Texto completoThree-dimensional characterization of flat ancient material objects has remained a challenging activity to accomplish by conventional X-ray tomography methods due to their anisotropic morphology and flattened geometry.To overcome the limitations of such methodologies, an imaging modality based on Compton scattering is studied in this work. Classical X-ray tomography treats Compton scattering data as noise in the image formation process, while in Compton scattering tomography the conditions are set such that Compton data become the principal image contrasting agent. Under these conditions, we are able to avoid relative rotations between the sample and the imaging setup. Mathematically this problem is addressed by means of the conical Radon transform. A model of the direct problem is presented where the output of the system is the spectral image obtained from an input object. The inverse problem is addressed to estimate the 3D distribution of the electronic density of the input object from the spectral image. The feasibility of this methodology is supported by numerical simulations

Texto completoThe thesis analyzes the opportunity of the historical and cultural heritage of the Epoch of the Colony to put it in value in Pachuca de Soto, incorporating it as an element of tourist attraction that allows knowing and enjoying it. The objective of the study was to analyze value, analyze the importance of historical events, identify patrimonial assets and define their tourism potential. From a qualitative perspective, tourists' guides, municipal authorities of the tourism and culture sector were asked to provide data on both tourist activity in the city and the care of the heritage, through different techniques: a) interviews with authorities and tourists in visits in Situ, b) consultation of database and state plans; To contextualize the theme of heritage and cultural tourism c) books, articles, publications, specialized magazines. The SWOT analysis allowed the creation of an inventory and patrimonial catalog, to diagnose the current situation of the patrimony and possibility of putting in value. The results of this study reveal that such heritage requires the immediate intervention of the state in terms of rescue, proper use and dissemination with collective, orderly, responsible and sustainable participation, based on a dynamic model of historical and cultural heritage. The research supports, among other implications, the need to raise awareness among the local population of the value of the heritage, to arouse the interest of the authorities to rescue and conserve it, with the contribution of the tourism sector, impacting the increase of the flow and stay of tourists. Limitations along the way: transition of state and municipal government, the veracity of the data provided by the authorities of the city, squeeze information from the subject studied and limited time to deepen the research.

Texto completoResearch has focused on the role of the arts in an inventory of educational practices through primary school, following the introduction of the teaching of Art History in 2008, and also considered the issue of social demand. The objective of the research was in first to identify teachers' practices in the field of arts education, and also to understand how this course contributes to the transmission of cultural heritage in schools. The research builds on both a survey of an academy, with teachers and parents, and on observations of teaching. In a first part, we observe how arts education was structured through legislative changes and influences that have led to its definition today. The official texts attest to a willingness to democratize art through the school system by teachers' practices. From the definition of arts education which is now based on the teaching of art history, cultural practices of class and artistic workshops, research has also examined the relationship between the teaching and the notion of cultural heritage. The second part focused on the cultural practices of families from a sample of parents, and social demand, that is to say, the expectations of parents toward school and tried to answer the question of the role of the educational institution in the transmission of cultural heritage and its implications in the context of a multicultural society. Thus, instead of arts education today seems to be unanimous among players, but the fight has moved to the grounds of the issue of equality. That's what mapping analysis (ArcGIS) helped bring to light. Finally, we reported on the teaching practices observed in the field observations. If this research has allowed one hand to identify the practices of teachers, resources and practices that they mobilize in their class, the lower bound or upper bound factors practices, on the other hand it will help identify actors interacting in the context of the observed object and for which we have developed for the purpose of analysis and reading the theory of educational stakeholders to develop a comprehensive approach to the object

