Resumen

AbstractWe give a framework for combining n monads on the same category via distributive laws satisfying Yang–Baxter equations, extending the classical result of Beck which combines two monads via one distributive law. We show that this corresponds to iterating n-times the process of taking the 2-category of monads in a 2-category, extending the result of Street characterising distributive laws. We show that this framework can be used to construct the free strict n-category monad on n-dimensional globular sets; we first construct for each i a monad for composition along bounding i-cells, and then we show that the interchange laws define distributive laws between these monads, satisfying the necessary Yang–Baxter equations.

Resumen

Narratives of commercial gestational surrogacy (CGS) as ‘baby-selling’ often conflate or interchange the transfer of children born via surrogacy with trafficking in children or the sale of children, two sometimes overlapping but nonetheless distinct offenses. Moreover, anti-trafficking laws have been used to police cross-border CGS. But when do CGS arrangements fall within the category of legitimate ‘reproductive tourism’ and when do they amount to child trafficking? In this paper I critically explore intersections between human trafficking laws and CGS, vis-à-vis the child, charting the relevant trafficking laws in the context of international surrogacy, and analysing whether trafficking laws are an appropriate mechanism through which to regulate CGS. I conclude that while child trafficking might occur via surrogacy, CGS in itself is not child trafficking under international law.

Our results imply that such a tensor product is always a free 𝕊-module, in contrast with the results of Kock and Bremner–Madariaga on hidden commutativity for the Boardman–Vogt tensor square of the operad of non-unital associative algebras.

Resumen

What is presently known about the supervision of psychotherapy is described from a systems point of view. Supervision is conceptualized as a dynamic interchange between two individuals whose differing sets of expectations can profoundly affect the process. The authors propose that the supervisory relationship is best understood as a social learning system, with its own characteristic structure, rules of organization, hierarchical order and mode of extracting influence. Research reports on the supervisory process are also reviewed. Finally, given the emphasis placed on the supervised practice of psychotherapy by training programs, certification requirements and licensure laws, the need for further investigation is emphasized.

AbstractA magma (M, *) is a nonempty set with a binary operation. A double magma (M, *, •) is a nonempty set with two binary operations satisfying the interchange law (w * x) • (y * z) = (w • y)*(x•z). We call a double magma proper if the two operations are distinct, and commutative if the operations are commutative. A double semigroup, first introduced by Kock, is a double magma for which both operations are associative. Given a non-trivial group G we define a system of two magma (G, *, •) using the commutator operations x * y = [x, y](= x−1 y−1x y) and x • y = [y, x]. We show that (G, *, •) is a double magma if and only if G satisfies the commutator laws [x, y; x, z] = 1 and [w, x; y, z]2 = 1. We note that the first lawdefines the class of 3-metabelian groups. If both these laws hold in G, the double magma is proper if and only if there exist x0, y0 ∊ G for which [x0 , y0]2 ≠ 1. This double magma is a double semigroup if and only if G is nilpotent of class two. We construct a specific example of a proper double semigroup based on the dihedral group of order 16. In addition, we comment on a similar construction for rings using Lie commutators.

Resumen

The authors study legal loop-holes in the archival legislation. As it is impossible to analyze the whole of archival legislation, including regional laws and regulations of all subjects of Russia, the article focuses on the Federal law. It draws on practices of the Archival Agency of the Kurgan Region and addresses practical concerns. It analyzes inconsistencies and legal loop-holes in implementation of following three laws: the Federal law of October 22, 2004 no. 125-FZ ‘On archiving in the Russian Federation,’ the Federal law of 26 December, 2008 no. 294-FZ ‘On protection of rights of legal persons and self-employed entrepreneurs in the exercise of state control (supervision) and municipal control,’ and the Federal law of April 5, 2013 no. 44-FZ ‘On contract systems in the sphere of procurement of goods, works and services for provisioning governmental and municipal needs.’ The study has identified the following legal loop-holes and inconsistencies: (1) There is a legal loop-hole in implementation of the control function. No clear demarcation of jurisdictions of the Russian Federation and those of the subjects of the Russian Federation is provided in Federal laws no. 294-FZ and no. 125-FZ; (2) There is a contradiction between Federal laws no. 125-FZ and no. 44-FZ. In case of winding-up of a state procurement agency and transferring its powers to a government agency, documents on primary activity are to be filed in a state archive and also to remain in the new government agency; (3) Lack of uniform and federally approved methodology for division of ownership of archival documents between municipalities and subjects of the Russian Federation result in similar documents falling under different forms of ownership in different regions; (4) Lack of regulatory framework in acquisition and transfer of e-documents to state archives hinders introduction of a full-featured e-document interchange between state authorities. The authors contend that these legal loop-holes and inconsistencies should be corrected.

