Resumen

The Benton pluton, located in the Eel River area of west-central New Brunswick, Canada, consists of two components—the Caldwell Brook quartz monzonite and Dugan Road monzogranite. Field relations suggest that the two are essentially coeval, the Dugan Road being slightly younger. The Benton pluton intrudes Cambrian to Early Ordovician sedimentary rocks of the Woodstock Group and overlying Early to Middle Ordovician calc-alkaline rhyolitic, andesitic, dacitic, and basaltic rocks of the lower Meductic Group. A new U–Pb (LA-ICP-MS) zircon age of 467 ± 2. Ma indicates that the Dugan Road monzogranite component of the Benton pluton was emplaced during the Middle Ordovician (late Dapingian to early Darriwilian). The Dugan Road monzogranite is ca. 7 million years younger than the nearby arc-related Connell Mountain tonalite and Gibson granodiorite, and ca. 13 million years younger than arc- related volcanic rocks of the Porten Road Formation, the oldest unit of the Meductic Group. The Benton pluton is interpreted to have been emplaced in an active extensional arc setting, coinciding with a shift in the focus of subduction-related volcanism from the Eel River area of New Brunswick to the Greenfield area of adjacent Maine, USA.

Resumen

Aim: To examine the effects of coordination applied to 8-10 years old female athletes on tennis and some motor skills. Metodology: The athletes were randomly divided into experiment and control groups by applying Dewitt-Dugan tennis test, standing long jump, vertical jump, 20m speed, T test and square test. In the study, while the control group only participated in club training for 8 weeks, 5 days a week and 60 min.and the experimental group added coordination training education. Data was collected and entered in SPSS 22.0. Results: There was a significant difference (p<0.05) in the parameters of all measurements of the experimental group in the standing long jump, vertical jump, 20m speed, t test and Dewitt-Dugan parameters and no significant change in the square test results (p>0.05). Among the final measurement values of the experimental and control groups, significant differences were found in favor of the experimental group in the values of standing long jump, vertical jump, 20m speed and Dewitt-Dugan parameters, except for the T test and the square test (p<0.05). Conclusion: It can be said that the 8-week coordination training applied to the experimental group has a positive effect on the motor characteristics and tennis skill, and specific coordination movements added to each unit training can be beneficial for the athletes. IN FIGHTS FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE, ALLIES AND THEIR EFFORTS RECEIVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ATTENTION. This attention can be justified, as allies serve essential functions in efforts to eliminate inequities present in social systems, through the pursuit of social justice (Russell & Bohan, 2016). “Allies are a crucial group in the work of social justice” (Munin & Speight, 2010, p. 249). Add to this that higher education is increasingly looked to as a critical source of leadership development (Dugan & Komives, 2007; Hastings & Sunderman, 2019), and the need to address allyship among student leaders is especially poignant. Embracing action as allies is one avenue to aid students’ learning to integrate social justice into their approach to leadership, which is a key aspect of developing as socially responsible leaders (Dugan & Komives, 2010; Irwin, 2015).

This research explores the ethnographical values in the Muram Batu’s book Hujan Kota Arang. The ethnographical values refer to the human culture, faith, belief, and language depicted in the literature, such as a short story. The author used universal categories of culture proposed by Clyde Kluckhohn consists of language, knowledge systems, social organizations, living and technological equipment systems, livelihood systems, religion, and the arts.This research is library research, and the research design is descriptive qualitative research. The author used content analysis and descriptive analysis to analyze the ethnographical elements in each short story. The result shows the ethnographical features depicted are language, social organization, religion and the arts. The language is revealed in the story of coffee shop, analieoita and dugan ragi manis. The social organization revealed in the the nemui nyimah and a story of the coffee shop. The religion is depicted in in the anaileoita and the death of sipatitik. The arts depicted in the dugan ragi manis.

