Resumen
Television has been a household fixture in Philippine homes for over 50 years. While the medium’s contributions to education and information delivery are undeniable, concern regarding its negative effects on audiences, particularly on children, has been recurring theme of media research. This study on the connection between children’s exposure to animated programs and resulting play behaviors considers family as a complementary influence. It focuses on a particular sub-group which has been quite understudied, i.e. Filipino pre-school children. Results reveal that television viewing influences play behaviors, and that parental interventions are crucial in honing the children’s ability to distinguish between bad and good, especially when play behaviors are concerned. Recommendations for parental and school interventions conclude the article.

Resumen
The first case of coronavirus infection was recorded in 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The virus is easily transmitted by droplets, which soon leads to a pandemic. The first case in our country was recorded in March 2020. The aim of this paper is to describe the implementation of the preventive program (health-educational work) in the Dental Service of the Valjevo Health Center, in the newly created and so far unknown circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. The health and educational work play a key role in prevention when it comes to the work of dentists with children of preschool, school, and high school age, as well as with pregnant women and mothers. Through Powerpoint presentations, in pictures and words, dentists tried to pass on their knowledge about the importance of proper nutrition and oral and dental hygiene to preschool patients. Through platforms designed for online teaching, students of all grades of primary schools in urban and rural areas, as well as high school students, are provided with all the important information related to the preservation and improvement of oral health. Through the School of Parenthood, and in cooperation with the Patronage Service of the Valjevo Health Center, educational work with pregnant women and mothers-in-law was conducted. The Week of Oral and Dental Health was marked by the guest appearance of the head of the service on local television, on the show "Serbia Today" and on the "Morning Program" of the Radio Television of Serbia. Thanks to the exceptional cooperation of the Dental Service with the management of the Valjevo Health Center, the Patronage Service, and their cooperation with the preschool, primary and secondary schools, the planned preventive program for 2020 was implemented. The program was supported by school principals, teaching organizers, and educators from the preschool institution, who highly rated our work. A comprehensive approach to the control of dental disease in children and adolescents is extremely important for laying a solid foundation for good oral health. Even in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to carry out health-educational work whose development is to develop healthy living habits and preserve oral health.

Resumen
This article aims to identify and analyze the factors that cause elementary school children's interest in football to increase. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. The data collection process is carried out through scientific journals, books, and research reports that focus on research. The search was conducted through academic databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and other online journal portals Using relevant keywords such as "popularity of elementary school football", "influence of media on elementary school children", "early childhood football coaching", and "social aspects of children's football". Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis showed that media influence, such as games aired on television or soccer content that went viral on social media platforms, gave elementary school children greater access to the sport. Coaching from an early age, both through school programs and local football clubs, provides opportunities for children to start learning and loving the sport from an early age. In addition, social aspects such as peer relationships and the experience of playing in a team can increase elementary school children's interest in football, as this sport not only provides an opportunity to play, but also strengthens the social bonds between them

Resumen
In December 1969, Governor John Bell Williams of Mississippi, one of the most notorious southern segregationists, proposed a $1 million program financed by the Mississippi state legislature to file school desegregation suits in northern states. “For fifteen years we have been on the defense,” Williams said. “Now we are going on the offense.” Williams's campaign was just one example of an odd but familiar trend that had emerged by 1970. Some of the most determined southern segregationists became enthusiastic supporters of northern school desegregation. In January 1970, the attorneys general in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida announced plans to intervene as friends of the court in a Pasadena, California, school desegregation case. In February 1970, the governor of Louisiana appealed to citizens of his state to fund a nationwide television campaign calling for equal treatment between northern and southern schools. Most important, that same month, U.S. Senator John C. Stennis of Mississippi carried the fight to the floor of the Senate. He introduced an amendment to a federal education bill that called for equal desegregation efforts in both the North and the South, regardless of whether the segregation resulted from state action or residential patterns. Stennis complained that the federal government was pursuing a regional desegregation plan. His ostensible goal was to bring about “one uniform policy” on school desegregation, “applicable nationwide.” But the real motivation, which almost every southern official conceded, was the hope that accelerated desegregation in the North would spark a broader, national backlash against school desegregation.