Resumen

Based on the research of interlayer-gliding structures in Panbei and Panji No.1 coal mine that are located in the each wing of Panji anticline, the Panji mining area is divided into 9 main interlayer-gliding areas and 29 sub-regions. The results indicate that the interlayer-gliding structures mainly developed in the anticline wings, which show obvious symmetry at the type and distribution. The types of the interlayer-gliding structures are fault-sliding and corrugation type in the wings and fracture type in the core area. The type and manifestation of the interlayer-gliding structures also show symmetry in the similar depth. From up to down, the interlayer-gliding type show obvious regularity that fracture type is mainly developed in the shallow area, down is fault-sliding type and corrugation type is mainly developed in the deep or the interchange of the faults. Take fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the inter-gliding structure in west area of Panji No.1 coal mine. The results showed that the results from using fuzzy comprehensive assessment were similar with the results exposed by coal mine. Good effects were obtained for predicting the development intensity of the seam-gliding structure in deep unmined areas in combination with geological conditions of coal mine, providing references for production arrangement of coal mine.

Le but de cette thèse est de fournir une construction explicite d'une résolution cofibrante des opérades de Balteanu-Fiedorowicz-Schwänzl-Vogt M_n, qui régissent les catégories monoidales itérées.Dans une première partie de la thèse, nous examinons en détail la définition des structures monoïdales dans les 2-catégories, ainsi que la définition des opérades dans les 2-catégories monoïdales, en prenant la 2-catégorie des catégories comme exemple principal. Ensuite, nous démontrons que la catégorie des opérades dans la catégorie des petites catégories hérite d'une structure de modèle par transfert de la structure de modèle folk sur la catégorie des petites catégories. Nous introduisons une notion de présentation polygraphique des opérades dans la catégorie des petites catégories afin de définir des opérades en terme de générateurs et relations à la fois dans la direction opératique et dans la direction catégorique au niveau des morphismes. Nous réexaminons la définition des opérades M_n en termes de présentations polygraphiques, et nous donnons une présentation de l'opérade M_1^infinity qui fournit une résolution cofibrante de l'opérade M_1 dans la structure de modèle folk. Enfin, nous étudions une généralisation du produit tensoriel de Boardman-Vogt dans le contexte des opérades dans la catégorie des catégories. The goal of this thesis is to give an effective construction of a cofibrant resolution of the Balteanu-Fiedorowicz-Schwänzl-Vogt operads M_n, which govern iterated monoidal categories.In a first part of the thesis, we study thoroughly the definition of monoidal structures in 2-categories, and the definition of operads in monoidal 2-categories, with the 2-category of categories as a main motivating example. Then we prove that the category of operads in the category of small categories inherits a model structure by transfer of the folk model structure on the category of small categories. We introduce a notion of polygraphic presentation of operads in the category of small categories in order to define operads with generators and relations in both the operadic direction and the categorical direction at the morphism level. We revisit the definition of the operads M_n in terms of polygraphic presentations, and we gives a presentation of an operad M_1^infinity that provides a cofibrant resolution of the operad M_1 in the folk modelstructure. Eventually, we study a generalization of the Boardman-Vogt tensor product in the context of operads in the category of small categories. We use this construction to provide a cofibrant resolution M_n^infinity of the operad M_n from the resolution M_1^infinity of M_1, and hence, to address the initial question of the thesis

Resumen

Lease, charter and interchange have become more and more important throughout the last decades. The International Civil Aviation Organization could not ignore that reality. In 1980 after a long preparatory work Article 83bis, an amendment to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation was adopted by the 23rd Assembly without any negative votes. Yet, in 1990, this amendment, which enables the State of Registry, which is responsible for the operation of the aircraft even if flying with an operator of another state, to transfer its functions and duties to the State of the Operator.
This thesis takes a closer look on the history of that amendment. The reasons why Article 83bis is still not in force shall also be discussed. An attempt shall further be made to analyze the provisions of Article 83bis more thoroughly and to explain why states should no longer hesitate to ratify that amendment. Article 83bis has no controversial content and is very important for the safety of international air transportation, in establishing clearly who is responsible for a leased, chartered or interchanged aircraft.

