Resumen
The article launches a new approach to studying coincident proper names in different cultural conditions - names viewed in a synchronistic perspective, in the Jungian sense. The paper purports to answer a number of questions adding to the theory of language, depth psychology and cognitive science. The main research methods, such as cognitive analysis and reconstruction, allow recovering data on deep cognitive attitudes of a person and possible connections of his/her mental sphere with physical reality. In this regard, the functional and cognitive nature of proper names is analyzed. It is determined by a number of characteristics that form the basis for further research. The paper further elaborates on the conditions and models of synchronistic coincidences of proper nouns (mostly personal names). The identified conditions and models are as follows: a) thematic seriality of personal names; b) their cross-matching; c) their systemic parallel matching; d) their complete coincidence in space and time; e) their promising coincidences in fortune telling; f) coincidence of ideal and real personal names; g) coincidences of personal names “framing” certain historical epochs; h) coincidences of proper names, removing the referential certainty of the named subjects. The data presented in the article made it possible to make some generalizations and to outline research prospects in this area. First of all, researching proper names from the point of view of synchronistic coincidences allows us to have an insight into human cognition and shed light on its deep structure. In addition, such studies have interdisciplinary significance bringing cognitive linguistics and the fundamental sciences closer together. Finally, the analysis of synchronistic coincidences of proper names allows us to reconstruct some deep cognitive attitudes in the human psyche, demonstrating the unity of mental and physical realities. Even more promising in this regard is the unification of cognitive linguistics with other advanced scientific disciplines engaged in this issue.

Resumen
Gottlob Frege, in order to explain the relationship between language and reality, believes that in addition to the subjective meaning and external reference of words, related to the words and signs in their entirety, there is also a third thing that expresses how the words designate or stand for external references. Frege calls this third phenomenon the sense of words. Sense is the mode of presentation of reference which is designated by a proper name. Sense contrary to meaning, which is subjective and personal, is an objective and external matter that everyone can enjoy or access to it. Frege’s theory will be examined in this article with the aim of showing how the theory is incomplete. Besides the fact that there is an inconsistency in his view concerning the nature of meaning (Frege considers sense sometimes objective and on other occasions something imaginary.), his argument to prove the objectivity of sense is unsuccessful. Even if we accept his assumption of the objectivity of sense, Frege cannot drive the problem of psychologism out of the path of human knowledge. That is, Frege fails to achieve its original objective; proving that psychologism is wrong.

Resumen
As one of the urgent problems of modern Kazakh linguistics, it is possible to form a theoretical and methodological basis for the field of poetic onomastics by studying the title of a work of art, names denoting the character on the part of the writer. Consideration of onyms in the language of the work, including poetonyms in cognitive orientation in ethno–cultural and ethno-linguistic integrity - onomastic units that mentally characterize the surrounding reality, serves as a basis for maximum refinement of the experience of cognition accumulated on the scale of "language-consciousness-nation".The language of fiction occupies a special place in the language of a certain nation. That is, the literary language plays a huge role in the development and formation of the national language. The fact that linguistic means are factual material for the formation of a literary language considers their independent need for individual author's use as an aesthetic category. The scientific article tells that onomastic units in a work of art are not only the result of artistic thinking of a native speaker, but also ethno-cultural and linguistic symbols covering all spheres of life of the nation. In addition, the features of the titles are illustrated by the plot of the work, the meaningful idea, the world of artistic images, the language of the hero and the truce of the hero. Thus pointing out that under the name of each hero lie age-old worldviews, national identity, national character, national traditions, linguistic phenomena arising from national beliefs, the authors note that they are linguocultural in nature, as well as differentiation of the specifics of the use of names in a work of fiction and clarification of nominal properties are part of the definition of language expression and culture.

Resumen
Proper name is a linguistic symbol that reflects people’s perspectives and thoughts over something. This study aims to reveal current naming convention in Banyumas from linguistic perspective and to describe naming classification which covers list of proper names, their sociocultural background, the meanings, and the functions. This study used descriptive-qualitative method with snowball technique for the sampling. Banyumas proper names are dominated by the use of monomorphemic form. The languages used to give proper names come from local language, Bahasa Indonesia, as well as foreign languages. The naming structure covers first name, functioning as gender and birth order markers; middle name, containing ethnical or foreign element; and last name, containing family name. Naming reference mostly uses adjectives, famous figures’ names, nature elements, flower names, puppet characters’ names, and/or numbers and symbols. Prefix su- also characterizes some proper names in Banyumas. Cultural reflection from Banyumas proper names is that the proper names chosen by the name givers, mostly parents, resemble their hope and prayer for their children. Proper name as a part of culture and folklore becomes ethnical identity for the people themselves.

Resumen
It is explicitly or implicitly stated in many scholarly works on proper names that the linguistic status of these lexical items is “odd” (étrange). Their odd nature is due to several factors, such as their functional propensity to correlate with a single referent, lack of conceptual meaning, morphological invariability, inability to be clearly differentiated from common names due to a lack of unambiguous and generally accepted criteria, etc. Therefore, the class of proper names looks, both quantitatively and qualitatively, like a very vague conceptual structure. Under the umbrella term of “proper name,” researchers include lexical units that are different in their lexical-semantic and communicative-pragmatic nature, which, in many cases, contradicts the theoretical propositions offered to explain their linguistic and speech features. Thus, quoting Gustave Guillaume, the proposed principles of theories of proper names “do not always face the facts in an antagonistic position.” This is the essence of inconsistencies in the interpretation of the linguistic status of proper names. The present study analyzes the conceptual foundations of several basic, in our opinion, paradoxes that are inherent in the linguistic studies of proper names.

Resumen
Purpose. The task of the study is to define the boundary between common and proper names, and to systematize the main differential characteristics of the onyms.Methods. The research is based on different scientific methods. A scientific literature review was used to demonstrate how statements about boundary between appellatives and propriatives are changing and developing over time. Observation, analysis as well as the descriptive and comparative methods were used for identifying distinctions between proper and common names. Comparative method was used for identifying common and distinct peculiarities of proper and common names. Generalization and abstraction techniques were used to establish broad patterns of distinction between common and proper names, as well as systematization of specific features of proper names. Significant differences and some similarities between pronouns and proper names were described.Results. The article focuses on the debate in the scientific community about whether there is a clear distinction between common and proper names. Various positions of scientists on this issue have been identified and analysed. As a result, a number of arguments have been identified that are clearly or fairly contentious. The scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign researchers on the specific of proper names have been studied and a list of them has been organized (27 characteristics). Differences in proper and common names are sought in functions, nature and linguistic characteristics, context, etymology and translation. It also highlights features that are recognized by some scholars because of their support or the negation of the theory of the non-existence of semantics in proper names.Conclusions. The debate on the boundary between common and separate names, which dates back to ancient times, has not yet been definitively resolved. From the analysis of the different approaches, it appears more convincing that the proper and common names differ considerably in their characteristics, in their purpose, but they interact closely and complement each other. This is what onymization and apelativization processes demonstrate. It has been suggested that the list of specific characteristics of proper names can be augmented as a result of new research on the proper names.Key words: common names, proper names, boundaries between two classes of lexicon, specific characteristics of proper names, pronouns.

