Resumen
Orientation-patterned gallium phosphide (OP-GaP) has been grown heteroepitaxially on OP gallium arsenide (GaAs) templates using hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE). The effect of OP-GaAs template fabrication methods of epitaxial-inversion and wafer bonding on the heteroepitaxial OP-GaP growth has been investigated. OP-GaP layers with a growth rate of up to 35 µm/h and excellent domain fidelity were obtained. The growth rate and the domain fidelity have been revealed/studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM). In addition, we demonstrate that the crystalline quality of the individual domains, namely, the substrate-oriented domains (ODs) and the inverted domains (IDs), can be investigated by high-resolution x-ray diffraction reciprocal space mapping (HRXRDRSM), which can also indicate the domain fidelity. Attempts to increase the growth rate and improve the domain fidelity by increasing the III and V group precursors resulted in either an increase in the growth rate in the OP-GaP layers grown on epitaxial inversion OP-GaAs template at the expense of the domain crystalline quality and fidelity or an improvement in the crystalline quality of the domains at the expense of the growth rate in the OP-GaP layers grown on wafer-bonded OP-GaAs templates. In the case of OP-GaP grown on OP-GaAs templates prepared by epitaxial inversion, the crystalline quality of the ODs is better than that of the IDs, but it shows that the quality of the inverted layer in the template influences the quality and fidelity of the grown domains. To the authors’ knowledge, exploitation of HRXRDRSM studies on OP-GaP to establish the crystalline quality of its individual domains (ODs and IDs) is the first of its kind. OP-ZnSe grown on OP-GaAs templates has also been included in this study to further emphasize the potential of this method. We propose from this study that once the growth rate is optimized from SEM studies, HRXRDRSM analysis alone can be used to assess the structural quality and to infer the domain fidelity of the OP structures.

Resumen
In the present study we evaluatedin vivoandin vitroeffects of 4-tert-octylphenol (OP) on the expression and distribution of adherens and gap junction proteins, N-cadherin,β-catenin, and connexin 43 (Cx43), in testes of seasonally breeding rodents, bank voles. We found that in bank vole testes expression and distribution of N-cadherin,β-catenin, and Cx43 were photoperiod dependent. Long-term treatment with OP (200 mg/kg b.w.) resulted in the reduction of junction proteins expressions (P<0.05,P<0.01) and their delocalization in the testes of males kept in long photoperiod, whereas in short-day animals slight increase of Cx43 (P<0.05), N-cadherin, andβ-catenin (statistically nonsignificant) levels was observed. Effects of OP appeared to be independent of FSH and were maintained duringin vitroorgan culture, indicating that OP acts directly on adherens and gap junction proteins in the testes. An experiment performed using an antiestrogen ICI 182,780 demonstrated that the biological effects of OP onβ-catenin and Cx43 involve an estrogen receptor-mediated response. Taken together, in bank vole organization of adherens and gap junctions and their susceptibility to OP are related to the length of photoperiod. Alterations in cadherin/catenin and Cx43-based junction may partially result from activation of estrogen receptorαand/orβsignaling pathway.

Resumen
In recent years, there has been a raging controversy regarding the orbital symmetry of the superconducting order parameter (OP) in the high temperature superconductors. Many experiments were interpreted in terms of a dx2-y2-wave OP, but many others were interpreted in terms of a more conventional s-wave OP. We review the problems of both intrinsic and extrinsic natures with the phase-sensitive experiments on YBCO. We further show that the photoemission experiments of the purported superconducting gap in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O 8+δ are entirely consistent with charge- and/or spin-density wave formation in that material. The presence of such density waves greatly complicates the analysis of most experiments. Hence, we conclude that the orbital symmetry of the superconducting OP is still unknown in any of the high temperature superconductors.

Resumen
There is a gap separating Kodály's Seven Pieces for Piano, op. 11 from his Nine Pieces for Piano, op. 3. The differences of style, structure, and texture cannot be explained in terms of development, let alone progress in any sense. With op. 11, Kodály undertakes a shift of paradigms from instrumental principles to a kind of vocal orientation within instrumental music. Op. 3 stands in the tradition of autonomous instrumental music, of Liszt and French music in particular, and displays similarities to early piano works by Bartók. In op. 11, that instrumental paradigm and its core principle of indirect expression are called into question. Instead Kodály aims at direct expression, vocality on the piano. Since a piano cannot sing, the pieces op. 11 can be seen as failing in terms of Classical-Romantic composing standards. This paper argues that in dealing with the distinction between instrumental and vocal music, Kodály takes up a major topic of Musical Modernism (Carl Dahlhaus) and exposes himself deliberately to the risky question of “When is Art?” (Nelson Goodman).

BackgroundPatients who have suffered fragility fractures are at an in-creased risk for subsequent fractures. The Osteoporosis (OP) Clinic at Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) was set up in July 2015 to screen, diagnose, and treat patients with fragility fractures. The goal of this study was to identify differences in OP screening and treatment initiation between patients seen in the OP clinic versus usual care.MethodsA retrospective cohort study and telephone interview was conducted on 40 patients who had sustained a hip fragility fracture between September 2015 and July 2016. 20 of those patients were referred to the OP clinic, while the remaining patients received usual care. ResultsAt the end of the intervention, 16/20 patients in the OP clinic group were appropriately placed on a bisphosphonate/RANKL inhibitor versus only 6/20 patients in the usual care group (p < .01).ConclusionsA significant care gap exists in secondary fracture prevention between the osteoporosis clinic and usual care groups. Better screening and subsequent intervention are needed for patients with fragility fractures. This study highlights the efficacy of an outpatient OP clinic in a community hospital setting.

