Lemoine, Anthony. "Indicateurs d’impacts des changements hydroclimatiques sur la gestion des réservoirs hydroélectriques". Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021SORUS107.
Texto completoThe hydropower sector is sensitive to climate. The current challenge is to develop indicators based on climate services to facilitate decision-making at the regional and local levels in the context of climate change adaptation. This thesis aims at identifying relevant indicators to characterize the impacts of climate change on the management of hydropower reservoirs. We have built a hydroclimatic modelling chain applied to four French catchments and reservoirs of major energy interest (Dordogne at Bort-les-Orgues, Ain at Vouglans, Durance at Serre-Ponçon and Verdon at Castillon). Our study illustrates a conceptual approach to reservoir management that allow us to develop an indicator to characterize the flexibility of water-energy systems in future climates. The results obtained show the conditions under which water volumes are available (or not) to optimize hydropower production. Finally, we adapted a stochastic dynamic programming model for optimal reservoir management to be used with hydrological projections. The analysis highlighted that, even in the optimized context, climate change might impact the management of large reservoirs, especially those with a predominantly multi-use purpose and current nival regime of hydrological inflows. Our approach provides a new methodological framework for climate impact studies on the water-energy sector and for the future development of climate services

Texto completoIncrease in resource demand raises concerns over their availability. In the recent years, national and international institutions have targeted sustainable resource supply and new economy models (e.g. circular economy, etc.) as a goal of their short- and long-term strategies. In this context, different methodological approaches under Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework are used to address the impact of resource depletion. However, they provide partial visions, based on limited available data, and do not reflect society challenges related to the resources. The newly developed factors and the LCIA method provide a more exhaustive vision through the availability of resources and may be used in Life Cycle Assessment or circular economy approaches. This work is done in partnership with the cd2e and Team2 cluster. It is also carried out in collaboration with CYCLeco Life Cycle Assessment Experts
Blanc, Emeline. "Indicateurs SIGAPS : quels sont les profils des publications des établissements de santé français ?" Thesis, Lyon, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LYSE1080/document.
Texto completoResearch activity funding in French hospitals is partly based on the number of publications, while taking also into account author position (first, second, third, second-to-last, last, investigator list, and Other) and journal category (A being the highest category followed by B, C, D, E, and NC). Over the 2004-2014 decade, the profile and the evolution of publications for the six existing types of hospital, i.e public teaching hospital, cancer centre, public non-teaching hospital, not-for-profit private hospital, military hospital, and for-profit private hospital were analysed. Among a total of 192 886 publications analysed, the most frequent category was B for cancer centres, whereas this was E in the other types. The first position was the most frequent for public teaching hospitals and the military hospital, whereas the Other position was the most frequent for the other types. The author position indicated that all types of hospital are involved in research projects. Public non-teaching hospitals, not-for-profit private hospitals, for-profit private hospitals, and cancer centres collaborated with other institutions; cancer centres were often distinguished by publishing in high-category journals. Over the same period, for the public teaching hospitals, means, Spearman correlation coefficients and Pearson regression lines were calculated between the following variables from 2004 to 2014 per full time equivalent (FTE) physicians: the number of publications, the number of hospital stays, the number of FTE university hospital practitioners, and finally the number of residents. The mean per FTE physicians was 0.73 publications, 235.8 hospital stays, and 0.63 residents. The correlations between these three variables two by two were weak. The correlations between the proportion of university hospital practitioners and number of publications per FTE physicians, number of residents per FTE physicians, AB categories publications per FTE physicians, or first and last authors’ publications per FTE physicians was strong. All French hospitals are involved into research activities but with different patterns. Among them, public teaching hospitals have three missions: research, care and teaching. Each of them had different patterns in term of care, teaching, and research activities. None was above the mean for all these 3 activities. Nine had at least 2 of the 3 missions with above-average scores

Texto completoGiven the recent legal framework on corporate social responsibility (CSR), multinational corporations show growing interest in measuring the social impact of their practices. Based on two case studies, this thesis examines the impact which CSR projects have on the affected populations’ human development, including a measure of relational development. The first part of the thesis constructs the theoretical framework. Uncovering the assumptions underlying the three objects of study – development indicators, views on CSR and impact assessment approaches – reveals convergences and incompatibilities between different postures. This framework justifies the choice of a methodology based on the use of non-experimental quantitative methods joined to qualitative analyses, which mobilizes a multidimensional approach to development founded on the capability approach. The second part of the thesis presents two empirical applications based on the impact assessment of Total's societal programs in Nigeria and of a waste pickers inclusion project conducted by Danone in Mexico. The empirical results show that beyond their impact on poverty, these projects have important effects on the social fabric. This provides evidence for the value of evaluative frameworks which use unconventional indicators and which inform quantitative data with a qualitative analysis of the processes of change and the balance of power involved

Texto completoRanked 162nd in the world out of 183, Togo is one of the least advanced countries in the world. Shaken by a huge political crisis in the 90’s with dramatic social and economic consequences, the country has had positive GDP growth rates since 2006. However, this performance is still not enough to considerably alleviate the country’s multiform poverty. This dissertation aims to measure two approaches of poverty: the monetary one and basic needs. The measuring tools are: Foster Greer Thorbecke (FGT) poverty indices once a poverty line is determined, Multiple Correspondance Analysis (MCA) used to construct a Composite Poverty Indicator (CPI) and finally econometric estimations. Having introduced some targeting policies, a special attention is paid to micro-finance. Statistical results have shown evidence that, despite the high level of loan repayment by group lending members, they remain non-monetary poor. It is also noticed that the repayment performance isn’t linked to any improvement of the credit group member’s monetary situation, but rather to the very nature of group lending technology
