Resumen
I sei romanzi della scrittrice di origine somala Igiaba Scego qui presi in considerazione sono contraddistinti, specialmente i primi, da un accentuato plurilinguismo, data la presenza di parole somale, arabe, spagnole, francesi e inglesi, mescolate a voci dialettali romane e napoletane. Utilizzando queste opere come corpus si propone un glossario dei 153 migratismi che si sono rintracciati. Per ognuno di essi si segnalano le eventuali varianti grafiche e si riportano le informazioni grammaticali, la lingua di provenienza e il campo semantico. I significati, quando possibile, sono ricavati da fonti interne al corpus (glossari proposti dalla stessa autrice) o esterne (studi critici o vocabolari, qualora la registrazione lessicografica sia già avvenuta), altrimenti sono desunte a partire dal contesto. Per ogni migratismo si dà poi l’elenco delle occorrenze nel corpus e un breve commento in cui si riportano i dati relativi alla diffusione della parola nei corpora di raffronto considerati, costituiti da archivi giornalistici o testi web. Migrant words. Igiaba Scego’s migrantisms The novels of the Somali-born writer Igiaba Scego are characterized by a marked multilingualism. Especially in the early novels, we find Somali, Arabic, Spanish, French and English words, mixed with Roman and Neapolitan dialect voices. Using these works as a corpus, a glossary of the 153 “migratismi” that have been traced is proposed. For each one, any graphic variants, the grammatical information, the language of origin and the semantic field are reported. A definition of meaning is given from internal sources (Igiaba’s glossaries) or external sources (e. g. vocabularies or neological repertoires). In the absence of sources, the definition is taken from the context. For each “migratismo”, the list of occurrences in the corpus is given and also a brief comment in which the data relating to the spread of the word in the comparison corpora are reported.

Resumen
Il contributo discute alcuni lemmi greco-latini contenuti negli Hermeneumata Celtis, vasto glossario bilingue organizzato per capitoli tematici : le forme latine dei lemmi, tutte di difficile interpretazione, possono essere meglio comprese alla luce di alcuni passi isidoriani delle Differentiae e delle Etymologiae. Il rapporto così istituito fra gli Hermeneumata Celtis e Isidoro si presta a interpretazioni differenti in termini di reciproca dipendenza, che vengono indagate nella seconda parte del lavoro. La conclusione cui si giunge è che Isidoro utilizzava glossari bilingui grecolatini simili agli Hermeneumata Celtis.

Resumen
Glossaries of introductory textbooks in psychology, biology, and animal behavior were surveyed to find whether they included the word ‘behavior’. In addition to texts, encyclopedias and dictionaries devoted to the study of behavior were also surveyed. Of the 138 tests sampled across all three fields, only 38 (27%) included the term ‘behavior’ in their glossaries. Of the 15 encyclopedias and dictionaries surveyed, only 5 defined ‘behavior’. To assess whether the term ‘behavior’ has disappeared from textbook glossaries or whether it has usually been absent, we sampled 23 introductory psychology texts written from 1886 to 1958. Only two texts contained glossaries, and the word ‘behavior’ was defined in both. An informal survey was conducted of students enrolled in introductory classes in psychology, biology, and animal behavior to provide data on the consistency of definitions. Students were asked to “define the word ‘behavior’.” Analysis indicated the definition was dependent upon the course. We suggest that future introductory textbook authors and editors of psychology-based dictionaries and encyclopedias include ‘behavior’ in their glossaries.

Glossaries of Outlaw Language from Böszörmény The earliest authentic records of Hungarian cant are represented by glossaries dated from the final third of the 18th century, compiled in the process of criminal lawsuits against market thieves in Miskolc, Eger and [Hajdú]Böszörmény. The first glossary from Böszörmény was made in 1776 with its handwritten and print versions made in 1782. This paper is the first collective, philologically-reliable publication of the Böször- mény glossaries, which also introduces additional information related to these glossa- ries. This article is a presentation of a brief cultural glossary of Northern Sotho cooking terms. The glossary is mainly composed of names for utensils and ingredients, and action words for the processes involved in the preparation of cultural dishes. It also contains names of dishes tied to some idiomatic expressions in a way eliciting cultural experiences that can lead to an under-standing of indigenous knowledge systems. The article seeks to explore ways of capturing cultural glossaries to feed into the national dictionary corpora by using a case-study approach to investigate the processes that led to the generation of this specific school-based project. A number of issues that surfaced in this project, can possibly serve as models for the collection of authentic glossaries that can support dictionary making in African languages.

