Texto completoThe modern business universe is characterized by globalization of trade and diversification of players who comprise it. To survive in this environment, the company must lean to a set of solid business partners and thus be a strong outer structure that allow not only to survive in its environment but also to ensure sustainable development. In this context, the difficulty of decision-making is i the fact the company does not control all features (internal and external). This implies the need to find ways of coordinating able to mitigate the effects "harmful", ie inconsistencies resulting from the decisin-making. This thesis addresses the problem of decision-making to meet unforeseen orders. It is important because the satisfaction of orders is the is the essence of any enterprise business. In this context, the decision is opertional because the deadline to respond to a command is short. In addition, we voluntarily put in the position for which application are not prepared to forecast previously. Finally, companies that make up the network are considered autonomous in their decisions and their information systems. It is then a distributed architecture. The objective of this work is to develop processes and tools to support the decision to allow the satisfaction of an unexpected in the distribution chain

Texto completoThis research aim to elaborate a tool which arbitrate between different logistical configurations that are equal in time to answer orders (TAO). Face to supply time reduction, the suppliers of the automotive industry limit the distance between factories. We identify a second action lever. We develop a model which evaluate the variation of the TAO when both of the levers are used. The heterogeneity of organizational design that permit to honour the new time deliver need a tool to choose the right configuration. This tool base on the logistical costs, and determine the configuration that is most efficiency, according to the type of the good that is exchanged

Texto completoThe generalisation of the logistic policy in organizing container chains which the very nature a such a transport system enables, entails a complete re-evaluation of port status and demands a new approach of transport production, namely of the handling. As a basic element of port passage and as service production, handling must be satisfactory in terms of container circulation quality -rapidity, reliability, rate. Also, handling must be synchronised with the connected links of the chains. A detailed analysis of quayside production -a crucial operation in port handling shows that there is a need for o more adapted management : exploitation and maintenance should be regarded as the two productive aspects of the activity; on the other hand, quayside production should be integrated so that the global efficiency of actions can be evaluated at the strategic level of "port production". Within this management approach, the development of the maintenance function as an effective logistic support allows a technical and economic control of quayside production. In this aim, the improvement of intervention methods during and off exploitation will guarantee control of hazards and of technical production costs and allow a more scientific management of equipment -of unloading cranes especially. .

Texto completoEmergency management is one of the principal hospital missions. Since the 90s, hospitals have answered, through the emergency structure, an exponential request for not programmed care, which posed the problem of the dimensioning of the structure and its means. This situation provoked enormous organisational problems. In front of this situation, the hospital decision-makers miss tools witch are indispensable to re-size the emergency resources and to choose the new emergency organization. They shall also allow the planning of the emergency management as well as human and material resources allocation. In response to these needs, this thesis proposes an approach of assistance to the management of emergency systems. This approach tackles three principal problems. At first, we focus our attention on the modelling of emergency processes and its main paths. This modelling, coupled with patients flow simulation, will enable us to analyze the functioning of the emergency structure and to determine the parameters which influences the emergency process. We are interested, secondly, in the nursing staff’s allocation by taking into account their profile of competence evolution using the linear programming. In the third time, we shall study the problem of in hospital vital emergencies management. By means of a process modelling combined with a simulation, we proceed to an approach of conception and evaluation of in hospital survival chain. We tackle, in this last stage, the question of appointment of mobile resuscitation emergency team as well as the positioning of semi automatic defibrillator

Texto completoDue to the expansion of the life duration and the shortage of medical personal in hospitals the EU funded IWARD project as part of the IFP6 program. The aims of this project were to assist the medical personnel in logistic and non medical tasks (transport, cleaning, environmental monitoring, guidance and tele-monitoring) through the usage of mobile, reconfigurable, rechargeable robots, thus letting the Medical staff to concentrate on medical aspects of their work. This thesis was part of this project, and our work consisted on developing a decision making framework for the team of robots. In the first part of the thesis, we address the strategic decisions essentially the: (i) the robots’ home station location problem, (ii) Robot‘s reconfiguration problems and (iii) Robots recharging scheduling. We formulate those problems as a linear problems and we propose to solve them using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP). We also present a formulation using a column generation approach to solve those problems. In the later part we address the tactical problems, mainly the mission assignment, the mission scheduling and rescheduling. We present two different approaches; a centralized decision finder implemented using genetic algorithms. And a decentralized approach using auction like and market based algorithms in order to provided collaborative decision making framework. Finally we compare those two approaches using a custom made discrete event simulation (DES)

