However, as a teenager in his time, he should still be controlled and need supervision. This study focuses on how the influence/effect of mass communication on audiences who use social media on teenagers in the 5.0 era of society. Adolescence is the start of the change between childhood and adulthood, which is still influenced by the mass media in this 5.0 era of society. Researchers used library research methods using various library sources or previously written works. From the results of this study, the greatest effect of social media on adolescents is a change in attitudes and behavior in the social and cultural sphere. Therefore, the social effects of mass communication on teenagers are like 2 sides of a coin that have good and bad effects, so due to the mass media today, everything that teenagers do sometimes cannot be controlled and still cannot be considered good or bad for themselves.

Resumen
Sex education holds significant importance for teenagers from an early age due to their vulnerability to misinformation about sex. This dissertation aims to (1) explore teenagers' perceptions of sex education and (2) identify the sources they rely on for obtaining information about sex. Furthermore, sex education plays a crucial role in enlightening teenagers about various harmful sexual behaviors, enabling them to steer clear of such practices. The research employs a literature review methodology to unearth diverse information on adolescent sex education. Firstly, understanding adolescents' perception of sex education is deemed essential and advantageous in addressing their developmental challenges during this transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. Adolescence entails significant biological, cognitive, and socio-emotional changes, making sex education a pertinent tool to assist them. Secondly, teenagers predominantly turn to mass media, encompassing print media like newspapers, magazines, and books, as well as electronic media such as television and gadgets, for their sexual education. The mass media, along with peers, serves as the primary source of sexual information and knowledge for teenagers, as opposed to receiving such education from family or school environments.

Resumen
In the contemporary era characterized by technological advancements, teenagers are displaying a growing inclination towards acquiring access to health-related information, which is crucial for teenagers to make informed decisions on their overall health and well-being. The findings indicate that the Internet is the primary source of health information, followed by kin and acquaintances, mass media, and medical practitioners among teenagers in Sri Lanka. Gender is a significant factor, as males prefer utilizing mass media and the internet, whilst females tend to rely more on medical practitioners, kinship networks, and friends. Education has a significant impact on teenagers’ health information-seeking behaviour; low-education teenagers depend more on kin and acquaintances, while higher-education teenagers are more inclined to utilize the Internet. Moreover, highly physically active teenagers rely on kin and acquaintances, while less active tend to rely on the Internet. The findings of the multinomial regression analysis emphasize that teenagers mostly rely on the Internet and medical experts in Sri Lanka. Education, perceived severity of health conditions, and health efficacy have an impact on these behaviours. This study adds to the body of knowledge regarding the information-seeking behaviours of teenagers, offering significant insights that can inform the progress of customized health promotion strategies and culturally appropriate digital health communication.

Resumen
The relationship between the mass media and children is historically fraught, characterised by a concern for the potential effects on the leaders of the future. This thesis addresses the role of the media (particularly magazines) with regard to ideas of sexualisation, examining fashion clothing and identity in relation to tween girls aged between eight and 12-years-old. The impact of mass media is undeniable, and vital to a discussion of modern sexualisation of girls, as Huston, Wartella and Donnerstein maintain there are “strong theoretical reasons to believe that media play an especially important role in the socialisation of sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviour” (1998: 12). Surveys were conducted with a total of 168 tween boys and girls, and focus groups with 28 girls in this age bracket in New Zealand, to explore the roles of fashion, media and sexualisation in the lives of young people growing up at a time of unprecedented consumerism and media exposure. The results found that parents still have great influence in the clothing choices of their tween, though they are shown to move progressively towards independence and autonomy as they approach adolescence. When looking at advertising images and fashion in magazines, these girls showed clear signs of age aspiration and an intense dislike for anything remotely ‘kiddy’. Whilst the examination of sexualisation had to be conducted on an implicit level, many girls commented explicitly about the degree of sexuality in some images, their dislike for such characterisations waning over time. As the goal of the mass media and advertising is to turn people into consumers, even commodities themselves, this research contributes to a growing discourse around the need for children to be protected and taught to engage critically with media texts to prevent sexualisation, commodification and exploitation from drowning out the tweens’ unique voice.

Resumen
In this thesis, I explore and critique the content of the fashion teen magazine CosmoGirl. Through a bricolage of methods, I examine the magazine's representation of teen femininity and compare it to the editor's "pro-feminist" initial goal and intended social role for the publication.
Drawing upon previous studies, and linking my findings to established theories, I analyze the possible relationship between the publication's content and the influence this media genre has on the social development of young women.
My research findings show that CosmoGirl's portrayal of femininity is stereotypical, patriarchal and unrealistic and that such representation perpetuates negative and destructive feelings in young women.
In my discussion, I explore possible reasons for the lack of representation of the editor's goal for the magazine within the magazine's overall discourse. I also discuss the importance of media literacy in education as a means to alter today's media, so its representation of women becomes truthful.