Resumen
Dengue fever (DF) is the most rapidly spreading mosquito-borne viral disease worldwide. Several confirmed dengue cases occurred in Jazan region in the last decade. Current study aims to assess the knowledge, attitudes and preventive practices of dengue fever among students of secondary schools in Jazan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional study was conducted among students of six secondary schools in Jazan. Multistage stratified random sample method was used and seven hundred forty two (742) were taken as respondents in study. We collected information on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents about their knowledge, attitude and practice towards DF using a prestructured and self administered questionnaire. findings illustrate a poor DF knowledge among the secondary school students in Jazan. As to attitudes towards DF prevention and control, the majority of the respondents were having good attitudes and believed that DF could be controlled and prevented (93.2%), DF control is the responsibility of government and community (83.1%) and they themselves have an important role to play in DF prevention (78.5%).The most common practice to prevent mosquito breeding were found to be the disposing of water from breeding containers (85.5%) and covering of water containers (68.6%). A significant association between the practice of DF preventive and control measures and the gender of the respondents was found (P<0.005).The top two common sources of DF knowledge were identified as primary health care centers and television (48.1% and 44.5%, respectively) Low prevalence of sufficient knowledge was evident among secondary school students in Jazan. Government authorities should strengthen its programs on massive educational campaigns to increase awareness and knowledge regarding dengue and preventive measures to reduce mosquito and prevent dengue. Knowledge of dengue epidemiology may be incorporated into the school curriculum.

Resumen
Background For too many youths, school has become a place for students to withstand and kill time until they can leave and learn about things that matter to them. Instead, schools should be inviting and exciting places to learn but also nurturing spaces where all students feel they belong. Drawing upon expanded definition of literacies that include play and making, this study examines how the maker literacies—media production where multimodal, digital, and artifact-based literacies converge—creates opportunities for youth to critically engage their favorite toys and media in school. While the preponderance of research on media literacy has focused on critical consumption of multimedia, research on play-based literacies has focused largely on early childhood (K–2) spaces. This article examines student engagement in the intersection of critical media production and play-based literacies for older youth, specifically play, toymaking, and filmmaking in classroom makerspaces. Purpose The goal of the ongoing Literacy Playshop studies is to explore the meaning-making and participation that youth experience through production-oriented maker literacies (e.g., toy(re)making, filmmaking) in P–12 settings. Maker literacies enable students to critically respond to pervasive stereotypes in popular media by producing their own films by “toyhacking” or remaking physical features of toys that also enable revised character identities and alternative storylines. The research within this article aimed to understand how preservice and in-service teachers approach play-based media production as a participatory literacy for students in classroom makerspaces. Research Design Using mediated discourse analysis, toy remaking and filmmaking is examined to unpack the tangles of meanings, bodies, and toys in the action texts and imaginary contexts of play. Researchers looked across three sites, including a third-grade classroom, a literacy methods course for preservice elementary teachers, and a methods course for secondary English/Language Arts preservice teachers, all of which implemented a curricular framework for play-based makerspaces. Using ethnographic methods, multimodal video analysis, and mediated discourse analysis, researchers compared critical media literacy strategies in these three sites. Data sources included: video data of students’ toyhacking, hacked toys, student-created films centering toys, researcher fieldnotes, written reflections of preservice teachers, and interviews with the in-service teacher. Findings Findings suggest student engagement was significantly increased through the collaborative digital film process, which often gave preservice and inservice teachers the chance to expand their conception of literacy. Teaching children and preservice teachers to engage in play-based literacies allowed participants to more actively participate in their own education, assisting them in creating their own media, responding critically, productively, and multimodally to a world filled with popular animated films, television, video games, and digital media texts. Conclusions Overall, findings align with calls to reconceptualize and update literacy curricula across K–12 and teacher education programs to center student meaning-making, agency, and critical response. More research is needed to understand the intersections of participatory literacies, mass media, critical literacy, and social justice.