Resumen
Abstract The development of the textile industry in Indonesia is rapid. It cause serious environmental problems because the dyes used in the textile industry are synthetic that is azo dyes. Azo dyes are non-biodegradable substances that pollute the environment if not processed. One of the azo dyes that is often used in the textile industry is Methyl Orange. Photodegradation is an inexpensive and environmentally friendly method of removing synthetic dyes. This study will discuss the effect of adding orange peel on the characterization of ZnO and the ability to degrade Methyl Orange. The results of the FTIR spectra showed an absorption in the area of 1430-1455 cm-1 that means the orange peel had been impregnated into ZnO and the more ZnO as added on orange peel, it may reduce the number of -OH and CH groups of the ZnO/OP composite. Based on the results of characterization using XRD, it is known that the addition of orange peel into ZnO did not damage the crystal structure and crystal form. The crystal structure of ZnO/OP formed was wurtzite with a hexagonal shape. The results of the characterization using DR-UV showed that the band gap energy of ZnO/OP was smaller than ZnO and the more ZnO was added, the wider the band gap of energy. ZnO/OP with a variation of 1:25 can degrade Methyl Orange more than ZnO that was 73% in 60 minutes.

It is shown by direct calculations that in a superconductor with a slightly violated d-wave symmetry of the order parameter (OP) the impurity driven phase transition from the gapless superconductivity to a state with a finite gap takes place at zero temperature. The corresponding scattering rate is close to the value at which the superconductivity vanishes in the d-superconductor. The behavior of the transition temperature, the OP and the density of states (DOS) is analyzed. The model is plausibly relevant to the BSCCO 2:2:1:2.

Resumen
Abstract We show that optical properties change when the fullerene structures of Au32, Cu32 and Ag32 inflate and deflate. We first observe significant differences in the extinction spectra employing a classical approach based on the Green’s dyadic method. By means of real-time time-dependent density functional theory. We continue to calculate the optical spectrum (OP) via a δ-kick simulation, comparing results with the ground-state energetic property the HOMO–LUMO (HL) gap. Red-shift of the OP is expected as the fullerenes inflate, with only ±10% change in the size. As the fullerene breathes, a 0.8 eV shift in the first peak position could be observed in the gold nanoparticle. Ag has a smoother behaviour than both Au and Cu. We have also found changes in the optical spectra can not be directly interpreted as a result of changes in the HL gap.

Resumen
This article integrates three central theories of optimism–pessimism (OP). The combination of the shared components of these theories – outcome expectancies, emotions, and behavioral intention – may produce an integrative academic achievement evaluation. Little has been written regarding the differentiation between general and domain-specific OP, a factor that is essential in describing the evaluation process of academic achievement. In this paper, we will examine this differentiation and discuss how an integrative model of the three theories is strengthened by two domains: (a) heuristic versus systematic processing styles and (b) the level of confidence in the accuracy of evaluating events. The gap between required confidence in high-personal-interest domains and actual confidence in moderate general OP influences systematic processing style and planned behavior. Based on these principles, an intervention program is suggested.

Resumen
Many companies are facing a constant need to develop coordination between operational functions to quickly respond to customer requests. Thus, many practitioners are resorting to an established and integrated business management methodology, the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). The impact of the S&OP on operational performance was significantly demonstrated in many studies. However, it turns out that the theoretical studies made differ from what is actually applied, in addition to several parameters that are considered in the calculations especially with regard to Japanese industries. So, how is S&OP operated in this industry? What are the different calculation parameters used? and how are the results obtained and analyzed? In this paper, we will first present a short literature review of S&OP and its role and benefits. Then, we present a model of S&OP used in a wire harnesses Japanese industry. The goal is to show first a concrete example, where we present the various parameters considered in the calculations, and then we will explain how the resulting graphs are analyzed by managers and what could be done as corrective actions in case of gap existing.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to draw upon the resource-based view of the firm to explore how a firm’s resources (assets and capabilities) such as culture of competitiveness (CC) and knowledge development (KD) relate to sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) and organizational performance (OP). Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 242 supply chain and logistics managers in Pakistan and a structured equation modeling approach was used. Findings The results of the study provide support for the proposed hypotheses and indicate that CC and KD are positively related to SSCM and OP. This points out that the organizations in Pakistan are likely to emphasize CC and KD to achieve OP. However, the positive but weak association of CC and KD with SSCM highlights that the organizations in Pakistan show less concern for SSCM. Originality/value The literature did not reveal any study which examined the relationships of the CC and KD to SSCM and OP in developing countries. The present study aims to address this gap in the literature.

Resumen
Purpose Emotion regulation (ER) has been identified as an important factor influencing psychological and health problems of adult populations. The purpose of this paper is to address a gap in the literature by examining available evidence relating to the use of ER strategies (avoidance, problem solving, reappraisal, rumination and suppression) on the well-being of older people (OP). Design/methodology/approach A systematic search for peer-reviewed articles published from 1985 to 2015 was conducted in PsycINFO, CINAHL, Medline, Psychological and Behavioural Sciences Collections and ASSIA and resulted in 1746 titles. In total, 20 studies met full inclusion criteria (the cross-sectional association between well-being and ER was reported, participants were 60 years or older, without cognitive impairment and the article was written in English, Portuguese or Spanish). Findings Rumination was found to be the ER strategy most strongly associated with symptoms of anxiety and depression in OP populations, while mixed result were found for avoidance, problem solving, suppression and reappraisal. Research limitations/implications Given the scarcity of research examining the association between ER and positive psychological concepts only a conclusion about ER and negative mood measures could be made. Questions for future research on ER and well-being in OP are proposed. Originality/value This paper addresses a significant gap in the literature regarding the use of ER strategies in older adults.

