Resumen
Abstract EuPdSn and EuPtSn were prepared from the elements in tantalum tubes at 1070 K and investigated by X-ray diffraction on both powder as well as single crystals. They crystallize with the TiNiSi type structure of space group Pnma and with Z = 4 formula units per cell. Both structures were refined from single-crystal diffractometer data: a = 751.24(9), b = 469.15(6), c = 804.31(9) pm, V = 0.2835(1) nm3 for EuPdSn, and a = 753.38(7), b = 467.72(4), c = 793.08(7) pm, V = 0.2795(1) nnr for EuPtSn. The structures consist of three-dimensional [PdSn] and [PtSn] polyanionic networks in which the europium atoms are embedded. The crystal chemistry of these stannides is briefly discussed

Resumen
Euptox A (9-oxo-10, 11-dehydroageraphorone), the main toxin isolated from Eupatorium adenophorum, is known to induce immunotoxicity in animals. However, the precise mechanism underlying the effects of Euptox A on splenocytes is unclear. Here, we aimed to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the effect of Euptox A in mouse spleens after its intragastric administration and found that Euptox A exhibits proautophagic effects in splenocytes. Euptox A markedly arrested the splenocytes in the G0/G1 phase, which was accompanied by inhibition of the expression of the positive regulators CDK4, CDK2, cyclin D1, PCNA, and E2F1, and promotion of the expression of the negative regulators p53, p21 Waf1/Cip1, p27 Kip1, and Chk1. We also found that Euptox A did not markedly induce splenocyte apoptosis, but induced autophagy while increasing the subcellular localization of punctate LC3, ratio of LC3-II/LC3-I, and Beclin 1 levels, and decreasing p62 levels. Euptox A also significantly inhibited p-PI3K, p-p38 MAPK, p-Akt, and p-mTOR expression, but increased PTEN and p-AMPK expression. These results indicated that Euptox A induced splenocyte autophagy by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, suppressing p38 MAPK expression, and activating AMPK. These findings provide new insights into the mechanisms involved in spleen toxicity caused by Euptox A in mice.

Resumen
Eupatorium adenophorum is worldwide-spread invasive plant. This review focussed on unique metabolite, Euptox A, released by this plant and its importance in invasion, use and control. Based on previous literature, it is concluded that the mechanism of the invader’s success has a close relationship with a special compound, Euptox A. Its release and degradation mostly determines the spread of E. adenophorum. Besides, the control and use of this invasive species should consider the toxicity of Euptox A. This review suggests that the secondary metabolite, Euptox A, might be a key in controlling and using this invasive plant. This review will increase our knowledge of the role of a natural chemical in biological invasion.

Resumen
It can be said that the religious placeness of Eupchi(邑治), a traditional city, was formed by Sajikdan(社稷壇), Seonghwangdan(城隍壇), and Yeodan(厲壇) centered on the Hyanggyo(鄕校, local Confucian school). Gongju and Daegu Eupchi, which were selected as case areas, are representative Eupchi in Chungcheong-do and Gyeongsang-do in the late Joseon Dynasty. For these two traditional cities, the changes in the religious placeness of Eupchi during the modern times were examined. First, I looked at the movement of the pivot in the religious landscape related to the dissolution of Eupchi. At the same time, focusing on the missionary strategies of religions newly introduced during the modern times, I also examined the preferred location for each religion and the relationship with residential areas by ethnicity. Next, I analyzed the placeness of each religion introduced during the modern times by inertia of place, appropriation of place, power of place, and cohesion of place. From this point of view, the unique religious placeness of the two traditional cities was changed by the new religious pivot formed by the foreign religions. This resulted in displaceness.

Resumen
Today, the ‘landscape’ concept of geography is an important part of the UNESCO’s approach to evaluating, inscribing, and managing World Heritages. Recently the UNESCO’s ‘Historic Urban Landscape (HUL)’ approach contributes to a comprehensive coverage by maintaining a holistic view based on the landscape concept of geography, relating the historic districts within the city to ecological, social, and cultural dimensions, daily life of citizens, promotion of current happiness, and sustainable development. The UNESCO’s HUL approach should be taken seriously when our designing plans for re-recognition and management of the heritage values of eupchi (county seat) landscapes of the Joseon Dynasty scattered throughout the Korean Peninsula today. From this point of view, the author took Gongju Eupchi as a case, drew values as the traditional cityscape of Korea, reflected on the existing understanding of the Eupchi landscape from academic, civil society, and institutional aspects, and presented future development tasks.

