Texto completoDomain knowledge is a prerequisite to produce software design and implementation tailored to stakeholders’ requirements. One common way to formalize that knowledge is achieved through conceptual models, which are commonly used to describe or simulate a system. Acquiring such expertise requires to discuss with knowledgeable stakeholders and/or to get an access to useful documents, which both might not always be easily accessible. In the same time, more and more model samples can be gathered from multiple sources, what represents an increasing number of already formalized and accessible knowledge pieces. For example, some companies keep archives of internal model repositories. There also exist numerous open source projects that contain models while some modeling tools even offer the possibility to create public projects that are free to browse. Such data sources could be exploited to create domain knowledge that could be provided to software engineers while modeling. To be useful, this knowledge must be of high quality, but must also be well integrated into the software modeling process. The focus of this thesis is to provide a framework to exploit knowledge to assist users of computer-based modeling tools with software modeling assistants. This thesis first introduces our research questions based on a systematic mapping study about software assistants for software engineering, and then focuses on software assistants for modeling. It reports on the design of modeling assistants based on a user-centered approach. We present the conclusions of interviews conducted with experts in modeling, a stage in which requirements are collected. Then, we develop the creation of a prototype modeling knowledge base allowing (i) to create general and specific artificial modeling knowledge, and (ii) to make them available to any software client via recommendations. After introducing the results of an experiment regarding the accuracy of the system, we discuss these preliminary results. Finally, this thesis presents a software modeling assistant implementation integrated to the Papyrus tool, which aims to cognify the UML modeling environment by integrating the previously created knowledge. Our work helps to clarify the need for assistance during software modeling work, presents an initial approach to the design of software assistants for software modeling, and identify research challenges in modeling assistance

Texto completoThis piece of work concerns the concept of ingenium in Spinoza’s philosophy, which corresponds to the singular affective complexion of a man or of the people. Because of its univocity, it constitutes a pivotal concept of the system, which raises ethical and political issues, but also physical, ontological and epistemological ones. First, I analyse the relations between the ingenium of a man and the notion of individual, the singular essence of a man, and the different kinds of knowledge. The aim is to demonstrate that the concept of ingenium allows us to think the individualization of men through affects and their affective identity. The notion of identity is decentered on several aspects. Then I deal with the people’s unity and identity from the perspective of the concept of ingenium. This doctoral thesis supports the idea that the people is not an individual in the meaning of Ethics II, even if he tends to be close to it. The ingenium of the people defines nonetheless the affective identity of the people, and questions again the notion of identity. Besides, this doctoral thesis aims at determining the part of imitation of others and invention of the self in the constitution of the ingenium. If the imitation of others refers primarily to the imitation of affects, the invention of the self can be understood as a discovery, but also as an art which implies the invention of rules for the conduct of life. The imitation of others appears as the most determining in the genesis of the ingenium made of passions, but the ingenium of the free man and the wise are more determined by the invention of the self. The free man discovers his own nature and recovers himself as a part of the whole, but he also exerts himself to apply the rule of the right conduct in life. The wise learns to know his essence, but he also discovers what goes beyond his individuality within himself, the intellect, which constitutes, with other eternal modes of thinking, the intellect of God. Thus, the discovery of the self aims at the discovery of a we. At the level of the people, the imitation of affects assumes a decisive role in the constitution of the people’s complexion. The rulers shall also invent institutions which are adequate to the ingenium of the people. This invention is firstly understood as the discovery of a we through history. It also takes the form of an art which implies the invention of rules for the life in a community. Indeed, Spinoza articulates the normative requirement to create institutions in accordance with the people’s complexion. It matters to obtain the people’s consent to the laws so that the exercise of the imperium is legitimate

This thesis aims to investigate how a certain and defined man can be free in a universe determined to exist exclusively by the necessity of Deus sive Natura, as Benedict Spinoza affirm. Therefore, it does the review of this author emphasizing his books Ethica and Tractatus de Intellectus Emendatione and some of his commentators. It starts with the Spinoza’s idea of the existence of a unique absolutely infinite substance – Deus sive Natura – self-cause of itself and the entire universe (spinozist model of causality). It makes explicit as the man having reformed his intellect or his intelligence he can know himself and the others things by their adequate causes which leads him to learn and understand himself and the things in his (their) perfect reality. It is discussed this man, adequate cause of himself, and the consequences for his existence with himself (conatus) in the encounter (occursus) with the other (the other man).An ethical perspective, known things by their adequate causes by an absolute affective rationalism (emotional reason), the man acts actively, composing with the other man a relationship of friendship. Trying to persevere himself in his being, he respects and preserves the other, resulting in the increase of his (their) power(s) to act and his (their) energy(s) to exist. This understanding can result in the establishment of the closest state of human nature: the democratic state. So, finally, it is concluded that the free and autonomous man in God is the spiritual automaton. He is free when – having the proper knowledge of things – he is, operates, moves, lives and exists in act according to what God commands him. He knows God and this is the beatitude.