Resumen
The aim of this study is to compare the action of the cholinergic agonist, bethanechol, with the action of the octapeptide of cholecystokinin (CCK-OP) on feline circular colonic smooth muscle membrane potential and isometric tension, using the double sucrose gap. Depolarization of the membrane greater than 10 mV by K+ or bethanechol increased tension and spontaneous spike activity. CCK-OP (10(-9) M) depolarized the membrane (6.1 +/- 1.3 mV) without an increase in tension or spike activity. Depolarization of the membrane by increasing [K+]o was associated with a decrease in the membrane resistance. The slow-wave duration (2.3 +/- 0.2 s) was unchanged by administration of K+ or bethanechol but was prolonged after increasing concentrations of CCK-OP. The maximum effect occurred at a 10(-10) M concentration of CCK-OP (4.5 +/- 0.4 s, P less than 0.01). At higher concentrations of CCK-OP (greater than 10(-10) M), the slow-wave pattern became disorganized. Addition of increasing concentrations of [K+]o or bethanechol, but not CCK-OP, stimulated a concentration-dependent increase in the maximum rate of rise (dV/dtmax) of an evoked spike potential. These studies suggest 1) bethanechol decreased the membrane potential without altering the slow-wave activity, whereas CCK-OP has a minimal effect on the membrane potential but distorted the slow-wave shape; 2) an increased amplitude of the spike and dV/dtmax of the spike were associated with an increase in phasic contractions after bethanechol or increased [K+]o; 3) the lack of an increase in the spike amplitude and the dV/dtmax to CCK-OP was associated with no increase in phasic contraction.

Resumen
We report the tunneling conductance on a quadruple-layered cuprate, Ba 2 Ca 3 Cu 4 O 8( O 1-x F x)2 (2x~1.4, Tc~100 K ) that includes inequivalent outer (OP) and inner (IP) CuO 2 planes in a unit cell. Typical tunneling conductance displays the spectral dip structures as well as the superconducting gap (SCG) with clear coherence peaks. However we sometimes observe a pseudogap (PG) like structure without coherence peak at 4.2K. The magnitude of PG at 4.2K is larger than that of SCG at 4.2K and its conductance curve displays a faint structure at low energy. Therefore its origin would be different from that of small-PG observed at above Tc. In addition, we find that there are two kinds of SCGs that originate from IP and OP, and this result suggests that the superconducting property at IP is different from that at OP because of the imbalance of doped carrier between IP and OP. The observation of large PG at low temperature suggests the existence of some form of hidden ordered state at T<Tc and it would coexist with superconductivity.

Resumen
It is common practice to implement the elastoplastic Oliver and Pharr (OP) model to investigate the spatial and temporal variations of mechanical properties of engineered bone. However, the viscoelastoplastic (VEP) model may be preferred being envisaged to provide additional insights into the regeneration process, as it allows evaluating also the viscous content of bone tissue. In this work, the elastic modulus (ER), contact hardness (HC), hardness (H), and viscosity index (ηQ) of newly formed bone tissue regenerated at 4 and 12 weeks from the implantation of a macroporous hydroxyapatite scaffold in a rabbit femoral critical-size model were addressed and compared to the mechanical properties of preexisting bone. Indentation curves were fitted with both the OP and VEP models. The VEP model outlined a wider gap between the mechanical properties of native and regenerated tissue when compared to the OP model. In addition, the VEP model indicated an increase of the viscosity index from 4 to 12 weeks, supporting the evidence of a still active regeneration process. The reported results confirmed the higher ability of VEP model compared to the more diffused OP model to provide important insights into bone mechanical properties, also during the bone regeneration process.

The creative economy paradigm emphasizes the importance of ideas and intellectual property as an entrepreneurial prerequisite for being able to survive in fierce global competition. Today, an entrepreneur is required to create products with unique differences in power over competitors to stay alive in the industry. Organizational external and internal resources such as Information Technology (IT) and local culture are strategic asset sources that have an important role in building business performance. This study departs from the gap of research that is still inconclusive about the effect of IT on Organizational Performance (OP). The research direction offers novelty concepts from the perspective of resourcebased entrepreneurship theory. This paper offers the concept of Inimitable-based Innovative Entrepreneurship (IBIE),which in its ontology IBIE is the application of innovation distribution of product attributes sourced from the local nuances of design so that it becomes an iconic product that is difficult to emulate. The direction of this study will examine the concept of IBIE at the organizational level. The sample is 138 creative entrepreneurs who are SME owners who base their needs on design images that are always renewable. Hypothesis testing carried out shows empirically the IBIE variable has been able to act as a full mediation variable to bridge the gap between IT (Beta (β) = 0.747) and OP (β = 3.341). IBIE becomes a concept that fills the space of the influence of IT on OP in the body of knowledge in the entrepreneurship domain.

In our study we compared perichondrium and temporalis fascia in terms of graft uptake and hearing improvement. Materials and Methods All patients presenting with discharge from ear and decreased hearing were subjected to clinical examination and investigation. Patients satisfying inclusion criteria were included in study with total of 40 patients. Twenty underwent type1 tympanoplasty with temporalis fascia (TF) and another 20 patients with tragal perichondrium (TP). To evaluate success patients are evaluated at end of 6 months for graft uptake and 3 months for hearing results in audiological gain of 10 dB in two consecutive frequencies. Results Mean Pre-op AC Threshold in TF group was 30.75 dB±5.16 and Post-op AC Threshold was 14.15 dB±8.05. Mean Pre-op AC Threshold in TP group was 32.2 dB±4.81 and Post-op AC Threshold was 20.95 dB±7.14. Mean post-op AC Threshold, Mean Post-Op AB Gap and Mean Audiological Gain was statistically significant among 2 groups p=0.0075, p=0.0013, p=0.0294 respectively. Temporalis fascia was better than Tragal Perichondrium. Graft uptake in 2 groups was not significant (p=0.6325). Conclusion From the present study we may conclude that temporalis fascia, tragal perichondrium free grafts provide viable autograft material for tympanoplasty. Both achieve good hearing restoration but the improvement in hearing or audiological gain is better in temporalis fascia graft than in tragal perichondrium graft.

