Texto completoLet g = 1 or 2 and p > 3 be a prime. For the symplectic group GSp2g the Hecke eigensystems appearing in the spaces of classical automorphic forms, of a fixed tame level and varying weight, are p-adically interpolated by a rigid analytic space, the GSp2g-eigenvariety. A sufficiently small subdomain of the eigenvariety can be described as the rigid analytic space associated with a profinite algebra T. An irreducible component of T is defined by a profinite ring I and a morphism θ : T → I. In the residually irreducible case we can attach to θ a representation ρθ : Gal(Q/Q) → GSp2g(I). We study the image of ρθ when θ describes a positive slope component of T. In the case g = 1 this is a joint work with A. Iovita and J. Tilouine. Suppose either that g = 1 or that g = 2 and θ is residually of symmetric cube type. We prove that Im ρθ is “big” and that its size is related to the “accidental congruences” of θ with the subfamilies that are obtained as lifts of families for groups of smaller rank. More precisely, we enlarge a subring I0 of I[1/p] to a ring B and we define a Lie subalgebra G of gsp2g(B) associated with Im ρθ. We prove that there exists a non-zero ideal l of I0 such that l · sp2g(B) ⊂ G. For g = 1 the prime factors of l correspond to the CM points of the family θ. Such points do not define congruences between θ and a CM family, so we call them accidental congruence points. For g = 2 the prime factors of l correspond to accidental congruences of θ with subfamilies of dimension 0 or 1 that are symmetric cube lifts of points or families of the GL2-eigencurve

Texto completoFor improved grid stability and better integration of intermittent renewable energies, Pump Turbines (PT) in Pump Storage Plants (PSP) are used in pump mode further away than their design point. In pump mode, the hump zone limits the operating range at part load (high head). The numerical prediction of the PT performances of this part-load instability is still challenging. In this study, Large Eddy Simulations (LES) are used to improve the prediction of the tandem cascade hump. Simulations on a full PT geometry are done for several operating points. An Arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) approach coupled with a Dynamic Mesh Adaptation (DMA) methodology is used to take into account the runner rotation. Moreover, a mesh convergence strategy is used to guarantee the accuracy of the mean field discretization, and to ensure the resolution of a sufficient part of the turbulent scales. Specific attention is paid to properly comparing simulations to experimental tests. Simulations results are in good agreement with experimental results obtained with platform tests made by General Electric Hydro Solutions. Part-load simulations predict (rotating or alternate) stalls in the tandem cascade. Moreover, it is shown that those stalls influence the flow in the runner where vortices, close to the trailing edges of the blades, are generated. This phenomenon generates losses and is responsible for the positive slope in the pump characteristic curve leading to unstable pump behavior. Scale Adaptative Simulations (SAS) are also used on the full PT geometry. The latter predict the same losses as LES except in the runner where they fail to predict the trailing edge vortices. Other LES simulations, on a simplified configuration, highlight parameters influencing tandem-cascade stalls. This study allows a new insight into part-load instability

Texto completoLiquid aerosols can constitute a significant part of atmospheric pollution or of air pollution in the workplaces and contamination in gases leaving compressors. The purpose of this PhD thesis is to improve the knowledge of fibrous filter performances during the its clogging by liquid aerosols. Filtration of liquid particles is different from solid particles one by the appearance of a drainage stage characterized by a constant pressure drop and a collected liquid flow. During this stage, hydrodynamic measures differ significantly from those obtained with solid particles. In fact, filter resistance decreases with gas velocity and filter mass efficiency is increased. Moreover, for particles smaller than 300 nm, a decrease in filtration efficiencies can be observed during the medium clogging and an increase for bigger particles. These results highlight the influence of interstitial velocities on inertial impaction and diffusion mechanisms. The study of hydrodynamic resistance during the drainage stage has shown that temporary interruptions of airflow induce a filter resistance increase because of a liquid distribution modification in the filter. On the contrary, when there is no more liquid particles in the airflow, a high gas velocity promotes drainage and consequently reduces the quantity of liquid trapped in the medium and the pressure drop. However, these conclusions must be qualified because increasing gas velocity induces a particle re-entrainment downstream of the filter, with all arisen consequences (health and environmental risks). Finally a numeric model is developed to observe the gradual evolution of pressure drop and filter efficiency during its clogging by a liquid aerosol. The area of low efficiency (Most Penetrating Particle Size), recurring in fibrous filters, and the temporal evolution of pressure drop are perfectly reproduced by this numerical modelling

