Resumen
This Article discusses some of the inadequacies in the current ethical regulation of the legal system and proposes a new approach to crafting and contextualizing rules of legal ethics. The proliferation of specialties and subspecialties in law practice, together with the inadequacies of prevailing ethics regulation and the vagaries of ethics rules formulations from state to state have not served either the public or the legal profession well. Manipulation, motivated by politics and self-interest, of the ideology of the organized bar to adhere to ethical rules predicated on an antiquated and unrealistic model of a unified legal profession has likewise been counterproductive. Emblematic of the problem is the "one size fits all" nature of the Rules of Professional Conduct and their ill-suitedness to business law, as opposed to litigation, practice, all of which leads to an atmosphere of indeterminacy in the ethical standards applicable to business lawyers. Part I of this article briefly traces the source and nature of the problems facing ethical regulation of the legal profession, briefly highlighting the practical shortcomings of some antidotes proposed by other scholars. Part II examines the various ethical scandals that have plagued the legal profession over the last 35 years. These scandals began with the National Student Marketing case and include the recent string of corporate scandals which brought to light the unethical behavior of corporate insiders, including lawyers and advisors, which ultimately resulted in the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Part III of this Article endeavors to synthesize some insights from public choice theory into the structural shortcomings of the existing attorney regulatory system. From those insights, one would expect state courts and state bar regulatory agencies to be (and, indeed, they have been) co-opted by the elite bar and not adequately regulating those lawyers in corporate and federal regulatory practice including especially those practice areas that affect public investors, public markets, and the economy as a whole. Part IV offers a critique of the current approach to attorney regulation, which has featured piecemeal attempts to federalize legal ethics. Part IV proceeds to illustrate the types of approaches to legal ethics which should be avoided. Finally, Part V concludes with a proposal for a partial federal regulation of legal ethics. The model of partial federal regulation offered is by no means the only, or necessarily the optimal, solution, but hopefully it will spark additional discourse that might lead to a workable system for providing business lawyers with the solid, thoughtful, and objective ethical guidance they need. Consistent with this proposal, Part V identifies and highlights a few areas of ethical concern specifically in need of regulatory attention.

Resumen
Part I of this Article provides an overview of some of the key terms and provisions of Canada’s Cannabis Act. Part II looks at the Cannabis Act in the context of the International Drug Conventions, examining how the various convention provisions might apply, looking first at the Single Convention and then at the 1988 Convention and how that convention fits with Canadian constitutional provisions. Part III focuses on the international human rights framework and how the Cannabis Act might be viewed as compatible with international human rights law even where incompatible with the International Drug Conventions. This Part also offers a look at some of the cannabis-related human rights jurisprudence that arose in various jurisdictions. Finally, Part IV analyzes the Cannabis Act in light of the international economic law framework, providing an in-depth overview of how various WTO provisions might affect the Cannabis Act as drafted.

Resumen
Background: This case study focuses on gender inequality in a higher education setting. It involves both human resources and leadership management situations. By participating in this study, students will be able to do the following: critically examine a gender inequality case study; recommend a solution or outcome regarding a case of gender inequality in a global setting; and justify and defend their decision-making skills in uncertain and complex ethical situations and gender inequality. This case study is best suited for undergraduate students in a human resource, ethical leadership, or social change theory course. In addition, this case study is also appropriate for business professionals in the human resource field. Objectives and Learning Outcomes: Learning outcomes include: 1) Critically examine a gender inequality case study; 2) Recommend a solution or outcome regarding a case of gender inequality in a global setting; 3) Justify and defend their decision-making skills in uncertain and complex ethical situations and gender inequality; 4) Research examples of gender inequality in the workplace. Some information has deliberately been excluded from the case study to promote further research and discussion to give students an opportunity to give an end to the story. Teaching Notes: Teaching notes are available with this case study.

Resumen
Abstract Patients with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (HR-MDS) are defined by the original or revised International Prognostic Scoring System and specific genetic features. Treatment of HR-MDS is challenging. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, the only curative approach, is feasible in a minority of fit or intermediate fitness patients aged <70 to 75 years who are willing to face the risks of the procedure. Response to azacitidine and decitabine, the only approved drugs for HR-MDS and considered the standard of care, is partial and transient in most patients. The development of novel more personalized and efficient drugs is an unmet medical need. During the last decade, there have been substantial advances in understanding the multiple molecular, cellular, and immunological disturbances involved in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndrome. As a result, a number of clinical and translational studies of new more focused treatment approaches for HR-MDS patients are underway. In contrast to acute myeloid leukemia, they have not resulted in any new drug approval. This review addresses the benefits and limitations of current treatment alternatives, offers a practical individualized treatment approach, and summarizes the clinical trials in progress for HR-MDS.

Resumen
AbstractWe introduce a notion of n-quasi-categories as fibrant objects of a model category structure on presheaves on Joyal's n-cell category Θn. Our definition comes from an idea of Cisinski and Joyal. However, we show that this idea has to be slightly modified to get a reasonable notion. We construct two Quillen equivalences between the model category of n-quasi-categories and the model category of Rezk Θn-spaces, showing that n-quasi-categories are a model for (∞, n)-categories. For n = 1, we recover the two Quillen equivalences defined by Joyal and Tierney between quasi-categories and complete Segal spaces.

Resumen
Objective and Aim. An imbalance of the sympathetic system may explain many of the clinical manifestations of the migraine. We aimed to evaluateP-waves as a reveal of sympathetic system function in migraine patients and healthy controls.Materials and Methods. Thirty-five episodic type of migraine patients (complained of migraine during 5 years or more, BMI < 30 kg/m2) and 30 controls were included in our study. We measuredP-wave durations (minimum, maximum, and dispersion) from 12-lead ECG recording during pain-free periods. ECGs were transferred to a personal computer via a scanner and then used for magnification of x400 by Adobe Photoshop software.Results.P-wave durations were found to be similar between migraine patients and controls. AlthoughPWD (P-wave dispersion) was similar, the mean value was higher in migraine subjects.PWD was positively correlated withPmax (P<0.01). Attacks number per month and male gender were the factors related to thePWD (P<0.01).Conclusions. Many previous studies suggested that increased sympathetic activity may cause an increase inPWD. We found thatPWD of migraine patients was higher than controls, andPWD was related to attacks number per month and male gender. Further studies are needed to explain the chronic effects of migraine.
