Resumen
The aim of this study is to investigate the characteristics of a sustainable development assessment methodology being designed in the context of green technology. The methodology in question is based on indicators from the Sustainable Development Goals Index (SGDI), specifically in its ecological component. These indicators underlie an Averaging Sustainable Development Index (ASDI) and a Normalized Sustainable Development Index (NSDI). The resultant methodology was applied to 20 countries from the SDGI ranking. According to the research results, the intensive activity of the brown industries in the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, the United States, Korea, and Russia resulted in significant carbon dioxide emissions. Switzerland, Kazakhstan, and Russia had high scores on sustainable management of water and sanitation. Russia was the only developed country to have an ASDI higher than its SDGI and its gap between NSDI and ASDI indexes was not significant, indicating a positive trend in greentech development. The reason why NSDI was increasingly different from SDGI was that countries leading the socio-economic rankings had higher consumption of energy and resources, and a much greater environmental footprint than those countries that consumed less. The originality of this study is that it identifies gaps between NSDI and ASDI values, which indicate that conditions for greentech adoption in most developing countries are unfavorable.

Resumen
Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) represents a vital technology for addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change and carbon emissions. This research aims to explore the relationship between the CCUS capability and carbon emissions in the United States considering thirteen predictors of CCUS and carbon emissions. Incorporating these predictors, we aim to offer policymakers insights to enhance CCUS capabilities and reduce carbon emissions. We utilize diverse econometric techniques: OLS, Lasso, Ridge, Elastic Net, Generalized Method of Moments, and Seemingly Unrelated Regression. Elastic Net outperforms the other models in explaining CCUS, while OLS is effective for carbon emissions. We observe positive impacts of the number of projects and foreign direct investment on the CCUS capacity, but limited influence from the CCUS technology level. However, the relationship between the CCUS capacity and carbon emissions remains limited. Our study highlights the importance of incentivizing projects to increase CCUS capabilities and recognizes the critical role of legal and regulatory frameworks in facilitating effective CCUS implementation in the US. Moreover, we emphasize that achieving decarbonization goals necessitates the development of affordable green alternatives. It is essential to view CCUS as a complementary, rather than a sole, solution for emission reduction as we work towards achieving net-zero emission targets.

This article aims to identify patents referring to coffee processing and to correlate them with the exportation scenario of the processed coffee. The research relates the keywords “coffee” and “treatment” with the International Patent Codes, in the Espacenet database. The CIP A23F5/02 has predominance, with the United States figure as the largest holder (20) and Brazil with only one patent deposit. The article suggests that countries that promote research in technology become more competitive in the exportation of processed coffee, even without producing the grain. This explains the need for policies aimed at valuing research in technological innovation in the national industry.

Resumen
Green energy is regarded as the breakthrough of the fourth technological revolution of mankind, which is highly concerned by the whole world. By analysing the development strategies of major developed countries to promote green energy industry, this paper constructs a theoretical framework from four aspects: government policy, green consumption, technology and capital, so as to summarize the typical characteristics of the development of green energy industry. The study found that government policy and technology are the main driving force for the development of green energy industry in major developed countries, the resource-rich United States leads the industrial development with policy, and the European Union obtains new energy development through policy and technological innovation at the same time. Japan continues to innovate and take the lead in technology to break the limitations of innate conditions. The conclusions of the study will help countries with the same resource base, policy environment and consumption concept to sort out the development ideas of green energy, and provide some reference and reference for the formulation of effective development strategies.

