Resumen
<p>Abstract<br />The morals of life are often spoken and passed down by the ancestors in the form of songs accompanied by Javanese gamelan. It was intended to maintain the quality of the civilization of the coming regeneration. This study aims to describe the values of sublime speech values in the chants of songs sung by comedians of the ludruk arts in East Java. Using a qualitative case study type approach, the source of the data is in the form of widely published documents of the July-July hymns. Verbal data collected were analyzed descriptively-qualitatively. The results of the research show that the lines of the jula-juli hymn contain substance in various fields of life. As an example, the points of civility in the global era are presented, namely (1) nationalism, (2) heroism, (3) education, and (4) security, (5) economy, and (6) religion. From these findings it can be concluded that etiquette for life needs to be taught through oral literary arts, especially songs in jula-juli so that the dynamics of regeneration remain grounded and side with the identity of the ancestor's speech.</p><p>Keywords: nation's manners, songs, jula-juli ludruk</p>

Resumen
One of the Javanese texts with esoteric value is the Ronggasutrasna Kidungan Fiber which is kept by the Surakarta Sastra Lestari Foundation. Serat Kidungan Ronggasutasna is a Javanese script in which there is a text in the form of fibers written by Sunan Kalijaga written together with Ronggasutrasna and then published by Tan Gun Swi. This manuscript is a compilation of a number of songs including Rumeksa Ing Wengi (KRIW), Padanghyangan Kidungan (and those of the dhedhemit ratuning), and other hymns. However, the KRIW text is not an original manuscript written by Sunan Kalijaga. This is evidenced by the existence of other KRIW texts in PNRI presented in handwriting. Serat Kidung Ranggasutrasna is the song of the 'kid' of old fibers which is a representation of esoteric values and Islamic symbolism of the spiritual messages of Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga. After the authors examined the contents of the text, the authors concluded that most of the Ranggasutrasna's fiber of the Kidungan text contains the magic power plan in the form of spells of rebel, repellent witchcraft, sorcery, babysitting, escaping from the bondage of debt, self defense, war ethos, worship ethos, and treatment system in Javanese culture. Fiber Kidung Ranggasutrasna belongs to the piwulang script which is presented in the form of Javanese song. Keywords: Song of Ranggasutasna; esoteric; magical power; local wisdom.

The Old Javanese language has experienced a long journey. This journey can be seen from several manuscripts that have been found. Javanese language shows a development of language from time to time. This shows that in the Old Javanese language and in the Old Javanese manuscripts there is a history. It is very important for the study of past Indonesian culture. The aim of this research is to get an overview of the development of the language stored in drama manuscripts from time to time as well as an overview of the history of the language and manuscripts as depicted in the discovered manuscripts. There are three periodization of Javanese language. Each periodization left manuscripts preserved in various places. In the manuscripts, there is also a historical background that we can see to this day. For example, the Ramayana kakawin left historical traces in the form of reliefs of Prambanan Temple that took stories from the Ramayana. This shows that the Ramayana in the past was a story that was very popular and appreciated. During the Central Java period, a type of literary work emerged that was colored with elements that were often referred to as kidung. Various materials of this hymn still take from Indian stories, but nevertheless have undergone modifications. Because of their vastness and long distances, the current manuscripts require a rescue conservation.

Resumen
Keris is one of the cultural products in the form of a dagger originating from Java. Keris is still made today as can be seen in Besalen Buwana Aji Kalingga which is owned by Empu Afrizal Fadli Azizi, S.Kom.I. He uses various processions including uttering mantras containing cultural meaning that form a series of verbal and non-verbal communication patterns. This attracts researchers to examine the patterns more deeply through an ethnography of communication approach to analyze the forms and patterns of communication that occur in the ageman kerises making process in Besalen Buwana Aji Kalingga. The descriptive qualitative study was conducted using the theory of communication patterns from Dell Hymes. The researcher found that prayers and mantras in the ageman kerises making process have a distinctive communication pattern, greeting-thankful-begging for a prayer at the wiwitan stage and greeting-declaration at the pembabaran stage. Furthermore, there is assimilation between Arabic and Javanese, a characteristic of the register of spelling language in Javanese culture. This happened because of the efforts to spread and introduce Islam in the past. Now, it has become a tradition in Javanese culture.

Resumen
This article takes as a point of departure the first Sanskrit verse of the Sanskrit-Old Javanese Śaiva scripture Bhuvanakośa, which has come down to us in Balinese palm-leaf manuscripts. It argues that this verse forms an introductory hymn (maṅgala or stuti) praising Śiva and, at the same time, revealing the identity of the compiler of the text—whether genuine or fictively attributed ex post—through a “signature” expressed by means of a Sanskrit word hinting at the name Tanakuṅ, an author of Old Javanese literary and religious works who lived in the 15th century. It then elaborates on the socio-historical and religious background of that period, and links the figure of Tanakuṅ and the texts ascribed to him to Ḍaṅ Hyaṅ Nirartha, an important Balinese religious figure who is believed to have been active on the island between the late 15th and early 16th century.