Várias espécies do gênero Acanthamoeba podem causar ceratite e encefalite amebiana granulomatosa. A avaliação dos critérios de patogenicidade é de grande importância para analisar o risco de infecção. Nossos objetivos foram determinar o potencial patogênico de isolados ambientais de Acanthamoeba de Brasília, DF e avaliar uma técnica de purificação de cultivos de Acanthamoeba. A análise da sequência do 18S rDNA revelou que: entre os 19 isolados estudados, oitoapresentaram similaridade com o genótipo T5, seis com o genótipo T4 e um com o genótipo T2/T6. Os genótipos dos outros quatro isolados não foram determinados. A cepa de referência Acanthamoeba polyphaga (ATCC 30461) serviu de controle. Além disso, 11 isolados (58%) cresceram a 37°C e oito (42%) cresceram em presença de manitol 1,5 M, parâmetros fisiológicos associados com isolados patogênicos de Acanthamoeba, enquanto quatro isolados de água de piscina e um de ceratite apresentaram elevado potencial patogênico. Nos testes de patogenicidade in vivo, realizados com três isolados e a cepa de referência ATCC30461, o isolado de córnea foi considerado patogênico e dois isolados ambientais,invasivos. Foi possível reduzir a porcentagem de fungos e bactérias em uma placa de cultura da cepa de referência ATCC 30461 e de bactérias em uma placa de cultura de um isolado de solo com a inoculação na cavidade peritoneal de camundongos. Nossos resultados indicam ampla distribuição de isolados de Acanthamoeba spp. similares aos genótipos T4, T5 e T2/T6, classificados como invasivos, em diversos habitats de Brasília, DF, revelando o risco potencial de infecção humana e a necessidade de medidas preventivas. _________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
Several Acanthamoeba species may cause keratitis and granulomatous amebic encephalitis. The evaluation of the criteria of pathogen city is very important to assess the risk of infection. We aimed to determine the pathogenic potential of environ mental isolates of Acanthamoeba from Brasília, DF, Brazil, and assess technique to purify Acanthamoeba cultures. Sequence analysis of 18S rDNArevealed that: among the 19 isolates tested, eight were similar to genotype T5, six to genotype T4, and one to genotype T2/T6. The genotypes of the remaining four isolates were not determined. The reference Acanthamoeba polyphaga strain (ATCC30461) was the control. Moreover, 11 strains (58%) presented growth at 37°C and eight (42%) developed in medium containing 1.5 M mannitol, the physiological parameters associated with pathogenic isolates of Acanthamoeba, whereas fours trains isolated from swimming pool water and one from a patient with keratitisshowed high pathogenic potential. In vivo pathogen city tests, performed with three isolates and the reference strain ATCC 30461, showed that the isolate from a patient with keratitis was considered pathogenic and two environmental isolates, invasive. It was possible to reduce the percentage of fungi and bacteria in a culture plate of the reference strain ATCC 30461 and bacteria in a culture plate of one soil isolate byinoculating them into the peritoneal cavity of mice. Our results indicate a wide distribution of Acanthamoeba spp. isolates similar to genotypes T4, T5, and T2/T6, classified as invasive, isolated from several habitats of Brasília, DF, revealing the potential risk of human infection and the need for preventive measures.

