This dissertation is a consideration of the photographic in its relation to memory and mourning in both their personal and historical forms. It demonstrates how photography is a figure of mourning; how it is at once a means of connecting and a means of cutting off. Figures of mourning and filmmakers’ unique formal gestures are analyzed through a pared-down corpus of three essay films. In Letter From a Yellow Cherry Blossom (2002), Naomi Kawase is personally confronted with death. Her use of photographic stills provokes an interruption that reverses a seemingly fatal trajectory. Photography is a connecting figure that brings together the living and the dead. In Alain Cavalier’s This Answering Service Takes No Messages (1978), the filmmaker embodies a man in mourning. He uses a number of photographic stills from his personal archives, including newspaper clippings showing cadavers from the Second World War. This gesture of reuse brings out the historical dimension of the issues investigated in this dissertation. Photography becomes a figure of cutting off: the film deploys a number of figures through which rupture is insistent and participates in a process of mourning. In David Perlov’s Diary (1973-1982), a project bookended by two wars, these issues take on a political dimension. The Israeli filmmaker and photographer makes use of a number of photographic formats. Through reuse and repetition, the photographic allows for a transformation of the figure that breaks off from a traumatic past

This thesis is based on a qualitative and reflexive analysis in order to interpret the narrative, visual and sound resources that articulate the cinematographic essays “Diary” (1973-1983), “Updated Diary” (1990-1999) and “My Stills” (1952-2002). These operations seek to describe the poetics of the interval that its author, Brazilian-Israeli filmmaker, photographer and visual artist, David Perlov (Rio de Janeiro, 1930 - Tel Aviv, 2003), displays to represent his uprooting. The set of these diaries forms a unique cinematographic corpus; a filme-fleuve of around ten hours that shapes the daily experience of Perlov throughout fifty years of his life, and becomes a monumental passage that connects the different spheres in which his reality oscillates: his affective and personal intimacy, his identity as a nomad and the crises and wars in which Israel was involved during the second half of the 20th century. In order to depict a fractured and “in transit” subjectivity, Perlov convenes diverse essayistic self-representation strategies that operate on a discursive, aesthetic and political level, and which travers the various artistic manifestations he developed throughout his life. The expressive searches set out by his diaries gather together elements not only from the cinematographic arts, but also from photography, painting, literature and music. Hence, Perlov’s documentary gaze holds a great audiovisual complexity, rich in intertextual winks, gestures, faces, bodies, trajectories, spaces, objects, houses, sounds, voices and reflections that imbricate to shape an open, fluid and interstitial filmic weave. This research aims to interrogate this multiplicity of resources from an inter-relational approach, able to examine those interstitial practices that formulate an aesthetic of the interval, characteristic in Perlov’s diaries. Based on this scheme and as a result of the correspondence between theory and analysis, the thesis proposes to delimit the concept of “hinge image” to symbolize the passages, relations and tensions between life and art; the private and the public; interior and exterior; inside and outside —metaphorized in the home and the street—; between domestic and political; microhistory and macrohistory; past and present; between the universe of the living and the realm of the dead; between the self and the others; between exile and returns; between nomadism, borders, homelands and cities (Tel Aviv, Sâo Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Paris); belonging and uprooting, between the still and the moving image; between analogue technologies —celluloid— and electromagnetic devices —video—; between sound and sense; voice and word, just to mention some of the multiple transits through the thresholds offered by Perlov’s ouvre. Among other elements, the interstitial poetic of the hinge image visually decodes into a persistent presence of windows, doors and archways, as mechanisms of fluctuation that regulate both the flows between the different universes of representation intertwined in Perlov’s diaries, and the relations that operate in the problematization of his substantial uprooting and foreignness.

