Resumen
Abstract At the beginning of the Alpine cycle, the breakup of Pangea lead to the early stages of the North Atlantic opening. In the western Iberian sector of the European margin, the Lusitanian basin starts to evolve bordered eastwards by inherited reliefs from the late episodes of the Variscan orogeny. The base unit, the Silves Group, considered not earlier than the Carnian, is mainly siliciclastic and predominantly formed by arcosarenites to feldspar litarenites, coarse to very coarse-grained (wackes) and pebbly, where the sediment architecture denotes organizations in continental (Conraria, Penela and Castelo Viegas Formations) environments. A first marine episode (Isocyprina Beds of Pereiros Fm.) marks a significant change within the sedimentary record; the uppermost part corresponds to intertidal transitional environments (sabkha). New and detailed field work of sedimentological and structural nature that has been carried out in recent exposures from the type-region of Coimbra-Penela enabled us to make significant observations and to improve data collection. This allowed a full reinterpretation of the paleotectonic and paleogeographical conditions under which the Silves Group and, consequently, the eastern border of the Lusitanian basin, evolved. This study carried out in the type-region also allowed a better understanding of its sequential organization. All units are unconformity bounded by strong influxes of coarse siliciclastics from the Iberian meseta. One of those unconformities (D2b) is an angular unconformity with cartographic expression. Tectonic reconstructions were possible to make after a detailed structural analysis of normal synsedimentary faults. Regional comparisons with Eastern Iberian basins that evolved since Permian times are also discussed. We conclude that the lower red siliciclastic units are older than has been considered until now. Those units were formed in a previous tensional stress pattern of tardi-Variscan affinities, related to megashear dextral kinematics of Permian-Triassic age. We propose that units below D2b unconformity can record a Proto-Lusitanian basin; the Lusitanian basin is younger and evolved mainly after the Triassic-Jurassic limit (Castelo Viegas Fm.) within an E-W extensional context related to Atlantic type basins.

Resumen
The LGBTQ in the Philippines is one of the marginalized sectors in our society that is also highly affected by the pandemic that causes economic deprivation and is often forgotten in gender analyses and gender policy discussions. This study aimed to assess the skills training needs of LGBTQ in Infanta, Quezon; to determine the profile of the projects in terms of extension thrust, numbers of beneficiaries, budget allocation, resources, activities, and implementation; to develop and design an extension program. The Help Alleviating Poverty among LGBTQ through Amplifying Skills (HAPLAS) is an extension project that was developed and designed to address the pressing issues among LGBTQ. The needs assessment was conducted among the members of Samahang Ikatlong Lahi ng Infanta (SILI) with a total of twenty-four (24) participants who were purposively selected. This study is a quantitative descriptive employing frequency and percentage in the analysis of data. As identified in the needs assessments, the skills and training development programs to be implemented in the projects are hair cutting, hair perming, hair coloring, and hair and makeup, all are cosmetic-related activities. Moreover, financial literacy seminar is also to be integrated into the project because managing finances is one of the topmost issues and problems LGBTQ members have mentioned. For technical assistance, the project's proponents established a partnership with Junior Pitimini, an LGBTQ organization with members prominent in Quezon Province. Moreover, a partnership was also established in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Infanta for the venue and supplemental budget. This descriptive study revealed that the project has sufficient volunteers/workforce and facilities to implement the project. It is highly recommended that the project may replicate in other municipalities that may identify needs for the training of LGBTQ. Additional budget could also be increased to cover other significant results from the needs assessment. However, evaluation should be properly implemented to determine the sustainability of the project.