Texto completoAApart from his latest film Resnais has always been reluctant about the adaptation of novels despite working for many years exclusively with writers who were mainly novelists. However, Providence (1977), his first film ever to have been written by a professional playwright, stages an elderlywriter, sick and alcoholic, in the course of imagining scenes, alternating between the horrific and the comic, of an ultimate novel the heroes of which are none other than his own next of kin. This paradox constitutes the core of the present essay which is centered around a film of rare precision regarding the literary creation, and its diptycal structure provides a deep insight into the links of fiction and reality. By rehabilitating the notion of “literary cinema”, while bursting the far too limiting frame of adaptation, and while presenting the storytelling rather than the showing as Resnais’ major engagement, the present analysis explores the more intimate relations between books and films. While enabling the return to fundamental novelists of modernity such as Melville, Proust and Faulkner, Resnais’ cinematographic machine may find in their texts its most efficient use. Through its active mise en abyme Providence reveals the profound affinities between writing novels and committing suicide. Tormented by his wife’s suicide which he places in the centre of a story where the elderly, transformed into werewolves, are locked in the extermination stages of a state of terror, at the heart of his nocturnal manor in Providence, the grantécrivain and pathetic demiurge is struggling to frighten us with his own agony. This probably makes him the most truthful of all abymed writers in cinema

O objetivo deste estudo foi interpretar os sentidos e significados que os homens atribuem ao comer, ao corpo e a saúde no contexto de uma feira livre da cidade de Salvador-Bahia. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa de cunho etnográfico, em que foram realizadas entrevistas com oito homens frequentadores da Feira das Sete Portas, e dois informantes-chave. Como resultados, buscou-se descrever o cotidiano da feira, situada na mediação entre a casa e a rua bem como a cidade e o campo, como um espaço de comensalidade no qual o universo masculino tem uma expressão particular. Deste modo, a Feira se constitui como ponto de confraternização masculina e de alimento para o trabalho, no qual a feijoada é emblemática neste processo. Destacou-se ainda a bebida alcóolica como outro importante elemento de socialização entre os homens em uma relação sinérgica com o consumo das denominadas comidas pesadas. Tais modos de comer fazem parte da construção da identidade masculina marcada pela construção do corpo forte, viril que coaduna com as relações com o comer voraz, mas também sobre a ideia do comer a comida “pesada” para recompor as forças debilitadas pelo desgaste físico provocado pelo excessivo uso do corpo, a exemplo do trabalho. No que se refere aos discursos sobre a alimentação saudável, estes estão sendo mais aceitos pelos homens, mesmo havendo contextos de resistência. Assim, os contextos de compartilhamento dessas lógicas de saúde aparentam serem fundamentais para propiciarem reformulações inclusive dos significados do saudável na esfera masculina para que a incorporação não implique na perda de elementos da masculinidade. Eles buscam se sentir bem, atraentes, fortes, elementos considerados da masculinidade tradicional, mas, no entanto, tem dialogado com as configurações de masculinidade contemporânea do cuidado com a aparência respaldado no discurso da higiene, saúde e da sedução.

Texto completoThis PhD thesis focuses on Frédéric de Marselaer (1584/6-1670), mayor of the city, deputy burgomaster of Brussels city in the 17th century. Coming from Antwerp, this man of power has also written several printed and hand-written treatises which have achieved a certain success. This double experience in politics and in literature field allows to explore how a man gets into a group: the social elites. The emphasis lies in particular on cultural dimension, especially, writing as medium for social inclusion in elites in the 17th century in the Southern Netherlands. This research is developed over three parts. The first investigate the status of writer and the way to perceive oneself as an author or to be recognised by the others. The analysis, reconstruction and setting in context of printed and hand-written work of Marselaer let appear his position of author between conformism and originality. The second part is an in-depth study of some chapters extracted from one of his treatise, the Legatus, with the aim of investigating his view of power, developed with ideal and realist conceptions. The last part focuses on the mechanisms of the power in studying the models and the role models which underpin a good reputation, the influence of the network on creation and diffusion of this ideal representation and the goals which underlie this approach. At last, it appears that the culture, combined with others elements, is a determining factor to integrate the elites’world.