In today's world, having a pet is very common in every home. In Metropolitan Lima, 1.37 million households have a pet at home, this represents 55% of Lima households, and it is estimated that by 2021 the figure will reach 1.45 million (Ipsos, 2016). Our research allows us to know that people who have a dog, generally consider the dog as another member of the household, however care for pets sometimes cannot be given due to the lack of time that their owners present and that they even prevent them from being able to walk their pets at least once a day. Therefore, if this does not happen, dogs suffer from stress and somatic diseases that are triggered, in addition to behavior problems that in the long run cause problems for the owners and their homes (Mármol, 2016). This situation gives rise to the creation of "Safe Barks", a project that seeks to formalize a service for dog walkers, relying on state-of-the-art technological tools such as an application that provides pet owners with a safe and good quality service. In addition, a training will be developed that allows the canines to obtain all the exercise and care they require during the time they are away from home.

Vitamin K-dependent protein (VKDPs) is a family of proteins known for their involvement in the regulation of blood coagulation. Their activity depends on post-translational modification, the γ-carboxylation, witch is inhibited by warfarin. Two VKDPs, protein S and Gas6 have been identified as ligands of TAM receptor tyrosine kinase family. The study lead in mice invalidated for these receptors suggests the involvement of VKDPs in neurogenesis. In rodents, neurogenesis provided by neural stem cells (NSC) persists into adulthood in several brain regions including the subventricular zone (SVZ). My thesis had the main objective to understand the effect of VKDPs on NSC activity of the SVZ but also the involvement of Gas6 protein in retinogenesis. Our results show that the inhibition of VKDPs secretion by warfarin stimulates NSC proliferation. In addition, we show that TAM receptors and their ligands are expressed by NSC and in CSF, that exogenous protein S reverses the warfarin effects and that absence of Gas6 protein in Gas6-/ - mice induced a reduction of NSC proliferation. All these results revealed the involvement of VKDPs in the regulation of NSC proliferation. The second part of this work shows that NSC have a basal phagocytosis activity that is stimulated by protein S. The third part of this work shows that Gas6-/- mice subject to a retinal lesion, cell proliferation to repair the damage is less important than in wild mice

The purpose with this study is to achieve a deeper knowledge and understanding for the perceived importance of using a Person-Organization fit in recruitment. The study also aims to investigate a possible existing organizational culture in an industrial company, and how concistent this culture seems to be throughout the organization. The authors have also tried to gain knowledge on how new employees are indroduced into this culture. The results are based on three group interviews with operational personnel, interviews with two persons from the manegerial group, and interviews with two recruitment firms. The results indicate that a Person-Organization fit is perceived to be important when it comes to some basic values. However, different personalities are more desirable within the investigated organization concerning recruits. Results also indicate that the socialization process, rather than an applied Person-Organization fit, might have a larger significance for a perceived congruence between personal and organizational values.

This PhD dissertation approaches the film-essay as dialectics of film creation, understood as a method to link both film theory and practice. Based on the studies of the essay as form proposed in the field of film studies, the thesis formulates the conceptualization of the essay film from its particularities as a creative process and traces its genealogy to Walter Benjamin’s methodological approach in The Arcades Project. This research conceives filmic practices as a way of thinking cinema theoretically and understands the figure of the filmmaker as a craftsman, who appropriates the production norms to inscribe his presence in the image. This study takes as the main core the methods of creation exposed by Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville, David Perlov and Jonas Mekas where the essay film is not revealed as a form but as a discovery experience in and for creation.

