Resumen
Retail industry is an important source of self employment in India since a long ago. As change is the important rule of the environment. So, today, we can also see a drastic change in the retail industry too. Today, retail industry has been segregated into two parts i.e. unorganized retail industry and organized retail industry. Unorganized retail industry includes traditional kirana stores which are not registered and have not to follow any bulk of legal formalities. Organized retailing is the retailing in which the retail shop is centrally run by the registered retailer with few employees providing comfort and self service facility to the customers which attract the customers towards it. Besides, all the facilities provided by the organized retailers, customers are still attracted towards unorganized retailers too. There are different facilities and services available to the customers in unorganized retailing and organized retailing. The present study is an attempt to assess consumer preference and perception in organized retail outles in Coimbatore district.

Resumen
This research paper delves into the complex relationship between the organized and unorganized retail sectors in India, focusing on their coexistence and the impact of the former on the latter. Through a comprehensive analysis, the study reveals that the organized retail sector does indeed have an adverse impact on unorganized retail businesses. Respondents, primarily comprising unorganized retailers, report challenges in profitability, customer footfall, product offerings, and overall business growth. However, the research uncovers a promising aspect – the willingness of unorganized retailers to embrace specific measures to mitigate this impact. They express readiness to adopt technology, collaborate with peers, diversify product offerings, and enhance the overall shopping experience. These proactive measures hold the potential to empower unorganized retailers to compete effectively and coexist with organized retail.

Resumen
This study conducted in the year 2023 aimed to compare consumer preferences for various food retail formats in Tirupati city, focusing on organized and unorganized sectors, and to identify factors influencing their choices. A representative sample of 120 consumers was selected using simple random sampling, and primary data was collected through personal interviews. The findings revealed that 73.33 percent of the consumers in showed a moderate perception of both organized (62.50%) and unorganized (73.33%) food retail formats. Kirana stores (unorganized) and supermarkets (organized) were the preferred choices for purchasing food and groceries. The reasons for preferring organized retail formats included a wide range of products and better product presentation, while unorganized retail formats were favoured for more bargaining opportunities and locally sourced products. Income levels were found to influence retail format choices, with lower-income groups more likely to shop at unorganized formats. The SWOT analysis indicated that organized stores benefit from a wide range of products but face competition from unorganized formats and online platforms, while, unorganized stores build strong customer relationships but struggle with limited product variety and changing consumer preferences.

Resumen
Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and grocery products, such as soaps, shampoos, detergents, biscuits, and so on, are the most basic and necessary needs for which the consumer frequents the market. We are all aware that in today's retail environment organized retailing coexists with the traditional model of the retail industry in the shape of local Kiryana stores. This research work is merely an attempt to investigate which format of retail sector consumers prefer to visit in response to such frequent needs. What are the main categorical characteristics that influence format selection, and is there any gender-related variation in format selection boarded? It was also investigated whether switching to a more ordered manner enhanced their overall spending. Finally, the study will look into popular retail shops as well as local Kiryana stores in different demographic groups across India. The responses of 256 people were gathered for this purpose. The percentage quote and independent samples t-test were used to examine the simple average. When needed, pie charts and bar graphs are also taken into account.

Resumen
Retail sector is the booming sector in global and Indian economy. The Indian retail industry is divided into organized and unorganized sectors. The Indian retail sector is highly fragmented with 97% of its business being run by the unorganized retailers like the traditional family run stores and corner stores. This is the right time to know the quality of rural retailers. This study focuses on the rural retailer’s quality level through SERVPERF measuring scale (Croin, 1992). The tool was applied for 385 respondents from rural area in Dindigal District, Tamil Nadu. This research describe that most of the rural people are dissatisfied with the rural retailer services. At the same time qualification of the respondents and their position in the society play a major role to determine the attitude towards satisfaction. The rural retailer improves competiveness among them, and then only they will compete with organized retailer.