Resumen
[Truncated abstract] The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze how Indonesian female teen magazines represent Indonesian adolescents. Female teen magazines are an important source of information on how gender is constructed in Indonesia. The thesis will contribute modestly not only to knowledge in the immediate fields of gender relations and adolescence in Indonesia but also to the wider body of literature on the relationships among gender, capitalism and patriarchy and the role of print media in shaping these relationships. Consequently, I place my discussion of how adolescents are presented in Indonesian female teen magazines within a larger context of global-local interaction at the national level. This research places Indonesian female teen magazines within the wider genre of women’s magazines. Most of the research on female magazines is focused on women rather than female adolescents, but because gender relations in society cut across the generations, this research is relevant to the study of magazines for female adolescents. Theories about women’s magazines provide insight into women’s magazines as a forum of expression that reflects gender and power relations in society. Teen magazines exist due to the rising significance of Indonesian adolescents. Indonesian adolescents emerged as a significant social group because of the course of national history and the state’s national development. Adolescence in this thesis is not treated as a biological stage of human physical development, but as the result of changes in the perception and treatment of young people by the society in which they appear. In the analysis I use Merry White’s argument with regards to marketing strategies to adolescents. I claim that Indonesian female teen magazines often have a conflicting double agenda in representing adolescents.¹Teen magazines have to make money for publishers and advertisers in order to achieve their own financial security and, at the same time, these magazines have to acknowledge local values in order to be accepted by the society. For marketing purpose, adolescents in teen magazines are represented as a modern social group. Modernity in the magazines is associated with a globalized western popular culture. My particular interest is to explore to what extent and in what ways western influences (as the standard of modernity) are employed to construct representations of female adolescents. I argue that the ways the magazines construct their own ideals of the “west” are related to the ways they construct images of Indonesian female adolescents. The magazines portray local adolescents emulating western performance and appearance

Resumen
The phenomenology of observing the behavior of others can provide learning contexts similar to direct experimentation. In other words, we are put in the framework of learning to behave and become, in various situations of life, by being careful and observing various behaviors of others. The method of modelling or appealing to the behavior of a model is based on the use of analogy, that is to understand, reproduce or reproduce in a simplified, schematically approximated form of manifestations or phenomena that are more difficult or impossible to detect or to observe through direct observation. The ability of educators to use symbols, understood as an intrinsic quality and as a specific resource, gives them the opportunity to represent their events, analyse their experiences, communicate with each other, anticipate their future through the act of to plan, to innovate, or to be creative in the educational environment. As a result, for a model to be imitated, its behaviors, actions, operations must be perceived and memorized in a symbolic form and the necessary skills are available. However, fulfilling these conditions does not necessarily mean that these behaviors will develop, because the performance of a person is conditioned by strengthening mechanisms, many of which are also indirect action. Our paper is based on a research conducted through teenager students regarding the role of mass-media in building their personality. Our findings and recommendations are student centred aiming their personal and academic performance in addition with the optimization of their behaviour and of the quality of life.

Resumen
Pineal tumors comprise 1% of all primary central nervous system neoplasms. They are classified as Pineocytoma, Pineal parenchymal tumor of intermediate differentiation, and Pineoblastoma, as well as Papillary tumor of the pineal region. Pineoblastomas are most commonly seen in children and teenagers and exhibit aggressive clinical behavior, with frequent metastases throughout the craniospinal axis. Most cases commonly presents with findings of elevated intracranial pressure (headache, nausea/vomiting, and decreased level of consciousness) as a result of obstructive hydrocephalus from compression of the cerebral aqueduct by the tumor mass. Parinaud syndrome (upgaze paralysis, convergence nystagmus, and near-light dissociation) is also seen, as a result of compression of the dorsal midbrain structures. Here we represent a case of a female patient, who started with progressive headache at the age of eighteen, in 2017. After further investigation, she was diagnosed with obstructive hydrocephalus, which was found to be caused by a tumor in the pineal region. Admission to the São Paulo Hospital happened on february 2019 (two years after starting the symptons), when she was submitted to biopsy. Histopathological analysis shower grade IV Pineoblastoma. She underwent radiotherapy from march to april 2019 and two cycles of chemotherapy from march to september 2019, with Ifosfamide, etoposide, carboplatin and vincristine. Despite the fact that the median overall survival of the PB is around 20 months after maximal resection and adjuvant chemotherapy/radiotherapy, our patient has been under follow up since 2019, performing cranial magnetic resonance imaging every six months and maintaining clinically and radiologic signs of stable disease.

