Resumen
Exposure to leisure noise among the youth has grown into a public health concern. It was reported that attitudes and behaviours are essential factors in determining how well someone takes care of their hearing. An educational hearing conservation programme (EdHCP) can be an effective way to educate and to induce behavioural changes. The objective of this study is to develop and to validate a Malay version of EdHCP known as Bisinglah BEB! (in English: HEY! It’s Loud!) targeting the Malaysian youth. The present study comprised of four phases, namely; i) content and module development, ii) content validation, iii) content modification, and iv) pre-testing. Five learning modules were developed; Module One (Sound energy), Module Two (Anatomy and hearing mechanisms), Module Three (Hearing loss), Module Four (How loud the sound), and Module Five (How to protect our hearing). The module and contents of the programme possessed good content validity result (S-CVI/Ave value at 0.935). Several modifications were done accordingly, and agreement among the participants in pre-testing was excellent (95-100%). Bisinglah BEB! was informative and produced a high content-validity result. However, the effectiveness of the programme in changing attitude, knowledge, and behaviour towards noise exposure needs to be investigated before the real implementation in Malaysian youth.

Resumen
Most of the six species of sea turtles in Indonesian waters have seen a decline, mainly due to human exploitation. One of the efforts to prevent the extinction of this pre-historic reptiles is the establishment of conservation centers. In Bali, one of the conservation centers actively involved in the efforts to conserve turtles is the Turtle Conservation and Education Center (TCEC). As more foreign tourists who are aware of turtle conservation come to this place, guides at TCEC are expected to able to provide sufficient explanation about turtles and their environment in English. They should provide a thorough insight of the turtle's anatomy, behavior, and reproductive cycle. This study aimed at developing English module for turtle conservation guides at TCEC. In developing the module, a framework of material development model was adopted. The framework consists of some stages namely, needs analysis, formulation of goals and objectives, development of English learning materials, and evaluation. The results of this study provide some implication and contributions for English language teaching.

Widmann, Christian, Spencer Gibson, Matthew B. Jarpe, and Gary L. Johnson. Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase: Conservation of a Three-Kinase Module From Yeast to Human. Physiol. Rev. 79: 143–180, 1999. — Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) are serine-threonine protein kinases that are activated by diverse stimuli ranging from cytokines, growth factors, neurotransmitters, hormones, cellular stress, and cell adherence. Mitogen-activated protein kinases are expressed in all eukaryotic cells. The basic assembly of MAPK pathways is a three-component module conserved from yeast to humans. The MAPK module includes three kinases that establish a sequential activation pathway comprising a MAPK kinase kinase (MKKK), MAPK kinase (MKK), and MAPK. Currently, there have been 14 MKKK, 7 MKK, and 12 MAPK identified in mammalian cells. The mammalian MAPK can be subdivided into five families: MAPKerk1/2, MAPKp38, MAPKjnk, MAPKerk3/4, and MAPKerk5. Each MAPK family has distinct biological functions. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, there are five MAPK pathways involved in mating, cell wall remodelling, nutrient deprivation, and responses to stress stimuli such as osmolarity changes. Component members of the yeast pathways have conserved counterparts in mammalian cells. The number of different MKKK in MAPK modules allows for the diversity of inputs capable of activating MAPK pathways. In this review, we define all known MAPK module kinases from yeast to humans, what is known about their regulation, defined MAPK substrates, and the function of MAPK in cell physiology.