Resumo: O léxico é o nível da língua que mais revela o conhecimento de mundo de uma pessoa, uma vez que são as unidades lexicais a se referirem a elementos (ações, objetos, sentimentos, qualidades, eventos) do universo da vida humana. A realização deste trabalho foi motivada pela percepção da importância que a ampliação lexical tem no decorrer do caminhar de uma pessoa. Nessa ótica, é fato que a escola desempenha papel preponderante no desenvolvimento lexical de um aluno por ser o lugar em que ele entra em contato com um universo variado de textos. Desse modo, esta tese enfatizou aspectos referentes ao ensino-aprendizagem do vocabulário e apresenta subsídio metodológico, teórico e prático para o professor de Língua Portuguesa do Ensino Fundamental II, por meio de: i) orientações teóricas sobre o ensino do vocabulário; ii) sugestões sobre como ensinar o aluno a conhecer e a gostar de usar o dicionário e, desse modo, contribuir para que esse aluno utilize o dicionário como recurso didático útil, importante e prazeroso nos atos de leitura e de produção de textos; iii) exercícios diversos a respeito do vocabulário por intermédio de orientações para o aluno manusear o dicionário. Nessa perspectiva, os objetivos traçados para desenvolver este trabalho foram i) elaborar uma metodologia de ensino centrada nos aspectos da pedagogia do léxico durante as aulas de Língua Portuguesa do Ensino Fundamental II, mais precisamente nas turmas de 5ª. a 8ª. séries. Para a elaboração da proposta metodológica, no item em que são apresentados os exercícios de vocabulário, foi organizado um banco de dados no Programa Folio Views 4.2 com os textos dos Livros Didáticos utilizados nas aulas de Língua Portuguesa das escolas públicas da cidade de Cassilândia - Mato Grosso do Sul.
Abstract: The lexicon is the level of the language that shows the most the knowledge one has about the world, since the lexical unities refer to elements (actions, objects, feelings, qualities, events) of the human life universe. The fulfilment of this work was motivated by the perception of the importance that the lexical expansion has during someone's journey. From this point of view, it's a fact that the school has an important role on the lexical development of a student because it's the place where he/she is in contact with a great variety of texts. Thereby, this thesis emphasized the aspects related to vocabulary teaching and shows a methodological, theoretical and practical subsidy for the Basic Education Portuguese teacher by means of: i) theoretical orientations about vocabulary teaching; ii) suggestions on how to teach a student to know and like a dictionary and, this way, to contribute that this student will use the dictionary as a useful, important and pleasurable didactic resource, while reading and writing; iii) several exercises on vocabulary with some orientations about how the student can use the dictionary. From this perspective, the objective traced to develop this work was: i) to produce a methodology of teaching based on the aspects of the lexicon pedagogy during the Portuguese classes of the Basic Education, precisely in the groups of 5th and 8th grades. In this work, in the item where the exercises on vocabulary are presented, a database was organized in the Program Folio Views 4.2 with the texts extracted from the books used in the Portuguese classes of public schools in the city of Cassilândia - Mato Grosso do Sul.
Resumen: El léxico es un nivel de la lengua que más demuestra el conocimiento del mundo de una persona, puesto que son las unidades lexicales que se refieren a elementos (acciones, objetos, sentimientos, cuadidades, eventos) del universo de la vida humana. La realización de este trabajo fue motivada por la percepción de la importancia que la amplicación lexical tiene en el decurrir del caminar de una persona. En esa óptica, es facto que la escuela mantiene papel preponderante en el desesarollo lexical de un alumno por ser el lugar en que él entra en contacto con un universo variado de textos. Así, esta tesis ha enfatizado aspectos que se refieren a la enseñanza del vocabulario subsidio metodológico, teórico y práctico para el maestro de Lengua Portuguesa de la Enseñanza Fundamental por medio de: i) orientaciones teóricas sobre la enseñanza del vocabulario; ii) sugerencias sobre cõmo enseñarle al alumno a conocer y a gustar de usar el diccionario y, así, contribuir para que ese alumno utilize el diccionario como recurso didáctico útil, importante y plazeroso en los actos de lectura y de producción de textos; iii) ejercicios variados a respecto del vocabulario por intermédio de orientaciones para el alumno utilizar el diccionario. l presente lavoro è concepito come una risorsa di cui usufruire per migliorare le condizioni di partenza di una sessione di interpretariato sull’agricoltura biodinamica. Una tempestiva fornitura da parte dei committenti di materiale informativo relativamente al tema della conferenza può risultare determinante ai fini di un interpretariato di qualità. Ma il materiale formativo è raramente prodotto da interpreti e raramente per gli interpreti e, se non si tratta del testo del discorso da tradurre, rischia di essere poco utile. Ecco che quindi acquisisce una certa valenza il punto di vista dell’interprete qualificato, che riesce più facilmente di altri profili a produrre materiale informativo per chi si appresta ad effettuare un interpretariato, individuando in maniera più immediata di un “non addetto ai lavori” ciò che il processo di preparazione richiede e come quest’ultimo andrà ad influire sulla buona riuscita o meno dell’interpretariato in questione. L’agricoltura è stata uno dei primi settori produttivi a subire il processo di integrazione europea. Con la recente (ri)scoperta dell’importanza della sostenibilità e quindi dell’agricoltura biologica, questo processo ha subito un nuovo impulso, specialmente in seguito all’emanazione di nuove leggi e alla conseguente elaborazione di una quantità considerevole di materiale in tutte le lingue ufficiali dell’UE. In questo contesto, è interessante osservare e approfondire la lingua speciale dell’agricoltura biodinamica, movimento interno al fenomeno del biologico ma che ne è al contempo anche il principale precursore. Il metodo biodinamico è infatti dotato di una terminologia ancora non completamente standardizzata, ma molto ricca di concetti tipici. Aiutare l’interprete a fare propri questi concetti, per migliorare la propria performance così come per approfondire meglio l’argomento è stato lo scopo del lavoro.