Resumen
Person-environment (PE) fit has been considered one of the most pervasive concepts in psychology. This study presents an integrative investigation of three levels of PE fit: person-vocation (PV) fit, person-organization (PO) fit, and person-job (PJ) fit, using multiple conceptualizations (e.g., value congruence, needs-supplies fit) of each fit level. While a trend in the PE fit literature has been the inclusion of only one fit level with a single conceptualization, researchers call for the addition of multiple conceptualizations of multiple fit levels in a single study. Traditionally, PO fit has been conceptualized as value congruence, whereas PV fit has remained untouched in the literature investigating the direct measurement of fit perceptions. Therefore, new fit perceptions scales assessing PO fit using a needs-supplies fit conceptualization and PV fit using a variety of conceptualizations were introduced. To address the limitation of employing direct measures, common method variance was modeled with a positive affect factor. The study accomplished two objectives. First, a previously supported three-factor model of fit perceptions consisting of PO value congruence (PO-VC), PJ needs-supplies (PJ-NS), and PJ demands-abilities (PJ-DA) fit was strongly replicated. Second, this model was expanded by examining additional conceptualizations (needs-supplies, demands-abilities fit, value, personality, and interest congruence) of fit levels (PV, PO, and PJ fit). Results suggested that professionals make distinctions based on both the fit level and fit conceptualization and these fit perceptions uniquely influence their attitudes and behaviors. A six-factor model (PO-VC, PJ-NS, PJ-DA, PO needs-supplies fit [PO-NS], PV demands-abilities fit [PV-DA], and general PV fit) best fit the data. Providing ample evidence of construct validity, PO fit perceptions (PO-VC and PO-NS fit) were related to the organization-focused outcome of organizational identification, whereas the profession-focused outcome of occupational commitment was exclusively predicted by PV fit perceptions (PV-DA and general PV fit). As expected, both needs-supplies fit perceptions (PO-NS and PJ-NS fit) predicted intentions to quit and job satisfaction. Recommendations for future research are suggested.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze P2P lending, its formation and development and evaluate how it has worked for small businesses and start-ups. Problem statement: The study examines how person-to-person lending through the Internet has emerged. Furthermore, the study examines the development of the P2P platform Lending Club since its inception in 2007 until 2011. Finally, the study examines the characteristics of the borrowers at Lending Club who are applying for loans to small businesses and start-ups, as well as how they perform in terms of their ability to repay their loans.        Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework consists mainly of scientific articles regarding the financial gap, information asymmetries and credit rating. Furthermore, studies on social lending and P2P-lending are presented in a background chapter. Conclusions: The study concludes that P2P lending through the Internet has its origins in social lending and made possible by foremost technological development of rating tools. The development of Lending Club has shifted from more of a social network to more of a financial intermediary with creditworthy borrowers and institutional investors. Members on Lending Club that borrow to small businesses and start-ups are characterized by having a higher credit rating compared to other borrowers, while they perform less well in terms of ability to repay.

Resumen
Communications over social media, telephone, email, text etc have emerged as an integral part of modern society and they are popularly used for the expression of anger, anxiety, fear, agitation and opinion by the people. People's social interaction tend to increase dramatically during periods of epidemics, protest and calamities. Therefore, above mentioned communication channels plays an important role in the spread of infectious phenomenon, like rumors, fads and effects. These infectious phenomena alters people's behavior during disease epidemic [1][2]. Social contact networks and epidemics co-evolve [1][2]. The spread of a disease influences people's behavior which in turn changes their social contact network, thereby altering the disease spread itself. As a result, there is a need for modeling the spread of these infectious phenomena that lead to changes in behavior. Their propagation among population primarily depends on the social contact network. The nature of social contagion spread is very similar to the spread of any infectious disease as they are contagious in nature. To spread contagious disease requires direct exposure to an infectious agent, whereas social contagions can be spread using various communications media like social networking forums, phones, emails and tweets. EpiSimdemics is an individual-based modeling environment. It uses a people-location bipartite graph as the underlying network [3]. In its current form, EpiSimdemics requires two people to interact at a location to model simulations. Thus, it cannot simulate the spread of social contagions that do not necessarily require the meeting of two agents at a location. We enhance EpiSimdemics by incorporating Person-Person network, which can model communications between people that are not contact based such as communications over email, phone, text and tweet. This Person-Person network is used to model effects (social contagion) which induce behavioral changes in population and thus impacting the disease spread. The disease spread is modeled on Person-Location network. This leads to the scenario of two interacting networks: Person-Person network modeling social contagion and Person-Location modeling disease. Theoretically, there can be multiple such networks modeling various interacting phenomena. We demonstrate the usefulness of this network by modeling and simulating two interacting PTTSs (probabilistic timed transition systems). To model disease epidemics, we have defined Disease Model and to model effects (social contagion), we have defined Fear Model. We show how these models influence each other by performing simulations on EpiSimdemics with interacting Disease and Fear Model. Therefore a model that does not include the affect adaptations on disease epidemics and vice-versa, fails to reflect the actual behavior of a society during disease epidemic spread. The addition of Person-Person network to EpiSimdemics will allow for a better understanding of the affect adaptions, which can include behavior changes in society during an epidemic outbreak. This would lead to effective interventions and help to better understand the dynamics of disease epidemic.