Texto completoThe main Supply Chain current issues concern the adaptation to unstable environments. Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) is a recent and promising material management method that is designed to tackle these current issues. The research work details and classifies DDMRP compared to the other material management methods known. The goal of this work is to challenge the main DDMRP promises. This is why a design of experiments was realised on a case study in order to assess MRP II, Kanban and DDMRP behaviours with different variability sources. The DDMRP buffer sizing is a major issue. It was dealt with an optimisation work on a case study. All the contributions were experimented with a DDMRP implementation on a real case. The research work enables several DDMRP advantages to be validated, such as the system adjustment to different variability sources, however this work also allows research perspectives to be underlined

Texto completoNowadays, taking into account hard customer requirements, logistics represent one of the most important key of success for companies. It is clear that the expectations have led companies to explore new ways to improve their economic performance while respecting the imposed requirements. In this context, introducing the decision support tools taking into account operational and environmental constraints in the logistics field has become a major issue to turn up this challenge. Therein, we were interested in this research project in the economical sizing of a fleet of vehicles taking into account the environmental impact and maintenance, while considering two types of vehicles (fuel, electric). The operating mode, the energy consumption as well as the environmental impact caused by the means of transport are taken into account in presenting the various works studied. For the sizing and typology of a vehicle fleet based on maintenance and environmental impact we proposed three strategies, where each is illustrated through the development of an analytical model and a numerical resolution based on an example. The first relates to the strategy of acquisition and resale of all vehicles used at the end of missions, the second is about the strategy of leasing and the third concerns the strategy of acquisition, the subcontracting at the end of missions and resale at the end of the subcontracting contract. The optimization of each strategy is developed in order to determine the optimal number of vehicles of each type to be exploited, the duration of its use, and the preventive maintenance (PM) policy to be adopted for each types of vehicles. Numerical results show the differences between strategies and prove the robustness of the analytical models developed. We note that the impact of the period of health crisis (Covid-19) on the preventive maintenance strategy has been taken into consideration for the first strategy developed

Texto completoWe study the impact of sharing several informations simultaneously in different configurations of supply chains. The valuation is expressed in terms of logistics costs reduction compared to the scenario of non-information sharing. We have evaluated the gain in the overall supply chain, but also at each elementary cost of a particular link. The choice of the shared information is based on their importance in the supply chain management as well as their source (upstream and downstream) in order to establish different exchange mechanisms and negotiation between various links. We have studied the sharing of one, two and three informations simultaneously. Our approach is developed in the context of a mono-product serial supply chain consisting of one supplier, one warehouse, one retailer and customers. We have developed a mathematical model in order to evaluate the gains provided by the sharing of different kinds of information in the context of decentralized decision. In this model, we have injected a perturbation in the shared information in order to be more realistic. This experimental study has highlighted the necessity to establish incentive cooperation mechanisms between the various links in the supply chain, if the gains are benefic exclusively to only one of the links or are particularly unbalanced. These mechanisms are intended in order to lead to a win-win balance between participants. In the second part of our work, we have considered the case of a decentralized decision with sharing simultaneously two pieces of information. This part is carried out in the context of a mono-product and a divergent supply chain integrating several retailers. The quantities allocation from the warehouse to retailers is made in a prorata assignment policy based on retailers’ orders. We have noted that the sharing in its various forms has led to significant reduction cost for the overall supply chain. We have considered later the case of a centralized decision at the warehouse with an assignment of products in order to minimize the supply chain cost. Finally, our approach has been extended to the study of the distribution of gains between retailers for different customer demand configurations. This has allowed us to identify the beneficiaries of this information sharing in different studied contexts. The obtained gains are rarely balanced between links; this resulted in imposing the establishment of cooperative mechanisms incentive for sharing. We have concluded by the fact that a decentralized decision with information sharing is close in performance to a centralized context and we plan to continue this comparative study by taking into account all costs and benefits of these two pilot modes

Texto completoThe emergency department is an important care service that represents the hospital's bottleneck. Emergencies often face overcrowding problems in many countries worldwide. One of the causes of the emergency department overcrowding is the permanent interference between three types of arriving patients: already programmed patients, non-programmed patients and urgent non-programmed patients. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the study and development a decision support system to improve patient management in both normal and overcrowding situation. Two main processes have been developed. A rolling-horizon scheduling process using a memetic algorithm with the integration of controlled genetic operators to determine an optimal schedule for patient. The second dynamic orchestration process, based on communicating agents, takes into account the dynamic and uncertain nature of the emergency environment by continually updating this schedule for patient. This orchestration monitoring in real time the workflow of the patient pathway improves step by step the performance indicators during the execution. Through agent behaviors and communication protocols, the proposed system has established a direct real-time link between the required performances and the effective actions in order to decrease the overcrowding impact. The experimental results in this thesis, implemented at the Regional University Hospital Center (RUHC) of Lille, justify the interest of the application of our approaches to improve the performance indicators thanks to the agents driven patient pathway workflows during their execution