Resumen
AbstractAlthough in its infancy as a specialty, neurocritical care is rapidly developing its own niche, with a wide profile of patients—both neurosurgical and those with neurological pathologies. Rapid advances in monitoring technology as well as surgical techniques have led to an increasing number of patients, often presenting with myriad concurrent illnesses, who could be best served if managed by specialist neurointensivists. Neurocritical care units are being developed as free-standing intensive care units in several tertiary care hospitals, and literature regarding their establishment and organization is scant, leading to questions regarding how best to utilize resources to gain maximum benefit. This review aims to outline the challenges that are likely to be faced during establishment of such a unit, and to identify certain issues that are specific to this specialty.

Resumen
This research paper identifies components of organizational structure and the need to formulate a basic unit of organizational structure. The basic unit of any organization is vitally a propelling force that enables goal implementation and accomplishment. While organizational structures impact on the success and failure of achieving the set goal of an organization, it is extremely important to understand the elements that construct the basic structural unit of an organization. The purpose of the study is to understand and develop a substantial model of a basic structural unit of organization and how it could be managed. The methodology of the paper is through the holistic structural analysis of the basic units of living things and its relative impact on living, and relating the conceptual phenomenon of the living things to organizational structure and derive a basic unit. It is purely a qualitative study on living thing’s structural and functional aspects. The data collected were observed components of structural and functional aspects of human and plant anatomy and physiology and inanimate elements. Finding depicts the basic structural unit of an organization is composed of a physical system, cognitive system, social system, and spiritual system. Contingency approach of a basic unit fits all situations with the right composition of the systems considered in this research. Creating a basic unit of an organizational structure to function continuously to eliminate overt pressure and stress on employees. Differences in the functions performed internally and externally by living things and organization are significant. Synchronizing functional units with the basic unit have an effective outcome of organizational goals. Further study could be done separately on the sustainability of organizational growth and its effective basic unit. Discussions of the research identify the management of basic unit towards organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Resumen
This study empirically explores the link between power and information in organizations, and while doing so it also suggests a method to measure the relative power of an organizational unit in an organization due to the information it possesses. The study is based on the Strategic Contingencies Theory according to which the better a unit copes with uncertainty, the more central it is to the organization and the harder it is to replace its employees, consequently, the unit is more powerful relative to other units in the organization. In this study, information is regarded as an explanatory (independent) variable, additional to the traditional variables of the strategic contingencies theory. Two types of power were measured – perceived power and participation power; and two types of information were investigated – conveyed information and produced information. In general, it was found out that information indeed affects the organizational power of units within the organization. The influence is both direct and indirect, through a control variable – the type (i.e., the function) of the unit. Counter intuitively, the size of the unit or sub-unit (except for one case), the industrial sector and the number of employees in the entire organization were not found to affect the power of a sub-unit. It is known that some top executives in organizations tend to minimize the importance and value of the information systems when they do not produce immediate financial benefits. The result of this study, defining information as a factor influencing the power of the organizational sub-unit, is likely to confirm the important role of the information systems in the organization and to provide an additional explanation to the productivity paradox in the sense that information is not only a vehicle to provide economic value but rather an instrument to increase or sustain power.

Resumen
Hypertext organization perspective (Nonaka, 1994) is focused on knowledge creation and transfer between the main organization and project organization. However, initial hypertext organization perspectives did not take into the account the role of multi-membership in the project work. This article studies hypertext organization in the context of the multi-project case basing the analysis on the viewpoints of project-as-practice and auto-ethnography with the context of University. Auto-ethnography reveals the features of knowledge transfer in the multi-membership. Knowledge transfer of projects is not only based on the linkages between the separate education unit, the research unit and the unit of project activities, but also based on individual attitudes, features and capabilities on the multi-membership level. This study shows, instead of the externalization of knowledge, that plenty of knowledge creation activities - associated with hypertext organization - remain behind the individual actors in the form of tacit knowledge.

Now the identification of knowledge units and the relationship among them is still subjective and lacks systematic and scientific method. For improving rationality, the article applies digraph theory and arithmetic. The article puts forward to aggregation knowledge node into knowledge unit on certain arithmetic, and confirms the relationship among knowledge units in an organization. Case study shows that this method is more effective and rational than traditional simple method.