Texto completoAlsace has been profoundly marked by the textile industry. For two centuries, its textile heritage has experienced numerous fluctuations, rising and falling according to the structural and cyclical growth rate of the economy and to industrial crises. Fluctuations that, though completely random and uncontrollable (strategies, even short-term, cannot be implemented), have occurred in a timely manner, thus giving rise to constantly changing unique cultural, scientific, technical and industrial landscape.It is thus only right to wonder how the memory of the development of this industrial fabric can be preserved in all its complexity? There are three possible means of preservation: material (retro-presence to neo presence concept), immaterial (concept of memo-retroconstruction) and virtual (concept of what is "areal", clearly promoting position take-up on material and immaterial concepts to be protected). Even if all these possibilities exist side by side, one problem remains unanswered, namely what is the outlook for the preservation of the textile heritage in Alsace? The literature on preservation of industrial heritage available since the 1970s tends to overlook the existing relationships of interdependence between these three modes of preservation. The shortage of results does not allow us to appraise the potential offered by proper management of a combination of these three modes of preservation. This research work thus aims to propose some possible schemes to define a new preservation model, based on the example of the textile industrial heritage in Alsace. The first part of this study explains the processes that have allowed the textile industry in Alsace to accede to heritage status some 200 years ago. Choices guided by discretionary powers, opposable preservation logics, discontinuity in course of action over short and long periods alike, reclaiming more often oriented by lections rather than of a scientific nature, opting-out of those with responsibilities, not to mention the lack of coherence between players and institutions: these are all factors that will guide a Region's preservation policy strategy. What state of affairs can be drawn up today by historical sources? What is the outlook for the future? The second part asks the same questions, but this time seeks for the answers based only on media sources. It questions the pertinence of the current textile heritage preservation processes, material, immaterial and virtual alike, but from a viewpoint different from and complementary to the first part, namely the viewpoint of journalists and public and political contributors. Do communication sciences offer heritage reservation new horizons? Yes they do, but that is not all they offer. We shall see that, far from being mere tool, they play a decisive role in the reconstruction of a heritage, grouping themselves to move with society in order to define it by using all the meanings accumulated in the semes relating to the textile industrial heritage. Through this they form a collective reference, formulating hypotheses for future transformation, adaptation and projections. We shall then see whether it is possible for them to play a role in heritage preservation.The third part highlights the convergences and divergences of the three preservation modes. lt suggest concrete solutions for Alsace, followed by transposable concepts to extend these new preservation processes to other regions in France and, why not, to other areas

Texto completoThe object of this research-action is the studies of functions a museum which can fill in Fès, classified city Worldwide Heritage by the UNESCO. The questions raised here are based on three facts :the general development of mass tourism and mass culture, the importance of publics in new museology, the influence of colonialism on creation and evolution of museums in Morocco. Supporting the hypothesis of the actual repetition of a missed encounter between local populations and museums during the period of the Protectorate, researches and actions were led during near twenty-five years in three museums of Fès : Batha, Borj and the Museum Nejjarine. The aims of these researches were to operate and to estimate which could be the means for engaging museums to be in connection with its material and human environment. From the approach followed, resulted an analysis of the importance of communication and mediation systems and settings, cultural and intercultural, in each museum. In this respect, the Nejjarine Museum, its unique situation inside the Medina, offered a long duration frame of research. The results show in which conditions and regarding which communication and mediation settings, the opening of the museum on its environment and the reconciliation of the local populations with the institution are made possible. These works open new perspectives of research and action on a new approach of the museum adapted to such traditional contexts as the city of Fès : the « musée éclaté », a network of thematic museums focused on the various « savoir-faire » and the professional corporations of Fès

Texto completoAt the beginning of our research in 2010, there was great interest in the advent of the digital era and its impact in the field of cultural heritage. In light of this and the increasingly numerous debates about it, we wondered what “digital phenomena” adds to (or detracts from) the cultural heritage experience. The change of support does not necessarily (rarely even) changes heritage mediation practices, therefore, for the purposes of this research, the term digital refers not to digital technology but the concept of “digital” as a social phenomenon with everything that this implies through speeches, imagination, practices and expectations. To move beyond the discussions about technology, we have chosen to study a limited number of fields (the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris and the Mont-Royal in Montreal) and opt for a socio-semiotic approach. This thesis shows that a same device, the interactive map, can offer multiple possibilities for cultural mediation, between documentary mediation and cultural mediation. It also calls into question a possible reconfiguration of the roles of mediator and visitor in the digital forum: far from upsetting the function and identity of heritage institutions, digital devices implemented in these two fields strengthen their legitimacy as cultural mediators

