Texto completoWe analyse the evolution of trojan’s dynamic when the configuration of the planetary system changes. The triangular equilibrium points are perturbed by the influence of planets. In the first chapter we construct a secular model which gives an analytic approximation of the new equilibrium points under this influence. This work reveals that the inner planets have grower influences than the outer ones. In the second chapter, we study the evolution of the planetary system during the planetary migration. In the third chapter, we classify the resonances which perturb the trojans in four very general families. We also give some methods which predict when they appear in the field of trojans’ frequencies. In fourth and fifth chapters, we apply our model in order to study the evolution of Jupiter’s and Saturn’s trojans dynamic during the planetary migration. During the planetary migration the planetary evolution is very complicated, that’s why we decide to work changing only one parameter: Saturn’s semi-major axis. We calculate the trajectories of trojans for several values of this parameter. Then we detail the evolution of each family. Our work show that many resonant structures have strongly destabilized Saturn’s trojans during the end of planetary migration. As a result, Saturn’s trojans have been ejected whereas very few could be captured. On the contrary, Jupiter’s trojans are very few destabilized by resonances during the end of the migration, which permit the surviving of numerous trojans. Lastly, we study the dynamic of Neptune’s trojans in the actual solar system

Texto completoThe myth of Troy provided more subject matter to 16th and 17th century French playwrights than any other ancient fable. The exceptional scope of this legend, the multitude of its scenes and characters, and the variety of available themes and viewpoints can partly explain this phenomenon. Yet this study seeks to demonstrate how the Trojan myth, through its unique legacy and structure, served as a model for exploring the problematics of an era marked by massive political and cultural transformation : the second half of the 16th century saw the birth of both the modern State and the modern theatre. Throughout the 150-year period which followed this simultaneous development, the use of the Trojan theme in different dramatic contexts can be understood in the light of the progression of aesthetic, political, ethical and theological ideas that accompanied the cultural transition at hand

Texto completoBased on an average town too often disregarded but a highly industrial one -troyes and his knitting industry-our study will follow three paths. The first part, a historical analysis, deals with the development of the knitting goods manufacturing in troyes and the aube region, from its prosperous times (1860-1960) to its climax (1960-1976) and its crisis (1976. . . ). Wich industrial capital interests are now at stake and for what sort of industrial city? the second part deals with the possibilities of an economic alternative and its geographical consequences, relying on the volontary diversification implemented during the grouth period (1950-1975). The study of the bases and the changes to the troyes geography shows the lasting predominance of the textile industry in this zone. The third part deals with the industrial aspect of the town, despite its crisis, the industrial layout and the planning policy. Whenever an industry exists within the town, shouldn't the public authorities set the rules, means and goals of a comprehensive management policy for this industry? this study of troyes, the knitting capital in crisis, leads to a local diagnosis; but it also conveys more general ideas about the concept of an industrial capital, the position of a provincial channels in the national process of "disindustrialisation", and the relation of public financing with local development as it is operated by local governement

Texto completoFrom the 16th Century until the 20th, le troyan myth emerges in a variety of forms in French literature with famous or less known works but of equal significance as they convey the climate and the spirit of an era. The reason why all of these writers go into mythology could be partly explained by the imitation of ancients applied to the French letters of the 16th and 17th centuries. How this material is transformed, what the writers are expressing through the legends and the myths, which is the relationship of the transformed materiel with the initial, are some of the questions that this research is requested to explore. During the period of the Absolutism in which the freedom of expression is limited, the myth is proved to be a secure means which offers the security of the distance, the suitable frame and the flexibility of the mythological material which are processed by the creators. It becomes the vehicle of doubt and criticism of various grades against authority. The end of this political period removes from the myth this function. But it doesn’t stop its use in literature and the theater. This is because the myth is capable of putting again questions for the vital causes which deal with the human race, such as the woman, the war, the xenophobia

Texto completoSubordination in the romances of Chretien de Troyes has been investigated in two different ways. First of all, a macroscopic study has been made to show how Chretien, in the twelfth century, used subordination in speech and narration in an inventive way. Then, this study has been completed by a microscopic approach consisting in analysing the various instruments of subordination represented by conjunctions and conjunctive locutions through statistical methods. Following this double approache, we have come to te conclusion that Chretien de Troyes was among those who have made the most elaborate researches on the possibilities offered by subordination

