Texto completoAn effective way to understand the formation of planets is the study of protoplanetary disks. The first images of these disks were obtained in the infrared and the millimeter in the 80s. These images unveiled for the first time the morphology of the infrared excess seen in the spectral energy distributions of young stellar objects. Since then, significant progress has been made and, in addition to the direct detection of planets, we are able to distinguish the disruption they could cause in these disks. The inner region of these disks, where the majority of planets are found, is complex as being the scene of many phenomena still poorly constrained (dust sublimation, winds, accretion). For the closest young stars, observing these regions amounts to achieve an angular resolution of the order of a milliarcsecond, unattainable with monolithic telescopes. The optical interferometry can reach such a small angle. This technique consists in combining the light of two or more telescopes to make it interfere. These interferences can be used to constrain the morphology of the observed object by using models. But to understand the phenomena involved in the inner parts of young stellar objects, it is necessary to have an independent image. Image reconstruction is possible with the recent advent of interferometers with 4 or more telescopes. The first images were able to be rebuilt. However, the central star does not allow easy access to the environment morphology. The goal of my thesis was to bypass this difficulty by developing a method of image reconstruction which is adapted to the protoplanetary environment of young stars. It consists in separating the central star of the image to reconstruct its environment while taking into account the temperature difference between the two. With this method and the VLTI interferometric instruments, I reconstructed the images of the first astronomical unit of a dozen of Herbig stars and revealed their morphologies. I was able to apply a novel geometric analysis to characterize them. Finally, I have analyzed in more detail a particular star, MWC158, which I imaged the variability that could be interpreted as a matter ejection. My thesis demonstrates the importance of the inclusion of chromatic aspects in image reconstruction and adaptation of this method to the specific characteristics of young stars

Texto completoThe central theme of the work presented in this thesis focuses on the influence of temperature and water-cement ratio on the evolution of the corn hardening concrete at early age, in recognition of the fact that the former plays an important role in the kinetics and physical structure of the hardening cement paste. Using extensive data obtained from published works, a new efficient and physically compatible model was created and tested against the three principal models in cur rent use. The model was subsequently used to predict the compressive strength create as function of time and temperature. Laboratory tests on concrete specimens. Confirmed the influence of thermal curing on the strength of concrete. On the basis of the observations gathered, thereof, the coefficients used in the new model can expressed as a function of two essential parameters : temperature of the concrete and the initial water-cement ratio. These parameters are easily identified and justified for concrete cured in a closed isothermal system. Meanwhile in the case of non-isothermal conditions, the provisional compressive strength can be obtained using a program code named « MCV ». Such a program can be validated on a construction site by comparing not only the results obtained from normalized tests but also those obtained by the method of equivalent time. Finally an appropriate tool is to predicts, using non-destruction means, the strength of concrete over

Texto completoFrench agriculture and the place of this sector in our society are the issue of many fold stakes : demographical and human problem in a context in which agricultural people are confronted with two evolutions : diminution and ageing, which sets the question whether it should be maintained and therefore what will its future be like ? secondly a territorial and spatial problem as regards the large and numerous spaces occuped and held by agriculture. Third, an economic and social question, as agriculture and agro-alimentary sector is a not negligible source of employement and wealth. Lastly a political stake in a context in which agriculture has gradually given up its autarchical aspect to evolve in a more and more international context (europeanisation an even mondialisation of exchange). Confronted to these issues, french public administration have strarted a policy in order to help financially young farmers to set up and maintaining a potential number of new settlements. Yet, when you consider the evolution of the number of new exploitations and new settlements, you realize there is an important difference showing that there are more and more people leaving and fewer and fewer people settling down. So, either on a national or a local scale, we find a double tendency : in the dicreasing number of new settlements, those helped by the governement (a public administration) are dicreasing fester than those with no ehlp at all thus, on a local level almost one new young farmer out of two settles down without any help. The dicrease of impact of public administration is the consequence of several facts : on one hand, the demographical evolution as well as the rules, requiring a higher level of formation, a required size for the farming land and income that are often incompatible with the plans

