Resumen
L’interprétation de la philosophie de Gilles Deleuze comme « projet de rédemption » fait de lui un candidat propre à une évaluation théologique. Afin de révéler l’importance potentielle de Deleuze pour la théologie, je me concentre d’abord sur les caractéristiques mêmes de ce projet de rédemption. Dans la deuxième partie de cet article, je confronte les idées de Deleuze à la théologie de la libération. Est-ce que sa vision politique est assez forte pour pouvoir supporter une théologie de la libération ou offre-t-il plutôt une « ontologie pour le bouddhiste occidental » ? Je conclurai que la pensée de Deleuze tend vers cette deuxième option.

Straipsnyje analizuojama dviejų Deleuze’o tapsmo ontologiją paveikusių klasikinių filosofų – Benedikto Spinozos ir Gottfriedo Leibnizo koncepcijos, ieškant jų įtakos pagrindinėms Deleuze’o sąvokoms. Tyrimo atspirties tašku pasirinkti Deleuze’o veikalai, skirti analizuoti minėtiems autoriams, kuriais remdamasis Deleuze’as kūrė savo autorinę filosofiją. Straipsnyje remiamasi teze, jog Deleuze’o filosofija nesuvokiama be nuorodų į klasikinę filosofiją. Jo sąvokos – senųjų sąvokų keitimo ir atnaujinimo rezultatas. Straipsnio pradžioje nagrinėjama Deleuze’o santykio su klasikiniais autoriais problema: kokios priežastys ir motyvai skatino Deleuze’ą domėtis filosofijos istorija pasirenkant mąstytojus, išvengiančius filosofijos tradicijos? Kokia prieiga prie klasikinių tekstų jam būdinga?Pagrindiniai žodžiai: imanencija, išraiška, būties vienbalsiškumas, klostė, įvykis.The Theoretical Origins of Some Gilles Deleuze’s ConceptsLaura Junutytė SummaryThe article analyzes the conceptions of Benedictus Spinoza and Gotfryd Leibniz, the authors who mostly influenced the ontology of becoming of Gilles Deleuze. The main object of this research is the first Deleuze’s publications about the traditional philosophers who became the basis for creating his original philosophy. The main thesis of this article is that Deleuze’s philosophy is incomprehensible without references to traditional philosophy because his concepts are a result of the transformation of old concepts. In the beginning of the article, the problem of Deleuze’s relationship with classical philosophers is considered: what kind of reasons and motives forced Deleuze to follow the history of philosophy and to choose the authors who avoid the tradition of philosophy? And what method was applied in reading these classical texts?Keywords: immanence, expression, univociy of being, the fold, the event.

This interview, conducted over the span of several months, tracks the respective journeys of Constantin V. Boundas and Daniel W. Smith with the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. Rather than “becoming Deleuzian,” which is neither desirable nor possible, these exchanges reflect an array of encounters with Deleuze. These include the initial discoveries of Deleuze’s writings by Boundas and Smith, in-person meetings between Boundas and Deleuze, and the wide-ranging and influential philosophical work on Deleuze’s concepts produced by both Boundas and Smith. At stake in this discussion are key contributions by Deleuze to continental philosophy, including the distinction between the virtual and the actual and the very nature of a “concept.” Also at stake is the formative or pedagogical impact of a philosopher, like Deleuze, on those who find and fully engage with his texts, concepts, and project. Cette interview, menée sur plusieurs mois, suit les parcours respectifs de Constantin V. Boundas et Daniel W. Smith avec la philosophie de Gilles Deleuze. Au lieu de « devenir Deleuzien, » ce qui n’est ni souhaitable ni possible, ces échanges reflètent un éventail de rencontres avec Deleuze. Il s’agit notamment des premières découvertes des écrits de Deleuze par Boundas et Smith, des rencontres en personne entre Boundas et Deleuze, et du travail philosophique vaste et in􀏔luent sur les concepts de Deleuze produit par Boundas et Smith. This article raises the question of the possibility to use some theoretical insights of Deleuze and Guattari for solving particular problems arising in education. The author discusses the concept of bodymind education formulated by Semetsky from the Deleze’s example of learning as swimming. The author doubts if learning as representation is not valuable in some unexpected situations. She also describes the real example of the successful bodymind learner who experienced failure in university studies in order to involve the Deleuzian/Guattarian opposition to vertical learning and the idea of transversality as the possible solution for unsuccessful learning in university situation.