Texto completoCurrently, the protection work of intangible cultural heritage is booming. It is at the heart of attention of the media and society, and also academic research. Despite its long history, its promotion, admission and protection are recent. In this sense, the intangible heritage is still "young". As a new field and new object of research, the study involves many disciplines and safeguards require innovation and a bold research. Animation is one of the cultural industries more fashionable in China and most of the research on the animation focus on the development of the animation industry. This research considers the intangible cultural heritage as a cultural resource for animation, and explore the possible uses to promote the Chinese animation. We believe that in the contemporary cultural context, the animation is as a cultural industry that artistic entertainment and leisure, and a means of cultural transmission; it can also, by extension, be considered an employee visual imaging tool in the production and life of people. The animation is vibrant and rich in inspiration, naturally attractive, especially for young people. In a way, it is the common language of humanity. Animation must be an integral part of the protection of intangible cultural heritage; she is able to promote the heritage and transmission of intangible cultural heritage. Thus, this thesis proposes that we consider animation as a means of promoting the heritage and transmission of intangible cultural heritage. The transmission is the means, and the inheritance is the ultimate goal of protecting intangible cultural heritage. The thesis shows that animation can actually be entrusted with this mission. After the presentation of the research topic, we systematically discuss the subject through historical research, interdisciplinary research, document analysis, case analysis, field survey, etc., and dating back to foundations of existing research on the animation and intangible cultural heritage

Texto completoWhilst acknowledging the mutations induced by digital technologies within cultural institutions, this thesis proposes to analyse the impact of these technologies in the particular field of conservation and restoration of museum collections. This work assumes that the discipline of conservation-restoration, far from being neutral, builds our understanding and perception of the materiality of cultural heritage objects. As a result, this thesis aims at demonstrating how communication and information technologies, used within the field of conservation-restoration, have a crucial role in the development of that understanding and perception, and how they guide our cognitive and sensory relation to the materiality of cultural objects. Moreover, in the framework of digital humanities, this work also aims at studying how digital tools can adapt to conservation-restoration purposes on the one hand, while reconfiguring how we conceive the very notions of conservation, restoration, materiality, transmission and cultural heritage on the other hand. In this perspective, this thesis also deals with the way digital technologies contribute to the sharing of knowledge and to a new sensory apprehension of the materiality of cultural objects for a wider public than that of conservation-restoration specialists alone

In an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach, it is about getting into the processes of appropriation, mediation and transmission of cultural heritage considered as European in the specific framework of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. Based on a set of communicational and organisational analyses of the Program of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, but also of three cases of Cultural Routes (Via Regia, Via Francigena and Saint Martin of Tours), this works aims at comprehending the process of making heritage at a European level by questioning, among others, the meanings, the visibility and legibility plans, and the representation and legitimation strategies that are at stakes when members of transnational networks build a European sense of common heritage. Finally, it is also about understanding how, in the framework of the procedure of giving a label to European projects, publicizing heritage can be a place of resistance against institutions that can then influence the discourses about the heritage items

Texto completoBy occupying a privileged social space, traditional medicine and the diverses practices related to the field are less and less marginalized, more and more accepted as resources, thus society is gradually becoming more tolerant towards those practices. The social tolerance is relatively strong”. This perception of the present situation of traditional medicine and of its reception in society is proposed by M. Yoyo, French anthropologist and physician from Martinique. It speaks of the reality of traditional medicine in the west Indians context and highlights the positive affects on those who make use of it. The objective of this research is to explore the question of the transmission of medicinal knowledge within the confines of Martinique: transmission by traditionalists towards nonprofessionals as well as transmission among professionals in the fields of medicine. In other words, what learning, if any, still exists of this traditional knowledge faithfully kept by those practiced it? To what extent does the magical-religious experience influence the transmission of this knowledge? What is the role of the family in the education and the transmission of those practices? How much of this profane knowledge is accessible to all and to what extent is it practiced by families? Does the latter respond to the demands of traditional medicine? How do families proceed with the process of transmission. What contribution does the school make towards preserving this tradition ? The above questions provoke reflection on the medicinal practices of the people of Martinique and of the possible coexistence of traditional knowledge and modern or rational knowledge. These questions are inevitable if we want to progress with objectivity in the transmission of Creole medicine and of its preservation for future generations, as a form of safeguarding the memory of this therapeutic practice. However, they also help to focus on the level of its effectiveness and the potential importance that it represents in ensuring a healthy environment in the coming years

