Consider a Riccati foliation whose monodromy representation is non-elementary and parabolic and consider a non-invariant section of the fibration whose associated developing map is onto. We prove that any holonomy germ from any non-invariant fibre to the section can be analytically continued along a generic Brownian path. To prove this theorem, we prove a dual result about complex projective structures. Let $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4}$ be a hyperbolic Riemann surface of finite type endowed with a branched complex projective structure: such a structure gives rise to a non-constant holomorphic map ${\mathcal{D}}:\tilde{\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4}}\rightarrow \mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^{1}$, from the universal cover of $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4}$ to the Riemann sphere $\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^{1}$, which is $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}$-equivariant for a morphism $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}:\unicode[STIX]{x1D70B}_{1}(\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4})\rightarrow \mathit{PSL}(2,\mathbb{C})$. The dual result is the following. If the monodromy representation $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}$ is parabolic and non-elementary and if ${\mathcal{D}}$ is onto, then, for almost every Brownian path $\unicode[STIX]{x1D714}$ in $\tilde{\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4}}$, ${\mathcal{D}}(\unicode[STIX]{x1D714}(t))$ does not have limit when $t$ goes to $\infty$. If, moreover, the projective structure is of parabolic type, we also prove that, although ${\mathcal{D}}(\unicode[STIX]{x1D714}(t))$ does not converge, it converges in the Cesàro sense.

The general ( α , t ) -path sum-connectivity index of a molecular graph originates from many practical problems, such as the three-dimensional quantitative structure–activity relationships (3D QSAR) and molecular chirality. For arbitrary nonzero real number α and arbitrary positive integer t, it is defined as t χ α ( G ) = ∑ P t = v i 1 v i 2 ⋯ v i t + 1 ⊆ G [ d G ( v i 1 ) d G ( v i 2 ) ⋯ d G ( v i t + 1 ) ] α , where we take the sum over all possible paths of length t of G and two paths v i 1 v i 2 ⋯ v i t + 1 and v i t + 1 ⋯ v i 2 v i 1 are considered to be one path. In this work, one important class of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their structures are firstly considered, which play a role in organic materials and medical sciences. We try to compute the exact general ( α , 2 ) -path sum-connectivity indices of these hydrocarbon systems. Furthermore, we exactly derive the monotonicity and the extremal values of these polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for any real number α . These valuable results could produce strong guiding significance to these applied sciences.

SUMMARY Knowledge of attenuation structure is important for understanding subsurface material properties. We have developed a double-difference seismic attenuation (DDQ) tomography method for high-resolution imaging of 3-D attenuation structure. Our method includes two main elements, the inversion of event-pair differential ${t^*}$ ($d{t^*}$) data and 3-D attenuation tomography with the $d{t^*}$ data. We developed a new spectral ratio method that jointly inverts spectral ratio data from pairs of events observed at a common set of stations to determine the $d{t^*}$ data. The spectral ratio method cancels out instrument and site response terms, resulting in more accurate $d{t^*}$ data compared to absolute ${t^*}$ from traditional methods using individual spectra. Synthetic tests show that the inversion of $d{t^*}$ data using our spectral ratio method is robust to the choice of source model and a moderate degree of noise. We modified an existing velocity tomography code so that it can invert $d{t^*}$ data for 3-D attenuation structure. We applied the new method to The Geyser geothermal field, California, which has vapour-dominated reservoirs and a long history of water injection. A new Qp model at The Geysers is determined using P-wave data of earthquakes in 2011, using our updated earthquake locations and Vp model. By taking advantage of more accurate $d{t^*}$ data and the cancellation of model uncertainties along the common paths outside of the source region, the DDQ tomography method achieves higher resolution, especially in the earthquake source regions, compared to the standard tomography method using ${t^*}$ data. This is validated by both the real and synthetic data tests. Our Qp and Vp models show consistent variations in a normal temperature reservoir that can be explained by variations in fracturing, permeability and fluid saturation and/or steam pressure. A prominent low-Qp and Vp zone associated with very active seismicity is imaged within a high temperature reservoir at depths below 2 km. This anomalous zone is likely partially saturated with injected fluids.

The long-term Pressure-Temperature-time-deformation (P-T-t-d) evolution of the internal zones of orogens results from complex interactions between the subducting lithosphere, the overriding plate and the intervening asthenosphere. 2-D numerical models successfully reproduce natural P-T-t-d paths, but most orogens are non-cylindrical and the situation is far more complex due to 3-D pre-orogenic inheritance and 3-D subduction dynamics. The Mediterranean orogens are intrinsically non-cylindrical. Their 3-D geometry results from the complex shape of the Eurasian and African margins before convergence and from the dynamics of slab retreat and tearing leading to strongly arcuate belts. More than many other segments, the Betic-Rif belt is archetypal of this behavior. A synthesis of the tectonometamorphic evolution of the Internal Zones, also based on recent findings by our group in the framework of the Orogen Project (Alboran domain, including the Alpujárride-Sebtide and Nevado-Filábride complexes) shows the relations in space and time between tectonic and P-T evolutions. The reinterpretation of the contact between peridotite massifs and Mesozoic sediments as an extensional detachment leads to a discussion of the geodynamic setting and timing of mantle exhumation. Based on new 40Ar/39Ar ages in the Alpujárride-Sebtide complex and a discussion of published ages in the Nevado-Filábride complex, we conclude that the age of the HP-LT metamorphism is Eocene in all complexes. A first-order observation is the contrast between the well-preserved Eocene HP-LT blueschists-facies rocks of the eastern Alpujárride-Sebtide Complex and the younger HT-LP conditions reaching partial melting recorded in the Western Alpujárride. We propose a model where the large longitudinal variations in the P-T evolution are mainly due to (i) differences in the timing of subduction and exhumation, (ii) the nature of the subducting lithosphere and (iii) a major change in subduction dynamics at ∼20 Ma associated with a slab-tearing event. The clustering of radiometric ages obtained with different methods around 20 Ma results from a regional exhumation episode coeval with slab tearing, westward migration of the trench, back-arc extension and thrusting of the whole orogen onto the African and Iberian margins.

