Resumen
In India, most of the streets within the habitations are illuminated from evening until morning, averaging roughly 12 hours per day. Throughout the night, some streets may not have automobiles or even pedestrians travelling through them which results in power loss. In addition, the number of vehicles on the road is increasing every day, and traditional traffic management is still in use, road accidents are one of our country's key issues. Many important lives are lost as a result of these accidents, which occur when emergency assistance is unavailable. So, our proposed solution for this problem is that we are designing a model that first detects the traffic and examine then based on situation it controls the lightening system and send traffic intensity data to internet hour wise. For accident detection we used the SOS button to get help immediately and crewman get the exact location of accident. According to the results obtained from the proposed method, energy usage is greatly reduced, and we can receive a very quick alarm when something unpleasant occurs.

Resumen
Abstract: Wise city management, good road management is one of the most important things. Traffic congestion can be effectively controlled, provided that the number of vehicles passing through a traffic junction can be determined in advance. The proposed approach introduces a framework, which has the potential to continuously transmit traffic and generate alarms in the event of a major traffic congestion at the Sangli control station or in similar Indian cities. The number of vehicles passing through the area well before the required road junction can be estimated using the help of image processing techniques. In addition, monitoring information can be shared with a remote control centre near the city via the Internet. The tests performed show the effectiveness of this Internet-based technology (IoT) technology. Keywords: Traffic Volume Estimation, Genetic Algorithm, Wireless sensor network, Vehicle detection, Intelligent Traffic Signal Controller.

Resumen
Traffic is one of the indispensable problems of modern societies, which leads to undesirable consequences such as time wasting and greater possibility of accidents. Adaptive Traffic Signal Control (ATSC), as a key part of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), plays a key role in reducing traffic congestion by real-time adaptation to dynamic traffic conditions. Moreover, these systems are integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) devices. IoT can lead to easy implementation of traffic management systems. Recently, the combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the IoT has attracted the attention of many researchers and can process large amounts of data that are suitable for solving complex real-world problems about traffic control. In this paper, we worked on the real-world scenario of Shiraz City, which currently does not use any intelligent method and works based on fixed-time traffic signal scheduling. We applied IoT approaches and AI techniques to control traffic lights more efficiently, which is an essential part of the ITS. Specifically, sensors such as surveillance cameras were used to capture real-time traffic information for the intelligent traffic signal control system. In fact, an intelligent traffic signal control system is provided by utilizing distributed Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) and applying the traffic data of adjacent intersections along with local information. By using MARL, our goal was to improve the overall traffic of six signalized junctions of Shiraz City in Iran. We conducted numerical simulations for two synthetic intersections by simulated data and for a real-world map of Shiraz City with real-world traffic data received from the transportation and municipality traffic organization and compared it with the traditional system running in Shiraz. The simulation results show that our proposed approach performs more efficiently than the fixed-time traffic signal control scheduling implemented in Shiraz in terms of average vehicle queue lengths and waiting times at intersections.

Resumen
This paper aims at designing a system that focusses on two major societal issues in India i.e. improper garbage management and loss of energy from existing street lighting systems. We designed an intelligent lighting system Using embedded systems and machine learning algorithm we predict the environmental lighting conditions and accordingly change the behavior of the street lights. The present street lighting systems use timer or manual interaction to turn on and off the lights. But these methods are not energy efficient. In our model, we used Light Dependent Resistor LDR and algorithm to eliminate those drawbacks. In Garbage monitoring system, alerting the concerned authorities about the level of garbage collected was the most important aspect. In this system, an Ultrasonic sensor along with machine learning algorithm was used to solve the above situation.