Texto completoThe Humanitarian supply Chain is a key element to enhance a performing response to humanitarian crisis. Because of the internal and external pressure, Humanitarian Organizations (HO) has done efforts during last decades to improve the crisis response in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. However, the performance is challenged by the increasing gap between funding and needs. The main donors ask for more transparency and accountability. Moreover, the pressure from the international community is pushing HO to integrate Sustainability challenges on a near future. Is in this context, and field research results, that the difficulties to consider sustainability on HSC decision-making. The lack of Decision Support Systems and a sustainability culture specific to the HSC have been identified as break to improve the planning of sustainable humanitarian operations. This research work seeks to introduce the sustainability notion to the management of the HSC. The approach followed is the development of a decision support system based on performance, to plan the HSC operations. Three research directions have been explored: (a) How to gather an exhaustive knowledge of a HSC, for both field research and development of DSS? The proposed contribution is a Meta-Model of the HSC, for field research porpoise and for developing adequate Decision Support Systems. (b) What sustainability means in HSC context? Based on a literature review and field research, a framework is established to define the HSC sustainable performance. (c) How to make sustainable decisions during humanitarian response? This contribution is based on an Operational Research Algorithm, which permits to integrate the sustainable performance on decision making with an interactive approach. The thesis illustrates the three contributions with use cases based on the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC)

Sohrabi, Helia. "Physical internet-enabled hyperconnected distribution assessment". Doctoral thesis, Université Laval, 2016. http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11794/26986.
Texto completoThe Physical Internet (PI) is an initiative that identifies several symptoms of logistics systems unsustainability and inefficiency and tackles them by proposing a novel paradigm called Hyperconnected Logistics. Similar to the Digital Internet, which connects thousands of personal and local computer networks, PI will connect the fragmented logistics systems of today. The main purpose is to enhance the performance of logistics systems from economic, environmental and social perspectives. Focusing specifically on the distribution system, this thesis questions the order of magnitude of the performance gain by exploiting the PI-enabled hyperconnected distribution. It is also concerned by the characterization of the hyperconnected distribution planning. To address the first question, an exploratory research approach based on optimization modeling is applied; first, the current and prospective distribution systems are modeled. Then, a set of realistic business samples are created, and their economic and environmental performance by targeting multiple social performances are assessed. A conceptual planning framework is proposed to support the decision making in the hyperconnected distribution system. Based on the results obtained by our investigation, it can be argued that a substantial gain can be achieved by shifting toward Hyperconnected Distribution. It is also revealed that the magnitude of the gain varies by business characteristics and the targeted social performance. Since the Physical Internet is a novel topic, chapter 1 briefly introduces PI and Hyperconnected Logistics. Chapter 2 discusses the research foundations, goal and methodology. It also describes the challenges of conducting this research and highlights the type of contributions aimed for. Chapter 3 presents the optimization models including a core distribution network design modeling approach. Influenced by the characteristics of the current and prospective distribution systems, three distribution system-driven models are developed. Chapter 4 engages with the characterization of the business samples, the modeling and calibration of the parameter that are employed in the models. The exploratory investigation results are presented in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 describes the hyperconnected distribution planning framework. Chapter 7 summarizes the content of the thesis and highlights the main contributions. Moreover, it identifies the research limitations and potential future research avenues.
Zheng, Yahong. "Supply chain management under availability & uncertainty constraints". Thesis, Ecole centrale de Lille, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012ECLI0019/document.
Texto completoSupply chain management involves a wide range of activities. Among most of them, uncertainty exists inherently and always brings some consequence not expected. However, uncertainty is not considered much in conventional supply chain management. In the case where availability of resources is not what we expect, complexity of supply chain management increases. Taking constraints of uncertainty and availability into account, we aim to discuss supply chain management from different aspects. This thesis is an attempt of systematic and complete research from this point and we would like to offer some references to researchers and managers in supply chain. We focus on three classic sources of uncertainty: demand, manufacturing and distribution. For each source of uncertainty, we analyze its cause and its impact to the performance of the supply chain. Uncertainty is specified into concrete classic problem and an approach is proposed to solve it. Furthermore, bi-level newsboy problem as a miniature of supply chain, is focused under double uncertain environment. Treating uncertain variables is actually a treatment on operational level. The methods used offer good demonstration in treating uncertain variables in decision problems

