Resumen
Background. Although poor language test performance has been documented in schizophrenia, its relationship to formal thought disorder remains unclear.Method. Forty schizophrenic patients were administered eight language tests and, under blind conditions, rated for formal thought disorder. Measures of general intellectual function were also obtained.Results. Performance on all language tests was significantly correlated with the general intellectual measures. Three language test scores also showed significant correlations with formal thought disorder scores. Multiple regression and analysis of intellectually preserved patients suggested particular associations of formal thought disorder with semantic comprehension and picture description.Conclusions. General intellectual impairment is an important determinant of poor language test performance in schizophrenia, but presence of formal thought disorder may also contribute. A higher-order semantic deficit may be particularly relevant to both linguistic impairment and formal thought disorder.

Resumen
This study explores the life story and works of Tawfiq Wahbi, an Ottoman-Kurdish military, political, and intellectual figure. Born in Sulaimaniya in 1891, Wahbi received his education in Sulaimaniya, Baghdad, and İstanbul. He became a captain in the Ottoman army. He served as a minister and senator in Iraq. Following the 1958 Revolution, he settled in Great Britain, where he died in 1984. Wahbi is mostly known for his studies onthe Kurdish language. He contributed to Kurdish, Arabic, and English literary, cultural, and academic journals. The first study devoted to Wahbi’s intellectual biography in English, this article suggests that his scholarly interest was mainly shaped through his knowledge of and active engagement with European Orientalist scholarship. This paper suggests that Wahbi’s intellectual journey can be fittingly analyzed with reference toArif Dirlik’s use of the concept of “contact zone,” developed in the context of the relationship between Euro-American Orientalists and Bengali and Chinese intellectuals. In other words, Wahbi’s access to European languages and the scholarship produced in these languages in general, and his collaboration with British Orientalists in particular, seem to have been crucial in his endeavor of reforming Kurdish.

Resumen
Nowadays there is an increasing demand in society for specialists functioning at a high intellectual level, capable of producing new intellectual results not only in their native language, but also in foreign languages. This is especially important in the profession of a pediatrician, as the pediatrician is required to be ready for positive verbal interaction with the child. He or she must be able to establish contacts with his or her parents, as well as be able to consciously and independently choose means of treatment depending on the diagnosis of the patient. The article presents an analysis of the concepts of “abilities”, “intellectual abilities”, and a classification of their types. The authors present a series of intellectual games in a foreign language. The authors define the key concept of “intellectual ability” as a kind of individual’s abilities to create unique mental results of his cognitive actions and mental operations and apply them in various situations of professional communication in different languages. Special attention should be paid to the development of intellectual abilities in Russian universities, including foreign languages classes. It is necessary to activate the cognitive processes of students-pediatricians, to stimulate their thinking. To achieve this goal, the teacher is offered to create various problem-based situations and to present the students with problem-based tasks. The authors conclude that the use of intellectual games in foreign languages can significantly enhance the development of intellectual abilities of future pediatricians. The authors also propose criteria for diagnosing the intellectual abilities of future pediatricians in a medical university within the framework of a series of intellectual games.

Resumen
As recent research has amply demonstrated, we gain a much better understanding of medieval and early modern culture if we recognize the full extent to which people used different languages, interacted with each other nevertheless across language barriers, and exchanged ideas through many different linguistic channels. In some regions in Europe the contacts among various language speakers was higher, in others lower, much depending on the cultural, economic, and political conditions. The English intellectual elite, for instance, was often trilingual; all European intellectuals were at least bilingual (Latin and a vernacular), and many people spoke the courtly language and their local dialect, which is actually the case until today all over the world.

