Resumen
The goal of this paper is to study the multiplicity of positive solutions of a class of quasilinear elliptic equations. Based on the mountain pass theorems and sub-and supersolutions argument for p-Laplacian operators, under suitable conditions on nonlinearity f(x, s), we show the follwing problem: , where Ω is a bounded open subset of RN, N ≥ 2, with smooth boundary, λ is a positive parameter and ∆p is the p-Laplacian operator with p > 1, possesses at least two positive solutions for large λ.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to establish the existence of multiple solutions for a perturbed Kirchhoff-type problem depending on two real parameters. More precisely, we show that an appropriate oscillating behaviour of the nonlinear part, even under small perturbations, ensures the existence of at least three nontrivial weak solutions. Our approach combines variational methods with properties of nonlocal fractional operators.

Resumen
AbstractIn this paper we study nonlinear elliptic problems of Neumann type driven by the p-Laplacian differential operator. We look for situations guaranteeing the existence of multiple solutions. First we study problems which are strongly resonant at infinity at the first (zero) eigenvalue. We prove five multiplicity results, four for problems with nonsmooth potential and one for problems with a C1-potential. In the last part, for nonsmooth problems in which the potential eventually exhibits a strict super-p-growth under a symmetry condition, we prove the existence of infinitely many pairs of nontrivial solutions. Our approach is variational based on the critical point theory for nonsmooth functionals. Also we present some results concerning the first two elements of the spectrum of the negative p-Laplacian with Neumann boundary condition.

Resumen
In this thesis several problems are addressed. The problems considered vary from second order problems up to high order problems where generaliza- tions to nth order are studied. Such problems range from problems without functional dependence up to problems where the functional dependence is featured both in the equation and on the boundary conditions. Functional boundary conditions include most of the classical conditions as multipoint cases, conditions with delay and/or advances, nonlocal or in- tegral, with maximum or minimum arguments,... Existence, nonexistence, multiplicity and localization results are then discussed in accordance with these conditions. The method used is the lower and upper solutions combined with di¤erent techniques (degree theory, Nagumo condition, iterative technique, Green s function) to obtain such results. Several applications are studied such as the periodic oscillations of the axis of a satellite and conjugate boundary value problems, to emphasize the applicability of the method used; RESUMO:Nesta tese, intitulada em português, Resultados de existência, localiza- ção e multiplicidade para problemas não lineares e funcionais de ordem su- perior com valores na fronteira , diferentes problemas são abordados. Resumen
Coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations (CNLS) govern many physical phenomena, such as nonlinear optics and Bose-Einstein condensates. For their wide applications, many studies have been carried out by physicists, mathematicians and engineers from different respects. In this dissertation, we focused on standing wave solutions, which are of particular interests for their relatively simple form and the important roles they play in studying other wave solutions. We studied the multiplicity of this type of solutions of CNLS via variational methods and bifurcation methods. Variational methods are useful tools for studying differential equations and systems of differential equations that possess the so-called variational structure. For such an equation or system, a weak solution can be found through finding the critical point of a corresponding energy functional. If this equation or system is also invariant under a certain symmetric group, multiple solutions are often expected. In this work, an integer-valued function that measures symmetries of CNLS was used to determine critical values. Besides variational methods, bifurcation methods may also be used to find solutions of a differential equation or system, if some trivial solution branch exists and the system is degenerate somewhere on this branch. If local bifurcations exist, then new solutions can be found in a neighborhood of each bifurcation point. If global bifurcation branches exist, then there is a continuous solution branch emanating from each bifurcation point. We consider two types of CNLS. First, for a fully symmetric system, we introduce a new index and use it to construct a sequence of critical energy levels. Using variational methods and the symmetric structure, we prove that there is at least one solution on each one of these critical energy levels. Second, we study the bifurcation phenomena of a two-equation asymmetric system. All these bifurcations take place with respect to a positive solution branch that is already known. The locations of the bifurcation points are determined through an equation of a coupling parameter. A few nonexistence results of positive solutions are also given