Resumen
<p>Polycrystalline cuprous oxide (P-Cu2O) films are deposited on Cu substrates for various (0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 mbar) oxygen pressures (OP) by thermal evaporator. The XRD pattern shows the development of Cu (200), Cu2O (200) and Cu2O (311) diffraction planes which confirms the deposition of P-Cu2O films. The intensity of Cu2O (200) and Cu2O (311) planes is associated with the increase of OP. The crystallite size and microstrains developed in (200) and (311) planes are found to be 19.31, 21.18, 11.32 nm; 22.04, 23.11, 12.08 nm and 0.113, 0.103, 0.193; 0.099, 0.096, 0.181 with increasing OP respectively. The d-spacing and lattice constant are found to be 0.210, 0.128 nm and 0.421, 0.425 nm respectively. The bond length of P-Cu2O film is found to be 0.255 nm. The crystallites/unit area of these planes is found to be 12.21, 7.46, 45.16 nm-2 and 8.21, 5.75, 37.16 nm-2 respectively. The texture coefficients of these planes are found to be 1.22, 1.26, 1.11 and 0.78, 0.74 and 0.56 with increasing OP respectively. The O and Cu contents are found to be 5.31, 5.92, 6.94 wt % and 83.01, 82.44, 80.65 wt % respectively. The thickness and growth rate of P-Cu2O films are found to be 87.9, 71.9, 65.5 nm and 17.6, 14.2, 13.1 (nm/min) with increasing OP respectively. The SEM micro-structures reveal the formations of patches of irregular shapes, rounded nano-particles, clouds of nano-particles and their distribution depend on the increasing OP. The refractive index and energy band gap of P-Cu2O films are found to be 1.96, 1.89, 1.92 and 2.47, 2.44 and 2.25 eV with increasing OP respectively.<br /><br /></p>

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop and empirically validate a model for assessing demand planning maturity in organisations. Design/methodology/approach The authors developed a maturity assessment model for demand planning through iterations of theoretical and empirical work, combining insights from literature and practitioners. An online survey is developed to validate the model using data from different industries. Findings The authors identify six dimensions of demand planning maturity: data management, the use of forecasting methods, the forecasting system, performance management, the organisation and people management. The empirical study indicates that demand data are well managed and organisation readiness is high, yet improvements in the forecasting system and the management of forecast performance are needed. The results show a positive relationship between the size of an organisation and its demand planning maturity. Practical implications The contribution of this work is to propose an assessment model and survey instrument for demand planning maturity. This will help the practitioner to understand the current level of maturity of the demand planning process, reflect on the desired level and develop action plans to close the gap. Originality/value There is broad literature on process maturity assessment in general and on sales and operations planning (S&OP) maturity in particular. However, there is no comprehensive model for assessing the maturity of demand planning, which is a specific and critical process within the overall S&OP process. The authors fill this gap by offering a demand planning maturity model.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the motivation and post-merger operating performance (OP) of European utility sectors following mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Design/methodology/approach Motives behind M&A are examined by looking into the relationships between total gains, target gains and acquirer gains. Post-merger OP is measured by comparing the sample of European utilities with a matched portfolio based on size and market to book ratio with respect to five accounting indicators: growth in turnover, growth in earnings before interest and tax, return on assets, net profit margin and growth in fixed assets. Findings Synergy is the primary motive for M&A in the European utility firms. This study also found that post-merger OP is negative and significant across all the five accounting indicators matched by size, and market to book ratio suggesting that utility mergers underperform in the long term. The findings suggest that gains accruing to utilities involved in acquisitions are short term in nature. Practical implications Negative post-merger OP bears important policy implications as in future antitrust/competition authorities should be more vigilant before approving utility mergers. Originality/value Public utilities possess several characteristics that are different from industrial firms and therefore need to be examined separately. Empirical literature on M&A is very limited on utilities. This study has addressed this gap by examining the motivation and post-merger OP of the European utility firms.

Resumen
A transistor-level circuit design of charge pump is introduced to drive the inertial device. The design is made of several big modules, including main charge pump module, band gap reference module, comparator module, oscillating module, control module, temperature protection module. A three-stage charge pump is applied to achieve 5 V to 18 V DC/DC conversion, and each stage uses the cross coupled charge pump circuit, taking body effect, threshold voltage drop and efficiency into account. Considering efficiency and power consumption, the band gap reference module adopts a self-biased op amp. To make the comparator transient response fast, the op amp cascades two inverters. The temperature protection module sets a maximum temperature to protect the charge pump. The control module is composed of a data selector, a two-phase non-overlap clock circuit and a frequency divider to optimize clock signal. Then simulations are given and the charge pump is analyzed, finally the efficiency of charge pump is calculated. Designed in CSMC 0.5um process, the charge pump has an efficiency of 87.63 percent, a 19.85V output voltage, a 100 mA output current, and 6.05mV ripple.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influences of human resource management (HRM) practices on organizational commitment (OC), individual job performance (IJP) and organizational performance (OP) and the effects of OC on IJP and OP at travel agencies in Iran and Turkey. Given research site observation, improving HRM practices fostering OC, IJP and OP was essential to high service quality in hospitality industry. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected through a survey based on interview and e-mail from 440 employees working at travel agencies in both countries. Analysis methodology included demographic statistics, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. Findings Only reward (RE), teamwork (TW), job description (JD), delegation (DL) and career management (CM) influenced affective commitment (AC); JD and CM affected continuance commitment (CC); and recruitment and selection (RS), RE, salary and wage (SW), TW, DL, job security (JS) and CM influenced normative commitment (NC) significantly and positively. Likewise, only RS, TR, SW, TW, DL and CM affected IJP; and TR, JS and CM affected OP significantly and positively. Finally, AC, CC and NC influenced IJP and only AC and CC impacted OP significantly and positively. Research limitations/implications Sample and number of respondents were limited. Generalization of findings was not possible. E-mail respondents raised the problem of who filled the form. Scales did not include personality traits, socio-cultural features and economic conditions which should be explored. However, the research provided recommendations to travel agencies in both countries. Originality/value This study filled the gap in hospitality industry in Iran and Turkey where research works into wide-ranging HRM practices–OC–IJP–OP links were few and far between.