Resumen
AbstractThis dialogue on thought and language is a sequel to my dialogue ‘Thought and Thinking’, but can be read independently of it. The five disputants are the same as in the previous dialogue, namely Socrates; an imaginary neuroscientist from California (whose opinions reflect those of contemporary cognitive neuroscientists); an Oxford don from the 1950s (who employs the linguistic analytic techniques of his times); a Scottish post-doctoral student; and John Locke (who speaks for himself). The discussion takes place in Elysium in the early evening after dinner. They discuss the relationship between what one thinks and what one says, examine the reasons for supposing that there must be a language of thought and show why there cannot be one, investigate the supposition that thought must have a medium – that one must think in something (words, ideas, pre-linguistic concepts) – and demonstrate that it cannot have one. They investigate whether there can be non-linguistic thinking and whether non language-using animals can be said to think, and determine the limits of thought and thinking.

Resumen
The paper considers the essential features of municipal stage of All-Russian English Language School Olympiad (ARELSO or Olympiad). The author views the Olympiad as a creative intellectual contest (subject Olympiad) aiming at revealing intellectually, linguistically, socioculturally and creatively gifted and talented in the sphere of foreign languages children and further developing their intellectual and creative potential. The author emphasizes the importance of ARELSO as an effective means of assessing students knowledge as well as its correspondence with CEFR; of stimulating students interest and encouraging their competitiveness, creative, analytical and research activity, readiness for self-study and independent learning; of helping them to identify their future vocational orientation. Outlining researchers contribution to the field of intellectual contests and work with gifted and talented children, the author has to admit the absence of comprehensive full-scale research into subject Olympiads, covering theoretical aspects of and practical guidelines for designing English language Olympiad tasks. The relevance of the study is determined by the authors experience as an Olympiad tasks designer and an attempt to offer thorough guidance and practical tips to inexperienced teachers involved in the process of preparing students for ARELSO. The paper reveals how the regulations of All-Russian School Olympiad are observed in real municipal level tasks. The author comments on the task types and formats, their linguistic and intellectual complexity, thematic and sociocultural relevance. As a result of the study, the author emphasizes the necessity of designing for the Olympiad new original tasks with the aim of assessing students creative potential, foreign language competence and scope in the sphere of linguistics, country studies, linguocultural studies and cross-cultural communication.

Today, intellectual property is one of the most important types of investment and has been considered in many investment agreements. The Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Russian Federation (RF) have paid attention to intellectual property in their investment agreements. However, the current languages to the intellectual property remain ambiguous. Purpose: In this paper, we intend to examine the current languages to the intellectual property rights in the bilateral investment treaties of the ROK and the RF. Hence, the paper focuses on the fundamental question, namely, what are the languages to the intellectual property rights in the BITs? Methods: general scientific methods of theoretical knowledge, as well as general logical methods and research techniques are used in analyzing the Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) of the mentioned states. Results: Finally, we concluded that both states have adopted two absolute and conditional languages to the intellectual property rights, and the comprehensive language is the conditional one.

Speech and language are important in the mental and emotional development of every human being. Various speech disorders that affect the daily functioning, communication and acquiring the basic human needs can disrupt the functioning of a person in society. In the case of people with intellectual disabilities, this is an oligophasia, or the speech disorder characteristic for people with reduced intellectual ability. In this article, the author draws attention to the importance of a detailed speech diagnosis, which is the basis for the later therapeutic process. He presents in on the example of a child with moderate-degree intellectual disability, using the Afa-Skala test, while at the same time demonstrating its usefulness in diagnosing the intellectually disabled children’s language disorders. In the final part of the text the author deals with the problem of speech therapy in children with these disorders.

Resumen
Professional language is a universal tool of specialists’ communication. Every professional language has its specificity at different levels. They are terminology, genre features of texts, ethics of professional communication etc. However, none of these languages can be an antagonist of literary language. Violation of the standards of literary language, intellectual imbalance between the advertiser’s IQ and the consumer, the existence of negative connotations and emotions, failure to reach advertiser’s intentions; unsuccessful linguistic design of advertising product, violation of ethics of communication with the client; failed branding; inappropriate neologisms; wrong semantics towards words of foreign origin, famous to place names, onyms, dubious creativity are typical features of language. The specialist in language of advertising (“lingvoreklamist”) is an expert in the language of copywriting. His professional occupation allows not only to make professional re-branding and to find both linguistic and intellectual mistakes in an advertising text, but also to find a name for the company or institution according to their specialty. It means that he work as trouble-shooter in order to make advertising product of high quality.