Resumen
Growing concerns about the health of young people and physical activity can be observed recently. Indeed, children do not exercise enough, they tend to play computer games and watch television instead of playing outside. None of the state authority assumes responsibility for the establishment of proper conditions for students’ physical activity; too little attention is paid to the quality of physical education classes. Not all Lithuanian schools pay enough attention to the issues of health education. In some schools, students’ health is fostered only by the individual teachers initiative (Proškuvienė, 2004). What are the causes of such a situation? A health education process in schools would be conducted more efficiently if it was supported by more willingness and active participation of all the staff and students’ parents. Physical activity is one of the factors influencing people’s health. Movement is the body’s natural biological need, and ordinary human activity is hardly possible without it. Physical activity can be understood in quite a broad sense. It includes various exercises, participation in competitions, household work, leisure activity that requires physical effort, as well as physical work. In order to implement the students’ healthy lifestyle education and addiction prevention programs a teacher survey on healthy living issues and on the use of tobacco, alcohol and other psychoactive substances were conducted in the Vilnius Jons Basanavicius Gymnasium. The public health official (PHO) carried out the students’ state of health analysis in accordance with the provided medical evidence. The aim of the survey was to determine the teachers’ attitude to the students’ health education and to evaluate the students’ and teachers’ initiatives which promote physical activity and prevention of addictions. The prevailing method used in the survey was a questionnaire for the teachers which consisted of 10 open-ended questions. 62 questionnaires were handed out, and soon 42 of them were filled in. Thus, 67.74 percent of the teachers shared their knowledge of a healthy lifestyle. The results of the questionnaire survey conducted at Vilnius Jonas Basanavicius Gymnasium show that only 50 percent of the teachers believe that they play an important role in protecting and enhancing the students’ health. The majority of the teachers thinks that their knowledge about health is only satisfactory. According to the teachers’ subjective assessment, they mainly face the lack of knowledge about the issues of psychotropic substance abuse, sexual education, first aid matters, mental health and coping with stress. About 35.5 percent of the gymnasium teachers do not use the Universal Health Education Program or other health programs such as the preparation for the family life program, the smoking prevention program, the program of changes, and the program of self-confidence. There are many teachers who believe that the most important thing is to teach their particular subject, regardless of the anatomical and psychological characteristics of the students’ health and their real abilities; thus, indiscriminately increasing mental stress and leaving no time for physical activity and recreation. 2015/2016 year students’ health studies have shown that the most common health problems are optic (313 cases), bone and muscle (234 cases), circulatory and respiratory diseases (187 and 105 cases), an increase of disorders of the endocrine system has been noticed (65 cases), and nervous system disorders (26 cases) have also been quite common if compared to the statistics for the years 2014/2015. In order to adapt the students’ healthy lifestyle education and addiction prevention programs at our gymnasium we conducted a survey on tobacco, alcohol and other psychoactive substance use prevalence. The survey that was conducted with the help of the IQES system analysed the answers of 348 gymnasium students from the 1st-3rd form (51 percent of these respondents were boys and 49 percent were girls). All in all, 37 percent of these students were from the 1st form, 39 percent from the 2nd form, and 24 percent from the 3rd form. The survey found out that the most common bad habits observed in our gymnasium are smoking, as 317 respondents (91 percent) indicated; and alcohol consumption – that was admitted by 22 respondents (6 percent). 10 percent of the students named desire to relax as the main reason for smoking; 10 percent admitted being encouraged by their friends; 8 percent pointed out that this was a habit; while 3 percent started smoking out of curiosity. In order to reduce the spread of harmful habits, various prevention events, promotions, meetings and competitions are organized at our gymnasium. Besides, since this school year, the public health official (PHO) organizes the classes based on the issues of psychoactive substance prevention. A lot of events take place in February, since the campaign "February is a healthy month – 2016" is traditionally carried out at that time of the year. Programs of health promotion, physical activity and addiction prevention applied in schools will help shape students' psychological - social competence, their life and health skills; encourage healthy living and safe choices. Key words: physical activity, promoting factors, healthy lifestyle, addiction prevention.