Texto completo
Resumen
The paper presents an assessment of the accuracy and precision of point positioning using a currently available online service for automatic post-processing (APPS) of GNSS observations made by the Polish Active Geodetic Network—European Position Determination System (ASG-EUPOS). The ASG-EUPOS network is part of the national EUPOS project and was selected for the study because of its substantial spatial reach in Europe. A modification to the current APPS algorithm is proposed to limit the number of baseline vectors used in positioning and change the method for adjusting post-processing results. Currently, the APPS of the ASG-EUPOS determines point coordinates based on the method for adjusting direct and equally accurate observations with the least-squares method (equally accurate method, EAM). The modification proposes to determine the coordinates based on post-processing results adjustment using the unequally accurate observations method (unequally accurate method, UAM). Our analysis diagnoses the uncertainty of the ASG-EUPOS’s APPS, and the modification optimises the adjustment. The proposed modification facilitates a much lower standard deviation of positioning in relation to reference positions. It is demonstrated that, if modified, the ASG-EUPOS service can provide automatic post-processing for 1 h GPS observations with a 1 s interval at 0.03 m accuracy for 99% of cases.

Inflammation caused by viral or bacterial infection is a major threat to human health globally. Blood C-reactive protein (CRP) has been proven to be a sensitive indicator for the occurrence and development of inflammation. Furthermore, a tiny change of blood CRP concentration may portend chronic diseases; therefore, high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) detection in a quantitative, rapid, user-friendly, and low-cost manner is highly demanded. In this paper, we developed a europium-chelate polystyrene microsphere (EuPSM)-based lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) integrating with a benchtop fluorescence analyzer for hs-CRP detection. The optimization of the EuPSM-based LFIA was implemented through adjusting the antibody density on EuPSM from 100% to 60% of the saturated density. Finally, the limit of detection of 0.76 pg/mL and detection range of 0.025–250 ng/mL were obtained. Moreover, the clinical application capability of the proposed platform was validated through detecting CRP in clinical serum samples, showing high consistency with the results obtained from the clinical standard method. Hence, the proposed EuPSM-based LFIA has been verified to be well suitable for hs-CRP detection, while also showing great applicability for sensitively and rapidly detecting other biomarkers.

Resumen
Abstract. Baltic amber eupnoid and dyspnoid types (Arachnida: Opiliones) in the Berendt collection are redescribed from their repository in the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. Type specimens of Caddo dentipalpis (Koch & Berendt, 1854), Dicranopalpus ramiger (Koch & Berendt, 1854), Nemastoma (?) incertum Koch & Berendt, 1854, Mitostoma (?) denticulatum (Koch & Berendt, 1854) and Histricostoma (?) tuberculatum (Koch & Berendt, 1854) are all redescribed and the first photographs and camera lucida drawings of this material are presented. N. (?) incertum is removed from synonymy with M. (?) denticulatum. The status of the other Baltic amber harvestman types and their affinities are discussed. The type of Sabacon bachofeni Roewer, 1939 (= S. claviger (Menge, 1854)) held in the Bavarian State collection, Munich is also redescribed here, but the repository of three other Roewer harvestman types and all of Menge’s types remains uncertain. The problematic Cheiromachus coriaceus Menge, 1854 is considered a nomen dubium, as is Phalangium succineum Presl, 1822, which may not even be a harvestman.

Abstract GNSS systems are currently the basic tools for determination of the highest precision station coordinates (e.g. basic control network stations or stations used in the networks for geodynamic studies) as well as for land, maritime and air navigation. All of these tasks are carried out using active, large scale, satellite geodetic networks which are complex, intelligent teleinformatic systems offering post processing services along with corrections delivered in real-time for kinematic measurements. Many countries in the world, also in Europe, have built their own multifunctional networks and enhance them with their own GNSS augmentation systems. Nowadays however, in the era of international integration, there is a necessity to consider collective actions in order to build a unified system, covering e.g. the whole Europe or at least some of its regions. Such actions have already been undertaken in many regions of the world. In Europe such an example is the development for EUPOS which consists of active national networks built in central eastern European countries. So far experience and research show, that the critical areas for connecting these networks are border areas, in which the positioning accuracy decreases (Krzeszowski and Bosy, 2011). This study attempts to evaluate the border area compatibility of Polish ASG-EUPOS (European Position Determination System) reference stations and Ukrainian GeoTerrace system reference stations in the context of their future incorporation into the EUPOS. The two networks analyzed in work feature similar hardware parameters. In the ASG-EUPOS reference stations network, during the analyzed period, 2 stations (WLDW and CHEL) used only one system (GPS), while, in the GeoTerrace network, all the stations were equipped with both GPS and GLONASS receivers. The ASG EUPOS reference station network (95.6%) has its average completeness greater by about 6% when compared to the GeoTerrace network (89.8%).