Chornodon, Myroslava. FEAUTURES OF GENDER IN MODERN MASS MEDIA. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, febrero de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.49.11064.

Texto completo
Resumen
The article clarifies of gender identity stereotypes in modern media. The main gender stereotypes covered in modern mass media are analyzed and refuted. The model of gender relations in the media is reflected mainly in the stereotypical images of men and woman. The features of the use of gender concepts in modern periodicals for women and men were determined. The most frequently used derivatives of these macroconcepts were identified and analyzed in detail. It has been found that publications for women and men are full of various gender concepts that are used in different contexts. Ingeneral, theanalysisofthe concept-maximums and concept-minimum gender and their characteristics is carried out in the context of gender stereotypes that have been forme dand function in the society, system atizing the a ctual presentations. The study of the gender concept is relevant because it reveals new trends and features of modern gender images. Taking into account the special features of gender-labeled periodicals in general and the practical absence of comprehensive scientific studies of the gender concept in particular, there is a need to supplement Ukrainian science with this topic. Gender psychology, which is served by methods of various sciences, primarily sociological, pedagogical, linguistic, psychological, socio-psychological. Let us pay attention to linguistic and psycholinguistic methods in gender studies. Linguistic methods complement intelligence research tasks, associated with speech, word and text. Psycholinguistic methods used in gender psychology (semantic differential, semantic integral, semantic analysis of words and texts), aimed at studying speech messages, specific mechanisms of origin and perception, functions of speech activity in society, studying the relationship between speech messages and gender properties participants in the communication, to analyze the linguistic development in connection with the general development of the individual. Nowhere in gender practice there is the whole arsenal of psychological methods that allow you to explore psychological peculiarities of a person like observation, experiments, questionnaires, interviews, testing, modeling, etc. The methods of psychological self-diagnostics include: the gender aspect of the own socio-psychological portrait, a gender biography as a variant of the biographical method, aimed at the reconstruction of individual social experience. In the process of writing a gender autobiography, a person can understand the characteristics of his gender identity, as well as ways and means of their formation. Socio-psychological methods of studying gender include the study of socially constructed women’s and men’s roles, relationships and identities, sexual characteristics, psychological characteristics, etc. The use of gender indicators and gender approaches as a means of socio-psychological and sociological analysis broadens the subject boundaries of these disciplines and makes them the subject of study within these disciplines. And also, in the article a combination of concrete-historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is implemented. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. Also used is a method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-stamped journals. It was he who allowed quantitatively to identify and explore the features of the gender concept in the pages of periodicals for women and men. A combination of historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is also implemented in the article. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. A method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-labeled journals is also used. It allowed to identify and explore the features of the gender concept quantitatively in the periodicals for women and men. The conceptual perception and interpretation of the gender concept «woman», which is highlighted in the modern gender-labeled press in Ukraine, requires the elaboration of the polyfunctionality of gender interpretations, the comprehension of the metaphorical perception of this image and its role and purpose in society. A gendered approach to researching the gender content of contemporary periodicals for women and men. Conceptual analysis of contemporary gender-stamped publications within the gender conceptual sphere allows to identify and correlate the meta-gender and gender concepts that appear in society.

Butyrina, Maria y Valentina Ryvlina. MEDIATIZATION OF ART: VIRTUAL MUSEUM AS MASS MEDIA. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, febrero de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.49.11075.

Texto completo
Resumen
The research is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of mediatization of art on the example of virtual museums. Main objective of the study is to give communication characteristics of the mediatized socio-cultural institutions. The subject of the research is forms, directions and communication features of virtual museums. Methodology. In the process of study, the method of communication analysis, which allowed to identify and characterize the main factors of the museum’s functioning as a communication system, was used. Among them, special emphasis is put on receptive and metalinguistic functions. Results / findings and conclusions. The need to be competitive in the information space determines the gradual transformation of socio-cultural institutions into mass media, which is reflected in the content and forms of dialogue with recipients. When cultural institutions begin to function as media, they take on the features of media structures that create a communication environment localized by the functions of communicators and audience expectations. Museums function in such a way that along with the real art space they form a virtual space, which puts the recipients into the reality of the exhibitions based on the principle of immersion. Mediaization of art on the example of virtual museum institutions allows us to talk about: expanding of the perceptual capabilities of the audience; improvement of the exposition function of mediatized museums with the help of Internet technologies; interactivity of museum expositions; providing broad contextual background knowledge necessary for a deep understanding of the content of works of art; the possibility to have a delayed viewing of works of art; absence of thematic, time and space restrictions; possibility of communication between visitors; a huge target audience. Significance. The study of the mediatized forms of communication between museums and visitors as well as the directions of their transformation into media are certainly of interest to the scientific field of “Social Communications”.