Texto completoThe recognition of family planning as a right is recent, having been consolidated in Brazil as a fundamental right as from the enactment of the Federal Constitution in 1988, in accordance with 226, § 7º. Despite its recent status, significant progress has been achieved, both nationally and internationally, as it is the case of its conceptual consolidation in international documents. Yet, the outcomes of the national public policies of family planning are below the normative and conceptual conquests, since the the referred measures have not resulted in equitable and adequate practices of family planning. The objective of this research is to identify the reasons the fundamental right did not become effective in family planning, with the aim of contributing to problem solving. For this purpose, it will be demonstrated how the historical inequality between men and women influences in the exercise of rights to family planning, from a critical analysis of patriarchy, maternity and gender relations. The main international documents relating to the rights to family planning will be analyzed in order to expose the historical evolution of such rights in Brazil, based on the contributions resulting from the National Constituent Assembly. An overview of the public policies of family planning developed, most specifically, since the 1980s will be carried out. In this context, a comparative study of the experiences in Argentina, Sweden, and China regarding family planning shall be carried out, with the purpose of supporting the proposition of a new practice for Brazil. And to corroborate the considerations above, the contributions of international theoreticians as Amartya Sen, Martha Nussbaum and Nancy Fraser are equally important to advocate that there is no gender equity, remaining the false assumption that women are naturally fit to perform caring and educational activities, typical of home environment. Finally, following the observations that, in order to turn the rights to free family planning effective, it is essential that equal opportunities for men and women be guaranteed, both at public and private level and the co-responsibility paradigm is proposed as a way to overcome the inefficient reality of Brazilian public policies. O reconhecimento do planejamento familiar como um direito é recente, tendo se consubstanciado, no Brasil, como um direito fundamental com a promulgação da Constituição Federal de 1988, com o disposto no artigo 226, § 7º. A pesar de esse status ser recente, avanços significativos têm sido alcançados, tanto no âmbito nacional quanto no internacional, a exemplo da sua consolidação conceitual em documentos internacionais. Os resultados das políticas públicas nacionais de planejamento familiar, todavía, estão aquém das conquistas normativas e conceituais obtidas, uma vez que referidas medidas não se traduzem em práticas igualitárias e adequadas de planejamento familiar. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar as causas da não efetivação do direito fundamental ao planejamento familiar, com o fito de contribuir para a solução do problema. Para tanto, será demonstrado o modo como a histórica desigualdade entre homens e mulheres influencia no exercício do direito ao planejamento familiar, a partir de uma análise crítica sobre o patriarcado, a maternidade e as relações de gênero. Os principais documentos internacionais relativos ao direito ao planejamento familiar serão analisados para, em seguida, se expor a evolução histórica desse direito no Brasil, partindo-se das contribuições oriundas da Assembleia Nacional Constituinte. Será realizado, também, um apanhado sobre as políticas públicas de planejamento familiar desenvolvidas, especialmente, desde os anos de 1980. Nesse contexto, proceder-se-á, ainda, a um estudo comparado sobre as experiências da Argentina, da Suécia e da China concernentes ao planejamento familiar, com o intuito de auxiliar na proposição de uma nova prática para o Brasil. Aliem-se a isso as contribuições de teóricos internacionais, como Amartya Sen, Martha Nussbaum e Nancy Fraser, para corroborar a defesa de que não há equidade de gênero, remanescendo a falsa premissa de que as mulheres são naturalmente talhadas para desempenhar atividades de cuidado e educação, típicas do ambiente doméstico. Por fim, ante a constatação de que para se efetivar o direito ao livre planejamento familiar, é imprescindível que se garantam iguais oportunidades para homens e mulheres, tanto na esfera pública quanto privada, propõe-se o paradigma da corresponsabilidade, apresentado por Maria Elósegui, como um caminho para se superar a realidade de ineficiência das políticas públicas brasileiras. Texto completoIn order to provide a space of acceptance for sheltered children to be able to retrieve their individuality and express their experiences of loss, it was created, in 2013, an extension project for observation and intervention in a Free-Expression Painting Studio with children of a foster home in Sao Paulo, which worked for one year and three months. We followed the methodology developed by Michel Ternoy, developed in France, and implemented in Brazil by the Department of Psychiatry of UNIFESP, from 1999 to 2017, with adult psychiatric patients, anchored to the phenomenon-structural method of Eugène Minkowski. The Studios activities were performed at the psychological Clinic of the University of São Paulo, at the CEIP School Center of the Institute of Psychology of USP (Centro Escola do Instituto de Psicologia da USP, in Portuguese), with thirteen sheltered children and teenagers, aged between 4 and 16 years. This present research proposes to discuss the possibility of phenomeno-structural understanding of the world of each child from its personal, spontaneous and peculiar semantics, expressed in their graphisms and verbalization. In a proposal for dialogue between clinical psychology and phenomenology, we will discuss the material produced in the Studio (drawings and records of the sessions), from concepts present in Winnicotts theory and Minkowski\'s phenomeno-structural analysis. We concluded that the Free-Expression Painting Studio has been set up as an important modality, since it offers a work from medium to long term that allows: the establishment of positive bonds in a stable environment through a well-defined framework; the follow-up of its participants evolution; and also offers the possibility of a psychodiagnosis within the perspective of the phenomeno-structural analysis, allowing the detection of early aspects of the personality that may need a closer attention. Therefore, we consider that the applicability of the Free-Expression Painting Studio, as a group attendance modality, in the caring of sheltered children and adolescents, is valid