Resumen
The goal of this study is to identify and evaluate key success factors (CSF) for unorganized retail supply chain management (UORSCM). The interpretative structural modelling (ISM) approach is applied for analyzing the CSFs. In India, the unorganized fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) retail sector occupies a sizable amount of space and makes a significant GDP contribution. A total of 13 CSFs are analyzed, and to determine their driving and dependency power, MICMAC analysis is carried out. The outcome demonstrates that unorganized retailing suffers a variety of difficulties, like, the arrival of new competitors, product substitution, supplier problems, buyer threats, an increase in organized retailers, and co-manufacturer threats, in developing country settings. The factors with the highest positive impact are service quality in FMCG retail, time management at stores, product quality, and spoilage adjustment in retail. The factors, service quality in retail, time management at stores, and product quality have resulted in the highest driving power and lowest dependence power to attain the desired performance of UORSCM. The study’s findings also indicate that by focusing on these factors, unorganized retailers can efficiently handle customers.

Resumen
India’s retail and logistics industry, organized and unorganized in combination, employs about 40 million Indians 3.3% of Indian population The typical Indian retail shops are very small. Over 14 million outlets operate in the country and only 4% of them being larger than 500 sq. ft. in size. India has about 11 shop outlets for every 1000 people. Vast majority of the unorganized retail shops in India employ family members, do not have the scale to procure or transport products at high volume wholesale level, have limited to no quality control or fake-versus- uthentic product screening technology and have no training on safe and hygienic storage, packaging or logistics. The unorganized retail shops source their products from a chain of middlemen who mark up the product as it moves from farmer or producer to the consumer. The unorganized retail shops typically offer no after-sales support or service. Finally, most transactions at unorganized retail shops are done with cash, with all sales being final. But there are only few Classes of people who go to Mall for their products, to meet the necessity of living in cities. Most of the people in our country occasionally go to the Mall to enjoy ethnic and to show off their life style. The main purpose of this study is to identify some key drivers of customer satisfaction on Mall services. The study covers the opinion of Mall goers in Bangalore city. Resumen
The increased globalization and purchasing power of people led an increase in organized retail outlets across the country. India, is now, one among the largest retail outlets shopping places in Asia. More consumers are buying the products through these outlets to get brand value, discounts, quality and also a matter of social status. The products are available to all levels of consumers at moderate rates and sometimes the companies are giving additional benefits or discounts to attract more consumers from unorganized to organized retail outlets. No doubt, the unorganized retail outlets are the most preferred shops for most of the consumers but yet, the organized outlets want to diversify them towards their shopping culture by incentivizing various schemes, policies. Consumer buying behavior is something which is not constant and one can not predict the same at all times. It will change based on various factors which are internal, external, psychological and emotional. One of the basic factors that will impact buying behavior is Gender. It is quite evident and natural that the buying habits of women are entirely different from men. Men, mostly not interested to spend more time shopping. They make decisions quickly. In contrast, women have more patience and relative judgment in buying the products in shopping. The tendency of these behaviors has been probed for research on gender based study on organized retail outlets shopping. This paper throws light on the impact of gender on buying behavior by analyzing the primary data obtained from a sample survey. The study reveals some interesting facts and also establishes the close association among the different variables in the study.

Abstract : Background: Physical activity (PA) infrastructures such as parks and cycle lanes can provide youth opportunities to engage in physical activity. As the determinants of organized and unorganized PA (OPA and UPA) are likely to differ, we investigated if proximity to PA infrastructure was associated with maintenance of participation in OPA and UPA over 3 years during the transition from childhood to adolescence. Methods: Youth (n=187) initially 10-12 years self-reported participation in OPA and UPA at 4 month intervals over 3 years for a total of nine survey cycles. Data on proximity to PA infrastructures was obtained from parents through phone-based questionnaires. Proximity scores were divided into tertiles. Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional hazard models were used to assess univariate and multivariate associations between proximity to PA infrastructure and number of cycles in which OPA and UPA were maintained. Results: There were no crude or adjusted differences in average duration of maintenance of participation in OPA [mean number of survey cycle participation (95% confidence interval) was 6.6 (5.7, 7.5), 6.3 (5.5, 7.1), and 5.8 (5.1, 6.6)] and UPA [6.8 (6.2, 7.4), 5.9 (5.3, 6.5), 6.6 (5.9, 7.3)] across low, moderate and high tertiles of proximity to PA infrastructure scores, respectively. Conclusion: Findings are suggestive that proximity to PA infrastructure alone does not affect maintenance of participation in OPA or UPA during adolescence. Other aspects of the environment may have a greater effect. Thus, further research is needed on these aspects before firm conclusions can be drawn.

