Resumen
Rubber products will be fatigued when subjected to alternating loads, and working in harsh environments will worsen the fatigue performance, which will directly affect the service life of such products. Environmental factors have a great influence on rubber materials, including temperature, humidity, ozone, etc., all of which will affect rubber’s properties and among which temperature is the most important. Different rubber materials have different sensitivity to the environment, and at the same time, their own structures are different, and their bonding degree with fillers is also different, so their fatigue lives are also different. Therefore, there are generally two methods to study the fatigue life of rubber materials, namely the crack initiation method and the crack propagation method. In this paper, the research status of rubber fatigue is summarized from three aspects: research methods of rubber fatigue, factors affecting fatigue life and crack section. The effects of mechanical conditions, rubber composition and environmental factors on rubber fatigue are expounded in detail. The section of rubber fatigue cracking is expounded from macroscopic and microscopic perspectives, and a future development direction is given in order to provide reference for the research and analysis of rubber fatigue and rubber service life maximization.

Resumen
Background: Over 30% of cancer survivors experience chronic fatigue. An alteration in energy metabolism is one of the hypothesized mechanisms for cancer-related fatigue (CRF). No studies have evaluated for changes in metabolic profiles in cancer survivors with CRF. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate for differences in metabolic profiles between fatigued and non-fatigued survivors of colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods: Survivors were recruited from the surgical outpatient department and the oncology clinic of a medical center in northern Taiwan. Fatigue was assessed using the Fatigue Symptom Inventory. Fasting blood samples were collected on the day the fatigue questionnaire was completed. Metabolomic profile analysis was performed using non-targeted, liquid chromatography/time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Fold change analyses, t-tests, and pathway analyses were performed to identify differences in metabolomic profiles between the fatigued and non-fatigued survivors. Results: Of the 56 CRC survivors in this study, 28.6% (n = 16) were in the fatigue group. Statistically significant differences in carnitine, L-norleucine, pyroglutamic acid, pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid, spermine, hydroxyoctanoic acid, and paraxanthine were found between the two fatigue groups. In addition, two pathways were enriched for these metabolites (i.e., glutathione metabolism, D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism). Conclusions: Findings from this pilot study provide preliminary evidence that two pathways that are involved with the regulation of ATP production and cellular energy (i.e., glutathione metabolism, D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism) are associated with fatigue in CRC survivors. If these findings are confirmed, they may provide new therapeutic targets to decrease fatigue in cancer survivors.

A new high-speed infrared video-based fatigue detection system was developed using a system on a programmable chip (SoPC) in this study. Based on the limitations of PERCLOS, we merged the eyes and mouth fatigue related characteristics to improve detection accuracy, used a Difference of Gaussian (DoG) filter and Ada-boosting algorithm to implement driver fatigue detection based on multi-feature fusion. The detection system was produced using FPGA with a parallel processing structure and pipeline technology. This system is innovative and it can detect fatigued states efficiently and rapidly.

Resumen
9070 Background: Postcancer fatigue (PCF) is a frequently occurring problem, impairing quality of life. Patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) also suffer from severe fatigue symptoms. We hypothesized that in fatigued patients (PCF and CFS) alterations in immune response could explain fatigue symptoms. Therefore, we examined whether the humoral and/or cellular immune response after influenza vaccination differed between fatigued patients and non-fatigued individuals and between PCF and CFS patients. Methods: PCF (n=15) and CFS patients (n=22) were vaccinated against influenza. Age and gender matched non-fatigued cancer survivors (n=12) and healthy controls (n=23) were included for comparison. Antibody responses were measured at baseline and at day 21 by a hemagglutination inhibition test. T cell responses were measured at baseline and at day 7 by a lymphocyte proliferation and activation assay. Results: Both patient groups developed seroprotection rates comparable to the accompanying control groups. Functional T cell reactivity was observed in all groups. Proliferation at baseline was significantly lower in fatigued patients compared to non-fatigued individuals. A significant increase in proliferation from baseline to day 7 was observed in fatigued patients, but not in controls. At day 7, proliferation was not significantly different between fatigued patients and non-fatigued individuals. CD4+CD127-FoxP3+ expression was significantly higher in PCF patients compared to non-fatigued cancer survivors. Conclusions: We observed a lower T cell proliferation at baseline in fatigued patients compared to non-fatigued individuals, suggesting a difference in the baseline state of the immune system between fatigued patients and non-fatigued individuals. Furthermore, the difference in CD4+CD127-FoxP3+ expression between PCF and CFS patients suggests subtle differences in immune state between these two fatigued patient groups. However, since humoral and cellular immune responses after vaccination did not differ significantly between fatigued patients and non-fatigued individuals, vaccination of fatigued patients (PCF and CFS) can be effective.