Texto completoTwo important characteristics of petroleum exploration and production investment are the high financial amounts and uncertainties. For these reasons, the risk analysis should be implemented in the projects evaluation and the selection process. Depending on their available resources, petroleum companies choose a number of projects on the basis of som criteria : the net present value, internal rate of return, profitability index. However, these criteria appear to be insufficient if we consider, on the one hand, the absence of risk idea which is an essential element of the petroleum industry, on the other hand the omission of the correlations and interactions between different projects. In this paper, in order to make up for the lacks of the traditional approach, we apply a variant of Markowitzs method to determine the efficient portfolio exploration and production projects that insure the best compromise minimum risk-maximum return under the different constraints faced by the company. A practical application of this method about selection of petroleum exploration projects in the North Sea is presented. This practica case illustrates the influence of the crude price in the choice of the portfolio

Texto completoWe define a crisis as an event potentially provoking high damages, involving multiple stakeholders, and requiring immediate attention. Eleven case studies are made on various crises. The analyses used to study these cases are twofold. First, a qualitative analysis tracks the decision process. Second, a sequence method is used to retrieve the chronological order of activities. Those analyses lead to an avoidance model of crisis decision. This avoidance behavior is adopted by an individual or an organization not willing to make a too important decision. Several explanations lie behind this behavior : lack of information, high level of stress, lack of power. . . The limits, managerial implications and future researches are presented

Texto completoEnvironmental risks (the greenhouse effect, acid rains. . . ) take place in a context of ecological globalization and complexity. This result justify our work about decisionmaking based on specific hypothesis of rationality and their abibilty to rationalize some choices of environmental preservation. In complete information, game theory modelize strategic interactions in the field of environmental risks. This analysis, based on substantive rationality, suppose that the instrumental and cognitive rationalities of the agents are strong. We point out this kind of hypothesis is limited to rationalize and explain the choices of environmental preservation. Then we study situations of incomplete information. The expected utility theory, based on substantive rationality, suppose that the cognitive rationality of the agents is a little bit weakened. We developp the reasons why this approach don't take complexity and indetermination into consideration. This results justify the necessity to adopt a larger criterion of rationality called procedural rationality. The naiade method, based on this hypothesis of rationality, suppose that the instrumental and cognitive rationalities of the agents are weakened. We illustrate how this method which articulates multicriteria analysis and fuzzy set theory justify some choices of environmental preservation

Texto completoThis research consists in understanding the decision-making modalities in a social and human environment, and therefore, in an irrational and uncertain context. The decision-making scheme adopted is the one put forward by H. A. Simon, since it is general enough and accepted as a canonical model of the decision. A state of art, of the analysis context and the tools, allowing the representation of the knowledge and beliefs, has been carried out. It includes the “classical” logic approaches allowing the reasoning about issues ranging from “political-type” decisions, which are very poorly structured, to “algorithm-type” decisions, which are fully structured and entirely programmable. The tool adopted that allows the reasoning about fuzzy logic: sensed by the philosopher M. Black, whose concept about the uncertainly of belonging has been developed by L. Zadeh, and the theory of possibilities by D. Dubois & H. Prade, and also the “expertons” by A. Kauffman which allow the valuation of expert knowledge. A model is put forward. In the context of H. A. Simon’s four phases in decision-making, it allows to generalize the treatment of the main types of structures of issues about management processes with the help of the fuzzy logic. Several examples are given with the practical modalities of application. An example of a concrete use of the model is studied. A generalization of the concept is carried out as a new decision mode in management: the fuzzy decision-making, both are targeted. Another example is given with the global determination of the transaction cost of a firm, targeted with the help of two criteria stemming from human resources management and strategic marketing

