Resumen
Tunable photoluminescent-functionalized carbon quantum dots CQDs@Ln (TFA)3 (Ln = Eu, Tb; TFA: trifluoroacetylacetone) were designed and synthesized by introducing lanthanide complexes into the modified CQDs surface through the carboxyl group. The as-prepared CQDs@Ln (TFA)3 emit strong blue–green light with the peak at 435 nm and simultaneously show the characteristic emission of Ln3+ under irradiation of 365 nm light in aqueous solution. Moreover, these functionalized CQDs exhibit excellent photoluminescence properties. In addition, a white luminescent solution CQDs@Eu/Tb (TFA)3 was obtained by adjusting the ratio of Eu3+/Tb3+ and the excitation wavelengths. Moreover, CQDs@Tb (TFA)3 can be utilized as a fluorescent probe for the sensitive and selective detection of MnO4− without interference from other ions in aqueous solution. These results provide the meaningful data for the multicomponent assembly and the photoluminescent-functionalized materials based on the modified CQDs and lanthanide, which can be expected to have potential application in photocatalytic or sensors.

Resumen
A simple approach has been developed to synthesize lanthanide based multifunctional magnetic-fluorescent hydrogels for cellular imaging via MRI and optical imaging synchronously. The multifunctional hydrogels are prepared by covalently conjugating gadolinium and europium chelate with biocompatible chitosan. The room temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectrum shows that the hydrogels have a strong PL emission, which is characteristic of Eu3+ transitions from the excited 5D0 to 7FJ levels. Moreover, in vitro magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis shows that the hydrogels exhibit powerful T1-weighted MRI signal in water. As a result, the hydrogels combine magnetic and fluorescent properties and can be expected to act as a promising multimodal MRI/optical imaging probe.

Resumen
Abstract Recently, lanthanide-ion-doped luminescent materials have been extensively applied as optical thermometry probes due to their fast response, non-contact and high sensitivity properties. Basing on the different responses of two emissions to temperature, the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) technique can be executed and further estimate the sensitivities to assess the optical thermometry performances. In this study, we introduce different doping concentrations of Eu3+ ions into negative thermal expansion material Sc2W3O12, accessing to the thermal enhanced luminescence from 373 to 548 K, and investigate the temperature sensing properties in detail. All samples exhibit good thermally enhanced luminescence behavior. The emission intensity of Sc2W3O12: 6 mol% Eu3+ phosphors reaches at 147.8% of initial intensity at 473 K. As the Eu3+ doping concentration increases, the resistance of the samples to thermal quenching decreases. The FIR technique based on the transitions 5D0→7F1 (592 nm) and 5D0→7F2 (613 nm) of Eu3+ ions demonstrate a maximum relative temperature sensitivity of 3.063% K-1 at 298 K for Sc2W3O12: 6 mol% Eu3+ phosphors. The sensitivity of sample decreases with the increase of Eu3+ concentration. Benefiting from the thermal enhanced luminescence performance and good temperature sensing properties, the Sc2W3O12: Eu3+ phosphors can be applied as optical thermometers.

Resumen
Supramolecular gels are soft materials consisting of a solid three-dimensional network with noncovalent interactions such as hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonding, cation-п, and п- п interactions. Due to their soft, solid-like nature, tunable properties, and easy processability, these gels have found myriad applications. Photoluminescent supramolecular hydrogels have attracted the immense attention of researchers due to their extensive application in many areas for example diagnosis, bioimaging, electronics, and analytical purpose. Lanthanide-based photoluminescent probes have been extensively studied for their unique photophysical properties including narrow emission bands, large Stokes shifts, and long excited-state lifetime. In this thesis, we have integrated lanthanides with bile salts to form supramolecular metallogels with stimuli-responsive properties, and as a matrix for sensitive detection of various small molecules. This work also presents a user-friendly, low-cost approach to sensing analytes using gel immobilized ‘paper-based sensors’ with the potential to serve as a sensitive and rapid detector of analytes. Additionally, a concise chemical strategy has been developed to obtain room temperature organic phosphorescence and delayed fluorescence in the supramolecular hydrogel system.
