Texto completoThis doctoral thesis analyzes the implementation of social networks in the radio field with the aim of knowing its impact from a double perspective: that of the audience and that of the professional. The investigation covers a theoretical and empirical study about the development, application and involvement of social networks with Spanish radio with the aim of identifying new competences and interaction strategies of both communicative elements. This work deals with this goal from both perspectives quantitative and qualitative. The content analysis of the 7.144 messages published through their Facebook and Twitter official accounts and through the 313 hours of content broadcasted in the radio programs analyzed, is strengthen by the testimony offered by 82 radio professionals through in-depth interviews.

Texto completoThe doctoral thesis starts from the need to (re) conceptualize the analytical framework in which to approach the study of new rural dynamics. To this end, the contributions of the New Economic Sociology, useful for a complementary approach to the study of territorial processes, are explored. The state of the art is defined by the combination of two approaches, on the one hand, rural studies, with attention to the contributions of territorial development. On the other, the social capital approach, with attention to its contribution to the study of such local and territorial development processes. The core hypothesis of research is based on the expected effects on the stock of social capital coming from the combination of, on the one hand, the processes of socioeconomic development in which many of the disadvantaged areas of our country have been immersed and, on the other hand, from the growing coordination between actors, for example within or in relation to the LEADER local action groups. As a result, the hypothesis behind the research is that, in rural areas, a strengthening of bonding social capital in different areas is taking place, as well as linkages and social integration within each of the areas, between the different groups and social-relational structures (bridging social capital and, where appropriate, linking social capital). The thesis focuses on the study of the relational dimension of social capital, for which the methodological approach of Social Network Analysis is applied (mainly from socio-centric perspective). The universes of analysis are, on the one hand, a sample of eight case studies, rural disadvantaged areas that, correspond, for purposes of selection and hypothesis contrast, with LEADER areas (Bajo Martín and Andorra - Sierra de Arcos, Bajo Aragon and Matarraña, Catalunya Central, El Condado de Jaén, Nooreste de Murcia, Sierra de Alcaraz y Campo de Montiel, Mariñas - Betanzos, and Sierras de Béjar y Francia). On the other, we work with broad samples of social actors that respond to a double criterion: to have a certain broadly recognized social, economic, political-institutional or managerial relevance, linked to the socioeconomic development processes of the territory, and that such a relevance is recognized on a supra-municipal scale, that is, those actors who are more “important” in relation to territorial development processes. The selection of actors is carried out through previous interviews with privileged informants, and is subsequently contrasted with interviews with all actors (at the moment to analyse their own personal networks). Globally, the samples are made up of 45 to 60 actors in each area, around 90% of the actors that meet the selection criteria. Based on the information gathered in the 427 personal interviews considered valid, a comparative analysis of the structural properties of social networks is carried out, with particular attention to cohesion and centrality measures, in order to assess the stock of social capital in each of the social network. It also includes a longitudinal analysis, assessing the stability elements of these social networks in a perspective of almost two decades. Second, we analyze the relational bases of cooperation between actors, dyadic reciprocity and triadic transitivity. Thirdly, the relational patterns are analyzed according to the relation opening versus homophilic patterns, according to diverse attributes, such as the socio-professional scope to which the actors belong. Fourth, more than 50 socio-relational substructures or cohesive groups and their articulating elements are analyzed in detail. The thesis ends with an analysis of personal networks in order to define the role of socio-territorial elites as intermediation elements in relational flows. The conclusion is that the research hypothesis does not seem to be satisfactorily fulfilled.

Texto completoIn the last decades many studies have shown profound changes in medical practices. This points out that we are attending to an epistemological shift turning medicine into biomedicine. In this context, our research analyzes the concomitant practices of diagnostic psychiatric judgement (DPJ) elaboration, focusing on the materiality and the significances of diagnosis-making. We address our study object from Actor-Network Theory (ANT), a theoretical perspective derived from the field of Social Studies of Science and Technology. Drawing on the boundary object notion established by Star & Griesemer (1989), we explain how psychotropic drugs act in DPJ production. The notion of boundary objects discusses the translation concept developed by ANT, however both are metaphors which describe the vicissitudes of relationality. We apply both notions in order to describe the role of psychotropic drugs in psychiatric practices and in DPJ. In the first paper, we present a review of the diagnosis concept grounded in Foucault´s studies about psychiatry and of some of the most important works from the antipsychiatry movement. In a second paper, the trajectory notion is used to describe two ways as to how psychotropic drugs propose the configuration of DPJ. In the one trajectory, we depict the psychopharmacological translation work produced in the patient´s body. In the other, tracing a reverse path, we explain how the clinical expertise is transferred to scientific spaces or bioclinical collectives in DPJ enactment. In a third paper, the tools applied in prior analysis - mediation, in particular translation and delegation - are embodied in the boundary objects category, to get a greater analytical scope for the case study. We put forward that psychotropic drugs as boundary objects support the process of diagnosis-making on a minimun knowledge base, allowing the continuous negotiation of significances. Its interpretive flexibility articulates the distributed and heterogeneous perspective of work and collective action. That means, the interpretive flexibility of psychotropic drugs supports or rather administers to the ambiguity and uncertainty of psychiatric practices in the process of diagnosis-making in its own materiality. In addition, the invisible infrastructure or informational infrastructure is the property that explains the processes of delegation and refers to the transport of categories, classifications and norms that occurs in the interaction. Hence, the psychotropic drugs are concrete in the uses and abstract in the knowledge infrastructure. In biopsychiatry, psychotropic drugs as boundary objects act as central mediators in knowledge management, establishing the semiotic-material assemblage of diagnosis. Thus, our thesis highlights the materiality of the clinical expertise artifact, enacted through psychopharmacological translation, in order to produce a DPJ. Finally in a fourth paper, we present the proposal of Postpsychiatry and its hermeneutic retrieval, to introduce a different standpoint contrary to the biomedical psychiatric mainstream perspective and to make the voices of resistance possible.