KLEISS, JAMES ALAN. "THE ROLE OF ATTENTION IN PROCESSING ORGANIZED AND UNORGANIZED MULTI-OBJECT DISPLAYS". Thesis, 1986. http://hdl.handle.net/1911/16077.

Texto completo
Resumen
Recent attention research indicates that attention must focus narrowly on the location of a stimulus before that stimulus can be identified. Focal attention has also been shown to play an important role in the process of localizing and integrating the basic features of stimuli. Although this suggests that little information is available without focal attention, there is picture perception research which suggests that important information is available by means of a global process that is sensitive to the meaningful relationships that exist among objects in scenes. In an attempt to reconcile this discrepancy, attention was focused on a target object while the organization of the surrounding background objects was varied. In Experiment 1, there was general interference from the presence of background objects in the visual field, but no indication that the identities or spatial organization of those objects affected performance. In Experiments 2 and 3, the objects were moved closer together to form more coherent displays. In these two experiments, there was evidence that both the identities and the spatial organization of background objects affected performance. The effects generally persisted even after attention was focused on the target. The processing of unorganized background objects was more affected by attentional manipulations than the processing of organized background objects suggesting that information in organized scenes is, at least in part, available by means of a process that is independent of focal attention.

This paper is based on an XP 2020 panel organized by Steven Fraser and featuring Aino Corry, Steve McConnell, and Rachel Reinitz. The panel discussed the impact of COVID-19 on knowledge workers, the acceleration of digital workplace transformation, and anticipated long term effects from the pandemic in the context of agile practices. Four key observations emerged from the discussion: First, virtual collaboration between those working from home is enabled by a variety of communication tools – substituting for face-to-face interactions. Second, agile work practices are harder to perform given the virtual nature of meetings and interactions. Third, communication tools are not always adequate for high-bandwidth or informal interactions, such as brainstorming, side discussions, or hallway conversations. Fourth, forming new teams and onboarding staff is challenging in a virtual work environment.

Resumen
India has one of the largest bases of small- and medium-sized enterprises around the world after China, and it provides several benefits to the Indian economy in terms of generating a vast range of employment opportunities, innovation of new self-reliance technologies, aiding export growth, socio-economic growth, and rural development, which supports the nation-building. Consumers are using the power of digital technologies and e-commerce; this is the time to measure the propensity of business-to-business (e-commerce) adoption among unorganized retailers. Some studies measured the e-commerce impacts on customers, impacts on organized retailers, and impacts on unorganized retailers. In addition, some other studies concentrated on assessing the unorganized retail SME performance, competition, issues, and challenges. However, studies related to measuring e-commerce acceptance by unorganized retailers are relatively low. This chapter aims to measure the nuances of business-to-business (e-commerce) propensity among unorganized retailers.

Resumen
Abstract In the oil and gas industry, extracting relevant information for new projects often involves scrolling through a large unorganized or semi-organized unstructured electronic repository of unstructured documents inside an enterprise. However, the digital availability of these unstructured documents and their proper characterization with respect to E&P domain objects remain a significant challenge. To address this issue, we developed an - "AI-based unstructured document geotagging solution" that utilizes text mining, optical character recognition (OCR), natural language processing (NLP), and named entity recognition (NER) to extract entity relations for spatial E&P objects and document category (for example well completion, log data print, daily drilling report etc.) from documents content autonomously. We employed popular language models spaCy, Roberta-base, GPT2 and GPT3.5 and compared the results. The extracted information was then linked to a structured database that contained geo-locations. The solution was developed using the company specific data sciences platform but is capable of being deployed for an operator on-premises or in the cloud. The end-to-end solution can be integrated with any GIS-based dashboard solution, allowing user to select objects from the map and the model can predict related documents to the objects along with document category. This solution will allow user to obtain an organized list of related documents out of electronic repository with unorganized collection of uncharacterized documents, which will allow the user to prioritize and deploy only content of interest to be ingested to the insight and analytics system often hosted in cloud environment.

