Resumen
Bi- and multistatic inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) operate with spatially separated transmitting and receiving antennas. A deception jamming method countering bi- and multistatic ISAR is proposed in this paper based on the study of micro-Doppler effect. The jammer modulates the intercepted ISAR signals with added micro-Doppler information and retransmits them to the real target, which scatters the jamming signals to the radar receivers. Deceptive false-target images with interference bands in the cross-range direction will be induced by the jamming signals through the imaging process of radar receivers. Additionally, real-time movement features of the false-targets can be flexibly adjusted by changing the modulation parameters, which improves the fidelity of the false-targets. The equivalent number of looks (ENL) index is used to evaluate the jamming effects. Simulation results validate our theoretical analysis and show the effectiveness and practicability of our method.

Resumen
Spatially Diverse ISAR Imaging for Classification Performance Enhancement One popular approach to the problem of Non-Cooperative Target Identification is the use of 2D Inverse SAR images. Methods to successfully identify a target include the comparison of a set of scattering centers in the ISAR image to a database or the estimation of target dimensions. While working well in theory, these techniques face major difficulties in practice. In the conventional case of a monostatic radar, visibility of scattering centers varies with the target aspect angle due to fading. In this paper we examine that the visibility of scattering centers can be improved by incoherent addition of images from spatially distributed radars. The main focus lies in the description and results of a multistatic ISAR experiment carried out at Fraunhofer FHR. We display theoretically derived bistatic synchronization errors in a practical system and formulate additional multistatic synchronization requirements, necessary to add up the images.

Resumen
This paper addresses the estimation of the target translational motion by using a multistatic Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) system composed of an active radar sensor and multiple receiving-only devices. Particularly, a two-step decentralized technique is derived: the first step estimates specific signal parameters (i.e., Doppler frequency and Doppler rate) at the single-sensor level, while the second step exploits these estimated parameters to derive the target velocity and acceleration components. Specifically, the second step is organized in two stages: the former is for velocity estimation, while the latter is devoted to velocity estimation refinement if a constant velocity model motion can be regarded as acceptable, or to acceleration estimation if a constant velocity assumption does not apply. A proper decision criterion to select between the two motion models is also provided. A closed-form theoretical performance analysis is provided for the overall technique, which is then used to assess the achievable performance under different distributions of the radar sensors. Additionally, a comparison with a state-of-the-art centralized approach has been carried out considering computational burden and robustness. Finally, results obtained against experimental multisensory data are shown confirming the effectiveness of the proposed technique and supporting its practical application.

Resumen
A novel multistatic integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system based on macro–micro cooperation for the sixth-generation (6G) mobile network is proposed. Instead of using macrosites at both the transmitter and receiver sides, microsites are considered as receivers in cooperative sensing. This system is important since microsites can be deployed more flexibly to reduce their distances to the sensing objects, providing better coverage for sensing service. In this work, we first analyze the deployment problem of microsites, which can be deployed along the radius and azimuth angle to cover macrosite cells. The coverage area of each microsite is derived in terms of its position in the cell. Then, we describe an efficient estimating approach for obtaining the position and velocity of sensing objects in the macrosite cell. By choosing multiple microsites around the targeted sensing area, joint data processing with an efficient optimization method is also provided. Simulation results show that the multistatic ISAC system employing macro–micro cooperation can improve the position and velocity estimation accuracy of objects compared to systems employing macrosite cooperation alone, demonstrating the effectiveness and potential for implementing the proposed system in the 6G mobile network.

Resumen
AbstractInverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is a vital radar imaging technique that leverages the relative motion between the radar and the target to generate high‐resolution images. Traditional ISAR methods; however, are highly sensitive to inaccuracies in estimating rotational parameters, roll, pitch, and yaw, leading to image degradation. This article proposes a novel Differential Semblance Optimization (DSO) criterion for imaging dynamically rotating targets in a multistatic ISAR configuration. Unlike the Intensity Criterion (IC), which requires a precise initial parameter range, DSO enables broader exploration of value ranges, offering greater flexibility. Although the experiments focus on yaw rotation, the method is versatile and extendable to other rotational parameters. Tests with varying transmitter and receiver configurations demonstrate that DSO maintains robust performance even with fewer receivers. Comparisons with IC show that DSO produces sharper, more focused images and performs robustly in noisy environments, underscoring its potential for enhancing ISAR imaging in complex and dynamic scenarios.

Resumen
AbstractA novel multistatic integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system based on cellular network is proposed. It can make use of widespread base stations (BSs) to perform cooperative sensing in wide area. This system is important since the deployment of sensing function can be achieved upon the mobile communication network at low complexity and cost without modifying the architecture of BSs for full duplexing. In this work, the topology of sensing cell is first provided, which can be duplicated to seamlessly cover the cellular network. Each sensing cell consists of a single central BS transmitting signals and multiple neighboring BSs receiving reflected signals from sensing objects. Then an estimating approach is described for obtaining position and velocity of sensing objects that locate in the sensing cell. Joint data processing with an efficient optimization method is also provided. In addition, key issues in the cellular network based multistatic ISAC system are analyzed. Simulation results show that the multistatic ISAC system can reduce interference power by over 10 dBm and significantly improve position and velocity estimation accuracy of objects when compared with the monostatic ISAC system, demonstrating the effectiveness and promise of implementing the proposed system in the mobile network.

Resumen
Abstract The received view in international relations (IR) is that the European multistate system was created when the medieval religious order broke down in the centuries following the Reformation. This view, which sees the medieval Catholic Church as a factor that hindered the advent of the multistate system, ignores a key insight of medieval historians, namely that the deeper historical precondition for the European multistate system was that the Church challenged the notions of empire and hegemony after the eleventh-century conflict of church and state. By mining this body of historiography, this paper shows how the end of the fusion of lay and religious authority in general and the Church's persistent interest in avoiding that one secular polity outmatched the others in particular contributed to the development of the European multistate system. These insights not only question dominant historiographic assumptions of IR, but may also be said to challenge the epistemological approaches of much of this scholarship.
