Resumen
In the context of transportation, the passenger loyalty is a measurement of the level of passenger’s willingness to use a similar public transport. The goal of this study is to examines and identifies factors that influencing passenger loyalty. Three factors such as satisfaction, service value, services quality was predicted as an influential factor towards passengers’ loyalty. The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) for Sungai Buloh to Kajang (SBK) line in Kuala Lumpur conurbation was used as a case study and 555 respondents have contributed to this study. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to investigate the relationship between service quality, service value, passenger satisfaction and passenger loyalty. Satisfaction has the most significant influence on passenger loyalty. Service value has direct and positive effects on passenger loyalty. This study also found the service quality has significant indirect effect on the passenger loyalty via service value and passenger satisfaction. The structural model for investigating the loyalty of MRT-SBK users to this service has been analysed and tested using the service quality, satisfaction and quality value showed 75% positive change for all variables. These models recorded average errors and absolute index evaluation in accepted criteria of ≤ 0.09 and ≥ 0.94 respectively. The study reveals that MRT-SBK passengers’ loyalty is significantly influenced by service attributes, such as vehicle safety, convenience, punctuality, comfort, cleanliness of the facility provided. This study helps MRT service provider to optimize resource to enhance user’s satisfaction and therefore, increase the passenger loyalty

Resumen
An urban rail transit (URT) system is operated according to relatively punctual schedule, which is one of the most important constraints for a URT passenger’s travel. Thus, it is the key to estimate passengers’ train choices based on which passenger route choices as well as flow distribution on the URT network can be deduced. In this paper we propose a methodology that can estimate individual passenger’s train choices with real timetable and automatic fare collection (AFC) data. First, we formulate the addressed problem using Manski’s paradigm on modelling choice. Then, an integrated framework for estimating individual passenger’s train choices is developed through a data-driven approach. The approach links each passenger trip to the most feasible train itinerary. Initial case study on Shanghai metro shows that the proposed approach works well and can be further used for deducing other important operational indicators like route choices, passenger flows on section, load factor of train, and so forth.

Resumen
Passenger choice behaviour of buying tickets has a great impact on the high-speed rail (HSR) revenue management. It is very critical to find out the sensitive factors that prevent passengers with high willingness to pay for a ticket from buying low-price tickets. The literature on passenger choice behaviour mainly focuses on travel mode choice, choice between a conventional train and a high-speed train and choice among high-speed trains. To extend the literature and serve revenue management, this paper investigates passenger choice behaviour of buying high-speed railway tickets. The data were collected by the stated preference (SP) survey based on Beijing-Hohhot high-speed railway. The conditional logit model was established to analyse influencing factors for business travel and non-business travel. The results show that: business passengers have the higher inherent preference for full-price tickets, while non-business passengers have the higher inherent preference for discount tickets; the number of days booked in advance and frequent passenger points have a significant impact on the ticket choice of business travellers, but not on non-business travellers; passengers are unwilling to buy tickets that depart after 16:00 for non-business travel; factors have different effects on the passengers' choice in business travel and non-business travel. The results can provide parameters for revenue management models and references for the ticket-product design.

Resumen
The level of service is an important aspect of the operation and management at a railway passenger station. Particularly, the level of service in waiting room (LOSWR) is one of the most important influential factors in deciding passengers’ satisfaction. This paper proposes a model for finding the LOSWR based on the maximum number of passengers, and an Arena simulation model that simulates passengers’ aggregation behaviors in the waiting room is presented for analyzing the LOSWR. Through the simulation, we demonstrate how the passenger advanced arrival time and the accompany rate influence the maximum number of passengers and the LOSWR. In addition, the simulation also illustrates the effect utilities and the priority of different measures that can be used to improve the LOSWR. In detail, the simulation results demonstrate that the passenger advanced arrival time and advanced check-out time have much stronger effect utilities on the maximum number of passengers and the LOSWR than other discussed factors. The simulation suggests that the Arena is an effective simulation platform for analyzing complex passengers-related behaviors at railway passenger station.