Texto completoO presente trabalho foi desenvolvido durante o Curso de Mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação Profissionalizante em Patrimônio Cultural da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar o cenário da Educação Patrimonial na rede de ensino fundamental de Santa Maria/RS para a partir dessa realidade, propor subsídios de orientação direcionados aos educadores para que aproximem as crianças e adolescentes do patrimônio local, mais precisamente do patrimônio documental do Arquivo Histórico do Município. O diálogo entre arquivo e escola é fundamental para despertar nos estudantes a importância de preservar o patrimônio de sua localidade, que não deixa de ser o seu próprio patrimônio. Partindo dessa premissa e do fato do Arquivo Histórico Municipal de Santa Maria ser frequentado por um número reduzido de estudantes do ensino fundamental, procurou-se investigar as causas desse distanciamento. O estudo constitui-se numa pesquisa de campo do tipo descritiva com uma abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Para investigar o cenário da Educação Patrimonial no município de Santa Maria utilizou-se do questionário, que foi encaminhado para cinquenta e oito escolas particulares, estaduais e municipais da região administrativa centro urbano e regiões limítrofes, mas apenas obteve-se retorno de vinte e uma escolas. Com a análise dos dados infere-se que a Educação Patrimonial está presente dentro da escola, mas que não é trabalhada a partir do acervo documental do Arquivo Histórico Municipal por desconhecimento dos educadores acerca dos serviços e possibilidades de pesquisa oferecidas pela unidade de informação. Desta forma, como os educadores são os multiplicadores de ações nas escolas, o Programa de Educação Patrimonial do Arquivo Histórico Municipal de Santa Maria partiu de ações direcionadas a eles, como o Encontro e o Guia de Orientação para Educadores.

Texto completoThis research work focuses on the digitization of cultural heritage in Korean National Museums by asking different types of devices that adapt to the current trend in the digital age by redefining a digital interpretation. In order to approach the particularity of digitization in a Korean context, we emphasis on a global view of the evolution of national museums as we analyze the application of digital technology in cultural institutions on one hand, the cultural interpretation’s actions carried out by two principles on the other hand: democratization of Culture in a large sense and Cultural Democracy in the context of cultural well-being and digital interpretation in Korean National Museums. In addition to these indispensable preliminary researches, we analyze digital devices provided by the National Museum of Korea, as well as the behavior of the Korean audience towards museum institutions, which has been 'rechargers' for years for most of it. Also, we study the new trend of digitization in Korean society: the establishment of the new concept of a Digital Museum consisting mainly of a database without any actual object, as well as the diffusion of the digital exhibition using mostly a digital media for exhibiting and reproducing a work of art. In this perspective, we evaluate the present state of the digitization of Korean Museums according to museum functions. This thesis provides the elements of reflection on digitization in order to develop museum’s digital interpretation as it uses a model that allows museum institutions to assess their state and utility of digitization according to their own situation

Texto completoThe Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers held a key role in the spreading of technical knowledge and innovation in railways during the 19th century. Between the 1820's and the late 1890's, the Conservatoire, in charge of supporting industrial development, was heavily involved in introducing the railway technologies in France and was a relay of innovation in this field. The study of the technical higher education at the Conservatoire, provided by leading personalities of the scientific and industrial world to an audience of workers, foremen and industrialists and the analysis of the collection of objects, models, drawings and photographs now preserved by the Musee des Arts et Metiers highlight in an original way the history of railways, from a multiple points of view that is construction and maintenance of infrastructure, locomotives and means of traction, rolling stock or operation and safety devices. The enquiry on the professors' social networks reminds us of the central position of the Conservatoire, where learned societies, industrial world and political sphere converged. Starting point of this research, the study of the collection required the development of a specific methodology to identify and interpret these items as sources. The contextualization of these collections together with the lessons of the Conservatoire and the history of railways allow us to make a contribution to the institution's history regarding both the higher education and the technical collections