Resumen
Doutoramento conjunto em Matemática - Matemática e Aplicações (PDMA)
In this thesis, we study the existence and multiplicity of solutions of the following class of Schr odinger-Poisson systems: 􀀀 u + u + l(x) u = (x; u) in R3; 􀀀 = l(x)u2 in R3; where l 2 L2(R3) or l 2 L1(R3). And we consider that the nonlinearity satis es the following three kinds of cases: (i) a subcritical exponent with (x; u) = k(x)jujp􀀀2u + h(x)u (4 p < 2 ) under an inde nite case; (ii) a general inde nite nonlinearity with (x; u) = k(x)g(u) + h(x)u; (iii) a critical growth exponent with (x; u) = k(x)juj2 􀀀2u + h(x)jujq􀀀2u (2 q < 2 ). It is worth mentioning that the thesis contains three main innovations except overcoming several di culties, which are generated by the systems themselves. First, as an unknown referee said in his report, we are the rst authors concerning the existence of multiple positive solutions for Schr odinger- Poisson systems with an inde nite nonlinearity. Second, we nd an interesting phenomenon in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 that we do not need the condition R R3 k(x)ep 1dx < 0 with an inde nite noncoercive case, where e1 is the rst eigenfunction of 􀀀 +id in H1(R3) with weight function h. A similar condition has been shown to be a su cient and necessary condition to the existence of positive solutions for semilinear elliptic equations with inde nite nonlinearity for a bounded domain (see e.g. Alama-Tarantello, Calc. Var. PDE 1 (1993), 439{475), or to be a su cient condition to the existence of positive solutions for semilinear elliptic equations with inde nite nonlinearity in RN (see e.g. Costa-Tehrani, Calc. Var. PDE 13 (2001), 159{189). Moreover, the process used in this case can be applied to study other aspects of the Schr odinger-Poisson systems and it gives a way to study the Kirchho system and quasilinear Schr odinger system. Finally, to get sign changing solutions in Chapter 5, we follow the spirit of Hirano-Shioji, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 137 (2007), 333, but the procedure is simpler than that they have proposed in their paper.

This dissertation study mainly three elliptical problems: (I) a class of equations, which involves the Laplacian operator, a singular term and a nonlinearity with the critical Sobolev exponent, (II) a class of equations with double singularity, the critical Hardy-Sobolev exponent and a concave term and (III) a class of equations in divergent form, which involves a singular term, a Leray-Lions operator, and a function defined on Lorentz spaces. The nonlinearities considered in problems (I) and (II), bring additional difficulties which, as the strong singularity at zero (so blow-up may occur) and the lack of compactness due to the presence of a Sobolev critical exponent (problem (I)) and a Hardy-Sobolev critical exponent (problem (II)). In problem (III), the singularity implies that the standard definition of weak solution may not make sense. Therefore is necessary to introduce a special notion of weak solution on open subsets of the domain. Variational methods and Critical Point Theory techniques are used to prove the existence of solutions in the two first problems. In problem (I), our method combines Nehari's techniques, Ekeland's variational principle, minimax methods, a translation argument and integral estimates of the energy level. In this case, we prove the existence of (at least) four nontrivial solutions where at least one of them is sign-changing. In problem (II), we prove the existence of at least two positive solutions and a pair of sign-changing solutions, using the concentration-compactness method and the mountain pass theorem. The approach in problem (III) combines a surjectivity result for monotone, coercive and radially continuous operators with special properties of Leray-Lions operators. We prove the existence of at least one solution in a Lorentz space and obtain an estimative for the solution.