Resumen
Mestrado em Engenharia de Computadores e Telemática
With the dawn of interactive Web Applications the face of the Web was changed forever. Web sites are no longer the lifeless, static pages of the past, thanks to Javascript they became full-fledged interactive applications, now competing with their desktop counterparts. Thus, for a privacy-oriented architecture proposed for service sharing, it was decided to design them as Web applications, naturally using Javascript. However, this language presents some serious security issues, and since the architecture should tolerate the inclusion of untrusted third-party Web applications, allowing an unconstrained use of Javascript in those applications is unacceptable. Since removing all Javascript is not an option when it comes to build interactive, modern, Web applications, we need somehow to use controlled Javascript. Many solutions were developed in the past that try to isolate trusted Javascript and sensitive information on a Web page with unstrusted Javascript. Our approach is different because we do not analyse existing Javascript code deployed within Web Applications, as others did. Instead, we completely filter out any Javascript used by our applications, and we use special annotations in Web pages to inject our own, risk-free Javascript code. Thus, we designed and developed a system able to parse certain keywords (or annotations) that translate into safe Javascript code, which allows us to have a complete control over the Javascript code running on an application plugged into this architecture. For asserting a minimum set of annotations necessary to build an appealing and reactive Web application, we developed three different applications that use them: a photo sharing gallery, a text chat and a voice chat.

It is argued that reference in first-person thought is distinct from reference in other thoughts about objects. This difference is located in the lack of acquaintance required for first-person thought. In order to be in the position to think about and refer to other objects, a subject must be acquainted with them. It is this acquaintance relation which enables him to think about a particular object. In contrast, a subject can think about himself without being acquainted with himself because he is the subject of his thought. No acquaintance relation is required in order for him to be in a position to think about himself - he is in this position already. Part I of this thesis sets out the problem of first-person thought, and introduces a distinction between subjective and objective first-person thought. Part II explores singular thought, and what it is for a subject to have a thought about a particular object. It is argued that a subject's acquaintance with an object is necessary for him to be able to think about and refer to an independent object. This means that for a subject to think about an independent object that object must in some way be present to him. In Part III it is argued that for a subject to think first-personally the object - himself - need not be present to him. The subject has experiences from the first-person perspective, grounding his subjective first-person thoughts. Because he has such experiences he can refer reflexively. He is at the centre of his scheme of reference. And it is because he can refer in subjective first-person thoughts that he can refer in objective first- person thoughts.

The RADAR is already relatively old for military purposes that underwent a major development during World War II. Nowadays there is a strong development in RADAR in navigation or surveillance/security applications. This dissertation follows on from these new applications, which aim to develop a low cost RADAR that allows the user to detect people as well as their movements through walls or opaque objects. The development of this RADAR has relied on emerging technologies such as adaptive antennas and SDR that allow for great versatility and adaptation in terms of applications. The use of a MIMO RADAR provides a greater diversity of information that guarantees more probabilities of detection and the application of digital techniques of beamforming, allows to know the position and the movement of the person. With the implementation of these techniques a prototype capable of detecting people and their movements through walls and bricks was successfully developed solving the initial problem. In the RADAR design phase it was necessary to characterize the propagation of radio waves in building materials, such as bricks and wood, by measuring their attenuation. In this way it was possible to perform the power balance for several scenarios.

This bachelor thesis examines the potential risks of face to face communication that may occur during the use of modern technology and social media. The aim is to find out what kind of impact may occur when people over consume modern technology and various types of social media (e.g. Facebook, twitter, Instagram and Myspace). The study will then form a base for a digital game witch will focus on finding a way technology can improve communication face to face. The game will introduce the players to a problem that only can be solved by working and communicate with each other.