Resumen
Public lighting or street lighting systems are raised sources of light on the edge of the road or walkway, that is turned ON at night or during bad weather to lighten the streets and turned OFF in the morning. The major problem with streetlights is their excessive energy consumption as most of that energy is wasted because the streets are empty between about 11 pm to 5 am. This also leads to the rapid degration of the streetlights and increased cost of maintenance operations which constitute a financial burden to the municipality. This paper solves this problem by proposing an energy management system for solar-powered streetlights that in addition to turning the streetlights ON when places are dark, puts the streetlights in an energy-saving mode when there is no one on the streets. Vibration sensors are used as motion detectors. The study is focused on the second bridge on the River Wouri, Douala, Cameroon. Simulation of the work is done using Proteus Professional and the results obtained are compared with an estimated daily energy consumption of the existing streetlights on the bridge. It is seen that the energy consumption of the proposed system is 25740Wh, and this is far lesser compared to 187200Wh consumed by the existing system assuming each lamp is 150W.

Resumen
For any insurance contract to see the light of day, a particular process flow is usually followed. This process flow begins with the customer calling an agent to obtain insurance, and ends with the customer receiving a quote for the coverage. Precision methods focus on improving precision and quality and on planning measures that absolutely address issues and meet the necessary requirements. Unlike automation where the focus is on speeding up tasks and processes, a precision-based approach is centered around improving the quality of the process. More current practices call for ceaselessly examining and retooling tasks/operations to achieve ever more noteworthy business esteem. In this paper, the Insurance Policy Administration System is covered in detail. The format, layout, and key details that the insurance policy entails are thoroughly covered. Some key functionalities like The Policy Submission, Risk Analysis, Policy changes and renewals, Policy cancellation in a typical Policy Administration System are reviewed. Since the Policy Administration System cannot be a standalone service and has to be used along with external systems, the integration of this typical policy administration system with an external system like a user management system is also discussed.

Resumen
Street lights account for the maximum energy expense for any city. A smart street lighting system can cut out lighting costs by almost 70%. A smart street lighting system is a system that adjusts light output based on usage and movement, i.e., automatically detecting movements of either pedestrians or vehicles in the vicinity. For effective street light management, we propose installing a wireless-based system to remotely track and control the energy consumption of street lights of a particular city in real-time and take necessary energy conservation measures through power conditioning and adaptive control. The proposed system should be installed on the street light poles which consist of a wireless module that continuously transmits data to back-end IT systems where we can uninterruptedly monitor the condition of the lights. We can control the LED street lighting based on traffic flow in that particular area. The data from the system can be transferred to a central server using wireless technology and Cloud to have global access to the system. We can automate the system to switch on or off the lights at specific timings. We can also easily identify any glitches or failures in our system because everything is connected over the Internet.

Resumen
Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) make the exchange of information possible through cooperative systems that broadcast traffic data to enhance road safety. Traffic light assistance (TLA) systems in particular utilize real-time traffic light timing data by accessing the information directly from the traffic management center. To test the reliability of a TLA system based on networked intervehicular interaction with infrastructure, we present in this paper an approach to perform theoretical studies in a lab-controlled scenario. The proposed system retrieves the traffic light timing program within a range in order to calculate the optimal speed while approaching an intersection and shows a recommended velocity based on the vehicle’s current acceleration and speed, phase state of the traffic light, and remaining phase duration. Results show an increase in driving efficiency in the form of improvement of traffic flow, reduced gas emissions, and waiting time at traffic lights after the drivers adjusted their velocity to the speed calculated by the system.

