Ekphrasis: Instead of describing what they were seeing, they created what was described This contribution goes into the domain of current research in Visual Arts didactics putting in evidence the methods of the “réception d’œuvre”. It reports an artistic learning project based on René and Madeleine Junod’s collection and practiced during four month of weekly Visual Arts lessons in two 7th grade classes of a public school in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The project was built in three parts: an “ekphrasis” activity, which implies describing by words a few paintings of the collection, then copying them using the “grille de copie” method; a few “games of observation skills stimulation” during the visit of a museum, then reinforced and completed by the “painting and drawing activities” at home and in the classroom. This article focuses only on the first exercise of the “ekphrasis” in which four paintings descriptions, all of different styles, themes and artists, were given to the students. Each description setting represented a constraint in terms of images composition and interpretation of a specific Visual Arts vocabulary.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Clinical significance The apical extrusion of infected debris may have the potential to disrupt the balance between microbial aggression and host defense, resulting in incidents of acute inflammation. During preparation, irrigants and debris, such as bacteria, dentin filings and necrotic tissue may be extruded into the periradicular region leading to periapical inflammation and postoperative flare ups. Using an instrumentation technique that minimizes apical extrusion would be beneficial to both the practitioner and patient. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the weight of debris and volume of irrigant extruded apically from extracted teeth in vitro after endodontic instrumentation using four different rotary root canal instrumentation systems. Materials and methods Four groups of each 20 extracted mandibular premolars were instrumented using one of the four systems: ProTaper Universal (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland)), Hero-shaper (MicroMega, Besancon, France), RaCe (FKG Dentaire, La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) and K3 (SybronEndo, West Collins, CA). Debris and irrigant extruded from the apical foramen during instrumentation were collected in preweighed test tubes. Volume of irrigant extruded was noted. The containers were stored in incubator at 70° for two days to evaporate the moisture. Weight of dry debris was noted. Statistical analysis Data was analyzed using Kruskall-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U test at a significance of 0.001. Results The results indicated that all of the instrumentation systems tested caused measurable apical extrusion of debris and irrigants. Higher extrusion was observed with Protaper system which was statistically significant with Hero-Shaper, RaCe and K3 systems. There were no statistical differences between Hero-shaper, K3 and RaCe systems (p < 0.05). Conclusion All instrumentation techniques apically extruded debris and irrigant. However, Hero-shaper, K3 and RaCe systems produced less extruded debris and irrigant than the Protaper system. Resumen
Calcium silicate-based sealers were recently introduced as a new class of endodontic sealers, with potential further benefits due to their bioactivity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of two new hydraulic calcium silicate-based sealers, TotalFill BC Sealer (FKG, La Chaux-des-Fonds, Switzerland) and TotalFill BC Sealer HiFlow (FKG, La Chaux-des-Fonds, Switzerland) through subcutaneous implantation in connective tissue of rats. Subcutaneous implantation was performed in 16 young Wistar rats. Four polyethylene tubes were implanted in each animal, one empty to serve as a control, and three filled with tested sealers: AH Plus as reference (Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Germany), TotalFill BC Sealer (BC) and TotalFill BC Sealer HiFlow (HiFlow). Eight rats were euthanized at 8 days and the remaining eight at 30 days. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to score the inflammatory reaction, macrophage infiltrate and to measure the thickness of the fibrous capsule. von Kossa staining was performed to evaluate the mineralization level. Kruskal–Wallis test followed by Dunn’s post hoc test was used to analyze non-parametric data. To analyze the influence of the implantation time within each material, a Mann–Whitney U test was performed. At eight days post-implantation, AH Plus induced a more intense inflammatory reaction when compared both with the control (p ≤ 0.001) and BC (p ≤ 0.01). HiFlow presented a higher score of macrophage infiltrate than control (p ≤ 0.01) and BC (p ≤ 0.05). The fibrous capsule thickness in this period was significantly higher for the BC group when compared to control (p ≤ 0.01) and AH Plus (p ≤ 0.05). The mineralization potential was higher for the HiFlow group when compared with the control (p ≤ 0.001) and AH Plus (p ≤ 0.001). At 30 days post-implantation, the score for the inflammatory reaction remained higher for the AH Plus group when compared both to control (p ≤ 0.01) and BC (p ≤ 0.001). The macrophage infiltrate of the HiFlow was significantly higher than control (p ≤ 0.001) and AH Plus groups (p ≤ 0.01), additionally, the fibrous capsule of the BC (p ≤ 0.001) and HiFlow (p ≤ 0.01) groups were both thicker than control. Mineralization potential was observed only on BC (p ≤ 0.05) and HiFlow groups (p ≤ 0.001), when compared to control). BC exhibited the best biocompatibility performance of all tested sealers and HiFlow provided the greatest induction of mineralized tissues. Both TotalFill BC Sealer and TotalFill BC Sealer HiFlow are biocompatible and show potential bioactivity when implanted in the subcutaneous tissue. Bioactivity was not found in AH Plus.

