The aim of this thesis is to answer the question of how to influence the votes promises of the votes results of selected political parties.. Investigated periods are covering the years 1992-2010. Work first clarifies the votes issue as such, it focuses on the theoretical basis for creating a decision-making model. The analytical part is focused primarily on specific promises, their measurement and evaluation of occurrence. To confirm or refute the fact that they have had election promises to influence the election model is used multicriteria analysis. Finally, the promises are evaluated along with their performance and the model is enhanced of their performance.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to process an analysis of financial supervision in the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Italy with special attention to banking industry which is the most influent part of the financial market in all countries. Besides this major analysis, the economic growth analysis for years 2000 to 2014 (2015) is made in every country. The very last step is a comparison of supervision systems and their connection to economic performance of countries. Conclusions bring the answer for my question: whether the economic condition (since 2000 until now) depends on the system of financial supervision in European countries. The theoretical part consists of chapters about the theory of national economy, financial markets, where there are basic theoretical concepts explained, market functions and market division. Last but not least, the theory of financial supervision is analyzed: what is the essence, legal framework, what is the supervision purpose and what are the goals of supervisors. Firstly, there should also be the theory of central banking but it does not make any sense to explain this theory here since central banks are not the main supervisor authorities of financial markets (except the Czech Republic, but also here the policies are separated). The practical part involves six subchapters, everyone is devoted to one state (the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy), the very last subchapter is about the comparison and analysis of results. In every state the history of financial market is processed together with institutional areas after 2000, legal framework and the analysis of supervision activity with special attention to capital, liquidity and resilience to shocks. European growth is analyzed according to GDP, inflation rate, unemployment, wage growth and GDP per capita in comparison with EU (28) and EA (19). The research brings the results that there is a connection between financial supervision and economic growth.

The subject of the dissertation is exploring the use of enterprise architecture as a managerial method to support the transformation (reform) of Czech public administration. The dissertation shows that enterprise architecture is in the public sector of Czech Republic still not used, even though public sector organizations want to continue improving its services and management in a way where enterprise architecture could be beneficial. The thesis aims to understand the needs of public authorities towards the possibilities and benefits of enterprise architecture and propose such a customization that could increase the adoption and use of enterprise architecture by these organizations. The main objective of thesis is to summarize individual partial results of author's research into the design of overall Concept of the structure and procedure of implementation of National Public Administration Architecture of Czech Republic. Research within the dissertation combines two basic research methods. Both represent qualitative research methods, suitable for the development of new methods and artefacts (Design Science Research) and for proof the hypotheses and outputs (Case Studies). To create preconditions of the proposed concept was necessary to verify the status of the Czech public administration from the perspective of current rate, needs and interest for the use of enterprise architecture to support the reform of public administration. To verify the status of environment and the needs served basic research questions, further elaborated into detailed questions of multiple case study. In the analytical part of the thesis are summarized significant findings the analysis of information resources and literature in the areas of a) the definition of enterprise architecture, its position, role and development trends for design changes in the structure and metamodel of TOGAF framework, b) the existence of available models and key design principles of application architecture reference model and c) experience of the implementation and use of enterprise architecture for public administration reform. The main part of the thesis focuses on the proposals in three areas. In the first part are designed theoretical and practical changes in the definition, structure and metamodel of enterprise architecture to better support its application for real reform of public administration, not only to improve the management of IT. Presented proposals are in the same time providing solutions to some identified discrepancies in the trends of development of enterprise architecture. General proposals are in parallel applied as changes in the standard TOGAF, which is then recommended as the initial framework for the National Public Administration Architecture of the Czech Republic. In the second part of the proposals are presented principles and content of the reference model of application architecture. This is an example the accelerator necessary to solve the discrepancy between the scope of enterprise architecture and its feasibility with limited resources. The thesis emphasize the industry adjusted model for public administration and its application in a hierarchical, fractal environments typical of public administration. In the third part are presented key components of the overall concept, using as well as previous research results of this thesis. As the key elements are presented proposal for the structure of National Public Administration Architecture of the Czech Republic environment, proposal for the procedure of implementation of National Architecture and the proposal of products (outputs) for deploying National Architecture in Czech Republic. Additionally are formulated proposals of ways of using National Architecture in Czech public administration and conditions and prerequisites for introduction of National Architecture in the Czech public administration.