La digitalización de la información ha permitido comunicarse de un modo prácticamente instantáneo independientemente de la distancia. Este hecho, junto con el hundimiento de los sistemas económicos comunistas, ha sido el caldo de cultivo para el fenómeno conocido como globalización. La mezcla de ambos factores, que ha supuesto una eliminación física de las distancias geográficas y temporales, ha cambiado radicalmente el modo de comprender las relaciones personales y económicas en todos los niveles y ángulos comprensibles. Este cambio de paradigma también ha incidido, inevitablemente, sobre los sistemas fiscales. Los legisladores han tenido que modificar las normas clásicas de lucha contra el fraude y la evasión para hacer frente a los retos que plantea la nueva realidad digital en este ámbito. Así pues, esta tesis doctoral pretende abordar la evolución de los modelos de intercambio de información con fines tributarios y su encaje respecto a los derechos y garantías de los contribuyentes que pueden verse afectados en los procedimientos de intercambio de información.
The digitalization of information allowed the communication in a practically instantaneous way, regardless of distance. This fact, together with the collapse of the communist economic systems, has been the breeding ground of for the phenomenon known as Globalization. The mix of both factors, that supposed the erasure of geographical and temporary distances, has radically changed the way of understanding personal and economic relations in all comprehensible levels and angles. This change of paradigm has inevitably underscored the tax systems as well. Legislators have had to modify the classical norms to counteract tax fraud and evasion, in order to face the challenges posed by the new digital reality in this playing field. Therefore, this PhD Thesis expects to tackle the evolutions of the models to exchange information for tax purposes and how they fit regarding the rights and guarantees of the taxpayers that might be affected on the exchange of information procedures.
La digitalització de la informació ha permès comunicar-se d’una manera pràcticament instantània independentment de la distància. Aquest fet, juntament amb l’esfondrament dels sistemes econòmics comunistes, ha estat el caldo de cultiu per el fenomen conegut com a globalització. La barreja d’ambdós factors, que ha suposat una eliminació física de les distàncies geogràfiques i temporals, ha canviat radicalment el mode de comprendre les relacions personals i econòmiques en tots els nivells i angles comprensibles. Aquest canvi de paradigma també ha incidit, inevitablement, sobre els sistemes fiscals. Els legisladors han hagut de modificar les normes clàssiques de lluita contra el frau i l’evasió per fer front als reptes que planteja la nova realitat digital en aquest àmbit. Així, doncs, aquesta tesis doctoral pretén abordar l’evolució dels models d’intercanvi d’informació amb finalitats tributàries i el seu encaix respecte dels drets i garanties els contribuents que es poden veure afectats en els procediments d’intercanvi d’informació.

AbstractThe aim of this study is to provide research performing organisations and research funding organisations (RPOs and RFOs) with practical advice on how to engage in an effective RRI institutionalisation. Therefore, we first looked at the most relevant drivers, challenges, and the most beneficial good practices potentially affecting RRI institutionalisation within RPOs and RFOs across Europe through a multi-step, multi-stakeholder consultation approach. The broad set of drivers, barriers and good practices identified at the consultation was methodologically divided into structural, cultural and interchange-related aspects. These aspects can theoretically exercise a positive or negative impact on the RRI institutionalisation, and their validity was tested in Living Labs by six organisations. By categorising these six implementers in terms of RRI readiness we were able to identify key factors and describe specific organisational circumstances conducive to a successful adoption and use of RRI principles and practices for three organisational types of RPOs/RFOs.