Resumen
Lo scopo della presente tesi è la creazione di un glossario bilingue italiano-francese sul dominio dell'agroecologia, che funga da risorsa terminologica per gli interpreti che hanno la necessità di documentarsi sull'argomento. L’agroecologia è una scienza, un movimento e un insieme di tecniche che si pone come alternativa all’agricoltura convenzionale, nel tentativo di limitarne le esternalità negative. Per realizzare il glossario è stato necessario innanzitutto approfondire i linguaggi specialistici per comprenderne le caratteristiche. In seguito, sono stati analizzati i fondamenti della terminologia e delle sue applicazioni pratiche, per stabilire quali approcci adottare nel processo di selezione e catalogazione dei termini. Poi, lo studio del dominio attraverso pubblicazioni di riferimento e la consultazione di un esperto hanno fornito le conoscenze di base necessarie ad avviare il processo terminologico. L’ausilio del software BootCat è stato imprescindibile nella fase di creazione dei corpora, così come il software AntConc lo è stato nella fase di estrazione terminologica e di individuazione degli equivalenti interlinguistici. Il risultato è stato la creazione di un glossario, presentato in appendice, composto da 72 voci in italiano, con altrettanti equivalenti interlinguistici in francese. Le voci integrano termini legati sia alla dimensione tecnica che a quella socio-economica del dominio. Infine, per ogni voce del glossario sono stati compilati diversi campi linguistici ed extralinguistici, volti ad ampliare le informazioni fornite all’utente e a permettere una futura integrazione in un TermBase.