The diploma thesis deals with Czech political system in the second Czechoslovak Republic (1938 - 1939). In this historically short period, liberal democracy has changed into an authoritative democracy. The power of the right-wing parties prevailed in the political system. In the case of Czech countries a bi-party political system, which is unique in Czech history, has been created. The main aim of the diploma thesis is to describe the political party system in the Czech lands in the Second Republic period, and to look at the political parties that formed it. It also deals with the Second Republic in general, with the historical, economic, cultural and social context of that time. In the final part, there are summarized all the conclusions I came to. The sources were mainly archive sources, specialized literature dealing with the subject and political party periodicals but even non-political periodicals from that time. This Master's thesis is depicting the development of the National Liberal Party, from the earliest stage in the 1860s, up to the year 1914. This depiction is based on expert texts as well as historical and political science literature. The thesis is focused on the political background in Austria and subsequently also Austria-Hungary. The historical part of the thesis is primarily focused on the absolute regime, as well as the national efforts to liberalize the constitutional and political demands. A standalone part of the thesis is dedicated to the division between the Old Czech Party and the Young Czech Party, primarily focusing on their political differences and shared nationalism. The establishment of the National Liberal Party in 1874 was followed by its political and agenda development. The political development is depicted in its election results, as well as its functioning in the parliament of Cisleithania. Since 1879, both the Old Czech Party and the Young Czech Party participated in defending the human rights in Vienna's Czechen-Club. The year 1891 brought about a large change when the National Liberal Party won in the election against the National Party and so became the hegemon of Czech politics. This work aims to demonstrate differences in national memory of Communism in the Czech Republic and Poland. It looks into the principles surrounding the practice of collective memory and then uses this to create a working methodology for the study of it in these two nations. In evaluating memory in these countries it relies upon the "Three Pillars" of past events, cultural output and popular opinion and stresses the interconnected nature of these academic areas. A further emphasis is placed upon the role of belief in shaping personal and group self-identity. The overall conclusions stress that both of the national memory of these countries has been shaped by their history, culture and popular opinion, and that this has created a divide between the Polish and Czech views of events during the Communist period. The divide is seen as characterised by particular "Czech" and "Polish" viewpoints which are the product of discourse on previous aspects of what it means to belong to these respective groups. National memory in essence builds upon itself, and will continue to do so. Future perceptions of what it means to be Czech or Polish will be shaped by this latest chapter in national memory.

Abstract in English language This work depicts the life story story of a "self-made man" Jaroslav Salda, the creator and director of the Melantrich, the biggest printing company in Czechoslovak time of so called First Republic. It is doing so by compiling interviews with period witnesses, archival documents and literary sources. Each chapter is a part of the answer to the question: How is it possible that the illegitimate child without funds and university education had become the man with extensive expertise, the frequent guest of Ministers and the President and the powerful head of the media industry? This text as a whole, firmly tied to the history of the Czech nation and Melantrich, reflects the experience of the man who dedicated his life to building, because he considered the constructive, innovative, diligent and hard work the main means of fulfillment in life and the key to success. It shows a person which embodies the adage: Where there is a will, there is a way. 1 Abstract The thesis whose subject is Comparation of legislation of National Parks in the Czech Republic and the Republic of South Africa deals In detail with the legislation of national parks, especially in comparison of the Czech legal system and the legal system of South Africa, but also with the international law and European Union law. The aim is mainly to analyze in detail the individual instruments and institutions that govern the environmental law in relation to national parks and to acquaint the readers with scope of nature conversation in Europe and Africa. The thesis also serves and explains the basic terms related to the territorial regulation of national parks and protected areas (prior to national parks) on both continents. National parks are the most important type of protected area; they are declare by the state and in the scope of nature conversation national parks are the most crucial mean of conversation. The regulation of national parks is embodied in the laws of individual states; in the Czech Republic it is the Act on the protection of nature and landscape of 1992 while in South Africa it is the Protected Areas Act of 2003. In general, however, the national legislation is very influenced by international treaties and by the international organizations whose influence is still growing....