Resumen
AbstractThis piece acknowledges the MLA's many initiatives in support of translation while also advocating for even greater visibility for translation as a mode of combatting language injustice in disciplines across the university. Translation offers opportunities for inclusiveness, information sharing, and collaborative knowledge production across linguistic, social, economic, and geographic divides. It also offers a form of hands-on apprenticeship in intellectual and scholarly rigor for undergraduate and graduate students alike. And by translating the texts of colleagues writing in other languages, scholars working in languages of the Global North can help further goals of language justice and access by facilitating exposure to and for other traditions of knowledge production. This piece proposes that, instead of treating translation as a threat to an individual's academic viability, we embrace translation as a means of increasing the vitality and equity of our intellectual communities.

Resumen
I was introduced to the term public intellectual almost twenty years ago when I was an undergraduate in a literary course on African American music taught by the cultural critic Farah Jasmine Griffin. The class conversations began with readings of jazz and hip-hop artists as “organic intellectuals” in the sense developed by Antonio Gramsci. We quickly moved to the debates sparked by Edward Said's Representations of the Intellectual (1993) and to the rise of the black public intellectual as demonstrated by the formation by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., of an academic “dream team” in African American studies at Harvard, Cornel West's publication of Race Matters (1994), and Robert Boynton's March 1995 article in the Atlantic entitled “The New Intellectuals,” which added Toni Morrison, Stanley Crouch, Patricia Williams, Michael Eric Dyson, Derrick Bell, June Jordan, and many others to that category. By the time I arrived at Harvard in 1999, for graduate study in African American literature, the idea of the black public intellectual served as a backdrop and a blueprint for how my generation of scholars could live inside and beyond the campus walls. As beneficiaries of that era, my peers and I did not necessarily have to prove that our work belonged in the public; instead, we had to wrestle with newer questions of format and forum in the digital age.

This article analyses the post-First World War emergence of intellectual relief. This is defined here as aid given to intellectuals and scholarly institutions. Relief included the provision of food and medicines to individuals as well as the supply of relevant scholarly literature and laboratory equipment to academic institutions. After 1918, significant humanitarian interventions targeted Central and Eastern Europe, which had been ravaged by war and its myriad consequences. The article argues that intellectual relief, while frequently using the language of the “crisis of civilization,” was part of the broader effort to safeguard the postwar liberal democratic order against Bolshevism. The article pays particular attention to the League of Nations' Committee on Intellectual Cooperation (CIC) to show how states like Hungary used intellectual deprivation to agitate for treaty revision. It argues that the CIC's development was shaped by the wider dynamics of intellectual relief.

Resumen
Kateb Yacine told Geneviève Serreau in 1956 that one does not use a universal language to humiliate a people in its very soul without consequences: sooner or later, the people seize that language and culture for themselves on their way towards freedom. Following this prophecy, Algerian intellectuals have in effect appropriated the French language, which they deploy with a high level of proficiency to address the colonizer in its own language. However, with decolonization, the French language was probed as a legacy of colonialism and an obstacle to Algerian self-realization and cultural authenticity. Algerian governments implemented a top-down Arabization policy, excluding national differences and subscribing wholly to the group of Arab nations. This process alienated those who did not read or speak Arabic in a country that is essentially comprised of a multiplicity of languages, cultures, and identities. This article delves into this bitter polemic as a painstaking search for national identity. It traces the position of the French language in the Algerian intellectual and literary landscape, from an initial gesture of rejection to a later move toward appropriation and nativization.

AbstractIn her contribution, Jillian Cavanaugh tells the story of the emergence of the concept of “language ideologies” that mediate “between the social practice of language and the socioeconomic and political structures within which it occurs.” The concept became an embedded component in analyzing the treatment of minority languages and dialects, and how power relations can be revealed through everyday language use. Today, rather than an overarching framework, language ideology has evolved into a critical point of departure for understanding the intersection between language and various forms of inequality that also require other intellectual tools to fully grasp.