Background: This study was done with the objective of finding the average daily duration and pattern of screen time use in children in the age group of 24 to 60 months in the state of Tamilnadu, India and to find the correlation between screen time and demographic parameters. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted at the state of Tamilnadu, India from June 2019 to August 2019 among 148 children in play school and kindergarten classes in the age group of 24 to 60 months fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Details regarding screen time use were collected from the parents using a predesigned questionnaire and analyzed using suitable statistical methods. Results: A total of 148 children (77(52.0%) male and 71(48.0%) female) were studied. The average daily screen time in the study group was 139.4 minutes (SD: 1.6). Majority of the children had a screen time duration between 61 to 120 minutes (48.6%). Only 14.2% had a screen time of ≤60 minutes as per AAP and WHO recommendations. Majority of the screen time was used to watch children’s entertainment programs and play games (67.6%). 83.1% of the children were using 2 or more screen types. Television and smart phones were the commonest screen types used by children in this age group. The percentage of children with average daily screen time ≤ 60 minutes was found to be more in joint families (16.3%) compared to nuclear families (10%). But this difference was not statistically significant. No statistically significant correlation was found between screen time duration in children and age, gender, parent’s socioeconomic status, education and occupation. Conclusions: Increasing screen time activity in early childhood is an emerging problem of the digital age which requires interventions at family, social and healthcare levels.

Resumen
The subject of this research is the main initiatives undertaken in Nunavut aimed at preservation and development of the Inuktitut, which is the language of one of the three indigenous peoples of Canada – the Inuit. According to UNESCO, the Inuktitut alongside the majority of languages of the indigenous peoples of Canada, is currently classified as “definitely endangered”, and its preservation requires new solutions of the government. Indigenous languages are not only a means of communication, but also represent a complex system of the centuries-old knowledge, play a significant role in the identity of indigenous peoples, conservation of their culture, worldview, and self-determination. The problem of preservation of language as the crucial element of ethno-cultural heritage becomes increasingly important in the modern era of globalization, which has captured all countries and continents. The novelty of this study consists in analysis and assessment of the experience of the Canadian region Nunavut in implementation of bilingual education models in the regional educational institutions, as well as in the use of information technologies for popularizing the Inuktitut language. Despite the fact that the overall language situation in Nunavut remains complicate, immersion into the language on the levels of preschool and school education, development of media, television and radio broadcasting, the last two decades mark positive trends in the number of Intuits with the command of Inuit language. The experience of Nunavut is of practical importance for the development and implementation of federal and regional programs aimed at supporting the languages and cultures of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of Russia.

This article examines the television show Play School and the consistency with which it has engaged Australian children for over 40 years. Drawing on Susan Howard's findings that relate the effects of television on children to their perceptions of reality, Play School is deconstructed to reveal the techniques used to appeal to the preschool aged child's own experience of what is ‘real’. Examining episodes produced 20 years apart, these strategies are seen as constants throughout the show's history, and are further shown to accommodate a changing socio-cultural landscape and remain relevant to their young audience.

Resumen
Globalization gave rise to television, a significant source of instructional enrichment. It offers more comprehensive, advanced, and varied knowledge and instruction. Television has received a lot of flak for having a detrimental effect on secondary school pupils' academic achievement. Watching television could start to compete with studying time and eventually lead to poorer academic achievement. In this study, our aim was to identify the determinants of viewing Kana television programs on academic performance. To meet the objective, of the 1658 students, 138 were selected as a sample by using stratified random sampling. We gathered information from the sample of students by using primary and secondary data collection methods. Multiple linear regressions were used for data analysis, considering academic performance (the average mark after watching Kana TV) as the response variable. According to the descriptive statistic, 46.4% of students are males, and the remaining 53.6% are females because the total population of females is higher than males. 51.4% of students live in urban areas, and the remaining 48.6% live in rural area. 60.9% of students have access of satellite television and 39.1% of students have no access to satellite television. The major significant factors that affect the academic performance of students are age, religion, income, parent’s follow-up (father’s follow-up), access to satellite television, addiction to Kana television programs, and time spent.

The first phase consisted of a survey with 424 primary school students (aged 7-12 years) in the five provinces of Iran which were selected through a multi-stage random sampling of Iran. This survey investigated whether exposure to television program was related to children's use of media that explored using Buss – Perry standard questionnaire. The results revealed that 23% and 49% of the students displayed high and moderate aggression level respectively. A total of 22 programs were selected as the most favorite children’s TV programs which were assigned to a technical content analysis known as pacing in the second phase of study. The findings of the study showed that the highest pacing index was attributed to Pokemon (67.08), while Fetileh ranked as the lowest pacing index program (23.86). The results also revealed that TV program pacing scores were significantly and positively associated with aggression level of primary school children (p<0.05). The results of this study suggested the need for further attention on children’s television program production to protect them from antisocial behaviors.