Resumen
Apple packout audits were conducted during 1991 to 1993 to assess effects of five orchard systems (three cultivars, two age groups) on fruit packout and determine if relationships exist between light quality and productivity. Cultivar/rootstock combinations on 1979 T-trellis and central-leader systems had the lowest light levels and relative yields. Trees on either 1979 3-wire trellis, 1986 MIA, or 1985 West Virginia spindle had the highest light transmission, and trees on 1979 or 1985 West Virginia spindle systems had the highest yields. Extra fancy/fancy packouts across systems ranged from 40% to 85%. `Empire', regardless of system, had the highest packouts, and `Golden Delicious' on 1979 or 1986 central leader had the lowest packouts. A regression analysis comparing percentage packout in grades below fancy to percentage full sun indicated that reduced packouts were related to low light conditions. Orchard system influenced the number of fruit downgraded due to color, russet, bruises, bitter pit, cork spot, apple scab, rots, sooty blotch/fly speck, and tufted apple budmoth. Regression analyses comparing defects to field data indicated that bitter pit decreased as yield efficiency increased, and rot and sooty blotch/fly speck incidence were related to low canopy light penetration. Revenue losses were disproportionate to percentage of downgraded fruit because some defects had a greater impact on grade than others. The greatest revenue losses were for russet in `Golden Delicious' on 1986 central leader ($1656.60/acre) and for bitter pit in `Golden Delicious' on 1979 T-trellis ($1067.30/acre). Total losses in returns for individual systems ranged from $453.71/acre for `Empire' on 3-wire trellis to $3145.49/acre for `Golden Delicious' on 1986 central leader. The comparisons of young versus mature system yields and packouts indicate that medium- to high-density vertical or inclined canopy systems are superior to horizontal or low-density vertical freestanding systems. The cost-benefit analyses prescribe areas where management can be changed in existing systems to increase profitability.

Resumen
Different fish species and different growth stages require different amounts of fish pellets. Excessive fish pellets increase the cost of aquaculture, and the leftover fish pellets sink to the bottom of the fish farm. This causes water pollution in the fish farm. Weather changes and providing too many or too little fish pellets affect the growth of the fish. In light of the abovementioned factors, this article uses the artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) precision feeding management system to improve an existing fish feeder. The AIoT precision feeding management system is placed on the water surface of the breeding pond to measure the water surface fluctuations in the area of fish pellet application. The buoy, with s built-in three-axis accelerometer, senses the water surface fluctuations when the fish are foraging. Then, through the wireless transmission module, the data are sent back to the receiver and control device of the fish feeder. When the fish feeder receives the signal, it judges the returned value to adjust the feeding time. Through this system, the intelligent feeding of fish can be achieved by adjusting the amount of fish pellets in order to reduce the cost of aquaculture.

Resumen
AbstractThe object of this study is the system of amoebas founded originally in Japanese Kyocera. The study aims to identify milestones of the transformation in a company organisational system to the Amoeba Management System (AMS). The study takes a conceptual research approach. It starts from the analysis of available sources on the AMS, identifies the most challenging points of this system, and afterwards, based on organisational change literature, formulates the main steps of transformation towards AMS. The following milestones of AMS implementation emerge from organisational change theories: (1) the preparation for AMS, (2) the change of organisational structure, (3) the design and introduction of a new accounting system, (4) the introduction of inner prices between amoebas, and (5) the transformation of the organisational culture. At the end of the study, the most important issues for future research are listed.

Resumen
The mare is a seasonally polyoestrous long-day breeder with a physiological breeding season lasting from April–October in the Northern Hemisphere. The hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in the mare is subject to a circannual endogenous rhythm that is primarily regulated by day length. Increasing ambient photoperiod in the spring alters the pattern of melatonin secretion. The resulting stimulation of hypothalamic gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion triggers pituitary follicular stimulating hormone release and follicular growth. Exposure of mares in deep anoestrus to a stimulatory photoperiod remains the most successful method of advancing the first ovulation of the season. The most commonly used lighting regimen is providing a fixed length of 15–16 hours of light exposure and 8–9 hours of dark, with a minimum light intensity in a stable of 100-lux (100–200 watt incandescent bulb). Other methods include using an additional 2.5 hours of light beginning at sunset and a pulse lighting system, providing 1 hour of light, 9.5–10.5 hours after the onset of darkness, during the photosensitive phase. Alternatively, the EquilumeTM light masks provide a unilateral LED light source emitting 50 lux of blue-light directly to the eye during the hours after dusk (until 11 pm). Mares that have not been maintained under lights, or that have been exposed to ineffective light therapy, may require therapeutic hormonal intervention to advance the onset of the first ovulation of the season. Many hormone protocols involving progestins, GnRH, dopamine agonists and recombinant luteinising hormone/follicle stimulating hormone have been studied with variable results. Therapy is typically more effective when started either in late transitional mares or following a period of stimulatory artificial photoperiod.

