In our recent paper on the relationships of 21 European Hypnum taxa we introduced the name Hypnum subcomplanatum Hedenäs, Schlesak & D. Quandt as a new name at the species level, based on the basionym Hypnum cupressiforme var. subjulaceum Molendo (Schlesak et al. 2018). We were aware that H. cupressiforme var. subjulaceum had already been elevated and combined at the species rank (Stereodon subjulaceum (Molendo) Loeske & Osterwald [Verh. Bot. Vereins Prov. Brandenburg 49: 65. 1907)], but unfortunately overlooked that Hypnum subjulaceum Besch. was not validly published. The latter therefore cannot block a species level combination in Hypnum based on H. cupressiforme var. subjulaceum Molendo (Art. 53.1 of the Code). Because no homonym issues exist, the epithet ’subjulaceum’ has priority when combined under Hypnum. The new combination follows:

Hypnum cupressiforme Hedw. es una especie de gran variabilidad morfológica, con una taxonomía complicada que ha sufrido numerosos cambios. Sólo en la Península Ibérica la especie está representada por 6 variedades cuya distribución es poco conocida. Durante la realización de un estudio de biodiversidad de epífitos en los bosques de la Península Ibérica, se hallaron dos nuevas localidades para Hypnum cupressiforme var. julaceum Brid. e Hypnum cupressiforme var. resupinatum (Taylor) Schimp. en las provincias de Cáceres y Soria respectivamente. Se presenta una recopilación de las citas para estos taxones en la Península Ibérica y se comparan sus caracteres morfológicos con los de variedades cercanas. Hypnum cupressiforme Hedw. is a variable species with a complex taxonomy that has suffered many changes. Just in the Iberian Peninsula the species has 6 recognized varieties whose distribution is poorly known. In the course of a study on the biodiversity of epiphytic bryophytes in the forests of the Iberian Peninsula, two new localities of Hypnum cupressiforme var. julaceum Brid. and Hypnum cupressiforme var. resupinatum (Taylor) Schimp. were found in Cáceres and Soria respectively. We present a compilation of the known references of these taxa in the Iberian Peninsula and their morphological characters are compared to those of nearby varieties of H. cupressiforme Hedw.

The pleurocarpous moss genus Hypnum s.l. is a species-rich (> 40 species) cosmopolitan genus, of which 21 taxa occur in Europe. Although several of these species show high morphological resemblance there are strong indications that the genus is highly paraphyletic, which may be masked by convergent morphological evolution. Using molecular information, we analyse whether the morphological similarity of gametophytes of the European Hypnum taxa is explained by common ancestry or convergence. We provide a phylogenetic reconstruction of the relationships of the currently recognized European Hypnum taxa in a broad pleurocarpous moss context (192 taxa) using the nuclear ITS1-5.8S-ITS2, the plastid rps4 gene and trnL-F, and the mitochondrial nad5 intron. Bayesian tree topologies show that the genus is polyphyletic, and we retain only the Hypnum cupressiforme complex within Hypnum. The genus originally represented half of the moss species diversity, as it accommodated basically all pleurocarpous mosses; here we retain only seven species and one variety. The remainder of the species where resolved either within the three families Amblystegiaceae, Entodontaceae, and Pylaisiaceae, or in an independent clade that we describe as the new family Stereodontaceae. The Stereodontaceae includes five European species, all in the genus Stereodon, where they were already placed in the 18th century. In addition, we describe the four new genera Aquilonium, Insomniella, Jochenia, and Lignocariosa, and make new combinations for several Hypnum species.

Nutrient depletion and accumulation of toxic metabolites in compost are believed to be limiting factors and responsible for decreased yields as a mushroom crop ages. The objective of this study was to determine whether mineral nutrients limited later break yield of Agaricus bisporus in compost supplemented with additional protein-lipid rich supplements. Unsupplemented compost receiving rock phosphate or hypnum peat did not have a significant increase in later break yield. However, rock phosphate, sodium phosphate and hypnum peat added to protein-lipid rich, delayed release supplemented compost at spawning increased yield in later breaks. These results suggest the nutrient requirement satisfied by a protein-lipid rich, delayed release supplement was a prerequisite for supplementary phosphorous or hypnum peat to increase later break yields. Hypnum Hedw. is a moss genus of family Hypnaceae which mostly occurs in temperate and sub tropical regions having ample moisture regime. The present study explicates the distribution and diversity of eight taxa of Hypnum viz. H. aduncoides (Brid.) Müll. Hal., H. cupressiforme Hedw., H. cupressiforme ssp. imponens, H. macrogynum Besch., H. sikkimense Ando, H. subimponens Lesq., H. subimponens ssp. ulophyllum (Müll. Hal.) Ando and H submolluscum Besch. occurring in Darjeeling hill region of eastern Himalaya. The distribution of all the eight species of genus Hypnum in eastern Himalaya at Darjeeling hills along the altitudinal gradient and at five different habitats has been provided.

Das Laubmoos Hypnum heseleri Ando & Higuchi konnte erstmals für Nordrhein-Westfalen nachgewiesen werden. Neben einer Charakterisierung der Fundstelle wird über die Verbreitung der Art in Deutschland und über dessen Grenzen hinaus berichtet. Wichtige diagnostische Merkmale der Art werden genannt, ihr taxonomischer Status diskutiert. Der Artikel schließt mit einem Vorschlag zur Einstufung von Hypnum heseleri in der Roten Liste der Moose Nordrhein-Westfalens.