Texto completoOne of the main objectives of development economics is to produce findings that easily translate into policy recommendations. My thesis explores two topics that can influence policies aimed at empowering women and improving the functioning of public institutions in Latin America. In the first two chapters, I investigate the impact of gender norms and exposure to violence on women's decision-making power within households in Mexico. In the third chapter, I examine how reducing information frictions can enhance the use of public administrative data to improve the management and services of courts in Chile. In the first chapter, I investigate why working mothers in Mexico dedicate an average of eighteen hours more to weekly paid and unpaid work than fathers. Particularly, I examine the role gender norms play in determining this work time disparity. To do so, I extend a collective labor supply model with household production to include gender norms and estimate it using Mexican survey data from 2002, 2005, and 2009. The model predictions can replicate the changes in total work time disparity over time. I find that more egalitarian gender norms reduce the total work time disparity between spouses and that their impact is comparable with that of wages. For example, a 16 percentage-point increase in a gender norm index between 2002 and 2005 caused a 2.6-hour decrease in total work time disparity mainly through an increase in women's bargaining power. To achieve the same 2.6-hour reduction, women's wages would need to increase by 11% over 2005 levels. In the second chapter, using longitudinal data on household decision-making in Mexico, I explore the impact of a violence environment, measured by homicides, on spouses' decisions and their bargaining power. I find that an increase in the homicide rate decreases the number of decisions taken by women and men, thus reducing the number of decisions taken jointly. For example, the average increase of 9.3 homicides in the twelve-month homicide rate during the War on Drugs caused couples to decrease the number of joint decisions by 6% from its baseline. The changes in joint decisions represent a reversal into more historical gender spheres of decisions, with men lowering their participation in decisions about children's education and clothing while women reducing their decisions on male private consumption goods and large expenditures. Suggesting that although the reduction in number of decisions was similar for both women and men, community violence might dis-empower women in the household. The last topic I analyse in this thesis relates to public institutions. In Latin America, there is a wealth of administrative data available from public institutions. However, a lack of data management and analytic skills is a significant barrier to utilizing this data for evidence-based decision-making. In the third chapter, co-authored with Daniel Chen, Manuel Ramos-Masqueda, and Bernardo Silveira, we examine the extent to which information frictions in management are a meaningful barrier to court productivity in Chile. First, we randomly promote the use of an online platform featuring court statistics through email campaigns directed towards court managers. Second, within this platform, we simplify the main homepage feedback containing the information on court statistics and randomize managers' access to it. We find that the email promotion and the simplification of the homepage feedback enhance court productivity across multiple indicators. For instance, the new simplified homepage increased case clearance by one standard deviation for those who log into the platform. Additionally, we find that the treatments are more effective for more experienced court managers, who have less accurate baseline beliefs. This suggests that reducing information frictions not only enhances overall court performance but also helps bridge the performance gap between less and more experienced court managers

Texto completoThis thesis is related to decision making and collaboration within a supply chain context. After a critical review on supply chain activities and their management, we focuse on the decision making complexity and collaboration forms related to manufacturing supply chains. This study proposes a model "MASC" based on cognitive and autonomous agents. MASC model is generic and aims at modeling any supply chain structure. It contributes to facilitate the collaborative management between activities. This model can be viewed as a mono and multi criteria decision making tool. It can also be considered as a strategic analysis tool for supplier managers in order to understand the dynamic and uncertainty of the entreprise environment. The usefulness of MASC is illustrated on an academic context within the regional project COPILOTES (Rhône-Alpes region), and then it has been validated on an industrial case study (pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical entreprise (LAAP))

Texto completoThis thesis is a contribution to robust decision making in maintenance of systems subject to gradual degradation. Our first contribution is to develop a criterion allowing the joint evaluation of the mean economic performance and the robustness of different types of maintenance strategies. The advantage of the proposed criterion is that it adapts to different types of maintenance strategies and provides access to a simple and relevant evaluation model. The second contribution is devoted to the development and the evaluation of a joint maintenance and spares parts management strategy that applies to multi-component systems with different qualities. For the proposed joint strategy, prognostic indicator is used for both maintenance and procurement decision-making. The evaluation criterion proposed above is used for the evaluation of this policy as well. The third contribution corresponds to the proposal of two conditional maintenance strategies with hybrid inspections for the maintenance of multi-component systems with different and unknown qualities. For the strategies proposed, online monitoring information is used to disclose the quality of system components to be maintained using statistical techniques of classification and estimation

Texto completoAfter demostrating the progressive emergence of the concept of unconscious in the science of management, this thesis explains how psychoanalysis takes in this evolution. The phenomena of language and the intersubjective are discussed as unconscious parts of the decision-making process. Thus in the university community, decision-making is a collective process : signifiers are formulated and repeated as they circulate, echoing others signifiers and finally creating a meaningful utterance. It is this utterance that forms the base and the condition of the decision-making act. An hermeneutics of the decision-making emerges supported by the "four speeches" theory of Jacques Lacan and proposing a model of interpersonal relations and an interpretative method likely to clarify the decision-making in universities and others organizations