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the The National Archival Collection of the Czech Republic (CR NKF). The library collection is absolutely unique in its main objective that is to collect all Czech and foreign bohemical printed and non-printed documents, including journals since 1901. This thesis aims to introduce this collection both in a historical and current context, especially via library line or through ongoing projects in cooperation with the CR NKF. In the end, the work exaplains long-term protection and preservation of modern library collections in foreign countries and compares it with the situation in the NKF in the Czech Republic.

This diploma thesis deals with the national presentation of the Czech Republic at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai in terms of mythology, symbols, signs and codes. It describes the history of the World Exhibitions, attempts to highlight Czechoslovak achievements and on the basis of that to define key points of successful communication for an international, predominately Chinese audience. By comparing information on traditional Chinese symbols and values with that of Czech explains correlations between Czech and Chinese culture. This can help visitors from China identify with the Czech Republic. A mythological analysis is executed examining the exterior of the Czech pavilion, the exhibition inside, and notes narrative structures of individual exhibits and how they work to provide the preferred interpretation. Part of the overall analysis includes an overview of supporting events, which also help to strengthen the perception of Czech Republic to visitors. The information gleaned is used to summarize learnings that could be useful for the upcoming EXPO in Milan in 2015.

Jan Nepomuk, count Harrach (1828-1909) was a member of an antient aristocratic dynasty, an important squirearch, a politician and a member of the Conservative Great Landowners Party; but also, a Czech aristocrat. The aim of this work is to provide a detailed analysis of political activities, views and ideas of count Harrach, conveyed through his writings, articles and speeches presented on the Bohemian land diet; and to present him not only as a conservative faithful to his class but also as an aristocrat, who willfully claimed allegiance to ethnic-linguistic conception of the Czech consciousness. The work follows a narrower focus on Jan Nepomuk's activities mentioned above, however it attempts to put them in context of his life and historical period, which constitute inseparable context. The source basis for the study are first and foremost archives from the personal literary remains of count Harrach stored in the National Archives of Austria in Vienna. Alongside, the contemporary press and administrative sources have also been used. In the first part of this study we describe different ways of view of the definition and analysis of party network in the Europe and the USA. The theoretical part deals also with evolutionary theory of political parties and different definitions of political parties. The practical part of the study focuses on the description of selected organizations that have a demonstrable relationship with the Czech Social Democrats and the few exceptions are surveyed organizations subordinate to them, or are very closely related with this party. This study therefore describes and analyses various organizations in terms of their focus, the number of members or the way of financing, but also in terms of interconnection with the party and among themselves. We mentioned also the unions, whose connection with the CSSD is based on history background. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive description of the surveyed organizations and at least generally assess their personal connections and influence of the direction of the CSSD. The aim of this work is the interpretation of the available biographical data of all deputies and senators of the Czechoslovak National Assembly, who worked in a joint parliamentary club of the Sudeten German Party (SGP) and the Karpaten German Party (KGP) in the period from the entry of the czechoslovak parliament in 1935 to the Anschluss of Austria in the spring of 1938. The Sudeten German Party became after the elections in 1935 the strongest party in the interwar Czechoslovakia by number of votes and played a significant role in the pre- Munich era. The stated objective of the unification of the entire German population in Czechoslovakia was largely fulfilled, thus the party became very heterogeneous. Using the methods of collective biography the work is aimed at providing all available sources to obtain data on the social and political background as well as on the various political and professional careers of the particular party officials who represented the SGP resp. the KDP in the Czechoslovak parliament and on the basis of these data should the results be put into the historical and social context and their common and different features be interpreted. Submitted diploma thesis brings the life fates of František Machník, last political minister of the national defence of the first Czechoslovak republic. He was one of the political symbols of the army in 30´s as the representative of the Agrarian party. He soon found that the possible new army conflict among nations could be very real. The whole European effort of keeping Versailles´ peace system was absolutely desperate. Machník became propagator of the nation´s military ability, he popularized the army in the public view and he inspired thousands of people for her. He gave her technic and institutional laws. He was interested in the financial support of the building of the border´s fortification. This diploma work tries as first to map Machník´s life from the very beginnings over his studies, teacher´s and school director´s career and MP activities. It looks on his early enter to the Agrarian party and his work for Agrarian academics. The three - years ministerial career emphasizes two important moments - the law of the national defence and Machník´s decree. WWII brought him first suffering - the Gestapo investigation and then he was sentenced to death and this was changed to life imprisonment. The author of this work is also interested in Machník´s postwar investigation and trial by the National Court in the year 1947. It was followed with the communistic trial in 1952 and 5 years imprisonment. The end of the thesis concentrates on the sad Machník´s retirement after the amnesty in 1953.