Nutrient depletion and accumulation of toxic metabolites in compost are believed to be limiting factors and responsible for decreased yields as a mushroom crop ages. The objective of this study was to identify, monitor, and quantify mineral element levels in composted substrate and compost solution extracts during mushroom production. Mineral element changes were assessed by placing ion exchange resin bags in compost saturated paste extracts and directly in composted substrate. The concentration of most cations in compost solution increased as the crop aged. The addition of hypnum peat and rock phosphate to compost at spawning lowered potassium and magnesium concentration in compost solution, which suggested the accumulation of potassium, and possibly, magnesium may limit later yields. Compost solution extracted from hypnum peat moss and rock phosphate supplemented compost had less phosphorus in solution than unsupplemented compost, suggesting an increase in uptake of phosphorus by the mushroom mycelium increased later break yields. Resin-extracted potassium from the saturated paste extract solutions decreased until primordia formation, then increased as the crop aged. Hypnum peat and rock phosphate added to compost at spawning lowered resin-extracted potassium and increased resin-extracted calcium after casing. Most resin-extracted cations from around the mycelium in situ increased as the crop aged. IR-120-Na resins extracted more calcium and less potassium from around the mycelium in hypnum peat supplemented compost. The results suggested that calcium or potassium interfered with the nutrient uptake of phosphorus as the crop aged, thus reducing yield.Key words: Agaricus bisporus, hypnum peat, ion exchange resins, chelation, calcium, potassium, phosphorus.

Most of plants are negatively affected by specific characteristics of serpentine. It is mainly due to the low ratio of Ca: Mg, drought and high content of heavy metals. Specific vegetation occurs on the serpentine thanks to these characteristics. Although many scientists looked into the topic of serpentine, mosses were not focused that much. This research is dedicated to the difference in the content of moss Hypnum cupressiforme on serpentine and granulite in south Bohemia. This theses found out that bryophytes of serpentine contained significantly higher amounts of magnesium. Ca: Mg ratio was lower in plants at serpentine sites than at control sites. Calcium has been accumulated by mosses on the serpentine and granulite almost equally, on serpentine, magnesium was accumulated 13 times less and nickel 7 times less. Serpentine plants contained significantly higher amounts of nickel and chromium than granulite. More accurate conclusions would probably bring chemical analyzes of individual parts of bryophytes and analysis of its subsoil. It would be interesting to include pleurocarp and acrocarp mosses and liverworts.

A família Hypnaceae pertence ao grupo dos musgos pleurocárpicos, ordem Hypnales. É uma família cosmopolita que coloniza diversos substratos e muitos de seus representantes exercem um papel ecológico importante. Estima-se que a família seja composta por 1.000 espécies e 40 gêneros, distribuídas em regiões tropicais e temperadas do mundo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão taxonômica dos gêneros Chryso-hypnum (in. prep.) e Mittenothamnium para o neotrópico; apresentar uma hipótese filogenética com uso de marcadores moleculares para esses dois gêneros a nível mundial e determinar quais são caracteres morfológicos informativos para separar os gêneros e espécies de Hypnaceae. Para tanto, a tese está subdividida em três capítulos. O primeiro aborda a filogenia molecular de Chrysohypnum e Mittenothamnium baseada em marcadores de cloroplasto e núcleo. Neste capítulo foram produzidas 43 novas sequências. Três regiões de dois genomas foram utilizadas: rps4, ITS e 26S. Em todas as análises foi possível observar o polifiletismo de Chryso-hypnum e o monofiletismo de Mittenothamnium. O segundo capítulo aborda a morfologia dos esporos e desenvolvimento das papilas em Chryso-hypnum e Mittenothamnium. Observa-se que as espécies pertencentes ao gênero Chryso-hypnum apresentam papilas em ambas as extremidades das células dos filídios, enquanto que Mittenothamnium apresentam espécies com papilas apenas no ápice da célula. Já os esporos de Chryso-hypnum apresentam ornamentação com grânulos de tamanho variável formados pela fusão de nanogrânulos. E em Mittenothamnium, os esporos apresentam disposição dos grânulos na superfície da parede que se dá de forma esparsa e irregular. E o terceiro capítulo refere-se à revisão taxonômica de Mittenothamnium para o neotrópico, onde foram estudadas exsicatas provenientes de diversos herbários nacionais e internacionais e o material-tipo de todas as espécies com seus registros de ocorrência. Neste capítulo estão sendo tratadas nove espécies de Mittenothamnium para o neotrópico. Duas novas ocorrências (uma para o Brasil e a outra para o Equador) são apresentadas.