Resumen
Abstract This study explores the retrieval of proper names and the sensitivity of this lexical category to the modulatory effect of cognitive reserve in an aging population. Thirty-two elderly patients, undergoing their first neuropsychological evaluation were matched for age and education to thirty-two healthy controls. All participants were administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) to measure their global cognitive performance, the Famous Face Naming test to assess proper name retrieval, and the Cognitive Reserve Index (CRI) questionnaire to obtain an index of cognitive reserve. The two groups had comparable CRI total scores, but patients’ performance was worse in both MoCA and Famous Face naming test, compared to healthy controls. Results showed that cognitive reserve predicted global cognitive performance (i.e., MoCA score) in the patients, but not in the healthy participants. Naming proper names was independent from cognitive reserve. This might be due to their lexical nature, which lies in a poor semantic connection between proper names and their bearers.

Resumen
The paper deals with set phrases (phraseologisms, set comparisons, and proverbs) with the proper name component of the precedent and unprecedent nature in texts of modern Ukrainian media. The paper is focused both on the semantic and structural semantic transformations of set phrases with the proper name component and on creating the transformed phrases on the basis of the model. The paper traces the rate of transformations of phraseological units and proverbs with the proper name component of the precedent and unprecedent nature in the modern Ukrainian media discourse, investigates the types of transformations (semantic and structural-semantic), outlines the trends of transforming set phrases based both on Ukrainian and borrowed proper names, and describes the creation of transformed units on the basis of the model. The study is based on the material of biblical names, ancient names, mythological anthroponyms, names of historical persons and figures in modern politics as well as connotative onyms that are a component of the Ukrainian linguoculture, which were all investigated based on Ukrainian printed and electronic publications, Internet forums and blogs of the beginning of the 21st century.

Resumen
The article explores the use of proper names as a source of wordplay in the classroom bilingual interaction in English as a second language. It is noted that wordplay becomes a means of accommodation to the onomastic system of a foreign language when proper names trigger bilingual metalinguistic reflection. The author emphasizes that wordplay is a process of deliberate deviation from language norms in which the proper name is a standard language unit (‘normema’) that undergoes linguistic reinterpretation and turns into a non-standard language unit (‘igrema’) developing both formal and semantic changes. It is exactly the non-standard nature of onomastic units under study and the specificity of the material that explain the novelty of the present research. This paper aims to identify the reasons why proper names become a source of non-standard language units in the classroom bilingual speech. Two groups of such reasons are distinguished, namely, the features of the formal morphological structure of proper names and features of their lexical meaning. It appears that wordplay occurs in proper names that include a ‘transferable’ component, creating an associative metatextual reference in the bilingual mind. Proceeding from the fact that such components can be found on the phonemic, morphemic, or lexical level, the author describes three corresponding models of wordplay. It is noted that wordplay mostly involves proper names with a distinct social component that is also relevant in the community of native English speakers. These include personal and place names, names of organizations and products. For each type of proper names, the author suggests two types of the development of the semantic connection between a standard language unit and a non-standard language unit: the one that does not involve the internal form of a proper name and another one that is based on it.

Resumen
The article describes the ethnic and individual impact factors on the formation of conceptually linguistic picture of the world which works as a connecting primary phenomenon of every separate nationality, a marker of a national language, traditions, culture and literature. The subject of the research includes English idioms with an onomastic component, which ethnic identity is genetically determined by different strands: geographic and climate environment (natural landscape, pidsonnia (climate), natural disasters, flora, fauna), historical and social factors (economic activity (farming), occupation, relationship with the neighbours, social and political forms), mentally unique features of a national character. Phraseological units have become the ground for developing a phraseological picture of the world of the English ethnicity as an owner of an original outlook. The structure and semantics of these idioms comprise both the names connected with the England lands, and those that go far beyond its boundaries; it depends on the spreading area of a separate variant of the English language and its world significance. The key phraseological units of the English language contain toponyms (place names, proper names of geographical objects), anthroponyms (proper names of people). Thus, this study presents the other idiom groups as well. Toponyms of mythological, biblical and historical origin are the most spread among them. Sometimes English phraseological units comprise ethnonyms-componets to indicate the names of the nationalities, which representatives have contancted with an English cultural community one way or another. A specific typeof idioms is presented by the phraseological units of literary origin of the works of outstanding creative individuals. Shakespearisms make the largest group. Most of the studied idioms reflect ethnic and psychological peculiarities of a community, its national and cultural specififcs, demonstrate the sample of high artistic aesthetics.

Resumen
The article treats the concept of proper name in Juri Lotman’s semiotics, taking into account also studies in the same field by other authors of the Tartu-Moscow school (V. Ivanov, B. Ogibenin, V. Toporov, B. Uspenski). Focus is laid at three sub-topics: name and myth, name and text, name and artistic creation. One of the sources of treating proper name for both the program article by J. Lotman and B. Uspenski (“Myth — Name — Culture”), and works by several other semioticians of the Tartu–Moscow school is confidence in the connection between proper name and mythical (a-semiotic) thought: semiosis equals here with nomination. Proper name plurality, different re-namings affirm the continuing importance of mythical thinking in later culture. Proper names (such as personal names, place names) belong, in addition to natural language, also into a certain individual system, forming thus an interlinguistic layer located on the boundary of language. J. Lotman stresses that art has a specific power of uniting general and proper name (proper name characterized here by individuality, explosiveness). An artistic work is even doubly of proper name character: both the act of creation and its reception are by nature individual and unrepeated. In the opinion of the authors the treatment of proper name by the Tartu-Moscow school contains fruitful and promising standpoints for the analysis of contemporary culture that, however, have been applied unjustifiably little.

Resumen
The article considers denotative nominative classification of English ideonyms. One thousand English ideonyms selected according to the frequency of use in print and electronic media have provided the material for this research. The topical problems of ideonymics incude establishment of denotative nominative systematization of the relevant proprietary units, which involves their grouping according to the type of the named objects. The denotative nominative classification of ideonyms embraces four divisions: artionyms, i.e. proper names of works of art, which are further divided into imagionyms, sсeneonyms, musiconyms and filmonyms; biblionyms that cover proper names of all written and verbal texts as well as their series and collections; gemeronyms, i.e. proper names of the media, which are divided into pressonyms and electronyms according to the method of transmitting the information and include both radio and television programs of exclusively informational nature rather than those of entertaining or educational character; computeronyms, which absorb all proper names designed to designate different types of computer programs. The poetonymic sphere is understood as a collection of onyms in artistic texts creating a complex and harmonious system existing in any artistic work as a result of their interrelations. This concerns not only literary works but also those in cinematography, computer art, etc., since proper names act in each of them as components of the virtual picture of the world, thus enabling to refer to the existence of not only the poetonymic sphere, but also the virtualonymosphere. Therefore, it can be concluded that ideonyms can be divided into four classes by their correlation with denotate, namely artionyms, biblionyms, gemeronyms and computeronyms, subject to further specification. Separate terms have been created for ideonyms of the first and second specification levels whereas descriptive terminology is applied for further subdivisions. Each of the analyzed divisions has its own specific functioning, both structural and semantic, which makes further intvestigation in this direction relevant.