Resumen
PURPOSE: To describe the occurrence of fatigue in a large sample of breast cancer survivors relative to general population norms and to identify demographic, medical, and psychosocial characteristics of fatigued survivors. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Breast cancer survivors in two large metropolitan areas completed standardized questionnaires as part of a survey study, including the RAND 36-item Health Survey, Center for Epidemiological Studies–Depression Scale, Breast Cancer Prevention Trial Symptom Checklist, Medical Outcomes Study Sleep Scale, and demographic and treatment-related measures. RESULTS: On average, the level of fatigue reported by the breast cancer survivors surveyed (N = 1,957) was comparable to that of age-matched women in the general population, although the breast cancer survivors were somewhat more fatigued than a more demographically similar reference group. Approximately one third of the breast cancer survivors assessed reported more severe fatigue, which was associated with significantly higher levels of depression, pain, and sleep disturbance. In addition, fatigued women were more bothered by menopausal symptoms and were somewhat more likely to have received chemotherapy (with or without radiation therapy) than nonfatigued women. In multivariate analyses, depression and pain emerged as the strongest predictors of fatigue. CONCLUSION: Although the majority of breast cancer survivors in this large and diverse sample did not experience heightened levels of fatigue relative to women in the general population, there was a subgroup of survivors who did report more severe and persistent fatigue. We identified characteristics of these women that may be helpful in elucidating the mechanisms underlying fatigue in this population, as well as directing intervention efforts.

Resumen
Purpose Several guidelines on the treatment of cancer-related fatigue recommend optimizing treatment of accompanying symptoms. However, evidence for this recommendation from randomized clinical trials is lacking. We investigated whether monitoring and protocolized treatment of physical symptoms alleviates fatigue. Patients and Methods In all, 152 fatigued patients with advanced cancer were randomly assigned to protocolized patient-tailored treatment (PPT) of symptoms or care as usual. The PPT group had four appointments with a nurse who assessed nine symptoms on a 0 to 10 numeric rating scale (NRS). Patients received a nonpharmacologic intervention for symptoms with a score ≥ 1 and a medical intervention for symptoms with a score ≥ 4. Fatigue dimensions, fatigue NRS score, interference of fatigue with daily life, symptom burden, quality of life, anxiety, and depression were measured at baseline and after 1, 2, and 3 months. Differences between the groups over time were assessed by using mixed modeling. Results Seventy-six patients were randomly assigned to each study arm. Mean age was 58 ± 10 years, 57% were female, and 65% were given palliative chemotherapy. We found significant improvements over time in favor of PPT for the primary outcome general fatigue (P = .01), with significant group differences at month 1 (effect size, 0.26; P = .007) and month 2 (effect size, 0.35; P = .005). Improvements in favor of PPT were also found for the following secondary outcomes: fatigue dimensions “reduced activity” and “reduced motivation,” fatigue NRS, symptom burden, interference of fatigue with daily life, and anxiety (all P ≤ .03). Conclusion In fatigued patients with advanced cancer, nurse-led monitoring and protocolized treatment of physical symptoms is effective in alleviating fatigue.

Resumen
This investigation addresses the interaction mechanisms of time dependent material behavior and cyclic damage during fatigue loading of fiber reinforced composite laminates. A new term 'damorheology' has been coined to describe such physical behavior. The lamina has been chosen as the building block and a cross ply laminate configuration was the selected test case. The chosen material system is the Radel X/T65-42 thermoplastic composite by Amoco. The fatigue performance at the lamina level is represented by the dynamic stiffness, residual strength and fatigue life of unidirectional laminates. The time dependent behavior is represented at the lamina level by a Pseudo-Analog Mechanical model. The thermo-rheological characterization procedure combines mechanical (creep) and thermal (dynamic mechanical analysis) techniques.