Abstract. The Nimbus 7 Limb Infrared Monitor of the Stratosphere (LIMS) instrument operated from 25 October 1978 through 28 May 1979. Its version 6 (V6) profiles were processed and archived in 2002. We present several diagnostic examples of the quality of the V6 stratospheric species distributions based on their level 3 zonal Fourier coefficient products. In particular, we show that there are small differences in the ascending (A) minus descending (D) orbital temperature–pressure or T(p) profiles (their A−D values) that affect (A−D) species values. Systematic A−D biases in T(p) can arise from small radiance biases and/or from viewing anomalies along orbits. There can also be (A−D) differences in T(p) due to not resolving and correcting for all of the atmospheric temperature gradient along LIMS tangent view-paths. An error in T(p) affects species retrievals through (1) the Planck blackbody function in forward calculations of limb radiance that are part of the iterative retrieval algorithm of LIMS, and (2) the registration of the measured LIMS species radiance profiles in pressure altitude, mainly for the lower stratosphere. There are clear A−D differences for ozone, H2O, and HNO3 but not for NO2. Percentage differences are larger in the lower stratosphere for ozone and H2O because those species are optically thick. We evaluate V6 ozone profile biases in the upper stratosphere with the aid of comparisons against a monthly climatology of UV–ozone soundings from rocketsondes. We also provide results of time series analyses of V6 ozone, H2O, and potential vorticity for the middle stratosphere to show that their average (A+D) V6 level 3 products provide a clear picture of the evolution of those tracers during Northern Hemisphere winter. We recommend that researchers use the average V6 level 3 product for their science studies of stratospheric ozone and H2O, while keeping in mind that there are uncorrected nonlocal thermodynamic equilibrium effects in daytime ozone in the lower mesosphere and in daytime H2O in the uppermost stratosphere. We also point out that the present-day Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry (SABER) experiment provides measurements and retrievals of temperature and ozone that are nearly free of anomalous diurnal variations and of effects from gradients at low and middle latitudes.

Abstract Background: There exist shared T cell receptors (TCR) found in the circulating repertoires of healthy individuals. The exact mechanism for why some sequences are more commonly shared is unclear, but it has been hypothesized that the number of recombination permutations of V, D and J segments that produce a particular shared sequence is predictive (i.e. the "convergent recombination" hypothesis). An alternative hypothesis is that sharing is driven by decreased biochemical energy required to generate the shared sequences (i.e. the "enzyme proxy" hypothesis). Methods: Circulating T cells were collected from 100 healthy donors and TCR repertoires were profiled. Using a novel algorithm, the number of recombination events that could produce each TCR was calculated ("path count"). Sequence features associated with enzymatic operations - such as V and J region chewback and non-templated nucleotide addition - were calculated as well ("enzymatic" parameters). Multivariable regression was used to identify TCR sequence features associated with TCR clonotype sharing between individuals. Results: Nearly 38 million unique TCR sequences from the donor cohort were profiled. Based on regression coefficient analysis of significance, enzymatic parameters were overall negatively associated with TCR sharing (betas [-1.24x10-2 - 3.88x10-3], average -5.67x10-3, maximum p<0.001), while path count had a positive association (beta 1.73x10-2, p<0.001). When these parameters were used to predict sharing, a model using enzymatic parameters had similar performance to a model using only path count. The creation of a model with both enzymatic and path count parameters led to a significant improvement in predictive ability over both models (minimum delta LR 56950, p<0.001). The enzymatic variables and path count had a weak negative correlation (pearson correlation [-0.518 - -0.407]). Conclusions: Our findings indicate that TCR sharing is inversely related with increasing complexity of enzymatic operations required during VDJ recombination, and is predictive of receptor sharing between circulating T-cell repertoires in humans. The number of recombination paths is positively associated with TCR sharing, and carries predictive information indepenent of enzymatic operation. This suggests that shared TCRs are favored due to a combination of enzymatic kinetics as well as available recombination paths. AbstractMicrostructural analysis and P–T estimates of metamorphic pebbles in Permian conglomerates of the Central Southern Alps, representing the erosion product of the collapsing Variscan chain, are the discriminating tools for determining the metamorphic sequences representing potential sources of the conglomerates. In the selected case, basement units are precisely outlined on the basis of quality P–T–d–t paths that allow reconstruction of their metamorphic evolutions (tectonometamorphic units); this facilitates individuation of the basement sources with much better confidence. The lower Permian volcaniclastic sequence of the Eastern Orobic Basin, which overlies the Variscan Val Vedello basement, comprises the Aga and Vedello conglomerates, which are the oldest deposits containing a considerable amount of up to metre-sized metamorphic pebbles. Microstructural and mineral chemical data on metamorphic pebbles of the Aga and Vedello conglomerates were used to infer quantitative pre-Permian P–T evolutions, which are compared with those of the tectonometamorphic units constituting the surrounding Southalpine metamorphic basement. Two types of P–T evolution are recorded in the metamorphic pebbles of Aga and Vedello conglomerates: Type 1 is characterized by an amphibolite-facies imprint, followed by greenschist retrogression; Type 2 is characterized by three successive greenschist-facies re-equilibrations. The Type 1 P–T evolution of metamorphic pebbles matches with that of the adjacent tectonometamorphic unit of the Val Vedello basement. Type 2 is similar to those recorded in units B and C of the North East Orobic basement, and it differs from that of the adjacent Val Vedello basement. This suggests that the Aga and Vedello conglomerates were fed by two different basement sources: one consisting of the present day Val Vedello basement, and the other compatible with units B and C of the North East Orobic basement. According to the P/T ratios of the Tmax–PTmax imprints, both basement sources recorded the Variscan collision but at a different crustal level. The age (c. 278 Ma) of the Aga and Vedello conglomerates constrains the minimum exhumation age for their basement sources.

AbstractThe Valpelline unit is a large slice of continental crust constituting the Austroalpine Dent Blanche nappe (NW Italy). The pre-Alpine evolution of this unit holds important clues about the Palaeozoic crustal structure at the northern margin of the Adria continent, about the history of rifting in the Alpine region, and thus about the thermomechanical conditions that preceded the Alpine convergent evolution. Several stages of the deformation history and of partial re-equilibration were identified, combining meso- and micro-structural analyses with thermobarometry. Reconstructed pre-Alpine P–T–t–d paths demonstrate that the Valpelline unit experienced an early stage at pressures between 4.5 and 6.5 kbar followed by migmatite formation. A subsequent stage reached amphibolite to granulite facies conditions. This stage was associated with the development of the most penetrative fabrics affecting all of the Valpelline lithotypes. The pre-Alpine evolution ended with a weak deformation associated with a local mineral-chemical re-equilibration under greenschist facies conditions at ≈ 4 kbar and T < 450°C. A Permo-Mesozoic lithospheric extension is thought to be responsible for asthenosphere upwelling, thereby causing high temperature metamorphism at medium pressure and widespread partial melting, which led to upper crustal magmatic activity.

