions during the period of his opposition to the Islamic call. Hassan bin Thabit al-Ansari, on the other hand, was a political poet and defender of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who played a pivotal role in safeguarding the foundations of Islam. The two poets engaged in a poetic discourse that this research aims to elucidate. This research project aims to examine a range of poetic texts that emerged in the aftermath of this seminal battle. It endeavors to elucidate the images, meanings, and linguistic devices employed by the two poets. Methodology: The research will employ a technical methodology to analyze the poetic texts, with a particular focus on identifying and examining the verbs of speech used by the two poets

Resumen
In this paper, we examine an innovative postal export regime that involvesboth a streamlining of export procedures and provision of intermediation services to investigate how firms' react to changing trade costs and whether and how these firms learn. In so doing, we use a unique dataset that consists of the entire universe of Peru's export transactions over the period 1999-2014 including both regular shipments and postal shipments. We find that the new export mode has been associated with increased and more diversified regional exports, higher entry and exit rates, more export experimentation, and learning both within and across firms.