Resumen
The paper examines the information status of Old English structures consisting of proper names and titles. The nominal constructions under discussion fall into three categories: the Ælfred cyning type of structure, where the title appears without any determiner and follows the proper name, the Ælfred se cyning type, where the title appears with a determiner and follows the proper name, and the se cyning Ælfred type, where the title with a determiner precedes the proper name. It is demonstrated that the se cyning Ælfred construction is mainly used anaphorically: an overwhelming majority of the examples of the structure in the Old English texts examined here refer back to an entity mentioned in the preceding discourse. Moreover, most of the antecedents of the se cyning Ælfred structures appear to be local, that is they occur in the same or in the immediately preceding structural unit. It is argued that the anaphoric nature of the se cyning Ælfred constructions may be responsible for their distribution in Old English texts.

Resumen
The article is devoted to the structural-semantic study of proper personal names with the basе а zhyd-, noted in various Slavic names. The author described anthroponyms with the basе а zhyd-, which are associated with the ethnonym zhyd ʽjewʼ, common in all Slavic languages. Part of proper personal names with this stem has a different meaning. It is connected with the verb root zhyd- ‹ zydaty ‘to waitʼ or the infinitive adjective zhyd ‹ psl. *židъ(jь) ‘liquidʼ. The criteria for distinguishing anthroponyms with the basе а zhyd-, which are derived from an ethnonym, and homonymous proper personal names with a different motivation of the creative basis were defined. The article differentiates such homonymous anthroponyms on the basis of a systematic linguistic analysis of all components of Slavic proper names with this basis. Different semantic types of Slavic anthroponyms with the basе а zhyd- are distinguished: 1) motivated by the ethnonym zhyd; 2) connected with the verb zydaty ‹ zdaty or with the adjective zyd(yj) ‹ psl. *židъjь ‛liquidʼ; 3) motivated by semes of a domestic and zoomorphic nature (proper nicknames). From these facts, one may conclude that it is inappropriate to unambiguously interpret Slavic anthroponyms with the base а zhyd- as derivatives of ethnonyms. It should be stressed that at least part of such names undoubtedly arose on local Slavic soil and have a different motivation. Linguistic analysis of Slavic anthroponyms with the basе а zhyd- at the diachronic level confirmed: 1) in the Slavic language space, such proper personal names, according to written sources, were noted already in the 12th century; 2) the structural-semantic and etymological characteristics of the corresponding anthroponyms gave the possibility to qualify them within semantic groups: a) names with with the basе zhyd- ‹ zydaty ‘to waitʼ; b) names with the ethnonymic motivation of the base zhyd ‘jewʼ; c) names, the base of which goes back to the indeterminate adjective zhyd ‹ psl. *židъ(jь) ‘liquidʼ; 3) some local surnames developed on the basis of nicknames may have a different pre-onym semantics; 4) anthroponyms with the basе а zhyd-, regardless of the motivation of their internal form, are widespread in various Slavic languages already in the early historical period and constitute a significant share of local proper names.

Resumen
Defining the functional nature of English anthroponyms in literary texts for children is complicated philological problems as these language elements perform an essential role in creating the system of images of any literary work. The complex study of anthroponyms functioning in literary texts for children is rather important because it meets the requirements of a new scientific paradigm of literary onomastics. The purpose of the research is to describe a scientific assumption of the phenomenon of literary anthroponymy in general, and that of proper names and literary anthroponyms in particular, and describe their functional peculiarities in literary texts for children. Special attention is paid to anthroponyms and their stylistic expressive abilities, which originate from the time when ancient philosophers regarded proper names in terms of their semantics and purpose of use only. The rapid development of literary onomastics makes it possible to point out different kinds of onyms, anthroponyms, toponyms, and the names of characters in fiction. The key feature of literary anthponyms is their distinguishing stylistic possibilities. It is proved that the functional nature of anthroponyms lies in the fact that they operate in literary texts as vivid markers of the author’s intention, implementing definite ideological, esthetic, and cultural tasks. In a word, they update stylistic features (informative and emotive) at the textual level. Consequently, the wide use of stylistic expressive properties of anthroponyms in literary works led to the need to conceptualize their functional nature in literary texts for children.

Resumen
This article investigates the idea that meanings of proper names are their references which is popular in the philosophy of language. The aim is to show, first, that there is no satisfactory answer to the question “How references as stable relations between words and objects appear, due to accomplishment of what conditions these properties of linguistic expressions may be produced?”, and, second, that we can still use the notion of reference in our explanations of some effects of communication if we treat reference as pragmatic rather than semantic phenomenon. The actuality of this research is provided by the fact that the identification of meanings of certain types of terms, proper names first of all, with their references is still very influential account in the philosophy of language. The author uses the methods of historical exposition and philosophical analysis of the main theories of reference, such as theory of descriptions and causal theory of reference. It is shown that these theories in their different modifications fail to explain how references as semantic relations between proper names and their bearers may be produced in the course of communication and social interaction. But although there are alternative concepts of the nature meanings of proper names it is concluded that we still may apply the notion of reference in our explanations of natural language communication if we treat reference as pragmatic effect caused by mutual coordination of actions achieved by the participants of certain communicative situation.

Resumen
The paper deals with a broad variety of names featured in the three-volume Lamentations of the Northern Land published by Elpidifor Barsov in 1872–1885. The toponymy of lamentations has been repeatedly addressed by researchers as the most prevalent and diverse class of proper names due to its symbolic weight and a pronounced local colour. This study aims to bridge the gaps in the systemic description of other categories of names presented in this collection (ethnonyms, chrononyms, theonyms and hagionyms, anthroponyms, and onomastic derivatives). These may lack the diversity of toponyms but are intrinsically related to the genre of lamentation in terms of their composition and usage. Therefore, a comprehensive description of these classes is required, primarily from the standpoint of linguistic pragmatics. Christian onyms (theonyms, hagionyms, chrononyms, ecclesionyms, names of icons (iconyms)) are most frequent in lamentations, which reflects the later influence of Orthodox worldview on this archaic genre and the proliferation of Christian naming patterns. Alternatively, the same could be explained by intergeneric influence, meaning that Orthodox vocabulary and semantic oppositions in lamentations could be assimilated from spiritual verses. The fact that lamentations were only performed by women also speaks on favour of the genre-driven nature of their onymic composition, abound in proper names reflecting the “female” perspective. These include regional toponyms forming a local image of space, mentions of “female” calendar holidays, religious names reflecting a special role of the Mother of God cult. The onomasticon of lamentations is also an important linguo-geographic source. For example, the predominance of Olonets toponymy in Lamentations and its hydrocentricity (a large share of names of water bodies and settlements located near large lakes and rivers) attests to the North Russian origin of this genre. Frequent mentions of the names of monasteries and the near-by holy sources, facts of ecclesiastical naming of cemeteries, and other local features also highlight the regional specificity of this collection.