The paper [11] was devoted to the Dirichlet problem with continuous boundary data for quasilinear Poisson equations in smooth (C1) domains. The present paper is devoted to the Dirichlet problem with arbitrary measurable (over natural parameter) boundary data for the quasilinear Poisson equations in any Jordan domains with rectifiable boundaries. For this purpose, it is constructed completely continuous operators generating nonclassical solutions of the Dirichlet boundary-value problem with arbitrary measurable data for the Poisson equations ?U = G with the sources G ? Lp, p > 1. The latter makes it possible to apply the Leray-Schauder approach to the proof of theorems on the existence of regular nonclassical solutions of the measurable Dirichlet problem for quasilinear Poisson equations of the form ?U(z) = H(z)?Q(U(z)) for multipliers H ? Lp with p > 1 and continuous functions Q : R ? R with Q(t)/t ? 0 as t ? ?. Here the boundary values are interpreted in the sense of angular (along nontangential paths) limits that are a traditional tool of the geometric function theory in comparison with variational interpretations in PDE. As consequences, we give applications to some concrete semi-linear equations of mathematical physics, arising under modelling various physical processes such as diffusion with absorption, plasma states, stationary burning etc.

It is known widely that an interconnection network can be denoted by a graph G = ( V , E ) , where V denotes the vertex set and E denotes the edge set. Investigating structures of G is necessary to design a suitable topological structure of interconnection network. One of the critical issues in evaluating an interconnection network is graph embedding, which concerns whether a host graph contains a guest graph as its subgraph. Linear arrays (i.e., paths) and rings (i.e., cycles) are two ordinary guest graphs (or basic networks) for parallel and distributed computation. In the process of large-scale interconnection network operation, it is inevitable that various errors may occur at nodes and edges. It is significant to find an embedding of a guest graph into a host graph where all faulty nodes and edges have been removed. This is named as fault-tolerant embedding. The twisted hypercube-like networks ( T H L N s ) contain several important hypercube variants. This paper is concerned with the fault-tolerant path-embedding of n-dimensional (n-D) T H L N s . Let G n be an n-D T H L N and F be a subset of V ( G n ) ∪ E ( G n ) with | F | ≤ n - 2 . We show that for two different arbitrary correct vertices u and v, there is a faultless path P u v of every length l with 2 n - 1 - 1 ≤ l ≤ 2 n - f v - 1 - α , where α = 0 if vertices u and v form a normal vertex-pair and α = 1 if vertices u and v form a weak vertex-pair in G n - F ( n ≥ 5 ).

DFT B3LYP calculations with the 6-311G(d, p) basis set were carried out to explore the mechanism of the NH (X3Σ-) + HCNO reaction. On the basis of calculated reaction paths, the three reaction channels are predicted to occur via the following reaction steps. The NH radical initially attacks C atom of the HCNO radical, leading to an intermediate HC(NH)NO (a1), followed by formation of a bond between the H atom of NH (X3Σ-) radical and the N atom of HCNO, leading to the formation of product HNO + HCN. In addition to the H atom of NH (X3Σ-) radical migration in the intermediate HC(NH)NO (a1), the H atom migration from C atom to N atom leads to an intermediate HN(H)CNO (b), followed by rupture of H2N-CNO bond, leading to the products NH2 + CNO. The NH radical initially attacks N atom of the HCNO radical, leading to an intermediate HCN(NH)O (a3), followed by formation of the products CH2O + N2, through the intermediates d1, d2, d3, d4, e1, e2 and f. The CCSD(T)/ 6-311G(d,p) energetic results indicated that the total barrier of product 1, product 2 and product 3 is 32.8 kcal/mol, 89.5 kcal/mol, 40.0 kcal/mol, respectively. It is shown that P1(CH2O + N2), P3 (HCN + HNO) are the major product channels with a minor contribution from P2 (NH2 + CNO).

The purpose of this study was to examine teacher dispositions within an undergraduate and graduate education course aimed at helping students gain a better appreciation for lifelong multicultural education. Education majors (N=202) from a Midwestern metropolitan university were asked to rate the viability of 13 dispositions as a training and instructional tool. Curriculum based on the underlying principles of the dispositions served as the treatment plan. Significant pretest (M=7.92, SD=0.77) to post-test (M=8.45, SD=0.56) change in mean scores was shown for the combined data set (t(204)=-10.32, p<.0005) with a large effect size (d=.80). Dispositional growth was evident despite a limited impact of selected demographic variables. Results of this institutional review board approved study demonstrate that multicultural dispositions applied within an intentionally inviting learning environment can be used to assess changes in student perceptions over the span of a semester or across a program of professional preparation. This will help college students better assess whether or not teaching and counseling career paths are correct ones for them to pursue.

