Resumen
Detta examensarbetes syfte var att undersöka möjligheter till förbättring av hantering av lagernivåer för Bygg Ole Saltsjö-Boo. En kombination av aspekter från både systemteknik och industriell ekonomi har använts. I rapporten applicerades Guaranteed Service-Level modellen baserad på historisk försäljning i kombination relevanta teorier om lagerkostnad. Rapporten var begränsad till att behandla utvalda produkter med hög omsättning från två utvalda leverantörer till Bygg Ole. Efterfrågan för alla produkter i rapporten utom en är icke säsongsberoende. Särskild hänsyn har dessutom tagits till servicenivå, kapitalkostnader och variation i efterfråga. Resultatet gav att en implementering av modellen skulle ge lägre lagernivåer och därmed lägre lagerkostnader. Slutsatsen från rapporten var att modellen skulle kunna implementeras, eventuellt med höga administrativa kostnader i början. Bygg Ole har också en möjlighet att använda ett ordersystem baserat på den matematiska GSL-modellen (Guaranteed Service-Level) i kombination med prognoser över efterfrågan producerade av försäljningsavdelningen på Bygg Ole. Detta skulle potentiellt kunna öka precisionen i lagerhanteringen. Den nuvarande lagerräntan är relativt lågt bestämd och därför minskas de beräknade besparingarna från implementering av modellen. Om lagerräntan skulle vara högre skulle den ekonomiska fördelen med implementeringen vara tydligare. Rekommendationen till Bygg Ole är att tillämpa den rekommenderade GSL-modellen i kombination med ett system för prognos över efterfrågan på några utvalda produkter och sedan utvärdera resultatet.
The aim of this thesis was to examine possible improvements in the inventory management and procedure of ordering at Bygg Ole Saltsjö-Boo. A combination of aspects from both Systems Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management has been used. In the report, a Guaranteed Service-Level model based on historical data of sales in combination with relevant theories about inventory carrying cost has been applied. The study was limited to specific chosen products with high sales from two selected suppliers of Bygg Ole. All these products in the study except one experienced low seasonal variety in demand. Furthermore special consideration was taken to service level, cost of capital and variability of demand. The result was that an implementation of the model would yield lower inventory levels and therefore lower carrying costs of inventory. The conclusion from the report was that the model could be implemented, although with possibly high administrative costs in the beginning. Bygg Ole also has a possibility of using an ordering system based on the mathematical GSL-model (Guaranteed Service-Level) in combination with forecasts of demand conducted by the sales department of Bygg Ole. This could potentially increase precision in the inventory management. The current inventory carrying charge is compounded relatively low and therefore decreases the calculated savings from implementing the model. If the carrying charge would be higher, the benefits of implementation would be more evident. The recommendation for Bygg Ole is to apply the recommended GSL-model in combination with a demand forecast planning system on a few selected products and then evaluate the result.

Resumen
One of the fundamental requirements on nuclear safety is to prevent the radioactive material from being released. Therefore, it is paramount to maintain the structural integrity of the pressure boundary of the reactor coolant system. The reactor pressure vessel (RPV), under high temperature, high pressure and high radiation in operation, is the most important as well as a Class I nuclear safety equipment. For a pressurized water reactor (PWR), the life of the RPV determines the service life of the entire nuclear power plant. The key factor controlling the life of a RPV is the accumulation of the neutron flux and which induces irradiation embrittlement degrading the anti-fracture capability of the RPV material. Several anti-fracture capability assessments carried out for the Qinshan 320MWe (QS1) RPV, such as (a) the structural integrity assessment against pressurized thermal shocks; (b) the fracture mechanics assessment under irradiation; (c) the P-T limit curves revised; (d) the evaluation of USE. They all demonstrated that the structural integrity of the QS1 RPV would be maintained for the extended service life.

This report is a product of the research collaboration project Fighting pandemics with enhanced risk communication: Messages, compliance and vulnerability during the COVID-19 outbreak (PAN-FIGHT). On Thursday, 30 April 2020, the EdTech Hub participated in an “Ask me anything” session for policy-makers and funders in Nepal. The session focused on designing high-quality, effective, distance education programmes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants included high-level officials from the Nepalese government (e.g., the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Curriculum Development Office and the Education Review Office), representatives from development partners (e.g., the World Bank, UNICEF and USAID) and other education organisations (e.g., OLE Nepal). The session was convened for two purposes. First, to consider international good practice and current trends in distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic, presented by the World Bank EduTech team and the EdTech Hub. Second, for the EdTech Hub team to gather questions from participants, to be able to target guidance specifically to the situation in Nepal. This document provides answers to a consolidated list of 10 questions received from stakeholders during the session. To consolidate any overlap, we have occasionally combined multiple questions into one. In other cases, where multiple important issues required a focused response, we split apart questions.