The full cycle of marshmallow production is considered including the preparation of production batches, processing and processing of raw materials, as well as the production of confectionery directly. These and other processes taking place at the plant are sources of air pollution. The plant has 58 sources of pollutant emissions of which 52 organized and 6 unorganized, 3 stationary sources of emissions are equipped with gas-fired gas. The main pollutants are: nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, sugar dust. More than 90% of the dust emitted by sugar, which has explosive properties, is formed in processes not equipped with gas-explosives so it is recommended to install them.

Resumen
The acquisition of datasets is typically a laborious task. It is challenging, especially if the required annotations in every image in the dataset are vast. It is even more challenging if the inter-class variance, the visual difference between two distinct classes, is low. Retail product recognition constitutes an example of both issues. Products are densely packed on shelves, resulting in many objects within an image. Products share visual similarities, which makes them hard to distinguish. In this work, we propose Annotron, a tool tackling the acquisition problem in this domain. Exploiting dataset struc- tures, such as being organized in consecutive frames, we detect real-world objects through pre-trained detectors and reproject detections to generate candidate traces over time. Further, we aid labelers by computing poten- tial matches of real-world objects and reference images based on their visual similarity: We cluster consecutive detections based on a large set of reference images using embeddings acquired from pre-trained networks. Using the proposed tool reduces manual efforts drastically by diminishing the time spent on repetitive, error-prone tasks. We evaluate Annotron in the retail recognition domain. The domain is commonly considered fine-grained, which means that instance-level annotations are costly due to the described problems. We refine the given dataset, surpass the number of previously found stock-keeping units, and label over 446.500 individual bounding boxes.

Resumen
The phenomenon of a bazaar, a permanent platform and the institute of trade exchange of direct producers and buyers, is almost eternal and universal. It is obvious, however, that each society generates its own bazaar model, where along with the invariant there are special qualities and characteristics. The Russian bazaar of the 20th – early 21st century qualitatively differs from such axiomatic types as “Oriental bazaar” or “European market”. With the constant change from calm to emergency situations in the country, it plays an important function of the mechanism of survival and self-organization of society in the conditions of the catastrophic collapse of the highly organized system of wholesale, retail, credit, logistics of a quiet time when the bazaar was an important but modest part of this system. Another important characteristic that requires special analysis is the universality and at the same time the unnoticeability of the bazaar, it’s extremely inconsequential presence both in the area of public attention and in scientific discourse.

Resumen
Bezier functions, which are Bezier curves constrained to behave like functions, are excellent for representing smooth and continuous function of high degree, over the entire range of the independent variable. They provide excellent solutions to systems of linear, nonlinear, ordinary and partial differential equations. In this paper we examine their usefulness for data approximation as a prelude to their use in solving the inverse problem. Bezier function and B-splines, which are related, have mostly been used in geometrical modeling. There are not many examples of their use in data analysis. In this paper, organized and unorganized data are used to illustrate the effectiveness of Bezier functions for data approximation, reduction, mining, transformation, and prediction. Two criteria are used for the overall data fitting process. A simple incremental strategy identifies the order of the function using the minimum of the sum of the absolute error over all data. For a given order of the function, the least squared error over all data identifies the Bezier function through a non iterative algebraic relation. The entire data can then be represented by the coefficients of the Bezier function. Alternately, the data can also be reduced to a polynomial based on a parameter varying between 0 and 1. The Bezier function is global over all of the data so that all data points, including interpolated data, have the same properties. Three important properties are explicit is using Bezier functions for data analysis. The mean of the original data and the approximate data are the same. Large orders of polynomials can be used without local distortion. The independent and dependent variables can be decoupled by the Bezier representation. The data fitting process can also filter noisy data to recover principal data behavior.