Resumen
Receptor activator of the nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin genes (OPG) were identified as susceptible loci for postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO) in various ethnicities, but neither have been studied in an Arabian population. Hence, the current study aimed to fill this gap. A total of 372 postmenopausal women (174 osteoporosis (OP) and 198 control group (CTRs)) were genotyped for four SNPs: rs2277438A/G and rs9533156T/C (RANKL), and rs2073618C/G and rs3102735T/C (OPG). Anthropometrics, bone mineral density, 25(OH)D and several other bone markers were measured. The frequency distribution of the heterozygous CG genotype of rs2073618 (OPG) was lower in the OP (36.8%) than in CTRs (47%) (OR: 0.6, 95% CI: 0.3–0.97; p = 0.041). No differences in the allelic/genotypic frequencies were detected between the two groups for all other studied SNPs. However, the heterozygous TC genotype of rs3102735 (OPG) was associated significantly with lower BMD at the femoral neck in OP subjects (p = 0.04). The homozygous rare CC genotype of rs9533156 (RANKL) was associated with lower 25(OH)D levels in CTRs (p = 0.032). In contrast, heterozygous AG genotype of rs2277438 (RANKL) is associated with lower 25(OH)D in the OP group (p = 0.02). Our results suggest that RANKL SNPs may impact 25(OH)D levels and that OPG SNP rs2073618A/G is a significant genetic risk factor for PMO Saudi Arabian women.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a novel research model to examine the relationship among information sharing (IS), supply chain integration (SCI), operational performance (OP) and business performance (BP) in the fashion supply chains. Design/methodology/approach A survey of 247 executives from Chinese fashion brand firms was conducted and the data were analyzed to investigate how IS affects the organizational BP. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to study the relationship among IS, SCI, OP and BP. Findings The empirical research results indicate that IS is critical to enhance the SCI and OP, and both SCI and OP exert mediating effects on BP of fashion brands. This result also reveals constructive suggestions that allow fashion brands to strengthen their SCI and OP, as well as BP. Research limitations/implications Multiple data sources were applied to develop the sampling frame, and respondents were selected (according to their experience and position) to ensure they had the knowledge and expertise to provide valid response. However, this could not guarantee the adequacy of the sample. This limitation is compounded by the reliance on a simple respondent per firm, which precludes testing for inter-rater reliability. Practical implications The empirical findings provide an enhanced understanding of the relationship among IS, SCI, OP and BP in Chinese fashion brand settings. The research results will help fashion brands to improve supply chain efficiency and enhance company performance. Originality/value Although previous studies have realized that the value of IS varies in different industries, few have specifically explored the impact on the fashion industry characterized by short life cycles, high volatility, low predictability and high impulse purchasing. To fill this knowledge gap, the present study employed a questionnaire survey and SEM techniques to explore the relationship among IS, SCI, OP and BP in the fashion supply chain. Comprehending the impact mechanism of IS on organizational performance can provide useful management insights into the development of effective strategies that allow enterprise to improve BP.

Resumen
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to draw upon the resource-based view (RBV) of the firm in an attempt to explore how a firm’s resources (i.e. assets and capabilities) such as social capital (SC) and strategic entrepreneurship (SE) relate to sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) and organizational performance (OP).Design/methodology/approachData were collected by questionnaire survey from the supply chain and logistics managers of 242 manufacturing firms in Pakistan. The structural equation modeling approach was used to test the hypotheses.FindingsThe results provide support for the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that SC and SE are positively related to OP. However, the findings show a positive but weak association of SC and SE with SSCM. In a developing country context of Pakistan, organizations are more likely to employ SC and SE for achieving OP. However, relatively less emphasis is placed on linking SC and SE to SSCM. Pakistani organizations need to integrate SSCM into their business strategies. It is concluded that organizations in Pakistan though have some degree of involvement in SSCM but still face some challenges.Originality/valueThe current study attempts to narrow the gap in the available literature in three important aspects. First, it makes the contribution to the literature on SSCM by employing RBV and exploring the relationships of a firm’s resources (i.e. SC) and capabilities (i.e. SE) to SSCM and OP. Second, it employs a relatively more comprehensive measure of SE compared to the limited measures in existing empirical research. Third, the examination of the links of SE and SC to SSCM and OP is of particular importance in the context of a developing country such as Pakistan.

Resumen
The present study was conducted to analyze Organophosphorus poisoning patients with respect to serum cholinesterase level and get an idea of its correlation with various other factors to predict clinical course, severity and outcome of treatment. This was a retrospective study of 6 months duration (July 1st – December 31st 2017) conducted in General Medicine and Record & Statistics Department of tertiary care hospital. The study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee. All the patients of OP poisoning and patients with clinical features suggestive of OP poisoning, irrespective of age/sex were included in the study. Non-OP poisoning patients, patients with renal failure and with multiple poisoning with other drugs such as opioids, diazepam, barbiturate, etc were excluded. Out of 262 poisoning cases in this study, 46 cases were OP poisoning. Sex ratio (M:F) is 3.6:1 and 16-30 yrs age group was most commonly affected, unmarried and belonging to rural area. Suicidal being the most common manner of OP poisoning and by oral route. Family stress in case of suicidal poisoning and alcohol influence for accidental poisoning emerged to be the most common reasons. The mean SCE level is 4491 ± 4128 U/L. Most cases were found to be in the range of 1000-2000U/L (32.6%). Mortality rate in this study was only 13%, due to the close proximity of medical facilities available in our region. Vomiting was found to be the most common clinical feature, followed by giddiness and miosis. Hospital stay duration was seen to be more in patients with low level of SCE (< 2000 U/L). Duration of ventilation needed was more among the patients with low level of SCE (< 2000 U/L). But, SCE level did not show any correlation with treatments outcome, blood pressure, respiratory rate, breathlessness, vomiting and unconsciousness. Treatments outcome worsened with increase in gap between OP consumption and hospital admission.