Texto completoThis PhD dissertation is based on an ethnographic study of two football clubs located in the French département of Seine-Saint-Denis. The data gathered made it possible to document an understudied training space for young amateur football players. This research sought to confront the players’ aspirations in a future of excellence in the sport to the probabilities of their realization. The teenagers’ social trajectories studied in this dissertation unfold in a hierarchical space, one of the main recruitment pools for French professional football apprentices: the Paris region, which is home to a mass of competitors striving for the recognition of their technical and tactical virtuosity. In this context, elite football institutions participate in shaping how teenage football players and their coaches identify themselves with the professional football world. The study of parental strategies for children's success, of masculine sociability, as well as that of the mentoring work carried out by educators, all shed light on the social factors underlying a commitment to sport competition. The research shows how such commitment in the competitive process of selection implicates a quest for respectability among this working-class youth

Texto completoThe social-economic transformation of Moroccan countries is the measure of psycho-sociological maturation, and cultural country-people. The social global action's inside the rural gives the culture and the system values like dimensions of great importance to the maturation of rural collectivity, and makes the modernization that result one historical process first, and a concentrated action after. This work would like reflection on the subject by a study on the region of Tessaout. The region is view between the Haouz of Marrakech and the plain of Tadla. The transformation in the rural center is a clearly understanding on this rural and the urban when the administration's power takes places, the modern scholarship and the money-gain of life. The chapter (38 pages) is consecrated to the analysis this dynamic region. The representations have studied with relation to the context on the base of the exploitation, qualitative, on the records realized with the county-men of tessaout what are belonged to different villages touched by the modernization of agricultural activity. They are two kinds to age subjects (the ones more than 30 years, and other less than 30 years) what gives the perspective values to each other. The representations analysis to each group occupies a chapter, respectively from 33 to 47 pages. One general synthesis would like to systematize the differences between the old of country-men and the rural young. This study is greatly an exploration of psychological and cultural field, with its contribution to the knowledge of searching problems; on the one hand problem of the documentation, and the second one, during the empirical work

Texto completoThis research, initiated from the reality of French language teaching in primary schools within a project entitled “Intensive teaching of and in French language” (EIDEF), implemented in Vietnam for ten years, examines Vietnamese young children's writing competencies appropriation in Vietnamese and in French language. This qualitative, longitudinal and comparative research was undertaken in a Vietnamese primary school for 2 consecutive years, involving 37 children from 7 to 10 years old, 20 of those were Vietnamese-French “bilinguals” and 17 monolinguals. The research analyses surveys through teachers' questionnaires, interviews and pupils' interviews, papers to identify the development of writing competencies acquisition in Vietnamese and in French as well as these competencies' transfers of “bilingual” children. The results confirm the hypothesis of beneficial effects brought about by writing competencies' transfers to children in situation of early contact of languages. Additionally, the research outcomes also prove that these transfers obviously help the children better write in their mother tongue language, which eventually involves advantages for literacy acquisition and better chance of school success

Texto completoThe aim of this research is to better understand the cognitive treatment of prices by children. After a literature review on the child as buyer, prescriptor and future consumer, children and prices, the child’s cognitive development and numerical cognition, an exploratory study is conducted. It allows refining our research questions through a better understanding of the relation between children and prices. Next, two experiments are conducted in order to verify the hypotheses and proposals formulated based on theories from cognitive psychology and studies on children as consumers. The first experiment focuses on how prices memorization depending on presentation format and children’s individual characteristics. It shows the impact of presentation on price memorization. In addition, some intuitive hypotheses on the effect of age and school grade are confirmed whereas the influence of other factors such as expertise and buying experience are only partially confirmed. The level, number of syllables and ending of prices also influence their recall. The results finally indicate that prices are coded in several ways: visual, verbal, approximate. The second experiment deals with the evaluation of prices: judgment of new prices and the elaboration of an acceptable range of prices. The existence of a compressed number line is only partially verified. It appears that price level influences recall and evaluation. The expensiveness horizon is not fixed. This evaluation has nevertheless a significant impact on childrens’ buying intentions. For the construction of an acceptable range of prices, children do not care about range of prices information. They have the tendency to underestimate this acceptable range of prices and to give it a constant magnitude