Resumen
Agricultural insurance and green agriculture are strongly related. Agricultural insurance not only motivates farmers to adopt environmentally friendly production technology and enhances the effectiveness of production, but it also accomplishes the goal of lowering the number of chemicals that are put into the environment. This article investigates the dynamic relationship between agricultural insurance, air pollution, and agricultural green total factor productivity. To complete the aim, the authors used the panel auto-regressive distributed lags method (PMG method) and panel data from 50 states of the United States between 2005 and 2019. The empirical findings demonstrate a considerable co-integration and a cross-sectional reliance between agricultural insurance, air pollution, and agricultural green total factor production. Expanding agricultural insurance may boost agricultural green whole factor output but also exacerbate air pollution. However, significant air pollution does not increase agricultural production’s green total factor productivity. The panel Granger causality test shows a one-way causal relationship between agricultural insurance, green total factor productivity, and air pollution. A one-way causal relationship exists between air pollution and agricultural green total factor productivity. The author concluded that improving agricultural insurance coverage or cutting down on air pollution will boost agricultural green total factor output. These findings have long-term policy and management repercussions, particularly for those involved in agriculture policy and environmental management.

Resumen
It has been proposed in China that the country should reach a “carbon peak” by 2030 and be “carbon neutral” by 2060. In the context of energy conservation and emission reduction, the country’s energy structure needs to be transformed to improve the technology level and more widespread consumption of renewable energy. The global renewable energy utilization situation is first analyzed in this study from the perspective of renewable energy and the buildings using it, highlighting the importance of the application of renewable energy in buildings. Secondly, from the perspective of solar energy utilization technology, ground source heat pump technology, and systems for managing energy use in buildings, the progressiveness of renewable energy applications in buildings is analyzed. The application of these technologies in buildings is demonstrated from various angles. Thirdly, the development prospect of buildings using renewable energy is discussed from the perspective of the promotion of renewable energy-powered buildings and green construction. The development prospects of buildings using renewable energy are discussed from the economic benefits of green finance, the promotion and social support of renewable energy, and the environmental benefits of green buildings. Finally, based on studies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and China, the international energy policy and development direction, as well as the evaluation criteria of green buildings, are discussed, along with an assessment system for green buildings that is complementary to the strategic agreement.

Resumen
The market in the telecom industry is often segmented into three categories namely long distance, local and wireless services. In their survey, Green and Teece (1998) used this approach to study the telecom market segmentations of the United Kingdom, Australia, United States and New Zealand. In line with its policy of openness, transparency, fairness and participatory regulation, the commission informed stakeholders in September 2012 of its intent to conduct a study on the level of competition in the relevant markets of Nigeria’s Telecommunications Industry. It held meetings with a cross section of industry operators. This study shows that as the availability of mobile phone technology increases, the volume of import increases and more technology is transferred. Thus, the findings by Freund and Weinhold (2002, 2004) and Arrow (1969) are reconfirmed by the study’s empirical result. Therefore, technology helps to reduce distributional inequality of economic benefits. In fact, this does not necessarily imply reduction in inequality among rich and poor classes of these societies in the respective rich and poor states. The finding suggests that the availability of mobile phone technology increases state economic growth by different marginal weights. However, these marginal weights statistical significance across the states in both 90% and 95% confidence intervals could not be ascertained because the covariance has to be estimated using bootstrap. It is therefore left for future research.

Resumen
The United Nations Framework on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took effect as a treaty in 1994 to promote international cooperation in the fight against global warming. Currently, nearly 190 countries are signatories of the UNFCCC, which has had successive additions as the Kyoto Protocol (1997). In 1995, the Climate Technology Initiative was established within the UNFCCC to encourage international cooperation in the accelerated development and diffusion of environmentally Sound Technologies - EST. Such technologies are also capable of protection provided by patents, and this kind of protection is a valuable tool for the industrial production inventions to become a worthwhile investment, contributing to economic development. Many patent applications claim advantages relative to efficiency, waste reduction, or even the costs of operation/manufacturing. However, the difficulty of accurately distinguishing the EST’s technologies among others, which are those that only claim environmental benefits, compared to those who actually have a higher potential to promote a more positive impact on the environment directed. This study aims to report some performance initiatives in relations between technologies, focusing on the so-called “GREEN”, and the effects of climate change. Some initiatives have already been started in countries such as Australia, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, South Korea and Israel. These nations are constituted in the form of their industrial property offices, as entities that have implemented regulations regarding the patentability of requests for green technologies or EST’s such requests are known as “green patents” applications. In this context, it is highlighted that the definition of “green patents” differs from country to country and this leads to greater uncertainty in this designation, with the codes of the International Patent Classification (IPC) should be prioritized. This study observed that, in the case of South Korea, green patents are technologies classified in accordance with the interests of the Government, or, according to designations of environmental laws. Moreover, it still shows that South Korea, Australia, United States, Japan, Israel already have programs to promote accelerated examination of “green patents” applications with different criteria.