The Hypnaceae family belongs to the pleurocarpous mosses and the Hypnales Order. It is a cosmopolitan family that colonizes a large tips of substrates, having an important ecological function in their environment. 1.000 species from 40 genus are worldwide estimated for the family distributed in tropical and temperate regions. This work objective is to realize a taxonomic revision of the Chryso-hypnum Hampe and Mittenothamnium Henn. genus for Neotropics; present a phylogenetic hypothesis by using molecular markers for the two genus in a worldwide level and determine wich are informative morphological characters to separate the genus and species of Hypnaceae. The thesis is dividing in three chapters. The first one is about a molecular phylogeny of Chryso-hypnum and Mittenothamnium based on nucleus and chloroplast markers. In this chapter 43 new sequences were produced. Three regions and two genomes were used: rps4, ITS and 26S. In all the analyzes was possible to identify the polyphyly of the Chryso-hypnum and the monophyly of the Mittenothamnium. The second chapter refers to morphology of the spores and development of leaf papillae (prorates cells) in the Chryso-hypnum and Mittenothamnium (Hypnaceae). It is observed that Chryso-hypnum has papillae on both ends of the leaf cells, while Mittenothamnium presents species with papillae only at the apex of the leaf cell. Chryso-hypnum spores presents ornaments with granules of variable size formed by the fusion of nanogranules. And in Mittenothamnium the spores present arrangement of the granules in the surface of the wall that is of sparse and irregular form. The third chapter refers to the taxonomic revision of Mittenothamnium to the Neotropic, where exsicates from several national and international herbariums were studied and the types material of all species with their occurrence records. Nine species have been included and an identification key for the genus has been made. Descriptions, nomenclature notes, distribution maps, illustrations and the conservation status have been constructed for each species. Two new occurrences (one for Brazil and the other for Ecuador) are presented.

O presente trabalho utiliza marcadores moleculares para auxiliar na caracterização e filogenia das espécies de macroalgas vermelhas do gênero Hypnea na costa do Brasil. O gênero Hypnea Lamouroux (1813) apresenta cerca de 67 espécies descritas e possui distribuição geográfica em águas quentes ao redor do mundo. Além disso, o gênero possui grande importância econômica e ecológica, como fonte de alimento e produção industrial de carragenana. Porém, a identificação das espécies de Hypnea com base exclusivamente em dados morfológicos é dificultada em virtude da plasticidade fenotípica presente no grupo, de sua morfologia relativamente simples e da ampla distribuição geográfica de suas espécies. Em vista disso, utilizamos a técnica de \"DNA barcoding\" que permite a análise de um grande número de amostras. Neste trabalho foram utilizados dois \"DNA barcodes\" (a região 5\' do gene mitocondrial cox1 e o \"universal plastid amplicon\" UPA), e para as análises filogenéticas foi utilizado o gene plastidial rbcL. Além disso, estudos morfológicos foram feitos a fim de delimitar o real valor dos caracteres morfo-anatômicos citados na literatura para a separação de espécies do gênero Hypnea. Ao todo, foram obtidas 230 amostras brasileiras de Hypnea, provenientes de 11 estados brasileiros, e 10 amostras de outros países. Um total de 367 sequências de marcadores moleculares foi obtido neste trabalho. Confirmamos a ocorrência de nove espécies para o gênero: H. cervicornis, \"H. flexicaulis\", \"H. musciformis\", H. spinella, \"H. stellulifera\", Hypnea sp. 1, Hypnea sp. 2, Hypnea sp. 3 e Hypnea sp. 4. As amostras coletadas e previamente identificadas em campo como H. cornuta revelaram-se, pelos estudos da biologia molecular, serem \"H. stellulifera\". As espécies H. musciformis, H. nigrescens, H. valentiae foram consideradas variações morfológicas de uma mesma espécie, denominada de \"H. musciformis\". A identificação das espécies com base apenas em características morfológicas mostrou-se insatisfatória, devido principalmente a plasticidade fenotípica presente no grupo, além da existência de espécies com morfologias convergentes. A técnica de \"DNA barcode\", principalmente com relação ao marcador cox1, mostrou-se essencial na identificação e delimitação das espécies, revelando cenários que passariam despercebidos com o uso apenas da morfologia