Texto completoOur thesis does not deal with clinical depression but with the issue of loss within the psychic functioning of patients marked by a schizophrenic process. By issues of loss we mean all situations in which the patient has lost something, but also separation, depression, melancholy and grief. In order to examine the standard metapsychological function and to observe the articulations and entanglements existing between issues of loss and dissociative problems we surveyed the functions of loss associated with a personality that had lost its sense of confines and existence beyond the purely symptomatic aspect of depression. Our first hypothesis is that the more psychic functions are marked by a schizophrenic process inhabited by object representations, even if these representations are partial, persecuting, poorly differentiated or incestuous, the more the thought remains " alive " even if it is disorganised. A second hypothesis is that in schizophrenic patients there is no possibility of developing issues of loss. The presence of depressive elements can however signal a partial easing of psychotic defenses. A sub-hypothesis is that the recognition of the problem of loss is possible in dysthymic patients but that the treatment differs from that aimed at grief and melancholy. A third hypothesis centres around the existence of a melancholic process in some schizophrenics (dysthymia). To test these hypotheses we studied the psychic functioning of twenty patients diagnosed as " schizophrenic "according to CIM 10. This was based on projective mediation tests (Rorschach and TAT) looking at differences and invariables associated with the treatment of loss and depression. We demonstrated the specificity of psychic functioning for each schizophrenic in terms of relationships, emotions and sensations relating to the issue of loss. Our results demonstrate that the functioning of patients affected by schizophrenia, far from remaining focused on one object tends instead to defend itself from the influence of the object upon the ego. Behind a more delusional and hallucinatory appearance the mental functioning of patients with paranoid schizophrenia and dysthymia is more disorganised, but paradoxically " more alive ", more driven by representations of objects that appear as an outward expression of less deadly psychic functioning, this despite the noisier symptoms in the form of simple undifferentiated or hebephrenic schizophrenia. Our work shows that if problems and depressive effects can be seen they lead to different defensive treatments which are invariably underpinned by denials. The presence of isolated depressive effects does not lead to recognisable problems associated with loss for the patient. We therefore conclude that if schizophrenics recognise situations of loss then that cannot be the work of psychic integration. This impossibility depends on the intensity of the destructive schizophrenic process and the capacity to implement a narcissistic reinvestment in itself, even if only transitory, albeit with significant individual differences. Finally, if we examine the outlines of the melancholy movements within our participants, they cannot be carried through to the end because of the inconsistency of the object lost, its potentially persecuting character and the absence of self/non-self limits

Texto completoObesity is a major health problem in modern society and its causes and treatments are complex. Moreover, results to dietary treatment varies according to individual characteristics. In addition to some of the traditionally considered determinants of obesity, such as eating habits and physical activity, sleep disturbances have been suggested to impact body weight and response to dietary treatment. On one hand, short sleep duration and poor sleep quality appear to stimulate food intake and ultimately weight gain while it has also been suggested that respiratory sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), may lead to a less favorable metabolic profile for weight loss. The objective of this thesis is to examine the impact of dietary treatment combined with continuous positive airway pressure treatment for weight loss in obese male professional drivers with or without OSAS. Results suggest that this combined treatment improved anthropometric markers such as body weight and waist circumference. Participants with OSAS lost an average of 3.58 ± 1.6 kg of bodyweight and 3.61 ± 2.7 cm of waist circumference. Subjects without OSAS lost an average of 9.95 ± 10.3 kg of bodyweight and 9.5 ± 8.1 cm of waist circumference. However, this difference between the two groups was less marked when comparing the results with the reference cohort. Improvements in some quality of life markers such as daytime sleepiness and diurnal symptoms were more pronounced in individuals with OSAS (p<0.05). In conclusion, the dietary treatment of obesity, combined or not with continuous positive airway pressure ventilation, had a positive impact on body weight and waist circumference in obese participants with or without OSAS. In addition, the combined treatment significantly decreased some symptoms of OSAS.

Texto completoPre-contractual liability is derived from the transfer of the duty of the contracting parties to act in good faith from the contract performance phase to the contract formation phase. This transfer was carried out in Colombia by legislative action through the 1971 Commerce Code and in France, by jurisprudence. Nevertheless, the repressive nature of liability during contract formation is still interpreted as simply a reminiscence of delictual liability, at best, and as a marginal sanction for contractual liability, at worst. The goal of this study in comparative law is to find a criterion that confers autonomy and specificity to pre-contractual liability. Therefore, careful analysis by the author led to the discovery that those who insist on denying the existence of pre-contractual liability by linking it to delictual liability have based their argument on a chronological perspective taken from the old notion of contract, i.e., the time of execution. Furthermore, in their view, the absence of a contract justifies the application of the non-contractual liability regime. However, a comparison of the Colombian and French systems on this matter shows the fragility of the argument when faced with the large number of victims of defects of consent who, day after day, prefer indemnification of damages instead of a ruling of nullity of contract. This fragility is much more evident when judges order the indemnification of damages in well-formed contracts, due not to faults related to failure to meet any of the obligations that are derived from them, but to faults originating in the contract formation phase. In essence, finding common ground and discrepancies between the Colombian and French law systems regarding the contract formation phase and comparing them with the mutations of the good faith regime seem to actually contribute to consolidating pre-contractual liability as an autonomous institution