Resumen
Due to the increase in demand for electricity during the last several decades and the fact that demand has to be satisfied, a number of power plants that work by utilizing fossil fuel sources have been built to satisfy the increased demand for electricity. As a result of the excessive use of fossil fuel sources, global warming and climate change have become serious issues that affect the entire world. The rise of those issues has put pressure on the entire world to switch from the use of fossil fuel sources energy to the use of green sources energy to generate electricity. Out of various renewable energy sources (wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass), photovoltaics based on free fuel solar energy has emerged as the technology for generating lowest cost electricity. In addition to utility scale solar farms and rooftop solar, community solar benefits flow to multiple customers such as individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and other groups. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of community solar. A new business model of community solar is proposed where a photovoltaic system and battery energy storage system can work as standalone power system. Further cost reduction can be achieved if the standalone local power network works on direct current (DC) in place of alternating current (AC) power.

Resumen
The development of the energy sector in the United States of America (USA) represents a rivalry between two different approaches, which has intensified under the last three American administrations. The competition of approaches is expressed in the confrontation between supporters of energy based on renewable sources and supporters of traditional energy resources. A comparative analysis of changes in the energy sector, depending on the prevalence of a particular approach to energy development, shows that external conditions play a key role in promoting the energy strategy. The strategy of priority development of “green” energy carried out under Barack Obama could not be realized because of the shale boom. As a result, many companies working with renewable energy sources did not stand up to the competition. The opposite approach of Donald Trump’s focus on developing traditional energy resources to ensure US energy security and to increase jobs has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has virtually nullified the US administration’s efforts under this approach. The current concept of President J. Biden is aimed at continuing the strategy of Barack Obama for the development of “green” energy in the United States. Proponents of this concept hope for the possibility of its at least partial implementation in the absence of a shale boom. The lifting of the embargo on the export of American oil has led to an increase in oil supplies abroad. As of 2018, the United States has overtaken Saudi Arabia in terms of oil and gas exports, taking a leading position in the global oil market. In 2019-2020, the United States retained the first place in the world in oil production. This article examines the conceptual approaches of American administrations to the issue of energy policy and analyzes the statistical data that characterize the traditional and “clean energy” industries. An important factor is the degree of influence of the US energy policy on global oil prices. To analyze this issue, this research uses curved regression equations to assess the impact of US energy policy on world oil prices under the administrations of Barack Obama and Donald Trump. The results of the correlation show that a more effective interaction between the variables was carried out during the presidency of Barack Obama, when Exports of Crude Oil influenced the price dynamics of oil quotes with an inverse relationship. With the arrival of the Biden administration, the strategy started under Obama in favor of developing clean energy was continued. In the context of the spread of covid-19, the growth of crisis phenomena in the national economy, the growth of production costs in the oil and gas industry, and the fall in the world energy prices, the development of green energy can have a certain effect, given the Biden administration’s approach to energy development. The subsequent actions of the Biden administration may offset Trump’s efforts to develop traditional energy to strengthen the economic potential of the United States and strengthen the position of American companies in the global oil market.

