Resumen
The droplet transfer and voltage-current characteristics of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) in single-pulsed GMAW (single GMAW-P), plasma pulsed GMAW (plasma GMAW-P), and plasma-GMAW-P with a magnetic field were studied using the synchronous acquisition system of high-speed camera and electric signals. The results showed the plasma arc and magnetic field had a significant effect on the droplet transfer process. The indirect arc of the plasma and gas metal arc emerged in the pulse peak phase causing a shunt phenomenon of the GMAW current. The period of the indirect arc was increased under the action of the magnetic field. In hybrid plasma GMAW-P, when the GMAW current did not exceed 140 A, several pulsed one-drop free transfers occurred and the droplet transfer period decreased with the increase in the plasma welding current; when the GMAW current exceeded 140 A, and the plasma welding current was less than 180 A, spray transfer was formed. The droplet transfer transformed into a projected transfer when the plasma welding current increased to 180 A. In plasma-GMAW-P hybrid welding with a magnetic field, the magnetic field had a slight effect on the transfer period. When the GMAW current did not exceed 140 A, the droplet transfer was mainly repelled transfer. The detaching location was on the right side of the wire when the magnetic field current was less than 3 A. When the magnetic field current exceeded 3 A, it was below or on the left side of the wire. When the GMAW current exceeded 140 A and the magnetic field current was less than 5 A, spray transfer was formed, but the droplet transfer mode transformed into a projected transfer with a magnetic field current of 5 A.

Resumen
Objective: International reverse transfer students are international students who begin their postsecondary journey at a four-year institution but subsequently transfer to a community college. In this qualitative study, we examine the lived experiences of international reverse transfers to understand the reasons for reverse-transfer and to understand the students’ learning experiences. Methods: Using a phenomenological approach, we recruited 10 international reverse transfer students attending one four-year university or one of the two community colleges. We conducted individual interviews with all participants and analyzed transcript data through Bourdieu’s sociological theory of field, habitus, and social and cultural capital. Results: We identified three types of international reverse transfer students: undergraduate reverse transfers, temporary reverse transfers, and postbaccalaureate reverse transfers. Each type reported different reasons for reverse transfer but shared similar influential factors of the reverse transfer process as well as the learning experiences while enrolled at the community colleges. Contributions: This study helps to fill an information and research gap regarding international reverse transfer students. We present the academic, social, and cultural challenges faced by international students and offer practical implications for higher education practitioners for improved understandings and better processes to serve international students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Resumen
Nanofluids are considered to be a next-generation heat transfer medium due to their excellent thermal performance. To investigate the effect of electric fields and magnetic fields on heat transfer of nanofluids, this paper analyzes the mechanism of thermal conductivity enhancement of nanofluids, the chaotic convection and the heat transfer enhancement of nanofluids in the presence of an applied electric field or magnetic field through the method of literature review. The studies we searched showed that applied electric field and magnetic field can significantly affect the heat transfer performance of nanofluids, although there are still many different opinions about the effect and mechanism of heat transfer. In a word, this review is supposed to be useful for the researchers who want to understand the research state of heat transfer of nanofluids.

Resumen
AbstractIn this thesis, we study transfer principles in the context of certain Henselian valued fields, namely Henselian valued fields of equicharacteristic $0$ , algebraically closed valued fields, algebraically maximal Kaplansky valued fields, and unramified mixed characteristic Henselian valued fields with perfect residue field. First, we compute the burden of such a valued field in terms of the burden of its value group and its residue field. The burden is a cardinal related to the model theoretic complexity and a notion of dimension associated to $\text {NTP}_2$ theories. We show, for instance, that the Hahn field $\mathbb {F}_p^{\text {alg}}((\mathbb {Z}[1/p]))$ is inp-minimal (of burden 1), and that the ring of Witt vectors $W(\mathbb {F}_p^{\text {alg}})$ over $\mathbb {F}_p^{\text {alg}}$ is not strong (of burden $\omega $ ). This result extends previous work by Chernikov and Simon and realizes an important step toward the classification of Henselian valued fields of finite burden. Second, we show a transfer principle for the property that all types realized in a given elementary extension are definable. It can be written as follows: a valued field as above is stably embedded in an elementary extension if and only if its value group is stably embedded in the corresponding extension of value groups, its residue field is stably embedded in the corresponding extension of residue fields, and the extension of valued fields satisfies a certain algebraic condition. We show, for instance, that all types over the power series field $\mathbb {R}((t))$ are definable. Similarly, all types over the quotient field of $W(\mathbb {F}_p^{\text {alg}})$ are definable. This extends previous work of Cubides and Delon and of Cubides and Ye.These distinct results use a common approach, which has been developed recently. It consists of establishing first a reduction to an intermediate structure called the leading term structure, or $\operatorname {\mathrm {RV}}$ -sort, and then of reducing to the value group and residue field. This leads us to develop similar reduction principles in the context of pure short exact sequences of abelian groups.Abstract prepared by Pierre Touchard.E-mail: pierre.pa.touchard@gmail.comURL: https://miami.uni-muenster.de/Record/a612cf73-0a2f-42c4-b1e4-7d28934138a9