The study of the Dirichlet problem with arbitrary measurable data for harmonic functions in the unit disk $\mathbb D$ goes to the famous dissertation of Luzin, see e.g. its reprint \cite{L}. His result was formulated in terms of angular limits (along nontangent paths) that are a traditional tool for the research of the boundary behavior in the geometric function theory. Following this way, we proved in \cite{GNR1} Theorem 7 on the solvability of the Dirichlet problem for the Poisson equations $\triangle\, U=G$ with sources in classes $G\in L^p,$ $ p>1$, in Jordan domains with arbitrary boundary data that are measurable with respect to the logarithmic capacity. There we assumed that the domains satisfy the quasihyperbolic boundary condition by Gehring--Martio, generally speaking, without the known $(A)-$condition by Ladyzhenskaya--Ural'tseva and, in particular, without the outer cone condition that were standard for boundary-value problems in the PDE theory. Note that such Jordan domains cannot be even locally rectifiable. With a view to further development of the theory of boundary value problems for semi-linear equations, the present paper is devoted to the Dirichlet problem with arbitrary measurable (over logarithmic capacity) boundary data for quasilinear Poisson equations in such Jordan domains. For this purpose, it is first constructed completely continuous operators generating nonclassical solutions of the Dirichlet boundary-value problem with arbitrary measurable data for the Poisson equations $\triangle\, U=G$ with the sources $G\in L^p,$ $ p>1$. This paper presents a parameterization and an interpolation method for quintic splines, which result in a smooth and consistent feed rate profile. The discrepancy between the spline parameter and the actual arc length leads to undesirable feed fluctuations and discontinuity, which elicit themselves as high frequency acceleration and jerk harmonics, causing unwanted structural vibrations and excessive tracking error. Two different approaches are presented that alleviate this problem. The first approach is based on modifying the spline tool path so that it is optimally parameterized with respect to its arc length, which allows it to be accurately interpolated in real-time with minimal complexity. The second approach is based on scheduling the spline parameter to accurately yield the desired arc displacement (hence feed rate), either by approximation of the relationship between the arc length and the spline parameter with a feed correction polynomial, or by solving the spline parameter iteratively in real-time at each interpolation step. This approach is particularly suited for predetermined spline tool paths, which are not arc-length parameterized and cannot be modified. The proposed methods have been compared to approximately arc-length C3 quintic spline parameterization (Wang, F.-C., Wright, P. K., Barsky, B. A., and Yang, D. C. On 16 December 2015 a severe thunderstorm and associated tornado affected Sydney causing widespread damage and insured losses of $206 million. Severe impacts occurred in Kurnell, requiring repairs to Sydney's desalination plant which supplies up to 15% of Sydney water during drought, with repairs only completed at the end of 2018. Climatologically, this storm was unusual as it occurred during the morning and had developed over the ocean, rather than developing inland during the afternoon as is the case for many severe storms impacting the Sydney region. Simulations of the Kurnell storm were conducted using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model on a double nested domain using the Morrison microphysics scheme and the NSSL 2-moment 4-ice microphysics scheme. Both simulations produced severe storms that followed paths similar to the observed storm. However, the storm produced under the Morrison scheme did not have the same morphology as the observed storm. Meanwhile, the storm simulated with the NSSL scheme displayed cyclical low- and mid-level mesocyclone development, which was observed in the Kurnell storm, highlighting that the atmosphere supported the development of severe rotating thunderstorms with the potential for tornadogenesis. The NSSL storm also produced severe hail and surface winds, similar to observations. The ability of WRF to simulate general convective characteristics and a storm similar to that observed displays the applicability of this model to study the causes of severe high-impact Australian thunderstorms. Improving the efficiency of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) through high power density operation necessitates liquid water management in the cathode gas diffusion layer (GDL), where liquid water saturation inhibits oxygen diffusivity. To this end, there have been numerous efforts aimed at understanding liquid water transport behaviour to guide GDL design improvements. X-ray imaging of representative in-operando miniaturized PEFC samples has been instrumental to much of recent progress [1–4] in understanding liquid water distribution patterns. Radiographic two-dimensional (2D) images have enabled visualization of liquid water dynamics [3] while three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography images have provided pore-scale information of liquid water saturation states in the GDL [2] and of its transport mechanism [4]. However, how liquid water pathways are formed and the likelihood for preferential pathways remain unclear. In this work, we investigate factors that influence liquid water distribution and pathway definition using correlative rapid 2D and long duration 3D operando X-ray datasets which enable a visualization of liquid water breakthrough dynamics and the corresponding pore-scale interactions in the GDL. The correlated images together with GDL pore structure visualization are used to identify three characteristic pore-scale saturation behaviour with sample regions highlighted in Fig. 1. These regions include locations with restricted liquid water breakthrough, locations with apparent large breakthrough porous pathways where breakthrough liquid water is observable at least in the 2D images, and similarly porous regions where no liquid water breakthrough is observed. It is found that the behaviour shown in the identified regions are strongly linked to local pore-scale structural characteristics and capillary pressure distribution in the GDL. Investigating the 3D virtual GDL from around the microporous layer through to the channel interface, it is shown that liquid water pathways get increasingly defined with a decrease in spatial uniformity towards the flow channels. Pore-scale analysis and observed flow mechanisms show that the defined pathways are locally accessible paths of least capillary resistance dictated by pore radius and associated hydrophobicity. These findings highlight the important role that pore scale topology plays in addition to pore size distribution for future GDL design aimed at improving water management. The goal of this paper is to identify individuals by analyzing their gait. Instead of using binary silhouettes as input data (as done in many previous works) we propose and evaluate the use of motion descriptors based on densely sampled short-term trajectories. We take advantage of state-of-the-art people detectors to define custom spatial configurations of the descriptors around the target person, obtaining a rich representation of the gait motion. The local motion features (described by the Divergence-Curl-Shear descriptor [M. Jain, H. Jegou and P. Bouthemy, Better exploiting motion for better action recognition, in Proc. IEEE Conf. Computer Vision Pattern Recognition (CVPR) (2013), pp. 2555–2562.]) extracted on the different spatial areas of the person are combined into a single high-level gait descriptor by using the Fisher Vector encoding [F. <p><strong><em>Background:</em></strong><em> </em><em>Diabetes Mellitus (DM) causes a decrease in quality of life in all domains. The most often overlooked cause of DM patients is not carrying out physical activity regularly. </em><strong><em>Purpose:</em></strong><em> </em><em>The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of healthy pathways on the quality of life of type 2 D</em><em>M</em><em> patients in the Health Center in Kotabumi North Lampung in 2017.</em><em> </em><strong><em>Methods:</em></strong><em> </em><em>This study used quasi-experimental pre-post test design with a control group. The number of samples consisted of treatment groups and control groups, each group of 22 respondents. The treatment group was the respondents who carried out healthy walks of intervention, then measured the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, while the control group did not carry out healthy walking activities. Data analysis uses t test dependent. </em><strong><em>Results:</em></strong><em> </em><em>The results showed that there was an effect of healthy pathways on the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the health centers in Kotabumi, North Lampung (p = 0.007). <strong>Conclusions</strong></em><strong><em>:</em></strong><em> Healthy paths improve the quality of life for patients with type 2 diabetes, including aspects of physical health, psychological health, social and environmental relations. </em></p><p><strong>Latar Belakang:</strong> Penyakit Diabetes Mellitus (DM) menyebabkan penurunan kualitas hidup disemua domain. Penyebab yang paling sering diabaikan penderita DM adalah tidak melaksanakan aktivitas fisik secara teratur. <strong>Tujuan: </strong>Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh jalan sehat terhadap kualitas hidup penderita DM tipe 2 di Puskesmas wilayah Kotabumi Lampung Utara Tahun 2017. <strong>Metode:</strong> Penelitian ini menggunakan <em>kuasi eksperimen pre post test design </em> dengan kelompok kontrol. Jumlah sampel terdiri atas kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol masing-masing kelompok 22 responden. Kelompok perlakuan adalah responden yang dilakukan intervensi jalan sehat, kemudian dilakukan pengukuran kualitas hidup penderita DM tipe 2, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak melakukan kegiatan jalan sehat. Analisis data menggunakan <em>t </em><em>test dependent</em>. <strong>Hasil:</strong> Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh jalan sehat terhadap kualitas hidup penderita DM tipe 2 di Puskesmas wilayah Kotabumi Lampung Utara (p=0,007). <strong>Simpulan:</strong> Jalan sehat meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita DM tipe 2 meliputi aspek kesehatan fisik, kesehatan psikologis, hubungan sosial dan lingkungan.</p>