Resumen
Under the condition that ticket fare for high-speed train could fluctuate around a benchmark price in China, aimed at predicting how the passengers will distribute among different trains given a ticket fare, the passenger flow assignment method for high-speed trains is studied. Different from the classical researches on the passenger flow assignment, by introducing a variable that represents the value of time, this research allows passengers to make their personalized choice between the principles of time minimization and expense minimization, so as to demonstrate how the passengers holding different time values respond to each ticket fare scheme. An equilibrium passenger flow assignment model based on personalized choice is built and an improved Monte-Carlo random simulation algorithm is designed for solving the model. The actual ticket sale data for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway are used to verify the feasibility of the proposed model and algorithm. The passenger flow assignment results under various fare schemes show how the distribution of passenger flow changes with the adjustment of ticket fare.

Resumen
A macroscopic passenger flow simulation model based on system dynamics is proposed in this paper. It considers the key factors influencing the dynamics of passenger flow from a holistic perspective of the stations and then models the dynamic change in the number of passengers. Firstly, the transmission of passenger flow for a general many-to-many relation between nodes are presented. When the sum of sending capacities heading for a downstream node is less than the receiving capacity of this node, the aggregation of stranded passengers will form the queuing part of the node. The results coming from a passenger flow simulation of a subway station in Beijing show that the proposed model performs well by comparing it with the real data. It can be applied to describe the dynamic change in the number of passengers and the level of service for the facilities.

Safety of passengers on ships is usually investigated based on data available from post-accident reports, experimental research and/or numerical modelling of emergencies. As for the numerical modelling, ship passenger evacuation falls within a greater set of pedestrian evacuation research in which extended reality (XR) technology is playing important role lately. However, XR still strives to find its place in the modelling of ship passenger evacuation. This paper brings review of literature published on the topic of XR in pedestrian evacuation with special focus on the use of these technologies (e.g. virtual reality, augmented reality) in shipping industry. Findings are put in the context of IMO’s guidelines for evacuation analysis and prospect for use of XR for ship passenger evacuation simulation are presented.

The passenger transport demands at a given junction station fluctuate obviously in different time periods, which makes the rail departments unable to establish an even train operation schedule. This paper considers an optimization problem for train operations at the junction station in passenger dedicated lines. A satisfaction function of passengers is constructed by means of analyzing the satisfaction characteristics and correlative influencing factors. Through discussing the passengers’ travel choice behavior, we formulate an optimization model based on maximum passenger satisfaction for the junction and then design a heuristic algorithm. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the application of the method proposed in this paper.

Resumen
Modelling passenger flows within a transport interchange is a compromise between computational speed and accuracy, especially if the model is to be embedded within an optimization procedure for managing the effects of disrupted traffic. Petri nets offer the possibility of the standardized representation of a concurrent dynamic system. Such a representation consists of a network formed by places that are linked together by arcs and transitions, and tokens that move around in this network. Using coloured Petri nets (CPNs) allows information to be associated with each token, such as the number of passengers represented by the token, the destinations of subgroups of those passengers and data related to measures such as accumulated passenger transit times. Practicalities such as the variation of walking speeds between passengers and the restricted capacity of features of the interchange infrastructure, such as escalators, can also be incorporated. Furthermore, the model is capable of being extended to represent the transport services themselves, at least within a reasonable area outside the interchange.