Texto completoSince the beginning of their artistic recognition in the 1990s, Japanese photographers Homma Takashi (born in 1962), Kawauchi Rinko (1972-), Sanai Masafumi (1968-) and Yamamoto Masao (1957-) have published numerous photobooks. By favouring the book over the exhibition to display their works, they turned it into a space where Western reflections and traditional Japanese models intersect, especially aesthetic and literary ones. The four photographers all take their inspiration from their own environment, but similarities can also be observed in the photographic subjects, production processes and page settings.In an expanded study of the history of photobooks in Japan, the exemplary approaches of these four artists will enable to develop and to analyse how photography publishing practices have fed – and are still feeding – the renewal of Japanese contemporary photography. Using the book (an object that can be easily carried, handled and mechanically reproduced) makes it necessary to wonder about the circulation and the critical reception of the artists’ work, both in Japan and abroad. Nos romances de Machado de Assis aparece com freqüência a figura do agregado. Agregado era o indivíduo livre e pobre que necessitava viver às sombras de um senhor para a manutenção de sua existência. Na sociedade brasileira do século XIX, o modo de produção escravista e monocultor, tirava do homem livre praticamente todas as possibilidades de integração à produção mercantil. Sem ter como se sustentar, e vivendo em um país em que o domínio dos senhores sobrepujavam a impessoalidade das leis, o vínculo criado com estes senhores era, muitas vezes, a única forma que possuíam para garantir a sobrevivência. A sua situação frágil o privava, muitas vezes, de um existir autônomo. A proximidade e quase familiaridade com senhor, o colocava em uma situação ambígua: ao mesmo tempo tinha reconhecidos seus predicados humanos e lhe era atribuída desclassificação social. As ambigüidades da vida agregada possibilitam uma multiplicidade de ações e acomodações que são bastante exploradas por Machado de Assis em seus romances. Utilizando a obra de Machado de Assis, esse trabalho buscou explorar as possibilidades de articulação entre essas duas esferas sociais. A estrutura histórica forjou o autoritário pensamento senhorial; As doutrinas do além-mar (positivismo, realismo, naturalismo), ajudaram a validar sua crença de superioridade. Ao agregado, que não podia contar com as normas impessoais, restou a tentativa de sobreviver sem poder contestar diretamente uma ordem rigidamente hierarquizada. Imobilizado por essa hierarquia, ele encontraria na manipulação da vontade senhorial sua única alternativa de alcançar seus interesses. Se as doutrinas cientificistas da época – as mesmas usadas como justificativa de dominação por parte dos senhores – percebiam o indivíduo de forma animalesca e, portanto, descaracterizava o agregado como um agente social, Machado de Assis resgatava o ser moral permitindo a ele o direito ao cálculo e a perfídia. Essa era mais uma sutileza do pessimismo irônico de Machado de Assis: a capacidade de humanizar por meio da relativização. Machado de Assis não negou os indivíduos. Sua obra mostrou que a luta pelo poder, por interesses pessoais e pela autonomia perpetuam, posto que a sociedade seja rigidamente hierarquizada. Afinal, antes de ser hierárquica ela é dinâmica; seja nos romances de Machado de Assis, seja nos conflitos da vida real. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
In the romances from Machado de Assis the “agregado” appear quite often. “Agregado” is denomination for the free poor man who was forced to live under a Master’s protection. At the19th century Brazilian society, the slavery and mocultural system of production take from the free poor man all the possibilities he had to get integrated to the productive system. As a consequence the free poor man could not afford his own expenses; also he was unprotected by State once that the political system was dominated by the land’s owners oligarchies. His only alternative to survive was to be linked to those powerful men. The autonomy of the “agregado” was null. However, he lived quite close from the Masters; close enough to share his familiar life. By on hand the “agregado” was considerated as someone close to the master who he was liked, by the other hand he was his social status was debased. This double situation allowed the “agregado” to lead the live in a several different ways. He never acted directly against his masters wishes, but he tried to manipulated the situations in order to guarantee a bigger autonomy. The racialist theories from that time took the humanity from these kind of people. When Machado de Assis showed the manipulation’s capacity of the “agregado” he allowed this character to have a soul: his not a blind animal any more, but someone who fights to keep his own identity. In spite of the existence of a strong hierarchy at the Brazilian society the society still dynamic. Machado de Assis was able to revel this situation. That happens at his romances, that is not different at the real life.