This study uses molecular markers to aid in the characterization and phylogeny of species of the genus Hypnea, a red macroalgae, on the coast of Brazil. The genus Hypnea Lamouroux (1813) presents about 67 described species and has geographical distribution in warm waters around the world. Furthermore, the genus has great economic and ecological importance as a source of food and industrial production of carrageenan. However, the identification of the species of Hypnea based solely on morphological data is difficult due to phenotypic plasticity present in this group, its relatively simple morphology and broad geographical distribution of its species. In view of this, we use the technique of \"DNA barcoding\" that allows the analysis of a large number of samples. In this work we used two \"DNA barcodes\" (the 5 \'region of the mitochondrial gene cox1 and universal plastid amplicon UPA), and for phylogenetic analysis the plastid gene rbcL was used. In addition, morphological studies were made in order to delimit the actual value of morpho-anatomical caracters cited in the literature for the separation of species of Hypnea. Altogether, 230 Hypnea samples were obtained from 11 Brazilian states, and 10 samples from other countries. A total of 367 sequences of molecular markers were obtained in this study. We confirm the occurrence of nine species of the genus: H. cervicornis, \"H. flexicaulis\", \"H. musciformis\", \"H. spinella, \"H. stellulifera\", Hypnea sp. 1, Hypnea sp. 2, Hypnea sp. 3 and Hypnea sp. 4. Samples collected in the field and previously identified as H. cornuta based on molecular data, proved to be \"H. stellulifera\". The species H. musciformis, H. nigrescens and H. valentiae were considered morphological variations of the same species, named \"H. musciformis\". The identification of species based on morphological characteristics proved unsatisfactory, mainly due to phenotypic plasticity in this group and the existence of species with convergent morphologies. The technique of \"DNA barcode\", especially with respect to cox1 marker, was essential for the identification and definition of species, revealing scenarios that would go unnoticed by using only morphology

Lectinas sÃo (glico)proteÃnas que podem reconhecer e se ligar reversivelmente a carboidratos ou a outras substÃncias derivadas de aÃÃcares. SÃo encontradas nos reinos vegetal e animal. Hypnea cervicornis à uma espÃcie de alga marinha vermelha encontrada no nordeste do Brasil da qual foi isolada a lectina H. cervicornis aglutinina (HCA), um polipeptideo que contÃm 90 resÃduos de aminoÃcidos (9193 Da) que se ligam especificamente a glicoproteÃnas do tipo mucina. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi estudar as atividades antiinflamatÃria e antinociceptiva, ainda nÃo exploradas, da HCA. Foram utilizados camundongos Swiss albinos (20-35g) ou ratos Wistar (150-250g). Para o estudo da atividade antiinflamatÃria da HCA, os ratos foram injetados e.v. somente com a lectina nas doses de 10-2; 10-1; 1 e 10 mg/Kg (peritonite) ou a dose de 1 mg/Kg em associaÃÃo com 5 mg/mL de mucina (1 mg/Kg). ApÃs esse procedimento, os animais foram avaliados nos modelo de peritonite induzida Cg (quimiotÃtico direto) ou por fMLP (quimiotÃtico indireto). HCA (10-1; 1 e 10 mg/Kg) inibiu a peritonite induzida por Cg e por fMLP. Observamos que na peritonite induzida por Cg: A administraÃÃo conjunta de HCA (1 mg/Kg) com mucina inibiu sua atividade antiinflamatÃria (p<0,05), sugerindo participaÃÃo do sÃtio lectÃnico nesta atividade; o aquecimento de HCA a 100oC, por 10 minutos, inibiu seu efeito antiinflamatÃrio, indicando a importÃncia de sua estrutura; a microscopia intravital mostrou que a HCA (10 mg/Kg) reduziu o rolamento e adesÃo de leucÃcitos; a lectina induziu a produÃÃo de Ãxido nÃtrico (NO, reaÃÃo de Griess) no soro; Aminoguanidina e L-Nitro-Arginina inibiram a atividade da HCA; HCA nÃo reduziu as concentraÃÃes de citocinas TNF-α e IL-1 no peritÃnio. A pressÃo arterial e o leucograma dos animais nÃo foram alterados pela administraÃÃo de HCA. A lectina nÃo age diretamente sobre neutrÃfilos, pois nÃo inibiu a quimiotaxia in vitro induzida por agente quimiotÃtico (MIP-2). No edema de pata induzido por Dextrana ou Cg, HCA (1 mg/Kg) inibiu significativamente (p<0,05) apenas o edema de pata induzido por Cg. O efeito antiedematogÃnico da HCA foi prevenido pela administraÃÃo conjunta com mucina. HCA reduziu as contorÃÃes induzidas por Ãcido acÃtico e seu efeito antinociceptivo foi prevenido pela administraÃÃo conjunta com mucina. HCA diminuiu somente a segunda fase do teste da formalina. No teste da placa quente, HCA nÃo apresentou efeito. A lectina tambÃm nÃo alterou a atividade locomotora. A toxicidade sub-crÃnica foi avaliada pelo tratamento de ratos com HCA (1mg/kg), durante sete dias consecutivos, atravÃs de vÃrios parÃmetros: funÃÃes do rim (peso Ãmido, dosagem de creatinina e urÃia) e do fÃgado (peso Ãmido, avaliaÃÃo da cinÃtica da aspartato amino transaminase e alanina amino transaminase), coraÃÃo (peso Ãmido), estÃmago (peso Ãmido e avaliaÃÃo visual de possÃveis lesÃes), variaÃÃo de massa corporal dos animais tratados e leucograma. Os resultados obtidos nÃo mostraram qualquer alteraÃÃo dos parÃmetros avaliados, demonstrando que a HCA nÃo apresenta nenhuma toxicidade nos animais. Em conjunto, esses dados revelam que a HCA apresenta atividade antiinflamatÃria e antinociceptiva que supostamente podem ser explicadas por bloqueio direto competitivo com carboidratos ligantes de selectinas e/ou indireto, via produÃÃo de NO, que diminuem o rolamento e adesÃo de leucÃcitos sobre o endotÃlio.