Resumen

In this study, it was aimed to reveal the effect of motor imagination training on the hit of the service in the tennis game. 32 male tennis players between the ages of 18-25 participated in the study in the field of tennis in Kayseri. After the first measurements of age, height, body weight and Dewitt-Dugan service and ITN Service test of the athletes, control (n=16) and experimental (n=16) groups were separated by random method. While 8-week technical training was applied to both groups, technical and imagination trainings were applied to the experimental group. At the end of eight weeks, the final test values were taken. The obtained data were analyzed in the IBM-SPSS 25 for Windows package program. In the analysis, the data showed normal distribution. Descriptive statistics were shown with arithmetic mean and standard deviation. As a statistical comparison test, analysis of variance was applied in repeated measurements to see the main effects and the changes in the data with significant interaction over time. In order to reveal the change of the groups over time in the variables whose group time interaction was significant, the Bonfferroni test was applied and the group and time changes were compared. The significance level was taken as p <0.05. In the comparisons between the experimental and control groups; According to the results of analysis of variance in repeated measurements of Dewitt-Dugan service test, no statistically significant difference was found in group main effect, time main effect and group time interaction (p>0.05). According to the results of analysis of variance in repeated measurements in ITN service test measurements, no statistical difference was found in the group main effect (F=0.208, p=0.655, η2=0.015), while the time main effect (F=26.034, p<0.001, η2=0.465) and group time interaction A significant difference was found (F=12.305, p=0.001, η2=0.291). As a result, it can be said that 8-week motor imagination training is effective in more complex motor skills such as the ITN s test, while there is no difference in the tests that do not include complex skills such as Dewitt-Dugan.

Resumen

Sports and physical activity are widely recommended, both as guidelines and in clinical practice, because of their broad range of positive effects on health, depression, anxiety, and psychological well-being. While several studies have examined the anti-depressive and anxiolytic effects of physical activity in clinical populations, and fewer studies have focused on the nonclinical populations, the relationship between tennis and well-being has not been clearly investigated. This study was carried out with 76 student volunteers from Kocaeli University (Turkey) who had chosen tennis lessons as their University. The tennis exercise program consisted of 90-minute basic tennis skills lessons for 13 weeks. At the beginning and at the end of the study, the students were given the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) scales, and were evaluated by the DeWitt-Dugan Tennis Service Test, the DeWitt-Dugan Speed Test, and the Dyer Backboard Tennis Test. Upon evaluating the students' pre- and post-test scores, we concluded that their BDI and BAI scores had significantly decreased, with the most significant decreases seen in several sub-scores of the SCL-90-R; their tennis skills, meanwhile, increased significantly. This study shows that partaking in tennis exercise once a week decreases depression and anxiety symptoms and enhances well-being in healthy young people.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu desain pembelajaran berbasis Hypotetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) pada materi operasi bilangan yang dapat membuat siswa kelas VII memahami materi operasi bilangan bulat dan menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan operasi bilangan bulat.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design Research.Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.Pada penelitian ini, peneliti membuat HLT sebagai dugaan awal dari aktivitas pembelajaran yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus uji coba hingga didapatkan desain pembelajaran yang diharapkan.Hasil analisis retrospektif menunjukkan desain pembelajaran yang disusun memberikan perubahan positif terhadap siswa kelas VII dalam memahami konsep operasi bilangan bulat.Dari hasil kerja beberapa kelompok diperoleh bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yaitu memahami bilangan bulat, menentukan hasil penjumlahan bilangan bulat, menentukan hasil pengurangan bilangan bulat serta menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari berkaitan dengan operasi bilangan bulat. Hasil kerja tersebut disertai dengan dugaan-dugan yang terjadi maupun tidak terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran pada (HLT).Kata Kunci:Design Research, Dugaan Lintasan Belajar, Operasi Bilangan Bulat.This research aims to produce a design-based Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) learning in the integer’s operations materials that can make class VII students understand the integer’s operations materials and resolve issues related to integer’s operations. The type of research used is Design Research. The subject of this study was a grade VII junior high students. In this research, researchers made HLT the earliest suspect of the learning activity carried out in two test cycles until the expected learning design was obtained. The results of a retrospective analysis showed that the design of learning was compiled to provide positive changes to class VII junior high students in understanding the concept of integer’s operations. From the work of several groups, the majority of students have achieved the learning objectives, namely understanding integers, determining the sum of integers, determining the reduction of integers and solve daily problems relating to integer’s operations. The work of students are accompanied by conjectures that occur or do not occur in the learning process that has been compiled in HLT.Keywords:Design Research, Hypothetical Learning Trajectory, Integer’s Operation