In this thesis, the author has drawn on a large body of international research and his own surveys, interviews and experience to examine the interrelated issues of Fatigue and Stress in the long distance sector of the Australian road transport industry. Two major Australian studies are studied in some detail: House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications, Transport and the Arts: Beyond the Midnight Oil, Report into an Inquiry into Managing Fatigue in Transport, Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia October 2000 (The Neville Report) and Quinlan, Michael, Report of an Inquiry into Safety in the Long Haul Sector of the Road Trucking Industry, Motor Accident Authority of NSW, Nov 2001 and the United States of America: Belzer, Michael H., Sweatshop on Wheels: Winners and Losers in Trucking Deregulation, Oxford University Press, New York, 2000, has direct relevance to this study, especially as it relates to the underlying causes of much of the fatigue and stress suffered by long distance drivers. An extensive literature review was undertaken to help form an understanding of the issues and developments relating to workplace fatigue and stress, in several different settings, including the military, aviation and general industry. The author has surveyed a number of long distance drivers and interviewed managers and others linked to this industry, analysed their responses and reported on the findings. Since the commencement of this study, several significant changes have occurred in the relevant legislation and its application, and where possible these have been incorporated into the study

De, Gray Birch Casey. "The effects of sustained attention, workload and task-related fatigue on physiological measures and performance during a tracking task". Thesis, Rhodes University, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/10962/d1005198.

Texto completo
Resumen
Despite extensive research into the concept of mental fatigue there is as yet no “gold standard” definition or measurement technique available. Because of this a large amount of fatigue-related errors are still seen in the workplace. The complexity of the problem lies with the inability to directly measure mental processes as well as the various endogenous and exogenous factors that interact to produce the experienced fatigue. Fatigue has been divided into sleep-related and task-related fatigue; however the task-related aspect is evident both during normal waking hours as well as during periods of sleep deprivation, therefore this aspect is considered important in the understanding of fatigue in general. The concept of task-related fatigue has further been divided into active and passive fatigue states; however differentiation between the two requires careful consideration. Various physiological measures have been employed in an attempt to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in the generation of fatigue, however often studies have produced dissociating results. The current study considered the task-related fatigue elicited by a tracking task requiring sustained attention, in order to evaluate the usefulness of various cardiovascular and oculomotor measures as indicators of fatigue. A secondary aim was to determine whether the behavioural and physiological parameter responses could be used to infer the type of fatigue incurred (i.e. an active versus passive fatigue state) as well as the energetical mechanisms involved during task performance. A simple driving simulator task was used as the main tracking task, requiring constant attention and concentration. This task was performed for approximately two hours. Three experimental groups (consisting of 14 subjects each) were used: a control group that performed the tracking task only, a group that performed a five minute auditory memory span task concurrently with the driving task after every 20 minutes of pure driving, and a group that performed a visual choice reaction task for five minutes following every 20 minute driving period. The secondary tasks were employed in order to evaluate the extent of resource allocation as well as arousal level. Performance measures included various driving performance parameters, as well as secondary task performance. Physiological measures included heart rate frequency (HR) and various time- and frequency-domain heart rate variability (HRV)parameters, pupil dilation, blink frequency and duration, fixations, and saccadic parameters as well as critical flicker fusion frequency (CFFF). The Borg CR-10 scale was used to evaluate subjective fatigue during the task, and the NASA-TLX was completed following the task. A decline in driving performance over time was supplemented by measures such as HR, HRV and pupil dilation indicating an increase in parasympathetic activity (or a reduction in arousal). An increase in blink frequency was considered as a sign of withdrawal of attentional resources over time. Longer and faster saccades were also evident over time, coupled with shorter fixations. With regards to the secondary task influence, the choice RT task did not affect any behavioural or physiological parameters, thereby contesting the active fatigue theory of resource depletion, as well as implying that the increase in demand for the same resources used by the primary task was insufficient to affect the state of the subjects. The increased load elicited by the memory span task improved driving performance and increased measures of HR, HRV, pupil dilation and blink frequency. Some of these measures produced opposite effects to what was expected; an attempt to explain the dissociation of the various physiological parameters was expressed in terms of arousal, effort and resource theories. Overall, the results indicate that the fatigue and/or reduced arousal accompanying a monotonous sustained attention task can, to some degree, be alleviated through intermittent performance of a secondary task engaging mental resources other than the ones used for the primary task. The degree to which such a task is beneficial, however, requires careful consideration as while an immediate increase in arousal and primary task performance is noted, the impact of the task on general attentional resources may be detrimental in the case of reacting should an emergency situation occur.