Texto completoThe approach to cultural mediation in the Tunisian South-East evolves in this thesis through a specificdevice of a heritage nature: The Gsour. Our research develops along three stages. First a corpus ofrepresentative postcards illustrating the Gsourian architecture of these constructions has been collectedthen analyzed; such a semiotic oriented analysis sets the derelict, restored or distorted state of theseconstructions. Next comes the cognitive image based on the social representations of the same humangroup around the same heritage. In its third stage this study seeks to highlight the factors that play a rolein the intergenerational transmission of a culture built around the Gsour; an analytical approach of aqualitative type has been adopted for this purpose. Thus, the first two parts of the thesis have made itpossible to study the Gsour-related image, material on the one hand and cognitive on the other. Phasethree has been devoted to developing a communication strategy of a public and economic benefit from adesign angle, to bring forth the heritage value of such a space. The study of the material and immaterialaspects of this building – being a device of cultural mediation - has made it possible to establish that theyfacilitate the propagation of a system of values that is this region’s own. In short, texts and images arebeing manipulated within the same spatial framework– the Gsour, to highlight the value of a part of theTunisian heritage in the South-Eastern region of the country

Diante de tais expectativas, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo produzir um catálogo seletivo de fotografias, a ser publicado na internet, por meio da implementação de políticas arquivísticas de classificação (arranjo), descrição, conservação e difusão no acervo fotográfico do CHCP do período de 1955 a 1974, referente à atuação do Regimento de Polícia Rural Montada da Brigada Militar (RPRMont.). Para a sua realização foi adotada a abordagem de estudo de caso combinada com pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa documental, pesquisa de campo e observação direta, tendo em vista a necessidade de conhecer ampla e detalhadamente o contexto de criação das fotografias, foi importante estudar a história e as atividades das instituições Brigada Militar e 1º RPMon.; em especial, o período de 1955 a 1974 em que o 1º Regimento atuou como Polícia Rural Montada, assim como conhecer a realidade do acervo fotográfico do CHCP, a fim de propor o tratamento arquivístico apropriado a ser empregado. Como resultado, foi possível estabelecer uma metodologia de tratamento arquivístico para acervos fotográficos, em consonância com a teoria e normalizações da arquivologia, que propiciou a elaboração da versão eletrônica do Catálogo Seletivo de Fotografias Abas Largas: tropa de elite da Brigada Militar composto de 190 imagens fotográficas representativas da trajetória do 1º RPMon. como Regimento de Polícia Rural, o qual, a partir de então, ficou popularmente conhecido como Regimento Aba Larga .

Texto completoNowadays, Angkorian statues are world renowned. Their fame being triggered in the early 20th century with the birth of archaeology, the creation of museums and the implementation of conservation and restoration techniques in Cambodia. These practices and structures spread throughout the country during the establishment of the French protectorate. This culminated in the creation of an institution of scientific research: The Ecole Française d’Extrême-Orient (EFEO) and its dependent Conservation d’Angkor created in 1908. The sculptures found in the ruins of Angkor temples were initially brought together, creating a corpus of deposits, in which artifacts were placed into various collections within the country and abroad. Following decolonization, responsibility for the collections was returned to Cambodia. This hand over was underpinned by the legacy of institutions created under the French protectorate, in particular the National Museum. At the same time, Cambodia arranged the sustainability of EFEO work in Angkor. The Civil War that afflicted the country in the late 70’s brutally interrupted the development of national and French institutions for the management of Cambodian heritage. The struggle to emerge from this conflict furthered the wide spread looting of many precious artefacts. Cambodia had to find solutions to prevent this ongoing problem, and to retrieve its stolen artworks. The country received International help to support post-conflict reconstruction. This assistance also involved in the field of heritage management of Angkor and its sculptures, and the creation of new venues for their exhibition. The change in the political landscape of Cambodia throughout the 20th and early 21th century has heavily influenced the evolution of conservation, restoration, and diffusion practices applied to Angkorian statues