Resumen
Abstract The article approaches the inspiration of recycling at different levels of understanding. The introduction describes the meanings of the word recycling as it is perceived in relation to architecture. The first chapter approaches recycling through its most common understanding as material reuse, describing how the recycling of materials can inspire architecture. The second chapter takes up recycling in the sense of conversion, pointing out the particular importance of addressing this issue. The chapter mentions four theories dealing with approaches to conversion, which are specified through examples, and points to architectural recycling motivated by idea and by religion. The third chapter discusses architecture is inspired by recycling or reusing architectural elements that become the bearer of the idea of behind a new architectural concept. The fourth chapter reflects on understanding the recycling of architecture as taking on the formal image of historical architectural styles, thus reflected in the historical styles of the 19th century and postmodernism of the 20th century. The fifth chapter “Recycling the idea” seeks recycling at the level of the idea, by incorporating old ideas into modern concepts, referring to the Ideal City of Chaux and to Ricardo Bofill, the motif of the medieval mázhaus and Socrates’ house. In the sixth chapter, entitled “Recycling as a concept”, we read about inspiring architecture that takes on recycling at many levels of meaning, becoming important for objectifying the ideological essence of the work. The conclusion of the paper briefly summarizes the results of the work and its essence, summarizing a subjective evaluation of the issue.

Resumen
Sealer staining using rhodamine B dye to investigate the penetration depth of endodontic sealers was proven unsuitable for this purpose. This study aimed to investigate the sealer penetration depth into dentinal tubules by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Root canals of 52 human upper central incisors were instrumented using the ProTaper Gold NiTi system (Dentsply Sirona, York, PA, USA) up to size F3. After irrigation with sodium hypochlorite and citric acid combined with ultrasonic activation, the root canals were either filled using the epoxy resin sealer AH Plus (Dentsply Sirona) or the calcium silicate-based sealer Total Fill BC Sealer HiFlow (TFHF, FKG Dentaire, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) by warm vertical compaction. Root slices of 1 mm thickness were obtained at 2 to 3, 5 to 6 and 8 to 9 mm from the apex. The root slices were investigated for sealer penetration into the dentinal tubules using SEM according to four root quadrants (buccal, mesial, oral, distal). Statistical analysis was performed by the Kruskal-Wallis test (p = 0.05) as data were not normally distributed according to the Shapiro-Wilk test. AH Plus penetrated significantly deeper into the dentinal tubules compared to TFHF at each root level (p < 0.05). Dentinal sealer penetration was deeper in the bucco-oral direction compared to the mesio-distal direction. AH Plus penetrated deeper into dentinal tubules than TFHF. Warm vertical compaction exerting high pressure on the root canal filling material is not able to press sealers deep into dentinal tubules as penetration depth values did not exceed a mean of 110 µm in SEM.

Resumen
Aim: The purpose of this research was to compare the fracture resistance of obturated roots prepared by using the Race Evo, Edge File X7, and Protaper Gold file systems. Materials and methods: 60 extracted maxillary first molars were selected, their coronal portions were removed and their working length was calculated. The samples were separated into three experimental groups according to the used NiTi rotary systems and one control group; each group contains 15 samples. Group one remained uninstrumented (control), Groups 2-4 were instrumented by the Race Evo (FKG Dentaire SA, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland), Edge File X7(Edge Endo; Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States), and Protaper Gold file systems (Dentsply, Maillefer, Switzerland) respectively. After instrumentation, the experimental groups were filled using a single-cone technique. The sealer was mixed according to manufacturing instructions with master Gutta-Percha cones of size 40 (0.04 taper, (Diadent Group International, Korea) for Race Evo and Edge file X7, and size 40 taper 0.06 for the Protaper Gold file system (Dentsply, Maillefer, Switzerland). To set the sealer, the specimens were kept at 37 °C and 100% humidity for two weeks. The root fracture stress was measured in Newtons using Instron universal testing equipment. Results: One Way ANOVA test showed there was a significant difference in the mean value of the fracture resistance between the four groups (P < 0.05). The LSD test was used for the comparison of the multiple groups so the control group showed the highest fracture resistance among groups (p < 0.05). among the experimental groups, the roots prepared by Race Evo showed the highest fracture resistance (p < 0.05), while roots prepared by Protaper Gold and Edge file x7 showed the lowest fracture resistance with a statistically significant difference (p > 0.05)