Resumen
Gossypium hirsutum L. (Upland cotton) has an evolutionary history involving inter-genomic hybridization, polyploidization, and subsequent domestication. We analyzed the developmental dynamics of the cotton fiber transcriptome accompanying domestication using gene coexpression networks for both joint and homoeologous networks. Remarkably, most genes exhibited expression for at least one homoeolog, confirming previous reports of widespread gene usage in cotton fibers. Most coexpression modules comprising the joint network are preserved in each subgenomic network and are enriched for similar biological processes, showing a general preservation of network modular structure for the two co-resident genomes in the polyploid. Interestingly, only one fifth of homoeologs co-occur in the same module when separated, despite similar modular structures between the joint and homoeologous networks. These results suggest that the genome-wide divergence between homoeologous genes is sufficient to separate their co-expression profiles at the intermodular level, despite conservation of intramodular relationships within each subgenome. Most modules exhibit D-homoeolog expression bias, although specific modules do exhibit A-homoeolog bias. Comparisons between wild and domesticated coexpression networks revealed a much tighter and denser network structure in domesticated fiber, as evidenced by its fewer modules, 13-fold increase in the number of development-related module member genes, and the poor preservation of the wild network topology. These results demonstrate the amazing complexity that underlies the domestication of cotton fiber.

Resumen
ABSTRACT The HAMP linker, a predicted structural element observed in many sensor kinases and methyl-accepting chemotaxis proteins, transmits signals between sensory input modules and output modules. HAMP linkers are located immediately inside the cytoplasmic membrane and are predicted to form two short amphipathic α-helices (AS-1 and AS-2) joined by an unstructured connector. HAMP linkers are found in the Escherichia coli nitrate- and nitrite-responsive sensor kinases NarX and NarQ (which respond to ligand by increasing kinase activity) and the sensor kinase CpxA (which responds to ligand by decreasing kinase activity). We constructed a series of hybrids with fusion points throughout the HAMP linker, in which the sensory modules of NarX or NarQ are fused to the transmitter modules of NarX, NarQ, or CpxA. A hybrid of the NarX sensor module and the CpxA HAMP linker and transmitter module (NarX-CpxA-1) responded to nitrate by decreasing kinase activity, whereas a hybrid in which the HAMP linker of NarX was replaced by that of CpxA (NarX-CpxA-NarX-1) responded to nitrate by increasing kinase activity. However, sequence variations between HAMP linkers do not allow free exchange of HAMP linkers or their components. Certain deletions in the NarX HAMP linker resulted in characteristic abnormal responses to ligand; similar deletions in the NarQ and NarX-CpxA-1 HAMP linkers resulted in responses to ligand generally similar to those seen in NarX. We conclude that the structure and action of the HAMP linker are conserved and that the HAMP linker transmits a signal to the output domain that ligand is bound.

The deployable modular mesh antenna is composed of independently fabricated and tested antenna modules to reduce difficulties in ground testing. Each module comprises a metallic mesh shaped by a cable nework and a deployable truss structure. This paper states the basic constitution of each module, especially of the cable network, and results of surface shape adjustment simulations and experiments. Employing the present method, reflector distortions after the fabrication can be adjusted by changing cable lengths without any sensitivity analysis. Numerical simulations and experiments clarify that the attainable surface accuracy of a module is determined mainly by the accuracy of the truss structure.

Resumen
When improving technological drives of machines and equipment, an important role is given to unified self-adapting subsystems and modules under the conditions of stochastic loads due to environmental resistance. The objective of this work is to study the principles of performance commonality and self-adaptation of a patented process hydraulic drive module with a working body that carries out the feed movement and the primary motion. At that, the design options of the module are considered. The principle of module performance commonality is discovered in the presented methodology for its study and conservation. This considers the law, purpose, internal adaptive relationships and the self-adaptation algorithm, which are confirmed by a physical experiment. The process of self-adaptation is presented by a functional block diagram and adaptive relationship equations. The equalities take into account the features of different versions of the module. The results of comparative experimental studies have confirmed that the presence of internal adaptive communications in the module hydraulic system structure provides the principle of its self-adaptation and functional efficiency. A functionunified module can be used in the technological hydraulic systems of machines and equipment to stabilize power and to adapt the kinematic parameters of these movements under the conditions of non-stationarity of values of the power parameters of the environmental resistance.