Many studies have shown a link between being competent in early mathematics and achievement in school. Early math skills have the potential to be the best predictors of later performance in reading and mathematics. Movement and songs are activities that children like, making it easier for teachers to apply mathematical concepts through this method. This study aims to develop audio-visual learning media in the form of songs with a mixture of western and traditional musical idioms, accompanied by movements that represent some of the teaching of early mathematics concepts. The stages of developing the ADDIE model are the basis for launching new learning media products related to math and art, and also planting the nation's cultural arts from an early age. These instructional media products were analyzed by experts and tested for their effectiveness through experiments on five children aged 3-4 years. The qualitative data were analyzed using transcripts of field notes and observations and interpreted in a descriptive narrative. The quantitative data were analyzed using gain score statistics. The results showed that there was a significant increase in value for early mathematical understanding of the concepts of geometry, numbers and measurement through this learning medium. The results of the effectiveness test become the final basis of reference for revision and complement the shortcomings of this learning medium. Further research can be carried out to develop other mathematical concepts through motion and song learning media, and to create experiments with a wider sample. Introduction. The relevance of the study of psychological well-being and its correlation with the value-semantic sphere of the personality among students-psychologists is due to the need to train specialists in helping professions, who are able to carry out competent psychological support of the subject during a period of growing instability.The aim of the present research is to identify the characteristics of psychological well-being and its correlations with the value-semantic sphere of psychology students' personality in terms of personal values, basic semantic attitudes, self-actualisation of the personality, a dynamic system of life meanings for understanding and working out flexible supra-professional skills associated with self-organisation and self-development of career paths to maintain professional health.Methodology and research methods. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was the subject-activity approach to psychological well-being and the value-semantic sphere of the individual, developed by the Russian psychology, taking into account the scientific works of foreign authors. An empirical study was conducted among students-psychologists of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (N = 80) using the psychodiagnostic methods: “Scale of Psychological Well-Being” by K. Riff (adapted by T. P. Shevelenkova and P. P. Fesenko), “Self-Actualization Test” (by E. Shostrom), “Value Questionnaire” (by Sh. Schwartz), test “Meaningful Orientations” (by D. A. Leontiev), “System of Life Meanings” (by V. Yu. Kotlyakov), “Basic Semantic Attitudes” (by A. D. Ishkov and N. G. Milardova). The following methods of mathematical statistics were applied: correlation (Spearman's р) and factor analysis (principal component method), IBM SPSS Statistics 22 program.Results. The revealed significant correlations between psychological well-being, value orientations and semantic attitudes of psychology students confirm that the respondents' goal-setting is limited by the lack of a sense of independence, as well as the need to combine new and traditional methods for society to manage and control their activities. Self-actualisation of the individual is constrained by the presence of semantic attitudes of the respondents, reflecting their dependence on emotional support and the opinions of others. The results of factor analysis demonstrate the presence of five factors in the personality structure: the factor of safety and stability of life when it is meaningful and manageable; the factor of self-actualisation regardless of the environment; the factor of psychological well-being with the meaningfulness of personal development; the factor of manifesting concern for the well-being of loved ones with a decrease in exactingness and responsibility for them; the factor of achieving personal success with the ability to take risks.Scientific novelty. The authors made an attempt at investigating the correlations of psychological well-being with certain aspects of the value-semantic sphere of the personality among young specialists in the helping profession, for whom this area of the psyche acquires professional and personal significance.Practical significance. The results of the current research can be employed in the course of preparation and design of professional supervision programmes for students-psychologists, as well as in the process of development of over-professional skills associated with the reflection of young specialists of their own life-creating resources, located in the space of complex interaction of psychological well-being and value-semantic sphere.