Resumen
It is of great importance to optimize the schemes of long through-type bus lines to adapt to the urban rail transit network. Focusing on the long through-type bus lines close to metro stations, a bilevel programming model on the adjustment schemes of bus lines is proposed, taking the impacts of urban rail transit network into account. The upper level model aims at adjusting the setting decisions of stop stations and vehicle headways of bus lines to minimize the passenger travel cost and maximize the benefits of bus operators. The lower level model is a passenger flow assignment model based on Logit-SUE considering the crowding perception of passengers in bus vehicles. Moreover, the constraint of average load factor of the bus line sections is considered. Then the genetic algorithm is applied to solve the proposed model, and a numerical example is conducted to verify the effectiveness. Results show that the value of the objective function of the model is improved by 27.2%, in comparison with the original scheme. Even though the average travel cost of passengers increases slightly, the bus line operation cost and the imbalance degree of load factors are reduced by 46.1% and 18.6%, respectively. The sensitivity analyses show that it is better to divide the long through-type bus line into several separate bus lines with independent operation, respectively, under the condition of unbalanced passenger flow distribution. Meanwhile, the multiple bus lines are more adapted to the unbalanced passenger flow distribution when the weight of the benefits of the bus operators in the total objective function is bigger. Besides, the lower time value that the passengers perceive, the more passengers willing to take bus than metro trains. As the increment of the passenger time value, the combination of feeder bus lines and a longer bus line is better for passengers’ trip demand than the long through-type bus line.

Resumen
This research aims to know and analyze the direct and indirect impacts of service quality and ticket price policy on trust and also its impact on the passenger loyalty of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train, Cengkareng, Indonesia. The main problems are that the service quality provided by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train is not maximal and that the ticket price of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train is relatively expensive because the passengers still have to use another transportation mode to go to the station. This research uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modelling, assisted by the Lisrel program with a sample of as many as 150 passengers. The results of this research prove that service quality and ticket price policy have both direct and indirect impacts on passenger loyalty through the mediation of passenger trust. The key finding is that the policymakers can take advantage of the findings of this research, especially the crucial aspects in the questionnaires on service quality and ticket price policy which are considered not optimal by the passengers of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train. So, passenger loyalty can be enhanced through the improvement of service quality and ticket price policy supported by passenger trust.

The passenger travel demands for intercity rail lines fluctuate obviously during different time periods, which makes the rail departments unable to establish an even train operation scheme. This paper considers an optimization problem for train operations which respond to passenger travel demands of different periods in intercity rail lines. A satisfactory function of passenger travelling is proposed by means of analyzing the passengers’ travel choice behavior and correlative influencing factors. On this basis, the paper formulates a bilevel programming model which maximizes interests of railway enterprises and travelling satisfaction of each passenger. The trains operation in different periods can be optimized through upper layer planning of the model, while considering the passenger flow distribution problem based on the Wardrop user equilibrium principle in the lower layer planning. As regards the ticket allotment issue of the intercity passenger corridor designed for different train grades, the matching relationship between the ticket allotment and the passenger flow demand is studied. The passenger flow conversion equation which is based on the collaborative optimization of the intercity train stop schedule plan and ticket allotment is established. Then the mathematical model aiming at the maximum revenue of intercity train system and the highest satisfaction from the passengers is established. The particle swarm harmony search algorithm is designed to solve the model. The example verifies the effectiveness of the model and algorithm, which indicates that, through the collaborative optimization of the stop schedule plan and ticket allotment for different grades intercity trains, the sectional utilization rate of the train can be improved; meanwhile, the optimum matching between the intercity train revenue and the passenger satisfaction can be realized.