Resumen
In the modern world, technology is always evolving to replace more human labour with artificial intelligence. Moreover, farmers are under constant pressure to irrigate their farms at regular intervals without even a rudimentary grasp of the rainfall pattern and soil humidity, since it is extremely difficult to cultivate any agricultural food in regions with irregular rainfall patterns and high mean temperatures. This paper proposes a crop predictor and smart irrigation system using Mamdani’s fuzzy inference and IoT. The system aims to optimize water usage and crop yield by considering various factors such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, rainfall, crop type and season. The system consists of three modules: a crop predictor module that uses fuzzy logic to suggest the best crop for a given location and season, an IOT module that collects and transmits the environmental data from sensors to a cloud server, and a smart irrigation module that uses fuzzy logic to control the water flow to the crops based on the data and the crop predictor module. The system is implemented and tested on a NodeMCU and MATLAB platform and shows promising results in terms of water conservation and crop productivity.

Resumen
Abstract. Large air quality models and large climate models simulate the physical and chemical properties of the ocean, land surface, and/or atmosphere to predict atmospheric composition, energy balance and the future of our planet. All of these models employ some form of operator splitting, also called the method of fractional steps, in their structure, which enables each physical or chemical process to be simulated in a separate operator or module within the overall model. In this structure, each of the modules calculates property changes for a fixed period of time; that is, property values are passed into the module, which calculates how they change for a period of time and then returns the new property values, all in round-robin between the various modules of the model. Some of these modules require the vast majority of the computer resources consumed by the entire model, so increasing their computational efficiency can either improve the model's computational performance, enable more realistic physical or chemical representations in the module, or a combination of these two. Recent efforts have attempted to replace these modules with ones that use machine learning tools to memorize the input–output relationships of the most time-consuming modules. One shortcoming of some of the original modules and their machine-learned replacements is lack of adherence to conservation principles that are essential to model performance. In this work, we derive a mathematical framework for machine-learned replacements that conserves properties – say mass, atoms, or energy – to machine precision. This framework can be used to develop machine-learned operator replacements in environmental models.

Resumen
In forward osmosis (FO), a semi-permeable membrane separates a concentrated draw and a diluted feed solution. FO has emerges as a promising alternative for various applications. To support further development of FO process, a larger scale optimization is required to accurately envisage the most critical factors to be explored. In this study, we applied a mass-transfer model coupled with the mass conservation and area discretization to simulate the performance of plate-and-frame FO modules (10 sheets of 1x1m). Effects of numerous parameters were simulated: modes, flow orientations (co-, counter- and cross-currents), spacers and spacer properties, membrane parameters and operational parameters. Results show that counter-current flow orientation offers the highest flux with minimum spatial distribution. Module performance can be improved by developing FO membrane through reducing membrane structural (S) parameter and increasing water permeability (A): increasing A-value only significant at low S-value, and vice versa (i.e., for A-value of 1 LMH/atm, S-value must be below 50 µm). Furthermore, inclusion of spacer in the flow channel slightly increases the flux (merely up to 2%). Module performance can also be enhanced by increasing feed flow rate, lowering solute in the feed and increasing solute in the draw solution.

To support further development of FO process, a larger scale study via membrane module development is required to accurately envisage the most critical factors to be exploited to realize the promises. In this study, we applied a mass-transfer model coupled with the mass conservation and area discretization to simulate the performance of modified spiral-wound (MSW) modules (10 sheets of 1x1m). The study focuses on the spatial flux profile in a full-scale module as function of operational mode: co- vs counter cross current and membrane orientations (active-layer facing feed (ALFS); solution and active layer facing draw solution, (ALDS)). Results show that all modes offer almost similar average flux of about 9-10 L/m2h, but the co-current flows have much higher flux ranges (≈43%). The latter is expected to worsen membrane fouling resistant due to mal distribution in hydraulic loading. An operation with counter current and ALFS and counter current flow is then recommended because it offer similar flux but lower spatial flux ranges (7%).