Naturally, groundwater is generally drinkable and should be consumed without any prior treatment. Unfortunately, these waters are currently subject to strong anthropogenic pressure. This study aims to evaluate the physicochemical and microbiological quality of well water consumed in the Kombé district of Brazzaville. Four wells were identified and characterized. The characterization showed three wells equipped with the same protection and water rise systems and only one sampling point differed from the others by the water rise system. Thirty-three physicochemical parameters and nine microbiological parameters were evaluated using standardized and referenced methods. The results obtained reveal from the physicochemical point of view that the well water studied is poorly mineralized and all the physicochemical parameters meet WHO standards, except pH, the concentration of cadmium, chromium, phosphate ions as well as than silica in certain cases. Only one chemical family is highlighted: sodium and potassium chloride waters. Unfortunately, these waters are heavily loaded with Escherichia. coli, Salmonella and Shigella, total coliforms, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, total germs, staphylococci, yeasts and molds. They are unfit for human consumption and must undergo some preliminary treatments such as pH correction with lime and disinfection with sodium hypochlorite.

These four nouns are taken out of the article titles on offer in this issue. Uncover within the systemic transitions taking place, the coherence required, the resilience that has emerged, and the joy that may be found in food production, distribution and consumption. With this issue also comes the inaugural installment of a new series called the Canadian Food Studies Choux Questionnaire. A riff on the Proust Questionnaire, we skirt the obvious food-related point of entry, the madeleine. We are interested in more than just the remembrance of things past. The lighter, more versatile choux bun is the receptacle for everything from crème pâtissière to tuna, from food fears to greatest edible achievements. Food philosopher Lisa Heldke is our first respondent. And because we have been feeling particularly inquisitive of late, we have asked our contributing authors to tell us about themselves. It’s biography by way of lunch menus and food literature.

Myanmar has set renewable energy aspirations in the energy mix of the country to meet growing energy demand and to increase clean access to electricity as indicated in Myanmar’s Intended Nationally Determined Contribution. Among renewable energy resources, solar and wind energy are expected to contribute to 9% of total energy mix. Although there have been initiatives on the implementation of solar photovoltaic in Myanmar, implementation of wind energy has not been reported. Few studies on wind energy in Myanmar focused on resource assessment investigating the spatial variation of wind speed and power density. Little has been studied on the seasonal nature and persistence of wind in Myanmar from the perspective of energy generation. This study aims at generating wind speed and power density maps of Myanmar using most recent wind data from 2010 to 2017 to identify potential townships with favourable wind conditions. Prominent wind direction, seasonal variations and wind speed persistence were analyzed for four townships with favourable wind conditions. Weibull parameters suggest that frequency of wind is also favourable for wind energy generation. Hence, this study has identified Chauk, Kyaukpadaung, Meiktila and Natogyi townships as potential regions for wind energy development with estimated power producing time of 53.17% and 65.91% of a year at average wind speed of 4 m/s above. This study serves as a basis for further resource assessment for micrositing of wind turbines to identify feasible sites for wind energy generation in Myanmar.

Resumen
A new filovirus named Měnglà virus was found in bats in southern China in 2015. This species has been assigned to the new genus Dianlovirus and has only been detected in China. In this article, we report the detection of filoviruses in bats captured in Vietnam. We studied 248 bats of 15 species caught in the provinces of Lai Chau and Son La in northern Vietnam and in the province of Dong Thap in the southern part of the country. Filovirus RNA was found in four Rousettus leschenaultii and one Rousettus amplexicaudatus from Lai Chau Province. Phylogenetic analysis of the polymerase gene fragment showed that three positive samples belong to Dianlovirus, and two samples form a separate clade closer to Orthomarburgvirus. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that 9% of Rousettus, 13% of Eonycteris, and 10% of Cynopterus bats had antibodies to the glycoprotein of marburgviruses.