Resumen
In the United States, there has been a noticeable shift toward sustainable finance practices in the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects into financial institutions. This change is in line with general world patterns. Green bonds, impact investing, ESG investing, and funding for renewable energy are among the increasingly well-liked sustainable finance strategies. Recent literature reviews demonstrate the complexity and breadth of sustainable finance practices, as well as the advancements in technology and law that have propelled this growth. This study aims to investigate the development, implementation, and outcomes of sustainable financial practices in the United States. It focuses on understanding how these activities contribute to financial stability, environmental sustainability, and social fairness. The study aims to identify the primary drivers behind the adoption of sustainable financing, in addition to providing helpful guidance on how governments, investors, and financial institutions may incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into their financial decision-making processes. Secondary data sources, such as academic publications, reports from governmental and non-governmental organizations, trade journals, and media outlets are investigated using a qualitative technique. Using thematic analysis and cross-case synthesis, important issues, success factors, and barriers to the adoption of sustainable financing are identified. Ethical concerns have been taken into consideration during the study method. The analysis leads to the conclusion that sustainable finance practices reduce the risks associated with social unrest and environmental degradation, thereby improving financial stability. By investing in clean technology and renewable energy, they promote environmental sustainability and social justice through inclusive financial systems. However, problems like data scarcity and greenwashing persist, and need for both legislative and technological responses. Among the suggestions include strengthening regulatory frameworks, promoting inclusive financing, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and leveraging technology for ESG data analytics. A long-term perspective and robust monitoring and assessment processes are necessary to fully realize the potential of sustainable finance in building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable financial system. The conclusion of the study emphasizes how sustainable finance has the power to drastically alter the trajectory of financial systems in the US and other nations while also addressing global sustainability challenges.

It is forecasted to reach an energy-saving efficiency of 65% with energy use intensity (EUI) of 43 kWh/m².yr for the whole building, far below that of 169 kWh/m².yr found in Taiwan low/mid-rise office buildings. This building has begun operation in 2011, through actual readings from Building Energy Management System (BEMS) during January to June, first-half-year accumulated EUI of 19.3 kWh/m².yr against eQUEST analytical assessment of 22.5 kWh/m².yr for the same period. Actual energy consumption analysis for air conditioning, lighting, socket outlet, and power equipment, respectively recorded 41.7%, 11%, 22.3%, and 25% in June. Demonstrating that eQUEST analytical assessed value is very consistent with building’s actual energy consumption readings. The energy consumption standard in the experimental research behind the Magic School of Green Technology stands at world class.

Flying across the United States on a sunny day, airline passengers in window seats may have noticed the seemingly endless fields of bright green circles dotting the landscape in parts of the West and Midwest. These circular fields are the result of a technology called fixed-length, center-pivot irrigation, in which a wheeled scaffolding of pipe, sometimes up to a half mile in length, rotates around a fixed point that is connected to a water source. Plots of land are seldom, if ever, circular. Usually, they are square, rectangular, or irregularly shaped. However, because farming is a profession that often has a low margin of profit, farmers must use their valuable resources as efficiently as possible. Hence, the issue is how to maximize the packing of these circles within the existing geographic constraints of terrain features, roads, rivers, and land boundaries.

Resumen
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the gas production business for the Russian economy, and therefore ensuring sustainable and innovative development of this sector of the economy is not just important, but a strategic vector of national economic security of the country: in case of a negative technological gap the impact of sanctions in terms of high-tech imports and overall dependence of the Russian economy on the "political mood" of global technological leaders in Western Europe and the United States is exacerbated. In addition, it should be noted the growing tightening of international environmental standards of oil and gas production, which determines the importance of digitalization of the oil and gas sector in Russia for its compliance with the green strategies of the world. The article is devoted to the study of practices of green investment and digitalization of the oil and gas sector in Russia, as well as the problems and prospects of its digital transformation, taking into account the best domestic and international practices of doing business in Industry 4.0. Separately, the article considers scenarios for the implementation of green investments in the oil and gas business in Russia using the "4 worlds" foresight method.