Resumen
The era of modernization of social media has always been associated with teenagers, especially those on Facebook. This social media can be used as a medium to show their existence. The language used for communication interactions varies. The purpose of this study is to identify the choice of language codes used by students in the Islamic Modern Assalaam Islamic Boarding School in Indonesia in their communication interactions. This research is a qualitative in nature. The data under investigation are students’ conversations on Facebook, which are particularly related to the choice of codes. Data collection includes observation, field notes, and interviews. This research analysis employs the components of the Hymes (SPEAKING) speech. The research results demonstrate that the choice of language codes used by students to communicate in social media involves Indonesian, Arabic, English, and Javanese. The development of technology can make communication effective for students. Besides, that can drive the changes in behavior and language they use. The significance of this research is that there are bilingualism/multilingualism phenomena through the use of Indonesian, Arabic, and English, which is proven not to shift the local language (Javanese), let alone destroying local language as a mother tongue.

Resumen
Kidung is Balinese ritual hymn or canticle, typically recited in a homophonic choir by a grop of local singers based on a pre-existing text to accompany religious celebrations. Selected lyric of kidung verse is deliberately recited for a number of ritual reasons. The role of kidung is to complete the ritual and religious celebration as the fifth Gita. The four related ritual gitas or sacred sounds include the sound of symbolic narrative forms (Swara Yantra Abinaya) of wayang puppetry, infused with edification and devine philosophy; the sound of Gamelan music accompanying temple dances (may it be a female Rejang dance, Makerab dance, Sutri, Pendet dance, or male Baris warrior dance, Sandaran dance, etc.); the sound of Kulkul wooden bell, and the sound of Veda / mantra incantation recited by the temple priest, who invariably leads the ritual ceremony. Kidung hymn and gamelan music together create Vadyagita. The dance and the mantra incantation together create Nertya Puja, which creates devine matrix of the on-going ritual ceremony. Almost no Hindu-Balinese religious ceremony (yadnya) is complete without kidung singing with lyrics drawn from Middle Javanese literature. Kidung is used for the panca yadnya (five ceremonies) namely: dewa yadnya (for god), bhuta yadnya (lower spirit), rsi yadnya (for priest), pitra yadnya (for ancestor), and manusa yadnya (for human), with the appropriate kidung text selection. This singing supports the solemnity of spiritual practice of singers and listeners, perfecting the ceremony as an offering of expressive communication.

Resumen
Language plays a significant part in shaping and influencing people’s perspectives on societies and on political sectors, especially in an inaugural speech. Inaugural speech is one of the powerful tools to notify the people of the purposes as a leader. Hence, the researchers aimed to analyze the inaugural speeches of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in 2004 and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in 2019 regarding their rhetoric and schematic words in their speeches during their tenure served as the Indonesian President. To uncover their inaugural speeches, the researchers used the theoretical frameworks proposed by Hymes (1974, cited in Eaton, 2019), where he developed the analysis of the connection between a language and a broader feature, such as macro- and micro-linguistics analysis. However, the key purpose of concern still marks a language presenting equality between linguistic and social perspectives. The study revealed that SBY and Jokowi mostly used polite words, a low, moderate voice, and tended to appreciate their rivals when giving their inaugural speeches respectively in 2004 and 2019. The difference in macro and micro-linguistics features assert that these two national figures have different traits even though they are from the same ethnic group, the Javanese. Further, this study suggested some pedagogical implications for English teachers to implement the potential benefits of macro- and micro-linguistics analysis of inaugural speeches for the language classroom. It can bridge a gap between language teaching and practical English use in society.

Resumen
The concept of God written in "Serat Kidungan Kawedhar" by Sunan Kalijaga is interesting enough to be studied by devotees of Javanese philosophy. Such as the concept of God written in this Serat, particularly regarding the existence of God as "Sangkan Paran" which makes this Serat needs to be reviewed and examined. There are two main problems in this study; concerning the concept of God as Sangkan Paraning Dumadi in the Serat Kidungan Kawedhar and the teachings of the concept of God in Serat Kidungan Kawedhar for todays people life. With a descriptive method, content analysis and verstehen, this research shows that God described in "Serat Kidungan Kawedhar" is called Hartati which is a form of God's manifestation within humans. While to ease the preaching of the messages, it named God by Sang Hyang Guru and Sang Hyang Hayyu. As the depiction of God "Ngadeg Pangawak Teja" which means standing upright with the light, or God is the light path for human life. This Serat is a hymn used by Sunan Kalijaga in Islamizing Java. Furthermore, it contains religious values regarding the seeking of God as a Creator and paths to be united towards God (manunggal marang Gusti). Moreover, Sunan Kalijaga also said in this Serat that humans must be able to understand themselves and their purposes of life by applying tepa slira and keep caring for God through Dhikr, because it will make people closer to God.