Resumen
Intellectual disability is characterized by significant limitations both in intellectual functioning and in adaptive behaviour as expressed in conceptual, social, practical adaptive skills and manifests during the early developmental period (AAIDD, 2010). Communication difficulties are a significant risk factor in this population predominantly reducing access to education, employment and social integration. Speech and language therapy maximizes the participation and independence of individuals with intellectual disability as they experience life transitions that place new demands on communication. The present case study aimed to view the efficiency of speech and language therapy in facilitating higher inclusive education in adults with intellectual disability. A 26year old female with mild ID underwent assessment and speech and language therapy to develop a communicative capacity to be autonomous, self-determined and to exercise control over higher education and their lives. The results showed enhanced output of oral language and overall communication skills which are important factors of higher education. Adults with intellectual disability should have access to intervention strategies across their lifespan such as during transitions, or when external communication barriers arise. Key words: Intellectual disability; communication; speech and language therapy; oral language

Resumen
Abstract This paper retraces the history, activities, and contribution of an intellectual commune active in Quetta, Pakistan between 1950 and 1954: the ‘Laṭxāna commune’. Laṭxāna (Psht. ‘House of idleness’) is the name of a place in which Baluch, Pashtun, Urdu-speaking and Sindhi intellectuals settled in 1950. Laṭxāna’s intellectuals were in close contact with the Communist Party of Pakistan and its cultural branch, the Progressive Writers’ Association, and attempted to spread socialist or communist thought in Baluchistan. Following an agenda outlined by communist and progressive writers, they set out to develop literature in the languages of Baluchistan, launching a Baluchi literary association and a Pashto-language journal and publishing the first collections of modern Baluchi poetry. Laṭxāna’s members also promoted their outlook through journalism, and edited journals, such as Xāwar, Nawā-e waṭan and Ciltan. In 1954, the Laṭxāna intellectuals—who had so far been simple representatives of the Communists or Progressives in Baluchistan—started their own political movement. They created a political party and published a manifesto, which called for a socialist Baluchistan free from the influence of landowners and feudal leaders. Alongside ideological disagreements, the arrest of some of the commune’s prominent members finally led to the closure of Laṭxāna, but the group nevertheless had a long-lasting influence on Baluchistan’s political and intellectual landscape. In this paper, I shall discuss the commune’s literary, journalistic, and political contributions, notably through the accounts of its founding fathers, Mir Abdullah Jamaldini and Sain Kamal Khan Sherani.

Resumen
Abstract The essay offers a decolonial reading of the thought of Ọ̀rúnmìlà, the ancient legendary Yorùbá African messenger and interpreter of the spiritual tradition of Ifá with the aim to address the problem of hegemonic languages (such as English and French) and epistemic bias that have affected the Yorùbá intellectual tradition. The essay argues that reflection on the deep history of Yorùbá and the applied philosophy of Ọ̀rúnmìlà can better clarify the problem of language and epistemic injustices that European modernity has generated in modern Africa. The essay therefore explores what could be described as the interaction of nature-culture in the Yorùbá African intellectual tradition that continues to be silenced and distorted by imposed hegemonic languages and cultures. Through a new reading of the thought of Ọ̀rúnmìlà within the context of Ifá, the essay highlights how the problem of language and epistemic injustices disrupts the continuity of inherited African philosophical and historical traditions in modern times. Ultimately, such reading aims at revealing the contribution of the Yorùbá intellectual tradition to the global philosophical and historical discourse.

Resumen
This research paper discusses the intellectual foundation present in the grammatical structure of the verbal and nominal sentences in Arabic by identifying and analyzing specific intellectual foundation evidence that goes in line with the Islamic idea of monotheism based on the notion of the presence of factors, subject, adjuncts, predication, diacritics etc. The introduction discusses the concept of language and its origins. The findings helped explain the origin of Arabic language, and its creation. It also discussed the idea whether Arabs belong to the Arabic Language or vice versa. The body of the research paper included the intellectual foundation for of Arabic sentence structure. Evidence included the idea of the factor that affects other parts of the sentence, which is fundamental in syntax. It explained the importance of the subject in the structure of the verbal sentence grammar. This idea agrees with the idea that everything is caused by a cause. Examples include the presence of adjuncts and the passive voice where a subject (causer) is present although it is unknown. The findings show that sentence in Arabic is based on the idea of monotheism and that the origin of the Arabic language far exceeds other languages. The findings also show that Arabic is a representation of a monotheistic society or that it is of a divine source.