Resumen
The paper explores the variety of onomastic strategies in the short story Nikola Znamensky by Fyodor Reshetnikov, a follower of the ethnographic movement in the Russian literature of 1860s. It is typical for his works to omit the use of first names in the titles (Glumovs, Aunt Oparikh, Gossip Mironikh, Ilyich, Maxya, Yashka) whilst they play an important role in the stories. For example, the Doctor’s story begins with the first name and so it ends. The name suggests that the protagonist (albeit not openly) opposes himself to the official church position. Apart from that, the character himself claims that the name predicts his fate. Having lost the spiritual title, he also refuses the name. Within the text, only ten characters are named, and the naming strategies used in each case are different. The distinguishing factor is the variability of the name forms. This article aims to understand whether this variation affects the way the nature of the character is represented in the story. The analysis shows that the story features six context-driven forms of the name of the story’s main character, Nikola Znamensky. Religious teachers address Nikola by using the full form of the name. The narrator also refers to him as Nikolai. The character himself (and his fellows) tend to use both the full and the “folk” forms of the name (Nikola, Mikola, Mikula). The members of the family use the hypocoristic forms. The names of other characters (from the family circle: brother, sons) are also subject to change: the full form is typical for the speech of the narrator, the derivative diminutive -ka appears in the speech of the priest. The protagonist’s namesake son also has a separate derivative name reference (Nikolai — Kolka) which emphasizes the special role of the title character. The name’s variability thus reflects the main character’s embedding into various social networks and, more importantly, into the “folk” paradigm linking it to the figure of Saint Nicholas. The author concludes that Reshetnikov uses name variability as a characteristic means that adds to the types portrayed in the story.

Resumen
This article examines the set of proper names recorded in Oleksandr Kozynets’ collection “Roads of Light” (2021), which has the form of a poetic calendar. Theoretical concepts concerning research were described: onomasticon, literary and art onomasticon, criteria for describing set of proper names. 453 proper names were recorded in 366 texts grouped by seasons and months. Poem titles were classified according to structural and parts of speech features and the following groups were identified: single-component poem titles (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns), multi-component poem titles (titles-compounds, titles with a subordinating conjunction, titles with a conjunctive conjunction, etc.). One-component titles were more frequent (92% of 366 units). 69% of the titles are represented by nouns, 16% by verbs. Compound titles predominate among multi-component units (45%). The functions of poem titles in the decoding of texts are described, the title of the collection is investigated. The functioning of repeated title lexemes in view of grammatical meanings (without change or with a change in grammatical form) is revealed. The examples made it possible to demonstrate the role of poem titles in the creation of means of textual imagery and phonostylistic means. Proper names were classified according to lexical-semantic features: chrononyms, theonyms, anthroponyms, biblionyms, oikonyms, choronyms, oronyms, etc. Chrononyms turned out to be the most frequent (39% of 87 units), which is explained by the form of the collection. This is a poetic calendar, where some texts are dedicated to holidays of various nature. The use of theonyms (17%) is caused by the author’s worldview and Christianity. It was found that most of the proper names are used in their literal meaning. These proper names reveal intertextual connections with other texts, outline the toponymy of the poem action, the feelings of the lyrical hero and the author.

Resumen
This study identified and cataloged the legends of place names and historical figures from a compilation of oral narratives collected from nine regions nationwide, as documented in the 『Comprehensive Korean Oral Literature』 and the 『Complementary Edition of Comprehensive Korean Oral Literature』. For this, text mining techniques were employed, involving the analysis process of “data collection → preprocessing of regional information → preprocessing of proper nouns → analysis of regional folklore → data generation.” First, we collected data on 26,542 oral narrative titles and preprocessed the regional information, which was not organized by administrative divisions at the “provincial” level. Subsequently, we categorized the data into nine regions. Next, we conducted a task to identify proper nouns that were not recognized by the morphological analyzer and registered them as nouns. In this process, we used the “associated word network” analysis technique to identify proper nouns. Once the preprocessing task of verifying and modifying the proper nouns was completed, we extracted the frequency of the nouns in each region. Then, to select nouns that guarantee the uniqueness of the region, the frequency was “normalized” and the value was “scaled.” Additionally, the criterion for selecting the unique place names and people of each region was defined by the term “maximum regional share” and selected as 80%. As a result, 520 nouns were extracted, of which only proper nouns corresponding to place and personal names were filtered. Based on this, for legends of place names, place names were classified into “natural features,” “artificial features,” and “village names” for each region, according to the “nature of the evidence.” This list has been compiled. In the legends of historical figures, the corresponding personal names are presented for each region. Legends of place names are crucial as they reveal how residents of each region shape and give meaning to their lives in the “space where history intersects.” However, legends of historical figures deserve attention for their exploration of individuals in the region who have been marginalized or excluded from historical awareness accumulated over time and documented in written records.

Resumen
The paper is devoted to the problem of semantics of proper names. Nowadays, in linguistics, there are different points of view on the nature of the semantics of proper names. This paper states the discovery of a new kind of meaning of proper names - psycholinguistic. This concept is based on the use of experimental methods for studying the meanings of words, which involves an appeal to the consciousness of native speakers. Psycholinguistic experiments were carried out by us in Voronezh. Subjects - 330 students. The method of free and directed associative experiment was used. Various toponyms (“Moscow”, “St. Petersburg”, “Volgograd”), including “Voronezh”, were used as a stimulus material. According to the results of experiments on the stimulus “Voronezh”, a total of 1,055 verbal associative reactions were obtained. Then the semantic interpretation of associative reactions was carried out, which consists in understanding the reactions as linguistic representations of certain signs of the denotation - semantic components. As a result, the psycholinguistic meaning of the toponym “Voronezh” was formulated, which is very different from its meaning in toponymic dictionaries. We call this new kind of meaning psycholinguistic.

Resumen
Interdisciplinary research in the field of consciousness and ways of its representation using verbal and nonverbal codes seems to be particularly fruitful at the intersection of linguistics and philosophy, psychology and biology, medicine and neuroscience. Linguistic consciousness is considered in the works of E.S. Kubryakova (2012), R.I. Pavilionis (1983), L.S. Vygodsky (2018), A.N. Leontiev (1975). The information theories of consciousness in philosophy are analyzed in the works of D.A. Fodor (1987), F. Dretske (1981), D.I. Dubrovsky (2015), D. Chalmers (2013). The information theory of consciousness is applied as the basis of the conception of the spiral development of the meaning of a proper name. The concept of onomastic knowledge is analyzed, the conceptual complex structures, which serve as a basis for the mental representations of onomastic knowledge, are given. The concept of onomastic consciousness is introduced as part of the linguistic consciousness responsible for the formation and development of onomastic competence. The definition of onomastic competence is given as the ability to encode information using proper names, both of individualizing and characterizing nature, as well as the ability to manipulate proper names in all variety of systemic and discursive functions to achieve the goal of communication. The analysis of the cognitive-functional specifics of proper names is given on the examples of the novels “Piranesi” by S. Clark and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” by Q. Tarantino. The specifics of the proper name as an objectifier of consciousness and onomastic competence as an indicator of the formation and development of onomastic consciousness are analyzed. According to the information theory of consciousness, onomastic consciousness determines the meaning of proper names.