The contact patterns among individuals can significantly affect the progress of an infectious outbreak within a population. Gathering data about these interaction and mixing patterns is essential to assess computational modeling of infectious diseases. Various self-report approaches have been designed in different studies to collect data about contact rates and patterns. Recent advances in sensing technology provide researchers with a bilateral automated data collection devices to facilitate contact gathering overcoming the disadvantages of previous approaches. In this study, a novel unilateral wearable sensing architecture has been proposed that overcome the limitations of the bi-lateral sensing. Our unilateral wearable sensing system gather contact data using hybrid sensor arrays embedded in wearable shirt. A smartphone application has been used to transfer the collected sensors data to the cloud and apply deep learning model to estimate the number of human contacts and the results are stored in the cloud database. The deep learning model has been developed on the hand labelled data over multiple experiments. This model has been tested and evaluated, and these results were reported in the study. Sensitivity analysis has been performed to choose the most suitable image resolution and format for the model to estimate contacts and to analyze the model's consumption of computer resources.

The neosporosis is an emergent disease, considered important cause of abortion in the cattle and serious neuromuscular disease in dogs. The aim of the present study was to determine the seroprevalencia of Neospora caninum in dogs of dairy farms of the left basin of the Valley of Mantaro. 124 serum of dogs were evaluated of 24 dairy farms of the provinces: Huancayo, Jauja and Concepcion. A prevalencia of antibodies against N. caninum dectect was 19.35 ± 6.95 % (24/124), in a dilution of 1:50, by means of the indirect inmunofluorescense test. The percentage of stables that possessed at least an infected dog was 62.5 % (15/24). Association were not situated between the rate of infection and the variables geographical location, age, gender, and origin (of the stable or of around). This result shows, at dogs in the Valley of the Mantaro, a seroprevalence of N. caninum moderate, by what there is recommended the control of the aproach of the dogs for the dairy establishments, moreover that infection is present in the majority of stables in the Valley of the Mantaro.

Resumen
This project focused on developing a service learning group of college students to do science outreach with elementary students as a win-win opportunity to increase the content knowledge of all the students involved, give the college students the opportunity to empower the elementary students, and fulfill some of the needs of the college awareness program at an elementary school. Analysis of this project was completed using results from pre- and post-outreach experience questionnaires as a way to establish demographic information of the participants, get comparative awareness and interest of college and science information, and find some common points to make connections between the groups of students. Questionnaires were also used for the classroom teachers to understand how outreach benefited their classroom. Journals were utilized with college students as well as wrap-up meetings after each outreach experience in order to document personal experiences both as a mentor as well as students growing in their own content mastery. I also kept notes of the experience from my viewpoint.

Moreover, the ear infections were mostly caused by one agent being the most frequently agent isolated the Staphylococcus intermedius, with 27.72%. However, we must take in account important agents as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus sp. and Staphylococcus sp.. In susceptibility testing by the Kirby-Bauer method, we found the highest level of bacterial susceptibility to quinolones, aminoglycosides, cephalosporins and penicillins combined with inhibitors of betalactamics. Meanwhile, penicillins, sulfas, tetracyclines, macrolides and lincosamides were less effective in inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. Key Words: Otitis, susceptibility, bacteria.

Resumen
The most desirable characteristic of a facility layout is its ability to maintain its efficiency over time while coping with the uncertainty in product demand. A traditional facility layout design method is governed by the flow intensity between departments, which is the product flow quantity between two departments. Hence, an error in the product demand assessment can render the layout inefficient with respect to material handling costs. Most of this research integrates uncertainty in the form of probability of occurrence of different from-to charts. In an environment where the variability of each product demand is independent, the derivation of “probabilistic from-to chart” based scenarios cannot be used to address uncertainty of individual demands. This dissertation presents a facility layout problem approach to deal with the uncertainty of each product demand in the design of facility layout. Two procedures are presented: the first procedure is utilized to assess the risk associated with the layout, while the second procedure is used to develop the layout that minimizes risk. Results from case studies have shown that the procedure results in reduction of risk by as much as 68 percent.