This paper draws upon a congregational study of an Episcopal parish in the United States in conflict over sexuality issues. Based on ethnographic research, the paper tells the story of a small Northern Virginia church’s internal struggles, schism, and continuing post-schism conflicts, in the context of its changing external social and religious landscape. A practical theological analysis of these conflicts explores the existence of different theological and political ecclesiologies shaping the conflict, as well as utilizing the work of peace scholars Marie Dugan 1 and John Paul Lederach 2 to consider conflict’s multidimensional, interacting features.

Abstract For over five years, photographer Jess T. Dugan and social worker Vanessa Fabbre traveled throughout the United States creating To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults. Seeking subjects whose lived experiences exist at the complex intersections of gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, sexuality, socioeconomic class, and geographic location, they documented the life stories of this important but largely underrepresented group of older adults. The resulting photographs and interviews provide a nuanced view into the struggles and joys of growing older as a transgender person and offer a poignant reflection on what it means to live authentically despite seemingly insurmountable odds.

Background: Complementary food for breast milk is food or drink that contains nutrients given to children to meet their nutritional needs. Apples or in the Latin name Malus domestica are very good for toddlers as a drink (juice) to replace breast milk, this is because besides being delicious, apples have many health benefits for babies. This apple juice has several health benefits for babies, namely improving digestion, treating dysentery, relieving coughs, and nourishing the body. Coconut water or the Latin name Cocos nucifera is highly recommended as a baby's first drink after the baby has completed the journey of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. The various nutrients and properties contained in coconut water make it worthy to be called the second best drink after breast milk. Coconut water contains monolaurin, a substance from lauric acid that can build immunity and maintain the health of your little one. Purpose: To further improve the health of children under five and under-fives, as well as to maintain the growth and development of children during their growth period. Methods: In this community service activity the respondents are all mothers who have children under five and toddlers in the area of Posyandu Garuda, Panjang District. This activity uses poster media as a means of presenting material that can be read and taken home for respondents. Result: Counseling on complementary drinks made from apple juice and coconut water in the working area of the Garuda Posyandu went well. Around 50 participants attended. This counseling is expected to increase knowledge of the quality of health to the community so that many toddlers and under-fives are guaranteed nutrition and nutrition. Conclusion: There is an increase in knowledge of breastfeeding mothers or mothers who have toddlers about the importance of consuming breast milk substitutes, who initially did not know the efficacy of apple juice and coconut water. Pendahuluan: Makanan pendamping ASI merupakan makanan atau minuman yang mengandung gizi diberikan kepada anak untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizinya. Buah Apel atau dalam nama latin Malus domestica sangat baik dikonsumsi balita sebagai minuman (jus) pengganti asi, hal ini karena selain lezat, apel memiliki banyak manfaat kesehatan untuk bayi. Jus apel ini memiliki beberapa manfaat bagi kesehatan pada bayi yaitu melancarkan pencernaan, mengobati disentri, meredakan batuk, dan menyehatkan tubuh. Air dugan atau nama latin Cocos nucifera sangat disarankan sebagai miuman pertama bayi setelah bayi menuntaskan perjalanan ASI eksklusif selama 6 bulan. Berbagai nutrisi dan khasiat yang terkandung di dalam air kelapa membuatnya layak untuk disebut sebagai minuman terbaik kedua setelah ASI. Air dugan mengandung monolaurin, zat dari asam laurat yang dapat membangun kekebalan tubuh serta menjaga kesehatan Si Kecil. Tujuan: Untuk lebih meningkatkan kesehatan anak balita dan baduta, serta menjaga tumbuh kembang anak dikala masa pertumbuhan. Metode: Dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarkat ini respondennya adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki baduta dan balita yang berada diwilayah Posyandu Garuda Kecamatan Panjang, Kegiatan ini menggunakan media poster sebagai sarana mempersentasikan materi yang dapat dibaca dan dibawa pulang bagi responden. Hasil: Penyuluhan tentang minuman pendamping asi dari jus buah apel dan air kelapa diwilayah kerja posyandu Garuda berjalan dengan lancar. Peserta yang hadir sekitar 50 responden, dengan di adakan penyuluhan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mutu kesehatan kepada masyarakat agar banyak balita dan baduta yang terjamin gizi dan nutrisi nya. Simpulan: Adanya peningkatan pengetahutan ibu menyusui atau ibu yang mempunyai balita tentang pentinganya mengonsumsi minuman pengganti asi, yang awalnya tidak mengetahui khasiat dari jus buah apel dan air buah kelapa saat ini lebih memahami.