Resumen
The article examines the history and current state of onomastic lexicography in the Slavic countries. The study is driven by the importance of collecting data on Slavic dictionaries of proper names for in-depth research on the theory of Slavic onomastics including comparative studies based on onomastic material of several closely related languages. The purpose of this analytical review is to summarize and evaluate the experience of the lexicographic description of proper names developed in the Slavic countries. The introductory part of the article deals with general problems of the lexicography of proper names. This includes an overview of studies on lexicographic descriptions of onyms in Russia, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. Some references are made on Slavic onomastic dictionaries published in other countries, primarily in Germany. Dictionaries are grouped by their nature (historical and etymological, normative, linguocultural, dictionaries of an author’s language) and by name types they study (place names, personal names, animal names, etc.). There is also a description of mixed type onomastic dictionaries based on several typological principles, and some new types of dictionaries and lexicographic projects to be published. The authors evaluate contribution made by lexicography experts in different Slavic countries in the development of the research. Special mention is made of the role of Russian onomastic lexicography against the background of other Slavic languages. The final part of the article discusses prospects for the development of Slavic onomastic lexicography requiring collaborative efforts of lexicographers from several Slavic countries.

When Joyce names his hero after a character from Ovid, the name indicates the subjectivity of multiple personalities and reflects Joyce's strategy of parallelism between contemporary life and mythical imagery. Samuel Beckett is one of the few who fully understood the nature of Joyce's nomenclature, and the existence of the character Belacqua in his early fiction, taken from Dante's , bears witness to this awareness. By comparing Beckett's system of naming with Joyce's, I would like to examine the way in which Beckett treats proper names.

"Brand names represent a thesaurus of semantic effects, which evoke, individually and / or collectively, emotions, images, symbols. The development of the consumer society has created a competitive economic market, which is constantly generating new names for products and services. The phenomenon seems to be exclusively of an economic nature, but, in reality, it is a linguistic one, before anything else. Trademark names are part of commercial onomastics, representing a phenomenon between morphology and semantics, between lexicology and pragmatics. Brand names are not only denotative, but also have connotations for consumers, which must be taken into account in communication. The paper analyzes a vast corpus of names of local trademarks in semantic, typological and functional terms. The main objective of economic agents in choosing a brand name is the possible commercial success of the brand. Thus, some companies choose common, usual, stylistically unmarked names, others plead for suggestive or creative names. Trademark names represent proper names (anthroponyms, toponyms), common names (lexemes), morphological creations, lexemes with spelling changes, phraseologies (polylexical sequences), logos and numerical indicators, a priori similar words, etc."

Resumen
AbstractDivine names are linguistic objects that underlie the grammar of religious language. They serve as both representations and presentations of the divine. As representations, divine names carry information pertaining to God’s nature or actions, and his unique will, in a manner that adequately represents him. As presentations, divine names are believed to somehow effect divine presence in proximity to the believer, opening a path of direct connection to God. This paper seeks to analyze the interaction between presentation and representation concerning divine names in major trends within Judaism and Islam, from the Hebrew Bible and the Qur’an to medieval theological debates. It aims to demonstrate how central currents within both traditions shaped the intricate relation between divine presentation and representation through the prism of divine names. Whereas positions in philosophy of language focus on either the representational or the presentational functions of proper names, Jewish and Islamic theologies suggest ways to combine the two functions with regard to divine names.

Resumen
The article deals with the analysis of semantics of the Ukrainian and English phraseological units with proper names as their components. The objective is to identify isomorphic and allomorphic semantic characteristics of idioms with proper names, which is considered to be a group of words with a specific linguo-cultural status. The language corpus is constituted by 300 English and 291 Ukrainian idioms with proper names as components selected from dictionaries of idioms. A number of research methods have been applied in order to reach the objective, among which are comparative analysis, componential analysis, method of phraseological identification. As a result, the role of proper names in the idioms structure has been outlined. The types of idioms according to the component they are constituted by have been considered. The linguistic status of proper names has been identified. The correlation of the national and international components in the idioms structure has been determined. Peculiarities of semantics of the English and Ukrainian idioms under study have been described, as well as specificity of their connotative meaning. The method of quantitative analysis was used to ouline the trends concerning the frequency value of the semantic features in question.Results. As individual designations of various objects, proper names acquire their meaning and become linguistic signs only when the connection with an object is established. As part of idioms, proper names undergo complex semantic transformations, with their semantics being enriched. Being the constituent parts of idioms, proper names lose the function of individualization and acquire the ability to generalize, characterize, thus transforming into language unit with an expressive meaning. The analysis of the idioms with onomastic component in the Ukrainian and English languages made it possible to single out such components within their structure as anthroponyms, toponyms, astronyms, as well as to classify the language units under study, and to model their major semantic types. Accordingly, the analysis of phraseological units with onomastic component brings into open the principles of the semantic organization of the language units under study, which verbalize the worldviews of the corresponding language communities. The anthropocentric approach to the investigation of the linguistic phenomenon in question has been defined as the main one. Correspondingly, the component “antroponym” within the structure of the phraseological units and the semantic group “Characteristics of a person” have been identified as considerably predominant in both languages. The idioms under study mostly possess negative evaluative connotations. No correlation has been established between gender reference and negative or positive connotation.Conclusions. Idioms with proper names make an important linguistic and cultural layer of the vocabulary in English and Ukrainian. A significant predominance of anthroponyms in the idioms structure is an isomorphic feature of this group of words. This fact, as well as the significant nominative density of the semantic group “Characteristics of person” in both languages can be accounted for by the anthropocentric nature of the phraseological systems of the languages under study. Astronyms as idiom components are found only in English, which is an allomorphic feature. In terms of origin, both national-specific and international units are found in the language corpus. A manifestation of isomorphism is also the fact that a significant part of English and Ukrainian phraseological systems is constituted by idioms with biblical and ancient proper names. The prevailance of negative idioms is connected with conceptualization of reality, where the positive is treated as the norm, and the negative is a violation of the norm, so it attracts more attention. The gender factor does not affect the nature of the idiom evaluative meaning. Key words: idiom, onomastic component, anthroponym, toponym, phraseological meaning, comparative method.

Resumen
The paper is devoted to unofficial names of monuments and urban sculpture, or unofficial monumentonyms. The author discusses their usage in field interviews, popular media, Internet discussions, excursions, in texts on local history, and in dictionaries. Particular attention is paid to the aspect of variability of these names. The proposed comparative model for describing their “morphology” suggests the invariance of a monument’s subject (that is parodied in an unofficial name) and the changeability of the verbal form of the onym. The metaphoric nature of the discussed type of names makes them similar to the riddles. The author shows that names of this type verge between toponymy and ideonymy, as well as between proper names and urban folklore. Their usage cases in literary texts and colloquial speech do not always allow us to unambiguously qualify them as onomastic or folklore units. Such verbal formulas are often part of evaluative statements and comments about monuments (their subject, position in urban space, etc.), they can be found in jokes (sometimes just stating the fact that a monument is called in a certain way), become objects of an individual or group naming and, finally, they can be used as proper names in the full sense. These names are often used in a limited social milieu or exist for a short time. Their “canonization” is determined by inclusion in local history discourse, by popularization in media, etc.