The steady growth of Internet along with the IP networks and their integration into society and corporations has brought with it increased expectations of new converged services as well as greater demands on quality in communications. The Next Generation Networks (NGNs) respond to these new needs and represent the new Internet paradigm from the IP convergence. One of the least developed aspects in the NGNs is the Quality of Service (QoS) control, which is especially critical in the multimedia communication through heterogeneous networks and/or different operators. Furthermore, the NGNs natively incorporate the IPv6 protocol which, despite its shortcomings and the depletion of IPv4 addresses has not been boosted yet.
This thesis has been developed with a practical focus. Therefore, with the aim of carrying out research over testbeds supporting the IPv6 with performance guarantees, an in-depth study of the IPv6 protocol development has been conducted and its degree of implementation and the existing conformance and interoperability tests that evaluate these implementations have been studied. Next, the quality of five implementations has been evaluated through a conformance test and the basic IPv6 testbed has been implemented, from which the research will be carried out.
The QoS Broker is the main contribution to this thesis: an integrated framework including an automated system for QoS control management through multi-domain/multi-operator systems according to NGN recommendations. The system automates the mechanisms associated to the QoS configuration inside the same domain (autonomous system) through policy-based management and automates the QoS dynamic negotiation between peer QoS Brokers belonging to different domains, so it allows the guarantee of seamless end-to-end QoS. This architecture is validated over a multi-domain testbed which uses the QoS DiffServ mechanism and supports IPv6.
The architecture defined in the NGN allows QoS management at level 3 (IP) as well as at level 2 (e.g. Ethernet, WiFi) so it also facilitates the management of PLC networks. Through the use of a QoS Broker, this thesis proposes a theoretical approach for applying this control architecture to the newly standardized PLC networks, and discusses the possibilities of applying it over the future communication networks of the Smart Grids.
Finally, a module for managing traffic engineering which optimizes the network domains through artificial intelligence techniques is integrated in the QoS Broker. The validations by simulations and over a Cisco router testbed demonstrate that hybrid genetic algorithms are an effective option in this area.
Overall, the advances and key insights provided in this thesis help advance our understanding of QoS functioning in the NGNs and prepare these systems to face increasingly complex problems, which abound in current industrial and scientific applications.

Texto completoThe present research is developed to know the strategies used through word of mouth communication in social networks to generate purchasing preferences in the consumer. Because studies targeting healthy food and millennials from an advertising perspective are scarce, we believe that it is a potential topic for better understanding of the market that would be favorable for brands and agencies. In addition, the study will be carried out with qualitative techniques, which will allow us to observe from the opinions and publicity shared by consumers and influencers as well as the communication that brands make through social networks and how they are seen. Through this we can have a better basis throughout the investigation Our study sees the millennial audience of NSEC A and B as a potential consumer. If we understand the millennial audience as the group of people who use social networks to connect with a huge network of contacts. Millennials will not be defined by their age, but by their psychographic characteristics.

The thesis seeks to analyse, on the one hand, the integration and development of the new technologies in the Administration of Justice; and, on the other, the parameters which constitute the validity and efficiency of the electronic document.
The first question centres on the configuration of the Information Systems of the Judicial Office and the Public Prosecutor, as well as the computerisation of the Civil Registers, where the art. 230 LOPJ it's the part key. Their programmes, applications, the Video Conferencing, the judicial registers and the telecommunication networks which are covered by the recognised electronic signatures, are studied, where the agreements on technological collaboration gain great relevance. The digitalisation of evidence might perhaps be one of the questions with most consequence, bearing in mind that the judgment is the act by which the process is culminated. Although not all the projects adopted within the compass of e.justice have developed completely nor have reached all the judicial organs. The final objective is to achieve an agile, quality Justice, to which the recently approved Strategic Plan for the Modernisation of Justice aspires.
With reference to the second perspective, there is no doubt that the juridical Ordinance and the tribunals within the compass of material justice grant full validity and efficacy to the electronic document. Our line of investigation is justified because there are more and more processes which are sustained by electronic supports of all kinds, whether it be at the establishment of the action or later, as a proof of it (art. 299.2 LEC). Amongst other things, we examine the computerised document, the problems which surround the fax, the systems for video recording and the electronic contract.