Resumen
The United States has a long-term goal to reduce 50% of energy usage in buildings based on 2010 consumption levels. Home energy efficiency is often measured by laboratory experiments and computational simulation. Thus, there is little to no quantifiable evidence showing the extent of energy efficiency homes can achieve within the larger context of green building standards. The objective of this research is to identify actual home energy performance as an effect of green building technologies by comparing energy use from real-world observations and energy modeling. Results indicate a significant reduction of energy consumption at 43.7% per unit or 43.4% per square foot (i.e., 0.093 m2) and substantial financial savings at $628.4 per unit or $0.80 per square foot (i.e., $8.6 per m2) annually. Savings account for 2% of median annual household income or 46% of energy cost expenditures for an American home. Results also identify the construction type as a significant factor, yet building technology is not the only factor influencing a home's energy efficiency. The findings contribute to the body of knowledge in three aspects: (1) simulated energy usage is higher than actual energy usage; (2) energy modeling via simulation tools is particularly accurate for new construction; and (3) energy modeling, especially for existing buildings, is not accurate due to largely varying occupant behaviors.

Resumen
Since the Biden administration took office, it has inherited the Trump administration's perception that China is a major strategic competitor, so China and the United States have entered a competition-oriented dynamic. Political and economic changes around energy will add new instability factors to Sino-US relations and open new areas for China and the US. Under the background of the Sino-US trade war, this paper discusses that America and China, as the most influential representatives of developed and developing countries to achieve global energy goals, the game between the two sides around the economy and other fields will affect the development of Sino-US climate change cooperation status quo. At the same time, the paper studies the existing cooperation foundation under the current context of the intensified energy game between China and the United States, such as new energy vehicle technology. The energy transition is the general trend for the world's largest energy consumer, and carbon emitter. Both countries may achieve a win-win situation by joining hands in energy transition and cooperation to tackle the climate crisis. All possible cooperation will also provide new opportunities for Sino-US relations, but the changes they trigger may exacerbate the existing fierce game, and even create new conflicts. Therefore, accurately grasping the two-way interaction between China and the United States in the energy field is of great benefit to the global energy transformation and the development of green technology.

Resumen
As more studies were conducted and global events unfold, a greater emphasis is being placed on the importance of preserving the Earth's natural resources and cycles before we face a catastrophic climate crisis. Thus, developed countries are constantly adapting their policies and legislation to promote green development for the sake of sustainable development, which benefits both the environment and the socioeconomic segment. As populations grow and living standards improve, more waste is generated. Appropriate municipal waste management is necessary to avoid harm to the environment, wildlife, and human health. Sustainable municipal solid waste management is even included in the United Nations' (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to improve the world's environment and economy. The European Union (EU) member states' waste management systems can be considered exemplary. In some countries, landfills have been prohibited, promoting the use of more sustainable technologies such as organic waste incineration, recycling, and composting. However, a divide exists between member countries, with some lagging behind in terms of waste management strategies. Thus, this paper examined the current state of municipal waste in EU member states, followed by a review of the various disposal technologies implemented. The difficulties and environmental concerns that must be overcome are discussed, as are the recommendations and possible future directions.

In this paper, a smart green energy management system based on DMX512 protocol that is established by United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) is proposed. The end user can monitor and control the LED lamps and electric powers according to the information received from the sensors by means of the channels of DMX512. In addition, the different color lights including red, green, and blue lights can be achieved by means of the color-mixing methods of red, green, and blue LEDs based on photometry theory. As a matter of fact, there have been attracted much attention on the mobile devices in recent years. In the study, a mobile device with an Android platform is used to control the electric power and LED lamps according to the information received from the ZigBee module immediately. However, the smart green energy management system based on DMX512 protocol has some merits, such as in real-time control, easy operation, low cost, etc.

Resumen
Co-firing wood pellets with coal is an attractive alternative energy generation method with economic, social, and environmental benefits for the US energy generation sector. One way to sustainably use wood pellets for co-firing is to create consumer-supported green pricing programs (GPPs). Our study surveyed residents of five states (Alabama, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) to investigate preferences for the attributes of a hypothetical GPP. The study applied the Best Worst Choice method, which employs the Best Worst Scaling (BWS) and binary choice (BC) task. The BWS analysis showed that residents of all five states most value the flexibility of contracts, the location of energy generation, and the reduction of carbon emissions as attributes of GPPs. The BC analysis, however, showed that residents are willing to pay a premium for length of contract, followed by reduction of carbon emissions and variability of payments. This study shows that the adoption of optimal GPP attributes can create real customer value. The success of GPPs will depend on increasing enrollment and public support; hence, the next step will be to increase awareness levels and green consciousness through sensitization in the form of public education exercises and media campaigns. Such measures will serve to inform and educate residents on the benefits of GPPs and lessen the gap between intrinsic value and willingness to pay for select attributes.