Resumen
Currently, at least 10% of plant species and even more animals are threatened with extinction on the planet Earth. The rate of extinction of species is 50-100 times higher than the natural rate. This trend has continued over the past 20-25 years. There are 439 endangered species in the Kursk region. Of these, 160 species of fauna, 265 species of plants and 14 species of fungi. The problem of conservation of rare and endangered plant species can be solved by their timely detection, subsequent monitoring and protection in specific habitats. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to develop tools for creating the most complete databases of rare and endangered plant species in urban ecosystems based on crowdsourcing methods and modern information technologies. At the initial stage of the implementation of projects for the conservation of biodiversity, the main difficulty lies in the mass identification of the presence of plant and animal species that are subject to protection on the territory of the city. It is possible to solve this problem using crowdsourcing methods. The team of the Southwestern State University has developed an Environmental crowdsourcing portal of the Kursk Region. This portal is designed on a modular basis, it includes various modules, including a module designed to solve the problem of biodiversity conservation. The module is developed using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP and functions in user and administrator modes. Additionally, the functional blocks of thematic databases are designed using MySQL. Based on the database tables and the Yandex Maps API documentation, blocks for loading and displaying information on an interactive map have been developed. The module ensures the involvement of a wide range of urban population to identify the presence of plant and animal species that are subject to protection on the territory of the city. The module of the Environmental Crowdsourcing Portal of the Kursk Region considered in the article provides not only a solution to the problem of filling the database of rare and endangered species of plants and animals, but, like all crowdsourcing environmental projects, contributes to improving the level of environmental education of citizens, forming their consciousness and active life position.

AbstractThis paper describes our experience of teaching environmental ethics as part of a Philosophy of Conservation field trip to Rum, off the West coast of Scotland. The field trip was formalised into an M. A. Module in 1999. After outlining the educational aims of the module, and how these are implemented in this setting, we indicate some of the key issues in ethics and aesthetics that emerge as we explore two specific conservation sites. We close with a reflection on the value of experiential education in this area, and the importance of combining experiential, emotional and intellectual engagement in any exploration of normative issues.

Resumen
In response to the unbalanced DC-port fault of three-level neutral point clamped cascaded converter (3LNPC-CC), a sequence pulse modulation (SPM) voltage-balancing strategy is proposed in this paper to balance DC-link voltage, not only within the module but also among modules. With the steps of carrier cascaded calculation and sequence pulse generator, the voltage level of cascaded modules would take a smooth transition. Then the limitation of the SPM strategy is calculated according to the law of volt-second balance and the law of energy conservation. The proposed strategy has the advantage of simple calculation and control stability. Simulation and experimental results show the superiority of the proposed strategy.

Resumen
Abstract: The demand for water supply has increased unpredictably worldwide over the past few decades, posing a major challenge. To overcome this challenge, an IoT-based water monitoring and control approach is presented, which supports realtime internet-based data collection. The device comprises a computer system (central hub), an IoT module, a switching unit, and a Zigbee module. The Internet of Things is a network of devices embedded with electronics, software, and sensors that enable them to exchange and analyze data. The centralized hub distributes water individually based on the needs of each household, assisted by IoT integration of communications, control, and information processing across the systems used. This allows water quantity and quality to be sensed at each structure in a particular sector, providing remote access control of the water supply. The centralized hub monitors and shares water among localized tanks or resupplies water from its reservoir according to a rank’s deficit or excess water level. Personal area networks are created in this scenario where a wireless connection is required across the system. UV treatment is deployed to improve the quality of water distributed to every household, and fluoride content level along with hardness checking is done using respective test meters. Overall, the IoT-based water monitoring and control approach design presents an innovative solution to the increasing demand for water supply, enabling efficient distribution and ensuring water quality.