Lectins are (glyco)proteins that can recognize and reversibly bind to carbohydrates or other substances derived from sugars. They are found throughout animal and vegetal kingdoms. Hypnea cervicornis is a species of marine red algae found in Northeast of Brazil from which was isolated the lectin Hypnea cervicornis aglutinin (HCA), a polypeptide containing 90 amino acid residues (9193 Da) that binds especifically to mucin-type glycoprotein. The objective of this work was to study the anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive activities of HCA not yet known. Albine Swiss mice (20-35g) and Wistar rats (150-250g) were used. For the study of HCA anti-inflammatory activity, the rats were injected (i.v.) with lectin alone in the doses of 10-2; 10-1; 1 e 10 mg/Kg (peritonitis) or a dose of 1 mg/Kg associated to 5 mg/mL of mucin (1 mg/Kg). Following this procedure, the animals were evaluated in the peritonitis model induced by Cg (direct neutrophil chemoatractant) or by fMLP (indirect neutrophil chemoatractant). HCA (10-1; 1 and 10 mg/Kg) inhibited Cg- and fMLP-induced peritonitis. In Cg-induced peritonitis it was observed that: the administration of HCA (1mg/Kg) in association with mucin inhibited its anti-inflammatory activity (p<0.05), suggesting the participation of the lectin site on this mechanism; heating HCA at 100oC, for 10 minutes, inhibited its anti-inflammatory effect, indicating the importance of its structure for that mechanism; the intravital microscopy showed that HCA reduced the rolling and adhesion of the leucocytes; the lectin induced the production of nitric oxide (NO Griess reaction) in serum; aminoguanidine and L-Nitro-arginin inhibited the HCA activity; HCA did not reduce the concentrations of TNF-α and IL-1 in the peritoneum. The arterial pressure and the leukogram of the animals were not altered by the administration of HCA. The lectin does not act directly on neutrophils because it did not inhibit the in vitro chemotaxis induced by MIP-2, a chemotactic agent. In the carragenan (Cg)- or dextran-induced paw edema, HCA (1 mg/Kg) inhibited significantly (p<0.05) only the Cg-induced paw edema. The antiedematogenic effect of HCA was prevented when it was administered in association with mucin. HCA reduced the writhes induced by acetic acid and its antinociceptive effect was prevented by the association with mucin. HCA only decreased the second phase of formalin test. In the hot plate, HCA did not show any effects. The lectin did not alter the motor coordination. The HCA subcronic toxicity was evaluated treating rats with a dose of 1mg/Kg during seven days and analys of several parameters: kidney functions (wet weight, creatinin and urea serum concentrations), liver functions (wet weight, kinetic of serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase), heart (wet weight) stomach (wet weight and visual evaluation of possible lesions), variation of body weight of treated animals and leukogram. The results showed no alterations of the evaluated parameters suggesting that HCA seems to be well tolerated by animals. The results taken together reveal that HCA presents anti-inflammatory and nociceptive activities which could be explained by direct competitive blockage with a common selectin carbohydrate ligand and/or indirectly, via NO production, which decrease of rolling and adhesion of leukocytes to endothelium.

O gênero Hypnea J.V. Lamouroux (1813) (Cystocloniaceae, Gigartinales), com cerca de 67 espécies descritas, apresenta ampla distribuição geográfica pelas costas marinhas de águas quentes ao redor do mundo. Algumas espécies de Hypnea são usadas para a produção de carragenanas, hidrocolóides de grande importância na indústria atual. A taxonomia do gênero é bastante problemática e a identificação das espécies é complicada devido a uma morfologia relativamente simples que muitas vezes é influenciada pelas condições do habitat onde se encontram. Apesar das revisões regionais já realizadas, o número certo de espécies e o status de algumas delas permanece em dúvida. Estudos moleculares já foram realizados com o gênero Hypnea principalmente para região da Ásia. A técnica do \"DNA barcoding\" tem sido testada em Rhodophyta com sucesso para identificação rápida de espécies, utilizando a região 5´ do gene mitocondrial da citocromo c oxidase subunidade I, o marcador cox1. Outro marcador recentemente testado como \"DNA barcode\" é o domínio V do gene plastidial 23S, o marcador UPA. Além destes, o marcador plastidial rbcL tem sido utilizado como ferramenta para estudos filogenéticos do gênero Hypnea. No presente trabalho, foram sequenciadas para o marcador cox1, 49 amostras provenientes do no litoral do estado de São Paulo, uma amostra proveniente do estado do Rio de Janeiro e cinco amostras mantidas em cultura provenientes dos litorais dos estados de São Paulo e Espírito Santo. Foram identificados seis grupos taxonômicos diferentes segundo o marcador cox1. Representantes de cada um desses grupos foram sequenciados para os marcadores UPA e rbcL. A divergência interespecífica encontrada entre as amostras sequenciadas neste estudo para o marcador cox1 foi 62 - 100 pb (10,1 - 16,3%); para o marcador UPA foi 9 - 16 pb (2,5-4,4%) e para o marcador rbcL foi 42 - 88 pb (3,2 - 6,7%). As divergências intraespecíficas das amostras obtidas neste estudo foram, 0 - 5 pb (0 - 0,9 %) para