The airport passenger flow process is an integrated system in which passengers interact with multiple components of the system, and a failure in one component can cause greater disruption in others because of time-related constraints. Airport operators analyse and decide the results by using decision support systems under the airport management strategies by determining the potential congestion and related problems such as capacity limitations or equipment malfunctions. In this study, airport systems handle the passenger flow that covers all activities between the airport entrance and boarding. Discrete event simulation was used to assess the passenger flow and performing the activities in the related processes. The model comprises security screening, check-in, passport control and boarding processes. Within the proposed model, points with potential bottlenecks in Hasan Polatkan Airport have estimated according to International Air Transport Association (IATA) performance values.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is a gateway to Thailand and Asia. It attracts inbound-, outbound- and transit passengers. The objectives of this study were to develop an airport service quality, image and perceived value framework for the loyalty of passengers and to study the direct, indirect and total effects of the factors that influence the loyalty of passengers who used the service at Suvarnabhumi Airport. This quantitative research method uses the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data from 400 passenger samples. According to the Structural Equation Modelling analysis, airport service quality, image and perceived value have had a positive effect on loyalty that airport service quality mainly has an impact on passenger loyalty. There are four latent dimensions of airport service quality, namely, essential services; comfort, convenience and enjoyment; security, customs and passport control; and special facilities, that can help develop loyalty. Perceived value and image on airport administration and management had a significant direct effect to passenger loyalty. Improving these facotrs in order to attract passenger interest and attention can lead to the development of airport organization performance, and to increase competitiveness as an aviation hub in this region.

Resumen
The use of disaggregate models in modelling intercity passengers mode choice behaviour has emerged over the past 20 years. In an attempt to encourage this use, the present paper addresses the advantages and disadvantages of the disaggregate approach as opposed to the conventional aggregate techniques. The results of a literature review in this regard indicate that disaggregation is statistically and behaviourally necessary to model human travel behaviour while being sensitive in selecting the unit of analysis. The paper also compares the logit analysis with other modelling techniques available for application in order to identify the most suitable one. A critical review of previous modelling efforts in the U.S. and Canada, based on the disaggregate logit analysis is presented to demonstrate the applicability of this technique to modelling intercity passengers mode choice behaviour. Some modelling drawbacks and the general findings of the studies are emphasized to provide useful insight for future modelling considerations. Resumen
Policy makers and service providers must have a good understanding of the determinants of passengers’ satisfaction with light rail transit (LRT) in order to be able to formulate effective strategies that ensure passenger satisfaction, which would in turn help to retain existing passengers and attract new ones. This is seen as the most important determinant of the long-term financial performance of LRT service. In this context, the present study seeks to establish the influence of passenger expectation, perceived quality and perceived value on their satisfaction with the service provided. A total of 417 responses from a self-administrated questionnaire were collected from LRT passengers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The proposed model was tested using a structural equation model. The results proved the significant and direct effect of perceived quality and perceived value on passenger satisfaction. Of the factors, perceived quality is the most critical construct determining the satisfaction level of LRT passengers. The present study concludes by deriving the theoretical and managerial implications on the field of transport. This study provides beneficial information which helps service providers, authorities, policy makers, planners, and researchers formulate effective strategies to increase the use of LRT service, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and other alpha and metropolitan cities in general.

Resumen
Modelling the dynamic performance of an elevator car system represents a complex task and forms an important step in the elevator system design procedure. The need to consider the behaviour of passengers travelling in the car complicates the procedure further. This paper presents an original approach to identify the stiffness and damping characteristics of an elevator car system. A simplified model is developed and the experimental rig with a rectangular elevator platform fixed on the top of four silent blocks attached to a shaker is setup. The transmissibility measurements are carried out with a harmonic excitation applied first to a platform with no passenger load and then to the platform with one passenger within the frequency range of 1 – 20 Hz. A single person standing on the platform is employed in order to assess the passenger’s contribution to the dynamic behaviour of the elevator car system. The curve fitting technique implemented in MATLAB is used to determine the damping and stiffness coefficients both for the empty car system and the car-passenger system. Investigation on the tolerances for both parameters is carried out. An approach to simplify the experimental procedure and to reduce the number of individual tests is proposed.