Resumen
The Ukrainian energy market has been analyzed region-wise in terms of consumption of fuel and energy resources by household sector. Critical aspects of improving energy security have been reflected in the context of the use of energy resources. The principal directions of the socially responsible market economy system have been offered in the light of the country’s economic security in terms of overcoming “fuel poverty”. Cognitive features of the “fuel poverty” phenomenon have been defined. Mathematical modeling of the “fuel poverty” index has been carried out using the following approaches: “after fuel cost poverty”; energy expenditure above 10% of disposable income; the Low Income – High Costs, where households with relatively high energy costs and low income are emphasized. A model of the final calculation of household energy costs has been developed for the purpose of optimal management. The graphical abstract of the obtained “fuel poverty” index solutions has been presented, with the upper left corner – low income – high costs – serving as a critical zone. The block diagram of improving the socially responsible market economy system in the light of overcoming “fuel poverty” has been offered.

Resumen
Lighting energy shares a large portion of building energy. Although lighting control system is deployed in the building, it has limited effects on reducing lighting energy use without the help of occupancy sensors. We use PC’s power save mode as an occupancy sensor in office buildings that are not equipped with occupancy sensors. When each PC goes to power save mode, it means that there is no one in that area, that is, no occupancy. If we make mapping relation between the lights and the PC’s, we can figure out when the light should be turned on and off from the state of PC’s power save mode. This scheme can contribute to reduction of lighting energy use in buildings that has lighting control system but has no occupancy sensors. The estimated results show the positive effect on reduction of the lighting energy use.

Resumen
The smart home and management system in this study are powered by D.C. batteries. Before running out of power, a fully charged battery can last for two to three days. When you turn on the system, the maximum temperature and the name of the study are shown on the LCD. Additionally, it will demonstrate that no one is in the house. As more individuals enter the house after you click the push button to enter, it will show on the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that you are welcome and that there are now more people inside. You get to decide how many people you let inside the residence. If you set the limit to 12, the door won't open again until someone quits the building by pressing the exit button before another person is allowed to enter. You can pick when you want the fan to turn on automatically by setting the maximum temperature. The fan in the house is used to lower the temperature if the weather is hot. The fan won't turn on until the maximum temperature of 30 °C has been reached, for example. Additionally, if everyone leaves the house, the fan and light will turn off automatically because nobody is inside. For safety purposes, there is a light in front of the house. It will automatically turn on if it becomes dark outside at night. The second LDR outside the home is in charge of controlling this light. The exterior light will turn off during the day if the LDR detects light, and it will turn on automatically at night if it detects dark. This is done for security reasons. Within the residence is the first LDR. It will switch on the lights when someone enters the house. No one will be able to exit the house before the light is turned off.

Resumen
Abstract Tea farming stands on a vast area. The quality and quantity of products enormously depend on the management and control of the environmental conditions of the tea farms. Feasible and continuous monitoring of the plantations’ parameters is needed to achieve the desired farm output. 50%-60% of the light intensity needs to be filtered on each tea plant throughout the year. Traditionally, shading is achieved by planting leguminous trees inside the farms. So it is extensively required to monitor the shading capacity continuously to overcome the degradation of the farm’s product. In this paper, a simple, sustainable shade management system is designed. The system is embedded with Atmega 2560 controller, and a wireless network has been achieved using the ZigBee module. A systematic array of LDRs acquires light Intensity. The measured parameters are wirelessly transmitted continuously to the central decision support system with associated information like locations, sensor values, etc. The proposed method is easily extensible and user-friendly.