Category: Lesser Toes, Trauma Introduction/Purpose: The standard treatment of 5th metatarsal shaft fracture is still not determined yet. Conservative treatment using cast immobilization can be applied for shaft fractures without displacement, but there are reports that open reduction is indicated for displacement more than 3 mm, rotational displacement, and angular displacement more than 30 degrees. In this study, we report the result of 5th metatarsal shaft fracture using MIPO technique, which can shorten recovery period by reducing soft tissue damage with minimal incision. Methods: This study consists of 25 patients who had undergone surgery for displaced 5th metatarsal shaft fracture from March 2013 to December 2015; 8 males and 17 females. Mean age at the time of surgery was 47.4(29~69) and mean follow period was 15.0(8~25) months. 11 cases were simple oblique fracture and 14 cases were comminuted fracture with fracture fragments. Mean fracture gap was 4.4(3.1~7.6)mm. MIPO technique with LCP Compact Hand Locking Condylar Plate 2.0(Depuy-Synthes, Zuchwil, Switzerland) was used for all cases. Partial weight bearing was allowed until 4th week post-op, then full weight bearing was allowed until 6th week post-op. Clinical and radiological follow-up was made at post-op week 2, 6, 12, 24. Clinical results were obtained using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS) score. Results: VAS of 24 weeks post-op was decreased from 5.6 ± 0.8 (4~7) preoperatively to 1.2 ± 1.3 (0~4), and AOFAS score of 24 weeks post-op was increased from 42.0 ± 12.8 (24~54) preoperatively to 86.4 ± 7.7 (74~95), both showed significant difference. Anatomic reduction and complete bone union was noted in all cases. Mean union period obtained from follow-up radiograph was 6.0 week post-op. For 15 cases, plate removal was performed at 9.5(7~25) months post-op. Conclusion: Plate fixation can be the preferred option for 5th metatarsal shaft fracture, because 5th metatarsal shaft is surgically easily accessible and more stable fixation can be applied. Since it results complete bone union without any complications and enables early weight bearing, MIPO techinque for displaced 5th metatarsal shaft fracture can be considered as useful surgery technique.

Resumen
A detailed photoluminescence (PL) study reveals a striking similarity in local vibrational properties of a defect center in GaN as compared to that for the substitutional OP donor in GaP. This observation could be interpreted as if the center is in fact related to the substitutional oxygen donor in GaN. The deep-level nature experimentally determined for the defect center calls for caution of a commonly referred model that the substitutional oxygen donor is responsible for the residual n-type conductivity in GaN.

Resumen
Objectives: To describe the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS), to know the characteristics of the patients attended with emphasis on sex differences, and to know the compliance of International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) quality standards. Methods: Observational, prospective research. All the consecutive patients that attended in usual clinical practice from May 2018 to October 2019, were over 50 years, and with a fragility fracture (FF), were included. Results: Our FLS is a type A multidisciplinary unit. We included 410 patients, 80% women. FF recorded in 328 women were: Hip (132, 40%), Clinical Vertebral (81, 25%) and No hip No vertebral (115, 35%). Those in 82 men were: Hip (53, 66%), Clinical Vertebral (20, 24%) and No hip No vertebral (9, 10%), p = 0.0001. Men had more secondary osteoporosis (OP). The most remarkable result was the low percentage of patients with OP receiving treatment and the differences between sex. Forty-nine (16%) women versus nine (7%) men had received it at some point in their lives, p = 0.04. The probability of a man not receiving prior treatment was 2.5 (95%CI 1.01–6.51); p = 0.04, and after the FF was 0.64 (0.38–1.09). Treatment adherence in the first year after the FLS was 96% in both sexes. The completion of IOF quality standards was bad for patient identification and reference time. It was poor for initial OP screening standard and good for the remaining ten indicators. Conclusions: the FLS narrowed the gap in diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of fragility fracture patients, especially men. The FLS meets the IOF quality standards.

Abstract The only way to become an officer in Sweden is to complete the three-year Officers’ Programme (OP). In the selection process for the OP, there is a large gap between the number of applicants and the number of individuals who start the programme. One consequence of this is that the OP has not been fully manned since 2008, thus leaving the Swedish Armed Forces (SAF) with a shortage of officers. Manning the SAF with sufficient officers with the right qualifications is a priority, and henceforth the number of cadets must increase. Therefore, in 2014, a project was launched with the aim of examining recruitment to and selection for the OP, as well as identifying success factors and areas of improvement. An additional ambition was to introduce measures intended to increase recruiting efficiency based on the results, and the proportion of individuals who enter the OP. The project led to the implementation of a different recruitment strategy in 2016 and 2017. Early in the selection process applicants were contacted by cadets already studying on the OP, and were invited to an information meeting at the Swedish Defence University. Those who were selected to start the OP were also contacted by their future platoon commanders, who provided useful information. The outcomes show that the numbers of cadets starting the OP increased, and the dropout rate during the selection process was lower than before. Resumen
This empirical study investigated the impact of entrepreneurial orientation (OE) on organizational performance (OP) of quoted breweries in Nigeria considering the mediating effect of organizational embeddedness in the OE-OP relationship under the theoretical lens of the Resource Based (RBV) theory. The focus was on the five quoted breweries in Nigeria- Guinness Nigeria Plc, Nigeria Breweries Plc, Champions Breweries Plc, Golden Guinea Breweries Plc and International Breweries Plc. The study used survey design. Data were collected from 1,120 employees of the five quoted breweries through a questionnaire and analyzed by Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (Maximum Likelihood). The result showed a significant positive relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (risk-taking, innovativeness and proactiveness) and organizational performance (organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction) and concluded that organizational embeddedness positively mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance. The findings of this study provide organizational performance guidelines for management of the breweries. The research work considers the effect of the mediating role of organizational embeddedness in the entrepreneurial orientation – organizational performance relationship. This is a gap that has not been fully investigated in the literatures reviewed.