Through the increasing number of airlines and the rivalry between them, especially low-cost carriers have started to give transportation service with cheaper ticket prices. According to The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) estimates, the number of passengers travelling with airlines around the world will reach to 3.8 billion passengers in 2020 and low-cost carriers’ flight networks and numbers especially in developing countries as Turkey will continue to gain momentum. When considering the increased passenger traffic in Turkish travel industry, providing the passenger loyalty for Turkish low-cost carriers has also become obligatory for these companies’ survival in the longrun. In this study, determinants of passengers’ loyalty as perceived value and trust have been searched. For this purpose, 350 questionnaires were applied to the passengers travelling with low-cost carriers at Hatay and Adana Airports in Turkey, 311 of which were analyzed after eliminating invalid ones. Structural equation modelling was applied for data analysis. According to the analysis results, perceived value and trust were identified as the important determinants of passenger loyalty.

Resumen
The origin-destination trip matrix is a fundamental characteristic of a transport network, and development of a reliable correspondence matrix is the most important task in organising passenger traffic. It is the basis on which the public transport route network of a city (region) is built and optimised.Currently, collection of initial information for construction of a travel correspondence matrix is carried out through field surveys comprising questionnaire surveys of the population; accounting for movement of passengers according to the coupons issued to them; checkers, tellers manually counting passengers in vehicle compartments; simple surveys of passengers. Besides, mathematical modelling is used based on statistical data on the number of residents in various districts of the city, employees in enterprises and students in educational institutions, as well as on available data on the characteristics of passenger traffic along certain routes. All these surveys are very expensive and are carried out once over few years; they give a large error, which is why decisions made on the basis of these data are far from being optimal. There are a lot of solutions in the software and hardware market that provide automated collection of data on passenger flows. They are based on the use of infrared sensors or of video recording. However, none of these systems provide information about the points of entry and exit of each passenger. The objective of this study was to develop methods for automating the collection of reliable information about passenger trips, that will be the base for building up-to-date and reliable passenger trip correspondence matrices. This task can be solved by constant monitoring of passengers’ trips with fixing places of entry and exit of each passenger. The study describes the possibility of creating software based on computer vision and artificial intelligence which will provide automation of collection of primary information about travel of each passenger from the place of boarding into the vehicle to exit from it, that is, automation of data generation to build a passenger trip correspondence matrix.

Resumen
In order to optimize the passenger train working diagram and improve the passenger satisfaction towards a coordinated optimization problem of departure time domains of multiple passenger trains at a station, the optimization model is designed to maximize the overall passenger travel satisfaction based on the quantification of the level of passenger travel satisfaction. The simulated annealing algorithm is then used to solve the model. Finally, 23 pairs of passenger trains from Chengdu Railway Station are selected as examples to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm. The result shows that the model and algorithm proposed in this paper can realize the coordinated optimization of the departure time of multiple trains at a station while considering the passengers’ travel satisfaction, which can provide an effective reference for the compilation of passenger train working diagram.

Resumen
This analysis is dedicated to find out methods for setting of route networks where new aircraft can be effectively put into service. The conception of this analysis is based on the idea of so called connectivity principle for airports connected by passenger traffic with each other. For the passenger traffic analysis the author took passenger traffic data by federal districts starting from the Far East. Then consequently the data for Siberian, Ural, Wolga, Northwestern, Central, Southern and North Caucasian federal districts were analyzed. Passenger traffic to the Crimea was treated separately. Detailed specifications of passenger traffics were provided in order to determine the connections between airports both within federal districts and beyond them and with neighboring areas in western direction. Query of routes was done based on limitations for non-stop flight range and on minimum and maximum (for significant traffics) flight frequencies. The analysis approach lets us concentrate attention on those airlines which at best fit for putting into service of chosen aircraft. Also this method permits to determine the routes with currently insufficient or low traffics but where there’s a definite growth potential. When analysis data are combined with traffic data and tariffs, then it becomes possible to determine the most profitable routes for introduction of new aircraft. Traffic volume, actual figures and forecast, consolidated characteristics of chosen airlines, list of airlines for further studies of efficiency and competitiveness of introduced aircraft are determined.