Resumen
La presente tesi di dottorato intende proporre uno studio aggiornato e una nuova edizione critica di un curioso testo iberoromanzo noto con il titolo di “Historia Troyana Polimétrica”. L’opera, parziale “traduzione” del “Roman de Troie” di Benoît de Sainte-Maure, rappresenta una rarità nel panorama letterario medievale tanto per l’insolita conformazione testuale, quanto per la travagliata e intricata trasmissione manoscritta. Si tratta, in effetti, di un prosimetrum che intercala a una prosa altrimenti monotona e ridondante, delle inserzioni poetiche briose e polimetriche. I “versos”, utilizzati per interrompere la narrazione, sottolineare gli episodi salienti e dar voce ai personaggi, si organizzano di volta in volta in strutture metrico-stilistiche differenti, rispondendo a una precisa istanza sperimentale coraggiosamente portata avanti dal nostro anonimo autore. La prima sezione di questo lavoro offre, dunque, un’introduzione bibliograficamente aggiornata delle principali opere di materia troiana diffuse o composte in Spagna a cavallo dei secoli XIII e XIV, così da tracciare e delimitare un preciso panorama storico-letterario entro il quale si colloca il testo di cui ci occupiamo. Particolare importanza assume l’ultimo paragrafo di questa introduzione, in cui vengono descritte più da vicino le coordinate e le direttrici principali della produzione letteraria di tema troiano in ambito iberoromanzo. La seconda sezione si occupa invece di indagare la particolarissima tradizione manoscritta dell’opera, a partire da una nuova ricognizione dei codici relatori. Viene quindi tracciato e discusso lo stemma codicum e vengono analizzati i dati relativi alla cronologia dell’opera, per la quale viene proposta anche una nuova ipotesi di datazione. Dopo aver passato in rassegna le caratteristiche del genere letterario del prosimetro, si indagano le fonti dell’opera allargando la comparazione alle prosificazioni del romanzo francese alla “Crónica troyana di Alfonso XI”, testo strettamente connesso al nostro. La terza sezione, invece, è interamente occupata dall’edizione, preparata secondo i criteri descritti e argomentati nello studio critico. A complemento della nuova edizione si propongono la traduzione italiana integrale del testo e un paragrafo di note lessicali ed etimologiche utili a chiarire il significato dei termini più complessi. Trovano infine spazio in appendice le trascrizioni paleografiche dei due manoscritti che tramandano l’opera.
Esta tesis doctoral tiene como objetivo proponer un estudio riguroso y una nueva edición crítica de un curioso texto medieval español conocido como “Historia Troyana Polimétrica”. Esta “traducción” parcial del “Roman de Troie” de Benoît de Sainte-Maure se configura como un elemento raro en el panorama de la literatura medieval tanto por su estructura peculiar como por su compleja transmisión textual. Se trata, en realidad, de un prosimetrum que alterna largas secciones en una prosa bastante monótona con poemas sugestivos y polimétricos. Los versos, que son utilizados por el autor para interrumpir la narración, enfatizar determinados episodios y dar voz al “yo” lirico de los personajes, ofrecen diferentes estructuras métricas y procedimientos estilísticos, y responden a un proyecto literario de carácter experimental llevado a cabo con éxito por su autor. La primera sección del trabajo nace de la voluntad de ofrecer una introducción actualizada de las obras principales sobre el tema del ciclo troyano que circularon o se crearon en España entre los siglos XIII y XIV, con el objetivo de ilustrar el contexto histórico-literario en el que germina la Polimétrica. De particular importancia es el párrafo final de esta sección, en el que se analizan las coordenadas principales de la producción literaria troyana en ámbito iberorrománico. El segundo capítulo está dedicado al análisis de la tradición manuscrita de la obra y se inicia por una nueva recognitio codicum. A continuación, se fija un stemma y se analizan los datos sobre la cronología del texto, para el que se plantea una nueva propuesta de datación. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se ha ampliado el cotejo de la “Historia Troyana Polimétrica” a las cinco prosificaciones francesas y a la “Crónica troyana de Alfonso XI”, a la que está estrechamente vinculado nuestro texto. Finalmente, la última parte de la Tesis (y que, sin duda, es la fundamental) recoge una nueva edición del texto, establecida conforme a los criterios editoriales expuestos en la sección correspondiente del trabajo, y para la que se ha optado por un doble aparato en que se recogen las formas rechazadas de la tradición y las soluciones de los otros editores. Como complemento a la edición, se aporta por un lado una traducción al italiano, y, por otro, un párrafo de notabilia léxicas y etimológicas que aclaran los términos más complejos que surgen en el texto. Cierra la investigación un Apéndice que recoge las transcripciones paleográficas de los dos manuscritos que han transmitido la “Historia Troyana Polimétrica”, transcripciones que permiten al lector seguir con facilidad las intervenciones realizadas en la edición crítica.