One form of early mathematical recognition is to introduce the concept of geometric shapes. Geometry is an important scientific discipline for present and future life by developing various ways that fit 21st century skills. This study aims to overcome the problem of early mathematical recognition of early childhood on geometry, especially how to recognize geometric forms based on computer learning. A total of 24 children aged 4-5 years in kindergarten has to carrying out 2 research cycles with a total of 5 meetings. Treatment activities in each learning cycle include mentioning, grouping and imitating geometric shapes. There were only 7 children who were able to recognize the geometric shapes in the pre-research cycle (29.2%). An increase in the number of children who are able to do activities well in each research cycle includes: 1) The activities mentioned in the first cycle and 75% in the second cycle; 2) Classifying activities in the first cycle were 37.5% and 75% in the second cycle; 3) Imitation activities in the first cycle 54.2% and 79.2% in the second cycle. The results of data acquisition show that computer learning application can improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes, this is because computer learning provides software that has activities to recognize geometric shapes with the animation and visuals displayed. Resumen
Character education in early childhood is not new, and character education is also not just a transfer of knowledge, but something that needs to be built early on through various stimula- tions. This study aims to develop the character of early childhood through audio-visual media with traditional Javanese songs. Using educational design-based research to develop audio-visual media from traditional songs, this media was tested in the field with an experimental design with a control group. Respondents involved 71 kindergarten students from one experimental class in one control class. The data revealed that character education in children shows the average value of the experi- mental class is higher than the control group, this means character education in children can be built through traditional songs. Further research can be done to improve the character of early childhood through a variety of media that interests children. Parental Involvement in their children's schooling has long been recognized as a critical component of good education. This study aims to find out the relationship between socioeconomic status, interpersonal communication, and school climate with parental involvement in early childhood education. Using survey and correlational research design, data collection was carried out through accumulation techniques with tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used statistical analysis and multiple regressions. The findings in the socio-economic context of parents show that the measure of power is an indicator in the very high category with a total score of 5, while the measures of wealth, honour and knowledge are included in the high category with a total score of 4 in relation to parental involvement. The form of interpersonal communication, the openness of parents in responding happily to information / news received from schools about children is a finding of a significant relationship with parental involvement in early childhood education. The school climate describes the responsibility for their respective duties and roles, work support provided, and interpersonal communication relationships, parents at home and teachers at school. Resumen
Foram avaliados o desempenho e componentes do peso vivo e da carcaça de ovinos machos castrados, em confinamento por um período de 80 dias, antes do abate aos 12 meses de idade, alimentados com uma dieta composta por silagem de milho (60,50% da MS) + concentrado (39,50% da MS), contendo 17,13% de PB. Foram comparados os seguintes genótipos: Hampshire Down (H D), Téxel (T), Corriedale (C), cruza Suffolk x Corriedale (SC) e cruza lle de France x Corriedale (IC). O H D apresentou consumo de MS (g/an/dia) similar ao SC e superior ao IC, C e T (P < 0,0013), que foram similares entre si (P ≥ 0,05). Quando o consumo de MS foi expresso em kg/100 kg de PV, o T foi similar ao HD e C e inferior (P < 0,0093) ao SC e IC, que foram similares (P ≥ 0,05) entre si. Quando este foi expresso em g/UTM/dia não houve diferença (P ≥ 0,05) entre os genótipos. Os ganhos de peso médio diário apresentados pelo SC e HD foram similares (P ≥ 0,05) ao IC e superiores (P < 0,0022) ao T e C que foram similares (P ≥ 0,05) entre si. Com relação a conversão de MS em ganho de peso, não houve diferença estatística (P ≥ 0,05) entre os genótipos. O rendimento de carcaça quente foi maior (P < 0,0001) no H D enquanto nos demais genótipos foram similares (P ≥ 0,05) entre si. Os genótipos C e CS apresentaram maior (P < 0,0174) percentual de cabeça enquanto o menor percentual foi apresentado pelo H D, sendo que nos demais foi similar (P ≥ 0,05). Por outro lado, o maior (P < 0,0004) percentual de patas foi apresentado pelo IC e o menor pelo HD, enquanto nos demais genótipos foi similar (P ≥ 0,05). Já o percentual de pele foi superior (P < 0,0004) no C, inferior no H D e similar (P ≥ 0,05) nos demais genótipos. No percentual de trato digestivo + vísceras + perda de sangue não houve diferença estatística (P ≥ 0,05) entre os genótipos.

