Resumen

Le sexe fut un problème biologique déroutant tout au long du xix e siècle, lorsqu’on commença à comprendre que reproduction et sexualité étaient à distinguer. Les travaux zoologiques d’Émile Maupas (1842-1916) constituent un jalon dans cette histoire, car ils sont venus éclaircir les étapes nucléaires du phénomène de conjugaison chez les ciliés, longtemps entaché de nombreuses zones d’ombre. Grâce à la mise au point de techniques manipulatoires nouvelles, ainsi qu’à des qualités d’observateur remarquables, Maupas parvint à en donner une description toujours considérée comme vraie actuellement. Ses réflexions sur la fonction de l’acte sexuel (la conjugaison étant totalement découplée de la reproduction chez les ciliés), en revanche, montrent les limites du projet d’une « biologie générale », auquel Maupas entendait participer. Dans une telle conception, qui visait à relier très étroitement biologie, chimie et physique, il était en fait impossible de penser le sexe comme une adaptation.

The article deals with the report of 5 suctorians viz. Lecanophryella satyanandani (Santhakumari, 1986), Paracineta karunakarani Santhakumari, 1986, Ephelota gemmipara (Hertwig, 1876), Acineta foetida Maupas, 1881 and Pelagacineta sp. on marine pelagic ostracods Cypridina dentata (Müller, 1906) from new localities of the Arabian Sea. Diagnostic characters of Paracineta karunakarani are emended. Ephelota gemmipara (Hertwig, 1876) and Acineta foetida Maupas, 1881 are reported here for the first time on planktonic marine ostracods. Pelagacineta sp. is reported for the first time as epibiont on ostracods and from the Indian Ocean.

Maupas, ancien sous-prefet de louis-philippe, se lie avec louisnapoleon, nouvellement elu a la presidence de la republique, dont il devient un chaud partisan. Reintegre dans l'administration, il devient le conseiller occulte du prince, et lui offre ses services dans la perspective d'un coup d'etat. A la demission de carlier, maupas est employe a sa demande comme prefet de police. Il se heurte rapidement a la mauvaise volonte de ses agents, demeures fideles a son predecesseur. Durant les evenements de decembre, il se heurle a morny, qui est l'ami de carlier, ainsi qu'aux militaires, dont il conteste la strategie provocatrice. Maupas est recompense de son role par le poste de ministre de la police generale. Sous la troisieme republique, sa tentative de retour sur la scene politique est oberee par son passe : le souvenir du coup d'etat fait echouer son election a la deputation

When carlier resigns, maupas is employed on his request as prefect of police. He quickly clashes with the unwillingness of his agents, who remain faithful to his predecessor. During the events of december, he clashes with morny, who is carlier's friend, as well as with the servicemen, whose provocative strategy he contests. Maupas is rewarded for his role by the post as minister of general police. Under the third republic, his return attempt to politics is burdened with his background : the memory of the coup causes his election as deputy to fail