Partindo da relação entre a literatura de Samuel Beckett e a filosofia de Gilles Deleuze, o artigo tem como objetivo discutir o papel da repetição na escrita de Beckett, não somente como procedimento técnico ou retórico, mas como parte de seu projeto poético mais amplo. Para tanto, parte-se da constatação dos diálogos existentes entre as obras dos autores, e de seu projeto comum de subversão da representação, para se chegar ao argumento de que a repetição, que se faz mais e mais presente no estilo maduro de Beckett, consiste em uma repetição do diferente, pensada nos termos propostos por Deleuze.Palavras-chave: Samuel Beckett; Gilles Deleuze; Repetição; Diferença.Abstract: This article aims to discuss the role of repetition procedure in Samuel Beckett’s writings as a part of his major poetic project. <p>Francis Bacon as a precursor of modern painting, in addition to reputation in the fields of visual arts, has attracted the attention of many philosophers and scholars of the twentieth century due to its creative and controversial works. One of these philosophers is Gilles Deleuze. Gilles Deleuze is written numerous works in various fields ranging from photography and cinema to the history of philosophy. In a book entitled “Francis Bacon: The Logic of Sense”, Deleuze presented a new understanding of the concepts contained and hidden in Bacon’s paintings of Bacon. Seeking to explore Bacon’s position in painting and also Deleuze’s position in the philosophy, the current study intends to analyze Deleuze philosophical interpretation of the works of Bacon.</p>

This article charts differences between Gilles Deleuze's and Gaston Bachelard's philosophies of science in order to reflect on different readings of the role of science in Deleuze's philosophy, in particular in relation to Manuel DeLanda's interpretation of Deleuze's work. The questions considered are: Why do Gilles Deleuze and Gaston Bachelard develop radically different philosophical dialectics in relation to science? What is the significance of this difference for current approaches to Deleuze and science, most notably as developed by Manuel DeLanda? It is argued that, despite its great explanatory power, DeLanda's association of Deleuze with a particular set of contemporary scientific theories does not allow for the ontological openness and for the metaphysical sources of Deleuze's work. The argument turns on whether terms such as ‘intensity’ can be given predominantly scientific definitions or whether metaphysical definitions are more consistent with a sceptical relation of philosophy to contemporary science.

This paper is an attempt to explicate the relationship between Spinozist expressionism and philosophical constructivism in Deleuze's work through the concept of immanent causality. Deleuze finds in Spinoza a philosophy of immanent causality used to solve the problem of the relation between substance, attribute and mode as an expression of substance. But, when he proceeds to take up this notion of immanent causality found in Spinoza in Difference and Repetition, Deleuze instead inverts it into a modal one such that the identity of substance may be said only of the difference of the modes. Complicating this further, Deleuze and Guattari claim in A Thousand Plateaus that substance, attribute, and mode are each, themselves, multiplicities. What is Philosophy? takes up immanent causality once again, this time through a constructivist lens aimed at resolving the question of the relation between philosophical multiplicities: ‘plane,’ ‘persona,’ and ‘concept.’ By following the different formulations of immanent causality in these works this essay hopes to discover the relationship between Spinozist expressionism and philosophical constructivism in Deleuze's work.

The physical sciences include highly developed fields that investigate intensities in the form of intensive quantities like speeds, temperatures, pressures and altitudes. Some contemporary readers of Deleuze interested in the physical sciences at times attribute to Deleuze a common, contemporary scientific concept of intensive magnitude. These readings identify Deleuze's philosophical conception of intensity with an existing scientific conception of intensity. The essay argues that Deleuze does not in fact lift a conception of intensity from the physical sciences to embed it as the fundamental term in his differential ontology.