Texto completoUnknown to a great majority, G. Palewski played a significant role in the French social and political life for about fifty years. He indeed led an enterprising and wide-ranging professional career : Cabinet Head, member of the Free French Forces, RPF activist, minister, deputy, ambassador and President of the Constitutional Council. Born in Paris in 1901, he studied in France and in Oxford as well. In 1924-1925, he was posted to the Field Marshal Lyautey's office in Morocco. He became one of P. Reynaud's assistant in 1928. In 1934 he realized how decisive his meeting with Colonel De Gaulle would be. As a matter of fact, De Gaulle's ideas had such an impact on G. Palewski that he decided to leave P. Renaud at the beginning of 1940. In August the same year, he enlisted in De Gaulle's Free French organisation located in London. He became Cabinet Head of the Chief of the Free French Forces in London, Algiers and Paris. One of the founders of the Rassemblement du Peuple Français in 1947, activist with oratory skills, he was elected deputy in 1951. For a few months in 1955 he came to be minister for nuclear matters in E. Faure's government. From 1957 to 1962, he represented France as an ambassador in Rome. He was once again State Minister for scientific research, nuclear and spatial matters. He completed his political career as President of the Constitutional Council from 1965 to 1974. He was to die in 1984. Famous for his Gaullist commitment, Gaston Palewski was a trustworthy, outgoing, broad-minded modern man. He would be reminded as a man who lived in the shadow of three strong characters of the twentieth century: Field Marshal Lyautey, Paul Reynaud and General de Gaulle

Texto completoThe point of our study is to show that the speeches delivered by Felipe Gonzalez and José Maria Aznar, the two Spanish Prime Ministers, to the Members of Parliament in which they explained the conclusions drawn from European Councils, represent a textual dimension that is made of communicative strategies that were either required by the Community institution and the Parliamentary institution embodied by the two utterers or chosen by the two Prime Ministers.Our study, based on certified parliamentary speeches and focusing on the diachronic dimension of the successive electoral mandates of the two Prime Ministers (1987-2003), tries to evaluate on a discursive, linguistic and thematic level (using lexicometrical tools available with Lexico 3 and Coocs softwares) to what extent the European Council and the Parliament exert some leverage on the speeches and how the utterers free themselves from the institutional constraints, using the political speech as a strategic and rhetorical alternative. Thus, these lexical statistics enable us - to extract «thematic words» that shape our speeches and lexical networks that are built on lexical attractions (co-occurences), to shed some lights on the relation existing between a lexical occurence and a historical event which will allow us to grasp the Spanish dimension of it; - to compare the speeches of our two utterers in order to underline the regular lexical patterns and the discursive specificities that will lead us to sketch out the stylistic and thematic characterisation of the two politicians

Texto completoThe participation of free men in the movements led by rebellious slaves sets a complex problem in terms of the importance of the freedom/slavery antinomy in the thinking of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The chattel-slaves, defined as things, were represented as foreigners. The slaves served as the ‘Others’ against which all citizens, from the rich slave owners to the poor artisans and peasants, defined themselves as a unity. The contrast between the slave and the citizen made it possible to shade, from an ideological point of view, the relations of exploitation and the differences of wealth between the citizens. This tended to suppress the social conflict between them. Despite the significant legal and political differences between the free and the enslaved, and the ideological representation that was made of it, the sources narrate that some free men not only did not repress the rebel slaves in the great servile revolts, in solidarity with their rich fellow citizens, but they plundered these last ones or joined the fugitives. In the present work, we study the participation of impoverished free men (aporoi) in the late-republican servile wars and the relationship they established with the rebel slaves, a problem that has sometimes been neglected by the historiography or only partially treated. Some historiographical currents neglected the participation of the aporoi in the servile wars, and others overestimate it. In opposition, we revalue a line of investigation that, on the one hand, maintains the servile nature of the insurrections, since, the main role was apparently of the rebel slaves, but on the other hand affirms that the participation of free men was an important element. We believe that this point of view is the most appropriate