Resumen
The fact that the Turkish language was classified as an agglutinative language bythe traditional European linguistics was accepted, but also challenged by the Turkish language reformers of the 1930s. The underlying reason was that most classifications of the language families were influenced by harsh judgments about the cultural and intellectual level of its speakers as well as on the capability of those languages. Interestingly, the Turks did not question this kind of prejudices towards non-Indo-European languages and their speakers, but they tried to solve this “problem” at alinguistical-theoretical level. There were diverse attempts to deal with this issue, especially between 1932 and 1936.

Resumen
Abstract Agamben claimed that the experience of language, as it is manifested in the oath, precedes and gives rise to religion, law and politics, and therefore should be seen as a crucial element of the human process. It is my contention to argue here that a particular aspect of Agamben's own language suffers from substantial and conceptual flaws and self-assertive opinions on language and oath. They may put in question his own engagement with the textual evidence and philosophical literature, which makes his own text self-recommending and self-gratifying. In addition, he relied on obscure authors and obsolete interpretations and he failed to engage the relevant issues in the relevant literature that are crucial to his argument. More importantly, Agamben's argument on a certain impotence of language offers little suggestion, except calling upon philosophical obfuscation, to break down the state of exception in the current post-modern condition and avoid the technical apparatuses of the sacrament of power that led first to oath, and then to religion, law and politics.

Abstract Applied linguists invent their domain of inquiry as much as they investigate it and so do language teachers. Several factors make true intellectual dialogue between them difficult. The paper reviews briefly the reasons for the emergence of a discourse problem in language study and then examines the nature of this problem and suggests ways in which applied linguists and foreign language teachers can engage in intellectual dialogue. It is argued that applied linguists and language teachers can understand one another by engaging together in an intellectual exploration of the historical and social forces that have shaped their respective discourses. Ultimately what is important for each to understand is not the different answers they give but the different questions they ask.

Resumen
This paper attempts to analyze the complexities of the relationship between the radical Arab intellectual and political power in modern times through the examination of three cases—those of Taha Hussain, Al-Jawahiry, and Edward Said. Spanning the course of the whole of the twentieth-century, the careers of these three key, radical Arab intellectuals offer illustrative and illuminating examples of the relationship between political power and intellectuals in the Arab world generally. Although there are important differences between the three key figures—with Taha Hussain being the major example of the pioneering Arab intellectual of the early decades of the twentiethcentury, the period of the Arab intellectual awakening, Al-Jawahiry, the exemplary political poet and intellectual and key leader in a mass political movement, and Edward Said, the exemplary Arab radical intellectual in exile who achieved international prestige and prominence—they share particularly illuminating similarities in the way they dealt or had to deal with political authority. While they largely reflect the changing historical conditions of early, middle, and late twentieth-century Arab socio-political and cultural conditions, the careers of these three figures also express, most deeply and extensively, themes that are common to generations of Arab intellectuals. In addition to the issue of coming to terms with political power, these themes include harmonizing local culture with international culture, the homeland and the attachment to place, and the issue of exile and identity. The paper will attempt, finally, to draw from the examination of these three cases, conclusions that may be of relevance to the study of the relationship between intellectuals and authority in Arab society generally, and perhaps even to the theoretical framework within which such relationships are usually studied. It is hoped that the deeper scrutiny of the specificity of the Arab situation may also help to expand the frontiers of theory..