Resumen
Review question / Objective: To identify and list the risk factors associated with the onset and progression of ALS. Condition being studied: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the upper and lower motor neurons in the spinal bulb, cerebral cortex, and spinal cord. The clinical processing symptoms accompany muscle atrophy, fasciculation, and fatigue of limbs, which can lead to general paralysis and death from respiratory failure within 3-5 years after the onset of this disease. Though the pathogenesis of ALS is still unclear, exploring the associations between risk factors and ALS can provide reliable evidence to find the pathogenesis in the future. This meta-analysis aims to synthesize all related risk factors on ALS, comprehensively understand this disease, and provide clues to mechanism research and clinicians.

Resumen
In this research work, we develop a drowsy driver detection system through the application of visual and radar sensors combined with machine learning. The system concept was derived from the desire to achieve a high level of driver safety through the prevention of potentially fatal accidents involving drowsy drivers. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drowsy driving resulted in 50,000 injuries across 91,000 police-reported accidents, and a death toll of nearly 800 in 2017. The objective of this research work is to provide a working prototype of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that can be installed in present-day vehicles. By integrating two modes of visual surveillance to examine a biometric expression of drowsiness, a camera and a micro-Doppler radar sensor, our system offers high reliability over 95% in the accuracy of its drowsy driver detection capabilities. The camera is used to monitor the driver’s eyes, mouth and head movement and recognize when a discrepancy occurs in the driver's blinking pattern, yawning incidence, and/or head drop, thereby signaling that the driver may be experiencing fatigue or drowsiness. The micro-Doppler sensor allows the driver's head movement to be captured both during the day and at night. Through data fusion and deep learning, the ability to quickly analyze and classify a driver's behavior under various conditions such as lighting, pose-variation, and facial expression in a real-time monitoring system is achieved.

Pulugurtha, Srinivas S., Sarvani Duvvuri y Sonu Mathew. Risk Factors Associated with Crash Injury Severity Involving Trucks. Mineta Transportation Institute, junio de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.31979/mti.2022.2117.

Texto completo
Resumen
Nearly 499,000 motor vehicle crashes involving trucks were reported across the United States in 2018, out of which 22% resulted in fatalities and injuries. Given the growing economy and demand for trucking in the future, it is crucial to identify the risk factors to understand where, when, and why the likelihood of getting involved in a severe or moderate injury crash with a truck is higher. This research, therefore, focuses on capturing and exploring risk factors associated with surrounding land use and demographic characteristics in addition to crash, driver, and on-network characteristics by modeling injury severity of crashes involving trucks. Crash data for Mecklenburg County in North Carolina from 2013 to 2017 was used to develop partial proportionality odds model and identify risk factors influencing injury severity of crashes involving trucks. The findings from this research indicate that dark lighting condition, inclement weather condition, the presence of double yellow or no-passing zone, road sections with speed limit >40 mph and curves, and driver fatigue, impairment, and inattention have a significant influence on injury severity of crashes involving trucks. These outcomes indicate the need for effective geometric design and improved visibility to reduce the injury severity of crashes involving trucks. The likelihood of getting involved in a crash with a truck is also high in areas with high employment, government, light commercial, and light industrial land uses. The findings can be used to proactively plan and prioritize the allocation of resources to improve safety of transportation system users in these areas.

Penman, Olivia, Andrew Sheridan, Nic Badcock, Georgia Horsburgh y Carmela Pestell. Could local sleep explain the occurrence of attentional lapses in primary school-aged children? A scoping review protocol. INPLASY - International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols, diciembre de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.37766/inplasy2022.12.0074.