Resumen
Introduction. A distinctive feature of working conditions in the Arctic territories is the long period of exposure to low temperatures. Passenger transportation by road is becoming one of the key aspects of ensuring the continuity of the production process. The task of delivering workers to the place of work, moving them between work zones during a work shift is solved by using wheeled vehicles of various categories. One of the most widespread types of wheeled vehicles used to transport workers is the M3 category wheeled vehicles with a capacity of no more than 22 passengers. Ensuring the thermal comfort of vehicle passengers seems to be relevant, since ensuring biophysical compatibility minimizes the risks of cold injury by workers and maintains a high level of performance.Materials and methods. The results of the analysis of the Russian and foreign studies in the direction of ensuring thermal comfort and ensuring biophysical compatibility in confined spaces are presented. The results of computer modelling of the dynamics of microclimate parameters in the passenger cabin of a wheeled vehicle of M3 category with a capacity of no more than 22 passengers are presented.Results. The paper presents the results of theoretical studies, microclimate parameters in the passenger compartment of vehicles, taking into account the breathing of passengers and changes in the gas composition of exhaled air. Theoretical studies of the operation of the heating system of the passenger compartment were carried out, taking into account the refined breathing model of passengers. Distributions of microclimate parameters in the section of the passengercompartment were obtained when using a heating system with one heater; the impact of passengers’ breathing on the parameters of the microclimate in the passenger compartment was assessed.Discussion and conclusion. Based on the numerical solution of the system of heat transfer equations, directions for further research and recommendations are formulated to ensure thermal comfort in the passenger compartment of a wheeled vehicle at low temperatures. The materials of the work may be of interest to specialists involved in the design and ergonomics of wheeled vehicles, labor protection.

Resumen
The boarding efficiency is essential for all airlines due to potential competitive financial pressure. Therefore, the turnaround time needs to be cut down for a shorter boarding time. The paper devised a feasible boarding strategy which combines the management mode decision of passenger boarding with the intelligent deployment of the operation process and will be likely to improve the efficiency of the passenger travel chain. Among which, to decrease the boarding time is an effective method. Firstly, we proposed an improved outside-in strategy, which costs shorter boarding time based on the existing outside-in strategy. However, this method requires passengers to stand in queue in advance. Secondly, we put forward a deterministic queue-ordered boarding method to improve it. Finally, we simulated and applied the strategy to a narrow-body aircraft A320 and a wide-body A380, both representative for their type of airplanes. It turns out that this strategy performs better than the current widely used method and will be able to increase boarding efficiency and thus maximize the profits of airlines.

Resumen
The apron of the Roll-on/Roll-off/Passenger (Ro-Pax) terminal is an accident-prone zone with high risk of traffic congestion and vehicle exhaust pollution in the peak season, which brings a bad experience to passengers and even endangers passengers’ health. This study aims to improve the passenger service quality in the peak season by rezoning the Ro-Pax terminal apron and its traffic organization. Thus, we establish a simulation-based Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision Making framework to evaluate the passenger service quality and distinguish an optimal layout of the terminal apron. This framework introduces three evaluation indicators (safety, convenience, and comfort and health) and 11 performance indexes to define the passenger service quality, and the values of these indexes are derived from an agent-based simulation model for the Ro-Pax terminal apron operation. Finally, an example of the proposed framework is presented in a case study to show how to select an improved layout of the Ro-Pax terminal apron considering passenger service quality. The result confirms the proposed framework is an effective tool to solve rezoning the Ro-Pax terminal apron and the proposed methodology can also be used to cope with similar problems.