Resumen
Presentation of talk show host program has been known to be intelligent, smart, and is able to direct the conversation in the program well. The presentation is in line with the view of talk show programs packed seriously as a journalistic genre program with emphasis on the truth of the facts or information conveyed. However, in recent years there are different representations associated with the talk show host of the program. The representation shows that a talk show host is not such intelligent and smart, and is not able to direct the conversation in the program properly. The existence of this representation is consistent with the theory of social construction assuming that mass media play a major role in shaping the social reality in the society. As of this writing, the audience receives social reality as a representation. Like the previous presentation, as the television has broadcasted for a long time, people feel that the reality is normative and ideal conditions for them. Public realize that the social reality was only the reconstruction of the television when TV presents a representation of another social reality. Nevertheless, whatever the social reality that is deliberately made or reconstructed by the media, including television, in fact everything is a reality that is deliberately created just for the sake of the manager or owner of the television station.

Outreach efforts by faculty members are oftentimes limited in scope due to hectic schedules. We developed a program to enhance science literacy in elementary school children that allows experts to reach a tremendous audience while minimizing their time commitment. The foundation of the program is a television series entitled “Desert Survivors.” The episodes air on local cable access television and are available to teachers on DVD. Each episode features a guest expert who spotlights a particular organism and how that organism overcomes the myriad of hardships inherent to desert survival. Local classrooms are visited to solicit questions from students regarding the organism of interest. These videotaped questions are integrated into Desert Survivors television production and provide the guest expert with the basis to discuss the ecology, physiology, and evolutionary biology of the organism. The program is bolstered through the use of an interactive website. Assessment strategies are in place to ensure program efficacy. Herein, we describe the development of the program as a model for innovative outreach opportunities.

This research aims to study the role of producer in the production of documentary television program "Wisata Muslim Nusantara". This program aims to explore and introduce the potential of Muslim tourism in various regions in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with the program producer and content analysis of the resulting television program. The results showed that the producer's role includes planning, organizing, supervising, and controlling all stages of program production. Producers are responsible for developing program concepts, determining goals and target audiences, and managing production schedules and budgets. In addition, the producer also plays a role in conducting research, selecting locations, and building cooperation with related parties such as local governments, Muslim communities, and the tourism industry. Producers are also involved in the content production process, including scriptwriting, shooting, editing and sound production. In terms of distribution, producers play a role in establishing cooperation with television stations to air the program, as well as promoting the program through social media and other online channels. Producers are also involved in evaluating and improving the program based on responses and feedback from viewers. The success of the program depends not only on informative and interesting content, but also on the producer's ability to manage and direct the entire production process.

Resumen
Play therapy is an empirically supported intervention used to address a number of developmental issues faced in childhood. Through the natural language of play, children and adolescents communicate feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Schools provide an ideal setting for play therapy in many ways; however, several challenges exist in implementing play therapy as a preventative or responsive intervention in the school setting. This article presents a brief overview of play therapy as a component of a comprehensive developmental school counseling program. The authors present a case study outlining how child-centered play therapy as a theoretical approach to play therapy can be used to effectively work with a child experiencing emotional and academic issues in the school setting.

Resumen
In this article, I explain a new media ecology for online television in which the online audience or fans and their participation play a stronger role in swaying the online video content or production. I call it fandomization of online television. Dependent on the number of online users and the viewership, online television platforms have to produce programs that align with the fans’ discourse and emotions to maximize their viewership. This results in a fan-discourse-led production, as in the case of China’s huge online video or television market. Based on my study of the top online television production company, Tencent Video, and its top television program, as well as ethnographic observations of their productions, I illustrate how Tencent Video manages fans by establishing a fan-based platform that works in tandem with its television platform. The dual television and fan-based platform of the television industry forms an interlocking web of the network of fans, their idols, and social media, with the consequences that social and political public discourse are highly synchronized in China’s extremely controlled Internet.