Resumen

In October of 2008, decayed garlic bulbs (Allium sativum L. cv. Blancomor de Vallelado) were received from a producer in Segovia, Spain. In November of 2009, similar symptoms were observed on stored bulbs (cvs. Blancomor de Vallelado and Garcua) from each of 30 municipalities in northwest Segovia and Valladolid. A minimum of one sample was collected from 12 localities. Pieces of symptomatic bulbs were surface disinfested for 2 to 3 min in 0.5% NaOCl and transferred to potato dextrose agar (PDA) and Komada's media. Colonies had catenate microconidia and curved macroconidia that were usually three to five septate. Microconidia were club shaped with a flattened base, aseptate, and were produced on both mono- and polyphialides. On the basis of morphological features, the fungus was identified as Fusarium proliferatum (T. Matsushima) Nirenberg (2,3). Pathogenicity tests were conducted with 12 isolates of the fungi following the method of Dugan et al. (1). Each assay with an isolate consisted of six cloves (cv. Blancomor de Vallelado) disinfested in 0.5% NaOCl for 45 s, rinsed with sterile water, and injured to a depth of 4.5 mm with a probe 1 mm in diameter. The wound was filled with PDA colonized by the appropriate isolate. Six cloves for each tested isolate received sterile agar as a control. The cloves were incubated at 25°C for 5 weeks. The test was repeated once with cv. Garcua. All isolates produced water-soaked, tan lesions. An isolate of the fungus was deposited in the collection of the Plant Production Department of the University of Almeria. No fungi were recovered from the control cloves. F. proliferatum has been reported on garlic in the northwestern United States (1) and Serbia (4). To our knowledge, this is the first report of a Fusarium sp. in the section Liseola attacking garlic in Spain. The fungus seems to be well established on this host in Spain. References: (1) F. M. Resumen

Abstract From the earliest days, Irish characters have played a prominent role in American comics. The hero of Hogan’s Alley, the first American comic strip to feature a speech balloon, was an Irish child named Mickey Dugan, a.k.a. “The Yellow Kid”. Likewise, the star of Happy Hooligan, the first US comic strip to employ speech balloons on a regular basis, was Irish. Thus, not only are Irish characters important in the early history of American comics, their speech is too. The way that this was represented resembled existing portrayals in pop culture, involving respellings, non-standard grammar and lexical items deemed typical of the variety. While some of these continued to index Irishness in comics, others also emerged. Building on previous research, this study examines a corpus of American comics from numerous genres and publishing houses to offer the most comprehensive overview yet of Irish speech in the medium.

Resumen

The relationship between judicial activism and separation of powers has been a hot topic in the judicial field. This paper studies the consistency between judicial activism and the principle of separation of powers in common law. Judicial activism involves judges taking an active role in promoting legal and social change, thereby challenging the traditional judicial role. The main argument is that judicial activism is essential to maintain the adaptability and flexibility of the law, especially in a rapidly changing social, technological and economic environment. Through the analysis of landmark cases such as Mabo v Queensland, No. 2 and R v Dugan, this paper shows how judicial activism can address legislative gaps to ensure justice and equity. In addition, it discusses the need to improve the legal framework to enable judges to make proactive decisions within clearly defined parameters. The conclusions highlight the indispensable role of judicial activism in maintaining a dynamic and responsive legal system, upholding democratic values, and preserving public trust.