This dissertation deals with the Official Development Assistance. The purpose of this dissertation was, first of all, to find out whether the target aid is focused on the poorest countries of the world. The theoretical part concentrates primarily on the institutional history of the Official Development Assistance and also on the development of mainstream theories which influenced it to the highest degree. In the analytical part the dissertation draws particularly from the database of the Development Assistance Committee under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. From the global point of view, the dissertation is focused especially on the quantitative analysis of the changes in the allocation of the Official Development Assistance in the period from 1989 to 2008. From the geographical point of view, the spatio-temporal change in territorial priorities of important bilateral and multilateral donors and also the dependence of their expenditure on the socio-economic maturity of aid beneficiaries was analysed. The ability to clearly define the territorial priorities and on their basis to effectively target the development assistance is in national context analysed on the example of the Czech Republic. This diploma thesis is a case study dealing with the role of the European Union in the adoption of the Czech Civil Service Act in 2014. The author follows the question why the Act was adopted ten years after the Czech Republic joined the European Union. The first part of the thesis deals with the European administrative area and individual models of public administration in Europe. It also discusses the use of various forms of influencing the policies of the member states with different instruments. Further, the work analyzes the development of the service law in the Czech Republic and examines the strategies and approaches of the main actors in the legislative process. In order to find out how the issue was framed by political actors, the individual verbal speeches at the plenary sittings of the Czech Parliament are examined. In the last part, the findings are generalized to represent individual strategies and the dynamics of their change. In order to respond to the research goal, the data is interpreted on the basis of the Multiple Streams Framework, demonstrating a change in the status quo in the field of public service performance regulation.

1. ABSTRAKT Tato práce pojednává o životě Františky Zeminové (1882 - 1962), která působila jako redaktorka, národně-socialistická politička a aktivní členka ženského hnutí. Významná část práce mapuje její činnost v ženském hnutí a v různých ženských organizacích, zejména pak její činnost ve Výboru pro volební právo žen, který roku 1905 spoluzakládala. Byla velkou obdivovatelkou Masaryka a Beneše a byla to právě ona, kdo již při prvomájových slavnostech roku 1918 provolával slávu T. G. Masarykovi, za což byla na čas vypovězena z Prahy. Již od 14. listopadu 1918 se stala členkou Národního shromáždění, kde setrvala s výjimkou válečných let až do roku 1948. V průběhu své politické kariéry bojovala za plné zrovnoprávnění žen, za lepší pracovní podmínky, za zlepšení sociální situace vdov a sirotků a rázně zápolila s korupcí, prostitucí a alkoholismem. Věnovala se také hospodářským otázkám. Roku 1938 byla nucena stáhnout se z politického života a po celé trvání války působila v odboji. Ke konci války spoluzaložila Revoluční výkonný výbor národně-socialistické strany, který pomohl s obnovou strany v osvobozeném Československu. Po celý život a zejména pak v letech 1945-1948 se vyhrazovala proti politice Komunistické strany a po únoru 1948 odešla z politického a veřejného života. Roku 1949 byla zatčena a souzena v...

