Resumen
Wetlands have an important ecological function and economic value. However, with economic development and urban expansion, wetland plants have suffered serious damage. Rare and endangered plants are “thermometers” that reflect the health processes of their ecosystems. To better protect the wetlands in Sanya, China, we systematically investigated and analyzed the species, quantities, distributions, and community characteristics of the rare and endangered plants in the Sanya River basin using the sample and sample strip methods. We established a total of 152 quadrats, of which 46 contained rare and endangered plants. We identified 27 rare and endangered plants that mainly appeared in the tree and shrub layers. The dominant families and genera of the community were evident. However, the proportion of families and genera with fewer or single species was high, indicating that the species composition of the community is complex, and the plant species diversity is rich. The dominant species in each layer of the community were evident, and the rare and endangered plants are occasional species of the community. The community similarity in the urban areas was high, indicating that the rare and endangered plants in these areas require highly homogenous habitats. The community similarity in the suburbs was low, indicating that the rare and endangered plants in these areas are highly adaptable to different habitats. Threat factors and vegetation coverage degree had a significant impact on the number of species and population size of rare and endangered plants. Finally, according to our study and IUCN classification criteria for the endangered levels, Sonneratia × gulngai meets the CR (Critical Endangered) assessment criteria, thus we recommend upgrading it to the endangered level from VU (Vulnerable).

Resumen
RARE PLANT LITERACY FOR BIOLOGICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AS A RESULT OF THE TASK OF MINI RESEARCH AbstractIndonesia is known as one of the mega biodiversity countries, but ironically biodiversity in Indonesia has actually decreased, so that there are around 240 species of plants already included in the list of endangered plants. Therefore a movement is needed to educate the academic community, in this case Biology Education students through lecture assignments about endangered plant literacy. Thus the problem in this study is how the literacy of endangered plants of Biology Education students as a result of mini research in plant biology lectures. This research is a descriptive research. The research instruments included a mini research assessment sheet, which included aspects of the accuracy of determining plant species which included endangered categories, descriptions of morphology, classification and benefits of these plants. Biology Education students are assigned to survey, inventory and observe endangered plants in West Java. Overall endangered plant literacy of Biology Education students is good, but the aspect that is still lacking is in determining plant species in endangered categories. One of the plants found in Sukabumi area is Cynometra cauliflora including vulnerable plants. Need to develop assignments and assessments to assess endangered plant literacy of students to be more comprehensive. Resumen
The aim of this study is to present the updated list of rare and threatened vascular plant species in the Lublin province. The threatened species categories are presented according to the IUCN criteria. The regional list contains 408 species (that makes up 25% of the Lublin Region flora); 56 of which are considered critically endangered, 81 represent endangered species, 51 belong to the category of vulnerable species, and 49 are near threatened species, respectively. The presence of 37 species has not been confirmed and therefore they are listed as regionally extinct (RE). Of the total number of species, 134 are rare, but because the data about those species is insufficient, they have been classified as DD category (data deficient). The species of the genera: Alchemilla, Callitriche, Hieracium, Oenothera, Rosa, Rubus and Taraxacum have not been evaluated (NE category). Other species – those whose occurrence is doubtful and all neophytes were defined as not applicable (NA). The endangered taxa occur mostly in dry grasslands, deciduous forests, wetlands, and calcareous weed communities of cereal crops.

Resumen
The authors present a list of extinct, dying out and threatened species of vascular plants of the Sudeten Mts. (south-western Poland), based on their own field studies carried out since 1972, historical literature data, and herbarial collections. The list comprises 584 taxa, i.e. almost 33% of the Sudeten vascular flora. Sixty species were recognized as extinct and disappeared, 93 - as critically endangered, 161 - as endangered, 224 - vulnerable, and 12 - near threatened species. No definite kind of threat was ascribed to 34 taxa. Thus they were included in the group of ,data deficient" species. The paper presents also a quantitative analysis of all the species from the particular threat categories at the background of basic phytosociological groups. Besides, exemplary maps of the distribution of some of the Sudeten plants are given.

Resumen
The Stephen F. Austin State University Arboretum occupies ten acres of campus property on the banks of LaNana creek, the stream that bisects the campus and the city of Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas. The mission statement of the Arboretum is to promote the conservation, selection and use of the native plants of east Texas. There are 19 species in east Texas that are either federally endangered, state endangered, or in danger of extirpation from the state. Many others face a serious decline in numbers as appropriate habitats diminish. A long-term project of ex situ and in situ conservation was initiated in 1992. Goals include: 1) acquire global position and vegetative analyses of endangered plant communities, 2) utilize ArcCAD® (a PC-GIS software) to archive a collection of maps, photographs, plant community data, and text, 3) maintain an ex situ collection of endangered plants from known provenances in the arboretum, and 4) reintroduction of species into appropriate protected habitats. The project involves the cooperation of several state and federal agencies and integrates the resources of a university horticulture program with the needs of endangered plant conservation.

Resumen
Gladiolus is a perennial geophyte, semi-rustice herb and belongs to the Iridaceae family. Gladiolus is an important bulbous ornamental plant. It is used as cut flowers, garden and potted plants. Turkey, which is among the major gene centers of the world and has a special place in plant genetic diversity, has rich genetic resources of geophytes including Gladiolus. However, many plant genetic resources, including Gladiolus are under genetic erosion because of the environmental and other problems and therefore face with the danger of extinction. Turkey has one Gladiolus species in IUCN Red List category. This species is Gladiolus italicus and its Red list category is Least Concern (LC). Gladiolus italicus is distributed in Macaronesia, Mediterranean basin to central Asia. Also introduced and naturalized in California. It naturally grows in many parts of Turkey. The other Gladiolus species that are reported to be under threat in Turkey are; Gladiolus anatolicus, Gladiolus antakiensis, Gladiolus halophilus, Gladiolus humilis, Gladiolus micranthus. In addition to their potential usage as ornamental plants, their usage in phytomedicine due to the medical properties of the modified stems, leaves and in other related industries increases their importance. Therefore, it is very important to protect these genetic resources of Gladiolus.