o marcador cox1, 0 - 1pb (0 - 0,3%) para o marcador UPA e 0 - 6 pb (0 - 0,5%) para o marcador rbcL. As divergências observadas corroboram a existência de seis entidades taxonômicas diferentes. Após análise da morfologia e comparação com sequências disponíveis no GenBank as espécies do gênero Hypnea foram nomeadas como: H. cervicornis, H.flexicaulis, H. musciformis, H. spinella, Hypnea sp.1 e Hypnea sp.2. Sendo a espécie Hypnea flexicaulis a primeira citação para o Oceano Atlântico. Baseado nos estudos moleculares e morfológicos, concluímos que a espécie H. nigrescens, anteriormente citada para o Estado de São Paulo, é na verdade uma variação morfológica de H. musciformis. Ainda, concluímos que as espécies de H. cervicornis e H. spinella não devem ser colocadas em sinonímia uma vez que suas características morfológicas e as diferenças nas sequências obtidas através dos três marcadores utilizados mostram que são duas espécies distintas
The genus J.V. Lamouroux (1813) (Cystocloniaceae, Gigartinales), comprises 67 described species, has a wide geographical distribution on the tropical shores around the world. Some species of Hypnea are used for the production of carrageenan, hydrocolloids of great importance in today´s industry. The taxonomy of the genus is very problematic and Hypnea species identification is complicated by a relatively simple morphology that is often influenced by the conditions of the habitat. Although some regional reviews have been carried out, the right number of species and the status of some species remain in doubt. Molecular studies have been carried out mainly dealing with species from Asia. The technique of \"DNA barcoding\" has been successfully tested in Rhodophyta for rapid identification of species using the 5 \'region of the mitochondrial gene cytochrome c oxidase subunit I, the marker cox1. Recently, another marker tested as \"DNA barcode\" is the domain V of the plastidial 23S gene, the marker UPA. In addition, the plastidial marker rbcL has been used as a tool for phylogenetic studies of the genus Hypnea. In this study, were sequenced for the marker cox1, 49 samples from the coast of São Paulo State, a sample from the State of Rio de Janeiro and five samples maintained in culture from the coastal states from the States of São Paulo and Espirito Santo. We identified six different taxonomic groups according to the marker cox1. Representatives of each of these groups were sequenced for the UPA and rbcL markers. The divergence found among the cox1 sequences in this study was from 62 to 100 bp (10.1 - 16.3%), for the UPA marker was from 9 to 16 bp (2.5 to 4.4%), and for the rbcL marker was 42 to 88 bp (3.2 - 6.7%). The intraspecific divergences for the samples sequenced in this study were 0-5 bp (0 -0.9%) for the cox1, 0-1 bp (0 - 0.3%) for the UPA and 0-6 bp (0 - 0.5%) for the rbcL. The observed divergences for the three molecular markers confirm the existence of six different taxonomic entities. After analysis of the morphology and comparison with sequences available in GenBank for the genus Hypnea these taxonomic entities were named as: H. cervicornis, H. flexicaulis, H. musciformis, H. spinella, Hypnea sp. 1 and sp2. As the species Hypnea flexicaulis this is the first citation to the Atlantic Ocean. Based on morphological and molecular studies, we conclude that the species H.nigrescens, quoted earlier for the State of São Paulo, is actually a morphological variation of H. musciformis. Still, we conclude that the species H. cervicornis and H.spinella should not be placed in synonymy since its morphological characteristics and differences in the sequences obtained from the three molecular markers show that they are two distinct species

Syfte: Att öka kunskap om klinisk hypnos inom ramen för familje-/parterapi. Frågeställningar: I vilken omfattning används hypnos? När? Av vilka anledningar, samt hur? Metod: Kvalitativ, explorativ. 10 intervjuer har genomförts. Resultat: Inblick ges i systemiskt hypnosarbete, vilket kan utgöra förstudie till fortsatt forskning. Omfattning: Hypnos används i 0 - 100 % av fallen, vanligast i 40 - 50 %. När: Vid depression, ångest, affektiv-, kommunikations-, sex & samlevnadsproblem, med dissociativa klienter, trauma, ätstörningar, klienter med autistiska drag, vid kroppssymtom; smärta, mage/tarmproblem, högt blodtryck. Hypnos är särskilt givande vid problem som påverkar familjen. Anledningar: Hypnos är salutogent, ger verktyg för interaktion och bearbetning som når ickeverbala nivåer, kan ge kroppsreaktioner. Hypnos anses skonsamt, helande, effektiviserande. Hypnos upplevs ofta positivt, vilsamt för såväl klienter som terapeut. Terapeutens ensamarbete underlättas. Hur: Direkt och indirekt hypnos används, med och utan övrig familj närvarande, utifrån klientens behov. Namnet klinisk hypnos överväger, men ”visualisering, inre bild, imaginativ övning, dagdrömsteknik etc.” förekommer för att ej väcka fördomar, vilket existerar. Olika hypnostekniker exemplifieras. Diskussion: Metod och frågeställningar har god passform. Resultatet stöds av tidigare forskning och teoribildning samt pekar på nyheter; omfattningen, vikten av möjligheten att arbeta tyst, med medföljande personal, självhypnos, minska lugnande medicinering, vilsamt för terapeuten. Varför metoden ej är vidare spridd, beforskad diskuteras. Vetenskapliga studier om hypnos efterfrågas.