Resumen
Abstract. An imbalance of surface energy fluxes using the eddy covariance (EC) method is observed in global measurement networks although all necessary corrections and conversions are applied to the raw data. Mainly during nighttime, advection can occur, resulting in a closing gap that consequently should also affect the CO2 balances. There is the crucial need for representative concentration and wind data to measure advective fluxes. Ground-based remote sensing techniques are an ideal tool as they provide the spatially representative CO2 concentration together with wind components within the same voxel structure. For this purpose, the presented SQuAd (Spatially resolved Quantification of the Advection influence on the balance closure of greenhouse gases) approach applies an integrated method combination of acoustic and optical remote sensing. The innovative combination of acoustic travel-time tomography (A-TOM) and open-path Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (OP-FTIR) will enable an upscaling and enhancement of EC measurements. OP-FTIR instrumentation offers the significant advantage of real-time simultaneous measurements of line-averaged concentrations for CO2 and other greenhouse gases (GHGs). A-TOM is a scalable method to remotely resolve 3-D wind and temperature fields. The paper will give an overview about the proposed SQuAd approach and first results of experimental tests at the FLUXNET site Grillenburg in Germany. Preliminary results of the comprehensive experiments reveal a mean nighttime horizontal advection of CO2 of about 10 µmol m−2 s−1 estimated by the spatially integrating and representative SQuAd method. Additionally, uncertainties in determining CO2 concentrations using passive OP-FTIR and wind speed applying A-TOM are systematically quantified. The maximum uncertainty for CO2 concentration was estimated due to environmental parameters, instrumental characteristics, and retrieval procedure with a total amount of approximately 30 % for a single measurement. Instantaneous wind components can be derived with a maximum uncertainty of 0.3 m s−1 depending on sampling, signal analysis, and environmental influences on sound propagation. Averaging over a period of 30 min, the standard error of the mean values can be decreased by a factor of at least 0.5 for OP-FTIR and 0.1 for A-TOM depending on the required spatial resolution. The presented validation of the joint application of the two independent, nonintrusive methods is in the focus of attention concerning their ability to quantify advective fluxes.

Resumen
Purpose Drawing on knowledge-based theory, contingency theory of leadership, social learning theory and resource-based view, this study aims to investigate the relationships among knowledge-oriented leadership (KOL), knowledge management capacity (KMC), innovation performance (IP) and organizational performance (OP). Design/methodology/approach The relationships were examined using the serial mediation model of Hayes (2013). Data were collected from the firms (N = 502) operating in technology development zones in Turkey. The sample size corresponds to 10% of total number of the firms. Within the scope of a policy called National Technology Move by public authority, Turkey has been making strong investments to produce original and advanced technology products. A significant portion of these investments is directed toward technology development zones. Therefore, research on this topic may be of interest in Turkey. It should also be noted that Turkey is a developing country and is one of the world’s 20 largest economies. Findings The findings show that KMC and IP serially mediate the effect of KOL on OP. In the light of the findings, KOL establishes the eligible conditions for the improvement of KMC. Enhanced KMC transforms into innovation, and as a result, OP increases. As a result, this research shows that Turkish firms under the leadership of knowledge-oriented leaders have high KMC, innovation performance and firm performance. These findings can serve as a valuable benchmark for future studies in developing countries. Research limitations/implications The current research has several limitations. It was carried out on the firms operating in technology development zones in Turkey. Future researches can be conducted on the firms outside the technology development zones. Second, this research was carried out in Turkey. The study was conducted in a specific national context covering only Turkish firms. It is recommended that readers be cautious when generalizing the results to different contexts (e.g. other countries and industries). Future researches can be conducted on the firms located in technology development zones in different countries. This may allow the comparison of countries. Turkey is a developing country. For this reason, developing countries should be taken into consideration in the comparison between countries, not developed countries such as the USA and European countries. Third, this is a cross-sectional study. Therefore, it does not reveal the changes in research variables over time. Longitudinal data collection is recommended for future researches. Practical implications The research findings are turned into a slogan and the firms are recommended the following perspective: more innovation for strong performance; a strong KMC for innovation; and for all, a strong knowledge-oriented leadership. Originality/value KOL is a quite new research field. The current study makes a significant contribution to the literature by revealing the fact that KOL is effective in increasing OP. In addition, testing via the serial mediation model the relationships which put forward how KOL increases OP, this study sheds light on organizational outcomes of KOL. There is an important gap in the search for leadership characteristics that allow knowledge-intensive firms to improve their KMC, innovation and firm performance. Therefore, this research is an important step toward filling this gap.