Resumen
We investigate the existences and qualitative properties of periodic solutions of the following two classes of nonlinear differential equations: I) (Special) Relativistic Pendulum Equations (RPEs); II) (2-coupled) Gross-Pitaevskii Equations (GPEs). The pendulum equation describes the motion of a pendulum. According to Special Relativity, which was published by A. Einstein in 1905, causality is more fundamental than constant time-space, thus time will ow slower and space will distort to keep causality if the speed of motion is near the speed of light. In such high speed situations, the pendulum equation needs to be revised due to Special Relativity. The revised equation is called RPE. Our result answers some open questions about the existence of multiple periodic solutions for RPEs. GPEs are sometimes called coupled nonlinear schrodinger equations. the Schrodinger equation is the fundamental equation of Quantum Mechanics which is the \exotic" probabilistic fundamental physics law of the \micro" world { the world of atoms and molecules. A well-known physicist and Nobel laureate, R. Feynman, said \I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics." which indicates the physical/ philosophical difficulty of interpretations. It raises paradoxical problems such the well-known Schrodinger's Cat. Setting aside these difficult, if we combine Special Relativity and Quantum Mechanics as a many-body system, then we have Quantum Field Theory (QFT) which is more deterministic, and governs even elementary particle physics. GPEs are also related to QFT. For example, superconductivity and Bose Einstein Condensates (BEC). These phenomena in condensed matter physics can be thought of as the emergence of the mysterious micro world physics at \macro" level. We study these equations from the viewpoint of mathematical interest. It is generally difficult to solve nonlinear differential equations. It is also generally difficult even to prove the existence of solutions. Although we show there exist solutions, we still do not know how to solve the differential equations analytically. Variational Methods (or Calculus of Variations) are useful tools to show there exist solutions of differential equations. The idea is to convert the problem of solving equations into the problem of finding critical points (i.e. minimum/maximum points or saddle points) of a functional, and each critical point can generally correspond to a weak solution. However, it is also generally difficult to find out such critical points because we look for critical points in an infinite-dimensional functions space. Thus many advanced mathematical theories or tools have been developed and used for decades in nonlinear analysis. We use some topological theories. From information of the functional's shape, these theories deduce if there exists a critical point, or how many critical points exist. The key of these theories is to use the symmetry of the equations. We also investigate bifurcation structures for II), i.e. the connection structures between the solutions. By linearizations which look at the equations \locally," we reduce the problem in the infinite dimension to one in a finite dimension. Furthermore, it allows us to apply Morse Theory, which connects between local and global aspects of the functional's information. In several cases, we show that there are infinitely many bifurcation points that give rise to global bifurcation branches.

Springer-Berlag, Berlin, 2005
The shape optimization problems naturally appear in engineering and biology. They aim to answer questions as:-What a perfect wing may look like?-How to minimize the resistance of a moving object in a gas or a fluid?-How to build a rod of maximal rigidity?-What is the behaviour of a system of cells? The shape optimization appears also in physics, mainly in electrodynamics and in the systems presenting both classical and quantum mechanics behaviour. For explicit examples and furtheraccount on the applications of the shape optimization we refer to the books [20] and [69]. Here we deal with the theoretical mathematical aspects of the shape optimization, concerning existence of optimal sets and their regularity. In all the practical situations above, the shape of the object in study is determined by a functional depending on the solution of a given partial differential equation. We will sometimes refer to this function as a state function. The simplest state functions are provided by solutions of the equations−∆w = 1 and −∆u = λu,which usually represent the torsion rigidity and the oscillation modes of a given object. Thus our study will be concentrated mainly on the situations, in which these state functions appear,i.e. when the optimality is intended with respect to energy and spectral functionals. [20] D. Resumen
This paper aims to reveal the multidimensionality of human being-in-the-world within the human existence analytics and to show that human existence is reflexively correlated with the Other. The key question is how the subject ontologically lives and at the same time existentially experiences his relations to the world. The distinction between be-living and living through human’s being-in-the-world is substantiated as the principle of onto-phenomenological differentiation. Within the irreducible multiplicity of human relations to the world four modes of human experience are formed: the transcendent, the symbolic, the objective and the sensual ones. Ultimately, it is shown that the key to understanding the human existence is the highest form of its correlation with the Other: the ethical relation. Thus, the universal for the world philosophy understanding of man as ethical and, as such, reasonable being is expounded. The paper can be of interest to anyone who is concerned with the problem of man and who is familiar with some basic philosophical approaches to it.

Resumen
The monograph is devoted to the uniqueness and universality of our being, earthly life, complexity, primarily multicellular organisms, intelligence and civilization. Despite the fact that all these phenomena are presented to us and in our person in the singular, their very existence indicates that, on the one hand, they obey the logic that runs through them all, and on the other hand, they observe certain universal rules for the implementation of something like this. That is, they are unique in their local representation, but they are constructed according to a template that applies to all such cases. The monograph consistently examines the multiplicity of hypostases of these realities and formulates the conclusion that, no matter how many of them there are, they must all fit into the mainstream of two principles — the embodied and the functional. Local conditions determine their final appearance, but the imperatives are the same for them all, and therefore these epithets do not contradict each other, but, on the contrary, are mutually complementary. It is intended both for specialists in the field of epistemology, ontology and philosophy of life, and for the general public interested in real issues.