Resumen
The present paper deals with an exploratory study on the terminological consistency of four selected project management glossaries. To systematically carry out the study, eight activities were established. Regarding the information consistency sub-characteristic, this work includes a comparison and analysis of both the syntactic and semantic consistency of the terms in the glossaries. To do this, nine terminological categories were conceived for the project area, in which, for each glossary, a given term is included in a category, considering the semantics intended in the definition of the term by the authors. This categorization of terms allows us to comparatively analyze syntactic and semantic similarities, and in turn consistencies and inconsistencies. As a final goal, this study will help us examine our previously developed project ontology and recommend adoptions and adaptations.

Resumen
For software testing, this work performs a comparison and analysis of syntactic and semantic similarities and discrepancies between 3 glossaries. To conduct the study, 8 terminological categories were conceived, which were used to categorize each glossary term, considering the intended semantics. Also, to count the occurrence frequency of a term in the glossaries, a tool was built that also takes into account the matching of synonyms. Then, the analysis of similarities and discrepancies, as well as absent terms for a subset of them, is performed using metrics and expert interpretations. This study identifies several disagreements in standard terminologies that should merit further attention and efforts to promote harmonization amongst the authors/ publishers of these glossaries with the overarching end goal of assisting their readers in learning and understanding the domain of software testing.

The paper discusses the possibility of a potential reception between F.-R. Chateaubriand and S. S. Uvarov in pamphlets on Napoleon in 1814. The author (in the process of comparative comparison of political and cultural glossaries and rhetorical strategies of both figures) draws on the methodological tools of the Cambridge School of the “History of Concepts” (Q. Skinner and J.G.A. Pocock). Based on this analysis, a conclusion is drawn about the similarities and differences between rhetorical strategies, political, and cultural glossaries in the designated pamphlets about Napoleon.

What is Moodle? The heart of Moodle is courses that contain activities and resources. There are many different types of activities available (forums, glossaries, wikis, assignments, quizzes, choices (polls), scorm players, databases etc). Each activities can be customised quite a lot. The activities I think might be handy when using Moodle in a Primary school is: glossaries (create glossaries of definitions and display them in a block within a course), links (collect links to other sites), web pages (upload class or embed YouTube videos and embed in Moodle web pages), game module, forums, 'Parent' role - give logins to parents using the Parent role to show what students have been doing in class, lightbox galleries (upload class photos) of excursions and projects, notes, calendaring (add in events for, which can be shown on the Moodle homepage) etc. Even with baby steps, Moodle entered into primary and pre-primary education. In fact, most of the activities used at secondary or tertiary level can be used in (at least upper) primary education, although the content may be not so sophisticated. The requirements are very simple. Into a lesson, you cannot move to the next step without a correct answer, but the possibilities are endless. Even though the demanding level is very low, the pupils can easily understand what is all about. Still, these opportunities are not used in most primary school in Romania. The Moodle Romanian community appreciate any examples, ideas for using Moodle in the primary school environment. We meet few elementary school teachers with a couple of ideas in Moodle Moot 2014, Cluj Napoca.

Urban studies look at food in a broad perspective. Since existent glossaries on food are biased towards cooking, nutrition, and culinary arts, the necessity to compile a more expansive glossary on food was felt. The Dictionary of Food Science and Nutrition, Glossary on Right to Food (2009) and Food Control System Assessment Tool: Introduction and Glossary were the main sources consulted. Additionally, various online resources, particularly the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), were used for out of context definitions.

Climate change is a complex subject with terms and definitions that can seem overwhelming to non-specialists. What is ‘albedo’? What does ‘radiative forcing’ mean? What does ‘geoengineering’ entail? As climate change impacts grow more frequent and intense, it is critical that journalists, in particular, are equipped with the right information when they report. This set of open-access multilingual glossaries aim to bridge the gap between research and the general public by compiling this comprehensive list of most frequently-used terms related to climate change. A majority of these terms have been sourced from the different IPCC reports as well as public platforms such as the BBC and the Climate Reality Project.