Resumen
The article aims at clarifying the classification features of the forms and directions of technology transfer, and analyzing empirical data on technology transfer operations in Ukraine. The effectiveness, efficiency and immediacy of technology transfer depend on the choice of its rational forms and directions of technology transfer. The combined form of transfer is considered to be most promising, as it encompasses the advantages of both the vertical and horizontal transfer forms based on the open innovation business model. Ukraine has prerequisites for the implementation of this form of technology transfer, but it is necessary to increase the innovative activity of industrial enterprises and research organizations, and to increase funding for innovation. In the future the authors plan to suggest an organizational and economic mechanism to increase innovation activity at the enterprise level. In 2007-2019 research and development at industrial enterprises (R&D) accounted for about 15% in the total cost of innovation, in average. The lowest share of R&D in total expenditures on innovation was observed in 2011 (7.5%), and the highest share was observed in 2018, comprising 26.3%. The share of costs for vertical transfer is 69.6-89.5%, which is much higher than that for horizontal transfer, which is 10.5-30.4%. The main reason for the decrease in the level of technology transfer at Ukrainian enterprises is the limited funding from the state and the negative investment climate in the country. The share of non-commercial transfers has been lower than 1% since 2012. Combined transfer based on digital technology platforms is virtually absent.

Resumen
Nonlinear interactions between different scales in turbulence result in both interscale and spatial transport of turbulent energy, and their role in the turbulent heat transfer mechanism is also of practical importance from an engineering viewpoint. In this study, we investigate a turbulent plane Couette flow with passive-scalar heat transfer at the Prandtl number of 0.71 to discuss the similarity/difference between scale interactions in velocity and temperature fields. The constant-temperature-difference boundary condition is used so that the mean velocity and temperature profiles are similar, and then, the roles of interscale and spatial transports are compared for the spectral transport budgets of turbulent energies and temperature-related statistics. We show that turbulent heat transfer occurs at relatively small streamwise length scales compared to momentum transfer, although molecular diffusion is more significant in the temperature field as the Prandtl number is less than 1. Detailed analysis on the transport budgets of temperature-related spectra shows that scale interactions in the temperature field supply more energy to small scales than those in the velocity field. This significant temperature cascade causes more energetic temperature fluctuation at small scales, resulting in the spectral dissimilarity between turbulent heat and momentum transfers.

Resumen
AbstractWe describe a recently developed formulation of coupled conductive and radiative heat transfer (RHT) between objects separated by nanometric, vacuum gaps. Our results rely on analytical formulas of RHT between planar slabs (based on the scattering-matrix method) as well as a general formulation of RHT between arbitrarily shaped bodies (based on the fluctuating–volume current method), which fully captures the existence of temperature inhomogeneities. In particular, the impact of RHT on conduction, and vice versa, is obtained via self-consistent solutions of the Fourier heat equation and Maxwell’s equations. We show that in materials with low thermal conductivities (e.g. zinc oxides and glasses), the interplay of conduction and RHT can strongly modify heat exchange, exemplified for instance by the presence of large temperature gradients and saturating flux rates at short (nanometric) distances. More generally, we show that the ability to tailor the temperature distribution of an object can modify the behaviour of RHT with respect to gap separations, e.g. qualitatively changing the asymptotic scaling at short separations from quadratic to linear or logarithmic. Our results could be relevant to the interpretation of both past and future experimental measurements of RHT at nanometric distances.