Resumen
Electroretinography is the technique that allows the evaluation of changes in electrical potential that occur when the eye is stimulated by light. Such changes reflect the response of several retinal cells including photoreceptors (cones and rods). Thus it evaluates the retinal functionality and can diagnose abnormalities in retinas seem to be normal by ophthalmoscopy. Due to the constant evolution in veterinary ophthalmology, new centers of retinal electrophysiology have been introduced around the world either for early diagnosis of retinopathies or for preoperative evaluation of animals with cataracts and glaucoma, as well as for continuing research. The Ophthalmology Unit of the "Governador Laudo Natel" Veterinary Teaching Hospital, in the Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) - Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) - Jaboticabal Campus, Brazil, supported by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo - FAPESP (Sao Paulo State Foundation for Research), set up the Unit of Ocular Electrophysiology for animals in order to provide conditions for the diagnosis of retinopathies. As a pioneering venture in Brazil, the organization of the services faced many challenges till the moment it was set up: the organization and arrangement of appropriate rooms, independent electrical distribution for the installation of separate pieces of equipment, adaptation of containment tables, training and qualification of the staff, and the elaboration and standardization of anesthetic and stimulation protocols. The wealth of information generated by our experience gave us the inspiration to write this paper, which aims to contribute to the work of researchers and veterinary ophthalmologists in this new and opportune field of specialization.

Resumen
Dyneins contain one-three microtubule motor units that are each derived from the C-terminal globular head of a heavy chain. The N-terminal regions of the heavy chains form stems that are required for intra-dynein associations. The microtubule-binding sites are located at the terminus of a short stalk that emanates from each globular head. Recent electron microscopic analysis indicates that the dynein head has a heptameric toroidal organization. This finding is echoed by the identification of six AAA (ATPases associated with cellular activities) domains and a seventh unrelated unit within this heavy chain region. At least two of these AAA domains can bind nucleotide, although only one appears able to hydrolyze ATP. Several other AAA domain proteins exhibit a similar annular organization of six AAA units. Detailed structural information is available for several AAA proteins, including N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive vesicle-fusion protein and the RuvB motor involved in DNA migration and resolution of Holliday junctions. The resulting structural parallels allow intriguing predictions to be made concerning dynein organization and motor function.

Resumen
1. Isometric muscle force and the surface electromyogram (EMG) were simulated from a model that predicted recruitment and firing times in a pool of 120 motor units under different levels of excitatory drive. The EMG-force relationships that emerged from simulations using various schedules of recruitment and rate coding were compared with those observed experimentally to determine which of the modeled schemes were plausible representations of the actual organization in motor-unit pools. 2. The model was comprised of three elements: a motoneuron model, a motor-unit force model, and a model of the surface EMG. Input to the neuron model was an excitatory drive function representing the net synaptic input to motoneurons during voluntary muscle contractions. Recruitment thresholds were assigned such that many motoneurons had low thresholds and relatively few neurons had high thresholds. Motoneuron firing rate increased as a linear function of excitatory drive between recruitment threshold and peak firing rate levels. The sequence of discharge times for each motoneuron was simulated as a random renewal process. 3. Motor-unit twitch force was estimated as an impulse response of a critically damped, second-order system. Twitch amplitudes were assigned according to rank in the recruitment order, and twitch contraction times were inversely related to twitch amplitude. Nonlinear force-firing rate behavior was simulated by varying motor-unit force gain as a function of the instantaneous firing rate and the contraction time of the unit. The total force exerted by the muscle was computed as the sum of the motor-unit forces. 4. Motor-unit action potentials were simulated on the basis of estimates of the number and location of motor-unit muscle fibers and the propagation velocity of the fiber action potentials. The number of fibers innervated by each unit was assumed to be directly proportional to the twitch force. The area of muscle encompassing unit fibers was proportional to the number of fibers innervated, and the location of motor-unit territories were randomly assigned within the muscle cross section. Action-potential propagation velocities were estimated from an inverse function of contraction time. The train of discharge times predicted from the motoneuron model determined the occurrence of each motor-unit action potential. The surface EMG was synthesized as the sum of all motor-unit action-potential trains. 5. Two recruitment conditions were tested: narrow (limit of recruitment < 50% maximum excitation) and broad recruitment range conditions (limit of recruitment > 70% maximum excitation).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 400 WORDS)