Texto completoThe objective of our work is to study chief acountant officer role in accounting decision making process and wide ranging space of his discretionary, that is, the space where he can choose between several options, but in a dependency context. In a first part, we highlighted his lack of stuides related to the decision. We also tried to explain this paradox, using delegation and principal-agent theories. Their deficiencies are proved. In a second part, we described his role accounting decision making process. We defined what an accounting decision is, then built an accounting decision making process model. This processual approach leads us to the convention therory. We prposed a model who has been checked with qualitative methods, but also quantitative tools, a sruvey of chief accountant officers point of view. Our results show that a discretionary space really exists, and that chief accountant officer is a main actor in financial transparency, and it appears that convention of representation of job is changing, espacially form the experience of the actor mentioned earlier

Texto completoThis present work examines the factors who flow in the decisions taking in the algerian public entreprises. In the lump, we have two landings of analysis: in the first time, we describe the juridical emptiness proper to the organisation of the public sector and contradictions inherent to the coexistence of doctrinal principles, decentralization, participation and the enterprise subordination to many institutions reputed to secure the macro-economical decision. In the second time, we turn our attention to the consequences of the directive allocation system wich contain economic, political, financial and social objectives. This abuts to a structural crisis that we try to describe through a methodical rail which consist to couple the disturbance factors (internal, external, physical, conjonctural and structural ). This rail reflect the state of a public enterprise whence the activity is according to the provisions of the plan and the many controls. Now, those controls don't stop the surcosts of the exploitation or investment, surcosts which are masked by the oil rent. Many adjustments are necessary: 1) - an adjustment of the planning system by the pratical of the negotiations bet- wen the plan and the enterprises in order to have better realization of the objectives; 2) - a revision of the providing supplies, production and distribution, those de- faults and disturbances incite many surcosts in the productive system; 3) - the reform of the enterprises will be ineffective if the government don't im- prove the methods of valorization of the human resources and inquiries

Texto completoThe thesis studies the Inventory Routing Problem (IRP) with explicit energy consideration. Under the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) model, the IRP is an integration of the inventory management and routing, where both inventory storage and transportation costs are taken into account. Under the new sustainability paradigm, green transport and logistics has become an emerging area of study, but few research focus on the ecological aspect of the classical IRP. Since the classical IRP concentrates solely on the economic benefits, it is worth studying under the energy perspective. The thesis gives an estimation of the energetic gain that a better supplying plan can provide. More specifically, this thesis integrates the energy consumption into the decision of the inventory replenishment and routing. It starts with a part supplying problem in car assembly lines, where the transported mass, the vehicle dynamics and the travelled distance are identified as main energy influencing factors. This result is extended to the classical IRP with energy objective to show the potential energy reduction that can be achieved. Then, an industrial challenge of IRP is presented and solved using a column generation approach. This problem put the limitations of the classical IRP model in evidence, which brings us to define a more realistic IRP model on a multigraph. Finally, a Lagrangian relaxation method is presented for solving this new model with the aim of energy minimization

Texto completoThe importance of supply chain management has gre ally lncreased lately in the se arch for company performance. The analysis of su chextended systems, of the ir various types of flows and of the in coordination has been studied by several modelling approaches in the field of lndustrial Engineering. None of them seems suitable to supply chain context, taking account of: several views, dynamic and stochastic characteristics, combined global and detailed models. Our contribution consists in proposing a methodology for supply chain performance diagnostic supported by generic decision support tools and easily usable by actors. Lt is a four-step methodology. The first step aims at precisely defining the sequence and the positioning of the methodology within the company. The goal of the second step is modelling supply chain processes. Thirdly, the functioning analysis step deals with a complete analysis of every process in order to identify malfunctionings which penalise supply chain performance. Lastly, the optimisation step leads to the implementation of improvement actions. The methodology supported by ARIS and ARENA, was experimented on an industrial case with Company Valrhona

Texto completoThe Circular Economy (CE) is perceived as one of the main instruments to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs). Even though companies are showing increasing interest to transform their businesses into a circular economy model, they are experiencing difficulties due to a lack of methods, tools, and indicators to assess circularity strategies and to measure the performance of reverse logistics systems. There are limited studies on the assessment of CE strategies of a product, supply chain, and service at the micro-level. The main objective of this Ph.D. thesis is to propose methods and tools to evaluate circularity strategies and measure the performance of reverse logistics. The study begins with identifying decision-making factors and indicators. Afterward, modeling of the reverse logistics system is accomplished to understand the complex interaction among decision variables. Then a circular economy assessment method, tool, and indicators have been developed to assist companies in the decision-making process. A case study with multiple companies is performed to examine, validate and demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model, tools and indicators. The main contributions of this Ph.D. thesis include: * a taxonomy of decision-making variables and circular economy indicators for reverse logistics, * a system dynamics model to represent the complex system of reverse logistics system in order to understand the complex interaction among end-of-life decision variables, * a circular economy indicator for reverse logistics that used to measure the performance of products in reverse logistics system, * a circular economy assessment method to evaluate the potential environmental and economic benefits of transforming a firm into a circular business, * a circular economy assessment tool to evaluate circularity strategies of end-of-life products, and * a systematic analysis of the interplay among diverse disciplines including reverse supply chain, business model; product and service design; product and service use; policy and end-of-life (EoL) treatment in circular economy research. The findings of this PhD work assist industrial practitioners in decision-making on the management of post-used products. The contributions of this Ph.D. thesis deemed to support the transition towards a more sustainable circular economy