The monograph is devoted to the application of methods of functional analysis to the problems of qualitative theory of differential equations. Describes an algorithm to bring the differential boundary value problem to an operator equation. The research of solutions to operator equations of special kind in the spaces polutoratonny with a cone, where the limitations of the elements of these spaces is understood as the comparability them with a fixed scale element of exponential type. Found representations of the solutions of operator equations in the form of contour integrals, theorems of existence and uniqueness of such solutions. The spectral criteria for boundedness of solutions of operator equations and, as a consequence, sufficient spectral features boundedness of solutions of differential and differential-difference equations in Banach space. The results obtained for operator equations with operators and work of Volterra operators, allowed to extend to some systems of partial differential equations known spectral stability criteria for solutions of A. Resumen
The monograph presents the psychological theory and organization of personalized learning in general education schools. The concept of integrative subjectivity of a person as a form of reflexive and areflexive self-existence is considered as the psychological basis of personalized learning. The author characterizes the personality and the social individual in the light of the humanitarian Christian paradigm: reveals the phenomenology of integrative subjectivity, its structural organization, levels and forms of development of the individual and the social individual. From the standpoint of the Christian psychology of education, the general psychological and socio-psychological aspects of personalized learning are revealed, the psychological typification of students and teachers is justified, the extraordinary pedagogical interaction as a psychological mechanism of personalized learning is presented, the experimental construction of psychological types of primary school students based on the perception of educational material, as well as the typological features of teachers. Technologies of personalized learning are presented. The monograph reflects the results of many years of theoretical and experimental research of the author. It is of interest to seminarians, students, postgraduates of Orthodox educational institutions, students of Higher theological courses, faculties of advanced training and retraining, as well as philosophers, psychologists, teachers, social workers, and specialists in the field of education.

Resumen
The possibilities of increasing the probability of timely service and reducing the average waiting time for requests for machine-to-machine exchange in distributed computer systems are investigated. Improving the reliability, timeliness and error-free transmission in automated distributed control systems focused on intelligent and cognitive methods of data and image analysis is fundamental in their real-time operation. The effect is achieved as a result of the reserved multipath transfers of packets critical to delays, at which their replication is provided with a task for each replica of the path (route) of sequential passage of network nodes. An analytical model is proposed for estimating the probability of timely delivery and the average total waiting time in the queues of route nodes with reserved and non-reserved packet transmission. The communication nodes that make up the data transmission route are represented by single-channel queuing systems with an infinite queue. The influence of the multiplicity of redundancy (replication) of transmissions on the probability of their timely maintenance is analyzed. The condition for the success of reserved transfers is that the accumulated total waiting in the queues of nodes that make up the path for at least one of the replicas of the packet should not exceed the given maximum allowed time. The efficiency of destroying expired packets in the intermediate nodes that make up the data transmission paths is shown. The existence of an optimal redundancy multiplicity critical to the total delay in the queues of packets is shown.

Resumen
A number of practical structures such as compliant offshore towers can be physically modeled, as a first approximation, as an inverted pendulum. The nonlinear dynamics of such model can present some complex features due to the nonlinear coupling among its degrees-of-freedom. In this paper a model of a spatial inverted pendulum restrained by three inclined extensional springs is adopted. Geometric imperfections are considered, and the solutions for both perfect and imperfect systems are presented herein. Especial attention is given to the determination of the nonlinear vibration modes. Non-similar and similar NNMs are obtained analytically by direct application of asymptotic methods and the results show important NNM features such as instability and multiplicity of modes. Poincare´ maps of the conservative system are used to identify the existence of modes that do not have a linear counterpart. Analytical approximations are derived for these nonlinear modes by the use of a two-dimensional polynomial fitting procedure obtained by the application of the Levenberg-Marquardt method. The points coordinates used in the fitting procedure were obtained through numerical integration of the governing equations of motion. Such analytical expressions can then be used in modal reduction, parametric analysis and in the derivation of important features of the system such as its frequency-amplitude relations and resonance curves.