Texto completoAs we focus on historical and topographical aspects at a time when the production of manuscripts enables us to write history, we realize how powerful were urban seigniories throughout 12th and 13th c. Troyes. The enlargement of the urban network, the drying out of humid areas, and the development of surrounding walls for a better defence, earls, among whom Hugues and Henri Ist, gave conditions good enough for the populations to develop. We owe to fiats such a patchy aspect of the city. More, residents within the community were freed from their corporeal domination. Besides, when the nobility became scarce, all the conditions were gathered and as a result the religious establishment extended its power. The way our city developed leads us to put the stress on the vital role of the Religious, helped by juridical incitements from the Comtes de Champagne in the second half of the 12th century. That way ecclesiastical institutions became urban seigniories that can be seen through a group or maps. After codification at the Latran Council, priests exercised rights over parishes the extension of which was an area limited by customs deriving directly from first dotation. The parish network structured the urban environment around churches and monasteries which held control over every street and every household. The regressive approach enabled the establishment of a balancing of the said parishes, helped in this by original cartographies. With patron saints inspiring the neighbourhood and processions following a well-delimited itinerary, the priests and their parishioners sometimes joined processions led by bishops, offering thus a living spirituality which is the perfect conjunction of religious time and civic time. It seems that the parish network structured and united some areas with the population living there, and by so doing gave birth to rallies full of religious fervour in this human and divine city

Texto completoTroyes is a bright artistic centre at the end of the Middle Ages. Sites are numerous. Religious buildings are ornamented with stained glasses. Who orders them? Who are the stained glass workers? From the investigation realized from the Archives and from the stained glasses, the donors, clergymen or rich persons of Troyes, opened up to innovation, remain closed to tradition. Church has a preponderant part in choosing iconography. Among the fifty-one identified stained glass workers, twenty-three can be said stained glass artists. Generally, their works are included in the sites. Probably without any statutes, their workshops are small structures. In case of important demand, the stained glass artists form associations. They worked too in numerous churches of southern Champagne. Reproduction of stained glasses, associations, absence of works property and existence of nets of donors enable to interpret the apparent homogeneity of numerous stained glasses. The notion of Stained glass School of Troyes is confirmed and specified

Texto completoApart from ancient works of local knowledge, whose data is often doubtful or inaccurate, the origins and the development of Christianity in a particular diocese have generally only been the object of brief review articles. However, the collection and collation of written, archaeological and toponymic sources allows the writing of a Christian history of the diocese of Troyes, from its origins to the end of the IXth century, an era of Viking’s invasions after which northern Gaul was the subject of deep political, social and religious changes. After establishing its geographical context, and stripping the legends left by the middle ages from the religious origins of the diocese, the analysis concerns itself first with the time period of, the setting and the participants in the first evangelization; followed by the Christian topography of the episcopal city describing the first monasteries and hermitages - witness to the widespread Christianization during the Merovingian era ; then the religious activity of the diocese during the IXth century and its place within the Christian history of northern Gaul ; and finally, the rural Christianization through the investigation of the creation of the parishes. The analysis first confined to the Christian town of Troyes, starting point of the evangelization, progresses to the diocese in order to give a picture of an expansive Christianity

Texto completoBy the late Middle Ages, the bishops of Troyes regularly visited and maintained their residences - be these the episcopal palace, their powerful castle at Aix-en-Othe with its clear military function, or their peaceful residence at Saint-Lyé, at the gates of Troyes itself. Both the interiors (layout of the rooms, furniture, kitchen equipment, rich fabrics etc. ) and the arrangement of the gardens prove that the bishops led an aristocratic life similar to that of the laymen of the time. These ancient residences - none was built after the 12th century - were often rebuilt at around the same time : first in the mid-14th century (between 1340 and 1370), then at the end of the Middle Ages (between 1480 and 1520) using local labour and materials. Such building projects highlight, beyond the interest the men took in their houses, the influence of architectural fashions on episcopal residences in Champagne

Texto completoThe illustrated manuscripts that preserve the writings of Chrétien de Troyes, Twelfth century poet and one of the first authors of Arthurian romances, may inspire new hypothesis about the practice of reading in the Middle Ages. Based on a material support like the illustrated manuscript, in which pictorial representation and written text coexist, the act of reading could have been a complex epistemological experience, that required the collaboration of different faculties –perception, imagination, memory and reason– in order to relate words with images and to extract significance from this relation. Parting from such premise, this thesis elucidates and sets forth the idea of the Arthurian hero that can be derived from an exercise like the previously described, i.e. one that relates Chretien’s conception of the Arthurian hero with the representations of the courtly knight in the miniatures. This will lead to a new way of understanding the Arthurian hero, which may explain the transformation of his nature in the medieval romances. It will also give general elements for the study of the heroic figure and its representations.