Texto completoIncubators and business incubators have developed around the world for fifty years, thanks to the action of a diverse and growing number of economic actors. Their business models have evolved, their objectives have diversified, and with the feedback, specific occupations have gradually emerged such as incubator director or business creation coach. The objective of this research is to analyze what the support structures and services including accommodation, offer in terms of added value to the company being created, and what it contributes to the organization. In other words, it is the evaluation of the accompaniment from the young entrepreneur’s point of view and also the understanding of what kind of benefits are gained by the economic actors in setting up such incubators. Having this in mind we have conducted an empirical study targeting incubated entrepreneurs and incubator ma18*14nagers. This study included 404 entrepreneurs, and managers of ten business incubators. Naturally in our questionnaire we considered academic literature but also its shortcomings. In the case of companies follow up in a business incubator, our research aimed to identify factors that foster success and development of the company from the point of view of those incubated. This identification will allow us and help us in future research to assess the level of performance of organizations providing these services. We can thus respond to three types of questions: what are the resources and skills which have favored the development of young start ups and on the other hand in what way has the incubator contributed to the construction of these advantages. At last, what are the prospects of young firms that have been accompanied. Worldwide, the increasing number of incubators tend to validate our hypothesis of competitive advantage provided by these organizations to a new company benefiting from its services from a similar company (age, sector, activity is similar). Specifically, our work resulted in: *The development of a precise typology of support organizations, and identifying key success factors, the conditions of their coexistence with other agencies. * A better understanding of risks and opportunities for business creation, as well as technological and organizational changes to come. * Developing a competency framework necessary for the management of a business incubator. The creation of an observatory for nurseries and incubators will allow us to demonstrate our expertise to governments and corporations to get them involved in funding support structures, to promote awareness, to professionalize the coaching and provide analytical tools to other researchers. This research also finds its natural continuation in the creation of a network of incubators for Higher Education the object of which aims to improve the skills of incubator managers and coaches vested in entrepreneurship

Texto completoThe aim is to determine, in a developmental pragmatical perspective, the role of context and of linguistic form in the comprehension of requests by young children at 1 ;7 and 2 ;5. The demand is defined in the scope of speech act theory (searle, 1979) which is linked to developmental interactionist theories (burner, 1983 ; vygotsky, 1934/1985). The context is a joint activity, which is systematized and controlled by the experimenter. Four forms of requests are uttered, ranging from the most direct one (give me. . . ) to more allusive one (do you have. . . ?). The utterances refer to an object that either is or is not related to the joint activity and thus, may fit the adult's desire or need. To analyze children's interpretation, both verbal behaviors (information about the referred object) and non-verbal behaviors (to give the referred object) are used. The study is conducted both in a cross-sectional and a longitudinal ways. The results show that at 1 ;7, comprehension depends on the context. As they develop, the children become able to take into account the linguistic form when the context is not clear. Some interindividual differences appear in the linguistic clues considered by the children (direct/ indirect characteristic ; degree of implicit; interrogative form or not). These pragmatic skills are interpreted in the scope of + formats ; theory, in terms that implicit social knowledge makes young children able to adapt their responses to the situation