The paper summarizes and etymologically analyzes onomastic units in the group of Talas monuments belonging to ancient Turkic monuments. Although ancient Turkic monuments have been studied in terms of genre, written language, and alphabetic features, in terms of literary criteria, the onomastic space in ancient texts they have not been fully considered. In particular, the relevance of the topic is determined by the absence of proper names in the Talas monuments, which are small in size. The purpose of the study is to identify the onomastic space in the Talas monuments, which was not previously considered, and to conduct an etymological analysis of each onomastic unit. In connection with this goal, it is planned to perform the following tasks: provide information about the discovery and study of Talas monuments; dial all the proper names in the Talas monuments and divide them into onomastic types; group the found onomastic units by type and perform an etymological analysis of each; identification of common features of proper names in the Talas monuments with the Yenisei, Orkhon onomastic units. The author compares the previously expressed opinion, and conclusions about the meaning of historical names, and then offers his own conclusions. The study used retrospective analysis, description, grouping, and comparativehistorical methods characteristic of linguistics. Due to the peculiar difficulty of deciphering the etymology of historical, ancient names, the author notes that the predictive nature of the conclusions proposed by him prevails. Nevertheless, it is not difficult to see that etymological analyzes have been made quite successfully. In the introductory part of the research paper, small information about the discovery and study of Talas monuments, the specifics of the appointment, and the timing of the appointment are given. Scientists who read and translated Talas monuments include V. V. Radlov, P. M. Melioransky, G. Geikel, S. E. Malov, Yu. Nemet, H. N. Orkun, A. S. Amanzholov, etc. He was a turkologist-scientists, mainly engaged in such things as the correct reading of texts written in stone, transcription, translation into modern Turkic languages, the definition of the genre, and comparison of historical data. And the onomastic units in the Talas meters have not been studied separately. Some researchers leave only comments on open proper names, the meaning of which is clear. For example, Professor A. S. Amanzholov adds his own etymology to the anthroponym Udun ("Skverny") at the monument to Ayyrtam-Oi. The anthroponym was not isolated from the text and did not make a separate analysis. The translation of proper names found in the Talas texts was taken by professors I. A. Batmanov and A. S. Amanzholov. The correct names found in about 20 monuments found in the Talas River Valley were analyzed etymologically. In particular, anthroponym, ethnonym, and toponym types of proper names were typed. Since most of the ancient Turkic monuments are written in the epitaphic genre, it is quite natural that the share of anthroponyms among these texts prevails, so 17 antroponyms were identified and linguistic analysis was carried out. In addition to that, two ethnonyms, and one toponym, met. Not all ancient monuments have proper names, however, even this small group can provide quite rich linguistic and historical information. In the final part of the paper, the specific features of the onomastic space in the Talas monuments, their connection with proper names in the Yenisei and Orkhon texts, and valuable conclusions were made regarding the history of ancient Turkic writing. It is proved that the Talas-Yenisei-Orkhon written monuments were written in one language. These findings are a novelty of the paper.

Resumen
Ukrainian physical terms – names of static features have been analyzed in the article. Partial word-forming meanings of derivatives within physical terminology have been discovered. Structural types of word-forming bases of proper Ukrainian and loan derivatives have been analyzed. Nature of interaction among different word-forming types within researched word-forming category has been considered. The conducted research leads to the following conclusions. The formation of Ukrainian physical terms – names of static features is carried out in the same way as in common language word - forming processes. This process is characterized by such regularities: tendency to concentration, generalization of main derivative types, limitation of their number in the researched derivative category (only two types of proper Ukrainian adjective terms: with suffix - ість and one type of loan terms with suffix - -изм/-ізм- are productive in physical terminology).

The article deals with the analysis of the Russian and Polish paremiological units which in their structure contain the first names of Hebrew origin. Upon the proper idiom material the author shows their diversity both in the morphological and word-formative respect especially in Russian language with a high frequency of hypocoristic derivatives. The other respect is of functional and semantic character and it is reflected in the wide topical spectrum of proverbs containing Hebrew first names. Those proverbs describe not only a human beings’ character but also his behaviour, the phenomena of nature, extra-linguistic situations, customs and rituals.

Resumen
ABSTRACTProper names have often been discussed by philosophers of language without the benefit of anthropological insights. This article combines research from these two fields in order to move toward a theory of naming as social practice – emphasizing the nature of naming and nicknaming as it is crucially attached to cultural history, social context, and individual experience. To exemplify this notion, the article outlines naming and its various functions as described by and used in the narratives of one young man from the “Diamond Street” gang who goes by the nickname “Little Creeper.” A discussion of outsiders' interpretations of gang names indicates how the meaning of a name can be transformed in different social contexts without losing its association with the initial referent. Resumen
Reviewing the diversity of responses in English-language ecotheology over the last forty years or so, what impresses the reader is the vigour of the response of theology to ecological concerns. Of course, every undergraduate who has studied in this area can quote Lynn White’s 1967 judgement that ‘Christianity is the most anthropocentric religion the world has seen’. Yet, as you review the material, that is hardly the only impression the reader is left with. Mostly, what strikes home is the range and energy of the theological responses. Of course, some adherents of theology proper might regard ecotheology as without standing. Is not environmental concern after all properly a matter for Christian social ethics? However, for those who consider that environmental concern presents the need for the construction or reconstruction of Christian commitments, ecotheology names that theological effort. In what follows, three ways are identified in which nature enters into theology as a way of presenting how ecotheology proceeds. Moreover, a narrative of development is offered in the sense that ecotheology has unfolded by drawing on immanentist themes in theology that stress the presence of God. As difficulties have emerged with this procedure, ecotheology has sought to attend to emerging issues and problems. Finally, this essay concludes by bringing the story of ecotheology up to date: the final topic of consideration is the ecotheology of climate change.

Resumen
The paper is a study in the field of comparative European socio-cultural onomastics. Following the previously elaborated and tested tenets, it centres upon the lodging establishment names of Lviv, Krakow, and Vienna at the beginning of the 20th c., also including the relevant data of the Varsovian onomasticon of the period. The former cities then belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire; at the same time, they were part of several different and and historically variable linguistic-cultural areals and systems. In particular, the author regards their hotel signage as part of the common European inventory of disembodied proper names, realized by its regional varieties. It is the author’s contention that genetically, the inner form of researched hotel names is of double nature, relating to what he terms their ultimate underlying item, on one hand, and on the other, and coincidentally, to more or less general stocks of European and national ‘ready-made’ hotel names, which he considers as emerging by means of cloning from precedent and prototypal items. As a result, a name can be of both deappellative and deonomastic origin. The categorial parameters of derivation employed in the study include, basically, proper / common underlying name distinction, and within the former, various subtypes of toponyms, such as names of cities, countries, regions, large geographical entities, anthropogenic and physiogenic chrematonyms, and names of city features immediately associated with a hotel, and also culturally marked anthoponyms. Cross-cutting these are features of national appurtenance, determining the general geopolitical orientation of a specific city hotel naming, such as the Polish one with Krakow, Lviv, and Warsaw (with the latter, also the German, although to a lesser degree) and the Austro-Hungarian as well as Anglo-Saxon with Vienna. With deappellative names, relevant is the evaluative vs. descriptive distinction, the latter variant specified as coinages from the venue’s locality or its emblem