Texto completo
Resumen
Review question / Objective: The current review aims to describe the literature on the relationship between local sleep and attentional lapses in neurotypical children or children with ADHD and how this can be applied to inform our understanding of poor attention under conditions of low arousal and increased sleep pressure. The main/primary question is, what is known from the existing literature about the relationship between local sleep and attentional lapses in children? In answering this primary question, we also want to know under what conditions is local sleep occurring? For example, does local sleep occur more frequently with increased fatigue? Eligibility criteria: All papers identified must meet the following criteria for inclusion: the population is neurotypical children and children with ADHD aged between 6 and 12 years of age, published in English, full text available (where full-text is not available, authors will be contacted to request a copy of the paper). All time frames, types of sources (e.g. qualitative or quantitative research studies), geographic locations, cultural and sociodemographic contexts will be included. Review papers (i.e. systematic reviews, meta-analyses), papers with animal studies and clinical cohorts other than ADHD (e.g. autism, sleep disorders, acquired brain injuries etc.) will be excluded. As local sleep is defined as occurring during wakefulness, studies with participants who are asleep will also be excluded.

Al-Qadi, Imad, Jaime Hernandez, Angeli Jayme, Mojtaba Ziyadi, Erman Gungor, Seunggu Kang, John Harvey et al. The Impact of Wide-Base Tires on Pavement—A National Study. Illinois Center for Transportation, octubre de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36501/0197-9191/21-035.

Texto completo
Resumen
Researchers have been studying wide-base tires for over two decades, but no evidence has been provided regarding the net benefit of this tire technology. In this study, a comprehensive approach is used to compare new-generation wide-base tires (NG-WBT) with the dual-tire assembly (DTA). Numerical modeling, prediction methods, experimental measurements, and environmental impact assessment were combined to provide recommendations about the use of NG-WBT. A finite element approach, considering variables usually omitted in the conventional analysis of flexible pavement was utilized for modeling. Five hundred seventy-six cases combining layer thickness, material properties, tire load, tire inflation pressure, and pavement type (thick and thin) were analyzed to obtained critical pavement responses. A prediction tool, known as ICT-Wide, was developed based on artificial neural networks to obtain critical pavement responses in cases outside the finite element analysis matrix. The environmental impacts were determined using life cycle assessment. Based on the bottom-up fatigue cracking, permanent deformation, and international roughness index, the life cycle energy consumption, cost, and green-house gas (GHG) emissions were estimated. To make the outcome of this research effort useful for state departments of transportation and practitioners, a modification to AASHTOWare is proposed to account for NG-WBT. The revision is based on two adjustment factors, one accounting for the discrepancy between the AASHTOware approach and the finite element model of this study, and the other addressing the impact of NG-WBT.

Lippert, David, Marshall Thompson y Charles Wienrank. Performance of Interstate Rubblization in Illinois. Illinois Center for Transportation, julio de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36501/0197-9191/21-005.

Texto completo
Resumen
In Illinois, hot-mix asphalt overlaid concrete pavements typically exhibit reflective cracking of joints and cracks from the pavement below, resulting in shortened life and maintenance issues. Over the years, various patching, fabric, and crack and seat techniques were attempted with few positive results. This led to more aggressive techniques to eliminate the slab action of the concrete pavement where the pavement would be broken or rubblized into pieces typically less than 12 inches. Since the first rubblizing project in 1990, policy, procedures, and specifications have evolved to the point that rubblization is the mainstream option in dealing with problematic concrete pavements. This report summarizes the performance of several interstate rubblizing projects in Illinois by analyzing available data in Illinois Department of Transportation’s pavement management system. Condition rating survey data allowed the serviceability of these projects to be evaluated by surface mix types and asphalt performance grades. Traffic in the form of 18,000 lb equivalent single axle loads was determined for the projects to evaluate fatigue and rutting as well as compare section performance to the design procedure. The research team reviewed plans, design procedures, and specifications to determine best practices and identify where improvements might be made. Data showed that the use of stone matrix asphalt surface mixtures and mixes using PGXX-28 asphalt binders provides improved performance. Overall, rubblizing has shown good to excellent performance. To provide additional life with improved performance, recommendations include adopting softer asphalt grades, increasing the use of stone matrix asphalt, and improving procedures for protecting culverts.