Resumen
What happens when a university leaves its campus and enter spaces that seem reserved for completely different functions and areas of life - such as shopping? What opportunities and potentials arise from such a shift for the dialog between science and society? Is it an innovative way for science communication to reach groups other than the education-oriented middle class? What skills do academics need to succeed in such a setting? These and similar questions formed the starting point of the Berlin project “Mall Anders - Open Learning Lab for Science and Society”. For seven months in 2021/22, TU Berlin used a retail space in a shopping mall to test new ways of communicating science and co-producing knowledge in a dialogue between the university, business, civil society, politics, and culture. The relocation of university life to a public shopping center enabled broad public involvement in teaching and learning, high activating potential in overcoming the rifts between university and society and new impulses for science communication, participatory research, and student-organized teaching.

Resumen
The present article is devoted to the problems of integrated coastal zone management. This research highlights the lack of a conceptual apparatus in Russian modern legislative acts. A comparison of Russian regulatory legal acts with foreign ones regulating the activities of integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) has been carried out. The factors constraining the development of beach tourism are selected in this research. The coastal zone and its ICZM are reviewed in Russian, US, and EU legislation. The attention is paid to the necessity to take the legal acts to control the coastal territories. Nowadays the coastal stripes attract economic resource as well as tourist resource. Currently the tourism industry is actively developing. More and more people are involved in organized and unorganized tourist activities. We can often watch tourists on vacation in various coastal areas. And these areas are often unorganized (or illegal) tourist sites. Inefficient and irrational use of the shores leads to severe environmental pollution, degradation of shores. This problem is very relevant, because the absence of such a regulatory act means the inability to regulate sufficiently the use of coastal strips for economic and tourist purposes. It should be noted that there is no comprehensive regulatory legal act that would comprehensively regulate tourist activities in the Russian legislation. A situation of misunderstanding is likely when solving the same issues by various organizations, nature users and the public without developing a clear conceptual apparatus. One of the important problems that must be overcome is to find a balance between the interests of users of nature, society and the possible tourist load on coastal areas without losing its natural landscape.

En Beyond sustainability reflections across spaces. Faculty of Architecture Research Unit, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.31705/faru.2021.10.

Resumen
Informality is an inevitable ingredient in an urban environment. The ‘formally’ established urban built environments are informally shaped by people for the appropriation of spaces for their activities. Within dominant institutionalized urban planning processes, such informalities are often regarded as ‘nuisances’, ‘out-of-place’, and ‘misfits’ in urban spaces. Yet, informally organized spaces are as important as formal spaces for the vitality, equity, and sustainability of all types of urban environments. People's processes in the creation and operation of informal spaces, resisting, contesting, and negotiating the dominant formal networks, have been the subject of many scholarly works over the last few decades, but a lack of empirical work and informative case studies on the subject has distanced mainstream planners and urban designers from learning and integrating such informal space production into institutionalized urban development processes. In order to mend this gap and reorient the prevalent understanding among planning professionals, a people’s endeavor in Puttalam town in Sri Lanka to form and sustain informal spaces is presented in this paper. The paper elaborates on the ‘self-organizing’ behaviour of the small-scale retail vendors and the day-to-day users of the city to withstand interventions by the authorities on the public market space of the town.

Resumen
Food waste is a growing global concern, with the attention of major global organizations focusing on monitoring and finding solutions to optimize it. According to the latest data published by the National Institute of Public Health on this topic (2019), in Romania, food waste is estimated at 6,000 tons per day 49% from households, 37% from the food industry, 7% from retail, 5 % of public catering and 2% of the agricultural sector. In this context, it was proposed to implement a system based on reducing waste and waste as much as possible in an institution in the food industry. This system involves reducing losses to improve business performance and optimizing production with the motivation of the idea "produce more, consume less" and as a method the concept of solving problems from cause to root. The current study involved the implementation and follow-up of several procedures leading to the desired results, these being: VSM - Value Flow Mapping, 5S - the method of obtaining in 5 steps, a clean, organized and standardized work environment that makes the problems visible and eliminates waste, TPM - Total Productive Maintenance (MA - Autonomous Maintenance, MP - Planned Maintenance), SMED - reduction of change times, standardized work and continuous improvement. Reducing waste generates additional resources (time, space, money) that can be used to improve processes, so the main goals we focused on were reducing waste, increasing process flexibility, maintaining quality at the highest level, and training and staff development to achieve the desired results. The 5S, TPM and SMED implementation pilot project aimed at a P2 production line in the first stage, resulting in it is possible to work on the standards of autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, and the 5S procedure established a clean work area with clean equipment, a space well organized in such a way as to reduce the risk of contamination and work in batches to reduce their waste. For the TPM procedure, it was concluded that it helps to keep the machines in good condition, the problems are reported in time to be solved to avoid major failures, critical which can further endanger the safety of the product thus rejecting the batch in question. The SMED principle aims to change the format, with a clear standard, reduces the risk of mistakes. A standardized process guarantees quality by: operating procedures are known to all operators, if a problem occurs, the deviation from the standard can be easily measured, problem-solving methods are implemented, a troubleshooting standard is set for each problem and quality issues are minimized.