Resumen
Abstract Four new species of Heth are described from diplopods collected in different parts of Viet Nam: Heth vietnamensis sp. n. and H. tonkinensis sp. n. in Ba Vi National Park, Ha Tay Province; H. taybaci sp. n. in Lai Chau Province and H. taynguyeni sp. n. in Chu Yang Sin National Park, Dak Lak Province. The new species are morphologically related to those described from Papua New Guinea, but are differentiated by the form of the female cuticular armature. Heth vietnamensis sp. n. is characterised by the posterior end of the lappets overhanging the anterior pair of the lateral spines, the similar size of spines in both pairs and the presence of two pairs of small papillae on the anterior lip of the cloacal aperture. Heth tonkinensis sp. n. can be differentiated from the other species by having the longest lappets, lateral spines with fused bases and the unequal-sized spicule heads. Heth taybaci sp. n. has the shortest lappets of the described Vietnamese species, has gaps between the lateral spines that are wider than the spine base and the presence of a bursa-like cuticular fold at cloacal aperture level. Heth taynguyeni sp. n. males also have a bursa-like cuticular fold but, unlike H. taybaci sp. n., this species is characterised by the bifurcate distal tips of the spicule and the undulating inner margin of the lappets.

Resumen
This paper presents the results of a batch equilibrium adsorption experiment aimed at determining the retardation factors (R) of four heavy metal ions Ni2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, and Pb2+due to their adsorption on soil particles in an unsaturated zone. The experiments were carried out using clay-loam soil samples collected from Man Xa commune, Yen Phong district and Chau Khe commune, Tu Son city, Bac Ninh province, at two depths of 0÷15 cm and 15÷30 cm from the ground surface. The experimental adsorption procedure is followed by the equilibrium adsorption method. Results obtained showed that the adsorption of the 4 ions on soil particles in the two study areas is linear and followed the Freundlich model. This allows one to estimate the retardation factors of the 4 ions based on a model that includes the equilibrium adsorption coefficient (Kd), soil bulk density ((B) and soil porosity ((). The R values of the four ions in the soils of Man Xa and Chau Khe vary from 2.30÷16.27 depending on the nature of the adsorbate. Ion Pb2+ possesses the highest R value for Man Xa soil. The adsorption of Pb2+ is suggested to be followed by both physical and chemo-adsorption mechanisms, it participated in an ion-exchange process with protonium ion of goethite present in the soil, making the R value of the species to be different.

We provide an asymmetrical quantum key distribution protocol based on the correlations of EPR pairs. It is a variant of the modified Lo–Chau protocol where the EPR pair is not in the state Φ+ but is in one of the four states {Φ±, Ψ±}. The two sides communicating with each other are not equal in the process of establishing the key. A public key system can be built on the protocol. It differs from classical public key system in that there are three keys: the public key, the secret key and the real key.

Resumen
Coral reef-related fishery resources in Quy Nhon bay were assessed at four communes in 2016, using an investigation note with additional input from consultations with experienced local fishermen. This information was ground-truthed during field survey assessments of spawning and nursery grounds of target resources (December 2016 and April–June 2017). The total catch of reef-related target resources was about 637 tons/year, including 536 tons of fish, 130 tons of mollusks, 0.34 tons of spiny lobsters, 19 tons of collector urchins, and 3 tons/year of Gracilaria seaweeds. There were some 936,450 juveniles of fishes and lobster caught in each year, in which some 576,000 individuals of grouper juveniles (orange-spotted grouper and six-bar grouper) were mainly caught by Ghenh Rang commune, and some 360,450 individuals of lobster ‘seeds’ were caught by the four communes (Nhon Ly, Nhon Hai, Ghenh Rang and Nhon Chau). The total revenue from fishing at the 4 locations was some 90.81 billion VND (about 4,128,000 USD), with the highest value being recorded in Nhon Hai (41.23 billion VND), Nhon Ly (28.53 billion VND), Ghenh Rang (13.06 billion VND), and the lowest in Nhon Chau (7.99 billion VND). Commercial resources contributed 35.43% (32.17 billion VND) and seed collection 64.57% (58.64 billion VND). There were 16 important grounds found in Quy Nhon bay, including three spawning grounds of cuttlefishes and murex snails, and 13 nursery grounds of swimming crabs, lobster ‘seeds’, sea cucumbers, rabbitfishes, and groupers, in which Nhon Hai and Ghenh Rang supported six grounds for each.