Resumen
We explored the adaptability of endangered plants in degraded karst habitats through functional trait variation, using three endangered woody plants (E. cavaleriei, H. bodinieri and K. septentrionalis) in karst peak-cluster depression. We investigated the variation decomposition and correlation analysis of 13 branch and leaf functional traits using a mixed linear model, variance decomposition, Pearson’s correlation analysis, random forest regression, and generalized linear regression. The degree of variation in phosphorus concentration in the branches was the highest, while that in the carbon concentration in the leaves was the smallest. The variation in the carbon concentration in the branches and leaves, and the dry matter concentration in the leaves was mainly within species, while the variation in other functional traits was mainly between species. We found significant correlations among leaf traits, branch traits, and leaf–branch traits to different degrees; however, there were no significant correlations among branch traits in H. bodinieri. The significant correlations were higher in E. cavaleriei and K. septentrionalis than in H. bodinieri. Plant functional traits were influenced by soil and topographic factors, and the relationship between them varied by species. Our findings will enhance our understanding of the variation in leaf and branch traits in karst endangered plants and the adaptative strategies of endangered plants in degraded habitat, and will provide a scientific basis for vegetation conservation in the karst region of southwest China.

Resumen
An updated checklist of Mozambique’s vascular plants is presented. It was compiled referring to several information sources such as existing literature, relevant online databases and herbaria collections. The checklist includes 7,099 taxa (5,957 species, 605 subspecies, 537 varieties), belonging to 226 families and 1,746 genera. There are 6,804 angiosperms, 257 pteridophytes, and 38 gymnosperms. A total of 6,171 taxa are native to Mozambique, while 602 are introduced and the remaining 326 taxa were considered as uncertain status. The endemism level for Mozambique’s flora was assessed at 9.59%, including 278 strict-endemic taxa and 403 near-endemic. 58.2% of taxa are herbaceous, while shrubs and trees account respectively for 26.5% and 9.2% of the taxa. The checklist also includes ferns (3.6%), lianas (1.7%), subshrubs (0.5%) and cycads (0.3%). Fabaceae, Poaceae and Asteraceae are the three most represented families, with 891, 543 and 428 taxa, respectively. The extinction risk of 1,667 taxa is included, with 158 taxa listed as Vulnerable, 119 as Endangered and as 24 Critically Endangered. The geographical distribution, known vernacular names and plants traditional uses are also recorded.

Resumen
Quantitative assessment and evaluation of ecological parameters and biodiversity conservation are prime concerns for long-term conservation of rare and endangered species and their associated habitats in any ecological region. In this study, Gansu Province, a biodiversity hotspot, was chosen as the research area. We predicted the distribution patterns of suitable habitats for rare and endangered species. The replacement cost method was adopted to calculate the conservation value of rare and endangered species. The suitable habitat distribution area of rare and endangered wild animals reached 351,607.76 km2 (without overlapping area), while that of plants reached 72,988.12 km2 (without overlapping area). The conservation value of rare and endangered wildlife is US $1670.00 million. The high-value areas are mostly concentrated in the south and north of Gansu Province. The conservation value of rare and endangered wild plants is US $56,920.00 million. The high-value areas are mostly concentrated south of Gansu Province. The conservation value is US $58,590.00 million a year, and its distribution trend is gradually decreasing from northeast to southwest, with the highest in the forest area south of Gansu Province, followed by the Qilian Mountain area in the north. These results are of great significance for future improvement of the evaluation index system of ecosystem services and the development of ecosystem services and management strategies.

Resumen
Abstract Gdańsk Pomerania is a region characterized by unique physiographic features and diverse flora. This region, as many other areas, is subject to numerous accelerating transformations. The occurrence of numerous species on their range edges and on isolated stands, e.g. mountain and xerothermic grassland species, was an important criterion in the development of a regional red list of vascular plants of Gdańsk Pomerania (Markowski & Buliński 2004). On this list, 648 species of vascular plants, which constitute about 39% of the regional flora and 26% of all Polish flora, are considered to be endangered at various levels. In total, 47 species have been declared extinct in the aforementioned region (RE), 39 taxa are considered as critically endangered (CR) and 109 – as endangered (EN). Further 222 plant species are classified as vulnerable (moderately endangered) (VU), 124 have low risk categories (NT or LC) and there are 107 taxa of unknown threat, due to lack of sufficient information (DD). The aim of this work was to synthesize endangered components of Gdańsk Pomerania vascular plant flora for their better recognition and characterization. Among the species varying in threat degrees, the authors identified species protected by law and endangered in Poland as well as globally. In addition, the participation of species diagnostic of individual phytosociological units was verified. Also, the share of taxa representing various geographical elements was indicated.

Resumen
In the research work has been comparatively analyzed the Hirkan dendroflora and have been collected herbariums of rare and endangered trees and shrubs. There are identified 26 families, 40 genera, 60 species of rare and endangered trees and shrubs naturally spreading areas, distribution of individuals in populations, have been performed tree-ring analysis on old samples. As a result of the observations have been determined, that in the Hirkan flora the majority of species in the areas have been diminished and decreased compared to previous years, many species are in danger of being disappeared. From this point of view by the monitorings of the area were studied threat criteria, the reasons of decline in plant varieties, those plants have been identified based on version of IUCN 3.1. In the research work have been processed out the protection measures, the biological features of species, the causes of change in natural resources.