<span>The electricity generation cost is escalating every year while the electric energy is indispensable and increasing in demand. The resources for energy generation is also depleting due to the increasing demand of power. Thus, a system that can reduce the energy wastage and the massive expenses is essential. Street light system is one of the systems that can reduce energy consumption. The massive energy consumption from the current street light system is not efficient enough to reduce the wasted energy. By implementing an IOT-based smart street light system, the power consumption of the street light will be optimized. This system will also provide the ability to monitor input voltage for Arduino MEGA 2560 microcontroller and control the street light through IOT. The concept of this smart system is to introduce an intelligent system which can decide to switch on or off the street light according to the movement detection by using an infrared sensor module. The data will be sent to Arduino Mega 2560, which is a microcontroller that will decide to turn on or off the street light. The Wi-Fi module ESP-01 is implemented to enable the microcontroller to connect to Blynk software for monitoring and controlling purpose. The result shows that the smart street light system is expected to reduce energy consumption up to 45.48% on weekdays and 32.22% on weekends from the present street light system which uses timer system. The IOT-based Smart Street Light system also shows the condition of the street light system based on the Blynk interfaces for maintenance purpose.</span>

Resumen
A recurrent concern in nature conservation is the potential competition for forage plants between wild bees and managed honey bees. Specifically, that the highly sophisticated system of recruitment and large perennial colonies of honey bees quickly exhaust forage resources leading to the local extirpation of wild bees. However, different species of bees show different preferences for forage plants. We here summarize known forage plants for honey bees and wild bee species at national scale in Denmark. Our focus is on floral resources shared by honey bees and wild bees, with an emphasis on both threatened wild bee species and foraging specialist species. Across all 292 known bee species from Denmark, a total of 410 plant genera were recorded as forage plants. These included 294 plant genera visited by honey bees and 292 plant genera visited by different species of wild bees. Honey bees and wild bees share 176 plant genera in Denmark. Comparing the pairwise niche overlap for individual bee species, no significant relationship was found between their overlap and forage specialization or conservation status. Network analysis of the bee-plant interactions placed honey bees aside from most other bee species, specifically the module containing the honey bee had fewer links to any other modules, while the remaining modules were more highly inter-connected. Despite the lack of predictive relationship from the pairwise niche overlap, data for individual species could be summarized. Consequently, we have identified a set of operational parameters that, based on a high foraging overlap (>70%) and unfavorable conservation status (Vulnerable+Endangered+Critically Endangered), can guide both conservation actions and land management decisions in proximity to known or suspected populations of these species.

Resumen
Organized by unstructured motifs The high degree of conservation in protein sequences thought to be unstructured has hinted that these regions may have important biological functions. Although unstructured regions are widely viewed to be crucial for protein signaling, localization, and stability, their roles in many other settings have remained mysterious. Cermakova et al . discovered that prominent members of the transcription elongation machinery are linked through a network of interactions involving transcription elongation factor TFIIS N-terminal domains (TNDs) and conserved unstructured sequences called “TND-interacting motifs” (TIMs). The researchers found that mutation of a single TIM in a central organizing protein of this network abolished key protein interactions and induced widespread defects in transcription elongation dynamics. —DJ

Resumen
Global biodiversity declines at unprecedented rates, mainly due to human-induced environmental change. Biodiversity conservation is, thus, highly dependent on responsible and sustainable citizenship. Educational efforts are regarded as an important means to foster awareness and pro-environmental behavior. The present study monitors two factors considered to be particularly relevant for promoting sustainable behavior: cognitive knowledge and environmental values. 205 students (Mage = 15.3) participated in a biodiversity education module including a citizen science (CS) activity on DNA barcoding. With a pre-post-retention design, we measured cognitive achievement and environmental values, which are expressed by environmental utilization (UTL) and preservation (PRE) as well as the appreciation for nature (APR). Overall, we found positive relations between knowledge and PRE as well as APR, whereas UTL was negatively related to knowledge. In the whole module and the sub-modules, cognitive achievement followed the usual pattern, with a substantial short-term knowledge increase from pre-test (T0) to post-test (T1) following a moderate decrease in the retention test (T2). Unexpectedly, a considerable sub-sample (n = 103) deviated from the assumed knowledge drop at T2 and showed an additional knowledge gain in a sub-module directly focusing on the CS activity. Students in this sub-sample revealed significantly higher PRE and APR scores compared to the rest of the students. We discuss these findings in relation to the implications for educational CS.