Resumen
Abstract Reservoir-triggered seismic activity depends not only on the technical characteristics of the future reservoir (filling volume, the height of water column) but also on the seismo-tectonics and the natural seismic processes occurring in the area before construction of an artificial reservoir. Passive seismic monitoring was realised near Lai Chau (Vietnam) before the impoundment started. It allowed exploration of the natural seismicity in the area of the future dam. Locations of seismic events several months prior to the reservoir impoundment were observed with ten stations installed in the reservoir vicinity. Events were mainly located near the dam along the Da river headwaters fault. However, only four stations were available for the entire period before the impoundment. Despite the network limitations, completeness of seismic catalogue and b value were determined and may be used as a baseline for analysis of the seismicity in this area after impoundment. The magnitude completeness level is significantly smaller than in the broader seismogenic zones covering an area of the dam. The b value differs from the results obtained for regional seismicity of Northeastern Vietnam. The capability of the local network for moment tensor inversion was estimated with the use of synthetic data tests. Test results provided the requirements for the station number according to azimuthal coverage of the network to obtain the reliable full moment tensor (MT) solution. Preliminary analysis of the seismic activity after Lai Chau reservoir impoundment indicates some changes in activity related to the impoundment and reservoir exploitation.

Resumen
Green space is an integral part of ecotourism, it is also an important indicator f sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to assess the change in green space quality using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in the period 2005 - 2021 in Moc Chau district, Son La. Four satellite images including 2 Landsat 5 images and 2 Landsat 8 images taken in 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2021 are used to determine the NDVI value. The green space map is then classified into four classes based on the corresponding value ranges, namely, areas with non-green, low green, moderate green, and dense green. The results show a rapid decrease in areas with dense green while non-green areas and low green areas tend to increase rapidly in the past 16 years (2005 - 2021). This result is considered an important basis in the management and planning of sustainable development in the study area.

Resumen
Sideritis clandestina (Bory & Chaub.) Hayek subsp. peloponnesiaca (Boiss. & Heldr.) Baden (SCP) is endemic to the mountains of the Northern Peloponnese (Greece). This and other Sideritis taxa, collectively known as mountain tea, are widely ingested as beverages for refreshment or medicinal purposes. We describe a methodology for the characterization of SCP. Four iridoid glycosides (monomelittoside, melittoside, ajugoside, and 7-O-acetyl-8-epiloganic acid), two phenolic acid glycosides (vanillic and salicylic acid glycosides), and three caffeoyl ester glycosides (chlorogenic acid, verbascoside, and isoverbascoside) were isolated from SCP for the first time. We used ultrasound-assisted extraction of 3 g of plant material to produce petroleum ether and aqueous extracts, which we then analyzed using GC/MS and LC/MS. This was applied to eight samples from four different taxa. In total, 70 volatile and 27 polar metabolites were determined. The S. clandestina samples had a lower phenolic content and weaker antioxidant properties than S. raeseri and S. scardica. However, S. clandestina ssp. clandestina seemed to be the most aromatic taxon, with almost double the number of volatiles as the others. Τhis study could contribute to authentication and chemotaxonomic studies of Sideritis taxa.

Resumen
Alnus viridis (Chaix) DC., green alder, is a fast-growing shrub that grows expansively in the European mountainside. In Poland, A. viridis naturally occurs only in the Bieszczady Mountains (south-eastern part of the country), above the upper forest border. In this study, we assessed the potential of green alder to expand in post-farming areas in the Bieszczady Mountains. We investigated the effects of topographical, climatic, and edaphic characteristics of four various study sites on the physiological and morphological properties of A. viridis leaves in order to answer the question whether the growth of plants in lower positions improves their physiological condition to such an extent that it increases the species invasiveness. This is the first comprehensive ecophysiological study of this species to be carried out in this part of Europe. The photochemical efficiency of PSII, the chlorophyll content, and leaf 13C and 15N discrimination were analyzed. On the basis of leaf radiation reflection, coefficients such as reflectance indices of anthocyanins, carotenoids, flavonoids (ARI2, CRI1, FRI), photochemical index of reflection (PRI), and the water band index (WBI) were calculated. We observed favorable physiological effects in A. viridis plants growing in locations below the upper forest border compared to plants growing in higher locations. As a result, A. viridis may become an invasive species and disturb the phytocoenotic balance of plant communities of the altitudinal zones in the Polish Western Carpathians.

Resumen
A total of 13 samples of domestic cat Felis cattus (Linnaeus, 1758 ) and 9 samples of wild cat Felis chaus furax (de Winton, 1898) of the Felidae Family were trapped and examined to detect the hard ticks. The areas of the collection were: Baghdad, Al-Rashidiya, Tharthar, Nahrawan, AL-Mahmoudiya (middle of Iraq) and AL-Haretha (south of Iraq), Mosul (north of Iraq). The results of the current study revealed that four species belong to two genera of hard ticks: Haemaphysalis sp. (Koch, 1844), Rhipicephalus turanicus (Morel, 1969), Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Neumann, 1904) and Rhipicephalus appendiculatus (Santos, 1955). The rates and the density of infestation were discussed. The current study aimed to clarify the infestation difference between domestic and wild cats with hard ticks (3, 14.88) because domestic cats enjoy human attention, as they live close to him. The current study identified the Rhipicephalus appendiculatus for the first time in Iraq from domestic cat Felis cattus. Keywords: Felidae, Haemaphysalis, Ixodidae, Rhipicephalus, wild cat.