Threat and error management in complex systems has historically centered around failures rather than successes. This has led to an unbalanced view of risk within organizations in that information regarding resiliency within the system (those factors which help to negate failure) are typically ignored. Currently, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) employs the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) to both identify human error involved in mishaps and assess those events which prevented more serious consequences from occurring. This paper demonstrates a Red Light/Green Light analysis of a case study, EVA 23, to outline an incident in which an astronaut came dangerously close to drowning in space due to the collection of water in his helmet.

Resumen
Emerging lighting technologies provide opportunities for reducing carbon footprints, and for biodiversity conservation. In addition to installing light-emitting diode street lights, many local authorities are also dimming street lights. This might benefit light-averse bat species by creating dark refuges for these bats to forage and commute in human-dominated habitats. We conducted a field experiment to determine how light intensity affects the activity of the light-opportunistic Pipistrellus pipistrellus and light-averse bats in the genus Myotis. We used four lighting levels controlled under a central management system at existing street lights in a suburban environment (0, 25, 50 and 100% of the original output). Higher light intensities (50 and 100% of original output) increased the activity of light-opportunistic species but reduced the activity of light-averse bats. Compared to the unlit treatment, the 25% lighting level did not significantly affect either P. pipistrellus or Myotis spp. Our results suggest that it is possible to achieve a light intensity that provides both economic and ecological benefits by providing sufficient light for human requirements while not deterring light-averse bats.

Resumen
The movement to LED lighting systems worldwide is accelerating quickly as energy savings and reduction of hazardous substances (RoHS) increase in importance. Furthering this trend are government regulations, rebate programs and declining prices. The market drive today is to replace light bulbs of common outputs (60W, 75W and 100W) without resorting to Compact Fluorescent (CFL) bulbs containing mercury while maintaining the standard industry bulb size and shape referred to as A19 for fixture retrofitting. This A19 size and shape restriction causes a small heat sink which is only capable of dissipating heat for 60W equivalent LED bulbs with natural convection. 75W and 100W equivalent bulbs require larger sizes, some method of forced cooling, or some unusual liquid cooling system; generally none of these approaches are desirable for light bulbs from a consumer point of view. Thus, there is interest in developing natural convection cooled A19 light bulb designs for LEDs that cool far more effectively than today's current designs. Current A19 size heat sink designs typically have thermal resistances of 5–7 °C/W. A more efficient method of cooling can be created using a chimney-based design to lower system thermal resistances below 4 °C/W while meeting all other requirements for bulb system design. Numerical studies and test data are in good agreement for various orientations including methods for keeping the chimney partially active in horizontal orientations. Such chimney-based designs are capable of cooling 75W and 100W equivalent LED light bulbs in the limited volume constraints of A19-size devices.

The paper presents a case study which advocates for the adoption of smart outdoor illumination installations that come with energy management systems. To analyse the energy efficiency we carried out measurements on: a) a classical outdoor lighting system, with sodium vapour sources, b) the same system after the sodium vapour light sources were replaced with LEDs, and c) the same system with LEDs augmented with an energy management system. Our analysis shows that replacing the outdoor light-sources with LEDs, in combination with an energy management system, results in a reduction of 40% in energy consumption. At the same time, the luminance coefficients of the LED lighting system are significantly higher than the luminance coefficients of sodium vapour sources.