Texto completoFaces are important for social interactions as they convey important information about social environment. Impairment in social interactions is one of the core symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and has been related to atypical face processing. Here, we investigated face processing in preschool children with ASD using eye-tracking methodology. In the first study, we showed that young children with ASD, just like typically developing children are sensitive to face-like objects suggesting that processing first order configuration is intact in ASD. According to these results, the nature of facial representation might be qualitatively similar between groups. In the second study, we tested the presence of a left gaze bias in response to faces presented at central vision. A lack of left gaze bias was found in young children with ASD, reflecting atypical right hemispheric lateralization for face processing. Finally, the third study analyzed the visual scanning of static faces and showed an abnormal exploration pattern limited to the eyes. Overall, these studies argue for the presence of configural face processing in preschoolers with ASD despite differences in strategy from typically developing children. Futures studies will have to specify the mechanisms underlying atypical configural face processing in ASD

Texto completoThe main goal of this thesis is to study the dense interstellar matter mainly using X-ray and intra-red observations. We show that for the rho Oph dark cloud, the low gas-to-dust ratio can be explained by the lower metalicity of this dense cloud relative to the diffuse galactic medium. Moreover, by cross-correlating X-ray absorption and abundance measurements, we show that the new abundances at metals of the solar photosphere, of the photospheres of young F and G stars, of the local diffuse and dense interstellar medium are all identical within 10%. This lazy nucleosynthesis would indicate the stellar formation has been less active in the Galaxy at the distance of the Sun over large time scales. We are interested in the massive star forming region M17, where strong X-ray emission has been detected and the ISO data reveal spatially extended and highly ionized gas. We show that the X-ray irradiation effect can not be constraint by O2+. A study of the X-ray irradiation in a neutral medium shows partly the contribution of X-rays to the ionization and excitation of C+ at large distances up to 5 pc from the OB cluster. We complement our study by searching young low-mass stars and studying their physical properties in the Cha II star-forming region. The method consists of identifying as many as possible low-mass young stars using the near-IR DENIS survey. We search stars with an IR excess, and select 51 young candidates. Our spectroscopic follow-up observations confirm the nature of these candidats, with at least 20% of them showing Halpha emission characteristic of their young nature. From this, we deduce that these stars belong to the ChaII cloud

Texto completoThe study is based on historical reality of Rwanda. This country experienced a genocide and a large-scale massacres in 1994. Those events followed up a long time maintained identical crisis. Actually, the identical evolution of rwandan young people is done in a context of absence of marks (human, social, family, cultural) satisfying. The genocide and massacres destroyed the supports of identification. There was a turnover of the social organisation and the young people are sent back to themselves. Such a situation induces a regression towards modalities of life redefined around the vital functions. To withdraw themselves from this regression, the yong people dash into a premature "adultisation" which is dangerous as far as they tend to isolate themselves in front of trauma. The steady main idea is that it is possible to use the school space to avoid the dead end of these young people confronted with precarious aspect of the family, social and cultural protections. The school is considered as a medium which can contain, homogenise and establish new reassuringvalues. This school is very invested in current Rwanda by the civil society and the gouvernmental authorities. It misses however resources as well material as human to answer the missions of identical reconstruction that it has to realise. To face this situation, operational recommendations are formulated. These last ones in the direction will incite the psychologiacl discipline to be present and active at Rwandan school to enable him to be a useful transitional space