The thesis focuses on a chosen public policy issue, as a part of cultural policy, namely on an implementation of a project of new building of National library of Czech Republic in Prague, arisen from an international architecture competition. This thesis has a form of a case study paper and investigates all relevant events and circumstances of the case, as well as interested stakeholders. They were characterised to disclose their possible role in implementation deficit, which occurred in the case. The aim of this thesis is to provide complex insight into the case, to find the point of implementation deficit in the process and to identify the values and hidden motivations of stakeholders. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, there is a summary of theoretical knowledge about public policy and implementation process and its analysis. The author describes three possible approaches to implementation analysis. Second chapter focuses on culture and its specifics, in the forming of culture policy. The third chapter is a complete analysis of the case, including event analysis and stakeholder analysis. In the conclusion, the author sums up the identified causes of implementation deficit and gives recommendations for possible future implementation of a similar cultural project.

The master thesis Development of czech extreme right-wing after 1989 deals with three the most significant far right-wing parties in Czech republic after 1989. These parties are Association for republic - Czechoslovak Republican Party (SPR-RSČ), National Party (NS) and Workers' Party (DS). The only far right-wing body shall, which was able to enforce on Czech political scene and obtain representation in the Parliament was SPR-RSČ. Other two parties were unsuccessful in elections. Thesis has an ambition to make clear, why SPR-RSČ was that successful and other parties were not. But at the beginning of the thesis is explained concept of far right-wing. After this, is a chapter about SPR-RSČ, which was significant political party in the 90's. Nevertheless after unsuccessful elections in 1998 became piece by piece minor political force. Next part refers about NS, which was very unsuccessful in elections, but was able to attract attention of Czech media by its actions. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the role of the transnational actor at the national level in particular case of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. The study is divided into two main parts. The first, theoretical part focuses on three theoretical strands. The first chapter focuses on the development of theoretical perceptions of non-state actors in international relations since the 1970s. The goal of the first chapter is to examine concept of interdependence, global governance, the new transnationalism and transnational private governance. The second chapter focuses on multinational corporations. The analysis emphasizes the dynamics of research and development of transnational corporations and their relationship with the nation state. The goal of the third theoretical chapter is to explore the process of interest representation within the nation state. The diploma thesis Pragmatization of a global magazine: glocalization and local globalisation (case study of Czech and French versions of Elle) is focused on the manifestation of the French and Czech culture in Europe and worldwide. Its objective is to analyze cultural signs that are introduced into these cultures via the global lifestyle magazine Elle. The theoretical part includes definitions of the term culture in its anthropological meaning and its relation to the natural languages. The French and Czech culture are described afterwards on the basis of their history, religion, language and cultural symbols. Then the role of globalization in the modern society and its influence on culture and media are explained. Also the profile of the samples, i.e. the French and Czech versions of the magazine Elle, is given, as well as the characterization of the research methods chosen for this study. Thesis deals with the issue of dissolution of political parties. States should recognise that everyone has the right to associate freely in political parties. As a particularly far-reaching measure, enforced dissolution of political party may only be justified in the case of party that advocates the use of violence as a political means to overthrow the democratic constitutional order, thereby undermining the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution. The