Resumen
The current condition of the Satpol PP organization (Pamong Praja Police Unit) is a pressure organization whose main task is to maintain peace and public order, enforce regional regulations and regional head regulations, and protect the community. One element of the Indonesian Civil Service Police Unit organization is the presence of female civil service police members, known today as the Indonesian Civil Service Police heroines, who play a role in changing the face of the organization to appear more humane, friendly, and professional. The purpose of this study is to identify, analyze, and explain the role of Srikandi Civil Service Police in developing the Civil Service Police Unit organization in Bali Province. For this study, a descriptive qualitative research method was used, employing Aghina Wouters' agile organization theory. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with key informants and stakeholders, direct observation, and reviewing documentation related to the Civil Service Police Unit's heroines. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of data collection was obtained by testing using triangulation of sources, techniques, and theories. The findings show that the role of the Civil Service Police heroine is currently strategic in changing the face of the Civil Service Police Unit, which still appears less humane and friendly to the community.

Expression from the Drosophila melanogaster hsp70 promoter was controlled by a regulatory unit that was composed of two sequence elements that resembled the heat shock consensus sequence. The unit functioned in both orientations and at different distances from downstream promoter sequences. Each element of the unit alone was essentially inactive. Association of two elements resulted in a dramatic increase of transcription from the hsp70 promoter. This synergistic effect was independent of the relative orientation of the elements and, to a large extent, of the distance between them. Duplication of a region containing only one element also yielded a highly active, heat-regulated promoter. Genes with three to five elements were three to four times more active than those with a single regulatory unit.

Resumen
1. We depleted single motor units in feline sartorius muscles of glycogen by stimulating their motoneurons intracellularly. We mapped the intramuscular distribution of depleted fibers by inspecting histological cross-sections throughout the length of sartorius. 2. We selected ten depleted motor units for detailed study and quantitative analysis. Nine motor units were located in the anterior head of sartorius. One was located in a muscle whose distal half appeared to have been damaged some time before the acute experiment. A single motor unit was located in the medial head of sartorius. 3. Five motor units were composed of fast-twitch glycolytic (FG) muscle fibers, two of fast-twitch oxidative glycolytic (FOG) muscle fibers, and three of slow-twitch oxidative (SO) muscle fibers. Estimates of the numbers of depleted fibers in motor units of anterior sartorius indicated that FG motor units were larger (mean 566 fibers) than FOG and SO motor units (SO mean 190, FOG mean 156 fibers). The SO motor unit in the damaged muscle had 550 fibers. One motor unit depleted in the medial head of sartorius had 270 fibers with FG profiles. 4. Muscle fibers belonging to each anterior motor unit were never distributed throughout the whole cross-section of anterior sartorius at any proximodistal level. Furthermore, fibers were distributed nonuniformly along the proximodistal axis of the muscle. In most muscles at least a few depleted fibers were found at all proximodistal levels. However, in one normal muscle and the damaged muscle, depleted fibers were confined to the proximal end. 5. The fibers in the medial motor unit were confined to a strip that did not extend across the whole cross-section of the muscle head. Fibers within this strip were scattered quite evenly from origin to insertion. This medial FG motor unit occupied a smaller territory and contained fewer fibers than anterior motor units of the same histochemical type. 6. These results show that sartorius motor units are not distributed uniformly in the mediolateral plane; those in anterior sartorius were distributed asymmetrically in the proximodistal axis as well. This finding has important functional implications for the way in which we model force development and transmission in sartorius and other long muscles.