Texto completoThis thesis is aimed to deal with the sociology of expertise in the african mask cultural mediation. In Benin country, it is observable that museums and performing arts do not exhibit certain categories of masks including égoungoun and abikou, while they show some others, zangbéto and guèlèdè in this case. This arouses attention, insomuch as in Porto-Novo, a city where a plurality of masks’ sanctuaries is noticed, the ethnographic museum paradoxically uses drawings to present the égoungoun and the zangbéto which on the other hand, are physically seen in exhibitions in western countries. These masks belong to two large cultural areas (adja-tado and yorouba-nago) densely present in three west african countries : Benin, Nigeria and Togo. This geographic area, but especially southern and central Benin will serve as framework for our study. It attempts to understand the sociological constraints unfavorable to some forms of mask exposure in beninese territory and whether the concerned populations can adopt a noetic openness approach and dialogue with other cultures. By doing field surveys with varied public made up of intellectuals, dignitaries of mask societies, political and adminitrative officials, religious authorities, cultural mediators, ritual traditions insiders and ordinary people that we deem, representative of the population to reveal the true faces of current popular beliefs, we hope we’ll provide social sciences with a first definition and classification of means to popularize the african mask, in a globalizing world cultural environment

Texto completoCurrently, there is the problem of uprooting in the third and fourth generation of Peruvians descendents from Japanese immigrants, the Nikkei. This uprooting present in this migrant culture is the result of the historical and sociocultural factors that the first Japanese immigrants who arrived to Peru went through between the 19th and 20th centuries. As well as the influence of the receiving culture (Peruvian culture) over the years. This research aims to identify which communication strategies have influenced in the development of the Peruvian-Japanese communities in Lima, in terms of transmitting and spreading information and their culture through the next Nikkei generations. In addition, it analyzes which communication strategies are used to capture the attention of the third and fourth generation of Nikkei. For this purpose, an interpretative methodology with a mixed methodological strategy is proposed which consist of surveys and semi-structured interviews for the different profiles of descendants: adult representatives of the Nikkei community, participating young Nikkei and uprooted young descendants. The importance of this study is found in the analysis of the use of communication tools for the continuance of the immigrant culture and the transcendence of new values and a new identity to the next Nikkei generations which can serve to develop new communication plans against uprooting. Furthermore, the results can serve as references for other communities in a similar situation.

Texto completoThe concept of urban identity feeds from many meetings where enquiring, politicking and media wonder about our feeling of citizenship, membership of the place, and on their contribution to a better collective life. Thus it is communal belfries of the North of France, identity symbols, asserted by a whole area, to which this thesis is devoted. We carry out a mediationnal and communication analysis of these turns, in the intention of clarifying the devices set up for their valorization. We devote a first chapter to the historical and space context, the awakening of occident in the XIIth century. We explain thus how this public architecture always affirmed itself as the expression of a whole society, of a time, of places.The plural dimension of these public buildings seemed to us to justify the relevance of an interdisciplinary approach. We thus convene in a second chapter several disciplines, philosophical, phenomenologic and sociohistoric. However, the problems of the "semantic investment" of identity places encouraged us with a "semiotic mediation". The finality is to highlight the meaning values of these architectural achievements, and to wonder, in the third time, about the contribution of the belfry to the creation of the urban identity of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais area of which it became an iconic symbol. Problems justifying a last part devoted to the various mediations whose belfries were, and are always the object and who influence our glance, with the work of memory. We formalize in conclusion of the answers validated by our model of analysis, our ambition being of in the long term being able to make it exploitable, in the form of assistance with the design and the implementation of informational and mediationnal devices

Texto completoDigital technologies allow the preservation of heritage traces from witnesses of the past. Safeguarding an intangible heritage responds to various concerns, including that of allowing a mediation with the public. How can we ensure that such digital traces, staged with the help of instrumented or hybrid mediation devices, preserve the authenticity and strength of the initial testimony? Which mediations can allow the public to connect with content proposed to them? Is technological innovation always a guarantee of quality visitor experience? What is the place and function of emotions in their federating-links to witnesses of the past? The central question of the thesis can thus be formulated as follows: When considering an endangered intangible heritage, what solutions can enhance visitor experience? To answer these questions, an enactionist constructivist epistemology is mobilised along with survey methods, such as stimulated recall interviews (REMIND), are implemented. This theoretical and methodological framework provides access to visitor experience in its 12 cognitive, corporal and emotional dimensions. Developed primarily in the context of the memory of mining, the main results of this thesis identify the possibility of an experiential grammar of mediation devices. They underline the importance of the human facilitator in hybrid mediations. Finally, they open research perspectives regarding the technological conditions and the legal status of the digital witness, i.e. conditions that transform a living witness into a Grand Digital Witness