Texto completoActors of the criminal justice system are faced with significant challenges in their interventions with juveniles classified as serious or persistent offenders (JSPO). One of these challenges is sentencing, which must both compel them to answer for their actions and engage them in a process of rehabilitation and social reintegration. For the past 30 years, the risk, needs and responsivity model has guided the development of policy practices and intervention programs. Alternative sentences are intended to address the negative effects of custody, placing adolescents under community supervision, while monitoring them more closely than they would be under a probation order. However, several factors related to criminal responses have an impact on the risk of reoffending and social reintegration. In this regard, research from a risk management perspective highlights the mixed effects of alternative sanctions, particularly among JSPO. By focusing more on recidivism rates and measures of failures to comply, this perspective does not shed light on the changes that occur in other life spheres during supervision. The more recent perspective of desistance from crime focuses instead on the processes of change that underlie the transition from delinquency to conformity, seen as an integral part of a broader social reintegration process. Research stemming from this perspective have provided a better understanding of how actors of the criminal justice system can support or hinder desistance. The perspective envisions to fight recidivism by focusing on the development of agency, strengths and potentialities of both JSPO and their communities. One of the biggest challenges faced by practitioners is balancing their dual role of control and rehabilitative agents in order to foster changes. However, knowledge is sparse regarding desistance among JSPO. The transition towards desistance is an interesting avenue of research, because it focuses specifically on the early stages of the process, taking into account its fragility by emphasizing the ambivalence, the introspection, and the social withdrawal that characterize this part of the process. This qualitative research analyzes the case files of 26 JSPO subjected to an alternative sanction, the Deferred Custody and Supervision Order (DCSO), in order to identify individual, relational and structural factors that are favorable or that hinder the transition towards desistance, which comprises three phases: 1) the cessation of delinquency, 2) the adoption of new social roles, and, 3) identity shifts. vi This research focuses especially on DCSO because of its mixed effects on recidivism and social reintegration. The case files analysis highlights the factors that are favorable to behavioral, cognitive, identity, and relational changes that occur in the transition towards desistance. It shows that tertiary desistance, defined as community (re)integration, is important to support JSPOs’ change efforts. An “educational” approach to failures to comply, the exploration of social roles, the help offered to address particular issues, the accompaniment to fulfill specific tasks as well as constant encouragements appear as favorable intervention practices to support desistance. They allow adolescents to develop personal and social skills, in addition to laying the foundations for a meaningful and structuring life project. On the other hand, interventions focused on surveillance and control may inhibit change. The research shows that the professionals involved in the management of JSPO subjected to alternative sanctions play an important role in assisting them to engage in a desistance process.

Texto completoVerbal communication in route-finding is a way to study the relationship between space representation and language representation. We examine it through the interaction of twenty dyads made of blind young people, a guide and an explorer : one of them is familiar of the space and the other is not. They can communicate by cellulars. We analyse the dialogs at distance, in order to catch up the representation expressed in the dynamic of space and interaction. We identify critical competences between two very contrasted couples all over the route, and then we study in detail four critical episodes characterized by misunderstandings and their eventual solvings. Uncertainty, disagreement, and misunderstanding made respective conceptualizations of both partner accessible. The observed phenomena illustrate the complex gap existing between operatory invariants and language and how resources emerge to face problematic situations

Texto completoThis thesis is situated at the crossroads of three fields: sociolinguistics, phonetics and the teaching of French as a foreign language. In view of the fact that phonetic variation is still the poor relation of French foreign language classes, our work examines the role that non-standard language can play in the teaching/learning of French pronunciation as well as the way it can be integrated in teaching activities aiming at raising learners’ awareness of variation and the of phonetic features of everyday language. Indeed, French foreing-language classes favor the learning of standard French as the language by default, relegating ordinary language to learning-by-doing. This approach often produces learners who give the impression of learners whose French often sounds artificial, even though access to vernacular networks is nowadays commonplace and new communicational skills are needed. Analysis of the intonation patterns of young speakers from Paris, who are often singled out as a symptom of social unrest and the source of linguistic drift, has shown that they are in fact an observatory of choice for features of everyday language, favoring the expression of inter-speaker involvement in ordinary interactions. A field study, carried out with learners of French from all over the world, was the opportunity to discuss the relevance of the transcription of oral data taken from real interactions and illustrating ordinary language, within the framework of data driven learning, aiming at initiating learners into phonetic variation in French. “Transcoding” can act like a magnifying glass on language in context, in that it helps learners to focus on pronunciation features used in ordinary French linguistic exchanges, thus allowing them to become aware of phenomena they could not perceive before, thanks to deductive connections between written and spoken language