Tutkimuksen kohteena on Rikosseuraamuslaitoksessa (RISE) kehitteillä olevaa uusi toimintamalli: päihdeongelmaisten sakkorangaistusvankien sijoittaminen vankilan ulkopuolisiin kuntoutuslaitoksiin. Keskiössä on RISEn työntekijöiden kokemukset ja näkemykset toiminnasta ja sen kehittämisestä. Tutkimuksessa kartoitetaan: 1. Näkemyksiä vankien ulkopuolisesta sijoituksesta 2. Uuteen toimintamalliin liittyvää osaamisen kehittämistä 3. Ulkopuoliseen sijoitustoimintaan liittyviä haasteita ja hyviä käytäntöjä 4. RISEn keskeiset toimijat ulkopuolisessa sijoitustoiminnassa sekä niiden välisiä haasteita ja hyviä käytäntöjä 5. Rikosseuraamusalan tulevaisuus Tutkimuksen käsitys toiminnasta ja oppimisesta perustuu kulttuurihistorialliseen toiminnan teoriaan ja sen pohjalta kehitettyyn kehittävän työntutkimuksen metodologiaan. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin teemahaastatteluin RISEn eri yksiköissä. Haastattelut (N=26) toteutettiin kahdessa osassa: kesäkuussa 2021 (N=10) sekä tammikuun ja maaliskuun 2022 välillä (N=16). Sakkovankien ulkopuoliseen päihdekuntoutukseen liittyvää kehitystyötä pidettiin tärkeänä, mutta sen tarkoituksenmukaisuutta, taloudellisuutta ja vaikuttavuutta kyseenalaistettiin. Toisella haastattelukierroksella monet haastateltavista ilmaisivat tyytyväisyytensä kehittämistyön etenemiseen. Erityisesti huomioitiin henkilökunnan sitoutuminen hankkeeseen, eri yksiköiden välinen yhteistyö, uudet keskustelunavaukset sekä asiakasprosessin vahvistuminen yhteisenä työnkohteena. Keskeiset hyvät käytännöt ja haasteet liittyivät vankeihin tai heidän ilmaisemiinsa näkemyksiin toiminnasta, sääntöihin ja normeihin (esim. lainsäädäntö, hankkeen tavoitteiden muuttuminen, työkulttuuri), työnjakoon (esim. rajoja ylittävä työskentely, hankkeen työnjaollinen organisointi) ja välineisiin (esim. kommunikointi ja viestintä). Aineistosta nousseet osaamisen kehittämisen teemat olivat (1) osaamisen kehittämisen tarpeet (2) informaali oppiminen, (3) yhteistyö ja yhteisöllinen oppiminen sekä (4) jatkuva oppiminen, ketteryys, kokeilukulttuuri ja ratkaisukeskeisyys. RISEn keskeisiksi verkoston jäseniksi ulkopuolisessa sijoitustoiminnassa nostettiin: vankiterveydenhuolto, kunnat, päihdekuntoutuslaitokset, kolmannen sektorin toimijat ja ulosottolaitos. Toisella haastattelukierroksella kuvattiin vahvistunutta ja onnistunutta yhteistyötä eri verkoston jäsenten kanssa. Haasteina tuotiin esiin muun muassa se että sosiaali- ja terveysministeriö ei ole ollut alusta asti mukana toiminnan suunnittelemisessa, verkoston jäsenten vaikea tavoitettavuus, kuntoutuslaitosten tarjoamat hoitomuodot, jotka eivät tarkoituksenmukaisia sakkovangeille tai niitä on rajoitetusti tarjolla. RISEn johdon toivottiin osallistuvan verkostojen rakentamiseen. Tuloksista analysoitiin jännitteet, jotka ilmaisevat keskeiset kriittiset pisteet toiminnassa. Osaamisen kehittämiseen ja informaalin oppimiseen liittyvät analysoidut jännitteet olivat seuraavanlaiset: - itsenäinen ote työhön ja oppimiseen – organisaation rooli oppimisen tukemisessa - ei-perinteinen ketterä oppiminen – hierarkkiset ja siiloutuneet organisaatiorakenteet Verkostoitumiseen ja yhteistyöhön liittyvät jännitteet olivat: - yksilön vastuu ja kontaktit – systeeminen verkostoituminen jossa johto mukana - alueellinen kehittäminen – valtakunnallinen kehittäminen Yleisesti toiminnan kehittämiseen liittyvä jännite oli: - ylisektoraalinen kehittämisen tarve – yksipuolinen kehittäminen (oikeusministeriön vastuu) Haastateltavien pohdinnat rikosseuraamusalan tulevaisuudesta olivat pääasiassa myönteisiä. Heidän esiin tuomansa tulevaisuuteen liittyvät pääteemat olivat: sakkovankihankkeen tulevaisuus, vastuuvirkamiesmalli ja lähityö, verkostotyö ja kansainvälisyys, osaamisen kehittämisen tarpeet, digitalisaatio, vankiryhmät ja heidän tarpeensa sekä rangaistusten ja yhteiskunnan avoimuus. Tutkimus- ja kehittämisehdotuksiksi nousivat: (1) Sakkovankitematiikkaan liittyvä pitkittäistutkimus, joka kohdistuu sekä RISEn henkilöstön että verkoston jäsenten kokemuksiin ja kehittämisehdotuksiin ja (2) Naiserityisen työn/palvelujen kehittäminen ja tutkiminen.