Resumen
In his famous paper [1] on the elementary theory of finite fields Ax considered fields K with the property that every absolutely irreducible variety defined over K has K-rational points. These fields have been called pseudo algebraically closed (pac) and also regularly closed, and extensively studied by Jarden, Éršov, Fried, Wheeler and others, culminating with the basic works [8] and [11].The above algebraic-geometric definition of pac fields can be put into the following equivalent model-theoretic version: K is existentially complete (ec) relative to the first order language of fields into each regular field extension of K. It has been this characterization of pac fields which the author extended in [2] to ordered fields. An ordered field (K, <) is called in [2] pseudo real closed (prc) if (K, <) is ec in every ordered field extension (L, <) with L regular over K. The concept of pre ordered field has also been introduced by McKenna in his thesis [15] by analogy with the original algebraic-geometric definition of pac fields.Given a positive integer e, a system K = (K; P1, …, Pe), where K is a field and P1, …, Pe are orders of K (identified with the corresponding positive cones), is called an e-fold ordered field (e-field). In his thesis [9] van den Dries developed a model theory for e-fields. The main result proved in [9, Chapter II] states that the theory e-OF of e-fields is model con. panionable, and the models of the model companion e-OF are explicitly described.

Resumen
The utility of ferroic materials is determined by the formation of domains and their poling behavior under externally applied fields. For multiferroics, which exhibit several types of ferroic order at once, it is also relevant how the domains of the coexisting ferroic states couple and what kind of functionality this might involve. In this work, we demonstrate the reversible transfer of a domain pattern between magnetization and electric-polarization space in the multiferroic Dy 0.7 Tb 0.3 FeO 3 . A magnetic field transfers a ferromagnetic domain pattern into an identical ferroelectric domain pattern while erasing it at its magnetic origin. Reverse transfer completes the cycle. To assess the generality of our experiment, we elaborate on its conceptual origin and aspects of application.

Resumen
Solar-driven hydrothermal pretreatment is an efficient approach for the pretreatment of microalgae biomass for biofuel production. In order to enhance the heat transfer, the magnetic fields effects on flow and heat transfer of nanofluids were investigated in a three-dimensional circular pipe. The magnetic fields were applied in different directions and magnetic field intensities to the flow. In this paper, Finite Volume Method was used to simulate flow and heat transfer of nanofluids under a magnetic field, and the Discrete Phase Model was selected to calculate two-phase flow, which was water mixed with metal nanoparticles. The research was also carried out with the various physical properties of nanoparticles, including the volume share of nanoparticles, particle diameter, and particle types. When the magnetic fields were applied along the X, Y, and Z directions and the intensity of magnetic fields was 0.5 T, the heat transfer coefficients of Cu-H2O nanofluids flow were increased evenly by 9.17%, 10.28%, and 10.32%, respectively. When the magnetic field was applied, the heat transfer coefficients and the Nusselt numbers were both increased with the increment of intensities of the magnetic field.

Resumen
Excitation field synthesis (EFS) refers to the use of an interference optical system in a direct-imaging microscope to improve 3D resolution by axially-selective excitation of fluorescence within a specimen. The excitation field can be thought of as a weighting factor for the point-spread function (PSF) of the microscope, so that the optical transfer function (OTF) gets expanded by convolution with the Fourier transform of the field intensity. The simplest EFS system is the standing-wave fluorescence microscope, in which an axially-periodic excitation field is set up through the specimen by interference of a pair of collimated, coherent, s-polarized beams that enter the specimen from opposite sides at matching angles. In this case, spatial information about the object is recovered in the central OTF passband, plus two symmetric, axially-shifted sidebands. Gaps between these bands represent "lost" information about the 3D structure of the object. Because the sideband shift is equal to the spatial frequency of the standing-wave (SW) field, more complete recovery of information is possible by superposition of fields having different periods. When all of the fields have an antinode at a common plane (set to be coincident with the in-focus plane), the "synthesized" field is peaked in a narrow infocus zone.