Resumen
Introduction. Modern information-based society puts forward the issues of obtaining, mastering, processing and understanding knowledge as a product of intellectual activity. Involvement in various types of information activities forms cognitive culture, and the up-to-date strategy of foreign language education is associated with disclosing the intellectual-forming potential of teaching, educating and helping students develop through the means of the studied language. The study aims to identify the pedagogical conditions which, through foreign language education, form cognitive culture as a key component of the intellectual personal culture of future teachers. Materials and methods. Methodologically, the study was based on the concepts of cognizant mental principle and activity, of the intellectualization of professional education, and of developed personal and intellectual culture, as well as on individual, environmental, personal-activity, communicative-cognitive, and technological approaches to developing rational and cognitive thinking and developing mental labor culture. Research methods: analysis of psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature on the research topic; qualitative and quantitative analysis of the empirical material, methodological data interpretation. Research results. The study revealed theoretical and empirical grounds for pedagogical conditions and for technological and diagnostic tools which form cognitive culture of bachelor students learning a foreign language. The former are related to the manifestation, development and regulation of intellectual skills (mental activity, intellectual search personality qualities, information behavior, criticality and logical thinking), of cognitive style (individual ways of processing information, rationality and reflexivity, flexible cognitive control), and of mental experience (intellectual maturity, ability to positively transfer knowledge, skills and competences). Conclusions. In university students, cognitive and metacognitive abilities for further inclusion in the authentic socio-cultural and professional context of life are developed through modeling, contextual, and socially oriented educational technologies that possess the characteristics of problem-based learning.

Resumen
Language is the cornerstone of the evolutionary civilization of human society. The ideology which dominates a society is reflected in all spheres, such as the culture, culture, lifestyle habits, and customs of the people living in that society. It is the language that does the greatest job of penetrating such an ideology into different spheres of society. In that sense, although various languages have emerged in the world and symbolized humanity, only a few languages are in use. Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world, which has lived and grown and flourished from the Stone Age to the Computer Age and has reached the status of a classical language in the world and is emerging as a standard language. Since its inception, the Tamil language has seen various forms and modifications. Tamil is the first language in which it has attained various stages such as origin, survival, stagnation, decline, growth, innovation, etc., in the path it has gone through and has perfected itself n the course of time. In this respect, the purpose of this article is not only to examine the constructive intellectual work that Dravidianism is doing to the linguistic Tamil community but also to examine the constructive intellectual work in various spheres. In this way, the Dravidian personalities, history, and hidden great works are brought out and this research becomes a seed for the revolution that will make the community fight for the restoration of Tamil through Dravidianism and the preservation of the race.

Abstract This paper investigates intellectual discourse in China during the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis through two discourse analyses, aiming to see the role of intellectuals in leading public discussion and perception on government decisions in times of crisis. Digital ethnography and digital discourse analysis are implemented to do a micro and in-depth analysis of texts and the media engagement of the Chinese intellectuals. In the context in which the presence and reception of public intellectuals in China has been transformed from pro-West gongzhi (公知) to intellectuals in the system (体制内), this study reviews the moral values and norms that promoted governmental policies and social coherence embedded in a new intellectual discourse. It contributes to the analysis of the dynamics and flexibility of China’s public communication in times of crisis within the social context in which online activities and offline realities are closely bonded in modern China.

Viet thanh nguyen's recent successes might appear to have come out of nowhere. before the sympathizer won the pulitzer prize and Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War was long-listed for the National Book Award, and before he was named a MacArthur Fellow, Nguyen was another hardworking academic, laboring away in a field that no one outside it knew much about. For those who labored alongside him in the same field, the story looks different. When many of us were finishing graduate school and looking for our first teaching jobs, there was a joke going around that all the applicants on the market that year were waiting to find out what Nguyen would do. He had gotten all the job offers in the field, and the other top contenders were hanging out on the waiting list. His irst book, Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America (2002), a study of how the idea of resistance circulates in critical discussions of Asian American literature, landed with a splash, becoming one of those works other scholars had to be familiar with. What made it stand out was his insistence that we not idealize resistance. If the standard story that scholars liked to tell was that Asian American literature adopted a radical posture when it came to race, seeking to critique racism and to conjure alternative social possibilities, Nguyen pointed out that the story was incomplete. Asian Americans, including creative writers, are as heterogeneous ideology-wise as they are heterogeneous in every other way.