Resumen
An efficient and intelligent road traffic management system is the corner stone for every smart cities. Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) applies the principles of mobile ad hoc networks in a wireless network for Vehicle-to-vehicle data exchange communication. VANETs supports in providing an efficient Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) for smart cities. Road traffic congestion is a most common problem faced by many of the metropolitan cities all over the world. Traffic on the road networks are widely increasing at a larger rate and the current traffic management systems is unable to tackle this impediment. In this paper, we propose an Efficient Intelligent Traffic Light Control and Deviation (EITLCD) system, which is based on multi-agent system. This proposed system overcomes the difficulties of the existing traffic management systems and avoids the traffic congestion problem compare to the prior scenario. The proposed system is composed of two systems: Traffic Light Controller (TLC) system and Traffic Light Deviation (TLD) system. The TLC system uses three agents to supervise and control the traffic parameters. TLD system deviate the vehicles before entering into congested road. Traffic and travel related information from several sensors are collected through a VANET environment to be processed by the proposed technique. The proposed structure comprises of TLC system and makes use of vehicle measurement, which is feed as input to the TLD system in a wireless network. For route pattern identification, any traditional city map can be converted to planar graph using Euler’s path approach. The proposed system is validated using Nagel–Schreckenberg model and the performance of the proposed system is proved to be better than the existing systems in terms of its time, cost, expense, maintenance and performance.

Resumen
The modern ways to empower the ecofriendly people also insists the necessity to cutting back of energy consumption. The minimizing the energy consumption would in turn reduce the rate of carbon emission, resulting in a cleaner air quality and higher standard of living by paving way for a cleaner planet. The increasing demand on power requirement is also one of the important reason for minimizing the energy consumption. The paper tries to decrease the energy usage of the street light system as the lighting systems in the street does not have an efficient way of managing and controlling the power flow in them as they are incapable of taking into consideration the prevailing demands on the intensity of light. So the paper puts forwards the idea of power management in the smart street lighting to control efficiently the power consumption by comparing the intensity of the light with the weather conditions. The artificial neural networks is used in power management of the street lighting in the proposed method. The evaluation of the method show up with the results that produce the better management of the power and the reduced power usage in street lights.

ABSTRACT: The evaluation of land use and management by the measurement of soil organic matter and its fractions has gained attention since it helps in the understanding of the dynamics of their contribution to soil productivity, especially in tropical environments. This study was conducted in the municipality of Colorado do Oeste, state of Rondônia, Brazil and its aim was to determinethe quantity of organic carbon and total nitrogen in the light and heavy fractions of organic matter in the surface layers of a typic hapludalf under different land use systems: Native Forest: open evergreen forest, reference environment; Agroforestry System 1: teak (Tectona grandis LF) and kudzu (Pueraria montana); Agroforestry System 2: coffee (Coffea canephora), marandu palisade grass (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu), "pinho cuiabano" (Parkia multijuga), teak and kudzu.; Agroforestry System 3: teak and cocoa (Theobroma cacao); Silvopasture System: teak, cocoa and marandu palisade grass; and Extensive Grazing System: marandu palisade grass. The experimental design was a randomized block in split-split plots (use systems versus soil layers of 0-0.05 and 0.05-0.10 m) with three replications. The results showed that relative to Native Forest, the Agroforestry System 2 had equal- and greater amounts of organic carbon and total nitrogen respectively (light and heavy fractions) in the soil organic matter, with the light fraction being responsible for storage of approximately 45% and 70% of the organic carbon and total nitrogen, respectively. Therefore, the light densimetric fraction proved to be useful in the early identification of the general decline of the soil organic matter in the land use systems evaluated.

Resumen
Abstract: In the present era, the population of people living in cities and the number of vehicles on the road is growing by the day. The necessity to govern lanes, thruways, and streets has become a significant concern as the urban population and, as a result, the number of vehicles has grown. Today's traffic framework places minimal emphasis on real-time traffic conditions, resulting in inefficient traffic management systems. Therefore, to overcome such limitations or drawbacks of the present system, the current research proposes a smart and efficient traffic management system that can analyze real-time traffic and take appropriate action. This is achieved by the application of an image processing technique, that would capture the real-time pictures of the paths to compare with the reference image of the path. The evaluation matrix is created to decide the amount of time each light must be on. In addition, an evaluation matrix is created. The purpose of the evaluation matrix is to determine how long each light must be turned on. The MATLAB 7.8 was used to perform the study.