Resumen
Safety service patrols operate in more than 40 states and territories in the United States and each program operates with unique vehicles, uniforms, and equipment. Despite the variety of operator uniforms, legal and technical requirements at a national level dictate some choices, though color and style are largely at the discretion of states. Past research confirms that high-visibility safety apparel (HVSA) increases visibility. Biomotion markers on the joints further enhance visibility. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices specifies that personnel working in the right-of-way wear a Class 2 or 3 HVSA. A survey of states where service patrols operate found the majority use high-visibility yellow-green over red-orange, and Class 3 garments are preferred over Class 2. In relation to the base uniform, there is a mixture of maintenance-type uniforms, polo shirts, and no uniform specification at all. In a survey of Florida service patrol program managers and operators, conveying professionalism, comfort, and safety were the most valued aspects of uniforms. Operators understand the need to care and maintain HVSA, but may overestimate their ability to be seen at night by between two and four times the actual distance they are visible. When given a choice, operators preferred dark trousers with biomotion markers, though they were roughly split between the polo shirt/vest option and the integrated HVSA shirt that does not require use of a vest. A uniform protective outerwear was favored by almost all operators, and a ball cap was the headwear of choice.

Resumen
Institutions of higher education are significant economic engines and innovative places in local economies: they directly employ large numbers of people, often with well-paying jobs; they are magnets for businesses that service the student population; they educate and often assist students in securing first jobs; and they partner with local organizations and businesses to provide students with hands-on experiences while “giving-back” to the community. In this article, we examine the impact that institutions of higher education have as an engine of growth for the green economy and, specifically, assess their impact on the development of green jobs. Green jobs have been touted as an important strategy to simultaneously address both the economic downturn and environmental degradation. This article empirically assesses the impact that the knowledge economy has on the presence of green jobs in the 100 largest metropolitan regions in the United States. Our findings suggest that enhanced higher education and sustainability-oriented departments and centers have a positive impact on green job development in urban regions.

Resumen
The aim of this paper is that of investigating whether the integration process between environmental activities is important in the Spillovers flows analysis. For this reason, we explore the role of knowledge externalities for large international firms engaged both in environmental and in non-environmental activities. In particular, we develop a theoretical framework and an empirical analysis of the United States, Japan and Europe based upon a dataset composed of worldwide R&D-intensive firms. In order to deal with the firms’ unobserved heterogeneity and the weak exogeneity of the regressors, we implement the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method. The results show a differentiated impact of environmental spillovers on firms’ productivity and green performance, by suggesting some interesting policy implications in terms of actions to favor full sustainability of firms’ production.

Resumen
This article focuses on corporate contribution towards global carbon emissions and how to close existing policy gaps and internalize the external costs associated with carbon emissions. This article discusses the implementation of a corporate carbon tax as a calculated policy move to increase United States companies' adherence to environmental laws. Establishing monitoring systems, defining precise emission objectives, and incentivizing green technology are all steps toward improving corporate compliance and, thus, the environment. The plan emphasizes flexibility, compliance, and stakeholder participation to address any obstacles. Incentives for sustainable practices, lower emissions, innovation in clean technology, and environmental project funding are a few advantages of the proposed carbon price. Obstacles and limitations include industrial resistance, worries about competitiveness, and international cooperation requirements.