for the testimonies of the sources and we contribute elements to rethink it. Those elements include: to focus the study within the framework of the classic democratic imaginary that will tend to promote the citizen solidarity facing the servile threat; to analyse each revolt individually to evaluate the relationship between the subaltern sectors; and understand the participation of the aporoi, either its parallel rebellion or its inflow to the rebel ranks, as the symptom of tensions within the citizen body that can be defined in terms of stáseis (civil discords), of which the servile revolts nurtured from the beginning. Therefore, the participation of the aporoi is a factor, among others, that helped the growth of the servile revolts. In the case of the first Sicilian revoit and the revoit of Spartacus, we maintain the existence of a conjunctural alliance between the rebellious slaves and the aporoi .In contrast, in the second Sicilian revoit, we defend the interpretative line that supports the idea that there was no relationship between the two groups, but rather two parallel revolts: the free poor simply took advantage of the opportunity in the servile revoit to plunder the properties of the rich. Our work attempts to nuance the most rigid theoretical views that affirm the absolute incommunicability between plebeians and slaves. There were occasions, albeit unusual, where the abyss that separated the free man from the slave did not seem to be so great, at least not to the aporoi, who ignored the imaginary that pitted them against the dishonored social dead. Publicada entre os anos de 1956 e 1970, a Revista do Livro era o órgão oficial do Instituto Nacional do Livro. Seu projeto foi retomado pelo Departamento Nacional do Livro - subordinado à Fundação Biblioteca Nacional - em 2002. Idealizada pelo poeta gaúcho Augusto Meyer, a revista reuniu em suas páginas nomes significativos da intelectualidade brasileira em suas diferentes fases de publicação, que coincidiram com diferentes momentos polÃticos brasileiros. Sua primeira fase, de 1956 a 1961, compreende exatamente o perÃodo do Governo de Juscelino Kubitschek e possui 24 números divididos em 20 volumes. Sua segunda fase, de 1964 a 1970, ocorreu durante o perÃodo da Ditadura Militar no Brasil, com 19 números publicados em 17 volumes. E sua terceira e atual fase, iniciada em 2002, coincide com a eleição de LuÃs Inácio Lula da Silva, do Partido dos Trabalhadores para a Presidência da República e recupera a sequência numérica da revista. O último número lançado, em 23 de julho de 2015, foi o 55, totalizando 12 números em 12 volumes. Diante dessa proliferação de números, optamos por realizar um recorte na definição do corpus de pesquisa para a presente tese, focando na primeira fase da revista. Assim sendo, trabalharemos com os 24 primeiros números, publicados entre os anos de 1956 e 61, ampliando o olhar para a sua fase embrionária, ou seja, para os anos de planejamento e criação do Instituto Nacional do Livro e da sua revista. A presente tese sustenta a hipótese de que a Revista do Livro atuou a partir de um projeto polÃtico, literário e cultural especÃfico, cujos objetivos eram imaginar e selecionar as tradições que serviriam de base para (re)fundar a Literatura Nacional a partir da constituição de um cânone baseado nos grandes vultos da historiografia literária.
Résumé : La Revista do Livro (Revue du Livre) fut publiée au Brésil entre les années 1956 et 1970, en tant que revue officielle de l'Instituto Nacional do Livro (Institut National du Livre), organe du gouvernement fédéral du Brésil responsable de la politique publique sur le livres et les bibliothèques entre 1938 et 1970. En 2002, la Revista do Livro fut reprise par le Departamento Nacional do Livro (Département national du livre), subordonnéà la Fundação Biblioteca Nacional (Fondation bibliothèque nationale). Le projet conçu par le poète Augusto Meyer, avait attiré d'importants personnages de l'inteligentzia brésilienne au long des différentes étapes de sa publication. Chacune de cellescia correspondu à des différents moments politiques du pays. Dans sa première phase, la Revista do Livro fut publiée entre 1956 et 1961, période qui correspond à celle gouvernement du président Juscelino Kubistchek. La deuxième phase de publication, de 1964 jusqu'à 1970 correspond à la période de la dictature militaire au Brésil. La phase actuelle débuta en 2002, la même année de l'élection du président LuÃs Inácio Lula da Silva, le premier élu d'un parti de gauche à la tête du gouvernement au Brésil. Cette thèse se propose d'analyser, la première phase de publication de la Revista do Livro qui constitue son corpus. La présente thèse part de l'hypothèse que à travers la compréhension de l'action de la revue se dégage un projet politique, littéraire et culturel spécifique dont les objectives étaient d'imaginer et de sélectionner parmi les traditions brésiliennes celles qui devaient être la base de la formation d'une spécificité de la Littérature Brésilienne : la Littérature Brésilienne des « grands hommes ».