This chapter explores the intersections between intellectual property (IP) and privacy law. It notes that while the scope of what we may consider to be ‘intellectual property’ continues to expand to cover new creative and innovative practices, so too the meaning and scope of what we may consider to be ‘privacy’—traditionally understood as allowing the individual to enjoy a private sphere free from the public gaze—has come under pressure to expand to address new situations where loss of control over personal information and incursions on personal identity are seen to undermine human dignity and liberty. Thus ‘privacy’ and ‘intellectual property’ become ever more imbricated in our modern digital world, and we can expect to see ever more interchange between the laws that regulate these domains.

Abstract The syntactic calculus, also known as ‘ bidirectional categorial grammar’, is a kind of logic without any structural rules, other than the obligatory reflexive law and cut-rule. It had been inspired by multilinear algebra and non-commutative ring theory and was developed with applications to linguistics in mind. Here we shall confine attention to the associative version, although a non-associative version has also been studied [L 1961, Kandulski 1988, Došen 1988, 1989]. It differs from a very rudimentary form of Girard’s linear logic [Girard 1987, 1989] by the absence of the interchange rule which licenses commutativity. Because of its roots in non-commutative algebra and syntax, all appearance of commutativity is forbidden. The notation, which goes back to a pre-historic collaboration with George Findlay, was carefully chosen to reflect this absence of commutativity: the order of two letters was never to be wantonly interchanged, yet all rules were to be preserved under left-right symmetry, the guiding slogan being ‘ symmetry without commutativity’. It must be admitted, however, that the notation, proposed for linguistics [L 1958] and ring theory [L 1966], caught on in neither field (with some recent exceptions in linguistics).

Resumen

Este relato describe la experiencia de un taller de arquitectura realizado por DAS GROUP, que reunió un grupo de estudiantes (curso de arquitectura y urbanismo UNIFRA – Brasil), en la Fundación Enric Miralles, en principios de 2013. El estudio pretende analizar la importancia de las pequeñas intervenciones urbanísticas como medio de transformación y cambio de significado de un lugar específico. También trata de observar la contribución de este tipo de práctica a la enseñanza de la arquitectura considerando las diferencias culturales de los intercambios. Los talleres de arquitectura son una forma de contribuir en la enseñanza sobre todo por aproximarse a un ambiente de ensayo y de experimentación, una práctica también válida como intercambio de culturas arquitectónicas distintas (ni siempre nuevas). Tratase de una oportunidad de renunciar, aún que por un momento, las metodologías habituales y otras aportaciones. This article describes an architecture workshop experience organized by DAS GROUP and Fundación Enric Miralles, for architectural students from the south of Brazil (architecture degree-UNIFRA). This investigation analyses the importance of the small urban interventions to transform a specific place. The study also observes the efforts for this kind of practices considering the different architectonic processes between different cultures and how this kind of interchanges works. It’s an opportunity to learn new methodologies.

It has not been generally appreciated that the erbium-doped fibre amplifier1 (EDFA) has both a saturation output power which increases with pump power, as well as an ability to operate deep in saturation without signal distortion and interchannel crosstalk2. The latter is a consequence of its slow gain dynamics and is quite different from diode-amplifier behaviour3. Most investigations of the gain-characteristics of EDFAs to date have concentrated on the small input signal regime and attempted to obtain high unsaturated gain for low-pump powers4,5, an attribute which is required for an in-line amplifier. By contrast, in this paper we discuss the application of EDFAs as power (post) amplifiers where the input signal is large and the amplifier saturation behaviour outlined above can be exploited. In the highly-saturated regime we have obtained near-quantum-limited differential pump to signal conversion efficiencies, resulting in 47mW (16.7dBm) of amplified signal for only l00mW of pump power at 978nm. Operating in this mode EDFAs are attractive for application as power amplifiers to ease power budget restrictions in point-to-point digital links, video distribution networks6 and LANs.

Abstract Established or create new ones to plan the cleaning tasks of the heat exchangers. In this work, a maintenance strategy is developed for a preheating train under the Maintenance Centered on Energy Efficiency (MCEE) philosophy, where it is sought to integrate the information of the principles of the second law of thermodynamics with economic variables to use parameters. The modification of the maintenance justification parameter (J) is proposed, adding to the introduction of two new maintenance indicators (W and X). Each one seeks to evaluate an essential criterion for the maintenance area: economic viability, technical feasibility, and benefits. Towards the other exchangers in the network after cleaning a specific component. A criticality diagram and a criticality matrix are used. The heat exchangers are grouped into sub-assemblies, with the leading group consisting of the key heat exchangers (KHEX), the elements of which have a significant impact on the efficiency of the preheat train. For their part, the regions are composed of components whose performance is less considerable than that of the KHEX. In total, 34 maintenance activities will be carried out, distributed among the 25 interchanges of the network. The planning of a program of cleaning activities according to the maintenance strategy based on the philosophy of the MCEE establishes a substantial scientific contribution due to the almost null existence of exergetic studies applied to the management of maintenance tasks and focused mainly on the preheating of trains.