Objectives This study tries to develop a new teaching model of Singing Play in kindergartens and elementary schools based on the community. Methods This Community-based Singing Play Program was developed based on the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model is a stage of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This Singing Play Program model applied to 13 kindergarten and elementary school students in Busan, and a final Singing Play Program model was developed. Results First, it was confirmed that a community-based Singing Play kindergarten and elementary School linked program could achieve its meaningful goal. Second, a mixed-age community consisting of young and elementary school students is a strong organization that increases feelings of leadership and belonging as a member of the community, which adds meaning and value to communities. Third, the Community Singing Play Program combines traditional and modern background songs with play, thus playing a role in connecting traditional and modern culture for participants. Fourth, not only did the songs used for singing serve as a useful medium for forming communities, but also played the role of ‘play facilitator’ that encouraged the community to engage in the play. Fifth, the activities of singing programs spread to families, aided in the resolving of conflicts between families and distrust and misunderstandings about each other, leading to the restoration of family functions. Conclusions The Development of Community-based Singing Play Program Model for Connected Education of Kindergarten and Elementary School that it have meaning and value as a program that implements children's and play-oriented curriculum, and the subjects have more leadership and sense of belonging than conflict caused by leadership tattoos or competition during play. In addition, this program played a bridging role in continuing traditional and modern games in this era when play was disappearing.

Resumen
People outside of Boston came to know and care about the city’s “busing crisis” because television news featured the story regularly and this essay examines how television news framed this story for national audiences. This essay illuminates the production techniques of a medium that framed the “busing crisis” in Boston for millions of national viewers. First, I examine how the television coverage of Boston busing in the mid-1970s focused on reports, analysis, and predictions regarding antibusing protests and violence. This day-to-day focus on current and emergent scenes of crisis ignored the history of desegregation efforts since the 1960s, including those that received television coverage in earlier years, like the community-funded Operation Exodus program to bus black children to schools in other neighborhoods and the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare’s suspension of federal school aid to Boston for violating the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Second, I consider how television news framed the use of force in the Boston busing story. Much of the footage from Boston focused on confrontations between antibusing protestors and authorities from the Boston Police and other law enforcement. Third, I look at how television news offered viewers background reports on two of the places at the center of the busing story, South Boston and Charlestown. Finally, I analyze how local television news programs in other cities presented busing in Boston as a failed policy and regularly replayed the archived footage from Boston to underscore efforts to educate viewers on the importance of upholding the law and avoiding violence. Boston was neither the first nor the last city to witness violent resistance to school desegregation, but extensive television news coverage fixed Boston as the emblematic busing crisis and shaped popular conceptions of the history of busing for school desegregation.

The space dedicated to football in several and different television programs in which this industry is debated is often taken by the search for the “true image”, the image that proves the origin of the penalty, the image that supports the warning of the red card, or the image that betrays the irregularity of the goal. All these moments are, today, the target of thousands of hours of commentary in the television space, demonstrating a huge bias on the power of images repeated ad nauseum, there even being a moment where some formats of this type of program were questioned due to the « noise” and the “toxicity” that arose in such confrontations of ideas. This investigation aims to create an artistic object (filmic/video/installation) that explores the condition of the manipulable image-file that arises in this type of programs, and where it is often scrutinized, edited, altered, decontextualized, etc., in an incessant search for determination of a truth-moment.

Resumen
In this study, the authors scrutinize the intergenerational transmission of book reading and television viewing behaviors. They examine long-term effects of parents' social status, parental media example, and media guidance activities during one's childhood on adult media tastes. Data are employed from the Family Survey of the Dutch Population. By estimating structural equation models, the authors gained more insight into how parental socialization efforts influence children's book reading and television viewing. Unraveling direct and indirect effects, they found that both parental socioeconomic status and media socialization activities play a major role in the intergenerational transmission of media tastes. Imitation appeared to be the main mechanism underlying the media socialization process. Parental media guidance, both directly and via its effect on children's school success, partly mediates the imitation process, especially for reading. The current study above all shows that parental media socialization activities do enduringly affect a person's media taste. Hence, socialization is found to play an indispensable role in the development of both highbrow and lowbrow reading and television tastes.