In the philosophy of Deleuze and Guattari, nomadism works as an approach to the creation of concepts that favour space: geophilosophy. Nomadism is the way in which one crosses the plane of immanence and the many becomings; in fact, nomadism exceeds the ancient rhetoric of the subject because its disposition belongs to the multiple and to the environment in which it can unfold. In this sense, the disorientation in the present appears less disturbing; it is rather a shift in perspective, certainly difficult to understand in the time in which the mega-machine of power is becoming more and more persecutory. Lines of flight, movements of slippage, becoming-woman, becoming-child, becoming-minor refer not only to the exercise of criticism, but also to the production of assemblages that intend to resist the present.

Para Deleuze, a própria natureza do conceito emerge de tais “contatos imediatos” com algo sem precedentes e até mesmo apocalíptico, que não pode ser representado, mas, no entanto, precisa ser pensado. O filósofo sci phi usa a sensação de seus encontros em seu corpo e sua mente, quer estas sejam marcas que entalharam sua carne delicada, ou as impressões fora-deste-mundo que se resolveram em expressões, ou as experiências que formaram as dobras delicadas da matéria cinza.

Este texto é uma apresentação da interpretação feita por Gilles Deleuze da filosofia de Henri Bergson. Procura-se enfocar os temas que viriam a ser retomados pela filosofia deleuziana, sendo desenvolvidos em Diferença e repetição e a partir dessa obra. Dentre os mais relevantes, encontra-se o tema da ontologia afirmativa, que envolve a passagem do virtual para o atual através do processo de diferenciação do ser. O ser não deixa de ter existência ao atualizar-se, mas ele diferencia a si mesmo nesse processo, individuando-se como as coisas presentes na experiência. O ser é, desse modo, pré-individual e pré-subjetivo. Em Bergson, haveria a coexistência virtual de todos os graus de diferenças na duração.

Resumen
Procuraremos pensar com esse trabalho a especificidade da performance docente de Gilles Deleuze. Tomando como vetor relatos esparsos acerca de suas aulas, abordaremos a concepção de ensino de filosofia forjada pelo filósofo francês ao longo do exercício de sua atividade docente. Deleuze, em suas aulas, optava por seguir uma linha pedagógica muito distante daquela consagrada pelas academias, adotando como aporte privilegiado para expressar o seu pensamento – bem como o de outros filósofos – o espaço literário ao invés da história da filosofia. Visando acentuar a especificidade do trabalho professoral de Deleuze, propomos contrapor sua postura docente com a de outro importante filósofo, Immanuel Kant. Tal comparação demonstra-se possível uma vez que o tema sobre a impossibilidade de ensinar ou aprender o filosofar é algo em comum a ambos os pensadores, embora sejam filósofos que se encontram em campos de pensamento distintos. Apesar da distância, ambos os pensadores concordam que o filosofar não é algo da ordem da imitação, mas sim da criação. O intuito com tal trabalho de pensamento será o de sugerir algumas problematizações para se pensar o tópico ensino de filosofia.Abstract: With this work, we seek think the specificity of the teaching performance of Gilles Deleuze. Taking as vector scattered reports of their classes, we discuss the philosophy of teaching concept forged by the French philosopher during the year of his educational activity. Deleuze, in his classes, chose to follow a very distant pedagogical line that consecrated by the academies, adopting as privileged contribution to express his thoughts - as well as other philosophers - the literary space instead of the history of philosophy for example. In order to emphasize the specificity of professorial work of Deleuze, we propose counteract his teaching position with another important philosopher, Immanuel Kant. This comparison shows is possible since the theme of the impossibility of teaching or learning the philosophy is something common to both thinkers, although they are philosophers who are in different fields of thought. Despite the distance, both thinkers agree that philosophy is not something of the order of imitation, but of creation. The aim with this work of thought will be to suggest some problematizations to think about the topic of teaching philosophy. Keywords: Gilles Deleuze. Afeccion. Performativity. Teaching Philosophy. Realiza-se neste trabalho uma comparação das posições de Hannah Arendt e Gilles Deleuze em relação à importância da narratividade como meio para resistir e dar sentido à vida humana. Tanto Hannah Arendt quanto Gilles Deleuze sustentariam que o exercício da escrita é um meio para resistir ao totalitarismo e à banalidade do mal, nos termos da filósofa judia e alemã; ou uma maneira de clinicar em uma sociedade doente que procura asfixiar qualquer tipo de vitalismo individual, nas palavras de Gilles Deleuze.