Texto completoThe analysis of the recurrences of the qualifying adjective in Chrétien de Troyes' work starts with a quantitative approach, meant to enable us to perform a qualitative examination of the unit announced by the title. The methodological principles applied are structural and comparative. On the one hand, it is a matter of isolating the adjective in the recurrent structures of Chrétien's poetical language and, on the other hand, of comparing – from the same viewpoint – his novels. Our research related to the functions of the qualifying adjective is the grammatical component of our work. What was at stake here was to prove the originality of this 12th century author, across the literary language of his time. The three aspects – namely the literary techniques, the use of highly recurrent adjectives and the symbolic dimensions of the adjectives – correspond to the leading ideas of the second part of the study. The dynamics of the Middle Ages mentalities is emphasized by the functioning of the qualifying adjective. Chrétien remains faithful to the techniques established by his predecessors and his originality is given by the sequence of units and by the creation of a different medieval world. The Appendixes are, according to us, indispensable for our critical approach, since they represent the corpus

Texto completoUntil now and probably because of the little attention given to them by our society, manners have not yet found their place either in education or in research. Nethertheless, important social issues are at stake behind their surface futility, for each individual as well as for society as a whole. From this observation, even though the present research implicitly raises behaviour in society to the rank of a science subject, its first aim is to find out what these stakes are and through which socioeducational strategies a social group perpetuates the manners that distinguish it and controls their evolutions. Therefore, relying on the analysis of the specific manners of the courtly society as they are shown in Chretien de Troyes's romances, the present research reveals that two complementary social processes are at work : the reproduction which ensures that manners are passed on to the individuals of the group and the supervision which ensures its conformity to social expectations. These two processes are at one in the social control of which they are the two dimensions. On this simple conceptual basis, we are concerned above all with the analysis of language manners and gestural manners whether they are female ones or male ones. To be more precise, we shall discover how these behaviours, which are marked with the social group's history, contribute to making men masculine and women feminine. Finally, by showing that manners work like social membership marks, this research brings to light both the necessity of their learning to ensure the inclusion of individuals in the group and its cohesion, but also the exclusion processes this learning insidiously exudes

Texto completoAt the end of the twelfth century, Chrétien de Troyes considered by many critics the greatest French poet of the so-called Middle Ages produced a narrative poem Yvain ou le Chevalier au Lion in which one perceives elements considered characteristic of the genre known as marvelous, such as magical objects and extraordinary beings, like monsters and giants. These elements among other factors led much of the criticism to see in medieval poetry, for a long time, some innocence, typical of a childhood of literature. Rejecting an evolutionary perspective, this study aims at looking at this ancient text respecting its otherness, but at the same time, bringing it to the center of current literature debates. A close look at the poem brings out the intimate relationship between the marvelous and the descriptive, main subject of the present study. Through the reading of the portrait of a monstrous peasant taken in its textuality, avoiding an artificial separation between form and content a shift is promoted in the concept of marvelous, no longer seen as a set of motifs, but as an effect of discursive operations.

Texto completoThis study is based on archival sources and oral history testimony, and it addresses two sets of questions: (1) how did class and gender interests evolve within a work culture dominated by strong class conflict in an industrial town? (2) how and why did the feminization of the labor force take place during that particular period? under the first set of questions it was important to consider the transition from a family economy to an industrial wage economy. What was the way the sexual division of labor emerged and in what ways did it change? what was the role of the socialist movement, lead by the followers of jules guesde at the turn of the century, in shaping labor struggles and women's place in them? the period studied was marked by three important strikes in 1900, 1921 and 1936. The second set of questions lead to the hypothesis that the process of feminization created the conditions for a distinct women's work culture subsumed within the dominant male culture. I examine how gendered technology and skill definitions functioned to maintain job segragation and determine the tasks given to women, including piecework at home. The representations of work, notably at the fetes de la bonneterie, constitute symbolic and historical referents for delineating masculine and feminine roles and values in this work culture. In troyes women workers felt a strong class identity and their culture gave them a positive sense of themselves until the introduction of more taylorized practices transformed production and deskilled them

Since the XI century Europe was underworing for great changes, through this changes amid one new type of literature, the novels of cavalry. These are stories told by poets of the courts, which tell the adventures of brave knights to please his beloved, the lady in most cases is the wife of his master. These narratives highlight Lancelot, the knight of the cart, where the love of Lancelot for queen Guinevere is narrated by the poet Chrétien de Troyes. For this love the knight faces, in the narrative follows, the most various adventures, the Lancelot’s love can be understood as causing a kind of madness, in his role as the rider leaves aside, even for a few moments his honor and the precepts of chivalry. Is this “crazy” love we analyzed in this work.