Resumen
Understanding the nature of rail transit dwell time has potential benefits for both the users and the operators. Crowded passenger trains cause longer dwell times and may prevent some passengers from boarding the first available train that arrives. Actual dwell time and the process of passenger alighting and boarding are interdependent through the sequence of train stops and propagated delays. A comprehensive and feasible dwell time simulation model was developed and optimized to address the problems associated with scheduled timetables. The paper introduces the factors that affect dwell time in urban rail transit systems, including train headway, the process and number of passengers alighting and boarding the train, and the inability of train doors to properly close the first time because of overcrowded vehicles. Finally, based on a time-driven micro-simulation system, Shanghai rail transit Line 8 is used as an example to quantify the feasibility of scheduled dwell times for different stations, directions of travel and time periods, and a proposed dwell time during peak hours in several crowded stations is presented according to the simulation results.

Resumen
The article considers the problem of planning transport solutions for development and improvement of railway transport in the suburban direction because of impossibility to separate and to describe the flows of requests, as well as to determine the system states. It has been stated that under such conditions the approach using correspondence matrices in modeling looks promising. The applicability of the methods to passenger transportation by railway is being considered. The method of calculating service time of passenger traffic by electric train is described in the case of calculating the service time between the railway stations Irkutsk-Passenger-Shelekhov. Train downtime at each station depends on the number of people waiting, and travel time between stations is stated as constant. There is given a description of a software product, whose algorithm includes this method. With further development of the software and its introduction into internal automated system of Russian Railways it will be possible to calculate the workload of each railway line, to track passenger traffic and to plan an electric train with a suitable number of cars. This will help to increase the efficiency of commuter trains.

Resumen
Aims and Objectives: The objective of this study is to compare and explain the process and time-cost of passenger transportation by an international bus crossing three border gates between Laos and Vietnam, which are the (1) Nam Phao-Cau Treo (2) Na Phao – Cha Lo and (3) Dansavanh – Lao Bao border gates. Methods: The target groups of the research selected by purposive sampling are land passenger transportation service companies and land transport passengers, who, through interviews and observations, are the Key Informants (KIs). Results: The results reveal that (1) there are many routes and bus companies that provide local and international passenger services. The main group of passengers is Vietnamese crossing into Laos and linking to Thailand. (2) The international bus service across the Cha Lo-Na Pao border gates is shorter than the other pair border gates (3) The information system for transportation is inefficient (4) The single window system policy at Dansavanh – Lao Bao border gates can reduce the immigration checkpoint process by about 30 - 60 minutes. Conclusion: Therefore, the governments of Laos, Vietnam and Thailand should focus on intergrating transportation policy, such as employing one bus from Vietnam to Thailand per day starting in Vietnam and traveling to Thailand, crossing at the Na Phao-Cha Lo border gates and reducing the time at the immigration checkpoint in order to enhance and support economic cooperation in this region.

Resumen
This paper proposes a stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) assignment model for a schedule-based transit network with capacity constraint. We consider a situation in which passengers do not have the full knowledge about the condition of the network and select paths that minimize a generalized cost function encompassing five components: (1) ride time, which is composed of in-vehicle and waiting times, (2) overload delay, (3) fare, (4) transfer constraints, and (5) departure time difference. We split passenger demands among connections which are the space-time paths between OD pairs of the network. All transit vehicles have a fixed capacity and operate according to some preset timetables. When the capacity constraint of the transit line segment is reached, we show that the Lagrange multipliers of the mathematical programming problem are equivalent to the equilibrium passenger overload delay in the congested transit network. The proposed model can simultaneously predict how passengers choose their transit vehicles to minimize their travel costs and estimate the associated costs in a schedule-based congested transit network. A numerical example is used to illustrate the performance of the proposed model.

Resumen
The article presents a prediction regarding the development of passenger transport services, considering random factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, based on scenario methods. The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic has significantly affected the way passenger transport services are provided, mainly due to sanitary restrictions imposed by epidemiological services. At the same time, the communication behaviour of travellers has also changed, which in turn has influenced the demand for these services. The following study investigates transport service future development issues from multiple perspectives, including demand analysis, the selection of major factors influencing the development of passenger transport for individual Polish passengers using an online questionnaire, and scenario designs. The main purpose of this article is to build various scenarios for the development of passenger transport, considering changes in the demand for these services and factors related to their perception by the users of the means of transport. The main factors influencing the future development of passenger transport and the possible scenarios can support public transport service providers in planning their services in the post-shutdown phase as well as in their respective modelling development requirements. This can support the planning process with decision-making based on future behavioural trends.