Resumen
The article considers the intellectual component of the Russian and Baltic human language model (HLM) based on the material of phraseologisms. The intellectual component is characterized by somatic phraseological units (PhU) with key components correlated in Russian and Baltic languages: Rus. голова, мозг (мозги), ум, разум, рассудок / Latv. galva, smadzenes, prāts, saprāts / Lithuan. galva, smegenys, protas, omuo. In the semantics of the analyzed PhU, the following aspects of human intellectual activity are updated: normal / abnormal intellectual state; judiciousness, common sense / imprudence; good / poor mental capacity; a “container” of thoughts and quantitative indicators of mind and knowledge; memory abilities, normal thought activity / mental disorders. A comparative analysis of the semantics of Russian and Baltic PhU revealed common typological features of the compared HLM. Interlanguage Russian and Baltic correspondences in most cases are full equivalents, that is, identical in structure, composition of components and figurative bases, less often they are partial, that is, such in which there is a variation in components and grammatical structure. The identity of figurative foundations is a demonstration of the commonality of cultural connotations which, in turn, testifies to the commonality of many cultural attitudes of Russians and Balts. Apparently, interlanguage Russian, Latvian and Lithuanian equivalents go back to identical prototypes that developed into corresponding PhU under the combined action of universal (for all three ethnic groups) linguistic and extralinguistic factors, and this confirms the hypothesis of interlanguage phraseological parallelism, especially in the case of somatic phraseologisms.

Abstract This study investigates endangered language preservation through three research questions: risk factors for endangerment, socio-cultural effects of language loss, and complexities in preservation and revitalisation. A qualitative systematic review underscores the cultural, historical and intellectual importance of endangered languages. It identifies globalisation, urbanisation, and dominant languages as key accelerators of linguistic endangerment. The findings indicate significant sociocultural consequences of language loss, notably the decline of cultural identity and heritage. The study concludes that community involvement, technological advancements, and supportive government policies are crucial to successful preservation, ensuring that at-risk languages are maintained and revitalised for future generations.

Resumen
Introduction. The author believes that the relationship between power and intellectuals can range from the active participation of the intelligentsia in politics to the disillusionment of the intellectual community in politics and in the ruling elites. The author analyzes the process in Georgian contexts. It is assumed that politics as a process has ceased to attract public interest, despite a dynamic political life. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze the process of public disillusionment with politics in the modern Georgian intellectual community. Methods. Methodologically, the article is based on the principles of analyzing intellectual communities with the elements of the universal method of historicism and a comparative approach, which make it possible to identify and systematize the main features of the process of depoliticization of Georgian society. Scientific novelty. The author presents a new interpretation of the role of intellectuals in the processes of social disappointment in politics, based on the analysis of original sources in the Georgian language. Results. It is presumed that 1) Georgian intellectual community in the second half of the 2000s began to lose active interest in its own participation in politics; 2) political parties are also forced to acknowledge the crisis of loyalty because the elites and society develop independently, and their interests coincide rarely; 3) culture became an alternative project that attracts civil society more than real politics; 4) the active political participation of the Church assists to the erosion of political culture, forcing intellectuals to become disillusioned with politics, perceived as a clannish and corrupt sphere of activity. Conclusions. It is shown that disillusionment with politics in the second half of the 2000s and the gradual migration of intellectuals to cultural practices replaced the politicization of intellectual communities, which determined the main vectors of Georgian development in the previous period.

Resumen
Is it possible to think about God without anthropomorphizing him? The fact that God has both anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic characteristics adds to theological confusion. Individual variances in God's views might be a reflection of how individuals understand God's portrayals. Intellectuals have argued for ages that theistic conceptions of God are excessively anthropomorphic, perplexing, and complex. The paper focused on religious language and God’s anthropomorphic identities. It employed a historico-comparative approach using library resources. The finding provides light on the limitations and potential of philosophico-religious transmission of the complex idea of anthropomorphism and offers a critical, constructive, and interpretive avenue for intellectual dialogue.