Purpose: To increase knowledge on clinical hypnosis within the context of family/couples therapy. Questions: To what extent is hypnosis utilized? When? For what reasons, and how? Method: Qualitative, explorative. 10 interviews were made. Results: Insight is given in systemic hypnotherapy, which could form a preliminary to further research. Scope: Hypnosis is used in 0 - 100% of cases, most common in 40 - 50 %. When: For depression, anxiety, affective-, communication-, sex & relationshipproblems, with dissociative clients, trauma, eating disorders, clients with autistic traits or bodily symtoms; pain, gastrointestinal problems, high blood pressure. Hypnosis is especially rewarding when family is affected by the problem. Reasons: Hypnosis is salutogenic, adds tools for interaction and processing that reach nonverbal levels, can give body reactions. Hypnosis is regarded gentle, healing, increasing efficiency. Hypnosis often gives positive, restful experiences, for clients and therapist. Hypnosis facilitates working alone. How: Direct and indirect hypnosis is used, with or without family present, based on the clients needs . The term clinical hypnosis dominates, allthough "visualization, mental image, imaginative exercise, reverie technique etc." appears to not arouse prejudice. Hypnotic techniques are exemplified. Discussion: Method and issues are well fit. The result is supported by earlier research/theories, pointing to news; scope, the importance of the possibility to work in silence, with escorts, reduction of sedatives, selfhypnosis, restfulness for the therapist. Why the method is not further spread, researched is discussed. Scientific studies of hypnosis are requested.

Syftet med denna uppsats och enkätundersökning var att undersöka vilka attityder som råder till hypnos bland ett brett urval av människor. De variabler som förväntades kunna predicera attityden var: egen erfarenhet av hypnos, motivation att göra en förändring, kännedom om alternativa behandlingsmetoder, personlighetsdimensionen Openness, andlighet/transcendens, och där kön togs med som kontrollvariabel. Regressionsanalysen visade på en signifikant modell som förklarade variansen med ca 30%. Två variabler var signifikanta: egen erfarenhet av hypnos och kännedom om alternativa metoder. Motivation visade på en trend till signifikans. Trots att endast ca 13% hade egen erfarenhet av hypnos var denna variabel drivande i modellen. Resultatet visade sammanfattningsvis på en generellt mer positiv attityd till och intresse för hypnos, än en negativ attityd och rädsla. Urvalet bestod av en övervägande andel kvinnor vilket påverkar resultatets generaliserbarhet. En fråga för framtida forskning är vilka variabler som bidrar till att man inledningsvis använder sig av hypnos.

Alta demanda de energia e mudanÃas climÃticas globais tÃm gerado interesse dos governantes mundiais para investir em pesquisas de fontes alternativas e renovÃveis de combustÃveis. Nessa perspectiva, as macroalgas vÃm ganhando ampla atenÃÃo por parte de pesquisadores do mundo inteiro como fonte alternativa renovÃvel de biomassa para a produÃÃo de bioetanol, o qual à denominado atualmente de combustÃvel de âterceira geraÃÃoâ. A utilizaÃÃo das algas marinhas como matÃria-prima para produÃÃo de bioetanol apresenta vantagens, tais como (1) nÃo competiÃÃo com a produÃÃo de alimentos, (2) alto conteÃdo de carboidratos, (3) baixo conteÃdo de lignina e (4) alta produtividade. O potencial da alga marinha vermelha Hypnea musciformis em fornecer carboidratos fermentescÃveis para a produÃÃo de bioetanol foi avaliado no presente trabalho. A alga foi obtida de cultivo comercial, localizado na praia de Flecheiras, municÃpio de Trairi, Cearà e apÃs lavagem, secagem e trituraÃÃo, 5 g foram adicionados a 100 mL de HCl (0,2; 0,5 e 1,0 M) em erlenmeyers, autoclavados a 121 ÂC (10, 20 e 30 min). Foi observada a presenÃa de galactose (7,4 â 10,8 g.L-1) e glucose (3,4 â 4,7 g.L-1) em todos os hidrolisados e a condiÃÃo de hidrÃlise 0,5/20, apresentando uma concentraÃÃo de glicose + galactose de 14,8 g.L-1, foi selecionada para os ensaios de fermentaÃÃo dos monossacarÃdeos por Saccharomyces cerevisiae a 30ÂC. Os resultados mostraram que a glicose e a galactose, foram consumidas simultaneamente, no entanto esse consumo sà foi iniciado apÃs 7 h de fermentaÃÃo e apÃs 52 h, 82,5 % da glicose e 72% da galactose tinham sido consumidas, com uma produÃÃo mÃxima de 5,3 g.L-1 de bioetanol, representando uma eficiÃncia fermentativa de 50% do teÃrico e evidenciando a habilidade da S. cerevisiae em fermentar a galactose proveniente de matÃria-prima algÃcea com um rendimento de 0,1 g de bioetanol/g de alga seca. Observou-se, na condiÃÃo de hidrÃlise selecionada, uma maior velocidade especÃfica de consumo de substrato acompanhado da velocidade de produÃÃo de etanol. Os rendimentos de etanol baseados no consumo de substrato (glucose + galactose) e biomassa foram 0,315 e 0,08 (g/g), respectivamente. As produtividades de biomassa e etanol foram 0,008 g.L-1.h-1 e 0,100 g.L-1.h-1, respectivamente. Com os dados obtidos pode-se concluir que a alga marinha H. musciformis se mostrou uma potencial fonte renovÃvel de biomassa para a produÃÃo de etanol. No entanto, sÃo necessÃrios mais estudos para otimizar o processo produtivo de bioetanol a partir desses organismos.