Resumen

Préfet entré en politique au mitan du XIXe siècle, Charlemagne-Émile de Maupas a commencé à être redécouvert par les dix-neuviémistes il y a une trentaine d’années, dans un contexte de relecture historiographique du Second Empire. Claude Vigoureux, dans une étude pionnière, a notamment mis en lumière son rôle, en tant que préfet de police de la Seine, dans l’élaboration et l’exécution du coup d’État du 2 décembre 1851. Son parcours riche et varié, souvent réduit à cet évènement, mérite pourtant d’être appréhendé dans sa globalité, d’autant que de sa première expérience de sous-préfet à Uzès à la prestigieuse préfecture des Bouches-du-Rhône, en passant par le ministère de la Police générale, la légation de France à Naples ou le Sénat impérial, Maupas a laissé de très nombreux papiers privés qui constituent un précieux fonds pour l’historien. Notre thèse, qui s’inscrit dans la perspective d’une biographie totale, a donc pour objet d’analyser sa trajectoire administrative, politique et notabiliaire, depuis les monarchies censitaires jusqu’à la Troisième République naissante. Nous entendons en outre montrer comment ce notable à la fois singulier et idéal-typique, profondément conservateur et attaché au régime monarchique, a mobilisé ses réseaux et ses capitaux multiples pour construire sa carrière
Charlemagne-Émile de Maupas, a prefect who entered politics in the mid-nineteenth century, began to be rediscovered by historians some thirty years ago in the context of a historiographical rereading of the Second Empire. Claude Vigoureux in particular published a pioneering study shedding light on his role as Prefect of Police of the Seine and in the elaboration and execution of the coup d'état of December 2, 1851. His rich and varied career, often reduced to this event, nevertheless deserves to be understood in its entirety, especially as Maupas left numerous private papers, from his first experience as a sub-prefect in Uzès to the prestigious prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône, via the Ministry of the General Police, the French legation in Naples and the Imperial Senate, which constitute a precious collection for the historian. Our thesis, which is written with the perspective of a total biography, therefore aims to analyze his administrative, political and notabiliary trajectory from the census monarchies to the nascent Third Republic. We also intend to show how this deeply conservative, singular and yet ideal-typical notable who was committed to the monarchical regime mobilized his networks and his capital to build his career

Resumen

Ce travail utilise les caracteres morphologiques des zircons et les proprietes de geochronometre du systeme u/pb sur mineraux accessoires, pour apporter des elements essentiels a la comprehension et a l'interpretation geodynamique du massif des maures. On a ainsi etudie des roches diverses, choisies en fonction de l'information geodynamique qu'elles peuvent vehiculer. Les resultats obtenus nous ont permis de montrer, dans la partie occidentale du massif des maures, l'existence de materiel crustal d'age ancien. Dans le cas de l'orthogneiss de bormes, mis en place de facon syn-cinematique a 3453ma, un heritage precambrien (1. 2 2. 0ga) a ete mis en evidence. Ce resultat, refute l'idee de socle cadomien pour cette unite. Par contre, dans la partie orientale du massif des maures un age a 617 630ma a ete trouve pour le leucosome et les migmatites. Les autres evenements geologiques identifies dans le massif des maures correspondent a la mise en place des differents granitoides syn a post-cinematiques (granite syn a tardi-cinematique de l'hermitan (3386ma) ; tonalite tardi-cinematique de la carriere du reverdit (3344ma) et le granite post-cinematique du plan de la tour (3245ma). Ces resultats contribuent a l'elaboration d'un modele d'evolution du massif des maures : activite magmatique cambro-ordovicien (5075ma), liee a une phase de distension d'un socle cadomien (617 630 ma), subduction a 4314ma, activite granitique syn a post-cinematique jusqu'a 3245ma.

Abstract Less than three weeks after the coup d’etat, Louis-Napoleon asked the French electorate—once again enlarged to include all adult men—to allow him to draw up a new constitution, and a very large majority of 7.5 million voted in his favor. For the Bonapartists, the plebiscite was, as Prefect of Police Charlemagne-Emile de Maupas put it, “a veritable national festival.” The 7.5 million votes seemed to prove conclusively the reality of Louis-Napoleon’s popularity—the same popularity they so frequently had seen manifested in the celebrations of the Republic. For Bonapartists, the divided nation of the Republic seemed to have found in Louis-Napoleon a means of coming together as a unified community.

Abstract Cannibalism is taxonomically widespread among lower eukaryotes (Sandon 1932), although most reports have been anecdotal. The first report of cannibalism in lower eukaryotes was in the ciliateOxytricha(Haime 1853). It was subsequently reported in several other species of ciliates, includingOnychodromus grandis(Maupas 1888),Pleurotricha laceolata(Joukowsky 1898),Stentor coeruleus(Gelei 1925),Blepharisma undulans(Dawson 1929), andStylonychia curvata(Giese and Alden 1938). Although generally widespread among the ciliates, it is notable that cannibalism has not been reported for the most commonly studied smaller ciliatesTetrahymenaandParamecium,which generally feed upon bacteria. However, two species,Tetrahymena vorax(Buhse 1966; Buhseet al.1978) andT. patula(Williams 1960) can undergo a transformation from a form which feeds upon bacteria to a carnivorous form which feeds on other cilates. The transition to the large form capable of feeding upon larger prey involves the resorption of the oral apparatus and the formation of a larger one by a process known as oral replacement. Cannibalism does occur in the form with the larger oral apparatus (N. E. Williams, personal communication).

Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Linearen Systemidentifikation für ein hygrothermisches Zustandsraummodell des Hrabanus-Maurus-Saals innerhalb der Bibliothek des Bischöflichen Priesterseminars in Fulda. Hier lagern wertvolle historische Dokumente, die besondere Anforderungen an das Raumklima stellen. Für die Einhaltung dieser Anforderungen eignet sich ein Modellprädiktiver Regler (MPC), der in Zukunft im Hrabanus-Maurus-Saal eingesetzt werden wird. Das hier entwickelte lineare Zustandsraummodell kann zukünftig in diesem MPC genutzt werden. Die Modellierung des hygrothermischen Verhaltens erfolgt über eine Beschreibung der physikalischen Zusammenhänge von Temperatur und relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit in Form von Zustandsraummodellen. Die darin enthaltenen Parameter können mit Hilfe der vorhandenen Temperatur- und Luftfeuchtigkeitsmessungen der vergangenen Jahre im Hrabanus-Maurus-Saal geschätzt werden. Hierbei werden eine Vielzahl an Initialparametern in Form einer Monte-Carlo-Simulation getestet, um die optimalen Systemparameter zu identifizieren. Im Anschluss werden beide Zustandsraummodelle zusammengefügt und mit einem rein datengetriebenen Ansatz („Black-Box“-Ansatz) verglichen. Die Ergebnisse des hier vor-gestellten Ansatzes („Grey-Box“-Ansatz) weisen vor Allem in Bezug auf die Dynamik ein besseres Modellverhalten auf.

Ikhtisar dari volume ini disusun untuk mengeksplorasi secara ringkas poin-poin utama yang dipaparkan di dalam studi kasus yakni bagaimana aksi kolektif perempuan telah membawa perubahan baik bagi kesejahteraan diri perempuan, maupun dampaknya bagi pelaksanaan Undang-Undang Desa di Indonesia, serta bagaimana perubahan-perubahan tersebut terwujud dengan dukungan berbagai organisasi masyarakat sipil dalam lintas konteks dan sektor. Pertama, kami mengidentifikasi perbedaan dan keberagaman prioritas dan inisiatif pembangunan desa sebagai hasil pengaruh keterlibatan perempuan dalam pelaksanaan UndangUndang Desa. Inisiatif pembangunan tersebut tidak hanya terkait isu infrastruktur dan ekonomi (walaupun perempuan juga telah mengupayakan beberapa inisiatif di isu ini), namun juga meliputi berbagai permasalahan pembangunan desa dan tantangan sektoral lain yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat desa, khususnya perempuan. Kedua, kami menjabarkan berbagai bentuk perubahan yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan sehari-hari perempuan, dan juga pengaruhnya pada struktur kuasa, pembuatan keputusan dan prioritas pembangunan, baik di tingkat desa, masyarakat, institusi, maupun konteks yang lebih luas. Ketiga, kami membahas proses yang mendasari perubahan, dan faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi terhadapnya, sebagaimana yang digambarkan melalui studi kasus yang ada. Resumen

This study used high spatial resolution satellite imagery to identify and map Bottomland Hardwood (BLH) BLH and swamp within the Maurepas Diversion Project area and use Light Detection and Ranging (Lidar) elevation data, vegetation indices, and established stand-level thresholds to evaluate the condition of forested habitat. The Forest Condition methods and data developed as part of this study provide a remote sensing-based supplement to the field-based methods used in previous studies. Furthermore, several advantages are realized over traditional methods including higher resolution products, repeatability, improved coverage, and reduced effort and cost. This study advances previous methods and provides products useful for informing ecosystem decision making related to environmental assessments.