Garsa, Adam, Julie K. Jang, Sangita Baxi, Christine Chen, Olamigoke Akinniranye, Owen Hall, Jody Larkin, Aneesa Motala, Sydne Newberry y Susanne Hempel. Radiation Therapy for Brain Metasases. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), junio de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.23970/ahrqepccer242.

Texto completo
Resumen
Objective. This evidence report synthesizes the available evidence on radiation therapy for brain metastases. Data sources. We searched PubMed®, Embase®, Web of Science, Scopus, CINAHL®, clinicaltrials.gov, and published guidelines in July 2020; assessed independently submitted data; consulted with experts; and contacted authors. Review methods. The protocol was informed by Key Informants. The systematic review was supported by a Technical Expert Panel and is registered in PROSPERO (CRD42020168260). Two reviewers independently screened citations; data were abstracted by one reviewer and checked by an experienced reviewer. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and large observational studies (for safety assessments), evaluating whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) alone or in combination, as initial or postoperative treatment, with or without systemic therapy for adults with brain metastases due to non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, or melanoma. Results. In total, 97 studies, reported in 190 publications, were identified, but the number of analyses was limited due to different intervention and comparator combinations as well as insufficient reporting of outcome data. Risk of bias varied; 25 trials were terminated early, predominantly due to poor accrual. Most studies evaluated WBRT, alone or in combination with SRS, as initial treatment; 10 RCTs reported on post-surgical interventions. The combination treatment SRS plus WBRT compared to SRS alone or WBRT alone showed no statistically significant difference in overall survival (hazard ratio [HR], 1.09; confidence interval [CI], 0.69 to 1.73; 4 RCTs; low strength of evidence [SoE]) or death due to brain metastases (relative risk [RR], 0.93; CI, 0.48 to 1.81; 3 RCTs; low SoE). Radiation therapy after surgery did not improve overall survival compared with surgery alone (HR, 0.98; CI, 0.76 to 1.26; 5 RCTs; moderate SoE). Data for quality of life, functional status, and cognitive effects were insufficient to determine effects of WBRT, SRS, or post-surgical interventions. We did not find systematic differences across interventions in serious adverse events radiation necrosis, fatigue, or seizures (all low or moderate SoE). WBRT plus systemic therapy (RR, 1.44; CI, 1.03 to 2.00; 14 studies; moderate SoE) was associated with increased risks for vomiting compared to WBRT alone. Conclusion. Despite the substantial research literature on radiation therapy, comparative effectiveness information is limited. There is a need for more data on patient-relevant outcomes such as quality of life, functional status, and cognitive effects.

RESEARCH PROGRESS ON FATIGUE PROPERTIES OF THE HIGHPERFORMANCE STEEL AND CONNECTION FORMS. The Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction, agosto de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.18057/icass2020.p.196.

Texto completo
Resumen
This paper reviews the current research status of fatigue performance of high-strength steels, introduces the basic theory of fatigue life and current design methods, the fatigue test data of a large number of high-strength steels are statistically collected, and the fatigue properties of high-strength steel base material and different connection structures are analyzed and evaluated. The research results show that high-strength steels with yield strength greater than 420MPa show better fatigue resistance, and the fatigue strength is significantly higher than the calculated value. The design curve of the code is conservative, which underestimates the fatigue resistance of the steel. The fatigue strength of the highstrength steel weld joints is increased by a small margin, and it is in good agreement with the AISC360 and EC3 code curves. Due to the influence of welding quality and welding process, the data is more discrete and requires more test data to support. Fatigue strength of bolted connections is affected by many factors such as bolt preload, friction surface treatment process, and hole formation methods. Studies have shown that AISC360 and BS7608 design curves are suitable for fatigue life analysis of Q460 bolted connections, and for fatigue performance calculations for Q690 steel bolted connections, the normative approach is conservative. With the increasing application of high-strength steels, the current code needs to be supplemented with the latest research results and engineering experience of new materials in a timely manner.
