Texto completoThe theory of Siegel modular forms gives us a lot of applications in arithmetic, algebraic geometry and more recently in physics. The subject of this dissertation is motivated bv the construction of a three-dimensional analogue of the eta function of Dedekind, problem arisen in the theory of Lorentzian KacMoody Lie algebras, algebraic geometrv and also in string theory Such modular forms have been bullt bv V Gntsenko and V Nikulin betw\een 1995- 1998 for the full paramodular groups. ln this dissertation, wc answer to this problem for congruence subgroups of paramodular groups we obtain a complete classification of thc Siegel modular forms with the simplest divisor and we produce ail of them. We called them dd-forms (modular forms with diagonal diyisor) Our solution is based on the use of Jacobi forms and two types of liftings. ln 1979, H. Maass proposed a construction of Siegel modular forms by using Jacobi forms of index one. ln 1993, V Gritsenko generalized this construction to Jacobi forms of index t. We generalize these ones to congruence subgroups of SL(2;Z). ln this way, we obtain Siegel modular forms for subgroups of the full paramodular groups. We call such a construction artthmetlc lifting. Then we construct a multiplicative lifting or Borcherds' automorphic product by using nearly holomorphic Jacobi forms of weight 0 and index t for congruence subgroups of Heeke type Gamma0(N). This construction generalizes the one proposed bv V Gritsenko and V Nlkulln in 1998 The dd-forms are retlectives modular forms.Thev have allowed us new proofs of the structure of some graded rings of modular forms

Texto completoThis thesis consists of two independent parts. In the first part we develop an approach based on the theory of Jacobi forms of lattice index to classify reflective modular forms on lattices of arbitrary level. Reflective modular forms have applications in algebraic geometry, Lie algebra and arithmetic. The classification of reflective modular forms is an open problem and has been investigated by Borcherds, Gritsenko, Nikulin, Scheithauer and Ma since 1998. In this part, we establish new necessary conditions for the existence of a reflective modular form. We prove non-existence of reflective modular forms and 2-reflective modular forms on lattices of large rank. We also give a complete classification of 2-reflective modular forms on lattices containing two hyperbolic planes. The second part is devoted to the study of Weyl invariant $E_8$ Jacobi forms. This type of Jacobi forms has significance in Frobenius manifolds, Gromov--Witten theory and string theory. In 1992, Wirthm\"{u}ller proved that the space of Jacobi forms for any irreducible root system not of type $E_8$ is a polynomial algebra. But very little has been known about the case of $E_8$. In this paper we show that the bigraded ring of Weyl invariant $E_8$ Jacobi forms is not a polynomial algebra and prove that every such Jacobi form can be expressed uniquely as a polynomial in nine algebraically independent Jacobi forms introduced by Sakai with coefficients which are meromorphic $\SL_2(\ZZ)$ modular forms. The latter result implies that the space of Weyl invariant $E_8$ Jacobi forms of fixed index is a free module over the ring of $\SL_2(\ZZ)$ modular forms and that the number of generators can be calculated by a generating series. We determine and construct all generators of small index. These results give a proper extension of the Chevalley type theorem to the case of $E_8$

Texto completoThe following thesis falls into three parts. Although they are all closely related to random matrix theory, each of these possesses its own particular concern. The first part deals with some of the existing links between eigenvalues of Gaussian random matrices, non-colliding processes and the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth correspondence. The second part tackles the subject of extensions to symmetric matrices of some classical one-dimensional diffusion processes, namely the Bessel squared processes and the Jacobi processes. Then, the third part hinges round the exit time of Brownian motion from regions which are the fundamental domains associated with finite or affine reflection groups in Euclidian space

Texto completoThe first example of quasi modular forms is the G2 Eisenstein serie which is a quasimodular form for SL(2,Z) and which is very important for quasi modular forms structure. In particular, these forms appear when we study Taylor expansions of Jacobi forms with respect to abelian variable. In this thesis, we describe new quasi modular forms : quasi modular forms for SL(2,Z)× SL(2,Z), quasi modular forms for orthogonal groups. The first ones are associated to Taylor expansion of Siegel modular forms. The second ones appear when we study Taylor coefficients of modular forms for a lattice of signature (2, n) around somes points. We give some definite calculus in the case of Siegel modular forms by giving the first coefficients of Taylor expansion around z = 0 of fundamental modular forms 1/2(Siegel theta serie of characteristic 2) the 1, 2 functions, the 5 and 35 functions (which are the Igusa modular forms) and some other reflective functions introduced by V.Gritsenko and V.Nikulin in the theory of hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras. .These modular forms are usefull in algebric geometry (theory of moduli spaces of abelian surfaces and Kummer surfaces) and in physics (string theory). Taylor expansions of modular forms for the orthogonal groups O(2, n) are very usefull in the theory of moduli spaces of polarized K3 surfaces for example

Texto completoParametric image alignment is a fundamental task of many vision applications such as object tracking, image mosaicking, video compression and augmented reality. To recover the motion parameters, direct image alignment works by optimizing a pixel-based difference measure between a moving image and a fixed-image called template. In the last decade, many efficient algorithms have been proposed for parametric object tracking. However, those approaches have not been evaluated for aligning images of low SNR (Signal to Noise ratio) such as images captured in low-light conditions. In this thesis, we propose a new formulation of image alignment called Bidirectional Framework for unifying existing state of the art algorithms. First, this framework allows us to produce new insights on existing approaches and in particular on the ESM (Efficient Second-order Minimization) algorithm. Subsequently, we provide a theoretical analysis of image noise on the alignment process. This yields the definition of two new approaches : the ACL (Asymmetric Composition on Lie Groups) algorithm and the BCL (Bidirectional Composition on Lie Groups) algorithm, which outperform existing approaches in presence of images of different SNR. Finally, experiments on synthetic and real images captured under low-light conditions allow to evaluate the new and existing approaches under various noise conditions

French composer Poulenc(1899-1963) occupies a very important position in the art song writing in the twentieth century. Poulenc’s early four groups of works, Cocardes(1915), Poèmes de Ronsard(1924-25), Cinq Poèmes de Max Jacob(1930) and Trois Poèmes de Louise Lalanne(1930) are discussed in this thesis. Except Poèmes de Ronsard, which was adopted from Pierre de Ronsard’s(1524-1585) poetry, the remaining three groups are adoptions of famous contemporary poets’ works. Cocardes was made by Jean Cocteau(1889-1963), Cinq Poèmes de Max Jacob was made by Max Jacob(1876-1944), and Trois Poèmes de Louise Lalanne was made by Guillaume Apollinaire(1880 -1918) and Marie Laurencin(1885-1956). From the four groups of musical compositions, we can find that Poulenc likes short musical forms, and there is no prelude in most of them. So far as melody is concerned, Poulenc likes to use distinctive and varied motives to link the whole song. Poulenc often uses semitone intervals which produce special sound effects as well. The key signatures in these sixteen art songs were modulated frequently, and many accidentals were used. Therefore, the writer of the thesis infers that Poulenc used key signatures just for the convenience of taking down the notation. The harmony iv was made depends on the atmosphere of the poems. The rhythm is free and he often modulated the time signatures to harmony with the poems, present the prosody of poems, or to change the atmospheres. The piano accompaniment often repeats the melody of the song. This is one of the important features of Poulenc’s art songs. Because Poulenc likes to use discordant sounds effects and temporary accidentals, singers who want to sing his works need to have good sense of pitch. Due to the short structures of his songs, the singers need to get into the situations of the songs quickly and change their mood and tone rapidly as well to create the atmospheres that Poulenc wants.