Resumen
The distribution of critical marine habitats in Quy Nhon Bay, Binh Dinh Province, was assessed with the combination of resolution of Google Earth images and local knowledge through local consultations and ground truthing using small boats to check the sites supporting coral reefs and seagrass beds with local involvement. Detailed surveys on species diversity and conditions of marine habitats were conducted at 24 sites of coral reefs and four sites of seagrass beds at three sites (Nhon Ly, Nhon Hai, Ghenh Rang, and Nhon Chau) in 2016–2017. More than 152 ha of coral reefs, 5 ha of seagrass beds, and 720 species belonging to 7 key groups (290 species of fishes; reef-building corals: 194, molluscs: 123, seaweeds: 47, echinoderms: 40, crustaceans: 20 and seagrasses: 6 species) associated with the above habitats were recorded in the Bay. Among them, 92 species were facing different threats, in which 3 species were endangered (EN), including branching corals (Alveopora minuta), flat pen shells (Atrina vexillum), and top shells (Tectus pyramis); 38 species at vulnerable (VU); and 51 species at near threatened (NT) following the IUCN Red List and Vietnam Red Book. In general, the coral reefs and seagrass beds at Bai Dua and Seo Island (Nhon Ly); Kho Nho Island, Bo Dap (Nhon Hai); S. Ngang Island, Bai Nam and Bai Nom of Dat Island (Ghenh Rang); Da Ban, Bai Lang, Bai Lang Ba and Ong Gia Island (Nhon Chau) supported higher diversity and better conditions than other sites. Establishing restricted zones at these sites is an urgent need, but it also holds the premise of sustainable utilization and conservation of resources in the future.

Resumen
Water level (WL) and terrestrial water storage (TWS) are two important indicators for early alerts of hydrological extremes. Their variation is governed by precipitation under monsoon variability, in particular in the Mekong river basin, where it is affected by the interaction between the Indian summer monsoon (ISM) and western North Pacific monsoon (WNPM). This study aimed to quantify the contributions of two monsoons to the water levels of four hydrological stations (i.e., My Thuan, Can Tho, Chau Doc and Tan Chau) on the Mekong Delta and the terrestrial water storage of the entire Mekong River basin through relative importance analysis. Three methods—multivariate linear regression; Lindeman, Merenda and Gold (LMG); and the proportional marginal variance decomposition (PMVD) methods—were selected to quantitatively obtain the relative influence of two monsoons on water level and TWS. The results showed that, from 2010 to 2014, the proportions of the ISM impacts on the water level obtained with the three methods ranged from 55.48 to 81.35%, 50.69 to 57.55% and 55.41 to 93.64% via multivariate linear regression, LMG and PMVD, respectively. Further analysis showed that different choices of time spans could lead to different results, indicated that the corresponding proportion would be influenced by other factors, such as El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO). The removal of ENSO further enlarged the relative importance of the ISM, and the mean values of the four stations were increased by 8.78%, 2.04% and 14.92%, respectively, via multivariate linear regression, LMG and PMVD. Meanwhile, based on the analysis of terrestrial water storage, it was found that the impact of the ISM on the whole Mekong River basin was dominant: the proportions of the impact of the ISM on terrestrial water storage increased to 68.79%, 54.60% and 79.43%, which rose by 11.24%, 2.96% and 19.77%, respectively, via linear regression, LMG and PMVD. The increases almost equaled the quantified proportion for the ENSO component. Overall, the novel technique of quantifying the contributions of monsoons to WL and TWS can be applied to the influence of other atmospheric factors or events on hydrological variables in different regions.