Texto completoDespite a relatively short history, children’s literature has already his classics: a certain number of editorial works constitutes a patrimony which remains vivacious and continues to be read by new generations who nourish and inspire more contemporary productions. The concept “patrimony” has therefore pertinence and a particular definition in the domain of“children’s literature”. That is what is explored from a crossed study of two literary works, one French and the other Persian, which have in common humor and statement in the first person singular: The Little Nicolas of Rene Goscinny and The Adventures of Majid of Houshang Moradi-Kermani. These patrimonial works are considered from a triple point of view: that of their national reception, their broadcasting and their commercial exploitation; that of their aesthetical intrinsic value; that of their reception in different cultures through translation and therefore by their uniqueness and universality.This qualitative research emphasize on French and Persian sources and on a deep study of questionnaires meant to readers and based on the corpus of the two works and their translations. Texto completoThis thesis analyzes several aspects of the relationship between the recording industry and the tango in the 1920s. If the question of identity is studied from the discourses of that time such as advertising, catalogs and newspaper articles, the interpretive dimension of tango is also analyzed and placed in relation to this new form of production, circulation and consumption of music that involve the record. We consider that the music industry contributed to the construction of national identity in conflict in Argentina which makes clear the political dimension of the activity. At the same time, the marketing of tango's record in France anticipates a circulation's model of cultural goods outside their original context that the record device favored and whose ultimate expression is the world music. We analyze the impact of technological changes in music performance by studying the relationship between the appearance of the microphone and the practice of "estribillista" in the typical orchestra. Also the tango's interpretations are placed in the context of the fashion world of dance for understanding the influence that may have the need to record versions more easily to dance for consumption promoted for this purpose. We investigate the new working conditions of tango musicians emerged with the mass of the records, both by the competition between live music and the mechanically reproduced as for new working relationships and the logic of the star system that began with the recording industry and has in Carlos Gardel one of the main representatives

Texto completoThis thesis assumes that legal analysis should enlighten the global meaning of cultural actions of the State. Beyond the wide variety of objects concerned, rules composing law oncultural activities of public authorities show common features. Their review shows that principles they follow draw the outlines of a figure: the one of the cultural State. The demonstration is organized in two phases. It is first shown what legal mechanisms are concerned when conventional means of cultural interventions of the State are focused tostrengthen national cohesion: the State produces institutions in order to link people withculture and unite around it. In the same time, it protects the property and agents necessaryto assure these institutions in the long term. It is then shown that the State reforms and cultural law changes did not really bend the initial logic: the legal forms of action are certainly more nuanced, but they change the State culture more than they challenge it

Texto completoThis transdisciplinary thesis is part of the Centre François Viète (EA 1161) laboratory’s program“Comparative history of port cultural landscapes anddigital humanities,” which is at the border between the fields of heritage, the history of science and technology, and digital humanities.The first objective is to establish and compare the evolution cycles and the industrial cultural practices of both arsenals (Brest and Venice) from a scientific and technological point of view through the study of specific indicators such as industrial production unitsand cranes, based on the ANY-ARTEFACT history metamodel. The second objective is the construction and validation of new digital humanities methods for the conservation and valorisation of industrial heritage and its associated activity. 1) A production chain involving work in knowledge engineering and in virtual reality, 2) An intelligent virtual environment (IVE) called Lab in Virtuo for the construction of scenarios for cultural mediation. This IVE is based on the coupling of two metamodels dedicated to the activity in question: the ANYARTEFACT-O and the MASCARET ontologies. A specialised ontology dedicated to forges has also been developed.The work on virtual reality has led to the development of an IVE that allows the carrying out of activities and the transmission of knowledge within virtual environments based on forges.The synthesis of this work is reflected in the creation of a methodological guide for researches andacademic or territorial actors