Resumen
Proper names are a minoritarian yet fairly controversial topic in translation and interpreting literature. Some authors believe that they have been traditionally disregarded, becoming «one of translation’s coziest fortresses» (Albin, 2003); however, a number of prominent translation and interpreting scholars have explicitly studied proper names (Hermans, 1988; Moya Jiménez, 2001; Nord, 2003), and a stream of recent publications underline the challenge they represent in fields as varied as biomedicine (Cariello et al., 2021), literature (Jouini, 2020; Sarmaşık, 2022) and the law (Tang, 2021), among others. This paper proposes the integration of terminology databases and onomastics for interpreter and translator training. We will adopt a constructionist approach (cf. Goldberg, 1995). The download functionality of the terminology management system IATE is employed to extract a reliable English-Spanish dataset of 3,997 organization names, which is first analyzed in a quantitative-qualitative manner, and then exploited to design three templates (easy, medium, and advanced) aimed at bilingual naming practice. Results show a generally rich and robust dataset, with 96% cascading domain names, 66% marked as very reliable and only 8% as deprecated or obsolete. By contrast, most names (75%) were labelled as terms, which shows no consideration for their onymic nature and small or no relevance of other specialized knowledge representations (abbreviations, phrases, short terms, and non-linguistic forms). The proposed templates extensively develop a Goldbergian-style notation system for construction, and their flexibility and replicability make them a good candidate for automatization and/or combination with documentation resources and NLP-based tools throughout the learning process.

Resumen
The present work, entitled Some peculiarities of the use of definite articles in proper nouns (anthroponyms and toponyms): a semantic approach in a comparative perspective between Mozambican Portuguese and European Portuguese, has as main objective to analyze the use of definite articles in proper nouns ( anthroponyms and toponyms) in Mozambican Portuguese. In this sense, we try to describe the different contexts in which the presence/absence of definite articles in proper names (anthroponyms and toponyms) occurs in European Portuguese (EP), we also try to compare the use of definite articles in proper names (anthroponyms and toponyms) in Mozambican Portuguese (PM) with European Portuguese (PE). The study is of a descriptive nature and to carry out the data analysis, a written corpus was built that resulted from the application of two linguistic tests, namely a provoked production test (filling in empty spaces in Portuguese sentences), composed of thirteen ( 13) sentences and a test of grammaticality and/or acceptability judgments, consisting of twenty-six (26) sentences. The inquiry was directed to eighty (80) students of the 10th Grade of the Secondary School of Tete. The analyzed data allowed us to verify that in the variety of Mozambican Portuguese, speakers constantly omit the definite articles in sentences with simple anthroponyms in different positions and contexts, thus creating a difference with European Portuguese; they omit definite articles in contexts where simple toponyms occur (referring to place names that designate landforms), in a predicative syntactic position of the subject; in short, the study allowed us to verify several differences in the two varieties of Portuguese, with regard to the use and/or omission of definite articles in different contexts.

The subject of this paper is proper names of two generations within a timespan of 10 years. The materials have been excerpted from registry records of the Leskovac School of Economics «Đuka Dinić». In the paper, a comparative analysis of the anthroponyms (personal given names/surnames) of the generation enrolled at the school in the year 2008/2009 (born in 1993) and the generation enrolled in 2018/2019 (born in 2003) will be performed. The aims of the paper are to conduct a semantic-motivational and structural-derivational analysis, and then determine the frequency of names among the first and the second generation of students and compare the two anthroponymic systems — that is, to summarize how much the anthroponymic system has changed in the last ten years, the sort of alterations that have been made and the nature thereof. Key words: Serbian language, anthroponyms, personal name, Leskovac

Resumen
This article considers paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations of words included in the lexico-semantic field ‘ Grain Crops and Products Made of Them ’ as exemplified in the business- and work-related written records which date back to the 16- the early 18 centuries. It describes a number of derivative words that are associated with the word khleb [bread] and examines word-formative chains with the initial names of bread grains ( rozh’ [rye], pshenitsa [wheat], oves [oats], yachmen’ [barley], grechikha [buckwheat], proso [millet]) and food products made of them ( muka [flour], krupa [cereal], kasha [porridge], tolokno [oat flour], kisel’ [kisel], etc.). This article analyzes the work-related names of doers ( khlebnik [a baker/ a grain merchant], ovsyanik [an oat seller], etc.) and the proper names derived from them ( Khlebnik, Khlebnikov, Ovsyanik, Ovsyanikov , etc.) within the structure of each word-formation paradigm. Relations between nouns (names of grain types and products made of them) and adjectives or verbs in the context have been reviewed in respect of the syntagmatic aspect. We have revealed the word-formation rows with the initial verbs molotit’ [to thresh] and molot’ [to grind] which components reflect different stages of grain processing ( obmolotit’ [to shell], umolotit’ [to thresh/to beat], peremolotit’ [to thresh all], vymolotit’ [to thresh out], smolotit’ [to thresh/to flail]; smolot’ [to mill], peremolot’ [to grind again], namolot’ [to grind a quantity of]). Due to the fact that grain crops were also used in the beverage industry, we have examined the nominative units connected with brewing and distillation technologies, too. They are the names of the raw materials ( solod [malt], suslo [wort], etc.), the names of the production processes ( varit’ [to brew], kurit’ [to distill over], sidet’ [obsolete: to distil], gnat’ [to distil]), the work-related names of doers ( solodovnik [a maltster], pivovar [a brewer], vinokur [a distiller], etc.) and the proper names formed on their basis ( Solodovnik , Solodovnikov , Pivovar, Pivovarov , etc.). Having applied the linguistic analysis to the derived lexical units found in the Russian written records, we have discovered stable semantic transitions from the sphere of ‘Priroda’ (rasteniya) [nature (plants)] to the sphere of ‘Chelovek’ (lichnoye imya) [a man (a personal name) through the sphere of ‘ Obshchestvo’ (professiya) [a society (a profession)].

Resumen
The article analyzed toponyms used by boykos in songs. Any proper names used in folk art are the object of study of folklore onomastics. Today, this science is in the field of view of many researchers who characterize both folk prose and folk songs from the point of view of proper names. On the basis of the source "Boyko Folk Songs" (vols. 1–2), 322 folklore toponyms were analyzed. The toponymic composition of the songs of the Boyko region was taken into account because of the autochthonous nature of the region and the preservation of many linguistic and cultural features of our people. The main points raised in this article were a wide representation of various types of toponyms preserved in the folklore of the Boikos, the reproduction of the verbal environment of the onym and the clarification of typical compatibility, as well as the clarification of the frequency of the use of such names and their functions in the folk text. As a result, it was found that oikonyms (148), choronyms (110), microtoponyms (38) and oronyms (26) function the most in songs. Onyms in the folk art of the Boykos correlate primarily with the plot, thematic and genre specifics of the texts. Toponyms are often combined with adjectives, pronouns and are also accompanied by prepositions, which emphasize and enhance the locativeness of the folk song space. The most frequent in the texts are the oikonym Lviv, the choronym Ukraine, the microtoponym Magura and the oronym Makivka. These toponyms vividly identify the national and symbolic expanse. Fixed proper names mainly perform identification, locative, emotional and symbolic functions. Therefore, in the course of the analysis, the view that folklore toponyms are the national and cultural map of Ukraine, our value, engraved in words, was confirmed. Such names contain information about the history of the region, about the landscape, social and cultural diversity of the Boykivshchyna.