Purpose This study aims to empirically analyse the determinants of airline passenger loyalty in the high-frills Indonesian airline industry. The interrelationships among passenger loyalty, customer engagement, customer satisfaction, brand image, perceived value and service quality are identified and discussed. Design/methodology/approach The perceptions of 250 Indonesian airline passengers were used to examine the interrelationships among the constructs. The data set was analysed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. Findings The empirical results demonstrate that customer engagement has the most influential effect on passenger loyalty, followed by customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has the largest total effect on customer engagement. Service quality, perceived value and customer satisfaction also indirectly affect customer loyalty through mediation. Originality/value The integration of the customer engagement construct with the other important marketing constructs comprehensively explains the role of customer engagement on customer loyalty. The effects of the important marketing constructs on customer loyalty are not only explained in the direct relationships but also in indirect relationships through mediation.

Resumen
Passenger transport emissions are currently responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions in Ireland. Not only is the share of emissions from passenger transport significant at 10%, but also the quantity of carbon dioxide emissions from passenger transport has been growing. The majority of passenger transport emissions come from private car transport, it being responsible for 90% of all passenger transport emissions in Ireland. Past policies to reduce the net emissions from passenger transport, such as manufacturer-based European-wide emissions and efficiency standards for private cars have had limited success, with increases in activity from passenger transport and people travelling further and more often by car counterbalancing improvements in car fuel performance. In recent years, the focus has shifted from improving and electrifying cars as a means to decarbonization of passenger transport to a broader range of measures to reduce emissions from passenger transport, including reducing the need for travel in the first place and encouraging a shift to walking, cycling or modes of mass/public transportation. We discuss the global climate imperative for passenger transport decarbonization, the policy frameworks established to facilitate this, and the energy systems models we develop here in UCC to monitor current and plan future passenger transport decarbonization.

Resumen
The volume of passenger flow in urban rail transit network operation continues to increase. Effective measures of passenger flow control can greatly alleviate the pressure of transportation and ensure the safe operation of urban rail transit systems. The controllability of an urban rail transit passenger flow network determines the equilibrium state of passenger flow density in time and space. First, a passenger flow network model of urban rail transit and an evaluation index of the alternative set of flow control stations are proposed. Then, the controllable determination model of the urban rail transit passenger flow network is formed by converting the passenger flow distribution into a system state equation based on system control theory. The optimization method of passenger flow control stations is established via driver node matching to realize the optimized control of network stations. Finally, a real-world case study of the Beijing subway network is presented to demonstrate that the passenger flow network is controllable when driver nodes compose 25.3% of the entire network. The optimization of the flow control station, set during the morning peak, proves the efficiency and validity of the proposed model and algorithm.

Resumen
In some Colombian regions, inland waterways play a relevant role in passenger mobility. However, many characteristics of their operation, required for planning purposes, are unknown. Existing data and studies are few and undetailed. In this context, collecting data and developing supply and demand models will make it possible to not only improving the knowledge of inland waterway transport in the country, but also the planning of the system. In this investigation, a survey instrument was designed and employed to collect data about passenger flows in seven ports on the Magdalena River, the most important river in Colombia. The collected information was used to specify and estimate strategic supply and demand models. Models based on the classic four-step model and alternative synthetic models were estimated and compared. The proposed models contribute to better understanding of the behaviour of inland waterway transport passengers. They were used to evaluate policies aimed at improving the users’ level of service and to encourage the utilisation of this mode of transport. Results show that accessibility variables and variables related to zone size define trip generation and distribution. In addition, it was found that inland waterway users in Colombia are highly cost sensitive.