Resumen
Job seekers have often made job choices based upon the degree to which they fit the tasks requirements of the job. This concept is referred to as person-job (P-J) fit. In addition, research has suggested that job seekers self-select organizations to work for based upon the perceived fit between themselves and the organization. This concept is referred to as person-organization (P-O) fit.

This dissertation presents various aspects of the solution of the linear multi-period stochastic programming problem. Under relatively mild assumptions on the structure of the random variables present in the problem, the value function at every time stage is shown to be jointly convex in the history of the process, namely the random variables observed so far as well as the decisions taken up to that point. Convexity enables the construction of both upper and lower bounds on the value of the entire problem by suitable discretization of the random variables. These bounds are developed in Chapter 2, where it is also demonstrated how the bounds can be made arbitrarily sharp if the discretizations are chosen sufficiently fine. The chapter emphasizes computability of the bounds, but does not concern itself with finding the discretizations themselves. The practise commonly followed to obtain a discretization of a random variable is to partition its support, usually into rectangular subsets. In order to apply the bounds of Chapter 2, one needs to determine the probability mass and weighted centroid for each element of the partition. This is a hard problem in itself, since in the continuous case it amounts to a multi-dimensional integration. Chapter 3 describes some Monte-Carlo techniques which can be used for normal distributions. These methods require random sampling, and the two main issues addressed are efficiency and accuracy. It turns out that the optimal method to use depends somewhat on the probability mass of the set in question. Having obtained a suitable discretization, one can then solve the resulting large scale linear program which approximates the original problem. Its constraint matrix is highly structured, and Chapter 4 describes one algorithm which attempts to utilize this structure. The algorithm uses the Dantzig-Wolfe decomposition principle, nesting decomposition levels one inside the other. Many of the subproblems generated in the course of this decomposition share the same constraint matrices and can thus be solved simultaneously. Numerical results show that the algorithm may out-perform a linear programming package on some simple problems. Chapter 5, finally, combines all these ideas and applies them to a problem in forest management. Here it is required to find logging levels in each of several time periods to maximize the expected revenue, computed as the volume cut times an appropriate discount factor. Uncertainty enters into the model in the form of the risk of forest fires and other environmental hazards, which may destroy a fraction of the existing forest. Several discretizations are used to formulate both upper and lower bound approximations to the original problem.

This investigation has been focused on the needs of independence and safety of the visually impaired. The study of these individuals’ daily routine reveals if the solution we are suggesting, we have come to think it is best, fits with the problem we detected. Using tools such as the Business Model Canvas and the Experiment Board, together with a suitable Marketing Plan and Operations Plan, we would determine if the solution solves the problem that our potential client faces every day. In Peru, according to INEI last report, there are 600,000 people with visual impairment. From this total, 160,000 suffer from total blindness and 440,000 have some visual related disease. The suggested business model has its roots in the motivation of helping assist these people properly by offering a sustainable service to solve their problems as we observed these are being neglected. As in today, consciousness on the needs for the visual impaired in the country have not been taken nor offered help in the proper scale as needed.

Resumen
With advances in sensing technology, automatic recognition of human activities has become a popular research topic. Miniaturised wearable devices can now collect and process the data during activities of daily living. Such technologies rely on algorithms that can effectively combine and interpret wearable sensor data to identify different activities. There are four contributions in this thesis based on a novel wearable device - `Smart Glasses'. The device is able to recognise the subjects' activities of daily living (ADLs) using their first-person vision and motion data. This system consists of a series of algorithms and models. Firstly, we develop first-person video feature extraction algorithms for egocentric vision. The method utilises the optical flow principle on consequent images and extracts the informative motion features, Secondly, we propose dynamic motion detection algorithms to automatically extract the `motion' from the first-person view. The algorithms, based on a Bayesian regression framework known as Gaussian Processes (GP), extract the dynamic portion and related motion tracks of the images. Thirdly, we present a Multi-Scale Conditional Random Field model, which can be applied on top of the conventional approaches. This allows the system to obtain multi-scale context from the sequence of activities. Furthermore, it also has the capacity to integrate multiple sensors into the same system, and potentially increase the system functions. Finally, all the designed algorithms are validated and tested on a wide range of populations, including healthy adults, elders and a mixed disabled patient population, aged between 22 to 89 years old. Our approaches achieve an overall accuracy of up to 89.59% and 84.45% over 12 ADLs for adults and the elderly, and up to 77.07% accuracy on 14 activities from the disabled patients.