Resumen
Dau Ha Chau (DHC) was produced by selecting and growing native kinds of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour. in Vietnam, where the fruit is utilized for fresh eating not only due to its distinctive sour-sweet flavor, but also because of its vitamins and minerals for the body. With the aim to enhance the value of this fruit, the peel, pulp, and seed extracts were determined antioxidant, antibacterial and antidiabetic activities. The filtrates from ethanol extract of peel and seed powders and fruit juice from squeezing pulp were evaporated at 58°C to create the extracts. The six methods of TAC, DPPH, ABTS•+, RP, FRAP, and NO• (antioxidant activities), four bacterial strains and two enzymes (associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus) were evaluated. The results showed that the extract of DHC peel exhibited the highest antioxidant activity (EC50 value from the six methods), antibacterial activity (MIC value), enzyme inhibiting activity (IC50 value), total phenolics content and total flavonoids content, at 643.81 µg/mL, 787.42 µg/mL, 651.10 µg/mL, 718.22 µg/mL, 270.38 µg/mL, 662.44 µg/mL, 16 < MIC ≤ 32 mg/mL (against Propionibacterium acnes, Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus), 32 < MIC ≤ 64 mg/mL (against Staphylococcus aureus), 2780.91 µg/mL (against α-amylase), 541.24 µg/mL (against α-glucosidase), 119.43 mg GAE/g and 207.17 mg QE/g, respectively, whereas the opposite was true for extract of DHC seed. DHC pulp extract came second in all analytical methods. Pearson correlation coefficients with r value (0.63-0.99) showed a reasonably strong relationship between total phenolics and flavonoids contents, and antioxidant and enzyme inhibiting activities. This is the first report on the antioxidant, antibacterial and antidiabetic activities of DHC Ha Chau fruit extracts, which could be developed for medicinal, pharmaceutical, food preservative purposes, or industrial foods in the future.

Resumen
For more than forty years now, shape grammars have been the interest of many researchers in many domains including Paintings and Arts, Architecture, and Product Design [March, 2011]. However, by tracing the time line of shape grammars under “Product Design”, it does not show any interest in “Antiques or Vintages” as such [Chau et al. 2004]. This paper addresses shape grammars as a style generator of Bulgari’s emerald necklace designs, being considered as a vintage that bears a specific style, character and importance as a cultural symbol. The paper discusses the issue of style in design. Then it presents an analysis of four of Bvlgari’s emerald necklace designs to induce the shape rules governing the style. Then it presents a shape matrix out of which a new design is developed, which is compared to another Bvlgari’s existing product to demonstrate the applicability, value and advantages of the approach.

Resumen
This study was conducted at the National Tourist Area (NTA) of Sam Mountain in Chau Doc City, An Giang Province, Vietnam. The study surveyed 150 tourists using a questionnaire to assess the factors affecting visitor satisfaction with the quality of tourist services in the Sam Mountain NTA. The responses from the questionnaire were encoded and analyzed using Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient, the EFA exploratory factor, and regression analysis using SPSS 26.0. The research results showed that out of the four studied factors: Labour, type, infrastructure and tourist environment, labour had the most significant impact on tourists’ satisfaction when visiting the Sam Mountain NTA. The study also found that environmental factors had the least impact on tourist satisfaction. Addressing this issue requires local authorities at all levels to work together to implement solutions to improve the quality of services and meet tourists’ satisfaction levels when coming to the Sam Mountain NTA.

Resumen
Protecting metadata of communications has been an area of active research since the dining cryptographers problem was introduced by David Chaum in 1988. The Snowden revelations from 2013 resparked research in this direction. Consequently over the last decade we have witnessed a flurry of novel systems designed to protect metadata of users' communications online. However, such systems leverage different assumptions and design choices to achieve their goal; resulting in a scattered view of the desirable properties, potential vulnerabilities, and limitations of existing metadata-protecting communication systems (MPCS). In this work we survey 31 systems targeting metadata-protected communications, and present a unified view of the current state of affairs. We provide two different taxonomies for existing MPCS, first into four different categories by the precise type of metadata protections they offer, and next into six families based on the core techniques that underlie them. By contrasting these systems we identify potential vulnerabilities, as well as subtle privacy implications of design choices of existing MPCS. Furthermore, we identify promising avenues for future research for MPCS, and desirable properties that merit more attention.

Resumen
Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate apparent first‐motion polarities mismatch at teleseismic distances in the determination of focal mechanism. We implement and compare four seismic raytracing algorithms to compute ray paths and travel times in 1D and 3D velocity models. We use the raytracing algorithms to calculate the takeoff angles from the hypocenter of the 24 August 2016 Mw 6.8 Chauk earthquake (depth 90 km) in central Myanmar to the stations BFO, GRFO, KONO, and ESK in Europe using a 3D velocity model of the upper mantle below Asia. The differences in the azimuthal angles calculated in the 1D and 3D velocity models are considerable and have a maximum value of 19.6°. Using the takeoff angles for the 3D velocity model, we are able to resolve an apparent polarity mismatch where these stations move from the dilatational to the compressional quadrant. The polarities of synthetic waveforms change accordingly when we take the takeoff angles corresponding to the 3D model into account. This method has the potential to improve the focal mechanism solutions, especially for historical earthquakes where limited waveform data are available.