Resumen
Abstract English is the source of many of the colloquial, unofficial names we use for towns, cities, regions and the like in Spain today. Yet, due to the special (some might even say marginal) linguistic status of proper names and the ever-changing, fluid nature of informal Spanish, the importance and extent of this particular kind of influence of English on the Spanish lexicon have gone unnoticed in studies on Anglicisms. Based on a corpus of European Spanish tweets containing colloquial alternatives for traditional place names, this article examines some two hundred unconventional toponyms borrowed from or somehow inspired by English. Not surprisingly, only a few of these toponyms qualify as genuine Anglicisms. Most are faux-English pronunciations, spellings or names translated, often quite badly, from Spanish. The inherent oddity and humour of these loanwords, be they authentic or faux, hinge on an incongruity between their anglicised forms and the cultural affiliation of their referents and serve to create a sense of social closeness between participants in conversation.

Resumen
This article analyses the Polish pronoun ten (‘this’) located next to proper names in contexts such as ten Martynowski, ten Marek, ten Gdańsk, ten Giewont. Due to its occurrence in immediately next to two expressions which primarily function as exponents of specific reference, one can put forward a hypothesis that the investigated pronoun is not applied in its referential function in this type of settngs. Thus, it ceases to be a demonstrative pronoun, and assumes linguistic properties other than its basic ones. The aim of this study is to determine the linguistic nature of such occurrences of ten, also in reference to the thesis prevailing in the relevant literature, which, among other aspects, concerns the expressive value of such applications of the pronoun. The combinations of ten with proper names selected for analysis will be juxtaposed with non-obligatory occurrences of this pronoun next to nouns (as, for example, in the sentence: Na tym wczorajszym indyku można sobie było zęby połamać (You could break your teeth on that turkey yesterday).

Resumen
Background. Forming a system of spatial, social and cultural landmarks, each speaker consciously/unconsciously records proper names which seem important. The most significant units are remembered, and it is they that determine the general idea of the entire set of marked objects. Since the system of linguistic units in the individual mental lexicon is regulated by a great number of subjective factors, it can be assumed that the tendencies of the reflection of reality in the mental lexicon common to a group of speakers open the way to the analysis of current social stereotypes. Shop and store names are one of the groups of commercial names, therefore, by their very nature, they are maximally oriented towards reflecting positive stereotypes of large social groups.Purpose. The purpose of this article is to analyze how the names of shops and stores are reflected in the mental lexicon of the women residents of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and to try to outline the connection between the proper names verbalization in speakers’ mental lexicon and their ideas about extralinguistic reality.Methods. The material for this study consists of 249 graphic variants of 160 names of clothing, footwear and food stores, collected by surveying 45 women residents of Kyiv. Descriptive, comparative, and quantitative methods were used in the research, and techniques of the structural method were occasionally involved.Results. Current store names in the capital of Ukraine create а very colorful linguistic landscape with its main feature – the predominance of foreign language components, both lexical and graphic. Among all this diversity, the speaker remembers 3 or 4 names оn average, which determine her idea of the general trends in the nomination of objects in this field and indirectly ‒ these objects themselves. The analysis of store and shop names active in the mental lexicon of Kyiv residents shows that the absolute majority of clothing and shoe stores (79 % and 81 %, respectively) are perceived by names identified with other cultural spaces. Not only the name’s origin, but primarily its graphic form is a clear indicator of belonging to some cultural space. The opposite case in the name system of grocery stores is recorded ‒ only 26 % of them were reproduced by respondents in Latin. The form in which the store or shop name is stored in the mental lexicon depends on a) the graphic code visualized on the signboard / in the advertisement and b) the sound form of the name commonly used in informal communication. The activity of the second factor directly depends on the symmetry of the sound and spelling of the barbarism name and the level of speaker’s foreign language competence. The result of the collision of different graphic codes in the speaker’s mind is mixing, which is manifested in the recording of the original form of the name from Latin to Cyrillic during memorization. Therefore, while keeping proper names in memory, speakers try to assimilate their form to the rest of the fixed units, and this often manifests itself in the transformation of the original form of proper name.Discussion. Oversaturation of Kyiv’s commercial ergonomics system with barbaric names forms a strong public stereotype about the attractiveness and progressiveness of other cultures in the consumption sphere and creates the illusion of the absence of national Ukrainian in it. Trying to master the system of store and shop names, Kyiv residents find themselves in a conflict situation: the dominant graphic code for them is the Cyrillic alphabet, while the Latin alphabet prevails in the visual space of Kyiv’s trade establishments. The way out of this situation is transformation ‒ recording of the original name with the help of a graphic system convenient for the speaker. In order to form a general idea about the reflection of the commercial proper names system in the mental lexicon of Ukrainians, it is necessary to involve in the study data from representatives of different age groups from different regions of the country.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to introduce some data of the fundamental work of A.P. Novosel’cev “The Khazar state and its role in the history of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus”, which is not used by historians, and to clarify the interpretations, proposed by the author. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that no assessment has been given in domestic journals to the numerous attempts to comprehend historical proper names: anthroponyms, ethnonyms, potamonyms, astyonyms and komonyms over the past three decades since the publication of the named work. Scientific novelty lies in the consistent observance of the requirements of comparative studies – a comparative-historical approach that demonstrates the insufficiency of simple comparisons. The main material of the research is onomatological excursuses and passages of the mentioned fundamental work of A.P. Novosel’cev. The result of their consideration is, firstly, the establishing the fallacy of deriving the astyonym and potamonym “Atil’” from the Finno-Ugric languages. Secondly, it is the reconstruction of the primordial archetype of the astyonym “Hamlyh”/”Hamlidzh” fixed by historical sources in the form of Hanlyh “Khan’s Residence”, “Capital”. Thirdly, it is the establishing the origin of one of the names of the Khazar capital Sarykshin. Fourthly, it is the proof of the periphrastic nature of the astyonym “Atil’”. Fifthly, it is the establishment of the primacy of A-anlaut (Atl) in the ancient name of the Volga River and the secondary nature of I-anlaut (Itil’).

The paper deals with proper names of demons (demononyms) featured in the local mythological texts of the Perm region, narrating of people with supernatural abilities. The research focuses on the names of the spirits which the sorcerers infuse into the victim’s body to cause illness. This universal tendency to “personify” the spirits of disease becomes apparent as it happens to be a recurrent element of the plot in such spirit-possession narratives. In this respect, the use of a proper name is yet another means of creating an anthropomorphic character which is the spirit of disease. Concurrently, a name might also bring in certain ethnic, social, cultural, and linguistic implications. In the Perm regional mythology, 67 demononyms have been identified. Most of them are anthroponyms transferred to the category of demononyms retaining the same derivational patterns. The functions of demononyms are similar, but not identical to those of anthroponyms (i.e. to name, to identify, to distinguish). The use of a particular name helps to identify and to differentiate the demon from the possessed victim or another spirit “cohabiting” with it. Therefore, demononyms have a twofold specifying / deictic nature: they go back to an anthroponym, but act as a substitute for the demon’s name. Ultimately, proper names of demons also serve to “legitimize” the presence of the spirits of disease in a person, which leads to more particular context-driven functions correlated with those of anthroponyms. On a larger scale, the use of demononyms in mythological narratives about people possessed with a spirit of the disease tends to reflect the traditional “friend” or “foe” opposition that is typical to the Slavic culture.