Texto completoOur thesis in science education explore the potentiality of contemporary scientific objects to become objects of heritage through a study case: the Cockcroft-Walton particle accelerator (CW). We call it “patrimonialisation” (the making of heritage) according to Information and Communication Sciences. We assume that the value of contemporary scientific objects, an important stage of the patrimonialisation, is specific and requires a particular expertise. Our work was realized thanks to a french financing facility, allowing us to work with Le musée des Confluences in Lyon (France), which exposes a particle accelerator CW in Societies: the human theater. The Institute of Lyon Nuclear physics (IPNL) also possesses a device of this type, who is the focus of a recognition project. sing a multidisciplinary approach, our analysis begin with a study of historical, epistemological, social and scientific context, of the first one CW. We also led two inquiries, the first one to redraw the accelerator CW trajectory in Lyon, the second to find all the accelerators CW in the world. Several studies have indeed highlighted the stages of the patrimonialisation. Relying on these studies we characterized the specificities of the contemporary scientific heritage, and looked for tracks left by these characteristics in the exhibition text (museography). Our results demonstrate the lack of information allowing the interpretation (lecture) and the appropriation of the accelerator CW by a public, and invite us to question the representational contents of the object, conveyed through other contexts of use, formal or fictional

Texto completoWithin the framework of this research project, we explore the possibilities of making use of information technologies to enhance the architectural designer's cognitive abilities. More precisely, we examine the possibilities of enabling the designer to become more knowledgeable about architectural heritage. We took an interest in this topic because it appears essential to explore new ways of conveying the intellectual values connected with the built heritage. In this regard, we hope to contribute towards the renewal of methods of the formalization and dissemination of the knowledge inherent in buildings and artefacts of historical interest. On the one hand, we take an interest in the knowledge construction process that induces the architectural historian to unfold a reasoning so as to organize his/her interpretation of a built environment. We study one of the strategies employed by the historian in tackling the problem of establishing connections between artefacts of a single family; that is, when proceeding to elaborate a typology. We intend to contribute to the development of a vehicle for knowledge that is sufficiently flexible to be adaptable to iterative changes in the interpretation provided by the historian, so as to prevent the eventual crystallization of the conclusions drawn from his/her study of the built environment. We also turn our attention to the knowledge reconstruction process undertaken by the learner, in this case the architectural designer. We aim to place at the designer’s disposal tools that enable him/her to apprehend the knowledge developed by the historian. In this regard, we explore the possibilities of implementing heuristic tools based on the learner’s action. In short, we strive to evaluate and understand to what extent and in which ways information technologies could make a difference in the knowledge construction process undertaken by the architectural historian, and in the knowledge reconstruction process undertaken by the learner. In what way could these processes take place in a dynamic and iterative way? Within the framework of this reflection on the possible uses of information technologies, we formulate the following hypothesis: we argue that the eventual complementarity likely to develop between a conceptual model and a generative system would enhance the methods by which the researcher, working on built heritage, could convey his/her message to the architectural designer. To assess the validity of our theory, we conduct a set of experiments. Our approach is exemplified by two case studies dealing with the works of historians who established typologies of roof frames constructed in the north of France and in Belgium between the 11th and 19th centuries, and of 12th and 13th century gothic rose windows crafted in the Île-de-France. We then proceed to the implementation of interactive digital environments. The usefulness of these environments, as much within the historian’s thought process as within the learner’s, is evaluated via qualitative methods. Based on the conclusions drawn from these case studies, we propose a theoretical model that establishes a connexion between architectural history, cognition and information technologies. In undertaking these experiments and the subsequent theorizing, we aim to shed new light on the synergy likely to take place between the architectural historian and the computer scientist. At the conclusion of this process, which brought us from the terms of reference to the hypothesis and experiments, we place the present study in a larger context and open up new avenues of investigation that highlight the importance, for the architectural designer, of being knowledgeable about the built heritage and of making use of this knowledge in a conscious and articulated way. The details of this research project are likely to be of interest to any person working in the broad field of architectural history, as well as architectural designers concerned with obtaining a better knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the heritage handed down from his/her predecessors.