Resumen

Recently, the emerging interest in the study of public space and its urban dimensions associated with mobility has been enlivened and enriched; from Jane Jacobs (1961), Jean Gehl (2010) and others, to the most recent planning models such as the "superblock" or the "complete street" and tactical urbanism as an intentional guide to the planning of public space in cities. This research seeks to make clear that both, public space and urban mobility, cannot be confronted as two concepts, but rather, it suggests to face them as a new model to understand what happens between them when they coincide in a tempo-spatial point in the territory and follow the pattern of modal interchange making them potential elements of attraction, exchange, quality and transition around the public transport stations of the L1 of the Urban Electric Train in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, México. Cartagena de Indias nowadays presents a deterioration in the urban structure (physical structure) and vital structure (activity), which can be seen in a general panorama of the city and punctually in the Bazurto market sector, in response, the District Administration proposes as a solution to move the market. The objective of this Final Master's Thesis (TFM) is to identify the problems of deterioration and formulate guidelines for the urban strategic planning of the Bazurto market sector, through the application of the principles of Traffic-Oriented Development (DOT) and the strategies of the Mobility Management (TDM), in order to carry out a partial transfer of the Bazurto market, that is, to leave part of the market with an occupation directly proportional to the available space occupied by the original building inaugurated in 1978, and turn it into a sectorial and tourist retail market, articulated with new uses, public space and an interchange for the integrated multimodal public transport system. Abstract Log and core data has been collected in the mature supergiant fields of the Middle East over many decades with variable data quality and vintages. These data could be affected by artifacts created by borehole conditions, different logging tools, water- or oil-based mud systems, and different processing parameters. The data are frequently lacking traceability to borehole/experiment conditions required to apply appropriate and consistent corrections for further modeling workflows. As a result, petrophysicists must perform substantial log, core quality control (QC) and editing prior to interpreting logs or using core data. The purpose of this paper is to discuss machine-learning (ML) applications grouped in the solution to automatically QC and process core and log data for hundreds of wells. The goal was to detect poor data and outliers to apply corrections that mimic human-led interpretation for at least 80 to 90% of the data processed. For several data sets and cases, ML was successfully used to various aspects of log editing. (Akkurt et al. 2018; Liang et al. 2019; Mawlod et al. 2019; Singh et al. 2020). However, as a result of our 2020 study, we discovered numerous lessons that are addressed in this work: Geological and geospatial information are potentially as valuable as well data and cannot be overlooked by any ML algorithm working with well data at the field scale.ML algorithms are more efficient than human-led data processing and can produce more accurate and consistent outcomes. However, the parameter selection and QC of outcomes require an expert assessment. Thus, ML-based applications cannot be "black boxes" and must include a user-interaction toolbox for efficient workflow control.To deliver a more efficient solution in terms of performance over large data sets, the full capacity of cloud-based technologies should be utilized, thereby enabling the parallelization of operations while simultaneously constructing and analyzing multiple solution scenarios. In the current work, we developed an ML application to QC core and well log data to perform log editing (artifact correction) and missing log prediction using other available data. The ML application is guided by petrophysical domain expertise and advanced data-driven algorithms to perform complex data homogenization and predictions for hundreds of wells using a cloud-based environment. The application may communicate with a wellbore platform project and read data from separate files in the log ASCII standard (LAS) and digital log interchange standard (DLIS) formats. The ML application will significantly save time and effort to eliminate repetitive human tasks. The cloud-based implementation, when combined with existing petrophysical platforms, enables the highest performance and data exchange between the different software platforms. Interactive and user-friendly dashboards will provide the geoscientists with complete control over each step of the ML data-driven workflow.