Texto completoIn a cultural history perspective based on the methods of the “visual turn” this thesis deals with the illustrated children’s literature before and during the First World War and shows that the German children’s “war culture” did not appear ex nihilo in 1914. It had its origins in the memorial culture of pre-war time, which glorified the warfare. It relied on a heroic fantasy that came from historical paintings and used emotional reflexes. 1914 provoked an intensification and development of the “war culture”. While publishers put patriotic books on the market when the war of attrition took place, these books continued to convey familiar and reassuring images of a war of movement. As hostilities lasted, kitsch drawings with children’s characters and caricatures of the enemy used to justify the conflict, stylized in a defensive war. These fun strata of the children’s “war culture”, which came from the political iconography for adults, created an expansion of readership: children from the age of three up were concerned as well as school children. However, apologetic self-images were more important than the hatred and jeer of the enemy. Together with caricatures, they reinforced the national community and dealt with the bonds between the soldiers and the home front, which became a growing concern for permanently separated families. Because of deprivations, the books became sanctimonious and aimed at mobilizing children in the home front. In this context, albums were sold to raise funds for patriotic associations. According to the number of books printed, this patriotic literature, probably targeting children from both the middle and upper classes, were a success

Texto completoThis work on the iconography of Fortune in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance is based on more than one thousand images of which only one third is reproduced in the document. The study begins with a lexicographical study aiming at better understanding the various meanings of the Latin word « fortuna » and the French word « fortune » from the xith to the xvith centuries. The second section addresses the iconographical pattern of the mediaeval Wheel of Fortune – i.e. that wheel where four human beings occupy different positions on the rim: the first ascends, the second is enthroned, the third falls and the fourth lays on the ground – from its inception in a 1060-1070 Beneventan manuscript to its diffusion to various media (mural painting, monumental sculpture, mosaic, etc.) as well as its different uses (didactic, emblematic, divinatory). The third section identifies the numerous variations that this fertile pattern has generated over the centuries: Wheel of Life, satirical animal Wheels, Wheel of Vicissitudes of Humanity, etc. The fourth section studies the personification of Fortune which appears in the xiith century before becoming a star of late mediaeval iconography, her figure gracing innumerable manuscripts of Boethius, Jean de Meun, Giovanni Boccaccio or Christine de Pizan. The First man is a posthumous novel of Albert Camus published by his daughter in 1994, thirty years after his death. The narrative focuses on Jacques Cormery, a descendant of immigration from France. After visiting the tomb of his father, he started to search the past of his ancestors and recall his own childhood. The early life of Jacques is quite similar to the experience of Camus himself. That is reason why The First man was usually considered as an autobiographical novel or a semi-autobiography. According to some letters and some notes of Camus, we infer that the author intended to make The First man a novel of education. Therefore, in the first chapter of our thesis, we treat The First man as a Bildungsroman. We compare the autobiography and the Bildungsroman, and point out the standards that make The First man a Bildungsroman. As we know, the nineteenth century was the period of rapid growth of Bildungsroman in France. Accordingly, we make the comparison between the Bildungsroman of nineteenth century and twentieth century in order to pinpoint their dissimilitude. In the second chapter, we establish firstly the connection between Camus and Jacques because of their similarities. We extend then our analysis by discussing the dilemma of Jacques and the situation of Camus during the Algerian war. The story of the novel and the attitude of Jacques are in fact the projections of the experience of the author himself. In the last chapter, we begin by studying the preface of L’Envers et l’endroit added in 1958 so as to disclose his intention of writing The First man. Therefore, we can affirm that his position was influenced by his experiences and life in Algeria, and this position was built on the humanism. The humanism of Camus is constructed by two major elements which we can observe in The First man as well: the nature and the solidarity.. In conclusion, we can say that First man is not just a novel created for expressing the author’s attachment to Algeria and his family, it’s also a way to explain and to defend his own position and the principle of his humanist thought.

Texto completoThe purpose of this essay consists in an attempt to account for the phenomenon of communication at the service of art which is already a reality but still unadopted by the curatorship agents. It is all about artvertising, an art communication project aimed at building meaningful bridges with the individual. The present thesis suggests the implementation of the assets of the meaningmaking Constructivist paradigm theory outside of the museum or art exhibition sites itself, producing the effect of contemporary art: summoning meanings, providing “intense intentions”, assisting in the emergence of autonomous free minds.
O objectivo deste trabalho consiste em dar conta de um fenómeno de comunicação ao serviço da arte, que existe, mas que ainda não foi adoptado em consciência pelos agentes da curadoria. Trata-se do artvertising, um projecto de comunicação de arte, que se interessa por estabelecer pontes de significado com o indivíduo. O presente trabalho propõe a aplicação das qualidades da teoria Construtivista – do paradigma “meaning-making” – para o exterior do espaço museológico ou expositivo, produzindo o efeito da arte contemporânea: convocar significados, proporcionar “intense intentions”, contribuir para gerar consciências autónomas e livres.