Resumen
Background: Analyzing the local sequence content in proteins, earlier we found that amino acid residue frequencies differ on various distances between amino acid positions in the sequence, assuming the existence of structural units. Methods: We used informational entropy of protein sequences to find that the structural unit of proteins is a block of adjacent amino acid residues—“information unit”. The ANIS (ANalysis of Informational Structure) method uses these information units for revealing hierarchically organized Elements of the Information Structure (ELIS) in amino acid sequences. Results: The developed mathematical apparatus gives stable results on the structural unit description even with a significant variation in the parameters. The optimal length of the information unit is five, and the number of allowed substitutions is one. Examples of the application of the method for the design of protein molecules, intermolecular interactions analysis, and the study of the mechanisms of functioning of protein molecular machines are given. Conclusions: ANIS method makes it possible not only to analyze native proteins but also to design artificial polypeptide chains with a given spatial organization and, possibly, function.

Previous analysis of marketing organization has focused on the coordination of marketing activities and on organizational forms used to accomplish this, while ignoring the organization of marketing tasks at the work unit level. This article develops a contingency approach to the structure and performance of marketing activities at the work unit level, as well as higher levels within organizations, by blending the theoretical implications of traditional organization theory and transaction cost economics. Four propositions are developed to explain the effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptiveness of various marketing organizational structures. In addition, four basic structures of marketing organization are also explored.

Resumen
The article discusses the mission of the departments of personnel management in universities of the country. The author pays attention to the significance of the mission of the structural unit in the organization, its “weight”. He notes that there are units whose activities are directly related to the reputation of the organization, therefore, such a structural unit has a special responsibility both to the organization itself and to the public. The mission of such a unit is the essence of the synthetic unity of the functional responsibilities of the unit itself and the mission of the organization itself. And this essence is revealed in strengthening the reputation of the whole organization. Such a structural unit are the departments of personnel management in universities. It is noted that the essence of the mission of such departments is the principles of humanization of labor. The role of leading departments and leading scientists and teachers in the development of science and the educational direction of personnel management is noted. The problems and ways to overcome them are considered. First of all, it is safe, i.e. an employee in the workplace should not be worried about his future; in fairness, i.e. the share of the employee in the income must correspond to the share of his contribution; self-actualization of the employee in professional activity; democracy, i.e. participation of employees in the distribution of the organization's income.

Resumen
PurposeThis paper aims to explore the potential contribution of inter-unit network structure and intra-unit task environment to the overall knowledge management (KM) effectiveness of an organization through different KM strategies.Design/methodology/approachThe survey method was used to empirically test the hypotheses. The authors administered two survey forms: a member-survey form that obtained responses from members of each work unit and a leader-survey form issued only to the leader of each unit to obtain his/her perception on inter-unit communications.FindingsThe findings indicate that both a unit’s boundary-spanning role and its extensive interaction with other units help promote the unit’s overall KM effectiveness. In addition, the authors found that task variety was significantly related to the use of both personalization and codification of KM strategies in the unit, and that a unit’s KM strategy played a mediating role between intra-unit task characteristics and KM effectiveness.Originality/valueFew studies have attempted to address what makes some work units within an organization more effective in their use of knowledge than others. This study provides an understanding of the influence of inter-unit social network structure on KM effectiveness, as well as the influence of intra-unit task environment and KM strategies on KM effectiveness. The findings suggest that inter-unit knowledge exchange and a unit’s brokering role can be a vital component of a work unit’s KM strategy, and that for successful KM in a work unit, an organization should not only establish appropriate inter-unit relationship but also develop the unit’s own KM strategies.