Resumen
In the deep well bottom hole environment, there are several different substances in the process of pyrolysis drilling, such as high temperature supercritical jet medium, cooling water and cuttings, which can be considered as submerged non free jet of supercritical fluid in low temperature environment. From the energy point of view, there are heat transfer between supercritical fluid and cooling water, heat transfer between supercritical fluid and bottom rock surface, and heat transfer between up flow and well wall. Due to the complexity of the components, the transfer process of these energies is very complex, which has an important impact on the efficiency of thermal cracking drilling. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the heat transfer law under the condition of bottom hole submergence.

Resumen
Although near-field radiative heat transfer was introduced in the 1950s, interest in the field has only recently revived, as the effect promises improved performance in various applications where contactless temperature regulation in the small-scale is a requirement. With progress in computational electromagnetics as well as in nanoinstrumentation, it has become possible to simulate the effect in complex configurations and to measure it with high precision. In this Perspective, we highlight key theoretical and experimental advances in the field, and we discuss important developments in tailoring and enhancing near-field thermal emission and heat transfer. We discuss opportunities in heat-to-electricity energy conversion with thermophotovoltaic systems, as well as non-reciprocal heat transfer, as two of many recent focus topics in the field. Finally, we highlight key experimental challenges and opportunities with emerging materials, for probing near-field heat transfer for relevant technologies in the large-scale.

Resumen
Characteristics of adaptation fields produced by behavioral changes in saccade size and direction. The gain of saccadic eye movements can be altered gradually by moving targets either forward or backward during targeting saccades. If the gain of saccades to targets of only one size is adapted, the gain change generalizes or transfers only to saccades with similar vectors. In this study, we examined the spatial extent of such saccadic size adaptation, i.e., the gain adaptation field. We also attempted to adapt saccade direction by moving the target orthogonally during the targeting saccade to document the extent of a direction or cross-axis adaptation field. After adaptive gain decreases of horizontal saccades to 15° target steps, >82% of the gain reduction transferred to saccades to 25° horizontal target steps but only ∼30% transferred to saccades to 5° steps. For the horizontal component of oblique saccades to target steps with 15° horizontal components and 10° upward or downward vertical components, the transfer was similar at 51 and 60%, respectively. Thus the gain decrease adaptation field was quite asymmetric in the horizontal dimension but symmetric in the vertical dimension. Although gain increase adaptation produced a smaller gain change (13% increase for a 30% forward adapting target step) than did gain decrease adaptation (20% decrease for a 30% backward adapting target step), the spatial extent of gain transfer was quite similar. In particular, the gain increase adaptation field displayed asymmetry in the horizontal dimension (58% transfer to 25° saccades but only 32% transfer to 5° saccades) and symmetry in the vertical direction (50% transfer to the horizontal component of 10° upward and 40% transfer to 10° downward oblique saccades). When a 5° vertical target movement was made to occur during a saccade to a horizontal 10° target step, a vertical component gradually appeared in saccades to horizontal targets. More than 88% of the cross-axis change in the vertical component produced in 10° saccades transferred to 20° saccades but only 12% transferred to 4° saccades. The transfer was similar to the vertical component of oblique saccades to target steps with either 10° upward (46%) or 10° downward (46%) vertical components. Therefore both gain and cross-axis adaptation fields have similar spatial profiles. These profiles resemble those of movement fields of neurons in the frontal eye fields and superior colliculus. How those structures might participate in the adaptation process is considered in the discussion.

Resumen
Heat transfer mediated by near-field fluctuations of the electromagnetic field was studied. In the case of metals, the latter are dominated by Coulomb interactions between thermal fluctuations of electronic density. It was shown that an elastic scattering of electrons, leading to a diffusive propagation of density fluctuations, results in a qualitative change of the radiation law. While the heat flux between clean metals follows the Stefan–Boltzmann-like T4 dependence, the heat exchange between disordered conductors is significantly enhanced and scales as T3 at low temperatures.

Resumen
In this paper, the field equations of a chameleon field in which the matter Lagrangian term is a general function of the scalar field as well as matter field, are derived. The equations are then expressed in Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) framework and the associated phase portraits and a power law solution are discussed in details. It is shown that why nonminimal coupling between the chameleon and matter fields leads to an energy transfer between the fields, which consequently affects the expansion rate of the universe. The transfer direction is determined by the second law of thermodynamics. The solution indicates that an accelerating expansion of the universe can be described as a result of the energy flow from the chameleon field to matter field.