High energy demand and global climate changes have generated interest in world leaders to invest in research on alternative and renewable fuels. In this perspective, the macroalgae are gaining wide attention from researchers around the world as an alternative source of renewable biomass for bioethanol production, which is currently called fuel "third generation". The use of seaweed as a feedstock for bioethanol production has advantages such as (1) no competition with food production, (2) high carbohydrates content, (3) low lignin content and (4) high productivity. The potential of the red seaweed Hypnea musciformis to provide fermentable carbohydrates for bioethanol production was evaluated in this study. The algae was obtained from a commercial cultivation, located on the Flecheiras beach, Trairi, Cearà and after washing, drying and grinding 5 g were added to 100 mL HCl (0.2, 0.5 and 1.0 M) in Erlenmeyer flasks, autoclaved at 121 ÂC (10, 20 and 30 min). It was observed the presence of galactose (7.4 to 10.8 g.L-1) and glucose (3.4 to 4.7 g.L-1) in all hydrolyzed and the hydrolysis condition 0.5/20, with a concentration of glucose + galactose 14.8 g.L-1, was selected for testing fermentation of monosaccharides by Saccharomyces cerevisiae at 30  C. The results showed that glucose and galactose were consumed simultaneously, however this consumption only started after 7 h of fermentation and after 52 h, 82.5% of glucose and 72% galactose had been consumed, with a maximum yield of 5.3 g.L-1 of ethanol, it represents a fermentation efficiency of 50% theory and showing the ability of S. cerevisiae ferment galactose from algal feedstock with a yield of 0.1 g ethanol/g dry seaweed. It was observed in the hydrolysis condition selected, a higher specific rate of the substrate consumption accompanied by the rate of ethanol production. The ethanol yields based on consumption of substrates (glucose + galactose) and biomass were 0.315 and 0.08 (g/g) respectively. The biomass and ethanol productivity were 0.008 g.L-1.h-1 and 0.100 g.L-1.h-1, respectively. With the date obtained it can be conclude that the red seaweed H. musciformis showed be a potential renewable source of biomass for the production of bioethanol. However, other studies are needed to optimize the production process of bioethanol from these organisms.

Resumo: O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a viabilidade econômica e a sustentabilidade do cultivo da macroalga Hypnea pseudomusciformis. Foi avaliada a viabilidade econômica do cultivo direcionado à venda para extração de carragena, consumo humano direto e como extrato glicólico, considerando diferentes escalas produtivas. A análise econômica clássica mostrou viabilidade financeira da venda de algas para consumo humano e extrato glicólico, com taxa interna de retorno variando de 21 à 119% e payback de 1 à 6 anos, e lucratividade proporcional ao aumento da escala produtiva. No entanto, a venda para extração de carragena mostrou-se inviável, mesmo com o aumento da produção. Para mensuração da sustentabilidade, foram aplicados indicadores de sustentabilidade econômica, social e ambiental no cultivo de H. pseudomusciformis para consumo humano. Os indicadores de sustentabilidade mostraram que a atividade apresenta elevado desempenho ambiental, social e econômico. O cultivo apresenta alta eficiência de uso dos recursos, sendo de 383% para energia e 1,860% para o fósforo. Também foi observada a absorção de fósforo e carbono, que foram convertidos em pagamento de externalidades positivas no valor de 2 US$.kg-1. Além disso, o cultivo indicadores de inclusão superiores à 70%, com a taxa interna de retorno de 142% e payback de 1 ano. Abstract: The present study aimed to assess the economic feasibility and sustainability of the seaweed Hypnea pseudomusciformis farming. Was evaluated the economic feasibility of seaweed farming aiming the carrageenan industry, human consumption, and cosmetic industry, considering different farm scales. The classical economic analysis showed the financial feasibility of selling seaweed for human consumption and glycolic extract, with the internal rate of return varying from 21 to 119% and payback from 1 to 6 years, with profitability proportional to the increase of farm scale. However, the sale for carrageenan extraction was infeasible, even with upscaling production. We use application of economic, social and environmental sustainability indicators to measure the sustainability of H. pseudomusciformis farming for human consumption. The sustainability indicators showed that activity presents high environmental, social and economic performance. Seaweed farm presents high efficiency of use of the resources, being of 383% for energy and 1,860% for phosphorus. Also, seaweed farm offers phosphorus and carbon absorption which were changed in positive externalities of 2 US$.kg-1 by production. Resumen
We present the description of our system that was ranked third in the noun sub-track of the Taxonomy Enrichment for the Russian Language shared task offered by Dialogue Evaluation 2020. Our best-performing system appears against the backdrop of other methods and their combinations attempted, and its results argue in favour of Occam’s razor for this task. A simple supervised classifier was trained on static distributional embeddings of hyponym words as features and their numeric hypernym synset identifiers from the taxonomy as class labels. It outperformed more complicated approaches based on learning linear projections from hyponym embeddings to hypernym embeddings and returning synset identifiers for the nearest neighbours of the predicted vectors. Training specially tailored word embeddings for ruWordNet multi-word expressions proved to be one of the key factors for both approaches.