dissolution of a political party is an exceptional measure in a democratic society and should be govern by the principle of proportionality. Apart from Czech legislation and recent judicial cases, this thesis is focused on Slovak and German experience with political party ban. The aim of the thesis Applications of The Theory of Second-Order Elections to Elections in the Czech Republic is to answer the research question, whether is the theory fulfilled in the Czech Republic, through various hypotheses. The introduction introduces the intention of my research. The theoretical part deals with the original Theory of Second-order elections, which was introduced already in 1980 by authors Karlheinz Reif and Hermann Schmitt. During the next electoral cycles, the Theory of Second-order elections was more refined and reflected by other theoreticians, whose contribution is a source of inspiration for my theoretical part. Another major chapter presents the methodology and research design. This chapter defines hypotheses. The Thesis is trying to prove, or disprove the following hypotheses. Electoral participation in the case of Second-order elections is lower than in the case of the First-order elections. The Second-order elections tend to punish ruling parties. The aim of the doctoral thesis is an analysis of the ideas and political activities of Jan Scheinost (1896-1964), a journalist and skilful backstage policymaker who was also known as an ideologist of Czech fascism. The thesis presents and analyses primarily those texts and activities of this controversial personality which were somehow unique, typical or atypical for the Czechoslovak political and intellectual scene of the First and Second Republic, i.e. from the 1920s to the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The influential Catholic journalist Scheinost is often connected not only with conservative traditional Catholicism but also with Fascism in academic literature. However, the thesis tries to prove that throughout his career, Jan Scheinost was always mainly looking for the most suitable movement or political party for putting into practice his aggressive Catholic ideas. The aim of this work is to describe how the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia influenced the personnel policy of the Czechoslovak Radio and thereby interfered into radio broadcasting in the years 1945 - 1948. In the introductory chapters thesis focuses on political and economic developments in Czechoslovakia after 1945, with a significant part describing the parliamentary elections in May, 1946. The national parliaments' role in European integration became an interesting research area thanks to their greater involvement in the EU affairs in the last twenty years. However, because of the many developments of the European integration in the last twenty years (including both deepening and broadening of integration), many questions remain open. These include involvement of national parliaments both on European level and on national level; for obvious reasons, the latter has been studied less regarding the parliaments of the Member States that joined the Union in 2004 and 2007. This thesis analyses impact of exchange rate exposure in Czech Republic on sample of ten Czech companies. Empirical part of thesis builds on Nazl, Kar, Akel (2014) and through market-based approach states significant impact of exchange rate exposure for 40 % of companies. Higher robustness of results was achieved through improvements in the methodology which, contrary to related literature, eliminates endogeneity of market index through instrumental variable. Surprisingly, the correlations between exchange rates and stocks of Czech companies are positive. An alternative model considering ROA of individual companies as dependent variable was used to confirm these results. The resulting impact of exchange rate exposure of alternative model is opposite. This inconsistency of the results of both models is confusing. The sudden change in exchange rate policy of the Czech National Bank in November 2013 did not affect the sensitivity of the relationship between exchange rates and stocks. The reaction of stock market in November 2013 indicates that policy change made by CNB was not entirely expected. Contrary to the related literature, higher data aggregation decreases the significance of the exchange rate exposure, signifying higher ability of Czech companies to reduce exchange rate risk in longer...