Texto completoThis work is located at the overlapping point of two research fields : the management of human ressources on the side and MIS on the other side. It is questionning whether using Interactive decision making Support Systems ( IDMS ) is appropriate in order to answer following questions : what is the efficiency of IDMS in the management of Human Ressources ? Can we identify their significance and their limits ? The aim of this recherche is dual. First, we have to establish how the IDMS can help achieving the targets of today's HR management. Then, considering that any management tool has be somewhat specific to its application scope, we will conclusively prove that the efficiency of the IDMS is depending from the environment it is implemented on. A first step, using a preliminary survey on the individualization of wages, gave three types of results : a definition of the efficiency of IDMS in HR management, a proposal for IDMS classification, and a model for operative research. The second step is validating this model with three cases studies. We confirm with this methodology the assumption that the efficiency of IDMS is depending from its context of use (defined through the MIS, decision process, and the organisation of the IDMS itself), influenced itself by the organisational environment of the decision maker. We conclude positively on the efficiency of IDMS for HR management. This work is also establishing that today's HR management can profit from the new information technologies such as IDMS, and that those could lead to secondary positive consequences (a restructured information, reflections about the practices of HR and its position in the organization)

Texto completoThis thesis explores the conceptions that the managers have about the intuition and its role in the decision-making processes. The framework followed to argue this thesis led us, in a first part , to justify our theoretical positioning and to develop our objectives of research. This first stage directed us towards the study of various theoretical approaches of the intuition and of the place which the researchers in management have grant to it in the decision-making processes. We explored the various models of stategic decision making and we tried to examine them through the prism of the relation intuition - decision. The empirical checking of these research is developed in the second part of the thesis. We carried, for that, interviews with fifty leader of tour operators of the tourist sector. We tried to release from these talks the ideas that the managers have about the intuition, about its role in the decision making, and about the factors which may influence the extent of this role

Texto completoImproving decision performance (DP) is a challenge for all managers, regardless of the industry in which they work. This challenge is even more important in the current business environment where decisions become more complex, less structured, and increasingly based on organizational knowledge. Although KM is underlined for his contribution to the PD, recent research indicates the relationship between these two concepts needs more investigation in order to be better exploited in the management of organizations. To fill this gap, the objective of this thesis was to investigate the contribution of a multidimensional approach of KM to better support DP. Our approach considers factors from organizational, technological and human dimensions, and a culture that recognizes the value of knowledge. These dimensions of KM are mentioned in the literature, and are often investigated separately. However, in this thesis we pay special attention to interaction effects between them, to provide a holistic perspective in a real context. We conducted an action research in a company in the forestry sector; particularly we studied planning and forecasting of forest operations processes. This fieldwork provided rich data and interesting results, as well as highliighting problems that can be found in other sectors. Our results provide a deeper understanding and a holistic view of the KM based on a multidimensional approach to better support DP within organizations. Our results show that organizational, technological and cultural dimensions of the KM are all important and are deeply interrelated. We put in place mechanisms and initiatives that allowed us to validate this empirically. The approach used in the context of our action research can be exploited in other companies that seek to improve the DP, whether the forestry sector or elsewhere. Key words: Knowledge management; Decision performance; Multidimensional approach of KM; Action research; Knowledge mapping; Business process mapping; Forestry operations; Wood supply network.