Resumen
Abstract This paper contributes to the growing line of research that takes a multimodal approach in the study of interpreter-mediated dialogues. Drawing on insights from Conversation Analysis and multimodal analysis, we investigate how extended multi-unit turns unfold with interventions of an interpreter and, more specifically, what is the role of gaze in this process. The analysis is based on videos of interpreter-mediated dialogues (Dutch-Russian) recorded with mobile eye-tracking glasses. We argue that the interpreter’s gaze direction contributes both to the local management of turn-taking (next-speaker selection) and to sequence organization. More specifically, we show how interpreter’s gaze orientation bears on the negotiation of possible transition relevance places and how it contributes to the smooth continuation of the projected extended multi-unit turn.

Resumen
Adaptation is a process of changing a person in accordance with characteristics and requirements of the social environment. It can be social, psychological and physiological. The adaptation of members of the mixed-gender military units (officers, non-commissioned officers and professional soldiers) to all specifics of military organization (manner and organization of work, restrictions, psychological and physical strains, etc.) is certainly a specific process, especially in relation to other organizations. Accordingly, the objective of the research was to determine the extent to which members of mixed-gender units are adapted to working conditions in military organization and what kind of a relationship between individual characteristics of respondents (sex, age and years of service). The sample includes 453 members of mixed-gender units of the Serbian Armed Forces. Using a rotated component matrix, four isolated factors have been defined. The obtained results indicate the adaptation of a person to a working environment specific to security organizations.

Resumen
The need for comprehensive and independent services in the emergency unit led to a need for a special laboratory organization inthe unit. The simple laboratory organization has a special character that has a rapid and an accurate result, but it only provides certainparameters, which related to emergency condition. In the emergency unit laboratory tests are preferred to support the procedure ofdiagnosis and clinical decisions rather than to ensure that definitive diagnosis can be continued later, when the patient was moved tothe ward. The test is chosen to support the diagnosis of diseases which requiring immediate treatment, such as myocardial infarction, stroke, emergency surgery preparation, the diagnosis of infection and electrolyte tests and blood gas analysis especially for critically illpatients. Back up instruments should be provided that can be operated anytime when there is congestion, an ideally means that willnot interrupted the services. The laboratory needs an emergency unit that can be served by means of a simple, fast, accurate thoroughtest, and it is cheap as well. The unit should also linked to LIS and HIS. So that the results can be known or accepted in all parts of thehospital. The advantage of a special laboratory emergency unit in this case may accelerate the time of service as well as saving energyand the communications will be more simple, compared to the central laboratory, and should be operated for 24 hours.

Resumen
The principle of program control means that the processor core turns to the main memory of the computer for operands or instructions. According to architectural features, operands are stored in data segments, and instructions are stored in code segments of the main memory. The operating system uses both page memory organization and segment memory organization. The page memory organization is always mapped to the segment organization. Due to the cached packet cycles of the processor core, copies of the main memory pages are stored in the internal associative cache memory. The associative cache memory consists of three units: a data unit, a tag unit, and an LRU unit. The data unit stores operands or instructions, the tag unit contains fragments of address information, and the LRU unit contains the logic of policy for replacement of string. The missing event attracts LRU logic to decide for substitution of reliable string in the data unit of associative cache memory. The pseudo-LRU algorithm is a simple and better substitution policy among known substitution policies. Two options for the minimization of the hardware for replacement policy by the pseudo-LRU algorithm in q - directed associative cache memory is implemented. The transition from the trigger structure of the synchronous D-trigger to the trigger structure of the synchronous JK-trigger is carried out reasonably in both options. The first option of minimization is based on the sequence for updating of the by the algorithm pseudo LRU, which allows deleting of the combinational logic for updating bits of LRU unit. The second option of minimization is based on the sequence for changing of the q - index of direction, as the consequence for updating the bits of LRU unit by the algorithm pseudo LRU. It allows additionally reducing the number of memory elements. Both options of the minimization allow improving such characteristics as productivity and reliability of the LRU unit.