Resumen
The Egyptian mongoose (Herpestes ichneumon) is globally assessed as Least Concern, yet within Jordan, it has been classified as Endangered due to its limited extent of occurrence and rapid habitat degradation. Using camera traps, this study was conducted from 01 June 2020 to 28 February 2022 on a private farm in the Sheikh Hussein area along the lower Jordan River. Despite challenges such as dense reed growth, farm activities, and the presence of workers and roaming dogs, we successfully captured photographic evidence of the Egyptian mongoose displaying various social behaviors, including group and solitary sightings. The species exhibited a diurnal activity pattern and coexisted with other carnivores, such as the golden jackal (Canis aureus), jungle cat (Felis chaus), and red fox (Vulpes vulpes). Our data suggest a small local population, potentially comprising the four individuals observed, vulnerable to localized threats like incidental poisoning and habitat changes due to farming. To mitigate these risks, we recommend implementing Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs) as a tool beyond Jordan's national protected area network to achieve effective and sustained long-term in situ biodiversity conservation outcomes in partnership with the military.

Resumen
The aim of this study was to assess the current state of physical education program implementation and the socialization of physical education in high schools in Vietnam. A questionnaire was designed using Google Form, consisting of 15 questions. Questions 1 to 11 were related to the physical education program, while questions 12 to 15 focused on the socialization of physical education. The survey included 345 participants, including education administrators and high school teachers, and was conducted online in Hanoi city and Lai Chau province. The survey employed a rating scale divided into four levels: non-satisfied, partially satisfied, satisfied, and well satisfied. The results indicate that the actual implementation of physical education programs in high schools falls short of the targets set by the 2018 high school education program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. Furthermore, there are significant limitations in terms of socializing physical education activities, as these activities have not had a substantial positive impact on the quality of physical education teaching in high schools.

Resumen
A new species of the genus Lycodon is described based on four specimens collected from the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Dong Chau-Khe Nuoc Trong Nature Reserve, Quang Binh Province, Central Vietnam. Lycodon poyarkovi sp. nov. is superficially similar to L. paucifasciatus Rendahl in Smith, but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters: higher number of ventral scales in males, higher number of subcaudal scales in females, higher number of crossbands on body and tail, by having a lower number of ventral scales before the first crossband starts, and by having lower numbers of vertebrals covered by the first crossband. The new species seems to be endemic to the northern part of Truong Son Mountains, the Ben Hai River, which is considered an important biogeographic barrier between Lycodon poyarkovi sp. nov. and L. paucifasciatus. We suggest that the new species should be considered as Least Concerned (LC) following the IUCN’s Red List categories. Further studies reassessing the taxonomic status of Lycodon anakradaya and L. cardamomensis are required.

Resumen
Abstract The Ul’ya flora comes from the Amka Formation of the Ul’ya Depression, located in the Okhotsk–Chukotka volcanic belt (North-East Russia). This flora includes ~50 species, among which conifers predominate. Ferns and angiosperms are also diverse. The Ul’ya flora is characterized by high endemism and by the presence of numerous Early Cretaceous relicts (Hausmannia, Podozamites, Phoenicopsis, Baiera, Sphenobaiera). Four new endemic species of conifers from the Ul’ya flora are described: Elatocladus amkensis Golovneva, sp. nov., Araucarites sheikashoviae Golovneva, sp. nov., Elatocladus gyrbykensis Golovneva, sp. nov. and Pagiophyllum umitbaevii Golovneva, sp. nov. Two-lobed leaves of Sphenobaiera are assigned to S. biloba Prynada based on their epidermal structure. Because of its systematic composition the Ul’ya flora is correlated with the Coniacian Chaun flora of Central Chukotka, with the Coniacian Aliki flora from the Viliga–Tumany interfluve area, and with the Coniacian Kholchan flora of the Magadan Region. The U-Pb age of zircon (ID-TIMS method) from plant-bearing tuffites within the Amka Formation at the Uenma River is 86.1 ± 0.3 Ma. Thus, Coniacian age (most likely the end of the Coniacian, near the Coniacian/Santonian boundary) is assigned to the Ul’ya flora and plant-bearing pyroclastic deposits of the Amka Formation on the basis of paleobotanical and isotopic data.