Resumen
This paper is to investigate the capability of six numerical schemes to simulate reflected wave over a dry and closed domain with and without building, namely: (a) two proposed 2D numerical models solving the conservation form of 2D Shallow Water Equations (2D-SWEs) by Finite Volume Method (FVM) with Roe and HLLC schemes are invoked to approximate Reimann solver; (b) three options of shallow models in the commercial software Flow 3D based on a non-conservation form of 2D-SWEs and (c) the Flow 3D with turbulence modules. By analyzing flooding maps, the area of the reflected wave, and water level profiles on a dry and closed domain, two proposed models give reasonable solutions, while three options of the shallow module of Flow 3D originate result less accurately when initial wave celerity (c0) is small. The accuracy level will be increased if c0 value increases. The 3D model presented the best performance of the complex flow pattern in the dry and enclosed domain in both cases without and with building.

Resumen
Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the leading cause of age-related dementia, yet no treatment exists. AD is heterogeneous, and is resultant of the dysregulation of many genetic and biological processes. To decipher this complexity, we leveraged the first translational mouse population of AD to identify 15 gene networks related to individual differences in cognitive outcomes. Using QTL mapping, we also identified a novel putative driver of a module, Gstk1, highly conserved in humans that also significantly correlated with memory outcomes. Together, these transcriptional networks provide new mechanistic insight into the biological processes that regulate individual differences in cognitive function across a genetically diverse population. We could identify how demographics (age, sex, causal AD mutations) influence these modules and how they relate to cognitive outcomes. Finally, the high degree of conservation between our mouse modules to human modules reflects the translatability of our model to human AD, adding to its face validity.

Resumen
Argonautes (AGOs) interact with microRNAs (miRNAs) to form the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which can posttranscriptionally regulate the expression of targeted genes. To date, however, the AGOs and their miRNA triggers remain elusive in rapeseed (Brassica napus). Here, we systematically performed a phylogenetic analysis and examined the collinear relationships of the AGOs among four Brassicaceae species. Their physicochemical properties, gene structures, and expression patterns among 81 tissues from multiple materials and developmental stages were further analyzed. Additionally, their posttranscriptional regulation was analyzed using psRNATarget prediction, miRNA-/mRNA-Seq analyses, and a qRT-PCR verification. We finally identified 10 AtAGOs, 13 BolAGOs, 11 BraAGOs, and 24 BnaAGOs. An expression analysis of the BnaAGOs in the B. napus cultivar ZS11, as well as genotypes with extreme phenotypes in various yield-related traits, revealed the conservation and diversity of these genes. Furthermore, we speculated the posttranscriptional regulation of the B. napus miR168a–AGO1s and miR403–AGO2s modules. Combining miRNA-Seq and mRNA-Seq analyses, we found that the B. napus miR168a–AGO1s module may play an essential role in negatively regulating yield traits, whereas the miR403–AGO2s module positively impacts yield. This is the first attempt to comprehensively analyze the AGOs and their miRNA triggers in B. napus and provides a theoretical basis for breeding high-yielding varieties through the manipulation of the miRNA–AGOs modules.

Resumen
Dynamic mesh adaptation on unstructured grids, by localised refinement and derefinement, is a very efficient tool for enhancing solution accuracy and optimising computational time. One of the major drawbacks, however, resides in the projection of the new nodes created, during the refinement process, onto the boundary surfaces. This can be addressed by the introduction of a library capable of handling geometric properties given by a CAD (computer-aided design) description. This is of particular interest also to enhance the adaptation module when the mesh is being smoothed, and hence moved, to then reproject it onto the surface of the exact geometry.