Resumen
Background Consent policies for post-mortem organ procurement (OP) vary throughout Europe, and yet no studies have empirically evaluated the ethical implications of contrasting consent models. To fill this gap, we introduce a novel indicator of governance quality based on the ideal of informed support, and examine national differences on this measure through a quantitative survey of OP policy informedness and preferences in seven European countries. Methods Between 2017–2019, we conducted a convenience sample survey of students (n = 2006) in Austria (AT), Belgium (BE), Denmark (DK), Germany (DE), Greece (GR), Slovenia (SI) and Spain (ES), asking participants about their donation preferences, as well as their beliefs and views about the policy in place. From these measures, we computed indices of informedness, policy support, and fulfilment of unexpressed preferences, which we compared across countries and consent systems. Results Our study introduces a tool for analyzing policy governance in the context of OP. Wide variation in policy awareness was observed: Most respondents in DK, DE, AT and BE correctly identified the policy in place, while those in SI, GR and ES did not. Respondents in opt-out countries (AT, BE, ES and GR) tended to support the policy in place (with one exception, i.e., SI), whereas those in opt-in countries (DE and DK) overwhelmingly opposed it. These results reveal stark differences in governance quality across countries and consent policies: We found a preponderance of informed opposition in opt-in countries and a general tendency towards support–either informed or uninformed–in opt-out countries. We also found informed divergence in opt-in countries and a tendency for convergence–either informed or uninformed–among opt-out countries. Conclusion Our study offers a novel tool for analyzing governance quality and illustrates, in the context of OP, how the strengths and weaknesses of different policy implementations can be estimated and compared using quantitative survey data.

Resumen
72 Background: Patients with BMets secondary to BC are predisposed to SREs, defined as spinal cord compression (SCC), pathologic fracture (PF), surgery to bone (SB), and radiation therapy to bone (RT). Information on health care utilization and costs to treat SRE episodes in BC patients are limited. The objective of this study was to document current patterns of healthcare utilization and costs of SRE in patients with BC and BMets. Methods: This was a retrospective, observational study using the Thomson MedStat MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters database from 9/2002 to 6/2011. Study subjects included all persons with claims for BC (ICD-9-CM 174.xx) and for BMets (ICD-9-CM 170.xx or 198.5x), and ≥1 claim(s) for SRE. Key inclusion criteria included no other primary cancer and continuous enrollment ≥6 mos prior to BMets diagnosis. Unique SRE episodes were identified based on a gap of ≥90 days without an SRE claim, and classified by treatment setting (inpatient [IP, hospitalized for SRE during episode] or outpatient [OP]) and SRE type (SCC; PF [and no SCC]; SB [and no SCC or PF]; RT [and no SCC, PF, or SB]). Results: Of 22,709 BC patients with BMets, 11,941 had ≥1 SRE. Among 5,809 patients who met all other criteria, there were 7,617 SRE episodes over a mean (SD) follow-up of 17.2 (15.2) mos. The percent of SRE episodes that required IP treatment ranged from 11% (RT) - 76% (SB) (23% overall). On average, IP SCC episodes were most costly; while OP PF episodes were least costly. Of the total SRE costs (mean [SD] $21,072 [$36,462]/episode), 36% were for OP RT and 31% were for IP PF. Conclusions: In patients with BC and BMets, SREs are frequent and associated with high costs and hospitalizations. OP RT and IP PF account for a large share of SRE costs. Treatments that prevent SREs in these patients may reduce these costs. [Table: see text]

Resumen
Background:Previous UK studies suggest that people with arthritis taking part in self-management programmes feel more confident in their ability to manage and control their symptoms. These patients may also visit the doctor less frequently and have shown improved physical and clinical outcomes (1, 2). Based on this evidence, self-management has become an essential component of care for patients with arthritis, or generally with chronic diseases. However, there is still a huge gap regarding such self-management services and support programmes in rheumatology in Switzerland. In the Swiss National Strategy “Musculoskeletal Diseases” 2017–2022, strengthening patients’ empowerment is one of the main strategic pillars. Considering that approximately 500,000 people are suffering in Switzerland from inflammatory arthritis (IA) and osteoporosis (OP) alone, there is huge potential to strengthen patients’ self-management capacity and thus improve their quality of life (3).Therefore, the SLR has developed a self-management programme for IA and OP patients. In this programme medical assistants in outpatient rheumatology clinics are trained to consult patients in self-management. This programme is part of a two-year pilot project (2019–2020) that is supported by a consortium of important stakeholders in rheumatology in Switzerland. Objectives:The ultimate objective is to increase the quality of life and the health status of people with IA and OP in Switzerland by enhancing their capacity for self-management. Furthermore, this pilot project aims at closing an important gap in the Swiss healthcare system by creating an innovative model that can potentially be replicated for other chronic diseases. Methods:To measure the quality of life, the health status as well as the change in behaviour in patients, the study design includes both qualitative and quantitative methods. Patients enrolled in the programme are asked to answer a questionnaire at three points in time; at enrolment, after the last session and two months after completing the programme. It is expected that at least 45 patients will be enrolled. For a qualitative assessment, in-depth interviews will be conducted with rheumatologists and their medical assistants as well as some of the programme participants. The training material for the medical assistants was developed by the SLR and will be evaluated by the programme participants. All patients will also evaluate the quality of the consulting provided by the medical assistant, answering a questionnaire after the last session. Results:Within the first year of implementation, ten outpatient clinics, with twenty-four rheumatologists and twelve medical assistants, were enrolled in the pilot project. Four medical assistants were trained in 2019 and eight are in the process of receiving training in spring 2020. Only after the completion of training will patients be enrolled in the self-management programme. Therefore, outcome-related results cannot be expected until the beginning of 2021.Conclusion:This pilot project provides an innovative approach to closing an important gap in the Swiss healthcare system and to providing a missing component of care for patients with IA and OP. However, it has been challenging to enrol enough clinics in the pilot project. The way the programme is embedded in the current healthcare system, it demands a cultural change within outpatient clinics, allowing medical assistants to step into a new role as consultant.References:[1]Barlow JH, Turner, Wright (2000). ‘A randomised controlled study of the arthritis self-management programme in the UK’.