Resumen
This paper uses sample survey data to examine the reach of SIDA dans la Cité (SDLC), a popular television series on Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa. Within the intervention area where SDLC was televised, the program targeted those with an elevated risk of contracting the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and those with low socioeconomic status who were likely to have limited access to health information and services. The results indicate that in electrified regions, the SDLC program achieved very good reach among the elevated-risk groups and moderate to good reach among the low socioeconomic status groups. The finding that rural populations obtain AIDS information overwhelmingly from radio and television implies that televised HIV prevention information can play a crucial role in electrified rural regions.

Resumen
Digital natives’ generation is inseparable from gadgets, less socializing, lack of creativity and being an individualist. The digital native’s generation wants things that are instant and lack respect for the process. The preoccupation of children with gadgets makes children socially alienated or known as anti-social. Preschool play an important role in the development of the digital native’s generation and in the future can help children use gadgets with parents. As it is known, the digital native’s generation is a kindergarten child. This study aims to determine the role of preschools in helping the use of gadgets in the digital native generation. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with simple random sampling technique was obtained 25 kindergarten principals in Pekanbaru City. Data was collected in the form of a questionnaire via google form. Data analysis uses percentages and is presented in the tabular form. The results of the study indicate that the role of preschools in the use of gadgets in digital native generation children in Pekanbaru City is included in the low category. Only a few preschools have organized parenting education for parents. There are almost no rules governing children's use of gadgets at home, and few preschools educate children on how to use gadgets properly. It is expected for teachers and preschools to add special programs in the curriculum to provide information about positive gadget use and parenting programs that discuss digital native generation and collaborate with parents to establish rules such as frequency, duration and content of children using gadgets. Resumen
Melanoma, the most fatal form of skin cancer, is rising at rates faster than all other preventable cancers in the United States. Childhood exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light increases the risk for skin cancer as an adult, therefore, starting positive sun protection habits early may be key to reducing the incidence of this disease. The Environmental Protection Agency’s SunWise School Program, a national environmental and health education program for sun safety of children in primary and secondary schools (Grades K–8), was evaluated. Pretests ( n =4,559) and posttests ( n =4,016) were completed by students from 85 schools in 35 states. Significant increases were noted for the three knowledge variables. Intentions to play in the shade increased from 70% to 76% ( p <0.001) with more modest changes in intentions to use sunscreen. Attitudes regarding the healthiness of a tan also decreased significantly. Brief, standardized sun protection education can be efficiently interwoven into existing school curricula and result in increases in knowledge and positive intentions for sun protection.

Resumen
Disasters of any kind attract significant attention from news media, and media play an important role in disaster response. In a US government program for hazardous materials preparedness, risk communication functions were incorporated into planning and are demonstrated during response exercises. To provide the best training and most realistic play, exercise controllers play the role of news media reporters—mock media—during these exercises. They attend news conferences, interview exercise players in the field, and make calls to participants. They produce news stories including television reports, newspaper articles, radio spots, blog entries, and social media messages. This allows exercise players to experience how their actions and statements would be represented in the media, more effectively mimicking the environment of a real event.

Resumen
Risk management for an institution is a necessity. It is because risk has become an integral part of the institution. For this reason, every institution, whether political, business, or social, must be appropriately managed. In that context, the study aims to find out about the form of risk management carried out by one of the independent state institutions that are trusted to broadcast, namely the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI). The main theories used are Broadcasting and Risk Management. This study uses qualitative methods and is supported by field data through data collection through in-depth interviews and involved observations. The study results show that the Central KPI must manage many risks in managing media broadcasts. Among these risks are unethical advertisements and broadcast protests due to the low socialization of the Broadcasting Code of Conduct and Broadcast Program Standards and complaints from the television reading community. Therefore, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission seeks to manage this risk through the School of Broadcasting Behavior Guidelines and Broadcast Program Standards (P3SPS) program and research on the quality of broadcast programs. With this program, stakeholders, journalists, and television broadcast media, as well as experts, are involved in schools and research. The socialization results made quality television broadcasts more enthusiastic, and finally, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission issued the KPI award, which was given to the most ethical broadcasting institution.