Resumen
There is a growing interest in green hydrogen, with researchers, institutions, and countries focusing on its development, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction. This paper explores the concept of green hydrogen and its production process using renewable energy sources in several leading countries, including Australia, the European Union, India, Canada, China, Russia, the United States, South Korea, South Africa, Japan, and other nations in North Africa. These regions possess significant potential for “green” hydrogen production, supporting the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy and promoting environmental sustainability through the electrolysis process, a common method of production. The paper also examines the benefits of green hydrogen as a future alternative to fossil fuels, highlighting its superior environmental properties with zero net greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, it explores the potential advantages of green hydrogen utilization across various industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors. The research suggests that green hydrogen can be the fuel of the future when applied correctly in suitable applications, with improvements in production and storage techniques, as well as enhanced efficiency across multiple domains. Optimization strategies can be employed to maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and reduce environmental impact in the design and operation of green hydrogen production systems. International cooperation and collaborative efforts are crucial for the development of this technology and the realization of its full benefits.

Resumen
The conversion to renewable energy can be achieved when cities and communities start to depend on sustainable resources capable of providing for the basic needs of the community, along with a reduction in the daily problems and issues that people face. These issues, such as poverty, hunger, sanitation, and economic difficulties are highlighted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to limit and eradicate these problems along with other environmental obstacles including climate change and Greenhouse Gases (GHGs). These SDGs, containing 17 goals target each sector and provide propositions to solve such devastating problems. Hydrogen contributes to the targets of these sustainable developments, since through its implementation in different industries the levels of GHG will drop and thus contribute to the climate change which Earth is facing. Further, through the usage of such resources, many job opportunities will also be developed, thus enhancing the economy, and lifting the status of society. This paper classifies the four different types of hydrogen and outlines the differences between them. The paper then emphasizes the importance of green hydrogen use within the shipping industry, transportation, and infrastructure, along with economic and social development through job opportunities. Furthermore, this paper provides case studies tackling green hydrogen status in the United Kingdom, United States of America, and European Union as well as Africa, United Arab of Emirates, and Asia. Finally, challenges and recommendations concerning the green hydrogen industry are addressed. This paper aims to relate the use of green hydrogen to the direct and indirect goals of SDG.

Resumen
Climate change poses a serious threat to the world, in particular to the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The organisation Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) represents the SIDS by giving them a voice in the United Nations. We discuss the different aspects of climate change and the role that a small actor like AOSIS plays in protecting the citizens of its member states rather than free ride on larger actors. Which strategies should AOSIS use to encourage an even more ambitious climate policy in the future? We suggest five relevant strategies: 1) Introduction of sanctions in the Paris Agreement, 2) A CO2 tax, 3) Subsidising new green technology, 4) That AOSIS should look for coalition partners, e.g. China, and 5) Even stronger focus on the linkage between climate change and future migration. Employing such strategies may save the SIDS from sinking into the sea and, at the same time, secure the target level from the Paris Agreement.

Resumen
Carbon neutrality is an important policy in the current global response to climate change and has been widely recognized by various industries. In the process of promoting carbon neutrality, new energy plays a pivotal role. In this study, the definition and connotation of new energy and its role and specific operation in the energy transition of carbon neutrality are firstly explained. Promoting new energy development requires significant green and low-carbon investments. Taking China as an example, this paper analyzes the opportunities brought by the carbon neutral process to the field of green finance and analyzes the main features and development trends of green finance in China at present. Then this paper proposes policy recommendations to strengthen the development of green finance in China in terms of improving the green financial policy system, enhancing the supply capacity of green financial services, and optimizing the supporting environment for green financial development. Finally, this paper analyzes the measures and experiences of the United States in promoting low-carbon development and proposes countermeasures for China's low-carbon development on the basis of the five major relationships that need attention in China's carbon-neutral process. That is, strengthen the top-level design and improve the regulatory policy system; optimize the energy structure and increase the proportion of clean energy; optimize the industrial structure and reduce energy consumption in key industries; build a complete low-carbon technology system and promote low-carbon technology research and development and demonstration applications, and encourage local conditions to explore low-carbon development paths. The development of green finance can contribute to the advancement of new energy technologies, thus contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.
