Texto completoThe basic research problem of this dissertation is the selection of performance indicators in the process of developing a model of key performance indicators for the needs of governance and transparency of higher education institutions, taking into account the different needs of stakeholders in the higher education system. It was found that there are differences in the assessment of the relevance of the performance indicators among stakeholders, which provided the basis for the development of a model of key performance indicators of higher education institutions and the definition of classes of relevant indicators according to the observed differences. The contribution of the research is primarily reflected in new information for the scientific and professional public, which can be a good basis for further development in the area of key performance indicators of higher education institutions, or further improvement of the management mechanisms of these institutions.

This research focuses on human enzymes of the aldo-keto reductase superfamily, whose functions have a significant metabolic impact on organism homeostasis. Some members of the 1C aldo-keto reductase (AKR1C) subfamily play role in the development of specific pathological conditions, such as leukaemia, prostate cancer, breast cancer and endometrial cancer, as well as reducing the effectivness of chemotherapy. However, currently there are no approved and registered drugs that directly affect proteins from this subfamily. Therefore our main aim was to screen for specific ligands (substrates, inhibitors) with potential pharmacological applications, and to establish structure-activity relationships for these ligands and enzymes. This thesis mainly focuses on isoform AKR1C3. In this dissertation, optimization of an enzymatic assay and testing of potential ligands and their effects on the enzymaticactivity of specific human isoforms of proteins from subfamily AKR1C are presented. Tested ligands include synthetic steroidal compounds, commercial compounds and plant extracts. Steroid compounds, AKR-1, -2, -3, -7, -9, -19 and -22, were found to be good inhibitors of AKR1C3, and further kinetic studies were conducted. Finally, cocrystalization of protein AKR1C3 with cofactor and these inhibitors was accomplished. From 7 different complexes of protein with inhibitors, two structures were solved to very high resolution, AKR-7: 1.7 Å, AKR -19: 1.6 Å. These results represent the first protein crystal structures solved by researchers from Serbia, and results provide an excellent basis for further design and testing of new inhibitors.

Texto completoHoverflies are a very important and useful insect group. They provide irreplaceable environmental and economic services, as well as environmental services. These services are enabled by their ability to pollinate plants in natural and agroecosystems, as well as thanks to larvaepredators of aphids and other insects, reducing economic losses in the yield of cultivated plants. Hoverflies are extremely important for the environment, as they can serve as bioindicators of climate change and habitat conditions. Some species also have conservation importance, since they have become endangered due to anthropogenic effects, which requires taking measures to ensure their survival. The extraordinary richness of flora and fauna on the Balkan Peninsula represents a unique ecological and biogeographical phenomenon in Europe. Greece, as one of the most important center of biodiversity in the Balkans and in the Mediterranean, is characterized by a wide spectrum of important ecosystem types, the most important of which are forests, since the largest number of hoverflies prefer this type of habitat. The importance of faunal research is reflected in the discovery of the composition and number of species in specific habitats or areas. The faunal composition provides an insight into the biodiversity of the investigated area, which is constantly changing, especially lately under the influence of negative anthropogenic impact. Data about species can be of great importance for possible programs for the protection and recovery of endangered species, as well as in the planning of the formation of new protected areas or in the introduction of new measures of protection in already existing natural resources. Identifying endangered species or endangered habitats they inhabit plays an important role in planning conservation strategies for their conservation. The results of these thesis complement the knowledge of the fauna composition, taxonomy, distribution and diversity of hoverflies in Greece. Using the collected data, an identification key was formed to distinguish both the genera and species registered in this area, which greatly assisted in further faunistic research. As a result of these thesis a final list of 418 species rom 83 genus was obtained. Of the total number of recorded species, 64 species were first time registered in the territory of Greece, while a total of 18 species are new to science. The main goal of this paper is to revise the fauna of Greek howerflies based on the collected material from published and unpublished collections and additional field research, compile a list of all known species from Greece, and create an identification key to distinguish the recorded genera and species (accompanied by photographs and drawings of diagnostic morphological characters of adult individuals). The second part of the thesis deals with the identification of rare and endangered species of Greece with an emphasis on their protection and conservation. Within the framework of the dissertation, a spatial analysis of the distribution of species in Greece was carried out, already threatened at the European and Balkan levels, in order to determine areas of specialsignificance for their preservation.

