Abstract Although fall-reducing physical activity (PA) interventions have promising effects on falls, little is known about the relative effects of different PA promotion strategies within such interventions. This trial assessed the effects of two promotion components within a PA intervention on participants’ falls 12 months post-intervention. The components included interpersonally-oriented (e.g., social support, social comparison) or intrapersonally-oriented (e.g., goal-setting, action planning) behavior change strategies informed by empirical evidence and theory. This study investigates the association between attachment insecurity and flexibility in using interpersonal versus intrapersonal ER in response to daily stressors in romantic relationships. Self-awareness of students in the context of intrapersonal communication refers to an individual's ability to understand, recognize, and respond effectively to their own thoughts, feelings, and personal reflections. This involves a deep understanding of their values, beliefs, goals, emotions, and self-motivation. Student self-awareness in intrapersonal communication also includes the ability to recognize how internal factors such as attitudes, perceptions, and worldviews influence their perception of the external world, social interactions, and decision-making. The multidimensional construct of body image is an established risk factor related to numerous maladaptive outcomes. Examining the role of the body in self-destructive behaviours, Orbach (1996) theorized that negative bodily experiences and attitudes reduce self-preservative attitudes, and foster the development of detachment and hatred associated with the body, facilitating the likelihood of engaging in self-destructive behaviours. Orbach's theoretical perspective has been validated among self-destructive acts such as disordered eating behaviours, suicidal ideation, and suicidal behaviours.