Resumen
This paper reviews the techniques for optimization switching frequency used in Wireless power transfer (WPT). WPT is one of the most useful ways to transfer power. Based on distances power transfer, the WPT system can be divided into three categories, namely, near, medium, and far fields. Inductive coupling and capacitive coupling contactless techniques are used in the near-field WPT. Magnetic resonant coupling technique is used in the medium-field WPT. Electromagnetic radiation is used in the far-field WPT. From the comparison in this paper, a model and design algorithm to optimize switching frequency for energy encryption of medium field wireless power transfer system are purposed. The maximum value of the performance are suitable to compute the optimal circuit parameter by algorithm itself.

In the present research work, the effects of thermal and induced magnetic fields on the natural convective rotating fluid flow past the vertical cylinder are presented. The numerical solution of the unsteady field variables is obtained by solving the governing non-dimensional non-linear equations. The effects of the Prandtl, Taylor and Chandrasekhar numbers on the induced magnetic field, average momentum and heat transfer coefficients are presented graphically. The field synergy/ coordination principleis discussed to understand the enhancement of convective heat transfer. Increasing values of synergy co–insides with the increasing rate of heat transfer.

Resumen
This article presents a three-dimensional numerical investigation of heat and mass transfers and fluid flow in a cavity filled with an Al2O3/water micropolar fluid under uniform magnetic field. To solve the governing non-dimensional equations, Finite Volume Method (FVM) based on 3-D vorticity-vector potential formulation has been employed. The effects of various parameters such as buoyancy ratio (−2 ≤ N ≤ 0), Rayleigh number (103 ≤ Ra ≤ 105), Hartmann number (0≤ Ha≤ 60), nanoparticles volume fraction (0 ≤ φ ≤ 0.06) and micropolar material parameter (0≤ K≤ 5) on flow structure and on heat and mass transfers are presented. The results illustrate that for the micropolar nanofluid model, both heat and mass transfer rates and three-dimensional character of the flow are smaller when compared with the pure nanofluid model. It is also observed that increase and decrease in heat and mass transfer rates is experienced due to increase in Rayleigh number and Hartmann number, respectively. It is also noted that increase in vortex viscosity parameter reduces the average heat and mass transfer rates and is more evident when the magnetic field is imposed. Combined effects of magnetic field and nanoparticles volume fraction on heat and mass transfers are also explored.

Resumen
This paper examines the European soccer transfer market, which, as the worlds most popular sport, has its unique rules for player trading. The transfers are the most exciting events in the soccer world each year. While most studies focus on a players market value, this paper intends to study the actual transfer amount, which represents the transaction that occurred, rather than an estimated result. In the preparation phase, this study gathered data on the top 25 transfers over the past 14 years (350 transactions in total) in an Excel spreadsheet. The study aims to determine the important substances that contribute to a players transfer fee by constructing several linear multiple regression models using statistical software R Studio. It is concluded that age and in-field performance (goal and assist) are the most related factors for the whole dataset. However, the determining factors will vary depending on a players position. Many of the factors are somewhat counterintuitive and further investigation is required.

Resumen
Radiative (or far-field) energy replenishment for devices such as smartphones, laptops, robots, and small electric appliances paves the way to autonomous and continuous devices functioning, thus bypassing the need of operation interruptions, human maintenance activities, and replenishment by wired transformers. In this work, we investigate the feasibility of using a properly engineered antenna array able to deliver radiative power to devices in need of energy replenishment during their normal and unsupervised activity, whose locations are unknown. Both the case of single and multiple devices needing energy replenishment are addressed. A quantitative proof-of-concept study is carried out to validate the proposed approach. A 3D scenario is simulated to study the case of devices in need of energy replenishment within a standard office environment. Different antenna array configurations are investigated and the corresponding performances benchmarked against a standard installation of recharging antennas. Results confirm the outstanding capability of the proposed approach in terms of confinement and maximization of power transfer. Finally, in this framework, we also propose an efficient communication protocol that is able to manage multiple recharge demand given different operational rules.