Resumen
Abstract A oilfield, located in Iraq, is a large multi-layer oil field dominated by carbonate reservoirs of cretaceous Mishrif formation and Tertiary Asmari Formation. A oilfield is located in the transition zone between Zagros orogenic belt and the eastern edge of Arabian platform, mainly in the low-angle fold belt of Zagros structure. Due to the influence of the Zagros orogeny, the fault system of the oilfield is developed, especially the Asmari formation A. It is a complex carbonate reservoir composed of dolomite, limestone and sandstone. The plane and vertical heterogeneity are very strong. The development of micro-fractures is verified by core data, logging data and dynamic analysis. And the multiplicity of well test interpretation is obvious. The core, thin section, imaging logging and well test data (Fig.1) of A oilfield all show that fractures are developed in Asmari formation, and the production performance shows that the existence of fractures improves the production of oil wells. However, due to the serious breakthrough of edge water and secondary bottom water, the water cut of the oilfield rises rapidly, leading to the difficulty in ensuring the development effect of the oilfield. Moreover, the fracture scale in the study area is too small to characterize the parameters, the plane distribution of fractures is different and its distribution law is difficult to predict accurately, which has also become the key to restrict the efficient development of oil fields. As carbonate reservoir has developed fractures and strong heterogeneity, its pore structure is more complex than sandstone reservoir, and the uncertainty of parameter interpretation is higher. Therefore, how to evaluate and obtain the reservoir parameters of A oilfield has always been a great concern. In general, logging, core analysis and pressure transient analysis (PTA) are used to evaluate the reservoir parameters of carbonate rocks. However, core and logging analysis can be used to get static parameters in the range of centimeter to meter, while PTA can obtain static and dynamic parameters in the range of hundreds of meters to several kilometers, such as skin coefficient, boundary conditions, permeability and cross flow coefficient. Therefore, the PTA results are more practical.

Sabates-Wheeler, Rachel y Carolina Szyp. Key Considerations for Targeting Social Assistance in Situations of Protracted Crises. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), marzo de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/basic.2022.012.

Texto completo
Resumen
Targeting social assistance in situations of protracted conflict, protracted displacement, or recurrent climate shock, so that it reaches those most in need rapidly, effectively and without doing further harm, has historically been one of the most complex technical and political challenges for development and humanitarian programmes. Trade-offs involving costs beyond the economic – such as risks of exclusion and concerns over protection – raise questions about who to target, how to target and whether to target at all (i.e. through universal coverage or lotteries) would lead to better impacts in contexts where systems of state provision are often damaged or non-existent. The multiplicity of actors involved in delivering social assistance in crisis situations, with their own targeting cultures and mandates, can result in uncoordinated patchy and limited assistance, often overlooking equity concerns. Drawing on a range of literature, in this paper we examine the key considerations and dilemmas for targeting social assistance in protracted crises, including shock contexts, targeting methods, exclusion and protection risks, national and international actors’ politics, and technologies. Our purpose is to draw out lessons to better inform targeting of future social assistance programming across the humanitarian-development nexus.

Lylo, Taras. THE IDEOLOGEME «DICTATORSHIP OF RELATIVISM» IN THE ROBERTO DE MATTEI’S ESSAYS: POSTMODERN AND POST-COMMUNIST CONTEXTS. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, marzo de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.50.11100.

Texto completo
Resumen
The article considers relativism as a philosophical principle and the moral standpoint of a journalist. In particular, the main argumentation of Roberto de Mattei’s work «Dictatorship of Relativism» is analyzed. Like Ratzinger, the Italian publicist describes modern life as ruled by a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as definitive and whose ultimate goal consists solely of satisfying «the desires of one’s own ego». In his view, the boundaries of the main conflict of modernity lie between two visions of the world: one that believes in the existence of immutable, absolute values, and one that argues that there is nothing stable, that everything is conditional, time-dependent and can be discussed in the media. The markers of this conflict are our attitude to the famous statement of Protagoras about «man as a measure of all things: of the things that are, that they are, of the things that are not, that they are not», as well as to the non-debatable values, the status of natural and positive law, the worldview neutrality, the dehierarchization and multiplicity of truths, the equalization of all worldviews and axiological standpoint in foreign and Ukrainian media. A special attention in the article is paid to the ideological program of media-relativism, as well as to the postmodern and post-communist contexts of the issue of the penetration of relativism into the journalistic values.