Texto completoToday, industrial systems become more and more complex. The complexity is due partly to the structure of the system that cannot be reduced to classic structure reliability (series structures, parallel structures, series-parallel structures, etc), secondly the consideration of components with gradual degradation phenomena that can be monitored. This leads to the main purpose of this thesis on the development of predictive maintenance strategies for complex multi-component systems. The proposed policies provide maintenance grouping strategies to take advantage of the economic dependence between components. The predictive reliability of components and importance measures allowing taking into account the structure of the system and economic dependence are developed to construct the grouping decision rules. Moreover, a joint decision rule for maintenance and spare parts provisioning is also studied. All the conducted studies show the interest in the consideration of the predictive reliability of components, economic dependencies as well as complex structure of the system in maintenance decisions and spare parts provisioning. The advantage of the developed strategies is confirmed by comparing with the other existing strategies in the literature

Texto completoThe supply chain design is a set of strategic decisions that determine the best configuration of the supply chain and contribute to its performance. Therefore, our objective is the establishment of a support system to assist decision makers in this process, a crucial step for the sustainability of the Supply Chain. In this work, we focused on three key decisions necessary made at the first stage in the Supply Chain design. These decisions mainly concern: the facility location, the choice of suppliers and make or buy semi-finished products which fall within the formation of a final product. These three decisions are multi-criteria problems. Furthermore, evaluating a wide range of alternatives with respect to conflicting criteria, the lack of reliable data sources, the subjectivity inherent to individuals involved in making decisions, constitute a set of constraints that we are trying to overcome by using a method that has provided valuable solutions in other applications: the fuzzy reasoning. This approach is combined with mathematical optimization method through the concept of total utility. This gives a "hybrid model", because on the one hand it is based on mathematical optimization theory and in the other hand on the multi-criteria theory. It allows considering the operational and strategic aspects of the Supply chain design problem. .

Texto completoThe purpose of this thesis is to study the behaviors on the insurance market of agents whose preferences under uncertainty are represented using non-additive models which generalize the expected utility and make possible to separate the attitude towards uncertainty from the attitude towards wealth. This preferences representation, together with the assumption that agents don't know precisely the probability distribution of their losses, makes the modelling of insurance behaviors more realistic and allows a better understanding of the choices observed on insurance markets. The first chapter of the thesis is a presentation of the models of decision making under probabilized uncertainty (risk) and under non-probabilized uncertainty. In the second one, we study the demand for insurance when the agent faces only one source of risk. Firstly, we assume that the agent is able to locate the probability distribution of potential losses into a given set of distributions, his preferences are then represented by the Jaffray model. After that, we consider a general non-probabilized uncertainty framework where preferences are represented by the choquet expected utility. In the third chapter, a background risk is introduced. The impact of this additional source of risk on the demand for insurance on the insurable risk is examined in the cases when the two risks are comonotonic and anti-comonotonic. The forth chapter deals with the contracts offered by a monopoly insurer in an adverse selection framework, when the insurees have only imprecise information on their loss probability. The last chapter of the thesis is an empirical examination of the choices of life insurance contracts. The aim of this study is to test the impact of life expectations on the contracts bought by the agents

Texto completoPower generation has been undergoing a radical change due to the expansion of renewable energies. The part of the generation which can be characterised as intermittent and scarce is increasing in importance and is creating new overload constraints on electrical grids called congestions. In this context, batteries are gaining a growing attention for their potential in congestion management. The thesis work contained in this manuscript deals with the conception of new algorithms relying on batteries to solve congestions on meshed electrical grid. The presented control strategy mingle batteries actions and renewable curtailment. The control is based on two levels. The upper level relates to planification and the lower level is dedicated to real-time congestion management. The lower level is developped using Model Predictive Control and provides a framework to take into account delays on control actions. The upper level covers the batteries trajectories planning, supports the lower level and defines batteries capacity used for real-time congestion management and the residual capacities of these batteries. This level can thus be used to define a multi-service framework for batteries. The residual capacities can be offered to other actors or services of the electrical market. The developped algorithms are implemented on a project conducted by the french Transmission System Operator (RTE) : the RINGO Project. This project is a demonstrator program whose aim is to validate large capacity storage as a solution to congestions

Texto completoAs taylorist management relies on workers' manual power, participative management involves workers' conceptual input. One advantage of the participative approach is that it allows the firm to use the entire knowledge of the workers. From this point of view, the workers' skills and cognitive abilities are better used in the participative model than in the taylorist one. The participative approach may thus be considered as an exchange between the employer and the employee. To succeed, such an approach has to be advantageous for the individual and for the firm. In fact, the participative approach allows the firm to achieve a twofold benefit. The social benefit results from increased employees' motivation. The economic benefit is an improvement of the productive process. Our case study is on a sample of 32 big firms which are using the total quality management (tqm). The tqm uses the intelligence of all the individuals, that is their general ability to solve problems by taking local decisions. Individual behavior is central in that it determines the organization's success. Keywords : participation, decision making, motivation, tqm (total quality management), firm's performance