The needs of the world today are real and immediate, yet it’s necessary to develop ways to meet these needs that do not disregard the future. The capacity of our ecosystem is not limitless, meaning that future generations may not be able to meet their needs the way we are able to now. The growth that is unmanaged and unsustained will lead to increased poverty and decline of the environment. We owe it to future generations to explore lifestyles and paths of development that effectively balance progress with awareness of its environmental impact. Pembangunan berkelanjutan terus berupaya untuk mencapai kemajuan sosial dan ekonomi dengan cara-cara yang tidak akan menguras sumber daya alam yang terbatas. Kebutuhan dunia saat ini adalah nyata dan segera, namun cara-cara untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut yang tidak mengabaikan masa depan perlu dikembangkan. The pathis a “continuous” path of unbounded self-adjoint “Fredholm” operators. More precisely, we show thatis a norm-continuous path of (bounded) self-adjoint Fredholm operators. The spectral flow of this path is roughly speaking the net number of eigenvalues that pass through 0 in the positive direction as t runs from 0 to 1. This integer,recovers the pairing of the K-homology class [D] with the K-theory class [u].We use I.M. Singer's idea (as did E. This article is born from the results of a larger research that aimed to identify the relationship that the teacher establishes between his personal dimensions (identity) and the professional dimensions (teacher identity) in his formation and his practice, through reflection on his daily action. At this moment of the research the objective was to identify and describe the reflexive processes observed on the practical action of the teacher, as well as the paths covered in the formation and constitution of the professional identity. For this, the methodology of writing class diaries was used, mainly based on Zabalza's theoretical framework. The journals were developed by five teachers during three months in a semester, with subsequent reflection of the reports from a script presented to them by the researchers. The data, analyzed by the technique of Content Analysis, according to Bardin, revealed five categories that made explicit on the knowledge of teaching practice, reflexive processes, teacher training and the constitution of their professional identity. The results showed that the methodology used (class diaries) was efficient in order to allow a space for reflection, as a way to build an effective practice that is consistent with the personal issues of the professional. The reflections made by the teachers indicate that they live the complexities of the profession as a great burden to bear having unfinished ideas on coping strategies.ResumoEste artigo nasce dos resultados de uma pesquisa maior que objetivou identificar a relação que o professor estabelece entre suas dimensões pessoais (identidade) e as dimensões profissionais (identidade docente) na sua formação e na sua prática, através da reflexão sobre sua ação diária. Neste momento da pesquisa, o objetivo era identificar e descrever os processos reflexivos observados sobre a ação prática do professor, bem como os caminhos percorridos na formação e constituição da identidade profissional. Para tal foi utilizada a metodologia de redação de diários de aula, embasados, primordialmente, no referencial teórico da Zabalza. Os diários foram desenvolvidos por cinco docentes durante três meses em um semestre letivo, com posterior reflexão dos relatos a partir de um roteiro apresentado a eles pelos pesquisadores. Os dados, analisados pela técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, segundo Bardin, revelaram cinco categorias que explicitaram sobre os saberes da prática docente, os processos reflexivos, a formação do professor e a constituição de sua identidade profissional. Os resultados mostraram que a metodologia utilizada (diários de aula) foi eficiente no sentido de permitir um espaço destinado à reflexão, como forma de construir uma prática eficaz e condizente com as questões pessoais do profissional. As reflexões feitas pelos professores indicam que vivem as complexidades da profissão como uma grande carga a se carregar tendo ideias inacabadas sobre estratégias de enfrentamento das mesmas.ResumenEste artículo nace de los resultados de una investigación mayor que objetivó identificar la relación que el profesor establece entre sus dimensiones personales (identidad) y las dimensiones profesionales (identidad docente) en su formación y en su práctica, a través de la reflexión sobre su acción diaria. En este momento de la investigación el objetivo era identificar y describir los procesos reflexivos observados sobre la acción práctica del profesor, así como los caminos recorridos en la formación y constitución de la identidad profesional. Para ello se utilizó la metodología de redacción de diarios de clase, fundamentados, primordialmente, en el referencial teórico de Zabalza. Los diarios fueron desarrollados por cinco docentes durante tres meses en un semestre lectivo, con posterior reflexión de los relatos a partir de un guión presentado a ellos por los investigadores. Los datos, analizados por la técnica de Análisis de Contenido, según Bardin, revelaron cinco categorías que explicitaron sobre los saberes de la práctica docente, los procesos reflexivos, la formación del profesor y la constitución de su identidad profesional. Los resultados mostraron que la metodología utilizada (diarios de clase) fue eficiente en el sentido de permitir un espacio destinado a la reflexión, como forma de construir una práctica eficaz y acorde con las cuestiones personales del profesional. Resumen
Kawasan Cigondewah pada awalnya merupakan kawasan agraris, dan kawasan ini mengalami perkembangan kearah sentra perdagangan kain dan industri tekstil sejak tahun 1960-1976 yang ditandai oleh usaha karung goni oleh masyarakat setempat. Kegiatan ekonomi berbasis home industri ini memberikan kontribusi pendapatan bagi khususnya penduduk setempat, karena tenaga kerja berasal dari sekitar kelurahan Cigondewah sendiri. Mulanya usaha karung goni ini dibeli dari pabrik gula yang kemudian dipasarkan hingga Kawarang dan Banten. Pada tahun 1976 mengalami kejenuhan, yang kemudian masyarakat setempat beralih dari usaha karung goni ke imbah industri (karung plastik dan kain bekas). Pada awal 1997 kawasan cigondewah mampu berperan sebagai sentra perdagangan kain. Sentra ini melayani pembeli-pembeli yang berasal dari Bandung dan sekitasrnya. Bahan baku dari tekstil berasal dari pabrik yang ada di wilayah tersebut, namun sebagian lagi berasal dari Jakarta melalui pelabuhan Tanjung Priok. Kawasan ini dalam RTRW Kota Bandung adalah kawasan industri berwawasan lingkungan. Perkembangan kawasan ini memberikan potensi yang luas terutama dalam pengembangannya sebagai sebuah kawasan yang memiliki produk unggulan/spesialisasi dalam cakupan rencana pengembangan pariwisata Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan studi penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, di mana melalui pendekatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai fakta dan fenomena yang terjadi dilapangan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian ditemukan potensi dan karakteristik kawasan yang mendukung dalam pengembangan Kawasan Cigondewah sebagai Kawasan Wisata Tesktil di Kota Bandung. Terkait dengan prasarana dan sarana lingkungan ditemukan permasalahan, antara lain: ketersediaan sarana parkir dan jalur pedestrian yang kurang memadai, kondisi kawasan yang belum tertata secara maksimal.Kata-kata Kunci: Lingkungan Terbangun, Perkembangan KawasanCIGONDEWAH AREA RELATED TO ENVIRONMENT BUILT INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES AS SENTRA CLOTH IN BANDUNG CITY The Cigondewah area was originally an agrarian area, and the region has been progressing towards the trading center of textile fabrics and industry since 1960-1976 which is marked by the burlap sack by the local community. This home industry-based economic activity contributes the income to the locals in particular, since the labor comes from around Cigondewah urban village itself. Initially, this sack business was purchased from a sugar factory which was then marketed to Kawarang and Banten. In 1976 experienced saturation, which then the local community shifted from the business of burlap sack to industrial waste (plastic bags and used cloth). In early 1997 the cigondewah area was able to serve as a fabric trading center. This center serves buyers who come from Bandung and sekitasrnya. Textile raw materials come from existing factories in the area, but some come from Jakarta through the port of Tanjung Priok. This area in RTRW Bandung is environmentally friendly industrial area. The development of this area provides a wide potential especially in its development as an area that has excellent products / specialization in coverage of tourism development plan of Bandung City. This research is a descriptive research study using a qualitative approach, which through this approach aims to provide an overview of the facts and phenomena that occur in the field. Based on the results of research analysis found the potential and characteristics of the area that supports the development of Cigondewah Area as Tourism Area Tesktil in Bandung. Related to infrastructure and environmental facilities found problems, among others: the availability of parking facilities and pedestrian paths are inadequate, the condition of the area that has not been set up optimally. Resumen
Despite the many efforts to propose effective career development solutions and career satisfaction in the hospitality industry, issues of staff retention and rising turnover continue to surface. The need for quality employees who consider hospitality a long-term career is of paramount importance. If employers wish to retain existing talent and also attract new talent, they have to know their employees’ key characteristics. Until now the industry has preferred to recruit using competencies and task proficiency or specific technical expertise and job aptitude. Passion, sensitivity, team-oriented attitude, emotional self-control, and professional ethics have been identified as characteristics of professionalism within the hospitality industry. What remains unknown are the individual qualities that make a hospitality employee ‘professional’. To identify the new indicators of what constitutes a hospitality ‘professional’, an extensive review [1] of previous academic research was undertaken in these five areas: the hospitality environment [2, 3]; understanding professionalism [4]; self-efficacy (the power of believing in one’s own capabilities) [5]; career inheritance (career as inherited from one’s family) [6]; and career commitment (the emotional attachment to one’s career) [7]. This resulted in identifying three common characteristics of a hospitality professional: hospitality self-efficacy; hospitality career commitment; and hospitality career inheritance. A hospitality professional has high levels of hospitality self-efficacy, which means having the confidence to achieve a particular task or an outcome; in this case, a successful hospitality career. A committed hospitality professional self-directs their career path by taking charge of their career goals to improve their skills, career prospects and achieve promotions. Such an individual is also willing to learn and treats challenges as obstacles to be overcome, rather than as threats. Hospitality becomes an inherited part of their life and their career identity. This requires having the ability to thrive on the very nature of the industry, which is dynamic, exciting and ever-changing. The hospitality career inheritance is such a significant part of their life for hospitality professionals that it represents their ability to identify with hospitality beyond their working lives. This, in turn, is likely to compensate them for certain conditions of the job such as working long hours, but also to contribute to increased levels of hospitality career commitment. In times of increased changes in organisations, related to diversified workforce, globalisation and technological advancements, having a career is likely to have a positive influence on hospitality professionals who can exercise the most control over this part of their professional lives. In an industry known for its high staff turnover, a committed hospitality professional is an asset to both an organisation and the industry as a whole. Knowledge of the key characteristics of a hospitality professional has implications for human resource management in the hospitality industry. Diversity of roles, being challenged and using their skills is what drives and motivates career-driven hospitality professionals to perform and develop an emotional attachment to their career. This requires, from the managers, a genuine understanding of the nature of hospitality, and what hospitality means to each professional. Together, the three professional characteristics are also considered a strong predictor of a person’s desire to contribute to the successful performance of a hospitality business. Therefore, to meet the identified shortage of hospitality managers, the industry needs to attract hospitality professionals who are committed, emotionally attached to hospitality, and who exhibit high levels of self-confidence. e4912046This scoping exploratory review was aimed at analyzing the challenges that the so-called post-truth world represents for teaching in Ibero-Latin American higher education. With the increased access to online information media and social networks, netizens are increasingly exposed and may be more vulnerable to false or misleading information that seeks to generate action from emotions rather than reason (GOSWAMI, 2017, Chronicle of Higher Education). The reference search was carried out in the databases of SciELO and La Referencia, from which 26 titles out of 196 were selected. Combinations of terms such as social media, post-truth, fake news, fact-checking, education, higher education, university, teaching, critical thinking, and freedom of expression were used, with the Boolean “Y” connector. The analysis of the references resulted in six thematic categories: main concepts; realms of fake news; news verification initiatives and methods; theoretical analysis and its relationship with education; studies on the factors, perception and credibility of fake news; and addressing misinformation in higher education. The discussion presents the draft of a proposed pedagogical model to be used in higher education and to address misinformation. Includes: critical thinking habits, democratic dialogue, intellectual skepticism, research skills, use of reliable sources of information, and analysis from multiple perspectives.ResumoEsta revisão exploratória de escopo teve como objetivo analisar os desafios que o chamado mundo pós-verdade representa para o ensino na educação superior ibero-americana. Com o aumento do acesso às mídias de informação online e redes sociais, os internautas estão cada vez mais expostos e podem ficar mais vulneráveis a informações falsas ou enganosas que buscam gerar ações a partir de emoções ao invés da razão (GOSWAMI, 2017, Chronicle of Higher Education). A busca das referências foi realizada nas bases de dados SciELO e La Referencia, das quais foram selecionados 26 títulos em 196. Combinações de termos como mídia social, pós-verdade, notícias falsas, checagem de fatos, educação, ensino superior, universidade, ensino, pensamento crítico e liberdade de expressão foram usadas, com o conector booleano “Y”. A análise das referências resultou em seis categorias temáticas: conceitos principais; escopos de notícias falsas; iniciativas e métodos de verificação de notícias; análise teórica e sua relação com a educação; estudos sobre os fatores, percepção e credibilidade das notícias falsas; e aproximação a desinformação no ensino superior. A discussão apresenta o esboço de uma proposta de modelo pedagógico para ser usado no ensino superior e para lidar com a desinformação. La búsqueda de referencias se efectuó en las bases de datos de SciELO y La Referencia, de la cual se seleccionaron 26 títulos de 196. Se usaron combinaciones de términos como redes sociales, posverdad, noticias falsas, verificación de hechos, educación, educación superior, universidad, enseñanza, pensamiento crítico y libertad de expresión, con el conector booleano “Y”. El análisis de las referencias dio como resultado seis categorías temáticas: conceptos principales; ámbitos de las noticias falsas; iniciativas y métodos de verificación de noticias; análisis teóricos y su relación con la educación; estudios sobre factores, percepción y credibilidad de las noticias falsas; y abordaje de la desinformación en la educación superior. En la discusión se presenta el borrador de un modelo pedagógico propuesto para ser utilizado en la educación superior y abordar la desinformación. We present a strengthening of the countable Menger's theorem of R. Aharoni. Let $ D=(V,A) $ be a countable digraph with $ s\neq t\in V $ and let $\mathcal{M}=\bigoplus_{v\in V}\mathcal{M}_v $ be a matroid on $ A $ where $ \mathcal{M}_v $ is a finitary matroid on the ingoing edges of $ v $. We show that there is a system of edge-disjoint $ s \rightarrow t $ paths $ \mathcal{P} $ such that the united edge set of these paths is $ \mathcal{M} $-independent, and there is a $ C \subseteq A $ consisting of one edge from each element of $\mathcal{P} $ for which $ \mathsf{span}_{\mathcal{M}}(C) $ covers all the $ s\rightarrow t $ paths in $ D $.