Baader, Franz. Terminological cycles in a description logic with existential restrictions. Technische Universität Dresden, 2002. http://dx.doi.org/10.25368/2022.120.

Texto completo
Resumen
Cyclic definitions in description logics have until now been investigated only for description logics allowing for value restrictions. Even for the most basic language FL₀, which allows for conjunction and value restrictions only, deciding subsumption in the presence of terminological cycles is a PSPACE-complete problem. This report investigates subsumption in the presence of terminological cycles for the language EL, which allows for conjunction and existential restrictions. In contrast to the results for FL₀, subsumption in EL remains polynomial, independent of wether we use least fixpoint semantics, greatest fixpoint semantics, or descriptive semantics. These results are shown via a characterization of subsumption through the existence of certain simulation relations between nodes of the description graph associated with a given cyclic terminology.

Texto completo
Resumen
In the article according to the theory of the subject, patterns of the existence and genesis of the subject of “Vogue” and “Harper’s Bazaar” (USA) magazines was analysed, perspective of the emergence of new subjects was established, classification of the current subjects into universal and synthetic was suggested and some regularities of authorial creation of new subjects was examined. The main objective of the study is to identify patterns of existence of actual and formation of new topics in the Means of Mass Communication on the example of “Vogue” and “Harper’s Bazaar” magazines. In studying of the empiric basis of the research the method of observation is applied; in finding common themes for both publications – a comparative method was used. The method of analysis was used in the decomposition of topics into separate topics; in isolation from the features of the topic, uncharacteristic of a journalistic work – abstraction was applied. The elucidation that the subject appears as a formal verbal expression of a set of homogeneous topics was done by applying the method of formalization. The main results of the research are: obtaining the new classification of topics of “Vogue” and “Harper’s Bazaar” magazines; identification of a significant manifestation of universal themes on the pages of publications; establishment of the basic subjective (deontological) bases of formation of new subjects. A theoretical level of their knowledge will enrich science, equip practice, promote individual and world harmony.

Resumen
Software is a hybrid object in the world research as it is equally a driving force (as a tool), a result (as proof of the existence of a solution) and an object of study (as an artefact). This specific status means we need to define strategies, tools and procedures which are adapted to the various issues it raises. These include the citation of contributions to software design and production, the reproducibility of research results involving software and the wider usage and long-term sustainability of the software heritage created. This opportunity note by the Committee for Open Science's Free Software and Open Source Project Group describes the issues at stake and formulates actionable recommendations.

Texto completo
Resumen
This paper evaluates whether market competition matters for the effectiveness of innovation policies. Using data for manufacturing firms in Chile and Peru, we implement propensity matching techniques combined with differences-in-differences estimation to evaluate the impact of innovation subsidies on the post-treatment innovation investment effort of firms and test whether such impact differs according to the intensity of competition. We corroborate the existence of crowding-in effects in beneficiaries when compared to a control group of untreated firms. The subsidy impact is found either only significant in highly competitive sectors or larger in more competition-intensive industries -compared to low competition ones. Thus, we confirm that market competition plays a moderating role in the effectiveness of innovation policies to stimulate firm innovation investment. The results are robust to different matching and estimation methods and suggest, therefore, the importance of considering market contexts in the design of innovation policies.

Resumen
The actualization of this topic is explained by modern information technologies, which center the question of knowledge, as such, before its practical application. The purpose of the article is to analyze the topic of objectivity of knowledge, as a sociocultural problem, involving consideration of the relationship of various forms of skepticism with the sociocultural context. Research methods are philosophical and general logical. Research results. Pyrrhonian skepticism reflects the personal, socio-political and economic crisis of the Hellenistic era. The complete and consistent development of the views of extreme skeptics in practice turns into an apology for force or chaos. The time of M. Montaigne is characterized by the conjugation of historical optimism with paradigm instability, the struggle of ideas and socio-cultural structures for the right to exist. Hence the appeal to the subject, as to the basis that determines the stability of social and personal existence.