Texto completoThis dissertation aims to demonstrate not only how African novelists in 1980-1990 promoted the image of the new African woman by continuing the feminist demands of their predecessors, but also, and foremost, to describe the pattern of their discourse, which was characterized predominantly by aesthetics of subversion of linguistic norms. This linguistic defiance mirrors their fight to invent the New African Woman, who throws off the shackles of tradition and opens herself up to universality. The corpus is composed primarily of autobiographical novelistic works by three writers who represent two geocultural macrospaces: the sub-Saharan Africa of C. Beyala and Ken Bugul, and the Maghreb of Malika Mokeddem. This study seeks, drawing on the linguistics of discourse as initiated by H. Weinrich and enriched by J. -M. Adam, D. Maingueneau, and A. Viala, to present how these creative female artists reconcile the feminine problem with the challenge of African development in such a way as to expeditiously contribute to new visibility for African literature. Transversal reading thus reveals a new place for the African woman, who is embodied in the creative space by the new woman writer participating in sociopolitical and cultural battles in order to advance a society in evolution into a promising future. The hypothesis of over-reading women’s literary works as the monotonous expression of the feminine condition is supported; the dissertation contributes, in particular, to a rehabilitation of feminine literature that has been undermined by criticism that has limited itself solely to descriptive and thematic aspects

Texto completoContemporary discourse of amateur pornography on the Internet eludes traditional interpretative schemes that associate "home" sex videos with the sex industry business. This research is based on web sites with available amateur pornographic production. In the heart of the scientific interest of the work are pornographic materials and practices of “ordinary people” in the virtual domain of cyberspace. The research is based upon the premise that the amateur pornography is specific sexual discourse. Pornography is seen as almost predominant mode of western inaugurating narrative on sex. At the same time specific research attention is given to amateur rearticulating of pornographic regime, whereby amateurism is defined as a social register of daily practices based on the act "of love".Internet is the best-known computer network system, decentralized and relatively free media technology network of communication, without hierarchy on a global level. It is a techno-social platform of "creative appropriation" of pornographic discourse by "ordinary people", as well as transfer of amateur pornography into the social phenomenon of global proportions. Social use of Web 2.0 is the core condition of possibility of amateur porn discourse proliferation and globalization. The central hypothesis of this work is that amateur pornography on the Internet is a relatively new type of narrative on sex and sexuality. The research points out that “ordinary people” pornographic practice is not of financial but rather of a sexual nature. Following this sense problem of the research is reflected in the specification of amateur pornography as a discursive discontinuity, a social fact that within the framework of postmodern culture in a relatively short time, pornography has not being considered exclusively in prior way.The research points to the social importance that current remodeling of representational politics of sex entails in terms of sexual interactions and sexual identity of its practitioners and / or protagonists and in this sense starts with the main theoretical assumption on the social nature of sexuality, socio-cultural conformation of the world of "nature". One of the central research problems could be formulated as a dilemma whether amateur productivism of enjoyment fabricate sexual entities, such as sex industry, or the alternative mode of discursive designation procedures of "real" sex also legitimize new procedures of identity self-formation and direct action of confessional "technologies of the self".Examination of amateur pornography socio-cultural aspects on the Internet is structured on several interpretative levels and is done through analytics of phenomena context, materially-affective level of practitioners and users, pornographic representations, consumer conformation of cyberspace, gender symmetry within the framework of representations and user groups, virtual communitarianism among pornographic practitioners and identity policy of sexual confession.

Texto completoIdentity constitutes one of the fundamental themes of African literature. It takes on a resonance in the writing of Senghor and Ken Bugul as well as in the writing of many Senegalese writing. It allows the establishment of an epistemological footbridge with the body. Therefore, the discourses about the body help to understand what is at stake concerning identity which livens up the dramatic tension of the narrative structures. For example, in the work of Cheikh Hamidou Kane, the body becomes the motive for a metaphysical apprehension of the "esse". In Ken Bugul’s autobiographies, the affirmation of identity of the feminine "Me" refers to the existential condition, especially when the literatures show the conflicts of gender. However, we agree that the debate on identity and the body has its importance in the understanding in the psychology of the character. It also has its importance in the construction of meaning, through which society reveals its vices and virtues. Moreover, that is why in the works of Sembene, Abasse Ndione, Sanou Lô, Marouba Fall, Seydi Sow or still El Hadji Momar Sambe, the social implication of literary discourse fragments of meaning to which all writing about the body refers. The ambition of this thesis is to construct a comparative exchange between their richness of meaning