The problem of finding monotone paths between two given points has useful applications in path planning, and in particular, it is useful to look for minimum link paths. We are given a simple polygon P or a polygonal domain D with n vertices and a triplet of input parameters: (s, t, d), where s and t are two points in the plane and d is any direction. We show how to answer a query for the existence of a d-monotone path between s and t inside P (or D) in logarithmic time after preprocessing P in O(En) time, or D in O(En + ERlogR) time, where E is the size of the visibility graph of P (or D), and R is the number of reflex vertices in D. Our approach is based on the novel idea utilizing the dual graph of the trapezoidal map of P (or D). For polygonal domains, our approach uses a trapezoidal map associated with each visibility edge of D, and we show how to compute this large set of trapezoidal maps efficiently. Furthermore, we show how to output a minimum linkd-monotone path between points s and t, for an arbitrary input triplet (s, t, d).

AbstractWe show that every $\mathbb {R}^{d}$ ℝ d -valued Sobolev path with regularity α and integrability p can be lifted to a weakly geometric rough path in the sense of T. Lyons with exactly the same regularity and integrability, provided α > 1/p > 0. Moreover, we prove the existence of unique rough path lifts which are optimal w.r.t. strictly convex functionals among all possible rough path lifts given a Sobolev path. This paves a way towards classifying rough path lifts as solutions of optimization problems. As examples, we consider the rough path lift with minimal Sobolev norm and characterize the Stratonovich rough path lift of a Brownian motion as optimal lift w.r.t. a suitable convex functional. Generalizations of the results to Besov spaces are briefly discussed.