Resumen
With the huge variables ushering in the Chinese takeaway market “COVID-19 pandemic”, there are more sinking user markets that continue to flood into it and the takeaway industry is booming. After the epidemic, the meaning of the word "takeaway" was extended from catering to food delivery, medicine delivery, and all kinds of necessities, and the takeaway delivery gradually accompanied the new retail consumption habits developed by users during the epidemic. In the whole service system of take-out delivery, with the increasing number of take-out delivery personnel, the take-out delivery e-bikes used are still ordinary travel e-bikes, lacking consideration and design of user behavior and usage scenarios. In the context of the new national standard "electric bicycle safety technical specifications" policy, there are still many takeaway delivery using electric bicycles do not meet the specifications, due to the delivery of limited time to arrive, a one-time delivery of overloaded goods and other cases of traffic accidents caused by frequent. This study introduces the KANO model and hierarchical analysis and TRIZ theory to study the real needs of users, and seeks to conduct innovative design research on take-away delivery electric bicycles. In the preliminary stage of the study, the secondary data research method was used to conduct preliminary summary research on a variety of businesses extending from the take-out industry, and the delivery process of riders in the take-out industry service system after receiving orders was derived through observation, interview, focus group discussion, and questionnaire research methods. Based on the KANO model framework to classify and prioritize user requirements, the non-linear relationship between product features and user satisfaction is identified based on the analysis of the impact of user requirements on user satisfaction. Recognize product and service requirements from the user's perspective, design and publish a valid questionnaire, summarize and classify the survey results, and build a quality model. Further research and analysis of the quality model to identify the sensitivity of specific measurement indicators. Combined with the hierarchical analysis method, the elements within the same level are compared in two-by-two analysis to determine their respective weights for the previous level, and finally give the importance ranking of all factors relative to the total goal, and finally tap into the real user needs. The TRIZ theory is then used to provide systematic theoretical and methodological tools for problem transformation, analysis and solution of needs creatively using innovative thinking methods and problem analysis methods, following the laws of technological system evolution. The KANO model and hierarchical analysis method are effectively combined with TRIZ theory to gradually quantify the qualitative analysis, which can generate more objective research data conclusions and provide innovative ideas for the design research of electric bicycle for delivery. In this study, the different needs of users are organized and differentiated in a hierarchical manner through KANO model analysis, combined with different emotional hierarchical need points of users. Predict the direction of users' emotional needs for the product, and match their emotional requirements with the product at different levels. Combined with the interview research, the design study was conducted taking into account the human-machine factors for the take-away delivery electric bicycle. In line with the new national standard policy, the delivery time of the rider is guaranteed at the same time, the area of the delivery goods and pick-up efficiency is improved, and the riding experience and safety of the rider are also taken into account. This is a research exploration of the takeaway delivery industry. This study combines the KANO model, hierarchical analysis and TRIZ theory to design a study on the process of users for take-out delivery. Through an in-depth study of user behavior, combined with the quantitative study of hierarchical analysis, different levels of demand are derived. Then, through TRIZ theory and emotional design, the take-out delivery service system was optimized and the innovative design of the take-out delivery bicycle was studied. In this study, based on the KANO model approach, the visual experience is designed from the appearance and user experience, giving the electric bicycle emotional factors to form a design that meets the user's needs. The whole design process also explored the correlation between design emotional needs and design form. The design solution evaluation results verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the KANO model approach to user needs analysis in product design and provided an effective solution for the design innovation of electric bicycle for take-away delivery.