Resumen
While over-dispersed Poisson age-period-cohort and extended chain-ladder models are used in a number of fields, so far no rigorous statistical theory has been available. We consider models for aggregate data organized in a two-way table with age and cohort as indices, but without measures of exposure. In these models, used for example in actuarial science, demography, economics, epidemiology and sociology, the number of parameters grows with the number of observations. Thus, standard asymptotic theory is invalid. In Chapter 2, we propose a repetitive structure that keeps the dimension of the table fixed while increasing the latent exposure. We pair this with the assumptions of infinitely divisible distributions which include a variety of compound Poisson models and Poisson mixture models. We then show that Poisson quasi-likelihood estimation results in asymptotic t parameter distributions, F inference, and t forecast distributions. In Chapter 3, we build on the asymptotic framework from Chapter 2 and develop tests for model specification. The over-dispersed Poisson model assumes that the over-dispersion is common across the data. A further assumption is that effects do not have breaks, for example age effects do not vary over cohorts. A log-normal age-period-cohort model makes similar assumptions. We show that these assumptions can easily be tested and that similar tests can be used in both models. In Chapter 4, we develop a non-nested test that allows one to evaluate whether the over-dispersed Poisson or log-normal model is the better choice for the data. While the over-dispersed Poisson model imposes a fixed variance to mean ratio, the log-normal models assumes the same for the standard deviation to mean ratio. We leverage this insight to propose a test that has high power to distinguish between the two models. Again, the theory is asymptotic but does not build on a large size of the array and instead makes use of information accumulating within the cells.

The main issue of this thesis is concerned to the listening and it's compositions in view of the experimental ways of frequentation of the architecture person-to-person in the internet. They will be approached, as empirical corpus, practices of sonorous compositions spread through site-programs like soulseek.org and known as bootleg mash ups. The research tries to demonstrate the difficulties coming from the specutations of the thought when dealing with the investigation how the sensations in the listening, make some contagious, encouraged by collective affects linked to the temporalities of the technology and the musical creation. The conceptual basis of this thesis leans on the approximation among the echoing ideas of F. Nietzsche, Gabriel Tarde, Henri Bergson, F. Pessoa, Gilles Deleuze and F. Guattari. The purpposal is to discuss, from the conceptions that these authors brought to the problem of the imagem in the thought, what changes about the sensation of listening when the image of the thought changes. In such a way this work adopts the contribution of the "thought of the haecceitas", trying to re-imagine the creative virtualities of the Time in the composition of the musical listening. Accorded to this conception, instead of abiding by the practice of cutting and pastting sonorous elements, the desktop's composer will need to invest previously in an experimental economy of rhythms and images of the Time to potencialize the sensations in the listening. From this premise, it is asserted that the creative performances of musical listening, stimulated by the ways of conviviality into the sites peer-to-peer, need to interfere in the regimes of perception, sense and the image that the subjectivity aquires in the stereotyped cadences of the internet. Such practices present themselves as an heteronymic poetical activity, with an invenctive resistence to the recent technological processes of subjectivation. To achieve this level, the compositional listening needs to go beyond the reccuring stable regimes of the sound, the sign, the space, the phenomenon, the sense, the techinque and the musical logos in the transcndentalimage of thought. From this creative battle in a saturated enviroment of axioms, the musical composition faces up the problem of retitute singular in the sensation, to transduce the wills and to make a contagious of the sensivity virtualities into the thought of the listening