Resumen
Efficient biodiversity conservation requires that limited resources be allocated in accordance with national responsibilities and priorities. Without appropriate computational tools, the process of determining these national responsibilities and conservation priorities is time intensive when considering many species across geographic scales. Here, we have developed a computational tool as a module for the ArcGIS geographic information system. The ArcGIS National Responsibility Assessment Tool (NRA-Tool) can be used to create hierarchical lists of national responsibilities and priorities for global species conservation. Our tool will allow conservationists to prioritize conservation efforts and to focus limited resources on relevant species and regions. We showcase our tool with data on 258 bird species and various biophysical regions, including Environmental Zones in 58 Asian countries and regions. Our tool provides a decision support system for conservation policy with attractive and easily interpretable visual outputs illustrating national responsibilities and priorities for species conservation. The graphical output allows for smooth integration into assessment reports, such as the European Article 17 report, the Living Planet Index report, or similar regional and global reports.

Resumen
The pressing need for energy and water conservation has spurred the development of consumption monitoring and regulating systems. In response to this concern, we propose the implementation of a real-time monitoring system that tracks energy and water consumption, as well as detects pH values, utilizing an ESP32 microcontroller. This system comprises an ESP32 microcontroller, a pH sensor, a voltage sensor, a water flow sensor, and a Wi-Fi module. The ESP32 microcontroller gathers data from the sensors and processes it before transmitting the information to a database through the Wi-Fi module. Users can remotely access this data through a web application, enabling them to identify instances of wasteful consumption and make informed decisions regarding energy and water conservation. Additionally, the system provides users with valuable insights into the quality of the water they are consuming. By offering accurate data on overall energy consumption, as well as individual energy usage patterns and water consumption, this system possesses the potential to make a significant contribution to the conservation of energy and water resources. Users will be empowered to analyze their consumption patterns and take proactive steps to reduce waste and promote sustainable practices. The real-time monitoring system serves as a crucial tool for raising awareness about energy and water conservation. It encourages individuals and organizations to adopt more responsible consumption habits by providing them with tangible data and insights into their consumption patterns. Moreover, the remote accessibility of the system ensures that users can monitor their consumption from any location, further facilitating informed decision-making.

Resumen
As a systematic, preventive, and structural adjustment method of improving building energy conservation and carbon emission reduction, urban planning has received extensive attention. However, due to the insufficient interface between energy-saving technology and urban planning systems, urban planning has not properly played a role in building energy conservation. Scientific and innovative technical methods are urgently needed to explore the role of coordinating multiple effective planning elements in overall building energy conservation through urban planning means. Due to climate conditions, there is high demand for conserving building energy in severe cold regions, but research into this has not been thoroughly carried out. Harbin, located in the northeast of China, belongs to the Dwa zone of the Köppen–Geiger Climate Classification, and is also a typical city of severe cold regions where the daily average temperature is lower than 5 °C for more than 145 days in a year. This study takes Harbin as an example and uses agent-based modeling to establish an urban-scale building energy consumption simulation model. The model contains four types of agents (a global agent, building agent, residential agent, and household equipment agent) and two types of influence factor modules (an urban form module and a climate module). Three simulation scenarios were designed, including a baseline scenario, an urban form scenario, and a climate scenario. The baseline scenario provided an overview of the urban-scale building energy consumption distribution characteristics of Harbin and served as a reference group for the simulation results of other scenarios. The urban form scenario results show that when the elements with a highly significant impact change by 1 unit, the retail building block has the most obvious change in energy consumption, up to 44.7 × 106 kWh/105 m2/year, while the office building block has the lowest change, with 34.5 × 103 kWh/105 m2/year. The fluctuation of electricity is the most obvious, but the total change is lower than the heating energy consumption. The climate scenario shows that the energy consumption of residential land in urban centers will consistently rise in the next 50 years, up to 5.3 × 105 kWh/105 m2/year. Based on these results, this study puts forward future building energy conservation planning strategies for Harbin, focusing on three aspects: the planning and control of urban form, the optimization and adjustment of the climate, and the building energy conservation planning system. These research results are expected to provide scientific support for transforming Harbin into a low-carbon city.