The aim of this thesis is to compare the National Footprint Accounts of the Czech Republic in the section of cropland and grazing land for the year 2007 based on globally available data and data available in the Czech Republic, and also to compare these National Footprint Accounts of the Czech Republic based on nationally available data from the years 2007 and 2013. This thesis used the method of calculation of the National Footprint Accounts developed by Global Footprint Network. The ecological footprint of cropland of the Czech Republic is lower according to national data compared to global data while the ecological footprint of grazing land is higher. According to national data, the ecological footprint of both cropland and grazing land of the Czech Republic was lower in 2013 compared to 2007. This work gives an opportunity to compare the calculation of the ecological footprint and biocapacity of cropland and grazing land based on different data sources and to compare the results based on data from 2007 and 2013. The diploma thesis "Comparing Climate Change Adaptation Measures: The Cases of the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland" compares national adaptation strategies on climate change of the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. These strategies represents general politics of selected states on the field of climate change adaptation and the author compares them regarding the adaptation measures they contain. For this comparison, framework based on options and recommendations provided by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the EU is used. Author also analyses mitigation policies of selected states and examines similarities and differences in both approaches. In conclusion author relates his findings towards existing research and using both, he introduces limited theoretical findings about possible relationship between mitigation and adaptation policies of states.

The thesis Political Programmes of the Czech Representation in the Second Halve of the 19th Century focuses on both programme documents and actual work of Czech political parties, whether more or less institutionalized, between the years 1848 (March Revolution) and 1918 (the downfall of Austria-Hungary). At first it summarizes the historical development in the respective period (Chapter 1), next, it analyses programmes of political parties in three broadly defined topics: 1) Organisation of the empire, question of the Czech State Right (Chapter 2); 2) Constitutionalism, civil rights and role of a citizen (Chapter 3) and 3) National matters (Chapter 4). The attitudes about each of these areas of the following political parties are defined: Bohemian nobility, National Party (till 1874) or Old Czechs (since then), Young Czechs, Social Democrats, Agrarians, Catholic parties, National Socialists, Progress parties and parties of the Radical State Right, Realists and Anarchists. The aim of this work is to give an explanation of the long term preservation, to define the differences between various approaches and to describe long term preservation of web content possibilities such as migration or emulation. It also explains risks and challenges of these strategies. It discusses new problems which the long term preservation aim leads to. It also describes possible solutions as well as it describes the situation in selected significant foreign institutions. The main aim of this work is detailed analysis of long term preservation strategy in theNational Library of the Czech Republic, which is the only institution engaged in the preservation of Czech web. The process of data preparation, metadata creation and data storing in the long term repository of the Czech National Library is thoroughly described, including examples and their explanation. This diploma thesis deals with strategies of promoting Czechs as ambassadors of the EU (HoD) since the launch of the European External Action Service to the present. The main research goal of this thesis is to find out whether the Czech Republic promotes its candidates to the HoD positions in the countries of its priority interests. So far, a Czech citizen has become an HoD in six cases. These cases are confronted with a categorization of priority countries of the Czech Republic which has been elaborated by the author. Then, the Czech activities in promoting citizens are analysed based on interviews with relevant employees of the Czech state organs. These actions are consequently put into categorization of lobbying methods of the smaller states in the EU. Based on the categorization of the Czech territorial priorities, it can be claimed that the Czechs have not been sent as HoDs to the countries of the Czech interests so far. Even their other applications have not been meant to place them to the countries of the Czech interests. The thesis examines the development of right-wing populist discourse in the Czech Republic and aims to define the forms and possible changes in populist discourse with a special emphasis on argumentation, then to interpret the changes in a broader social and political context. The research focuses on three organizational incarnations of right-wing populism: Public Affairs, Dawn of Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura and Freedom and Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura. The research method is a discursive-historical approach, which draws on the analysis of topoi. An analysis of the programs of the two movements and the party showed that the right-wing populist discourse has shifted from the original themes that the Public Affairs party has raised. These are included in the other two movements, but each adds something extra. From the initial anti-elite attitudes, social chauvinism and emphasis on direct democracy in the case of Public Affairs to nationalism and the promotion of national pride in the case of the Dawn, to the harsh euroscepticism, Islamophobia and anti-immigration appeals in the case of the SPD. Analysis and evaluation of the existing information architecture depends on its integration into the web sites context. The thesis contains theoretical part with definition of information architecture, its elements and principles of design. It describes evaluation methods of information architecture as a combination of qualitative and quantitative elements of web sites. Information architecture of digital libraries often means architecture of the system. The thesis contains a definition of a digital library and explains focus on access application. Testing of web usability is the best way of testing the information architecture of digital libraries. It enables to test information architecture from user's point of view. The conclusion provide results of the usability tests.

In recent years, there is an apparent renaissance of the Czech cuisine, the "First Republic era" (1918 - 1938, CSR I) especially. Both chefs and journalists writing about cooking and dining are referring to the gastronomy of this time period more and more often and they are praising its quality and taste. However, there is no comprehensive publication about Czech gastronomy in 1918 - 1938 period, sparse references and notes can be found in witnesses commemorative volumes, from history of folklore and from the historical press, respectively. Based on the last especially, the image of "first republic" gastronomy is gradually puzzled out. Using a content analysis method, the four biggest newspapers (Lidové noviny, Národní listy, Český deník and Venkov) and eight women journals (Žena, Ženské listy, Ženské noviny, Ženský list, Rozsévačka, Česká Žena, Ženský svět and a "Československá žena" calendar) being published in examined period are investigated. For further findings of completive and linking facts, the historical analysis method is being used as well. Aim of this work was to answer questions about the first republic journals topics and titles, and in what fashion the first republic press thought about gastronomy.