Texto completoConfluence of sociological theories, political movements and moral philosophies regarding the situation of women in general, and within their social, political and economic context in particular, feminism has always embraced worldwide ambitions. In this resolute struggle for women liberation, feminism changed the face several times, and was often divided into trends and streams sometimes opposed to one another with regard to the meaning of the struggle to lead. How is the postcolonial African woman going to react to feminism which can be considered as one of the forms of Western imperialism having for a long time acted in the guise of a universalistic discourse of women liberation? This is the question that Ken Bugul has already asked herself. This study intends to situate Ken Bugul's feminist thought and position at the cross-section of feminist and postcolonial theories

Texto completoThis thesis presents an approach for automatically generating signing animations from a sign language notation. An avatar endowed with expressive gestures, as subtle as changes in facial expression, is used to render the sign language animations. SWML, an XML format of SignWriting is provided as input. It transcribes sign language gestures in a format compatible to virtual signing. Relevant features of sign language gestures are extracted from the SWML. These features are then converted to body animation pa- rameters, which are used to animate the avatar. Using key-frame animation techniques, intermediate key-frames approximate the expected sign language gestures. The avatar then renders the corresponding sign language gestures. These gestures are realistic and aesthetically acceptable and can be recognized and understood by Deaf people.

Texto completoAbstract
This study is based on empirical studies and the approach to this has been interviews with a group of pupils. The study investigates the use of reading strategies among pupils. The aim is to investigate how the pupils use different reading strategies in order to overcome problems that occur when reading fictional texts. In addition, the pupils were also asked some questions about their reading habits and attitudes towards reading.
Research has shown that pupils who are introduced to different reading strategies are better readers than those who are not. Reading strategies help the readers make literary texts more comprehensible. As a result of this study, it is shown that there are reading strategies that the pupils are familiar with. These strategies are of importance, since they are part of the pupils’ learning process and help them increase their reading comprehension. They also lead to the fact that the pupils gain and widen their knowledge. However, this investigation has also shown that there are important reading strategies that the pupils did not use in this study. There can be different factors that have affected the outcome of this. Therefore, it is difficult to determine whether the pupils are familiar with these strategies or not. Moreover, the pupils argued that they seldom read fiction in school and those times they read, it was literature that they did not like.

Texto completoThe study investigates to what extent the Scandinavian translators use the same methods when translating. The Danish, Norwegian and Swedish translations of the French novel L’élégance du hérisson are analyzed using Vinay and Darbelnet’s (1958/1977) methodology. In the present study the translators are also questioned about so called situational factors that might have influenced the translation process and its outcome. There is a major focus on the methods that are characterized by indirect translation, since these in a clear way indicate differences. Results show that the translators use the same methods in 42 % of the cases in the analyzed material. Results also show that the indirect translation methods are widely used in the Danish target text and it hence also distances itself the farthest from the source text, whereas the Norwegian target text is rich in litteral translation and closest to the source text.

Texto completoOur study which is focused on the French literature is titled: Real Africa and Africa dreamt in contemporary Sub-Saharan novels. The example of: “Balbala" and "Aux Etats-Unis d'Afrique" written by Waberi (A.A.); "Le Baobab fou" and "La Pièce d'or" written by Ken Bugul. The importance of this research consists in observing the process of Africa's reconfiguration in the works mentioned above. It is not only about analyzing the real, dreamt, or ambivalent Africa, it is about observing textual methods for which the passage from a real Africa to a dreamt Africa is possible and, how this back and forth of a universe that is lead in a third space can be perceived as alternative Africa that the authors of these texts aspire. Furthermore, these texts become the diagnostic tools of the failings of the society and equally help to provide preemptive solutions on the operation of the continent. To conduct this study, we used a double methodology such as the textual poetic of Gerard Genette and the interpretative semiotic revisited by Louis Hebert. At the end of ours analyses we keep in mind that in these texts the authors express an alternative Africa. They present it as she is, and also the way they would like it to be. But such vision of the world isn't it a simple utopia which falls under the unattainable ?
